Casual sushi restaurant with really great service! They have an AYCE deal Fri and Sat, so we'll be coming back for that for sure!
The food was delicious, we had a wide spread for not very expensive at all. The only thing was that they were pretty busy with to-go orders, so the food did come out a little slow.
We really enjoyed the visit, and will be coming back for that AYCE!

It seems like some of the negative reviews were from people who may have gone to the wrong place, because this spot is incredible! The rolls are unique compared to what you usually get at other AYCE sushi places, and the atmosphere is lowkey and modern. The service is top-notch too — we spoke with one of the owners, who was super friendly and made sure our food came out quickly. I've been here several times, and it’s consistently a 10/10 every time.

I ordered two sushi rolls and crab cheese wontons from Raku through DoorDash. The products were very well packaged and arrived in good shape. The Mexican roll was excellent and had very good spice. The "one" roll was also very good but I did not care for the peppered tuna as much as some other rolls. The tempura shrimp inside the rolls were good yet the breading was a little heavy for my taste. All in all, I enjoyed Raku sushi, and would return.

I am so glad I checked this place out! Some reviews honestly had me a little nervous, but most places usually have some off reviews. My friends and I did the AYCE menu and had a great experience! Everything we tried was so delicious! The service was great and everything we ordered/kept ordering came out in less than 5-10min and we ordered a decent amount throughout the whole 2hrs. Our waitress was very nice! I would say service slowed down closer to the end, but they also had bigger tables come in during that time too. I would for sure try it and form your own opinion! I will for sure be back!

Our friend is moving away so we decided to meet here for a farewell dinner. There is one thing I really appreciate about this place - their menu. They had photos of the sushi maki rolls with descriptions, so you can see what you're ordering. We ordered 6 different rolls (and 3 appetizers) and were pleased with every single one of them. Although we were greeted a little slower than we'd like, the kitchen was fast, food was good, and service was too.

I was pretty excited to try this place as a new AYCE option that offers a different selection than other AYCE sushi places. I had seen some intriguing videos on Instagram and was excited. The restaurant was totally empty when we arrived which kinda made us feel awkward. It was about 430 on a Friday so I get the smaller crowd but there was no one else there other than the employees. One of the more frustrating parts of our experience was their AYCE menu had just the names of things with no descriptions. I had to play word search with a regular menu to figure out what everything was. Please put some money into getting some decent AYCE menus with descriptions if you will continue to offer AYCE. Service was not good. The girl who served us kept forgetting things. By this time, another table had been sat next to us but it was still dead in the restaurant. As others have mentioned, service was definitely lacking and inattentive as well. Although everything we got tasted good, due to the atmosphere and lacking service, I do not plan to come back, especially not for $40/person. There are better AYCE sushi places in the same city that are worth the money.

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The wait time for our food was extremely long, and the drinks menu was inaccurate after ordering. The "all you can eat" menu lacked any information about what you were actually ordering, which made it frustrating to choose dishes. To make matters worse, the drinks we wanted weren't even available.
The service from the waitresses was terrible. They never came back to our table, and we had to call them every time we wanted to order food. The way the waitress presented the menu made it seem like she hadn't been there long, which added to the confusion. It's been 2 hours since we started the "all you can eat" experience, and it's impossible to eat in 2 hours (as rules of all you can eat), the food still hadn't arrived at the table.
When we complained, they just said the kitchen was busy—no apologies, no improvement in service at all! It took a ridiculous 40 minutes between finishing one dish and the next one arriving. The restaurant was crowded with people waiting, yet the food just never seemed to come out.
The bathroom was also terrible—only one person could use it at a time, and it was filthy.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Come here for the food and not the service. We sat down and didn't even get a menu or water. Another party came in and was given menus and water immediately. I had to ask for water/menu. The lady who initially sat us seemed irritated and annoyed the entire time. Come here expecting poor service but stay for the delicious food.

