This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back. It wasn't overly crowded for a Friday evening, and the service was spot on, fast friendly, and efficient. The food was FRESH and delicious, with a nice sized portion. We started with the Pork Goyza appetizer, followed by salads with a very fresh and tasty ginger dressing. My main dish was the Chicken Teriyaki, my husband's was Steak Teriyaki. Both were served with white rice. Although I forgot to take a pic of his dinner, it was just as delicious and fresh as mine. This is a BYOB, so come prepared. 🥂

I recently moved to old bridge a month ago. In the mail I've been getting all sorts of coupons and gift cards from local businesses and resturants to welcome us here. I have used a few and never had a problem.

So I got one for this "JUST Restaurant" which contained a $30 gift card to use within 90 days. My wife and I decided to check this place out for lunch. It was pretty good and the food was fresh, the vibe and lighting was nice. The service was decent but definitely not the best.

When I got the bill and gave the waitress my gift card, she said, "this is not Just resturant. We have a new owner as of this month." That's odd because the sign says Just, the menu says just, and signs on the road that were just put there say Just. Eveything says Just. They JUST want you paying full price I guess. It's a shame, because the coupon that got us in the door and would have kept us going because we enjoyed it, completely ruined it for me.

I even payed with a credit card, and on the credit card bill it says "just". I will be in contact with this "new owner" and have him refund me $30, or I will call my credit card company and have the transaction blocked. I will not be going back, and will let people know not to go here.

Pleasure doing business with you JUST 1 time.

A Hidden Gem: Just Restaurant -

Just Restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience, blending amazing food with an atmosphere that transcends mere ambiance. From the moment we stepped in, we were enchanted by the fusion of flavors and the subtle melodies that accompanied our meal. Every bite felt like a symphony of taste, and every moment was filled with the promise of something special. Just Restaurant isn't just a place to eat; it's a place where memories are made and dreams take flight.

This was the first time we visited JUST. It was for my husband's birthday and we came with 2 friends. Every food dish was amazing. We ordered the Korean fried broccoli, pierogies, ribeye, brussels sprout risotto, and general tso's cauliflower.

Julianne was our wonderful server and she was just a doll. Very attentive (not that we needed it) but you can definitely tell she enjoys her job and that she cares. She was very nice and funny and I would love to have her as a server again. She helped us choose dishes based on what she has tried and they were all spectacular.

We will definitely be coming back and I can't wait to try the desserts too!

This place was absolutely amazing! It’s a bit hidden from route 9 because there’s a BP right in front of it but it’s so worth it! Every food we ordered had the same sweet element. We would have enjoyed it more if there was more diversity in the offerings within the flavors.
Place is beautiful but in a very obscured location.
Martinis were small and nitfilled and yet we were charged $19. We had 4, so we basically could have bought two large 1.5 bottles of Gray Goose.
Server/bar tender was very nice.

So disappointed. Went 3 weeks ago and wasn’t gonna say anything but had to. I love this place and couldn’t wait to go back. Food is always amazing. The duck quesadilla was amazing. The. It went down. The Prosecco tasted like club soda. The garlic short rib was tasteless no flavor nothing. The potatoes eve. Had nothing in them. Our waitress was new and had no idea about anything. She was new and didn’t know the menu clearly shouldn’t have been on a Saturday. I had the crab and shrimp ravioli and the sauce was tomato water and seafood so fine u couldn’t even find it. We had the desert sampler and that was amazing. Hope it gets better because it was a big disappointment

This restaurant is a hidden gem in NJ… it’s not clearly visible from the highway and can get missed by many because of that. Anyway, went for dinner with friends last night… nice ambience, music, and food. Loved the beet terrine salad, French onion soup, and desserts. The main course portions were very huge… so everyone ended up taking their mains back. There is some work that needs to be done in this area. That said, our server was amazing… we enjoyed our time here.

We had a horrible New Year experience here. We made a New Year reservation in advance for 10 pm and indicated that it was our anniversary along with the New Year's Eve celebration. After confirming the reservation, which was requested via text message the prior day, I got a phone call asking whether we were staying for the ball drop. I was surprised because we chose this restaurant because it advertized watching the ball drop together and said yes. When we arrived, it took a while for our server to come over and from the first minute, the server showed that she was utterly annoyed with visitors. It took her 1 hour at 10 pm on a New Year Eve to bring basic appetizers.

