Ate here last week on July 29th, 2024.
Will post pics.
The Sashimi is priced a bout $3 give or take per piece.
The reason why there is split hours is because they close to get ready with the restaurant they share a space with and get the "oyster bar" ready for the evening hours. Also cannot order the dinner items like the Chicken Items unless it's in the evening.
So Sushi is only available during lunch hours.
Good tasting Sushi. Nice Service. The food was placed so nicely! My twin ate sushi for the first time. She loved it. I cannot eat Shellfish but she can. So she ate the lobster roll and LOVED it!
I ate Alaskan Roll, Hawaiian Roll, Salmon Sashimi and Tamago (egg) Nigiri. I LOVED the Tamago Nigiri. I tried the Panzu sauce for the first time. They have Teriyaki sauce and 2 different Soy Sauces for people.
In the pics of my food I do not have pictured the Alaskan Roll, My sister and I shared her Alaskan roll.
I shared pics of the restaurant.
I was able to get around with my cane. I would not recommend using a walker or wheelchair. Outside the pavement is not smooth. There is a seating area outside but it was really hot out and it was nice inside. My sister and I sat down next to the koi pond.
I think I got eaten by a couple mosquitos though.

First time for sushi. Tried the Hawaiian Roll, Alaskan Roll, Rock and Roll, Lobster Roll, Tamago Nigiri (egg omelette), and Salmon Sashimi; teriyaki and panzu sauces. My favorite, so far, are the Lobster Rolls and the Rock and Roll. On my plate, I had the Lobster Rolls, Rock and Roll (shrimp sticking out) and the Alaskan Rolls. My sister had on her plate, the Tamago Nigiri (taste amazing, so soft), Salmon Sashimi (taste so good in both the Panzu and Teriyaki sauces) and the Hawaiian roll. Everything is amazing. 5 Stars.

Just for a heck of it, I figured I would ask the chef if he would make me a spicy tuna Onigiri, and he said sure...enjoyed it to the last bite!!!

I can't say enough good things about Sushi Bar!
We felt completely safe with the social distancing.
Our server, Missy was perfect. Great with suggestions!
We ordered the TNT roll, Lobster (which was AWESOME), The Detroit, and Spider Roll. I got the toykyo mule, which was fantastically delicious, and my wife got the maddie's garden with gin. Equally delicious!!
We will be back!! And soon!!!

After 42 yrs in FL I have returned home to MI. Searching for good sushi. I have tried 5 places in Downriver area. This one gets my #1 spot for the Lobster roll. I enjoyed the Rock n Roll as well but lobster was awesome. Will be back to try more.

Overall, not a bad spot for sushi downriver if you’re looking for a closer restaurant than Black Pine Tree. However, the prices are high for about the same quality as Black Pine Tree. If proximity to downtown Wyandotte is desirable and $10-15/normal roll, $15-20/specialty roll, is affordable, then go for it.

Waited a while for a server. No big deal tho, wasn't in a rush. Ordered 4 rolls for 2 people. The spicy Mayo on top of the spicy tuna roll was a little overpowering for the roll itself and kinda took away from how good the roll was. Rock and roll roll was very good. Enjoyed the crunch in the middle. Crunchy Roll also had a very well-rounded flavor. Quiet, relaxing, and comfortable atmosphere. New favorite sushi spot. (Pics: rice wrap was spicy tuna, sea weed wrap was the Rock and Roll.)

The place was very dark and gave going out of business business vibes. A two-sided restaurant; one side being more Bar the other side being more sushi was confusing. Sushi was ok
Service was AMAZING. the rest of the food just no. Unfortunately, the amazing service is not worth coming back for w that low quality of food at those prices. it’s literally basic bar food plated cleverly.
I asked if the tip was included when I handed the server my card as we were in a hurry to leave, I did not get the bill, my fault. I was told no, so I did tip VERY well, but then find out the tip was included. Adding automatic gratuity is just not ok. Yes I should have looked but I should have also been told the truth.

I ordered carry out and waited over 40 minutes for just 2 rolls and there was barely anyone in there. They added gratuity to my order and the chicken roll was what seemed like unseasoned chicken breast. Definitely not going back.

Made reservations with specific area and number of people, Was not ready when we came. Server was not paying attention. We orderd the rock salad, Half of the ingredients is missing. Manager said some are out of season and some are out of stock. Then why put it on the menu. We ended up bring the salad home and the server package the food and added some dressing on the side. Guess what the dressing was not closed right ended up with a soupy salad. Server never refilled our drinks the entire night. And the manager said our server was their best one. I guess we're not coming back if she's their best server.