Dining at this exquisite Japanese restaurant was an unforgettable experience that transported me straight to the heart of Japan. From the moment I walked through the door, the serene, minimalist decor set the perfect atmosphere for what would become a culinary adventure. Every detail, from the soft lighting to the delicate artwork on the walls, contributed to the authentic feel of the space.
We started with the miso soup, which was light yet flavorful, with a deep umami richness that hinted at the finest dashi stock. The tofu was silky and perfectly balanced with a hint of seaweed and spring onions, setting the tone for the rest of the meal.

Really good food! Before I go for the AYCE, I checked out the restaurant google page. It seems that quite a lot bad reviews came from certain last names such as Yang, Vang etc. I guess there’s Asian group are not getting along with this restaurant. However, my family and I had a great time there. We went for the AYCE, we sat the sushi bar, the sushi chefs are great! They gave us really good advice for what to order and hand over the food over the counter as soon as it’s ready! Love it! La comida está muy buena :)

AYCE, Waited 15+ minutes to order and the waiter walked passed us multiple times without asking if we were ready to order. The food took a while to get to us. You can tell our food was not fresh. Shrimp tempura wasn’t crispy, the seaweed wrap was stale. We ordered appetizers and rolls all at once and never got some items.
Our table of 4 had a tip already included, to which we were unaware of. As it was on another menu that we didn’t even receive.
Overheard another table complain that there were flies in their soy sauce bottle.
I rarely do reviews, but I had to on this one because I never been this disappointed. Recommend not going there.

Visited 7 months ago
BEWARE! Went there for AYCE. It was an hour before we got our first order of food or even our drinks. It was not a busy night as MAYBE 1/3 of the tables had someone at them.
They do not hold back with stating the rules of their AYCE service on a large sleeved page they give you. Order limits and time limits (Which would be reasonable if they weren't providing extremely slow service) make you feel like you are a culinary criminal before you even order. BUT nowhere does it state the fact that they have an automatic 18% gratuity except your final bill. A real slap in the face after you have received some exceedingly terrible service. I do not mind a gratuity but it should be posted somewhere or communicated to customers if you want to avoid headache and the appearance of dishonesty.
There are some ceiling lights that are taped up with scotch tape and falling down. The drinks are a joke and not made well. Also they are just served in water glasses filled with ice and a straw. I could make more of a “cocktail” at home. I think they are providing pretty decent fish quality with their sashimi and their rolls are alight. Presentation is very good, unfortunately the lack of timeliness makes it irrelevant.
I really hope that this business can figure out what is wrong and fix it but we will never return to this establishment.
SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, DO NOT GO HERE.

Food is 100% yummy and fire. I MEAN LITERALLY FIRE. LOL
Service was good, friendly staff. But me and my party had a little issue with communication.
We had a mix up and misunderstanding with our food, we told our waitress and the host and it seem like they didn't know how to solve the problem. And just left it as that. Until we spoke with I believe it was the manager/owner and she was able to understand and solve the problem with no complication at all.
Atmosphere and everything was nice. I was full and satisfied.

Tried out the AYCE menu on a Friday night and would not recommend going on a Friday night until they hire more employees
You’re allowed to order 4 nigiri, 4 sashimi, 2 rolls, and 1 special dish per person per order. Unlimited appetizers. Unfortunately, this means that the kitchen can get overloaded quite quickly, while the restaurant was full, the service was incredibly slow.
The food was actually very good compared to other AYCE sushi places in town, I’d just recommend not going on a weekend until they either hire more kitchen staff or re-evaluate the rules on ordering maximums

The AYCE is a great deal on Fri/Sat but order a lot in advance. There's a 2 hour time limit and it took me 1 full hour to receive my first order of 1 spicy tuna roll. After 2 hours I was extremely disappointed that I got very little service or food. What I did get was pretty good but with the massive wait despite it being only a moderate crowd I simply cannot recommend this spot.