The restaurant was not busy at that time. People were leaving and the restaurant was getting more and more empty, but we were still sitting with an empty table waiting for appetizers. The server did not even come over or apologize. When we asked her to come over and asked what was going on, she stated with an annoyed expression that the kitchen was busy. No "sorry" or "I'll try to expedite", not even a smile. The family of 4 at the neighboring table, the same composition as ours, who arrived well after us and ordered the same dishes already finished their entrees when we finally got our appetizers.

Once we expressed in a very polite way that 1-hour wait on a New Year Eve was a disappointment for us, the food, once arrived, was thrown at us with hatred, no smile, no "enjoy", not even a glance in our direction. This poor attitude in a place that was supposed to make our evening enjoyable made it really uncomfortable. We wanted to leave as early as possible but since it took 2 hours to bring us food, we stayed for the ball drop with a few families who were still there and left right after. This was the most unwelcoming restaurant visit I've ever had, and it is sad that we booked this restaurant for New Year's Eve. I hope the manager will address the rude behavior and poor service.

This place is pretty awful.
Firstly, the decor is quite lame - “most romantic restaurant in NJ”??? Says who?!?!
The service is painfully slow and just not that professional in general.
The food is weird & expensive. Although we did like our appetizers, especially the broccoli. We had an array of issues including overcooked pasta, too much garlic, a poorly prepared dessert and cold hard fries. We ordered two items to find out ten minutes later they didn’t even have them. When the server asked how everything was and I said “it could be better” - she said nothing. Even the water tasted bad.
Amateur operation.

July 2023: Saturday night dinner for two at 7:30. Clean and chic atmosphere. Clean bathrooms.

A little concerned that only 4 tables were seated upon arrival and that JUST was mostly empty.

AWFUL service by Gabriell. She is not the sharpest knife in the kitchen. She needs to be trained. Bless her heart.

Ordered a bottle of wine that took 20 minutes to table. Wrong bottle was opened and poured before introducing the bottle. We drank it so we paid for it. One of the two entrees was incorrect and comped from the check. However, the ravioli was a little undercooked. No fault to the chefs in trying to clean up our waitresses mess by getting the food to the table.

Received the check and provided my card. Ten minutes goes by and I ask Gabriell for my card back and she brings out a copy of the check, no card. I honestly could not stop laughing.

Asked for a manager and the bartender comes over. Bartender says ,”what does it say about this place that we have no manager here,” she also tells us that the wine we ordered was not available and that Gabriell should have explained that instead of opening a bottle that was double the price without telling us.

We missed all the clues to leave.
1. Located in gas station parking lot.
2. Empty on a Saturday night.
3. Bottle of wine took 20 minutes to get to the table.

I had the pleasure of dining at Just in Old Bridge, where I sampled an array of dishes that were both delightful and disappointing.

The Pretzel bread with honey mustard butter was the standout dish of the evening, garnering a well-deserved 5-star rating. The bread was warm, pillowy, and perfectly complemented by the tangy and sweet honey mustard butter, making for an exceptional starter that left a lasting impression.

The Spicy tuna cones were another standout, with the puréed tuna filling the cone to create a unique, tortilla-like flavor that was both delightful and intriguing. The dish earned 4 stars for its ingenuity and presentation.

Unfortunately, the Vodka, penne with shrimp dish did not live up to its potential, with a sauce that was too thin and shrimp that tasted underwhelming. The dish was awarded only 3 stars, as it failed to deliver the complexity of flavors and textures that one would expect from a dish of this caliber.

The Wagyu burger with truffle fries was also a letdown, with the burger being overcooked and excessively juicy, failing to meet the standard of excellence that one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It received a modest rating of 3 stars.

For dessert, the sampler presented a variety of options, including fried Oreos Zeppoli, cinnamon donuts, chocolate chip cookie pie with vanilla ice cream, and a dipping sauce that was subpar in flavor. The dish was deemed satisfactory and earned a 3.5-star rating.

