Please don’t go here if you are African American they are racist the service is horrible our party arrived at 6pm we didn’t get our food until 8 we only had 1 waitress serving 10 people, drinks was horrible, we requested to see the manager to let her know the issues we had she threatened to call the police because we had complaints. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE RACIST! This restaurant gets zero stars!

The reply tells you they are racist and very unprofessional do not go here if you want to be treated less than the manager and waitress was extremely rude.

Very unprofessional a real establishment that cares about customers concerns will reply back with a better response by trying to see they can make the next visit better for them instead of constantly replying back being rude and unprofessional!

Today, I order two dinners steak and lamb chops. The meals cost $106.00. The sides were red skin potatoes and string beans. It really looked like they took one order of sides and split it in two. Fishbones has “fell off”the lamb chops were tough. I wanted to take the dinners back.if I go back I will inspect my dinners before leaving the carry out counter.

Nick H was my server/ bartender. He’s much a great guy. He was truly a pleasure to have serving me. His attention to detail was fantastic. He was very polite, attentive, and had some wonderful recommendations on the menu as far as an appetizer and an entrée went. He was quick on refilling my beverages throughout my meal. Great guy! This guy definitely deserves a raise!
I had the Hellfire Saganaki OPA and the Chicken and Andoullie Jambalaya. Both were prepared perfectly. I even asked for speak with the chef to let him know that the kitchen did an amazing job. I can’t wait to come back,

I ordered two salmon dinners on Nov. 26th. I was very disappointed, little portion of salmon and rice. Broccoli was generous. I paid over $36.00 per meal and it wasn't worth it.
I was a fan of Fishbones, but I felt truly ripped off. Not even a roll or anything else. Portions were too small for the price.
I'm usually a loyal customer but not now. What happened?
We were celebrating the holiday and it was not up to your usual standards.

Do not come here at all. I only ate 5 pieces of alligator voodoo. They also give false names here. Go downtown for Fishbones. This place is awful and be careful there is some lady in there trying to steal credit card info.

Recently we contemplated visiting after patronizing this and the GreekTown location many times over the years. Decided to do a quick scan of the most recent reviews which were generally good but the owners response to a few which seemed to be legitimate concerns of diners was a little bit "off putting" to say the least. We still decided to go. Our party of four was warmly greeted, seated and nicely attended to by our server. Was pleasantly surprised and appreciated the discount to military and first responders. Draft beer list was extensive. We proceeded to raid the appetizer menu and the sushi. Boom Boom roll was very good, catfish beignets pretty good a little soggy but edible. Our server was attentive and efficient. Calamari was good and a slight snafu in interpreting a menu item was graciously corrected by I assume the day's manager. The band was excellent. We enjoyed our time and will visit again.

I'm updating my review. I was just swiping through some of the 1 to 2 star reviews being left. I was shocked to see that "The Owner" has chosen to trash-talk his patrons that left negative reviews. It's not impressive at all. The customer did their part, out of all the choices they chose your restaurant, they even paid their bill, the owner even made a profit and rather than showing a modest form of professionalism "The Owner" chooses to antagonize the customer. Not a good look. I recommend heading to Zefs, or The Waves, Hook or even Pegasus....I know for a fact if you have a bad experience there, they'll work hard to make it right and not mock you.

My husband and I, decided to come to this location we thought that it would be like the Fishbone's in Greek Town. A big disappointment. First his pop was carbon water, my pink lemonade was colored water. We sent those drinks back. This cat fish was under cooked, the steak was dry, and our baked potatoes were burned. We waited an hour for the food. The gumbo was just gravy, shrimp and rice. We won't be going back.

Got some sushi and it was super dry, below average taste, and the ingredients weren’t packed tight enough together. There was also an 18% auto-gratuity on my bill which I find ridiculous. I always tip but to impose a tip doesn’t feel right. Probably not going back.

I had a frustrating experience with my order. I specifically requested seafood jambalaya with no sausage I said time 4 times , but when I got home after 20 minutes driving , it was full of pork. I had to make the trip back for a replacement it. The second plate was supposed to be “seafood “include shrimp and scallops, but it only had shrimp and salty as hell . Two strikes in one night is really disappointing. I expected better quality and attention to my order.