Do not go here. AMA is way better.
Its all you can eat but they do not bring the food for an hour.
We sat down and it took them 15 minutes for them to take our order.
We waited over an hour for our food. I asked multiple times and they said it was coming.
When they clearly still haven't started to make the food we left and left $20 for our server for her time.
over an hour in the shop and no food or drinks. No one stopped to ask us about anything. All workers had headphone in and were on their personal cell phones.
They were waring sweatshirts and basketball shorts and had no customer service training at all. No one told us there would be a wait and no one said anything to us at all even after we stood up to leave and left a $20 for our waitress.
The person we told we were leaving just looked at us and didnt even take the 20$ i just set it on the counter and said we are leaving.
This was by far one of the worst experiences of my life at a restaurant.
Please do not go here - they need to hire actual people who can smile and work instead of just stare at their phones and take selfies of themselves while we were trying to speak to anyone about the wait.
We showed us at 6:45 on Friday night. we left at 8:10PM with no food or any service other than our order being taken.
If its all you can eat and they will not bring out any food i think they should be shut down. We were looking forward to this all week and were shocked and left feeling horrible about everything.

My experience at the restaurant was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, no one greeted us or asked about the number of people in our party. After we were seated, it took over 10 minutes for someone to take our order, even though the restaurant was not busy. We opted for the all-you-can-eat option, but there were strict rules in place for it, limiting the amount of food we could order. After we placed our order, it took 15 minutes for the food to be served, despite being only the fifth customers in the restaurant. We put in a second order right away, but had to wait for 20 minutes before the food arrived. Additionally, when we asked for the check, the cashier didn't even know what section we were sitting in and had to ask our waitress and she doesn't not too. Finally, when we left, no one even acknowledged our departure or any customer.

I still decided to give it a try after reading so many bad reviews and how bad the service there.
To be fairly, the food was GREAT
It seemed like they didn't have enough staff so there's only 1 lady kept running around and took care the whole restaurant which i felt bad for her.
Nice interior, good food and just need to hire more people.

Terrible service. Went for all you can eat sushi. Nobody came to take oder for 15 min after seated. Appetizer came 30 min after order and no clue of when sushi will arrive. At that point got up and left. We did pay for the appetizer we ate. They charge $13 for 2 egg plant and $10 for 3 peice of shrimp.

Quite possibly one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. We had been seated for 15, and had to go up to the host stand, before anyone even came to grab our drink orders.
We were there for the all you can eat sushi, and it listed a 2 hour time limit, but I don’t know how they can justify that, when we waited 45 minutes for our first order to come out. The sushi wasn’t even great and several things we ordered didn’t come out as listed on the menu.
We ended up cancelling some of our food, as we had been waiting for well over an hour at this point for things.
Several tables around us got up and walked out, just as frustrated, if not more so than us.
Will never recommend this place, I’m very confused on how they’re even still open.

the sushi itself was pretty yummy, especially for all you can eat. but the service was AWFUL. we were able to order twice in 2 hours, and then ended up walking up to the hostess to pay because our server just never showed up again. also they added 18% gratuity automatically to the bill, even though there were only 2 of us. probably because the service is so awful people wouldn’t tip at all.

Coming from @Ralph_Matthews tiktok video, where he went ahead and deleted my comments for giving my honest opinion. I also noticed that he went ahead and deleted a lot of other comments that spoken against the restaurant. My first experience here was below subpar. I really tried to keep an open mind about it but the quality, service, and experience just wasn't there. It was pretty empty and even then the food took forever to come out. The menu was very bland and vague with little information about what I was ordering. The men's restroom was not in the best conditions. The sink's counter top was cracked in half and was falling in. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here for anything. On their website they claim to be something that they are very far away from. For the price range you're legit better off going to Ichiban Sushi also in Edina.

