The contemporary Japanese design of Morimoto Las Vegas combines delicate Japanese beauty and elegance, with exotic photographs by Yasumichi Morita, to create a stunning restaurant with an array of sushi and Japanese dishes. From the moment guests arrive, they will begin to experience Las Vegas in a new way; The Morimoto way.
Cannot recommend enough! Went in for dinner with some friends and everything was outstanding - the service (Ken was our server), the food, and the atmosphere. I got the Chilean Sea Bass and it was the absolute flakiest I've ever had. The Brussels sprouts were another favorite, and of course the beef carpaccio! The desserts were amazing as well - it was my first time trying the Japanese cheesecake and it was SO light and fluffy, I don't think I can go back to NY cheesecake after that! Be prepared to spend some $$$ but it's absolutely worth it!

We walked right in to sit at the bar at opening without a reservation. The bartender was an excellent server and served our drinks and took our orders quickly. Food was served very quickly and it was phenomenal. The braised cod was so flavorful and buttery, it melts on your tongue.

My wife and I have looked in many times on previous trips and finally decided to try it out this time. I was between a 4 and a 5 on this one, but went with a 4 simply because at the price I shouldn't be questioning it.
My wife had a couple pieces of vegetable sushi to start and I had the gyoza. She loved hers. Mine were good but not outstanding.
For dinner she the 8oz prime filet, and I went with a 10 piece sushi combo. I had a couple bites of her steak as she couldn't finish it and let me say, I have never had a steak that tender. Very very good.
My combo was strong. I found the eel a over-sauced so I couldn't taste it as much as I'd like, but it was otherwise a very good mix of flavors.
I'm not sure I'll be back. I've had better $300+ dinners, but I definitely don't regret going.
But I'd recommend the steak. :)

Very nice place. Food is Excellent minus the pork over rice. Pork could have been thicker and the dish overall more flavorful. The pork gyoza had more flavor. Not worth the ~$40. The pan fried pork gyoza was probably the best I've ever had. Also the ribeye steak was probably the best I've ever had too. Really tender and flavorful with the sauce. I've been to quite a few steak houses too. The side of duck fried rice was good. The Chef's choice sushi was good too...very fresh. The service here is excellent!!! The waiter and busboy were great. I was told Morimoto needs to show up to restaurant 4 times a year which I think is great and more celeb chefs should do it. I would return here overall and recommend.

Loved having dinner at Morimoto! Here is a breakdown of the food we ordered.
Miso Soup: delicious savory soup with silken tofu, a nice start to the meal.
Sticky Ribs: some of the better Asian ribs I’ve had. You can tell the meat was high quality and the mandarin glaze was absolutely amazing. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
Chasu Pork: this was a great dish that they assemble tableside in a hot stone bowl! Eye catching plating and presentation of this dish. The food itself was solid but nothing amazing, but still a super fun dish to order.
Soy Braised Cod: loved this dish! A soy braised cod is always solid and this one hit all the marks. Tender fish with a delicious sweet soy glaze.
Morimoto Old Fashioned: this drink was delicious made with Japanese whiskey and brown sugar syrup. A great drink to accompany the meal.
The service was professional, we got great recommendations from the server. The vibe was classy and elegant but had the Vegas flair. Overall great dinner!!

Majority of the food were nice, but just some very icky points that I can’t stand!
For a place that demands minimum 20% tip, well the service better be up to scratch. When booking a table and you get told don’t be late because you have grace period of however long, I expect damn well my table better be ready and on time! My 10% tip was so against my will but I didn’t want to leave no tip.
We booked our table for 6:45pm, we arrive at 6:43pm and got told our table is almost ready - and someone will come out to grab us. Over the next 10 min, just standing outside the restaurant, seeing many already set up clean tables and some staff just standing there, I don’t understand why we were just standing around outside? And at the end it wasn’t even the inside staff showing us to the table, it was one of the front assistants who were just standing there the whole time.
Now don’t even get me started on the cod! At first I found 1 bone and I was thinking maybe they just had an accident and missed one. Nope! Multiple bones found in it. I asked my waiter and I was told, the chefs try their best but sometimes can’t get it all out. THIS IS AN IRON CHEF RESTAURANT! IF NOBU HAS BONELESS COD, SURELY YOUR CHEFS CAN DO IT. It is not my first time eating cod at a jap restaurant.

