Hokkaido Ramen House&sushi Bar

I had the spicy Ramon with hot sauce on the side. It was so delicious. Pork was so tender that it melted in my mouth.

The service was superior, and I was sick and not feeling well. I'm hard to please when I'm well. What a patient, sweet, kind man(Oswin), that gave very professional service. Good service is hard to find, but I will definitely come back for the food and service.

Not the best ramen but it will cure your craving for ramen. The noodle is just okay, broth is just okay. The pork is not so tender which probably the only down side I have on the ramen. The white rice I order a bit under cook. Service a bit slow but very friendly.

The Ramen bowls that kept passing by my table to the people around me looked sooo good. I had sushi 🍣 though and I thought it was pretty good. We asked for no tempura crumbs on one of the rolls since my daughter can't have gluten, but they added them anyway. The ticket said no crumbs, so I'm sure it was a mistake on the sushi chefs part. Not sure everyone knows, but imitation crab is full of gluten, so since she couldn't have her roll I tried to pull out the stuff in my roll so she could eat it. She didn't want to send hers back. She hates to complain, but should have since she ended up getting kinda sick at this place. Probably because we couldn't separate the things good enough for her system. So it was good here but I'm not sure I could recommend it for people with allergies.

We don't recommend coming before 1pm even tho they open at 11:30am. They were far less reliable compared to the other Hokkaido. We always come to this place for lunch whenever we visit Kalispell. We went there at noon which is lunch time, and we were told the Ramen was not prepared and needed to wait 20-30 mins.

With the past experience, they never seem to have Mello Yellow as everytime we come, we were told they didnt have Mello Yellow but still keeping it on the menu for some reasons. We then ordered bubble tea, but was told tapioca was sold out. So basically I had bubble tea without tapioca. Even when they have tapioca for the other times we visited, we were told to wait 30 mins just so they can prepare tapioca, Again.... It was lunch time.

They open 11:30am, but nothing seem to get prepared including Ramen while they calling themselves Ramen house. Food did came at the end but they used to taste way better, so not sure if we will go back again.

Love this place. All of the broths are homemade and delicious. I my go-to is the garlic tonkatsu ramen, but I also loved the spicy beef and the chicken. The chicken karrage is our favorite appetizer.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Hokkaido Ramen House. We got the garlic tonkotsu ramen and the miso ramen and both were delicious. The service was also great— our waiter even brought us a complimentary salad to start things off!

Okay now!!! This is the only place I go to for Ramen. Spicy, not spicy, vegetarian, brisket, pork, beef, chicken, gluten-free menu, Hokkaido makes it all. They even have a sushi bar 🐟. You'll be greeted by a friendly young man with a nice smile. Giver a go, I'm certain it will not disappoint.

I blame their manager, theres obviously no training or accountability. The first time we came here should have been our last, because every opportunity we gave them has burned us. The first time my broth was so salty I couldn't eat it, and instead of remaking it the chef came to my table personally to tell me there's nothing wrong with how they make the soup, only to admit it looked darker than it's supposed to. They didn't charge us, but we left hungry. We have been back since, but there's so much cross contamination that we couldn't eat the food dud to allergies despite them trying to remake it this time, the new food came with allergens in it again. They didn't charge us for the what we didn't eat, but again left hungry. The other few times we have been here, the soup is made differently each time and is inconsistent with flavor. Boiled chicken and grilled pork with no seasoning and the sushi is very low grade.

I have some seafood allergies and mentioned that while ordering. They still brought me my sushi with the items I was allergic to and asked if it was ok and if I’d eat it. They seemed upset when I said no, I’m allergic and I could have a reaction. Then took another 35 minutes to remake my food.

I'm not a big ramen fan but I saw a to go bag from them at my work and checked out their website and wanted to give it a try. I ordered online and picked up a spicy beef ramen. I was thoroughly impressed. I will definitely order from them again.

My wife and I came a little before they closed and reopened the later time. We were pretty much seated right away which was nice. We have come here in the past and the food was okay we prefer the great falls location since it has more variety to the menu and their food is normally always tasty and delicious when we go to the great falls location and we really wanted to give the Kalispell location another try. We got two bowls of ramen and some sushi. My wife and I agreed the ramens were okay and semi lack luster. The broths were bland to us even given with the amount of ingredients in our bowls. The roll we got was a little sad as well compared to the quality the great falls location offers. The portion was definitely smaller compared to the other location and the quality of food is just not there for us either. Overall if you're new to ramen and never had it before this might be a location for people just being introduced to it otherwise we'll probably just stick to the great falls location. We wanted to add our server was so polite and kind despite the food being not the greatest, she was attentive and didn't rush us at all. We didn't catch her name but she might be new she had pinkish red hair but either way the service was at least decent.