The food was mediocre at best. We had a terrible waitress, waiting on us. She only stop once to take our order and she never came back, to make sure that our drinks were refill, or take away our empty plates of food that we finished eating. When we asked her about our food, she was very rude and condescending. The whole Hostess Treated us the same when we pay the bill.
The real reason why I will never go back is:
We went during lunchtime for the ALL YOU CAN EAT lunch price of 21.99. They overcharged us 39.99 for dinner pricing (notice the “D” after the 39.99meaning dinner price) plus they charged an extra $15 for some noodles, that we have no knowledge of ordering .
I did not realize being overcharged until I got home . Be careful of the Hidden charges.

If you want plates tossed on your table, cold food, and very rude customer service, go there.
What you’ll receive is:
- no greetings
- 20 mins to get water
- 30 mins to get food
- cold food
- missed some of the orders
- they gave us food that we didn’t order
- other tables had a nice plated desert while ours weren’t
- rude attitude
- no labels of raw fish on menu (be careful if you have allergies)
- ordered sushi, but they didn’t inform us what it was. Once I asked, they gave me a rude response as if I should have already known what it is.
- they brought playboy sushi that had flames, almost burnt us without any caution. (Watch out for your eyebrows & hair ladies)
Not sure how someone can give this place a good review.

My first time trying this place and will be my last. We weren't greeted so we stood there awkwardly waiting. The food was mediocre but not worth the hype and price. I rather go to Tokyo sushi to be honest.
Their menu is really terrible. No pictures and no description of what each item was or what kind of ingredients are in it. So when our food came, we didn't know what was what and the staff didn't bother to tell us either. The menu also doesn't tell you what has raw fish or cooked fish. Some food also came out cold but we already waited a long time for our food and was starving so we didn't even bother to complain and just ate.
The mood of the staff and the way they set our food on the table was really rude and it just ruined our appetite. I don't recommend this place at all.

Last Friday I made reservations at 7 but when I got there no one greeted my friend and I for 20 minutes and when we did get seated they gave us table that was given to previous group but they left due to not be served for a long time. I understand that covid is over but you can at least wipe the table down. We then waited another 15-20 minutes for someone to bring us water and to greet us. When we try ordering drink half of the drinks weren’t available and the all you can eat menu listed no ingredients, we had to look up yelp reviews. We didn’t get to eat until a hour after we sat down and we only order once just for the fact we didn’t want to wait a long time for food again. During our whole time there were multiple people getting up and leaving due to the long wait. I understand they were short staff but the lack of attention to anything was really bad. There was no sense of urgency for anything and they seem to not care about their service. I think what got me the most upset is that they charged us 18% gratuity and there was only 2 of us. My friend and I were super upset but didn’t want to argue and left.

Terrible service, waiting 40 minutes after taking our order is probably the worst I've experienced. Then to only say that you'll talk to management when you are the manager is straight lies and bs.

Went there before the dinner rush for the ayce menu. Somehow they were so busy we were only able to get 1 order of food in. We placed the second order, which was only a few items and it didn't need to be cooked as it would be already premade but it never came. We saw it sitting there at the sushi bar for over 10 mins. Asked another waiter to bring us the tab, they forgot to, went to the front to ask the same waiter to pay for the tab. There were a bunch of people waiting to get seated. Bad service. Limited menu. Won't go again. Not worth the $39.99 ayce price.

Came for all you can eat on Saturday around 1PM. Got in one order that didn't cost more than $50, server never came back. Waited over 50 mins then I went and waived a server over to get the check. Charged me for all your can eat prices ($39.99 per person) didn't even give me an option for a la carte. Total came out to be $102 after an 18% service charge.
The order:
Edamame
2 teriyaki beef
1 teriyaki Salmon
Shrimp soldier roll
Grasshopper roll
Shrimp tempura roll
Definitely not worth $102, informed the cashier and was giving a 25% discount, which brought to total down to $82. Still not worth it after waiting almost an an hour with barely anybody in the restaurant and never got to order other than the first initial order.