It's our 4th time going to this restaurant but it was never been this bad. I'd give zero to the service. We ordered a lobster of 2lbs. It's a huge lobster indeed, however they did not provide any tools for cutting the shells, nor providing a plate to place lobster shells. We had to use our hands but they did not provide anything for cleaning my hands.....
The plate is only half sized of normal dinner plate. Many waiters passing by our table many times, but no one cared our plates were full with lobster shells.....
We did not order diserts because we're worried they won't even replace my plate for deserts.
Would never go back again.

Really shocked at the reviews. We ordered the soft shell sushi, sticky ribs, and pork belly fried rice. Aside from the fried rice all of the food was extremely mid. I can’t say it’s a place we’d return.

I dined here on the evening of 21th December. I expected a fine dining experience, however I left extremely disappointed since the service was awful. As a customer I feel neglect. The service was rushed and all the courses arrived at the same time. I am not recommending this for the cost of dining.

I recently visited Morimoto, and it was a bad experience.
A waiter spilled miso soup all over my pants while serving, and no one seemed to notice or acknowledge it. On top of that, the staff were walking around with hot plates and other items in their hands, chatting away and completely unaware of their surroundings. It felt unsafe and unprofessional.
To make things worse, they took away my glass of water and never brought a replacement, leaving me without a drink for the rest of the meal.
This restaurant was far too overpriced for this type of service. I expected much better for the price I paid and left feeling disappointed.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR SUSHI!!!
For a place brought to us from a Michelin starred chef I was absolutely amazed at the poor quality of food being served at Morimoto's. I could go to half a dozen places off-strip, including 1 AYCE place, and get better quality Nigiri. Their chu-toro was old, the hamachi dry, and the duck fried rice had maybe 3 pieces of duck in it. For them to also up-charge for "real wasabi" and still serve fake horseradish garbage was the ultimate insult in my dining experience.
The only positive aspect of the experience was the service staff, the rest is insultingly bad.
This place is an absolute bold-faced scam, like many of the strip restaurants, solely designed to separate rich tourists who don't know any better from their money. Please do yourself a favor and try anyplace else if you want quality sushi.

Keine Wiederholungsgefahr!

You can’t truly get the full experience of Morimoto without Aries, if you get a chance to request who’s in charge of your evening, you should always request him. Top service, top quality, and he’s always looking out for you and of course, his recommendations are always correct.

Very, extremely overpriced sushi. We made the mistake of not looking at their menu beforehand. You'll leave here hungry. $46 usd for a specialty roll that consists of 8 pieces, $22 usd for makis are ridiculous. Their appetizers wouldn't even feed my 12 year old daughter. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 rolls, and our total was $230 usd before tip. The food was very mediocre at best, portions is so small, definitely not for sharing. Service was good, attentive and it's a very nice atmosphere.

Although our service was excellent and the ambiance was nice, the food itself was terrible if you’re used to good sushi / Japanese food elsewhere. The rock shrimp appetizer was strangely dry and came w two odd sauces that were not too tasty. The tuna tacos were overloaded with jalapeño, skimpy on the tuna and a lick of grocery store guacamole. The sushi rolls were uninspiring and bland

Had reservations for 6, wasn't sat until 630. Sushi is above average, but not spectacular (go to sushi den in Denver, that is a reference restaurant). Prices were at least triple of my reference restaurant, at least. 20 dollars for a slightly above average piece (singular) sake salmon. I know it's vegas strip, but there are many other meals worth the vegas markup. This meal was not, and I'm a huge fan of morimoto. Service was below average for the price point, saw the waiter once in 25 minutes after the main came. For this amount of money, service should be on.

So I am in vehas on a culinary journey. The service staff, chefs, and hostesses didn't disappoint. We ate family style which they encouraged from the gate. Our cocktail was unbelievably paired. I orders 2 of Chef Morimoto's signature dishes which were the sticky ribs and the beef tartar. I won't bother saying how great these were. I also ordered the beef carpacchio and dragon roll plus their own take on a cheese cake.
This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in my life. This is a menu made by an Iron Chef and it lives up to the hype. One of the best overall experiences overall in vegas as far as food goes.
The executive chef treated me with a signed autograph menu from a tasting they did previously.

One of the best dinners we’ve had (in Vegas and in the top 5 restaurant experiences. Our server, Katie, was exceptional with excellent recommendations and a clear knowledge about the menu (specifically gluten allergies).
We enjoyed a bottle of bubbles, edamame, carpaccio, a rainbow gluten free roll, spicy salmon roll, duck fried rice + spicy tuna roll.
More than enough food, incredible freshness and stunning presentation. The restaurant itself was bright, classy, vibrant — perfect ambiance.
We will definitely visit this restaurant again when we’re back in Vegas. Worth every penny.