I have been ordering sushi from fish bones for years. I really enjoy the tuna avocado roll and the Philadelphia roll. The tune avocado roll is supposed to have fresh strips of tuna and not a whole piece of tuna that you cannot chew! Even the salmon in the Philadelphia roll was hard to chew. Where is the seasoning??? The food was bland like whoever was cooking never heard of salt and pepper. The most tastiest part of the meal was the salad I ordered. I had the Bayou Platter which contained Shrimp, redfish and catfish beignets. All were fried beautifully, but had absolutely no seasoning. The red beans and rice was just that red beans and rice with no flavor. I think for the price we are being charged there should be some seasoning on the food. I hope you guys read this and act. I won’t be coming to this location anymore and if I do, I’ll be sending the food back. Food cost too much and although your menu says 18% gratuity, the receipt said 20%. I’m learning more and more to cook and stay at home!

Food was TERRIBLE! The ribs were clearly boiled & then placed on some grill. The alligator bites were reheated from the day before! They were hard & chewy! The fries that came with the ribs were cold & soggy. Just terrible! The only saving grace was the bread & butter that comes with every order. Typically when I order from here, the food is freshly cooked & pipping hot. I usually order in the evening & this time around, I ordered a few hours after opening. Maybe that has something to do with the terrible food, although it shouldn't matter what time of day you order. I thought I could depend on them like in the past, but obviously not!
What kind of response is that from an owner that is in the business of serving food to people? You would think that this person's attitude would be more accommodating & humble. People work hard for their money and with the quality of so many restaurants diminishing, people patronize restaurants they believe they can trust! After much deliberation with a family member about where we should we get our food, we picked the place we thought we could trust for a good hot meal. I've been disappointed by restaurants before, but your response makes our poor meal that much more disappointing, and it's your attitude that will keep us from eating there again.

My daughter took me here on my birthday . The food was good but seems to be with much smaller portions. The waitress was decent. I'm not a fan of gratuity being already added, especially if it's just a party of 2. I pretty much like deciding to do my own, especially for the amount being spent...I've been here another time with my friend, he ordered a burger, she came back with fries on the side, he questioned it, she said it comes with it. We get the bill, we were literally charged $22.00 for a burger, pretty much charged for the fries..Then I noticed a white couple leaving their tip on the table, didn't order as much but, was wondering if only certain people have automatic gratuity added. The young couple didn't seem like the type to tip if it was already in the bill... you have to be alert with this place. They seem to add when not ordered and charge you at the end. Overall, I would go again.. just be more aware of what's going on.

Stoped in on a weekday. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. We ordered. My fiancés food came out about 10 minutes after mine did and it was cold. He ordered the chicken and ribs combo, the ribs were cold through the middle almost like they were just re heated in a microwave. When the bill came, the chicken and ribs were billed as separate dinners. We let the waiter know, he then told the manager. The manager then proceeded to rush around the restaurant with our bill and a menu in his hand talking to multiple employees, It just seemed like a circus for no reason. The waiter came back, gave us our bill we paid and left with no additional tip then the already added 18%. Just for how expensive of a restaurant this is you would think they would have it together a bit more. Hook seems like a better bet.

My sauteed green bean, with burnt granules of garlic powder were served with 4" branches and stems, multiple. Large crabcake dinner, not large shy of 3", made with bland canned crab. Tastless, and just shy of burnt. My companion had the seafood pasta. By nightfall, a stomache ache. By morning, full blown case of food poisoning! Sick but not hospitalized. Drained and recovering. We decided to treat ourselves to some good seafood and were all very disappointed. I’ve never left a bad complaint in my life but I feel like I have to leave one. The service was fine. You can tell the waitress really didn’t care to try very hard knowing you get 18 percent gratuity added onto your bill. My cod dinner was completely tasteless. Zero flavor. The fish, Cole slaw and even the tartar sauce was completely bland. It was also cold. My kids both got the two different types of salmon. They were both unable to eat much. Cold and just not good. The fries were fine. My fiancee ate about 4 bites of her gumbo and was done. The bread and butter was good.
I didn’t complain. I should have. Honestly it’s very strange how tasteless the food was. The bill with 4 basic dishes and 3 cokes was $175 including the forced gratuity. I would honestly eat long John silvers over this place. I wouldn’t eat that again if it was free.