The service at Just in Old Bridge was courteous and hospitable, but there were several missteps that detracted from the overall experience. Our server failed to ask how we wanted our burger cooked, and neglected to acknowledge my special occasion with a celebratory song. The service was awarded a 3.5-star rating.

The ambiance of the restaurant was a mixed bag, with the modern décor being visually appealing, but the dim lighting and location behind a gas station left a lot to be desired, warranting only 4 stars.

Based on my experience at Just in Old Bridge, I would rate this restaurant a 3.5-star overall. While the Pretzel bread with honey mustard butter and Spicy tuna cones were exceptional, other dishes failed to deliver the level of excellence one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The service was satisfactory but had a few missteps, and the ambiance was visually appealing but had some shortcomings. While the restaurant had its moments, it ultimately fell short of my expectations.

It's worth noting that your wife also enjoyed the restaurant and gave it a rating of four stars, suggesting that the restaurant may still be worth considering for those looking to try something new. While my own experience may have been mixed, it's always helpful to hear from multiple sources and gather a more complete picture of what a restaurant has to offer.

I don’t know what happened to this restaurant. Either they have switched cooks or the overall service has just completely fallen off. My husband and I have dined here for about 5 years now and last night will probably be our last time. We went with a group of friends for a couples night. When we arrived the waitress explained that several items were missing from the menu because they ran out. Being that the menu is not vast in the first place, we barely had any entrees to choose from. So, we ordered the tuna cones, which have always been my favorite, and the short rib tacos. The tuna cones did not taste as fresh and the outer layer was too sweet and almost inedible as it was too sticky/crunchy and was getting stuck to my teeth. It just missed the mark. For entrees I ordered the skirt steak because they ran out of salmon and filet mignon. I asked for it to be cooked medium well, and when I looked over my plate, my mashed potatoes were red because the steak was totally undercooked and there was blood everywhere. They took it back to cook it a little more and when I took a bite, it was kinda chewy and lacked flavor. The sauce that went with the steak was a necessity. Two people in our party ordered the short rib ravioli and both said the meat inside had a rubbery texture. A few others ordered the short rib dinner and they all said it was dry and lacked flavor. One other person ordered the only burger that was available because they ran out of one of them, and said that it was OK. Another person’s sprite gad a coffee bean in it, and we were just too through at that point. Lastly, we tried to give it one more shot with dessert. We ordered the cinnamon donuts and the flourless chocolate cake, that we’ve ordered plenty of times before. I sent the chocolate cake back because it tasted like like melted, chewy chocolate and not so much cake. It just wasn’t the same. Overall the server tried her best to be accommodating, but something just wasn’t right with the quality of the food last night. Something has drastically changed. I’m hoping it was just a bad night.

I came here 6 years ago and it was outstanding. But I came for a $600 dinner the other night and we left feeling like we had overpaid for dinner for 4 :(

4 apps - 4 entrees only 1 a steak - 1 burger &2 pasta dishes (2) drinks each guest. One dessert and 3 espresso.

The drunken shrimp was nothing to write home to mom about and the sauce was very bland. Vodka sauce is easy and for a pricey place it should be better. The pasta was also very over cooked aka MUSHAD as we say at home.

The tuna cones apps - crab tater tots were very good

The drinks from the bar were fine - made a good Manhattan

I remember it being a lot better first time around.

Very disappointed in our dinner today. After waiting for an hour for the food, my short ribs were burnt in some areas and the sauce was also burnt. My husband had the Spanish stuffed sole and also did not enjoy it either. We were not given any bread and when we asked for it, we were told they ran out. My bill was 148.00 and I barely could eat any of my dinner. We usually love Just so this was very sad. I don't even think our waiter reported our concerns, no one came to apologize and nothing was credited on our bill. Hopefully this was a one off and not a sign of things changing for the worse.