A Nightmare at Morimoto, MGM Grand Vegas – Avoid at All Costs
I’m beyond disappointed. Last night was my wife’s birthday, and I made the terrible mistake of choosing Morimoto at MGM. We frequented the Manhattan location, but this was an absolute disaster.
The hostess was incompetent. Despite the restaurant being half-empty, we waited over 10 minutes for a table we had reserved. Her attitude? Rude and dismissive, saying “I was just about to call you” after I had to complain.
The real kicker was the service. Our waiter blatantly lied about the spice level of the Spy Short Ribs. “Not spicy at all,” he claimed. Wrong. They were so fiery I couldn’t take a single bite. And did they offer to take it off the bill? Of course not. The disregard for customer satisfaction was astonishing.
This place ruined what was supposed to be a special evening. Mediocre, unprofessional, and utterly forgettable. Do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. You’ll thank me later.

Horrible experience. They made me wait for an empty seat at an empty sushi bar with 25 empty seats for 15 mins.
Only because they wanted it to look “busy” at the front of the restaurant. And…the pricing is 5x any good sushi bar in town. $20 for 1 piece(not 2) of tuna sushi nigiri.
Typical Vegas. And the noise is like a cafeteria. Don’t tip!

Went specifically to try the sea bass and black cod. All I can say is - WOW!!!
The black cod literally melts in your mouth. It had a very delicate balsamic reduction as a glaze. The seabass had a delicate sauce, made with ginger. It was fantastic. The clam miso soup was very flavorful, not salty, nor did it have a fishy smell. A bit pricey, but hey, this is Vegas. This is Morimoto. It was a memorable way to end our Vegas trip. I will be back.

Very poor experience which is odd because I’ve been to this place many times and it’s one of my favorites on the strip. Food did come timely however the waitress was rude and wasn’t friendly at all. After an error on entree, waitress approached the table and spoke to one of my guests, “you wanted to change your order” (condescending)? My guest ordered a rib eye and she was brought a strip streak, so she sent it back with the busser and said that isn’t what she ordered. Then the waitress approached her. After that, she never returned to the table to check on us. This was discussed with the manager and assistant manager and they listened but had zero solutions whatsoever. We have been to this restaurant over 50 times for personal and many business meetings. We won’t be going back after the significant failures and lack of resolution or remedy.

I was really looking forward to trying Morimoto. I don’t know if my expectations were set too high or if it was an off night, but ultimately the meal was unremarkable. I will say, the carpaccio and sushi we tried were very good but the main course was very bland and the service was odd to say the least. Our waiter seemed like more of a salesman, trying to pitch one of the tasting specials and claiming that people buy seconds of their sticky rubs as dessert. I’m glad I tried it, and had we stuck with the sushi it may have been a better experience, though $12 for a single piece of salmon nigiri seems excessive, even for Vegas.

This could have easily been a 5 star rating. The spicy salmon roll was the best I've ever had. Fresh tasting and amazing. It's the teppanyaki that is bringing the stars down. The food was ok. Nothing bad, nothing great. The chef is very nice and friendly but what really bothered us was when we ordered chicken and it said it came with vegetables. We bit into something and he said it was pork sausage. That either should have been noted up front or shouldn't have been there at all. I don't eat red meat or pork and this was extremely bothersome. I would go back and this time only have the sushi as I've said, was the best I've ever had.