This experience for Father’s Day was horrible! The staff is not knowledgeable about their own system, menu or proper service. Upon arriving the gentleman couldn’t work their reservation system and sat us three different times, each time at a smaller table, our party was for 7. After this was fixed our waitress was not present, very rushy and had not the best attitude. We’d like to note the time of our reservation it was not a full house by any means. So the delay in service was not understandable.
Furthermore, the food was not up to par. I and my family have frequented multiple locations of Fish Bones and this food was nothing we were used to. The gumbo was thick like sludge, no protein in either the seafood gumbo or the yaya. The crawfish was not properly cleaned, catfish plates were disgusting! For all the disgusting food only one of us asked to swap our meal, SWAP! Meaning still pay just order something else and take that off the bill. The manager came to our table rudely. Spoke in a clipped manner, told us,”I don’t want to hear your description of the food” and debated taking the food back even when alerted how DIRTY the crawfish was. If you are ever thinking of going to fish bones, please pick another location!

This review is in regards to their take out service. I have eaten dine-in dozens of time. Typically the foods quality and portions are great. I have found when I order take out the quality and portions are significantly smaller. Tonight I ordered a caesar salad with chipotle ranch and I added a chicken breast. The added chicken breast was $13.00. As pictured the $13.00 chicken breast was tiny, and I did not receive the correct dressing. I have ordered this exact same order as dine in and not only was the dressing correct but the portion of chicken was much larger. A little more attentiveness to having the correct order would be appreciated when we are spending as much as we are of their food. Disappointed and slightly irritated.

I recently went to dinner with my family this past holiday the waitress was very nice and patient even tho we were missing one for a lil bit I had ordered the chicken and ribs when my food came it was only the ribs I didn’t say anything. My mothers had the steak she and my step father both tried her potatoes and both agreed they didn’t tasted good like they were a week old and reheated I didn’t make this review based on the food. I made this review base on how your allowing your wait staff to auto add gratuity on the bill which was 20$ that’s not how gratuity works people tip based on there food and experience while dinning at your restaurant I have to say I was extremely surprised this insanity was allowed to happen! I went for a birthday celebration
The waitress never got more water or had our used plates picked up. That's the least of the issues. When she brought out food that I wished I never ordered it was cold. Never warmed. Bar-b- que pork ribs and seasoned fries. I showed the waitress and asked did they even cook them. She ended up taking them back snd they were heated or cooked. They had so much fat and I picked around to find any meat. Altogether about a teaspoon of meat to eat. I asked another waitress to get the manager. He came out snd I showed him the ribs that were 95% fat. He agreed and said yes you usually hope to see lean ribs when they are ordered. In addition they were cold when you got them. I said what can be done. He then offered to take 1/2 off of the cost. Later when i saw the bill I told the waitress he really should have refunded it all. She replied well you did eat some of the ribs maybe thats why. They both looked at it like they wouldn't eat it either.

Our waitress decided a table of 5 was more important than our table of 3, gave us bad service , we had to constantly remind her of things she forgot to bring us , Fishbones automatically adds a 15% tip to your bill , regardless of your service. You should be able to decide the tip you think is deserved !!!!! We won't be back because of this !

My experience here has been good for the most part. The service is okay. The food is good, and fresh. It's definitely not a cheap restaurant. The biggest thing is they started to add in an 18 percent tip to the bill. I am not a fan of this practice for a few reasons. 1st the wait staff seems to not be as attentive to check up on you. There is no longer an incentive because they know they are guaranteed a tip. And 2nd bc it's not for the restaurant to decide what I am choosing to tip. If my service is good I'll always give above 20% if not then you get 15% at minimum. With that being said I do enjoy the food here.

I rated this restaurant 3 stars because we used the take out service and there was items missing from our order. Tried to explain it to the manager and he said that this could never happen. He didn't offer any voucher or discount on our next purchase or anything, just said this couldn't happen. Make sure you check your orders before leaving when using their take out service.

Advertised Easter Brunch. Drove past many places that had brunch. The food was cold, and drunk people were loud. Drinks maybe, however, never going there to eat again. This place had perfect brunches. Really has just gone downhill.

My name is Richard Porchia and I was with the party of 9 on Saturday 3/24/2024. My waitress was amazing and very attentive and professional… she was also one of the most gorgeous ladies I’ve ever laid eyes on. The food was amazing and she kept our glasses filled. I requested a candle for my mom’s key lime pie and she was more than happy to oblige. Great place, Great Food, Great Atmosphere and one absolutely stunning waitress. I can’t wait to come back from Florida and experience this place again.

I’ve been coming to this fishbones for over 20 years and unfortunately as of lately the service and the food has been terrible. I ordered gumbo Ya Ya to go and when I get home it’s nothing but rice soup! Rice & broth, it wasn’t gumbo at all! When I complained to management they said it’s not their problem & tried to put all the blame on door dash, a delivery service… with that being said they lost a customer & I will never go back.

