I like this place a lot, and I do plan on going again, but I have some mixed feelings with it as well. The food was great overall. Service was great, everyone was nice and helpful. But my issue is the Nigri. It's pretty inconsistent and not done properly. I guess it's a preference of the restaurant to cut the fish hanging off the rice on this round little ball of rice instread of the thick pad of rice it's normally presented on. It's just. . .such an odd choice. The fish isn't cut well at times. Looks a bit sloppy sometimes. The only nigri that was presented to me properly was the squid and eel that I had ordered.

But on the other hand, if you're someone who goes in for sushi rolls and not nigiri, then this is where this place really shines. Their rolls are really amazing. Flavorful and so well done. Some of the best rolls I've tried. My partner enjoyed a lot of their spicy rolls. I'm personally not a spice fan, so I was happy to enjoy a lot of their rich non-spicy rolls.

I would recommend this place overall. Service is great, the employees are attentive and kind. The atmosphere was very relaxed and easy going. Will probably go again soon. Especially since it's close by.

This place is Meh. We usually go to Sushi Neko for AYCE and we decided to try this place out as it was suggested by some people. Place is small, service is slow, the food isn’t as quality, their oysters were cloudy. The sushi rolls are just alright.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mr. Shota and I have to say, Lee made the experience truly exceptional. From the moment we sat down, his attentiveness stood out. He greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome right away, setting the tone for a great evening.

Lee was not only efficient but also genuinely fun to talk to. He has a great sense of humor and kept the energy at our table light and enjoyable. Whether it was recommending sushi rolls or chatting about the different dishes, he brought a personal touch that made us feel like more than just another table in the restaurant.

What really stood out, though, was how he kept the sushi coming without us ever feeling rushed or forgotten. He checked in just the right amount—not too much to interrupt the flow of conversation but enough to make sure we were always taken care of. It felt like he truly cared about ensuring we had the best experience possible.

The sushi itself was fantastic, but honestly, Lee's service was the cherry on top. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and quick service made the meal memorable. If you're thinking about trying Mr. Shota Sushi, I highly recommend asking for Lee—he’ll make sure you leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face!

Yikes. This place is a disgrace to the world of sushi.

The service was good, but the RICE IS HORRENDOUS. They do not make it right. I couldn't eat the rice and got charged for wasting food.

Parking is easy in their parking lot that is shared with other businesses in this shopping plaza.

All day price is $29.95 per person for all-you-can-eat. Not bad..and the menu is extensive, but I don't recommend getting the rolls here. They have a special lower price for late night eating starting at 9 PM.

Our servers were so chill and were super on top of the things we kept adding to our order. Lovely service and great food for the price. My party got there around 4:30, well before the dinner rush, so we didn't have to wait at all. There are gendered bathrooms but it's one toilet per gender, so I feel it would be beneficial for everyone if both bathrooms were for all genders (to keep the flow going and avoid long lines from forming), but I do appreciate the barstools that were set out for the "line".

Great deal for the all day AYCE special at $29.95 per person. A few dollars less expensive than their other restaurant Savana Sushi. Their nigiri has a nice size piece of fish with a smaller portion of rice. Perfect for not filling up on rice too fast. There are lots of choices on their extensive menu although some choices which as uni are a limit of one order. We were quite impressed with the food and the service was prompt and attentive. If you like sushi, I recommend you try out this place. We went on a Thursday about 11:30 and there was not wait.

Food selection is really good and service was pretty good. Everything we ate was worth another order, we stuffed ourselves as much as we could. Was a bit thrown off that my id wasn't valid since apparently the dob has to be on the back not the front of the card. I couldn't order a drink, but it was the least of my worries. Although we had one consistent server, others would deliver the food which caused some confusion when they didn't specify what the order was or who it belonged to. Overall good experience.

I recently dined at Mr. Shota's all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Kim, was incredibly attentive and friendly. She went out of her way to ensure that my daughter, who has a seafood and dairy allergy, could eat safely.

The food was excellent, especially the nigiri, which I highly recommend. I also tried the "Nezuko" roll, which was delicious, though the portion was so generous that I couldn't eat much else afterwards.

It's important to note that this may not be the best place for those with seafood and dairy allergies. Even dishes that typically don't contain these ingredients, like the kalbi and teriyaki chicken, were advised against due to possible cross-contamination.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Mr. Shota. The food quality and service were both excellent. Highly recommended!