With a tab over $400 for three that's a pretty steep bill for most but as a bucket list stop it was absolutely worth every penny.
The restaurant was modern, clean, and inviting but laid out more like a quick casual eatery that never really separated the experience from the busy passageways of the MGM. Try to enjoy the experience of it all we could t help but be distracted by the spectacle going on outaide.
We arrived early to our reservation which seems to be an annoyance to the staff at host reception. Instead of offering us to get a drink at the empty bar while we wait for our table to be ready (the restaurant was 80% empty) we were told to "stand over there" and wait until our reservation time and our name would be called. Dressed appropriately for an establishment we felt like we were on display for the main concourse.
When we were finally shown to our table the entire experience shifted gears and started to live up to what I would expect for an establishment bearing his name.
The staff at our table were amazing even dealing with dietary restrictions of my guest they never missed a beat.
The food was divine. Full stop.
Starting with the Beef gazpacho that melted in your mouth and some of the freshest Otoro (fatty tuna) I have ever tasted.
Our main course my guests both opted for variations of fried rice which was made table side with hot stone bowls in a fantastical display. On the recommendation of our waiter I took on the spicy crispy fish. It was good but the portion was a bit smaller than I was expecting.
Everyone raved about their dishes but we were not done. Rumors floating over from the neighboring table suggested the best cheese cake they had ever had and we couldn't let those rumors go unfounded. The cheese cake souffle was light airy and rich. The citrus undertones were enhanced by the fresh sorbet and berries that accompanied it. An angelic 11 out of 10.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting this to be FANTASTIC- especially for the price. While the food was good, it was really expensive for things that were kind of basic. We started with two “double ginger” drinks which is kind of a similar take on a whiskey and ginger ale drink. It was light and refreshing. We then shared the beef Capacio which was delicious and had a yummy flavor! It was thicker than other capacios I’ve had but it was great. We shared the shrimp roll, spicy tuna roll, and then we got toro, tuna, and eb sushi. The shrimp roll is very good but basic. We don’t feel it was worth the $20+. The tuna roll was delicious as they use fresh tuna and not a chopped mixture. The sushi was also extremely fresh and delicious- but is ORDERED INDIVIDUALLY- not in an order or 2. They are priced at $20+ a piece. I think it was $42 for 2 pieces of toro………. We’ve definitely had the same quality at other places for less and got more food. We ended with the chasu bop which is basically pork with rice. They “cook” it at the table which is really them just bringing a hot bowl, and mixing some rice with soy sauce. This was the most disappointing as, in our opinion, was not worth the $40+ dollars. It’s rice with 3-4 small pieces of pork. The flavor was light and good as was everything. Just extremely overpriced in our opinion for the portions and the overall food.

Disappointing. It’s expected to pay high prices for food in Vegas. However, $50 for an entree and walk out hungry is ridiculous. I am convinced that if you put on a menu “prepared table side” anyone will order anything. Ordered the pork table side and the already cooked pork was mixed with some rice. Ok, kind of lackluster there. However, there was no taste. Like none. Also, there was only 4 small pieces of pork, 4 bites. Total let down. Not worth it all!

Cool place, cocktails were really good. Service was excellent as expected from a high caliber restaurant. But we all wanted to like the food more than we did. The restaurants legendary namesake did not do it justice. The food was well prepared, but the chicken, pork belly and fish seemed uninspired, flavor wise. The seasonings were basic, but with no other accompaniments, they were left to stand on its own. The fried rice with the pork was very very flavorful, but was pretty mushy, besides the pieces that touched the 400 degree stone bowl it came in. Love the legend of Morimoto, but the food fell flat. Good, but flat.

What a great way to celebrate a wedding anniversary while arguably enjoying one of the best eateries in Las Vegas!
Reservations are highly recommended - in fact, you will probably need one if you are adamant about dining here.
Located in the MGM Grand, we were able to get to the restaurant on foot from the end of the strip. The restaurant was easy to locate and check-in with the hostesses was effortless.
One very interesting note is the design, decor, and ambiance of Morimoto Las Vegas. The initial perception on the choice of decor, lighting, and furniture may invoke fusion-y vibes. From the playful LED pink cherry blossom trees along the entrance to the abstract wall decor and dark rectangular setups inside, Morimoto Las Vegas offers a very modern take on a Japanese restaurant.
However, do not be fooled by this "non-classical" appearance of the restaurant. The food here is A++++ - mazing. Hopefully, my words can do it some justice because I simply cannot imagine myself being able to capture the essence and remarkable flavors of all the dishes we had.
Beginning with the side of blistered shishito peppers. Wow. One, if you are a pepper lover than this dish is a must have. What truly makes this dish amazing is the delightful explosion of lime juice flavor with each bite of the pepper. The citrus notes perfectly complement the natural spice of the pepper which is augmented with the umami of what I can only explain as a blend of soy-ponzu sauce with added salt crystals. I am literally salivating as I am writing this description. Must.
The next was the special of Japanese rubyfish. We opted to have it done sushi style with the cut of fish bedded over rice. In regards to the flavor, the bite didn't really need wasabi or soy sauce - it had all the natural flavoring it needed to stand out by itself. I want to say it tasted like a hybrid between mackerel and yellowtail. Delicious.
For our "entree", we shared the Japanese A5 waygu on a hot stone. Here, I want to give a quick disclaimer. I am by no means a waygu connoisseur, nor do I seek to be. The premise of this specific waygu review stems from my perception and initial experiences with the waygu "hype." There was plenty of venues that I went to that offered waygu. Most of these branded waygu cuts were from either American or Australian cattle. After experiencing these, I felt a bit disappointed with waygu, never to really understand why there was all the hype to begin with. Morimoto did an excellent job at showcasing Japanese A5 waygu in a way that completely changed my mind on waygu. I never believed that a piece of meat can dissolve in your mouth as the Morimoto Japanese A5 waygu did. I am a believer now. Outstanding.
Both the toro tartare and tuna pizza were equally great light eats that held their own. No complaints in this department.
Being that it was our anniversary, the staff and our server went above and beyond in delivery a special desert for us which was decadent and perfectly paired with espresso. We were extremely impressed with Morimoto Las Vegas for our anniversary dinner, and for my wife's third time at the restaurant.
Make Morimoto a stop if you're ever in Vegas.