So we were a company of 5 adults accompanied by 1 infant and for some reason we were charged that 18% gratuity! We weren’t told that and when the receipt was brought to us it was suggested to tip more.
The service is so bad, we were waiting for a waiter for 15 min to come and bring the menus while it was pretty empty in the restaurant. When he brought food he forgot about the chopsticks. Food is just average. Don’t recommend

I can't give a good description of the service as I only had a small pick up order, but the sushi and the calamari salad I ordered were sadly absolutely terrible. I hate to complain and never have before in a review but when I can get better sushi at a grocery store it causes me to be wary of returning.

I am Japanese and worked at an izakaya. They call this an izakaya and it is not that. The food is just meh and so not worth it. On top of this the servers are incredibly rude--my friends have gone here on separate occasions and all of us have experienced them being SO rude.

I have ate at this restaurant in Great Falls and the food and service was amazing, now they have opened another location in Kalispell and tonight we get a date night and drive 2 hours to eat here they are out of rice. So no sushi for us which really sucks especially when we see to go orders being prepared that have sushi being made. Needless to say I'm pissed and I will never return. We usually order more than we should and end up spending a couple hundred dollars. So if I could give this place a zero I would.

I just had a great experience at Ramen House today! In the past I have had noticeably lackluster experience as far as customer service goes. It seems like they were always training someone new at the front so it was a pleasant surprise today to be helped solely by Benjamin. Benjamin provided me fantastic service, used common courtesies, even went so far as to compliment my earrings and sweater. When I added a tip, which I always generously do having previously worked in food service, he said "Oh you didn't need to do that but I really appreciate it!" Having a tip be appreciated and not just something that is expected was so refreshing. As someone who works in customer service, I put a very high value on receiving great customer service myself and wanted to mention what an outstanding job Benjamin did today. I have never received anything more than mediocre service here before and today really blew me out of the water. Keep up the great work, Benjamin!

Worst service I have ever experienced.
The staff felt like they were in a hostage video, and not once did I see a smile or any glint of positive emotion. I don’t recall anyone speaking in anything but monotone.
We were ignored for over fifteen minutes when we sat down, and had to get up to get anyone’s attention.
When our appetizer arrived, it was slammed down I front of us. There were no utensils.
I had to get up, go walk to the other side of the restaurant, and get them myself.
We ordered drinks, which didn’t include boba- which we asked for.
We asked our server , and he got very angry with us, blaming us about our order being incorrect- and making us feel guilty enough to get it corrected.
Even if we wanted to, our server just walked away and mumbled something profane under their breath.
I honest to god don’t have words for how rude and uncaring everyone was the entire time.
Not even a simple “welcome” was given when we walked through the door.
A final insult to injury was a dirty spoon in my ramen .

Sadly, I would say this location is not so great. Staff were friendly, but the food was subpar. Also, the music from the kitchen was audible and completely different from the music in the dinning area? Not, the worst thing in the world, but I feel like competent mgmt would have cared about that kind of thing. Anyway, hope things turn around, since Hokkaido was my go-to spot back when I lived in Helena.

Very disappointed in this place. Sushi took over 35 min to prepare 4 rolls. Restaurant is unkept, dirty and in needed repair. Service was horrendous, we had to ask them to please bring us our food that had been sitting in the window for 10 min because they all wanted to small talk. Won’t be back. Sad.

The one star is for the quality of the ramen. It’s pretty good, if you’re desperate.

The sushi is NOT good.

The service, except for the one female I’ve seen who is always amazing, is quite bad. Extremely slow. Always with an attitude. Can’t be bothered. I liked it enough to come back four times. But probably not after this. The first two times were great. The third time, they put gluten noodles in my dish (can’t eat gluten). The last time, I ordered 30 minutes ahead of time and waited at the restaurant for 25 minutes.

Saw other order outs wait for WAY too long. Little to zero acknowledgment of any of us waiting. It was very awkward. I was there before all of them and was the last to leave. Absolutely no point in ordering ahead. Might as well order when you get there. It will probably be faster!