Having been a former resident of St. Clair Shores, I was excited to finally try Fishbones after hearing about it for years.. Unfortunately , the experience was underwhelming at best.

Upon entry, me and my wife were impressed with the ambiance. It's a large, well decorated, classy, comfortable space. We were immediately excited and were fully anticipating a nice dining experience.

We started with drinks. My wife ordered the Paper Airplane cocktail and I ordered a Dewars straight up. My wife's drink was understandably pricier being a cocktail, but my (cheaper brand) scotch ended up being the same price, which was a bit annoying.

We were starving when we arrived. So, we ordered crab cakes to start almost as soon as we received the menu. These were VERY disappointing considering they're $25. The two patties were soggy, flavorless, and very small. They were no bigger than 3 1/2" around and were less than an inch think. They came with a sauce that was clearly just whipped mustard and mayo.. Kinda gross.. I've seriously had better crab cakes from the frozen section at Aldi (not an exaggeration).

As for our entrees, I ordered the Icelandic Cod Fish and Chips and my wife ordered the Crawfish Etouffee. Aside from my cod being sad, small portions, it was just gross. It was soggy, over fried, and aside from tasting like old fry oil, it was flavorless. The small, gross filets we accompanied by a MOUNTAIN of French fries that were okay.. but no better than what you'd get at any other chain restaurant. The amount of fries that came with the meal made it almost seem like they were trying to compensate for the sad amount of fish it came with.. This meal was absolutely not worth $28. I've had better fish and chips at hole-in-the wall diners for less than half the price. My wife's etouffee was definitely the better of the two meals. But again, it was flavorless, small portions that they should not be charging almost $30 for.

Being that the overall meal was wholly disappointing, we decided to cap it off with bread pudding for dessert... Can't really mess up bread pudding right?? WRONG. The bread pudding came out and we were disappointed yet again. They were brought to the table and they immediately looked unappealing. The two small, flat, rubbery bread puddings were both burnt and flavorless yet angain. After one bite, we both decided we'd had enough.

I will say, our server was pleasant and the service was good overall. Nothing bad to say about the wait staff.. However, we will not be returning to Fishbones. We genuinely feel like we'd been ripped off. For an establishment that presents themselves as a classier seafood joint, this was wildly disappointing. Overall, the food was gross and not even close to being worth what we paid for it.

Save yourself the trip and don't waste your money. You'll find better food at a greasy spoon for far less money.

NEVER do door dash with them. I had to have one item redelivered twice and another three times. And they still could not get it right. This was horrible in all aspects and would never recommend them for any form of delivery. Hopefully their service when dining in is much better but after this experience I will probably never ever try to find is out.

I needed a private spot to eat and have an important discussion. The wait staff was extremely understanding and worked well around us. They checked on us in a timely manner and was well aware of what was and was not available in the kitchen. I appreciate this knowledge bc it's irritating to have them come back 10 minutes later to inform me they don't have what I ordered. The food was delicious. The ambiance was superb. I will be back.

Great restaurant with live music and good food. The salmon with ginger was delicious. We also tasted the alligator bites. Delicious.

Our server was very attentive despite the busy crowd on a Saturday evening. We highly recommend this place. The menu was pretty expansive to meet all appetites.

I hadn't been to this location in year. I ordered the jambalaya. It taste like it was straight out the can (processed) and extremely spicy. I asked to send it back to order something, different. I hardly ever send food back. The manager came over to our table and refused to take the jambalaya back. I wasn't rude to him for not taking it back because I knew I wouldn't be coming back to this location.
My sister ordered the gumbo. The gumbo taste like flour soup. They need a new manager and cook. The waitress was nice however.

The food was very costly. It didn't taste good. I order lamb chops they were very tuff. The green beans were not season well. The server act as if he did not want to wait on us. I was sad we had to pay 18% gratuity. My bill was $88.00. I could of had better meals for that price. I do not mind paying if the food is good. This was my second time there and was not satisfied. The manager had a no caring attitude. I will never go back there.

I apologize that my call about the gratuity and wait time for food turned into a joke to you. I never wanted or asked for any monetary compensation. I could hear that you put me on speaker phone and I heard the snickering in the background. Your tone had went from friendly to sarcastic while you spoke of the ticket time stamp and the video surveillance that you were looking at. I got triggered. My son got triggered. I don’t think you needed to be so rude to me and to everyone that was listening and laughing at me, shame on you.