Although great quality and presentation, it’s way overpriced relative to other Japanese/Sushi restaurants like Yellowtail at Bellagio. It is approximately 30-40% more expensive.

It kills me to write this review. We’ve watched Iron Chef Morimoto since the 90s and were massively excited about eating here. Regrettably the food was not great. We do come from Vancouver which has some of the best sushi in the world outside of Japan but still…
I had the dragon roll, which I think was about $50 and it was genuinely no different than the neighborhood sushi place here for about $15. It was shocking. You can see the huge roll below drowning in sauce, it’s very old school and not in a good way. We had the fried rice as well and it was “claggy”. Almost inedible. It’s like if you make rice in the steamer and the immediately fry it - that won’t work. We hadn’t complained at this point though.
Finally we had the sea bass. The first few bites were amazing, then as we got to the middle it was raw. Like full on raw. We showed the server who took it back. He offered to replace but we said no. He mentioned the chef pulled the cook off the line to discuss it with him, but not that anyone was in trouble. The strangest part, maybe 5-10 minutes later two security guards came in and were quickly escorted to the kitchen. Weird. Overall super disappointing, mostly because we had such high hopes. Our Uber driver said it best - it’s not like the celebrity chef is cooking for you. Too true, it’s just licensing I guess 😢

The best restaurant in my life! The food, the service, the atmosphere of a very respectable place for the whole family. Full of delight and thanks a lot!!!

Best service I've ever had, hands down. Menu was amazing, I was intrigued by the selection of wagyu steals but the heart of the menu is seafood and man does it not let you down. Clam miso soup right out the gates blows you away, Crispy Fried Fish, Chilean Seabass and Hamachi cooked tableside amazing. The Fried fish was ENTIRELY de-boned some how....great experience and definitely returning!

We ate here for dinner and ordered shrimp tempura maki as our appetizer. At first glance, it didn’t look special, but when we tasted it, the rice was perfectly cooked, warm, and complemented the shrimp well. The spicy tuna maki was also good, with a perfect ratio of rice and tuna. The ribeye steak melted in our mouths! The rice bop needs more flavor, but overall, it’s good food with pleasant service.

We ordered 4 sushi rolls and the angry chicken. When I tell you I’ve had better sushi in places that a roll is $8-$12 that’s 100% true. it was my birthday on 6/19/24 and my wife took me here in Las Vegas and she let the front desk know it was my birthday and they just didn’t acknowledged that at all. Nothing was done to make it any more special. Chicken was ehh. We spent $166 dollars and to end the night I got charged “someone else’s tab” I had to wait 15 min for my waiter to come back and talk to me so I can tell him he charged me for the wrong bill. I talked to the older Asian manager. He didn’t care. This was at 7:00pm awful!

My first experience with Morimoto was their flagship location in Philadelphia, which blew my mind.
I've been meaning to go to this new Vegas location for a couple years, and finally made it there.
What can I say? Innovative, considered, sumptuous bites for every dish that came our way. I lost count at the number of rounds that came out, but each was better than the last.
Anna, the sommelier, brought our experience to the next level. It's evident that she puts the utmost care and enthusiasm into each pairing as they elevated our meal exponentially.
It's hard to choose a favorite dish, but I think it has to go to the oyster, uni and fois gras combo. That's something I've never tasted before, and will not soon forget.
Ask for Lisa, her vibrant personality and pure joy brought a smile to our faces. She designed the entire menu for us and just blew it out of the park.
Chris, the manager was lovely as well! 10/10 highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!

It was my birthday and 830 reservation on Wed. Assorted sushi for 2 people, $170, I was very disappointed and the food quality was just average or little below average. They didn’t care about the birthday occasion and I felt like almost time to close kind of service level.

Sushi was no better than any standard place, no vinegar in the rice to make proper sushi rice, 5x overpriced for the quality, tourist trap.