I go here regularly. They have a great happy hour AYCE deal (that people line up for) starting at 9pm every day.

However, they started limiting the amount of food you can order at a time after I've been going there pretty regularly. First, there was no restriction on how much to order at a time.

Second to last time I went there, they said we were limited to 20 orders of nigiri at a time.

Now, it's 15 orders of nigiri at a time and 5 rolls at a time.

I don't think it's unreasonable (probably only affects big eaters like in my group aha), and it's the best priced sushi we know of in Vegas. It's likely management told them to more strictly enforce the time limit for AYCE and implemented, save on food costs ofc, but also to make it less hard on the cooks who seem to be moving constantly.

It's still our group's regular spot ✌️

Review №100

We like the food here, just finding it a little rude that for the 2nd time, they asked us to leave while we were eating dessert. The 1st time was insinuated (last year?), this time was an outright request. Our fam didn’t order that much for AYCE, and I kept cleaning the table, aware that our 2 kids *could* leave a mess. The kids were using our phones to watch YT kids shows, and were not running around, or screaming.

We had been there about 1 hr., and would’ve been done eating our dessert shortly, just waiting for the to-go box, when a staffer approached us and asked us to vacate the table, as they could really use it. As far as I know, they give patrons 1.5 hrs to dine. We paid around $130 for 2 adults and ala carte items for our son, tipping 18%. We were paying the all-day rate, not happy hour, so we were spending more, too. Not saying we had *more* of a right to be there - but was it asking too much to allow us to finish dessert and wait for the to-go box?

Happy hour had started about 30 mins. prior. We didn’t see a single person waiting in line, or by the door, and there were even a couple of empty tables. We've had this experience nowhere else but Mr Shota, and we’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants - here in the US, Asia, Europe & South America. Will some businesses really compromise good customer service in exchange for profit? Is the message like, "OK, looks like we can't make more $ from you - get out"?

I work at a hotel. Imagine if I were to knock at a guest's door at 9AM, before their official check-out time of 11AM, and go, "Hi there. Are you still using your room? Not really? We could really use it, we have a lot of guests coming in today."

This was a bad experience. I learned about this place from my sister and after speaking with her about this, she said they also hadn't been to Mr Shota in a while, because of a server that would often ignore their additional orders, and (she believes, at least) her son got the runs after eating here with his brother the other week.

AYCE was $29 per person, including a generous cup of ice cream at the end (coffee, matcha, strawberry, or vanilla).
The nigiri sushi selection is small but fresh. We enjoyed several cut rolls, which were excellent proportions of rice to fish & other components. Half sizes of cut rolls are also available. The lemon salmon roll was our favorite, as well as the yellowtail yuzu nigiri.

I’ve been here before and it was good. I always over tip $100 on a $70 bill. However, today I went to eat lunch here with my daughter and service was horrible. I ordered all you can eat sushi and started off with a California roll and shrimp skewer. My daughter(7 years old) orders a California roll as well. They had two servers (guy and a girl) bring both rolls at the same time while they are joking and laughing about it because that’s all we ordered. Pissed me off that my daughter was part of their mockery. I guess ordering a California roll is a joke to them. After that I didn’t order anything else and asked for the check. $42 and I left them a $10 tip because even though they make fun of their customers they still have to make money. It will just be the last time they ever make money from me.

I 100% got food poisoning from eating here. The funny thing is, the only dish I had that my party didn't was the lemon shrimp roll.

The rest of my party had the yuzu yellowtail with jalapeno and a bunch of of other sashimi and we're totally fine.

So I guess if you go here DONT ORDER THE ROLLS. 😅

I took one bite and it did not taste good, I wanted to spit it out but that's so rude. Next time I will because by the next afternoon I had chills, body aches, headache, projectile vomiting, and developed a fever of 100.7.

It has to be the sushi because that's the only meal I ate that day and it takes food poisoning 24 hours to set in.

I'm really disappointed because the service is so amazing and I really enjoyed hanging out there.

I called the health department and left a message but they haven't called me back yet.

Service: waitress 5/10, poor attitude but did come and check on us every so often so not horrible but not as good as we have had in the past.