They always have good sushi and ramens. The tantanmen is our absolute favorite ramen here. The jalapeño poppers are a must try too! Their server, Melissa is a very sweet woman who’s always happy and on the ball when we visit. She’s the main reason we enjoy coming in every time. Good work ethic is hard to come by these days. Hold onto her.

We had our dogs with us so we ordered takeout online. Everything was bagged up nicely and super hot when we picked it up. We lived in Japan and thought the food was fantastic and authentic! Definitely start with a few orders of gyoza. They were sooo good. The ramen tasted fresh and took us back to our times in Japan. I also got the pork rice bowl which was great. The homemade Japanese pickles that came with the dish really made it stand out. We will be back to try more things!

This place is one of those places that everyone should come and try at least once. Amazing food, although a little limited but based on it be a ramen restaurant it’s expected. They do have some sushi and it is pretty darn good. They’re more along the lines of simple rolls with imitation crab. It is a little more on the spendy side but I would expect that from a Japanese restaurant. Over all this place is worth going to absolutely!

First time trying this place. Very cool atmosphere with nice murals and artwork and pretty music. Server was great. Patient and attentive. The chefs were great and made some substitutions for us but didn't get all of them correct. No big deal. Sushi quality was very good. Ramen was very good and flavorful but the chicken was very dry. The pork in my tonkatsu dish was also very dry but the flavors were very good. My fiancee loved the taro boba tee. Place is kinda expensive so was hoping for a bit better quality for the price. Probably will try somewhere else next time but wouldn't be opposed to giving this spot another shot.

The pork in my dish was borderline bad and I said as much to the server: she offered to take it away. Did not remove the charge for the food we sent back. Disgusting! Do not eat here! I had an unfortunate experience at this chain. Our server, a male with black and green hair, did not care. Our entree came at the same time as our appetizer. The spicy beef ramen was worse and got one to go for my wife. They both ended in the trash. Been to all of the other chains and their service and food have been amazing. Would not have cared if at least the food was the same but adding chili to the spicy beef ramen does not fix the lack of flavor of the broth, the meat was chewy and just lacked any flavor. Will never go to this location again. I hope for the owners sake they read these comments so they can retrain their staff. Altering the recipes the way they are is disappointing for how great the food tastes in every other location in MT.

Ordered sushi to go. When I went to pick up, the bag was triple knotted, so I had the option of ripping the bag open or trusting everything was correct (it wasn't). The individual working the register made a point of making sure I new where the tip line was on the receipt (for a to go order) which I found completely unnecessary and a bit rude. I almost didn't leave the tip I had planned on leaving, but I still did. After getting home with the order I discovered one of the specialty rolls was missing. I called, let them know, no big deal - it happens, and asked that they just refund the missing roll. The person said they were certain they put it in the bag...the bag I have emptied and am currently looking at! They made it quite clear from their attitude that they really couldn't be bothered, said a manager would have to approve a refund of such a large amount ($13.50), but that they didn't think it would happen. I asked that a manager call me then, never happened. As for food quality, the only good sushi was the eel, though what they call 2 pieces is what used to be one piece, now cut into 2 thin strips...same price. The spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy at all, and was mostly filler (panko bread crumbs). The rest of the fish was edible, but not great. I will not eat here again because of the quality, but mostly because of the treatment by that employee.

I love this restaurant!! I try to go there several times a month. The people working are friendly and the food is amazing. There hasn't been one thing that I have ordered that wasn't worth a five star rating.

In person- good food. Service forgot my order but that's okay- it happens. However- I've tried ordering through door dash 3 times and they've canceled every time- after waiting an hour without explanation.

It’s very good food the rice bowls was cooked perfectly and the ramen was so good I had the shisu I think that’s what it was called ramen which was a fish broth pork ramen it was too good kept on eating and talking with my friend for a hour now the atmosphere was so nice light j-pop music was playing and all the Japanese artwork was very cool to look at I also had octopus for first time it’s very good but weird texture to get into

After seating, we waited for more than 20 minutes just for water. Really bad service and the server had horrible manner. Treating Asians with a different attitude other than the Americans. TERRIBLE! I’ll definitely tell all my friends and will never come again.