EDIT: After the owners saw my review they kindly invited us back to have a better experience. The service was excellent. My husband loved the pretzel bread and our waitress got us more during dinner. The drinks were on point. We had the crispy pork belly for an appetizer. It was the perfect mix of crunchy, sticky, salty, sweet, with a little bit of heat at the end. I had the stuffed sole for dinner and my husband had the filet mignon and shrimp. Both were well seasoned and tasty. I finished with an espresso martini which was recommended by our waitress and very good. We had a much better experience this time and will return.

Unfortunately, my husband and I had a terrible experience at Just. The name Just is quite accurate because we just had drinks and never had dinner. My husband made reservations for us to have dinner the past Mother's Day weekend. When we arrived we were seated immediately and the staff was friendly. We waited an hour and half and never even got an appetizer or a piece of bread. I understand Mother's Day weekend is hectic however, this is an extremely long amount of time to wait without any food. We got our drinks from the bar before we got our water which we had to ask for several times. After an hour and a half of waiting we told the waiter we needed to leave because our baby sitter could not stay all night. The waiter was very apologetic and gave us our drinks on the house. I wish we could have had dinner and then I'd be able to give a less biased review. This was my first Mother's Day and we wound up having to go eat at a diner because the service was terrible and the kitchen was too backed up at Just. If I were the sever or the manager I would have made sure to keep the drinks flowing if the kitchen was that backed up or to give something complementary on the next visit.

I really wanted to like and enjoy this place more. It has great potential but lacked in a couple areas. The tuna appetizer was pretty good, however to give literally a pinch of seaweed salad (is it just a garnish?) was kind of a joke. Then the short rib dinner was disappointing. Once you get over the location of this fine dinning restaurant (it's behind a BP gas station... so I guess if your car needs a meal, too, it's convenient), the restaurant is very pretty inside and has a nightclub like feel. In fact, one criticism up front? When we go out to dinner, we do not want disco-style "current" music BLASTING from the speakers overhead. That was the SECOND thing about the environment we noticed.
That said? Since the ban on mask wearing has been lifted, we've been venturing out again to our favorite restaurents. JUST was my wife's first choice for her birthday dinner. We've always had good meals here, even since they limited their menu a bit. We ate there with friends a month ago, and I had the tuna, which was superb, truly. Everything, including the drinks, were superb. I'm sorry to say, this particular meal was distrubingly bad. I'll say one thing up front: any time a chef has to SMOTHER a dish with SWEET GOOEY SAUCES, you're probably in for trouble.
Let's talk about their Pretzel bread.
It was probably from the day before. Tasted stale. Did we eat it? Yes; but we were hungry having not eaten the entire day in anticipation of this "feast".
As I stated, we were really hungry and we ate what they served for the most part as we have done many time before. But the appetizers were either FILLED with OVERLY thick and sweet sauces - hiding the flavor of the food! We had the short rib tacos. Way too sweet. We also ordered the Fried Broccoli. I couldn't eat more than hlf of one. Disgustingly sweet. We would have been better off telling them to leave off all sauce.
My wife ordered the Grand Marinier Shrimp. Inedible! Gross. It's as if they dumped a pound of sugary syrup on top of the dish. She didn't touch her meal and took it home with her to be polite but tossed it as soon as we got home.
My son came with us. He had never been to JUST so we were pleased to have him join us. He ordered a medium rare 12 oz steak which was the consistency of rubber. I'm not kidding. It was the worst piece of beef I've ever seen or tasted. It, too, was inedible and? OVER COOKED. We should have sent it back, but we didn't want to kill the celebration buzz. His mashed potatoes were tasty...
As to my meal? I ordered the Filet Medallions, which, to the chef's credit, were tender and medium rare, as ordered. That said, it was SMOTHERED in a dark brown SAUCE. SMOTHERED! You couldn't really see the meat which was atop a piece of garlic toast. It, too, was gross. I had to scrape off the gravy where possible, but really? Shameful.
The best part of the meal was the pre-ordered Dessert Sampler. That we enjoyed.
Our server was lovely and did a solid job. The staff works hard.
But for a special occassion, JUST a mistake. Very inconsistent.
We will not be back - especially at these prices.
I'm sorry, I hate leaving negative reviews. But at the prices we paid for this meal, we deserved better.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience. The best part of the night was the crispy pork belly to start which was followed by a filet and NY strip - both made perfectly. The restaurant was decorated beautifully too and it was a nice place to dine in.