Atmosphere: this is the reason for my review. I went to use the restroom and the women’s was being used, so I went in the men’s room and I saw multiple cockroaches crawling on the walls. I wanted to leave immediately. I didn’t even wanna finish my food.

AYCE Sushi and Tapas was suprisingly good! I liked it better than Jjanga. The portions were perfect. We came at 5 on a Saturday and had a 25
minute wait for 2. It was busy, the staff was amazing and attentive, plates cleared. We tried a little bit of everything and everything was delicious! The music isn’t great under a speaker but the food is worth it! Definitely will be back.

I've passed this spot several times and decided one day to stop by. I should have followed the crowd sooner! It's a new favorite sushi spot for me that's easy on the wallet, and sushi is delicious! Service is on point. Move over whatever the other sushi place was. Go here.

I have been here 3 times and it has not disappointed! The wait service can leave a bit to be desired, but the food comes out fairly quickly and is delicious.

Looks prettier on social media, when we walked in it looked as if no one had done a deep cleaning in a while.
Golden rule: if the restroom of the restaurant is filthy, the kitchen is worst.
After getting our table, we placed our stuff down and used to restroom. Immediately after sitting down we were asked if we were ready to order. We never even got a chance to look at the menu, and we were being rushed to order.
The floors were also sticky, slippery and dirty.
Go to OYSHI or any other choice.

So this is my second time coming here. Can’t believe I never tried it after seeing it so many times but I had my favorites I used to go to. I came here after oyshi lost its customer service and fish quality . Second time I came here was after oyshi on rainbow. I went there sat at the bar like I usually do since I used to go there every week but this time the manager Pete was soo rude . I asked the guy sweeping vigorously when there was open fish and sauce laying around so I asked if he can kinda kick it down a notch since customers were there so he didn’t speak no English so when I asked the manager if he can tone it down a notch he asked if the the hostess know I’m seated (I’m the only one at the bar😒.) so I said I let her know yes but he said that guy sweeping isn’t violating the health code . Like who says that. So then he said if I didn’t like that I can leave 😵‍💫so I left . And I’m glad I did. I will never go there again. I gave them another chance .people need to learn how to provide customer service and common sense if you want your business to stay afloat 🤷🏻‍♀️. My family has had Italians restaurants and I’ve been in the hospitality business for decades . I definitely recommend business teaching customer service in this day n age. You will make a lot of money because it’s very rare to find nowadays . It’s a shame . But this place gives it all. Customer service ambiance and food quality piecing is just right. 🙌🏽🫶🏼🤌🏽highly recommend this place. Hasn’t disappointed me yet and I am an honest critic .

I told the waiter I had allergies and ordered a simple order of just plain fish (sashimi) with a side of lemon. I expressed multiple times I am allergic to onion and garlic. The only item of food I ordered was brought out with onions on top. I reminded them I am anllergic and they pretended to replace the fish, but really just scraped the onion off. Additionally I was told they have to charge my 8$ for some fancy sashimi with everything except the fish excluded, rather than the 4$ nigiri without rice.
They should replace their servers with iPads if they can only give me the exact items off the menu. If I wasn’t with a big party where gratuity was included, I would have not tipped at all.

Sushi was mid, would never recommend .

This is my favorite (All You Can Eat) AYCE place in Las Vegas. I have been to two others that cost more and have higher star rates.

The rolls are good, not the best I have had (too much cream cheese and not enough avocado). The BBQ, soups, and Bolgogi are great. The sashimi is awesome and definitely stood out. The price is fair given the quality of the food. Order all the items that are "limit one" per person and you will get your money's worth.

We recently learned about this new sushi bar, impressed by the reviews and of course the prices, which are quite reasonable compared to many other establishments. Yesterday we decided to check it out and were pleasantly surprised! Service is excellent, kitchen and waiters work quickly and smoothly, not bad cocktails, especially strawberry 🍓 unfortunately there is no refill function for regular drinks. As for the dishes, the choice is great, rolls, sushi, but you need to read the menu carefully, as many of them are spicy, and if you as well as I feel bad from spicy, be careful.
I liked the shrimp in coconut with cream sauce and sushi with salmon caviar the most. Everything is super, I recommend to visit 👍🏼

Rolls are always fresh and delicious. I LOVE the fact that you can order 1/2 rolls!!!
Alot of ALCE sushi restaurants only serve full rolls, so if you are trying something new amd you end up not liking it, definitely kind of sucks to get full on a roll that you don't particularly care for.
On the 🍣 side, very large clean and fresh slices of fish compared to the rice it sits upon.
This is my GO TO when I want to have a great meal and just chill with a large Asahi to drink.....