Terrible. Food was not good and took forever to get it. I guess I now know why this place was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. Stay away from this one.
Addition: Went back because some friends wanted to try out. IT WAS WORSE THAN THE LAST TIME. We waited 40 MINUTES for our food. I am not exagerating. I will NEVER go back. This place is TERRIBLE.

Ordered some sushi after such a long time without going and was surprised to find gratuity added to every order, even carry out. So not only has the prices gone up since I've been there, but they've added even more because of "added gratuity". Cherry on top is the fried rolls I did have, did not taste fresh and I should've known then, as the next morning was a mad dash to the bathroom. Shame, used to eat here a lot in the past, though I believe they have given up on the sushi (and focused more on the club on the side.

Worse place for sushi, if you want good, AUTHENTIC, and cheaper sushi, go to Black Pine tree or Sushi Q on Eureka. The salads were absolutely disgusting, the dressing very putrid.
The chicken katsu was way too thick and over cooked. The rice undercooked and crunchy.
The shrimp tempura appetizer was undercooked, the batter was soggy and full of oil.
Our rolls were small and gross, my roll missing an ingredient.
Don’t waste your money.
Please go to Sushi Q or Black pine.

My daughter and I wanted some sushi for dinner and we found this nice sushi restaurant not far from our house. The selection of sushi was good and the service was great. Folks were very attentive when serving us. Prices were not bad at all. I had the rock and roll sushi and my daughter had the California rolls. We also enjoyed looking at the fishes they have in an actual pond in the restaurant. Highly recommended and we are definitely coming back.

Update: 12/16/23 Out for hubby's birthday, with another couple. Waitress brought half the food, then another 1/4,then the appetizer, then the last 1/4 if the food. Disorganized. We asked for couples split of the bill, she halfed the bill??

We have had sushi 🍣 in 5 different countries and all 3 west coast states and it was a terrible experience 😫. Sushi light on sashimi old rice and the shrimp 🍤 tempura was not shrimp. Calamari was chewy ugh and we got tea bags instead of a pot. West coast prices. San Francisco was cheaper. Probably a great place for a burger 🍔 and a beer.

I was craving some sushi, in any kind or capacity, for my birthday, and am I glad that we stopped here. Many choices are provided, as well as vegetarian selections and if you ask, they will show you gluten-free options. We had an excellent hostess, Sarah, who made our experience all the better. I'd say it's a great stop for a birthday, as it ended mine well. And if they offer you fried cheesecake, I suggest you accept it, I almost made the mistake of declining! Definitely coming back!

This place must have changed management recently because the last several times there have gotten worse and worse. The food has not been great and the management is terrible. The manager with the long dark hair seems useless. And the outdoor dining patio has become the smoking section apparently even though it's August and outdoor dining should be booming. Didn't matter that there were out people outside eating at the time. We will definitely not be back.

First 2 dishes, gyoza and spider roll were okay, gyoza was Fantastic. But the main dish, chicken katshu? Absolutely horrible, not cut st all, so a whole fried chicken breast you're expected to pull apart with chop sticks, not to mention it was like biting into rubber. And my company didn't get a single drink refill the entire time we dined in.

This restaurant is very unique
When I first walked in, I couldn’t choose whether I was going to sit inside or outside, because the vibe was top-notch
A very good playlist, so if you wanna listen to some good music, I highly recommend
There’s a pond in the middle of the restaurant, what I find very humbling with beautiful fish swimming around
I love the ambience
The menu is off the hook there’s so much to choose from
We order a lot to try new things always and no joke
Everything was perfection
I’m a huge foodie and I’m definitely a food critic so I definitely give this restaurant five stars
I over ate because of how excellent everything was
Met the owner Mike
was so generous and kind
Cannot wait to go there again !
Highly recommend if you like top notch fish/raw /smoked etc

Where do I start? We were seated underneath a security camera, literally right above our table (I love the feeling of being watched while I eat). I asked the waitress if there were sushi sheets to order the various rolls and nigiri I wanted to try but she didn't know what that is (said she was new) so I came to the conclusion that this establishment doesn't have them and ordered a $70 chefs choice since there are few rolls that I actually don't like... Boy was I wrong about this all of the sushi was delivered warm and most of it was dried out, the tuna nigiri was an unnatural red almost brown color making me suspicious of fish dying but tbh I didn't risk eating it (or much of the rest of the meal) as I didn't feel safe eating it, all of it was nearly room temp. I'm sorry but I can't say I'll be back to this one.

