Contemporary kitchen offering classic & unique sushi options & Japanese entrees, plus tasting menus.
For the price, food was average but presentation made it look more expensive. Very disappointed bec they had no UNI. Only a few tables YET they forgot one order. Happy hour price was better than actual dinner price. We were celebrating our anniversary so the FREE dessert (churros with matcha ice cream) was amazing 5★. Didn't like my lychee sake so without even asking our server replaced it with a lychee martini which was really good! We didn't get charged for the cocktail! I would not go back! Didn't get a wow factor in the food!

Love this local spot! I have to come back for happy hour :)

Sushi is good, sashimi is fresh but definitely not the best we’ve ever had. Skip the grilled octopus,(where is the octopus?) you’ll thank me later. Very expensive dinner for me and my daughter and we didn’t order drinks just had bottled water $194 out the door. $10 Evian water, Yikes 😬

Very cool ambiance, great service and good food. Very interested in the fact that they are adding Omakase soon, we will come back and try.
We typically go to the same sushi places over and over so we decided to try something new and off the beaten path.
The prices here are great and we received are order pretty quickly along with the drinks and extra ginger/wasabi.

I am told that a great work of art is never truly finished, that the work never ends. After just one visit to Soho Japanese Restaurant, I now understand what that means.
Clearly the great Yelpers of Las Vegas have collectively cried out the praises of this understated little gem in the southwest valley. Not only does it rank top among sushi restaurants in Las Vegas, it ranks tops among ALL restaurants in Las Vegas. That little tidbit has to be making some of this town's "legendary" chefs red in the face. Someone should tell those people at Michelin they are dinosaurs - no wait, never-mind, let them figure it out.
You see when it comes down to it, it's quite simple - if you do something great, people will notice. And it's clear, Soho does great better than anyone in Vegas.
The first thing you notice when you walk into Soho is that no world renowned restaurant decor consultancy group was brought in to "class the place up", like they do in most 5 star restaurants. Soho is a simple, friendly, comfortable and welcoming environment - a 5 star restaurant that won't make you feel like you're not good enough to be there (what a concept.)
The staff are regular people, just like you and me. But management is obviously treating these people with a little respect because it's quite clear they all love working there - it shows in absolutely everything they do. Imagine great service at a 5 star restaurant from friendly people who don't look down their nose at you (are you guys starting to see a trend here?)
But you really don't appreciate how good you have it until the food arrives. It's easy to get so comfortable here that you can forget you are about to partake in one amazing meal. All that changes once you take the first bite. For us it was the Uni Trio - just Wow! (Thank you sir, may I please have another.)
I know what you're thinking, what does a boy who grew up in Fargo, North Dakota know about sushi? Wouldn't he be dead last on the list of people you should trust on the subject? (Hey Buddy, you forgot to cook this!)
Fair enough.
The truth is, you're just going to have to decide for yourself. No amount of banter from me is going to change your mind,so I'll leave that up to the marvelous people at Soho, they are better suited to the task.

We had a large party of 15 on NYE. We ordered quite a bit and everything we ordered was excellent. It was our last meal in Las Vegas before heading back to the Bay Area and it was the best. Everyone agreed that the wagyu burger was much better than what they had at Gordon Ramsey the previous night. The octopus was cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back.

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant . After sitting down and placing our order, our drinks arrived, but to my shock and horror, I saw a cockroach crawling on the plate and scurrying across the table. We left immediately. When I informed the server, she casually asked, ‘What size was it?’—clearly indicating they are aware of their pest problem. Absolutely disgusting! You should eat here at your own risk.

The food was superb, my grandchild especially love the black stone steak appetizer and of course everyone enjoyed the short ribs, salmon and OMG the crispy brussel sprouts were amazing. Justin and the rest of the staff were so nice and was always at hand to help us with our orders. I would definitely recommend this place.

We have been eating here since the day the opened.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of traditional Japanese dishes, and everything we try is simply delicious. The sushi is fresh, and the presentation is stunning. I highly recommend the chef's special rolls (and anything from the happy hour menu).
The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring we are always well taken care of. Their passion for the food really shines through.
If you're in Las Vegas and craving authentic Japanese cuisine, Soho Japanese is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

We love SoHo Sushi! Their Miso soup and their new fried rice dishes aren’t my personal favorites, but their Sushi, Sashimi cuts (such as the Hamachi Yuzu, Cajun Albacore, and Escolar Carpaccio) and Firecracker roll are to die for! Everything there is served amazingly fresh and made to order. A must try in Vegas!