I find this place very interesting. Luckily we came early to find ample tables are available. Before long, it’s packed.
Food is served promptly after order is taken. What can you complain about?
Sushi is very fresh. Neta (ネタ) is fresh, Shari (シャリ) is just right, just so you can try a good variety.

Have been so excited to try this place and it was extremely disappointing. Nothing tasted fresh at all. Server was non existent and she was super rude. Half way through it switched to a different guy server, he was good. Place has a fantastic vibe and if the food was better it would be a weekly spot.

Greeted upon entry and seated immediately for lunch.
Had the All You Can Eat option.
My group had a total of nine rolls.
They looked great. Very pleasing.
They tasted just okay. The fish toppings on each roll was the displeasing part. The eel was more mushy than anything. The snapper did not bite through and was chewy as well. The scallops were very chewy and did not taste fresh.
Of the nine rolls i did really like the Whatbthe Wong Roll.

Service and bussers were on point, did their part and left. Not a lot of small talk, which I prefer. Edamame Shrimp lover, vegas roll (without cream cheese), baked scallop, baked lobster, monkey d Luffy were really good! Full moon's tangy sauce was too tangy for my liking. Plenty of options for sushi rolls. More selection of ice cream flavors than other sushi restaurants. Love the little anime character figurines on display!

Decor is nothing special but it's home and comfortable. But sometimes they play some loud music with suggestive lyrics... maybe it's part of the game plan to make customer leave faster? Idk.. I did bring my nephew once and I felt like I had to cover his ears for a few songs

Horrible service. The attendant, a boy no older than 22 years old, who said he was the manager, said I was the next one to have a table and for me to wait 35 minutes and offered me to sit at a counter, we accepted and he started passing people in front of us. I asked him how many were in front of me, and he told me that I was no longer on the list because I agreed to sit at the counter. And that he wasn't going to do anything to change that.

Might be best for a younger crowd, not the best for families, although I did see people bring their kids. Sort of a loud and laid back feeling. Overall great, just not my style, but would recommend to a younger crowd.

Solid 4.5 star. Service was good, super fast to start and at order 3 slowed down and order 6 was very slow. But usually what happens at AYCE places. The food was great the short rip was amazing! Only complaint was the Uni, tasted bitter and over briney and unfresh and the Qual eggs were lacking in flavor complexity very basic egg rice and nori. But everything else was good if not great. I will be back!

Get the I've cream it's great

AYCE sushi was $29.95 total with tax for 2 was $65.

My family and I live in Centennial Hills and used to frequent Umami. Some time within the last year, they are no longer allowing strollers. My nephew who was in town from Seattle was really wanting to go there again but we had to try somewhere else. After remembering the posts I had seen about Mr Shota, we decided to try there. We called and they do allow strollers. We were seated and welcomed politely. The first time we went there, the waiter patiently explained some food items we weren’t familiar with. The food there is fantastic especially for the price. Another time we went there we were again scared we wouldn’t be welcome because of our stroller use and were surprised with how the host handled our seating. Nice, patient and made sure we weren’t forgotten. Thank you Mr Shota! The drive there is always worth it for us. Can’t wait to go again. Everything we’ve had there is really good but we definitely highly recommend the eel nigiri!

Been wondering about this place for years now and we finally went. It's AYCE which is awesome and totally worth it. They had so many items to choose from and it was hard to choose and to make sure I paced myself so that I can try as much items as I can. The only item that I honestly was disappointed with was their quail egg. I thought it was your typical quail egg that was hard-boiled but it wasn't, it was the actual egg, raw wrapped in seaweed. It was not good and I was so sad that's how they prepared it. But other than that, everything we ordered was good and the service was excellent. They always checked on our table and they were very helpful. Portions were small which is perfect so that we can try a lot of items. I would definitely come back again.

Nous avons une préférence pour les shushis, le poisson recouvre et dépasse généreusement le riz même pour les shushis anguilles qui sont exceptionnel. A chaque fois que nous passons à Las vegas, nous ne manquons pas d'y aller plusieurs fois.