Ordered spicy beef ramen, food is as good and of high quality as the rest of chain stores. Came in during busy hours. The lady at the front desk was helpful. The servant can’t wait to get off work… no water, no one place orders. He simply never show up for 20minutes, and we stay in store for a total of 40 minutes…

Some of the best ramen and crab rangoon I've ever had! Everything I tried was delicious. Staff is very nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere is relaxed with great music playing. Definitely recommend this place.

Was surprisingly delicious! Wasn’t expecting to find good ramen in a such a small town. Went there with 2 kids and they gobbled it all up! The only thing I would suggest is adding a little more soup to the ramen. Will be back next time we’re in town.

Food came out very quickly and tasted great. You get extras like bamboo shoots for free. That usually is an extra. Service was quick and efficient. My only criticism would be the ramen could use more broth. I enjoy drinking that. But that's my only quip.

Horrible food. Was charged 26 dollars for lunxh. Was not enough food for 1 person. Tried to call the place, no answer. Manager is rude, made me wait for almost 30 minutes for a refund. Wont be comi g back

Though the food is consistent, the service is hit-and-miss. Today, I ordered the spicy tuna roll with extra spicy mayonnaise. I did not receive the mayonnaise. I also ordered the Tantanmen with an extra egg and spicy chili paste. I got the egg, but no paste.

If the food and service in this establishment continue to degrade, it will be out of business before this time next year. Food quantity has dropped off immensely, and service doesn't exist, and the lazy staff can't clean off a table or get someone seated in under 20 minutes. Use to really enjoy coming here..now McDonald's holds as much excitement.

The food was great. The tables and seats were not cleaned properly, the floor wasn’t clean and I don’t think they ever perform deep cleaning into their schedule as there was dust on the lights, the windowsills, ledges and the service wasn’t great. My server was Izabella. She was nice at first, even gave me extra cherries on my Shirley temple. She was friendly until the food was prepared. I asked for extra noodles, she had to go back and put it in. She also had to go back for silverware, and my fiancé ordered regular miso, and they served him spicy. She then tried to tell me that that is the regular miso and that is just how it is. Every single other time we have come here everything was okay and we come here a lot. He orders the same thing every time, and so I know what she was saying is bull. Every time we ordered regular miso, it never came with spicy paste. I would recommend the food, but definitely won’t recommend this place if you want servers with rude tones, who tell you your wrong, make you feel stupid and do not correct incorrect orders when it was their Mistake.

The Ramen bowls that kept passing by my table to the people around me looked sooo good. I had sushi 🍣 though and I thought it was pretty good. We asked for no tempura crumbs on one of the rolls since my daughter can't have gluten, but they added them anyway. The ticket said no crumbs, so I'm sure it was a mistake on the sushi chefs part. Not sure everyone knows, but imitation crab is full of gluten, so since she couldn't have her roll I tried to pull out the stuff in my roll so she could eat it. She didn't want to send hers back. She hates to complain, but should have since she ended up getting kinda sick at this place. Probably because we couldn't separate the things good enough for her system. So it was good here but I'm not sure I could recommend it for people with allergies.

How anyone could give this place a decent rating is beyond us. My husband actually called it the worst food, ever. The pork in the ramen was freezer burned, the broth was flavorless and watery, the sushi roll was ground up unidentifiable "fish" and was weirdly pink, and the restaurant was dirty. My shoes stuck to the floor. The service was fine, but they never asked about the food and she looked liked she was hating her life. We love food and we eat out, a lot. This place is sad, sad, sad.

Beautiful restaurant with a delicious veggie ramen. We also tried spring rolls and sesame balls, which were fantastic. The only negative was that they were out of boba both times we went, but everything else was wonderful!

Frankie the owner (and the only manager) is an awful human and abusive boss. The food is good, i like the food. I also like every employee there (i used to work at hokkaido) but i want everyone reading this to know if you eat here. You are supporting an awful store owner who has no business acting the way he does and treating his underlings how he does.

Me and my brother's we're there at 11:30 waited 15 and never got seated thay had only 3 table's full
India refused me service. Check forever to get drinks. She didn't clarify on my brother's joint drink of choice. Nor just clarify if we had any food put in for an order, just took our menus and left.

Rated food a 1 because we didn’t get served food. Our menus were taken without the server asking for our order. Not to mention we had been shuffled between sections, and the waitress messed up my drink order. No communication, never sought clarification, was cold to us from the start, and we were essentially ignored by the rest of the staff. Used to be one of my favorite places. To be fair though, I assume it was just our server, because almost everyone else seemed to get acceptable service.