Following a second stop by 'Just' the other day for a Saturday evening dinner I can definitely just start by attesting to the superb quality of this restaurant and its food, especially the fresh entrees! I recommend the Korean Broccoli for a starter.
My partner and I had outstanding service from our waitress who had our food out very quickly and made sure we were taken care of, always providing fresh refills. After the tender short-rib and delicious shrimp pasta entrees we were very full and impressed by the authenticity of their cuisine and the immaculate flavors they brought us the other day.
I will definitely be coming back again sometime soon and trying their deserts as well if I can even fit them. For the great meal experience and valuable meal options you really cannot go wrong checking out what they have to offer.

Where to begin, the restaurant was very crowded and it seemed like they have never had that happen before. Everyone was running into each other and breaking glasses on the floor. "Had the benefit of sitting next to the kitchen door to watch the Chaos unfold" I understand times are tough and mayb it's all new and inexperienced workers but it was crazy. Multiple times they brought us out food that wasn't ours and didn't know where it went, also watched them do that to multiple tables. The food was sub par, but hopefully we just caught them on a bad day

The girls and I made dinner plans for this restaurant. When I arrived I parked in the parking lot. I walking in and it was slow so was able to sit anywhere. The ambiance was gorgeous. Kira was our server and she was so nice. I started with an Arnold Palmer but I wasn't feeling it so I went with the sangria which was tasty. For my entrée I got the honey chicken which was not on the menu but they made it for me. When the food came out everything looked good. I tasted my friend's short rib and the sauce it was in was not so good. The honey chicken wasn't great. I had to add salt to make it taste a bit better. I didn't finish it all. One of my girlfriends got the short rib ravioli and she liked it. There were mixed reviews of the food from our group. The bill came to about $50 with gratuity included. So, the ambiance was so nice, service was good but the food I had was not so great to me. We had a decent experience.

Booked a reservation here after reading the 4+ star rating. Arrived for a birthday dinner on a Monday evening and the place was fairly empty. Food was unreasonably expensive. A small side of ordinary streamed broccoli was $8. The main dishes were not particularly tasty and cost ~$30 each. One of them we tried to stomach but ultimately sent back to the kitchen. The waiter and chef themselves were nice but this restaurant simply wasn't good. Experience was unfortunate given are so many other nice restaurants in the to have wasted the evening here. Staff was nice so they get a second star but the food and prices were pretty bad.

I'm giving the second star because, pandemic. I had wanted to go to Just for awhile and never got around to it before things shut down. Last night I really wanted a good meal and did not want to cook. I felt burnt out on the usual suspects for take-out, so I thought I'd give Just a shot. Since I was ordering through door dash I thought I was playing it safe by ordering off of the "most popular" selections. $31 seemed a bit steep for the Honey Stung Fried Chicken, but it's $27 on the regular menu, so I thought, "this is going to be some amazing fried chicken". Um, I did not receive fried chicken. I received a lunch size portion of mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and maybe 8 chunks of chicken breast that appeared to be pan fried and tossed in sauce like Chinese orange chicken. The only other thing I ordered was the oreo zeppoles. They were pretty good, but be aware you only get 4 small batter covered oreos. As for the flavor of the entree, it was meh. There is onion in the mixed veg, which some people may not care for. The chicken was meh. I guess I still can't get over the fact that I paid $61 to get some fancy fried chicken delivered, and I did not get 1 piece of "fried chicken". Maybe someone over at Just can swing by Popeyes or KFC to take a looksee. I'm so mad at myself for not getting Heirlooms Kitchen's fried chicken when they were doing curbside pick-up. They have actual real fried chicken for TWO for $60.

The food was good. Not bad, not even close to the best. The prices on the other hand were WAY too high! I dont mind spending these prices but the quality and quantity need to match. We had 4 of us and it was almost $100 a person. We all had drinks, shared apps, meals and desserts. We absolutely indulged however we do whenever we go out. Again, food was good. Portions were mediocre. Our server was nice. It's just the high prices for what we got that would keep me from returning.