Food was good for AYCE but service was bad. And they took too long even if there was barely any customers. Sadly spent over $100 for little food because it took too long so I left. They also tipped themselves on my tab even though it was two people... as a group of 5 or more I understand but two people? And I would have not tipped due to their bad service. I didn't get water until I asked after I ordered the food. The lady that worked there was not professional. I highly suggest not spending your money here..

Honestly, this is my first slowest service I’ve ever experienced. We order our first round within 20 minutes of waiting at our booth and it finally came out after 20-30 minutes. (This was all you can eat buffet dinner hour). And by the time, we went for our second round, it was the same results. SLOW. We stayed there for 2.5 hours just for two rounds of all you can eat buffet. They did miss some food items that we ordered as well.
It’ll be my first and last time coming to eat at Raku. 😐😐😐
FYI:
For each person was $40 plus tax and gratuity 18%. My party was 4 people so the outcome was $215.

Came for the AYCE special. Waitress was abrasive and rude. They were short staffed but the waitress made our time there extremely uncomfortable…we waited almost 2 hour and she only brought our appetizers…we did not receive even 1/4 of what we ordered…we had to end up leaving after we saw ppl who hadn’t even been there 20 min get their food before our table. The waitress did not care or even try to apologize she would just argue with you that they were short staffed, which explained the wait, not her awful attitude. We did talk to another waiter and he was very nice and helpful- so it help redeem the restaurant a bit. Cant really give an opinion on the sushi since we didn’t get a chance to try any.

I had the absolute worst dining experience at this restaurant. From start to finish, it was a disaster. The staff was unbelievably rude and completely inattentive, leaving us waiting forever just to get a menu. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, bland, and looked like it had been sitting out for hours. To top it off, the place was filthy—dirty tables, sticky floors, and a horrible smell. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

Food was very mediocre given the prices. Not worth it. We've had much better sushi elsewhere. Ambiance is not great, it's not fine dining. For example the table lamps weren't dusted and you could see the dust on it even from a distance. Would definitely NOT spend money here again.

This was my first visit and rather disappointed that they were out of nearly everything I tried to order from the menu. Rather odd since it wasn't a busy night. We saw our server maybe once to take our orders during the 2 hours we were there. Maybe it was an off night since the place seemed nice.

Did the all you can eat Dinner. Our server was nice but notice that some of our order came wrong, we didn't say anything since we decided to try it out. Although if it did happen you should say something since on the menus front page says any unfinished food will be charge regular menu price. Food was alright, taste similar to others. Only one thing from the dinner menu we like, the rock shrimp tempura. BEWARE unless it was just me who didn't see the fine print, it was just us two and there was a 18% service fee. I was to shock to say anything. I wish I knew ahead of time, if I did I would not have gone here. I paid more here than any other all you can eat. A bummer won't be coming here anytime soon. Expect to wait for someone to take your order and even longer for your food. It does come hot and or warm but will seem forever even with a few peopke dining. Also, there only one single restroom. There's a parking ramp for 2 hours or 5 hours

Took a little while to be seated even though it was quiet, which didn’t really bother me. We didn’t have a reservation afterall. But we sat in our booth for 20 minutes without being served. So we got up and walked out. Will never come back.
We came for all you can eat and they are no where near ready to support that service.

Would’ve been a higher review but I ordered delivery and they forgot the dressing to the salad. And when I called to let them know the phone number listed hangs up or you get a busy signal. Annoying because the food is usually pretty good.