We used to go here all the time pre-pandemic. The food was always excellent. We recently moved back to Vegas and decided to go back to what used to be our favorite sushi spot. We weren't necessarily disappointed in the change of happy hour menu pricing. That's to be expected. However, the quality of the food was below standard. The short rib fried rice for $18 lacked any kind of seasoning or flavor. The bang bang shrimp tasted so fishy that we sent it back. The gyoza was a frozen product....it was just not good. I can go anywhere and get these items for the same price, better quality and not on a "happy hour" menu like you are doing us a favor. The best thing we ate were the crispy brussel sprouts. So disappointed because we used to eat here every week.

I loved this place. It's been my go to restaurant for so long. I take family and friends here. I encourage anyone who asks for dinner recommendations to go.
Having said that I have noticed the quality slipping over the last few months. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't as good as it use to be. Until today.
My friend and I decided to order takeout. We ordered tempura shrimp, the plate not a roll, bang bang shrimp, lamb chops and gyoza. Simple enough. The waitress specifically asked if we wanted a tempura roll or plate. I said not the roll please, a plate.
We got our food. I should have checked but I didn't. That's my fault. We get home and the first box we open is the tempura shrimp roll. I specifically said no roll. Checked the receipt, it said roll. Then the bang bang shrimp, my absolute favorite dish on the menu. I don't know what it was they gave us but it wasn't bang bang shrimp in addition to the fact that it was so spicy it was inedible. I get this dish all the time. It's never looked or tasted like this before.
The lamb chops come with confit potatoes. Again whatever spicy sauce they are using made the potatoes inedible.
We threw it all in the trash except the gyoza. $60 in the trash.
Maybe not a big deal to some people but $60 is a big deal when it just goes straight to the trash. We went to the Chevron and got chicken. At least with them I know the quality I'm expecting.
I loved this place so much but again the quality has been slipping and this was just it for me. I won't go there anymore and I won't recommend it anymore.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a hidden gem that has left an indelible mark on my culinary experiences. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the staff greeted us with warm smiles, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable meal.
We started with some classic dishes: miso soup, seaweed salad, and a sashimi platter. While these are staples in many Japanese restaurants, what set them apart here was the chef's extraordinary touch. The miso soup was perfectly balanced, with a depth of flavor that hinted at hours of meticulous preparation. The seaweed salad was crisp and refreshing, with a delightful hint of sesame that complemented the natural flavors of the seaweed.
The sashimi was the star of the show. Unlike the thin slices you often get elsewhere, these pieces were thick and long, showcasing the quality and freshness of the fish. Each bite was a revelation, bursting with flavor and melting in our mouths. The presentation was immaculate, reflecting the chef's attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
One of the most surprising aspects of our visit was the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty. Given the exceptional quality of the food, we were shocked that more people weren't flocking to this place. It almost felt like we had discovered a secret that we couldn't wait to share.
The chef's hospitality added another layer to our delightful experience. He graciously gifted us some tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), and it was divine. Light, fluffy, and slightly sweet, it was a testament to the chef's versatility and skill. We devoured every dish, not leaving a single crumb behind, which is a true testament to how delicious everything was.
After such an extraordinary meal, we couldn't resist trying the dessert, and we opted for mochi. It turned out to be the best dessert ever. The chewy layer on the outside had the perfect consistency and thickness, with just the right amount of flour so it didn’t stick to our mouths or teeth. The mango flavor was outstanding, tasting incredibly real and fresh. The same goes for the strawberry and green tea flavors. We enjoyed the mochi so much that we ordered another round. It was a delightful end to our meal, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.
Despite being from Houston, we couldn't help but wish this restaurant was closer to home. If it were, we would undoubtedly become regular patrons. Its location, a bit off the beaten path from the Strip, might deter some visitors, but I assure you, making the trip is more than worth it. Missing out on this culinary treasure while in Las Vegas would be a regretful oversight.
In summary, this restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience that goes beyond just good food. It's about the passion and craftsmanship of the chef, the warm hospitality, and the authentic flavors that transport you straight to Japan. Whether you're a local or a visitor, do yourself a favor and make this place a priority on your dining list. You won't be disappointed.

We tried this place off of the reviews, and wow, it did not disappoint! The service was awesome, Justin was the best, he took very good care of us. Very knowledgeable, his recommendations were on point, and he made dinner fun and enjoyable.
The food, top notch. Everything tasted so good, fresh, and flavorful.
My favorite was the Sanriku Roll, but the Roulette Roll was the best part of dinner. If you like to have fun and are a little adventurous, this is a must try….that’s all I will say.
Salmon Skin Salad, Hamachi Serrano Yuzu, Salmon Lover Roll, and Salmon avocado roll were all so good. We will be back….when you come in, ask for Justin, you won’t be disappointed.

We pretty much ordered every thing in the happy hour menu which was wide-ranging and had an enormous choice of beverages and food items. The cost is amazing! Each food item was truly remarkable and extremely delicious. We loved everything we purchased. The demo was delightful although each dish not only tasted amazing. The service was likewise outstanding: our waiter came often check on us to see if we were doing fine and to refill our drinks. The chef also came out to talk to all of the patrons.
Highly recommend!! My new favourite Japanese restaurant in town!