Great place to eat. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. Very fresh seafood and balanced flavors. The two dishes that stands out are the white fish carpaccio and his signature desert, Fiery chocolate. All the dishes came out beautifully; great presentaion.Excellent food and service. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in Las Vegas.

Not only was this a bad meal, it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. The gyoza was okay, the best component was the salty scallion on top. The remainder of the meal quickly went downhill. Sashimi was cold, bland, and just not good. The maki was also flavorless, comparable to grocery store sushi. The pork belly rice dish was just awful. It sounded great, but the pork belly itself had almost no flavor, and the rice component was reminiscent of something you'd have at a high school cafeteria. Given the reputation of Morimoto, and the price you're paying, just wow I cannot believe how bad the food is. Spend your time and money elsewhere

This Restaurant was our number two favorite during our trip, absolutely amazing. We were not expecting the food to be as good as it was. The food was very well flavored and cooked (or uncooked for sushi) and was done beautifully. The atmosphere was nice but a little Scrapy for some of the lighting. The service was good-Ok, our waiter forgot one dish which came 3–4 minutes late. We got a free desert because of this mishap, The dessert was perfect as a make-up! It is a little hard to get to due to it being far inside the massive building of the MGM-grand. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for anyone visiting Vegas. Wonderful, just wonderful!

We just went to the restaurant and the food was decent to really bad but it was not disappointing for the price we paid. Our family had expected more from 4.5 star restaurant and now we get why it's missing the 0.5. The waiter was alright but I personally felt that he was looking down at us as an Asian family... DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!

I have zero regrets going to Morimoto within MGM Grand. The food was excellent, my only issue was that I didn't know the shrimp tempura had the wasabi sauce tossed within it, and not as a dipping sauce. I can't have wasabi, so I told the server who sweetly offered to bring me another serving of the second type of tempura with the other sauce. I declined as I still had other food to get through, yet he graciously took the tempura off my bill, I didn't even ask! I never would've expected something like that, and it meant more than he knows. I appreciate the amazing service, amazing food, and the beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. I would for sure go again

We had amazing service (Thank you, Prince) and every item we ordered was out of this world delicious. The sushi was so fresh and flavourful. We loved the pork sticky ribs and the whitefish carpaccio. The price was actually more reasonable than expected, though obviously it’s still Vegas. Would come again!

Was it worth $222 for one person at the sushi bar? No way. Tastes good, but just as good as the restaurants at home- you are only paying a “Vegas tax” to eat here. Tuna tartare- fancy, mid taste, gyoza- standard. seabass- ok. Miso- huge bowl, flavorless.

2nd time here, we were turned off by the waiter for two reasons. We asked if the maki roll could be cut into 10 pieces instead of 8 so they aren’t so large. He said it was doubtful because they can’t have people taking photos of a 10 piece roll and putting it on social media. Also asked if there was a sashimi roll I could order. He began to school me on a maki roll cannot be a maki roll without rice and it won’t stay together. I’ve had several outstanding rolls without rice. I won’t be coming back here. After $300 for 2 people for minimum food and ridiculous comments by waiter I will take my business elsewhere.

Over priced! Dirty, dust all over the walls. This is consistent with the lack of detail or any kind of quality control. Nothing was cooked or prepared properly. $28 for 2 pieces of sushi? Awful. Take your money elsewhere. Awful.

I expected inflated pricing but it was ridiculous!
A TV chef and a high dollar location, I was expecting to spend. At the same though, I was anticipating a creative iron chef culinary experience.
I was thoroughly disappointed. Their visual presentation was not bad, but everything else was really no different than a decent sushi bar in the suburbs where I live.
If you've never had sushi, this place might impress you. But for sushi regulars, Morimoto really falls way short!

It's massively overpriced, some of the sushi were not freshed, and we had to wait a long time to be served.

We had 645 reservations. The restaurant was busy but not packed. The hostess had 4 groups just standing there with plenty of open tables. All 4 of the hostesses were just playing on their phone.
We were finally sat. Our server could care less about us. He didn’t even bother to tell us the fish needed a side. We sat and sat and sat. He never checked to see how our food was, if we needed refills, etc. Food was food but I’ve had better.
So disappointing. We won’t be back.

Morimoto Las Vegas was absolutely amazing. Bar area service was impeccable. The food was seasoned well, flavorful and fresh. Rolls were done beautifully and great ratio of sushi rice to proteins. Bar menu serves the same as dining and drinks are heavy handed. Indulged in a Chivas Royale and was quite delicious. The atmosphere was nice but the restaurant is situated in a hall, so if close to open area it can get a bit loud with concert, strip and Casino goers. Hell, that's what you're in Vegas for. Looking forward to a return visit to Morimoto.