I had two favorites from the menu: the Playboy sushi roll and the duck spring roll. Overall, the food quality and presentation were splendid. However, I had an issue with the service. We arrived at 7:50 PM and were quickly seated, given water, and presented with the menu. A new waiter took our order, but it took her about 16 minutes to place it, and another 15 minutes to bring us just three appetizers. By 8:30 PM, we still hadn't received our sushi. A more experienced waiter eventually assisted, which sped up the process, but we were then overwhelmed with food close to closing time, making us feel rushed and unable to fully enjoy our meal.
I understand the challenges new staff face, but it would have been beneficial if she had received more support to ensure timely service. While everyone was very polite, the slow service due to inadequate support for the new waiter was disappointing.
Regarding the pricing, dinner was $39.99, but split among three people including the tip, it came to $51. The 18% service fee (the tip) was $23. Although it was an all-you-can-eat experience available only on Fridays and Saturdays, I do not feel it was worth the $51 given my experience. The limited amount of food we received somewhat redeemed the situation, but overall, it was unpleasant. I will not return to dine in, but I may consider takeout in the future.

Came for dinner on a Sunday. Very suprised that the place was pretty empty. The decor definitely looks upscale (and the prices), but the feel of service as well as clutter around the store wasn't.
The sushi rolls and sashimi I ordered were solid. Better quality than Tokyo Sushi, Akita, and Kyoto, for comparison, but not outstanding. Their other asian fusion dishes, though, were an odd mix of flavors that did not suit my pallette.

We have tried Raku before and liked its offerings. We came back again to try out their weekend AYCE special last week. It was very busy and it did take longer than usual time to get our food. However, considering the food quality, I would still recommend it. Most of the AYCE places I tried before offer lower grade fishes and sushi rolls with a lot more rice & less ingredients. Raku’s special rolls are the same as we ordered from the regular menu.

The service is extremely slow and overshadowed the dining experience. The sushi, sashimi, and rolls is good and are typical Japanese fare. Although nothing really stood out and the sashimi portion is on the thinner side. Had the 'all you can eat', but the time between each order took about 30-40 minutes to arrive (even for ice cream). The price for kids 4 and up is half price of the full adult price, which doesn't make any sense - how much food can a 4 year old eat? This restaurant has a nice setting in a nice area and is fine if you have over 2 hours to spend for dinner.

We haven’t been for awhile, but gave it another try. The lady serving us was very friendly and the prices were reasonable, but everything else was below average. The glasses were dirty and/or spotty, the food was ok, but could be fresher, and the wasabi used was of a very low quality (clumpy and neon green). Hopefully they can turn it around.

Meh. If you want sushi in the twin cities, there are SO MANY better places. The rolls were good (put enough sodium-laden sauce on anything and it tastes good) but the market price otoro sashimi was seriously disappointing - barely worth $5, not the $15 MP. The service was also painfully slow considering there were only two other tables at the time. Nothing was BAD per se, but I expected better given the previous reviews and general quality of food in this area.

Excellent sushi. Pretty expensive.

We were excited to check out Raku, however, the older lady at the front stared us up and down without even greeting us and did not make us feel welcomed at all. Also, when we left she was just talking to her friend on the phone. If you’re going to do that, you might as well go to the back or something. It makes your restaurant look lazy and that you don’t care about your job!

A pleasant surprise in Edina. Great service and a very impressive menu. The Surf and Turf is worth trying along with the shrimp tempura.

This restaurant is way understaffed during the evenings and it affects the whole service. The desperately need another server to run this restaurant appropriately.
I am one of the most qualified critics in the twin cities, as I have worked at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas, as a bartender for nearly 20 years.
I served royalty, hundreds of celebrities, two U.S. presidents.
Also I have opened several top nightclubs in MPLS.
Consulting: I was 19 when I came up with the idea to sell merchandise at The Rainforest Cafe and helped with pitching the concept to investors out of Steve Schusslers home.
Grandma's I helped in launching the Bloomington location, in Las Vegas Casinos and restaurants I consulted in developing marketing strategies and themes.
This restaurant in review won't survive if it doesn't address this matter. It is starting to get the reputation of poor service. The most damaging reviews are not on Google, they are by word of mouth to friends and relatives.
The food is good. But when understaffed expect cold food due to food sitting in the kitchen window too long, missing or incorrect items, long wait, incorrect charges, etc.