Will not be back. Arrived when I was told the food would be ready while the girl was friendly she was brand new and had no idea how to work the register, she couldn’t find my order had no idea how to check me out and had to go and ask a manager, which makes sense why the food ended up being cold by the time I did get home. In the process she realized I guess they forgot my soup and edamame so they were rushing to try to make it when everything else was done, and in the process severely over cooked the edamame to the point that it was barely edible. I’ve eaten sushi in every major city in the eastern half of the country. It is by far my favorite food. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this disappointed for $60 of food in my life. Kome is easily 50x better. Sushi Q 30x better. Honestly Kroger sushi would have been less disappointing than this place.
The spider roll had no avocado when it was listed on the menu. The cucumber was flavorless. The rolls were bland and boring. Literally grocery store sushi has been better. Higher prices than other places locally that with 5,10 visits never had any blunders like this one did.
Granted new staff, maybe it was kind of an off night but if I owned this restaurant and a friend secret shopped it for me, and I had heard of this experience; I would be livid with absolutely every single person that was working that night.
It’s funny because downtown Wyandotte really wants to try to be Plymouth and Northville. It’s not just about charging more. This may come as a surprise, but The quality is supposed to increase too guys. With how bland everything was, with how hastily over cooked the edamame was, and with everything that was supposed to be warm cooled from improper planning… They were not even that busy and it’s not like I came in right at closing time or something like that. Without a doubt I would say avoid this place and maybe instead just go take three $20 bills and burn them with a lighter it would probably be more enjoyable.
Every time I passed by this location I wanted to try it, but after doing so I’m just glad that I found places like Kome. Maybe the generic copy and paste name of “sushi bar Japanese cuisine” was a giveaway that this place was going to suck as bad as a sushi place possibly could.
Reply to owner: Nice copy and paste reply - I wouldn't come back if it was free- you are honestly lucky I care about small businesses enough that I don't reverse the charges for what we threw away.

Does the chicken katsu for $25 really only come with 2 small pieces of chicken? Where did the other peices go, it was 1/8th of a chicken breast. Highway robbery. I ordered months ago, but it still upsets me to this day when i think about it. I guess they left an impression on me, a very negative one. To anyone considering eating here, please LOOK ELSEWHERE!

The 2 stars are for the sushi as it was ok. The prices are way off on google in comparison to the menu at the register. What should have cost roughly 75 without tip cost 106 without tip. The teriyaki chicken meal came with 4 slivers of chicken, 1/3 orange stacked on the rind, a scoop of rice and 3 piece of broccoli (their steamed veggies) for $21. The tiny house ginger salad is $6. Was excited to order from here as they were finally open but was quickly let down. The girls were sweet at the front and it looked nice inside but maybe more worth dinning in for the exp.

First the positives the ladies up front super pleasant
The sides of white rice were good and abundant
Now the negatives we got three eel rolls- this was not fresh - the eel was for sure old - the crab was imitation crab - 70.00 you figure you get high quality fresh ingredients - nope - pass on this place it’s literally the worst sushi we have ever ate

So if the restaurant owner ends up reading this its only 4 stars due to the pricepoint and the staffing. But 110% kudos to the chef that was preparing the sushi the night we went. I did not catch his name but he was a kind older gentleman.
.
So most of the sushi rolls here are $4-$8 more expensive than other sushi places in the area and in terms of selection its a little less than other sushi restaurants we have been to. But isn't necessarily a bad thing. The food was very flavorful but it took almost 90 minutes from when we ordered our food for 6 rolls and they were slightly busy. BUT, my understanding is that 2 of their chefs called off last minute so it was just the one chef and he gave us a very sincere apology. All in all the bill for 5 rolls and an order of chicken teriyaki came to $110. We will be back at least once more to see if there is more control with the proper amount of chefs and thus less chaos and waiting and if it solves the issues above I will gladly revise my review to 5 stars.
.
Just a side note- nothing bad. We were going to bring my brother here because he likes sushi but he's 10 and we didn't want to explain the meaning of the "Multiple Orgasm Roll" or the "Viagra Max Roll"
.
TL;DR: It is a nice little sushi restaurant with great flavors but the prices are nice for a treat and I will be back. But I have a hard time justifying the price when there are 5 or 6 sushi places within 5 miles with 80% of the flavor for 40% of the price.