Being a restaurant manager myself, I want to commend the level of service and quality of the dishes being put out. I just want to start with our server, David A., he was incredible. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience incredible. He was quick to touch the table and greet us as well as fill our water glasses. He made sure our orders were flawless. My friend inquired about a component of her entree. She was pleased with the answer. He went and replaced it to what she thought it would be instead of what it actually was intended. His initiative and the kitchen's willingness to please the guest was beyond appreciated. He made a point to check in and update us all through our meal. It's hard to find this level of experience and attention to detail outside of Manhattan. The food was incredible. Definitely get the tuna cones! The table "bread", pretzels with mustard butter, were buttery, hot and fresh. A pleasant surprise. The Black Garlic short ribs and the Spicy Volcano Tuna were mouth watering. You can't go wrong with the cookie and cream dessert. The dulce de leche sauce on a gooey, soft, hot and chewy skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream made the meal finiah perfectly. I'm annoyed I didn't try this place sooner. This will be my number one recommendation from now on. Can't wait to go back again.

A year ago, i would tell people this was my favorite restaurant in NJ, and recommended it to everyone. Tonight, I was just left disappointed.
I arrived at 7:45 on a Friday, no one at the door to greet me, verify my reservation, seat me, anything. I made my way to the bar. Took ten minutes to get service, because she was making drinks, waiting tables, bussing, and ringing out. I ordered my standard Rob Roy. She was honest and told me she didn't know how to make it, so I taught her, explaining what scotch to use as well. Kudos to her for being professional enough to admit that.
My wife arrived a little later, and we were seated. It took about 10 minutes for her to get a drink. And another 10 to get bread, after we placed our order.
The octopus was plated on much too big a platter..photo is uploaded...that they found a need to fill with an awful arugula salad that was smothered in a sour dressing to minimize the small portion.. Last time I had it, the portion was larger, the ends were not burned, and the Asian slaw was not so wet.
For entrées....
She had the lobster ravioli. They gave you five ravioli that tasted like they were Josephs brand, some crustinis that were superfluous given how little sauce was present, and a small split tail that was left in the shell, requiring you to use your fingers in a creamy dish to remove it. Flavor was amazing. But falls short of the $40 price point.
I had a ribeye. The server told me it came with broccoli, at which point I made it very clear about my food allergy.to it. It came out with a pile of broccoli up against it. The chef himself personally came out and apologized . They told me they would take it off the bill and remake it for me anyway. When it came out, I have to say, that this is the best steak I've had since I worked in Manhattan in the early 90s. Bravo! Worth T
the $43. The mushroom risotto that came with it was prepared to absolute perfection. Although the truffle fries were very lacking in any kind of clean flavor. It was just a jumbled mess on the palette.
The dessert menu was uninspiring. Most of it was from a vendor.
The service....
They were frantic. Shorthanded. And disorganized. They tried, but you can only do so much. It left me feeling like I was in Applebee's. Bread came out with this wonderful whipped and softened mustard butter which went with the pretzel bread. But I had asked for regular as well, and got cold 1" slices off a stick. And that took ten minutes to get to us, long after the 2 rolls were finished.
The ambience was awful. Loud. Bright. Blue lighting. Wrong choice of music (I was told they were trying to attract more people and made a Spotify playlist). It was pop...z100 type. When I first arrived, there was a man playing Muzak versions of 80s pop on a guitar. Not the type of music you expect at a place like this, and not what it was a year ago.
To the owner...stop trying to change things to bring in business that will make you lose your core client base. Work on consistent food, better staffing such as having a hostess, putting an FOH manager on to run the floor, and go back to the ambience you had. And if you offer for something will be taken off the bill, don't leave it on there and tell me you comped a $20 worth of drinks and the dessert (which the server that ran it said was compliments of the manager, anyway) and tell me it works out to be the same as the $43 steak.
If you would like to discuss it, reply here with your number...I am sure you will find out from your staff my background, talk to your chef and to Christine. I will happily sit with you over coffee. I want to see you survive and go back to being the best restaurant in NJ again, not a place that falls far short of justifying the $150 for dinner (before any drinks) that you think you are.