I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the service I experienced at this restaurant today. My party and I arrived at 6:30 pm today and were promptly seated by our server. However, we waited for at least 30 minutes and our server still had not taken our order. When we finally placed our order, it took over an hour for our food to arrive.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food was mediocre at best. It was not worth the long wait and poor service we received. The food for two people arrived first and when they were finished the rest of the party received their food. Among these was a 3 year old child who waited more than an hour and a half to just have some chicken teriyaki and white rice. Additionally, our server did not check on us during our meal and we had to flag them down to ask for refills or additional items. Even the water glasses were not filled and some people in the party had to eat their meals without any water.
I hope that you can address these issues with your staff to ensure that other customers do not have a similar experience.

Food isn't that great. If you want authentic Japanese food, look for a Japanese restaurant. Raku is a Japanese name, but food is chinese, not Japanese. Wasted 3 dishes, and it isn't good. Food is not worth the price very little.

Absolutely underwhelmed. We were the only people in the restraunt but service took forever. Sushi was just rice with raw salmon on top and don't get me started on the "chicken salad." Frozen Breaded chicken on some lettuce and dressing that took over half an hour to come out to me. Please don't go here.

Happy hour is gone and so am I. Never coming back unless it's back. Pretty stupid Raku. I got lots of people into your restaurant because of your once great happy hour. Now, you're trash to me and anyone I talk to about Raku. Such a pity. I think they'll probably be closed soon.

We've gotten takeout here lots of times and the rolls were always good.
We've dined in twice and this afternoon we were literally the only customers there and service was extremely slow and lacking. They forgot food items and there was a dead bug in the water poured from a pitcher.

I used to love this place, but over the years it has gone down significantly in service and food quality.
The last 4 times I have gone I thought “I will give them one more chance”, but tonight was the last time. The line chefs preparing the sushi rolls was coughing sneezing and hacking up mucous or something, WHILE PREPARING THE FOOD. Super gross to listen to. Also, the one reason I came was for a vegetarian soup, and when it finally came, it tasted different (I have been ordering this soup for 10 years). I had to find the waiter to ask him if the ingredients have changed and if they used a non vegetarian broth. He said it’s always had meat in it, which didn’t seem true to me, but was really disappointing on so many levels. I could rant on and on about it but… TLDR: never coming back

The restaurant is nice and quiet... very quiet. The food is good and the service is great. We ordered multiple sushi and other little yummy things. All was great.
The 3 stars are because of the prices. Yes, it's the heart of Edina so it's probably always going to be a little more expensive than most other places around here. But there are limits to the prices increase. We will never go back to that place eventhough we enjoyed it but for the same price I'd rather have more to eat or a better food to eat.

The service and atmosphere were nice, but I had the yaki udon with shrimp which was rather tasteless. This dish is my favorite at another restaurant so I was looking forward to finding it elsewhere. Before ordering, I’d asked if there were vegetables in it. The server said yes. Well a few thin slivers of carrots were the only veggies. The dish consisted of six shrimp on a bed of noodles with little flavor. In the future I’ll stick with my other restaurant.

This is a nice low key sushi place. The atmosphere is usually quiet, even on the weekends.
The sushi rolls are well made and taste great. The avocado salad is one of the main reasons why we like to come here. The service from staff ranges from okay to good, while prices are a little high.
Overall I really enjoy coming here. It's a little hidden gem that many don't know about.

Stopped in at less than prime time. Probably a mistake. Had light casual meal of pork dumpling appetizer and tempura shrimp appetizer with veggies; started with a glass of sauvignon blanc, polished off with hot tea. Food was very good. Indeed I was captivated. However, service was not only painfully slow, it was provided with zero interest in me as a diner. What began to look like a first visit quickly became a thing of the past. Further, the entrance is almost scarily unattractive—a dirty, dismal and off-putting initiation to the pretty space within. Worth a try; not enticing for another visit.