Coming here was a complete mistake. Prices are outrageous here compared to any other sushi places I have been to. I wouldn't mind it so much if it was actually good. This has been the first time I had such awful service in my life. His name is Kyle. He messed up our order & didn't bring out everything we ordered (he clearly didn't write anything down) we had to wait even longer for our food to be remade after I told him one of my rolls were missing as well when everything was messed up my missing roll still didn't come out with the remade sushi. When I asked him about it again he said they are "working on it" obviously he forgot again so I said forget it. We didn't get our vegetable fried rice which again Kyle forgot. Once we got our remade sushi I had 3 pieces & couldn't eat anymore the rice was warm & soggy. Never have I had bad sushi like that before. I will never come back here again. I see why black pine tree had a long wait & they had very little service. Spent 90 dollars to go home hungry.

So disappointing . 100 for 3 rolls and rice and it was all cold and soggy . I got charged for adding jalapeños and extra sauce.. which was no problem . Just to not get them I arrived 30mins as they said and waited about an extra 10mins just to get food that was cold old and soggy.

My favorite place to get sushi! The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. They have a pond inside with the cutest fishes you’ll ever see.

Food is awesome. Staff is great. Little pricey but not bad. But if your first highlight of this place is that it's lgbt etc... friendly than that's just a reflection of how stupid people there must be. Because EVERYWHERE is fine with those people being patrons at their restaurants. Don't worry, they have high chairs for u.

The drinks are excellent. The Sushi is good.
The prices are insane. Everything I ate was more expensive than and not as good as sushi Q. The only difference is this place is by the water and sushi Q is in a strip mall.

The overall experience was wonderful, I was not in the mood for sushi so I ordered the the Japanese tenderloin medium rare. The meat was cook perfectly tender juicy and ful of flavor. We ordered crab egg roll and fried dumplings, the appetizers were presented beautifully. Rae ordered the surf and turf roll and Cali roll, he said they were both very good. The waiter was very attractive and well spoken. The chef even came out to ask of the steak was prepared correctly. I will visit the shush bar in Wyandotte again.

Horrible service..left me waiting over 30 mins for a order than asked me what the order was & prepared it..40 min total wait for a order that was called in ahead of time & literally takes 5min to prepare..costumer service & management is garbage..manager wasn't even apologetic or willing to accept responsibility for his mishaps

Fantastic experience, we've been there several times and it's always great food and the service and staff are always on point. If you're looking for a great sit-down place to have some amazing sushi and great drinks this is the place for you!

I'll be honest...I'm not sure where all these stellar reviews come from. But we decided to give this place a second try tonight for a Birthday dinner of sorts. The quality of the food was a solid 1-2 stars...The staff was great, but the food was NOT worth the price.
Edamame was wrinkly and tasted Microwaved
Shrimp Shumai tasted like reheated frozen tater tots
$10 for 6 small Salmon rolls I could have gotten for cheaper and with more salmon at Sushi Q or Black Pine Tree
$18 for a Special roll that was 6 deep fried rolls...That were cold. Normally you get 8-10 Good pieces for that price.
This is what annoyed me the most and it's my mistake for taking a chance with them.
$30 for their Beef Tenderloin entrée. Besides the "Steamed" slice vegetables being terrible (Much more used to having actually pickled vege's as the norm at a Japanese themed restaurant.) The Beef itself was smothered in a decent sauce. But there was barely any steak, 6-8 chunks varying in size that were actually tough to eat. Never asked how I preferred it, Medium Rare of course, but it came out Medium I guess. I couldn't tell until I cut into a chunk to see a piece center and charred exterior.
We've ordered out before and it was meh. I wanted to have a great experience in person here, but I would never recommend anyone go here over the other local places. They are all cheaper, better quality, and MUCH better standards for fish and meat.

Sushi was good. But honestly it was so overpriced. Which I understand has to do with everything going on right now. But two premium rolls came out to $40 bucks. Overall I had two premium rolls, 1 California roll and 1 shrimp tempura with 1 coke. About $90 with tip.
Idk, I have never paid that much anywhere else. The sushi was really good though they’re menu is very condensed.
Idk, I hope everything can go back to what it was but I can’t contemplate spending so much on 4 sushi rolls for right now.

Overpriced and poorly made this visit. If you wanna spend $25 for a shrimp tempura boat with three shrimp or $12 for a roll that comes out oddly warm (wasnt a fried roll either) then check them out!.
Wish I could say this was the first negative experience I've had but, the staff and regular rebranding sorta speaks for itself.
If you're looking for sushi or even just a decent dining experience/competent management then try elsewhere.