The restaurant itself is very pretty, with tables spaced adequately apart. Our waitress seemed annoyed to be there. The sushi is great quality and tastes very fresh. Don’t get an entree- extremely disappointed with the angry chicken (not dry yet hard to chew) and the hot pot dish was lacking flavor. Side dish of vegetables was good. Overall, did not meet expectations and will likely never return.

Extremely disappointed. Go to Hell’s Kitchen instead, at least they have good appetizers and desserts. All of the dishes were overly seasoned and extremely sweet. I had shared the feedback with the waiter and her reply was the seasoning is necessary to cover the gaminess of the food. I am sorry, but I expected fresh food and seasoning to bring out the flavor of the food, not cover it up with sweet teriyaki sauce. Complete opposite of what I expected of the image Morimoto portrayed on Iron chef. The portion is extremely small, which I expected, but the quality isn’t up to par. Oyster foie gras was so overwhelmed by the sauce that you barely taste the oyster, the uni or the foie gras, that I can’t say they work well together or not. My 12 year old daughter give this a 4-5, HK foie gras 7-8, 10 for the foie gras at Le Colimaçon. COD over cooked, I had gotten better quality and tasting black cod Premade lunch bento from Japanese super market for 10 dollars that actually reminds you of Japan. Duck fried rice had bone chips in it. Pork belly and congee was so strong and sweet that it had lost the actual flavor of the pork or the congee. You can be eating mystery meat for all you know. In all honesty I would compare the experience to Panda Express. Nothing special or unique about the flavor profile, just a lot of sweet teriyaki sauce. What Panda Express is to real Chinese food, Morimoto is to Japanese food. We were not surprised to see next table diners sent back food. The waiter offered to have the dish redone, but from the sound of how she described it, it will still be disappointing, so i declined. We didn’t want to order more dishes, so decided to cut our loss there. Morimoto should be ashamed of the quality of his restaurant. For the pictures I made every effort to take good photos. Hope this save someone from wasting a precious meal during their vacation.

While service and ambiance was great, food was subpar given the reputation of the restaurant. Sticky ribs were served hot, flavorful, and delicious. The steak was not bad but fairly average. We ordered the sushi platter and the fishes/seafood offered were pretty basic and likely catered towards less adventurous sushi eaters. We were quite disappointed with the selection and should've opted for a la carte. The sushi quality was not bad but we expected more from the restaurant. Even if we hadn't tried Zuma earlier in the week and was blown away by the food there, Morimoto did not meet our expectations. The only item we would return to the restaurant for would be the fiery chocolate tart that tasted as good as it looked.

Outstanding food!!! Service blipped during dinner; our server disappeared and we fell out of sync with the couple next to us seated at Teppanyaki. We had to wait for the entire dinner before ours was cooked. They comped a drink for us. 😶 Otherwise, exceptional food! The presentation has dropped a bit since my last visit, but it's still superb.

I waited an hour to get my dish, and the 8oz Wagyu beef had only four thin slices, not even 3oz! This is totally a scam! You could have just directly taken my money, why bother opening a restaurant to cover it up?
And throughout the entire meal, no one came to refill my water, and even the menu wasn't taken away. Michelin-starred restaurants are a joke.

I had made a reservation for my family and myself prior to attending KA at the MGM, eagerly anticipating our dining experience at Morimoto in Las Vegas.
Regrettably, our visit was marred by a significant disappointment, warranting only a single star in my review. The lamb chops served to my daughter were of exceptionally poor quality – predominantly fat and excessively chewy. Among the three pieces served, only one was remotely palatable. While our waiter promptly addressed the issue by removing the lamb chops from our bill, such an egregious oversight in the kitchen should never have occurred in the first place.
Compounding our dissatisfaction, my daughter fell ill with a fever and chills approximately two hours after consuming her meal. While causation cannot be definitively established, it seems plausible that her discomfort may have stemmed from the lamb chops, raising concerns about food safety standards.
Meanwhile, my son and wife opted for a selection of 3-4 sushi rolls. As children are wont to do, my son provided unfiltered feedback, expressing his disappointment by remarking, "I've had better," despite being a fervent sushi enthusiast.
Dining at establishments like Morimoto is not merely about the food, but also about the overall experience. Unfortunately, our visit fell far short of expectations, leaving us with a resounding sense of mediocrity and dissatisfaction. In summary, our experience at Morimoto in Las Vegas was a profound letdown, deserving of a resounding "Meh" and a definitive two thumbs down.