Mostly had sushi but it was a good mix of inexpensive sushi rolls with some nicer specialties. The tatsuta age is interesting, tastes almost like a fancy Japanese McNuggetb with a nice sauce, recommend trying it out.

This is a long time favorite restaurant. They are a sushi and Japanese bistro restaurant and they have a wonderful dining room with plenty of tables. Good for large parties like birthday dinners they are in the medium expensive range but not bad and the quality of the food makes the price well worth it. They have a very unique menu which includes a lot of pictures but I personally find difficult to navigate. That is really my only criticism of this establishment I do wish they would get Coke products however nobody likes Sierra Mist.

Service was suuuuuper slow. The server never asked us if we wanted drinks. The place wasn't busy at all.
We had edamame, shu mai, and gyoza to start. The edamame was nothing special, but still delicious and freshly steamed. The fried shu mai was super tasty as well. The gyoza were a little underwhelming. They were on the bland side and not warm enough to my liking.
I then had the captain crunch and hurricane rolls and my gf had the ramen. My rolls were tasty but small (especially for the price) and they both had cooked elements that were on the colder side, which is fine for sushi.
But the real kicker was my gf's ramen had completely uncooked noodles. Like still a solid brick of noodles that had not gotten cooked enough to unbrick themselves. We sent it back and it came out about 5-7min later and this time the noodles were cooked but the egg was overcooked, the larger cut of pork was replace by strips of fatty pork.
I had ordered rock shrimp and a fire roll after my gf had sent back the first ramen. about 3-5 minafter she eventually just gave up on the ramen, and i would have too at that point, the rock shrimp came out. It was fresh and delicious.
Then we waited 15 min, at least, for the fire roll. The fire roll was good but the spicy tuna(?) had a really offputting texture.
This place could easily be a 4 star if the service was better and the food cooked properly and served at proper temps.

Appetizers were decent. Nothing really wowed me. Boyfriend got sushi, which was good. I got ramen, which the noddles weren’t cooked threw. The server took it back and they reheated it more, so the noodles were cooked overly on the outside yet still hard in the middle. So I sent it back and decided me eating there wasn’t going to be a thing. Service was okay. We were there and the restaurant was pretty empty.

They have some great special sushi options. The roll with jalepeno on top was one of the most spicy sushi rolls I have tried, and I would get it again. We also had the Kyoto and lotus rolls, which were both well done. The chicken fried rice was a good consistency, and much less oily than most fried rice options.

Amazingly friendly service, fabous sushi, and a great atmosphere! Perfect for our family dinner - highly recommend the calamari and tempura appetizers as well as any of their sushi. I had a seasonal special crab-tastic roll (can't remember the name but it was crab inside and out) which was great. Very gluten- and allergy-friendly place! The waiter made sure that everything for my brother was gluten free, and the kitchen remade a few sauces for him to order to insure it. For my allergy-prone sister they maintained a clean kitchen for her food preparation and even rewashed a fork and knife for her to make sure it wouldn't be contaminated!

I went multiple times but mostly dine in. They are ok. Today I ordered take out at lunch. I couldn’t believe that a half( 5 pieces of sushi rolls) costs me $15. I called and asked the woman and she said “nothing wrong with the order. It is what it is” i got so mad. i am an Asian and knows what it should be. Also when I pay $15 for lunch from the menu with pictures, at least I should get the whole roll not the a half. What a deceiving and What a terrible business they are doing. I don’t even want to give a single star. They didn’t give me refund. I told them to take my money if they need it. I would Never ever go back this place. I would suggest you go other places for a better service, quality and quantity unless you want to give them extra money they don’t deserve. There are a lot better places in Twin Cities. This is a fake version of Japanese restaurant.

Staff wrote in a higher tip amount and overcharged my card. I called to have the error corrected, and was told that someone would call me back. No called back. The amount overcharged wasn't significant, so I'm not going to bother with it, but it's still tantamount to theft.