Very impressed with this place. The ambience inside was spot on. I take notice of not only upscale, clean-feeling interiors (nice marble surfaces here!), but music as well. It was a modern electronic sounding music that gave it a great vibe. I would recc it for dates too (reminds me of Taru sushi a little actually). Any sushi place in Vegas can do a decent roll and fresh sashimi, but on my first visit, this place impressed me for both sushi presentation and price both. Looking forward to going back!!!

Wow wow, what an amazing meal. All the sushi we had was tremendous. I'll go here before paying the crazy high prices on The Strip. The nigiri was especially good - a very small cluster of rice, instead of thumb size slab of rice, with the freshest piece of fish laying on top. I'm going here every trip to Vegas!

My how things have changed. No great happy hour menu like in the past. I was given a menu and was informed it was happy hour and just take off 30 percent of a small selection of items. Many of our favorite items no longer on happy hour
Thanks So-Ho all the great memories and times we had in the past years. Good Luck to new owners.

New ownership. The sushi was okay but the menu has changed as well and not quite as diverse. They charge you for the sushi roll but then on our receipt they charge you an extra $2 for cutting it. All five of our rolls got an extra $2 charge. Kinda miss leading. They remodeled the inside, it looks nice. We won't be coming back though.

Under new ownership and definitely not the experience it was in the past. Still a good restaurant, just not a great restaurant. We've dined there for over 8 yrs and their happy hour had ppl lined out the door. A reservation 2 days in advance was necessary if you wanted in. Tonight restaurant was not even half full. New furniture and a new table lay out and lighting that don't work at all. Service is still very friendly and the food we ordered was overall good, just not what it used to be.

Two of us walked in in lunch time and restaurant was less than 30% full. But was asked to wait while the waitress went about entertaining others. Ten minutes went by but nothing happened. We were waiting to see what her game plan was. The chefs and folks in the kitchen saw us wait in a relatively empty restaurant but didn’t do anything. A good restaurant would sit their customers down first. This is the second time this happened to me at this restaurant. Please train your waiters. I used to be a loyal customer but I wouldn’t set foot on this restaurant ever again. I have never been treated with such disrespect anywhere. I’m in food business myself and I know how important customer service is. Many of your customers may not care and would still rate you high but such a business model is not sustainable.

We arrived with no crowd no table reserved on and was told there is a ten min wait ?????????? Wth ? Just bec she serving others that is seated she ask us to wait till she is free??? Don't u think u should seat the customers first!!!!!!! Is she doing this on purpose I have never heard of this before . She only had 4 customers she can't be that stress. My husband was so mad he walk out. I stay bec I wanted an explanation, I ask her and she said bec she is by herself and could not get to us. I have been to restaurants where there is only one server and the restaurant is packed and we were seated. I have never ever experienced this bf. It was not packed. If she seated us and gave us the menu we would have taken a few mins to look at the menu and by that time she would be ready. What is this? 101 server training ???? We have been loyal customers for years, brought friends out of town now we not coming back no matter how good the food is.

All of the sushi was super fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed the creativity including the salmon sashimi w pop rocks. Also the flying fish roll was great. We have visited Soho once before; We went with the idea to enjoy their happy hour menu and prices (3-6 pm) We arrived at 5:15 (we made a reservation) The staff acknowledged our reservation and said please wait a moment; We had a 7 person reservation and there was no table prepared before we arrived; No problem, we can wait but I insisted that the delay in seating be added to the happy hour time; After we were seated, I had to ask 3 times for menus so we can begin our order; There were 5 restaurant people on the floor but no one was serving the largest group in the room; That being said, after those delays we had a great time; The food was very good; Many selections from the happy hour $5, $7 and $9 choices;
I would definitely suggest giving Soho a try if you enjoy sushi and Japanese small plates

Update 1/2/23—
The happy hour now costs 7-9$ per plate and the quality has gone from one of the best japanese fusion restaurants in the country to laughable. The build quality is worse than a dodge from the 90’s and the service is even slower. The fish is pretty good quality, but they don’t even know how to use a rice cooker, some of the rice is soggy and some is hard. Unfortunately the new owner has run this place into the ground…too bad chef john isn’t running this place anymore.
—-
The happy hour at soho is the best in las vegas. I love the sliders, mt fuji roll, salmon avocado roll and salmon avocado tartar. I used to love the tostadas here, but ever since they made it a dish that you have to build your own, I don’t like them nearly as much, I am pretty useless at building my own. During their happy hour from 3-7, they offer about a dozen dishes for $5 each. This quality of sushi and sashimi would cost you 3 or 4 times more on the strip. Chef john is an incredibly nice guy and he often sends some sashimi over as compliments of the chef. I find very little to complain about here, I wish I could take this place back to Spain with me.