Went here for lunch as it was recommended to us by someone local. We were seated immediately and our server, Andrew greeted us right after that. He answered questions about the menu and also recommended some drinks and ramen bowls that were his favorites.

The food was very tasty and flavorful and the drinks were very good as well, although $6 per drink was a little high in our opinion.

The restaurant was clean and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back in the future.

The food was awful. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, the chicken karrage, a couple of bowls of the chicken ramen, and about 75% of it ended up in the trash because we could only force ourselves to eat 25% of it. The fish and the roe in our sushi was not fresh and had the texture of mush. The rice in the sushi was soggy, the ramen was so bland, we would've been better off eating instant ramen. Total disappointment. I would've given it zero stars if that was an option. This was by far the worst representation of Japanese cuisine that I've ever had in my life.

I probably came in here with my expectations being too high, but this is one restaurant that I wouldn’t waste my time dining at again. There were dirty fingerprints everywhere, and when my mom asked for different silverware because ours were dirty with bits of food stuck on them still, and they brought back different silverware that was also dirty. We ended up cleaning them ourselves and tried avoiding looking around at how unclean it was.

Love the food. But we just waited to be seated for 15 minutes then watched the young waitress run around trying to clean and help people and older girl with pinkish red hair was hardly doing anything. Then the girl sat a 4 top that had came in after us. Then after that finally sat us. The older gal walked by and grumply said we close in 15 minutes. We walked out. If you aren't taking customers you should inform them when they come in not 20 minutes later after rude service.

Ordered food for takeout and it was completely inedible. The eel tasted rancid and one bite made me nauseous. The jalapeno poppers were undercooked and overly spicy. The meat in the ramen was dry and old. I normally love this place but it's gone downhill massively and I won't be eating there again.

Just moved back to town and was super excited to discover Kalispell had a ramen place now. Service was fast (though we were pretty much the only ones there). Nice menu options. I’ll definitely go back. I tried the takoyaki (which was a little undercooked in the middle) and the garlic tonkotsu. The charshu was rather dry and tough but the flavor was good and the broth was nice. The egg was perfect. I added Woodear mushrooms and wish they had been sliced and marinated like I’m used to. Still I plan to go back and try more things. It’s a welcome addition to the valley.

Spicy ramen was so good but the milk tea was super sweet. Since the server said the drink is pre mixed already, she can’t add tea or milk so I added cold drink instead.

Employee that took my order-to-go was trying to rush me out as it seems I interupted his chat time with the others. He seemed very annoyed I dared enter the store. Restaurant was basically empty. Recieved my food very quickly but when checking food when I got home I see they missed/messed up half the order, we recieved some wrong items and were missing items. Food was ok, wouldnt write home about it. For the price I am paying though I think they may need to redo thier procedures.

All I can say for Montana ramen that this ramen is REAL legit!

I ordered the garlic tonkotsu ramen and I liked the garlic infused flavor along with the richness of the pork bone broth, oh man!

I also got the Hokkaido milk tea with boba and it's real great as well. Rich milky tea texture with some caramel flavor along with decently cooked boba!

Got takeout, didn’t eat it, *couldn’t eat it*. Smelled like a foot bath. If you don’t eat it piping hot, get ready for 2 parts coagulated fat to 1 part water. I wouldn’t feed this to my dog, even though there was enough bones in the broth. Didn’t get wined or dined but I got ****** out of $25.00

Got the spicy ramen "fire" hottest option as a take out. Well portioned and generous on the broth. This is the first Asian cuisine I've had in Montana where I actually didn't' add the chili paste - the broth was spiced hot enough to enjoy. Exactly what I was looking for!

I was really excited to finally have a ramen place in town. Unfortunately we got takeout from here and my husband bit into an actual metal staple. The restaurant made me go back in person so I could get a refund and I had to fight them to refund me for the entire meal instead of just the one dish. They didn't call me to apologize or see how they could fix the problem just gave me a 3-hour window in which I could come and get my refund. When I did finally go into get my refund they didn't seem to care that this happened, the manager wouldn't even make look at me or make eye contact. I even asked him to have his boss call me to better reconcile the situation before I wrote this post, but they didn't care to reach out. I'm super disappointed and will not be going back or recommending this place to others.