What a magical dinner, such a incredible meal and service. Matt was our server and he was fantastic. His recommendations didn't dissapoint one bit! After 2 incredible bottles of sake and a family style tasting dinner...we all felt amazing! The sea bass was the star, and the yellowtail bob, just wow...and the peppers pictured below! Table side fried rice. Uh, we will definitely be back! 10 stars!

We did not have reservations but were lucky enough to get a seat at the Sushi bar. We ordered several spicy rolls and a couple of regular. Our server was attentive and polite.
The reason for three stars is our spicy Sushi was not spicy at all. We let our server know and he took it away and returned later with fresh rolls. The solution was to add more spicy Mayo inside and added a dolup atop of each piece. It would have been best had we just not ordered it spicy. Sushi/Sashimi is served by the piece and seems a bit expensive for that.

First time at Morimoto. What fantastic food and an absolutely amazing experience. Went as a family of 4 and chose the Teppen Grill. We ordered unagi and kinmedai to start. The Tappan grille was not the show we were used to, as the emphasis was on the food, but it was amazing. Our chef made it a fun experience. We had a variety of food, rice and noodles. We were not dissapointed. We ordered the Bonsai Garden and Fiery Tart for desert, and had no idea what we were in for. Just amazing. Definitely recommend

Visited with my wife and son. 1 star as they are intentionally trying to rip off their customers. I had two bourbons as part of my meal. They charged me $4 per glass more than the menu stated and IN ADDITION THEY CHARGED $4 PER DRINK FOR ICE!!! Note, I got standard ice which was free with the ice water on the table. UNACCEPTABLE to scam your customers out of $4 for regular basic ice. The food was truly excellent but after 3 appetizers and 3 entrees we left the restaurant hungry. The cost of our meal was more than $100 per person. A real scam. AVOID.

I have been to vegas many many times and by far one of the best meals. We had a group of 4 and shared the Ishi Yaki Chashu Bop Chashu Pork On Rice, whitefish carppacio, rock shrimp temputa, sticky pork ribs, tiger roll, 16oz domestic waygu, chiliean seabass, 1 waygu sushi piece, mixed vegetables and for dessert a fiery chocolate tart. Wow the food, the ambiance and the knowledge and kindness of our server Steve was absolutely amazing and memorable. We also had 4 mocktails which was so flavourful and an asian pear bevy. Would absolutely suggest and recommend

Morimoto is an upscale "Japanese" restaurant inside of the MGM Grand. Overall, I gave it a 4/5 stars. For the price, I would have anticipated more sushi options and Japanese-based dishes similar to those I found on my travels throughout Japan. However, it seems that the menu has been "Americanized" and includes items like a California Roll, which I would never have guessed to be on an upscale Japanese menu. Outside of their sushi, it's largely a seafood based restaurant. I have a tough time considering this a true Japanese restaurant and being that Japanese is my favorite food, I was pretty disappointed in the menu.
Our server was kind and I would give him a 5/5. I honestly forgot his name (shorter male of Asian descent I believe if he sees this - thank you).
When we did get our food, we ordered tacos, soup, and sushi (pictured is every tuna option they had). The food was tasty. I just wished they would steer more towards authentic Japanese rather than it being "Americanized" and serving entrees that you would find in a seafood restaurant.

We made a reservation through the MGM Resorts app. We walked by the sushi/itamae chef's (there were about 6 or 7) who all greeted us as we were led to our table. My husband and I were seated at a nice table with soft bench like seats. Great ambiance. The service was fantastic, and the dishes were not only beautiful but melt in your mouth delicious.

We came here for dinner on 3/11 around 6:30. We had reservations for 7:00, but once we introduced ourselves, they seated us immediately. Our server, Peter, was absolutely outstanding. He was kind and extremely helpful and very personable. He really took exceptional care of us. I started the evening with a flight of astounding sake. Each sip was smooth and fruity. Then we had the tuna tacos and the pork belly for our appetizers. The tacos had a crisp shell with beautiful tuna and topped with a sliver of pepper that was perfectly balanced in flavor and texture. The pork belly was out of this world. Every bite was tender and the rice congee rounded out the smokiness with a bit of sweetness. The miso soup was one of the best we’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Then we had the soft-shell crab roll and the braised black cod. The roll was delicious and the cod was beautifully cooked and wonderfully seasoned. But the desert was the most unforgettable part! The fiery chocolate tart was not only decadently delicious, but the flames were really sensational. We absolutely loved our meal, and we had a really good time!