I only leave reviews if something is really good, or really bad.
My girlfriend and I just made a 2 week tour of SoCal and Vegas. I think this restaurant was the best of all the culinary experiences we had during our several weeks of visiting my home (the US). Of note, we went at lunchtime, and were there during what they call "happy hour." I think it was a weekday. Sake was $5 and all plates were between 5 and 8 dollars, I think.
Things that were awesome:
- Food: There are a lot of options on the menu. Everything we ordered was amazing. It's kind of cool that it is a small plate menu with lots of different things to try. Presentation also great. Best dishes we had (that I remember) were the crispy brussels sprouts (really, really good), and some of the more traditional sushi. Though pop rock sashimi was certainly interesting to try as well.
- Service: Excellent. Waiter was very chill and helpful. Chefs seemed cool too.
- Value for money: Very good for Vegas. This is a high end dining experience for normal money. Also, they do a $5 house sake which is great (and I lived in Japan for 3 years) and plenty to share amongst two people. We got two of them.
- Parking: Easy, free parking (it's in a strip mall).
Nothing I didn't like. Awesome restaurant.

Fresh and tasty sushi. Nice and cold Japanese beer on tap. Reasonable price. Great services. Will definitely be back when visiting Vegas.

All the sushi rolls came out smothered in eel sauce with tiny slices of fish that were best suited to tweezers than chopsticks

The best of the best. While on the strip, they rip you off with ridiculously overpriced sushi places, this is the place to go. Would come to vegas just to go to soho. For years, the quality has maintained the same level. Benchmark for everything else.

Super food, service and atmosphere. Absolutely love everything here. They took super good care of us tonight because they were completely full and managed to get us a table. 5 stars, deserves 10.....!!!

If your a first timer...they don't explain to you how the menu works...Didn't care for the green mussels...the ingredient (possibly vinegar) didn't compliment the dish...Sushi was expensive...have a better place in Summerlin more affordable...1 small scallop $3-$4...even though it was happy hour..still a little pricey ..I will come back next time for the grilled octopus or Lambchop dish...place opens at 12....I was still very hungry...went to Soho Burrito..Same owner...love the food there

I wanted to pickup sushi within happy hour, unfortunately they didn't allow it and charge a full price. The ONLY reason I don't wanted to dine-in was Covid-19. In the first wave of Covid, they allowed happy hour prices for pickups, so I really don't understand this decision and will stop ordering because I feel it's unfair.
Food was good and it was a good spot but greedy now? Disappointing.
Also I wanted to state that last time I've been there (approx. 2 months ago) there was no A/C - it seems like they frugal about it, only fans.

I liked this place. We went for lunch. Very nice: the menu is divided by dollar prices, starting around 5 bucks. Think Japanese tapas and you'd be right. We probably ordered 6, or 7, things; edamame, unagi sushi, spicy tuna, albacore, kalbi, a California roll and maybe another item, or two. These, exceot as noted, are not sushi, but little samplers on plates - again, think tapas.
We're definitely going back. They have a ramen restaurant next door, if you prefer more sizeable portions. Either way, this place is good.

This was our 1st experience and WOW!!! I love the freshness, the staff is doing great with the physical distancing of the diners; and making sure that every table is thoroughly cleaned after each sitting; this immediately put my mind at ease. We ordered Japanese style tapas, there are so many choices with each price point. The quality and freshness top notch! After I put in my order I realized I did not order any Sashimi and was going to change it but the items I was going to remove are highly recommended, so I took the advise of our knowledgeable server Anton and left my order "as it was"... I am glad I listened! Everything was delicious! the BANG BANG Shrimp; Salmon Lover roll; Salmon & Avocado roll; Shrimp Tempura roll; Korean Short rib; Crispy Gyoza; to name a few! I almost forgot... don't forget to ask for the "pickled WASABI!!!" The flavor profile that it adds! Next level!!! The portions are great; the flavor, the textures! I cannot wait to go back! My next review will include lots of Sashimi!!! This is my new favorite spot! I recommend it highly!

This place is absolutely incredible! We went during happy hour and we got to try a bunch of small plates/sushi, which is great if you want to try a little bit of everything! The sashimi melts in your mouth and is so fresh. It was one of the best Japanese restaurants that I have ever been to in my life.
When we went, we had to make a reservation, so just check or call the restaurant cause it gets pretty busy during happy hour and dinner time.
I highly recommend this restaurant and the servers were very nice and helpful! I also suggest getting dessert cause it was just the icing on the cake after the amazing meal we had.

Kevin (or Keven, as our ticket said...lol) our server was awesome, very attentive and personable.
We had an array of several dishes, as well both flavors the jelly & infused sakes.
SoHo never disappoints!