This is the best sushi place in downriver. I’ve been ordering from here since they opened years ago and I even worked here for a shower time their first year open and I have nothing but good things to say about the food, atmosphere, and the owner Mike. My favorite rolls are the crunchy roll and the yummy yummy role. Everything from taste to presentation is on point. Their calamari is the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The biggest pieces and the spicy mayo sauce that comes with it is so good. I wish I could eat here every day, it’s that good. I wish I would have taken the sushi making class that they offered, please bring that back!
The sushi is so fresh and beautiful, it doesn’t get any better then this. There’s no comparison the sushi bar is in its own category. When I worked there the owner Mike was so nice to me and he was a great boss to work for. So I know first hand how important it was to have the freshest ingredients and to have a beautiful presentation with every plate served and it really shows. If you haven’t tried this place or are thinking of trying it out, don't hesitate DO IT. Don’t walk, RUN! You will not be disappointed. I finally got my husband to try some rolls that I ordered for a carry out and he loved everything. I had been ordering from them for years and he refused it so many times. We’re planning a date night there this weekend and Im so excited.

Upscale sushi experience in Downtown Wyandotte! Definitely on the pricier side compared to other Downriver and Dearborn sushi restaurants, but the sushi was absolutely incredible and generous in size. The ambiance is really nice for a date, and since there's an attached bar called on the Rocks, it's a great place to grab a cocktail too. I really liked the lighting and the koi pond is a nice touch. Great service too. I'll definitely be back again!

I took my daughters tonight for Sushi. The atmosphere is fantastic and our waiter Colby was AMAZING!!! His attention to detail, knowledge of the menu and just overall a happy, fun person (who you can tell enjoys his job) made the experience so much better!! We can’t wait to go back!

I would not recommend this restaurant for a group outing. We waited 2.5 hours for food with a table of 8 (with reservations ahead of time). We watched each and every table that walked in and out get served, while we waited for our food. One table even ordered take out during their order and got that while we waited. Before you say "it's a large table at a sushi restaurant," a table of 12 came in and got their food before us, even though they were seated after. They offered us "shots" for poor service - half of our table doesn't drink (including myself) - and when we turned them down, the response was, "What you guys don't like shots?" To make it worse, they offered nothing for our wait. They charged for each and every iced tea refill while we waited. We were told that we can ask for a round of drinks "next time " we are in. Overall, very disappointed. I love this restaurant, the food is great. But not recommended for a group outing.

The place use to be amazing , but idk lately has been slacking , and then now they raised the prices like crazy… 2 rolls shouldn’t be almost $40…. Use to be $25 here ..

The prices were dishonest. The waitress watched me check pricing before taking my credit card, then handed me a menu with different prices after I paid. When we pointed it our she threw out the old menus in our sight and Apologized. The price was not corrected and I was sent home with a menu with wrong prices. Do not go here if you value honesty- it can't be found.

The sushi was amazing, My favorite is the cruncy roll and I also usually get the spicy California roll to. I tried their lobster roll from the specials menu, very huge pieces of sushi. Prices were a little pricey on the new menu compared to the old one. I have yet to find a place that makes a cruncy roll like they do and it’s definitely a must try!

Good atmosphere, friendly service, and good food. However, the past two times I've been in here, I've been mildly disappointed.
They did not have the octopus, which was on the menu. So I ordered something else and it took forever.
I came in here a couple of days ago around 10pm because all of the other sushi locations were closed. So I ordered some saki and asked to see a menu and they said they were done serving food, even though people were still coming in to get carryout. They couldn't have put in one more order? It's not like you have to heat up new grease or something. So then I had to sit there and drink my saki, watching a bunch of workers bull*hitting around. So I went to Kroger and get their sushi.
Overall, I have a tough time saying that I'll be back. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because the atmosphere is quite good and servers do seem to be sincere. Their food is actually good too if you are ever able to order

The food is objectively good, however I've had better for cheaper. margarita had like a handful of basil leaves in it, which took over the entire drink. the drink was like $10. I wasn't impressed by the menu, if you're gonna charge $20 for a roll disposable menus aren't the way. Take the time to just disinfect them between patrons. (however if you legally can't right now I get it.) Our waitress held our drinks hostage as she talked to people at the bar. took like 10 minutes to get a pop and a simple margarita wasn't very busy. Again, the food is good, the prices don't feel justified for what you get. paid like $65 for a Mountain dew, a margarita, An appetizer, and two rolls of sushi. This place is for sure for you if you enjoy being surrounded by and watching Trashy people, and listening to country music while trying to enjoy average Japanese cuisine.
Now if the ingredients are organic or fresh caught fish etc you gotta make that painfully obvious and that could partially excuse the prices.
