Staff was rude, didn’t give us food that we included in our meals, when asked for this food they told us “you’re not special,” charged us for services not provided, snatched a menu from my hand when i was looking at it, very impatient, as soon as we sat down they asked us to order, came over 3 times in less than 5 mins asking us if we’re ready to order, was told several times we had a mushroom allergy they still cooked with mushrooms and my boyfriend had an allergic reaction. Gave my daughter 5 small pieces of steak with her order, had to give her some of my food. Charged us $25 for the chef to cook the food which is literally his job, but he didn’t even do any tricks or anything special-didn’t speak to us, every person was rude, they rushed us out of there when we were nothing but nice and respectful, there’s more but not gonna write a whole book, what i will say is, don’t go to this location. If you’re going to shoguns, go to a different location because they are rude and will charge you for things you didn’t even get.

Food was great, Hibachi was just ok( didn't really entertain ), and the service was great, my only complaint....... they add an 18% gratuity to your bill automatically regardless of 1 guest or 20. That's kind of wrong in my opinion. If service sucks they still get a tip. Honestly I was going to leave them a greater tip than 18%, but after seeing that I decided not to tip more

Everything was good, I actually was disputing reviews about the sushi. Cuz it was excellent! I had 1 issue, my boyfriend and I ordered 3 rolls on the sushi bar side- not hibachi, there was a $12.00 service charge aside from the tip!! Scuz me but what did you do? Bring out our rolls?? Thanks, but I wouldn’t have left a $12.00 tip let alone more on top of whatever this service charge was. The total I left was $78.00 and yes that included their so called “service charge” and to note, this is literally the first review I’ve ever felt the need to leave. And I am not “young” so they bothered me enough to decide now I should leave a review!

There is a very rude waitress. I think she is prejudice. And there were some rude front desk people, but I don’t know if they’re still there. And the hibachi is still good. And the price is reasonable comparatively. Shogun used to be one of my, and my family's favorite restaurant. I think you get your money for your buck, with the Hibachi lunch deals: Soup, fried rice and meal. Even the combinations, or the filet mignon are reasonable.
The place was renovated. Overall very nice.
2 things that can improve: 1 of the chefs, he always looks angry and talks that way. But it's just 1 of them. And now the new windows in the hibachi area, are opaque. No longer any sunlight.

If i could give 0 stars then i would i got 2 meals meant to be 28 dollars the reciept showed over 70 i left with a 100 being taken out of me and they showed me a hidden charge on a 2nd recipe really risking business for 30 dollars then ill warn others do not come here the waiters were in a rush, they make very unfair portions it was between 3 people me and a friend along with a random we got a quarter each me and my friend while the other person got half do not come here a bunch of scammers. I went to their restaurant last night, horrible experience the lady couldn’t even get my order right. I ordered a side of rice and sesame chicke… they brought out a big ass plate of rice that I did not ask for…… it was just me and my 2 year old daughter unbelievable that I had to pay $44.50 for a meal that I thought be a reasonable portion but they bring out a plate full of rice and chicken that would feed at least 3 to 4 people. I’m very upset that I had to pay all of that money. I feel like I was cheated. The restaurant didn’t have that many people in it so I feel like I was over charged. I asked the lady when she came out. Why did I have that big of a plate? I got the big and it was that much very heated because why did you think I wanted a large side of rice. she said that the rice only comes in one size, but on the receipt it’s labeled as a large side. They definitely need to get their menu in order because customers were overpay for food.

My new go-to hibachi spot, without a doubt!! The food was incredible, happy to bring home leftovers to feast on later. Very fresh and great flavor. The service was much better than other spots. Tony was an engaging & generous chef. Every other staff member was helpful and friendly. If you’re craving hibachi, don’t waste your time (or money) at any other place! Can’t wait to go back.

Be aware! They are adding a 18% “Service Charge” regardless of the quality of service! Chef seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else (no effort on the typical “ show”), waitress would just drop off rice/drink, not ask at all if we needed anything. It was NOT worth a 18% tip! My family is picky about takeout places. We will be changing where we get it (to here 😄), and here's why:

*This place actually confirms that you're picking up the right order. That makes me feel like they care that you get the correct food.
*The service was phenomenal. I only did takeout but the hostess was so sweet.
*The food was the freshest we've ever gotten from an asian food place.
*The presentation is great.
*Who ever preps the meat needs a raise!!! Not a single piece of grizzle!
*The prices are reasonable.
*Everything was delicious. I've attached photos. My family ordered General Tso, Almond Boneless Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and some extra egg rolls.

I'll make sure my friends know where to go! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience, you've gained some regulars!

Our experience was not good, the calamari was squid, the saki was cheap tasting, the table beverage server was extremely rude. WOW. Be careful, they give you a total on your bill, then they add a 18 % “service charge” then they have different percentages of expected tip to be added again. You have to really look what you are paying. Very shady.

I have ordered food from Dragon Phoenix for many years and have always found it to be of good quality, BUT, something has changed over the last few months. We have tried the Pepper Steak 2x and it is mainly onion, some peppers and very little meat. Because of the change with the Pepper Steak we recently ordered Almond Boneless Chicken. It was so overcooked that it was difficult to cut, let alone eat. Very disappointing!

Something has changed since my last visit. Normally the american chinese menu takeout is rather tasty, this time around the fried rice was hard, as if it had been sitting out for half a day or more. It wasn't cooked using the same ingredients, the taste was completely different and not in a good way. Our sauces on our dinner menu items also tasted different, with our sesame chicken having a BBQ or ketchup flavor! For $75 I expected better. Not sure if they lost a chef or changed suppliers for sauces or seasonings, but this is no longer worth it for me, I'll look somewhere else.

Was here today with a party of 10. After everyone got there order in which was rushed by the waitress the chef came out. Dude was very cool. Went around the table asking how we wanted our steak cooked and skipped me. (I ordered steak and chicken with fried rice). Weird whatever they asked my son I told them so I thought he kinda thought that's how my steak would be. When he was done cooking the fried rice I put my plate up he looks at me puzzled and asked if I wanted some. At this time I tell him I ordered it. He shows me the ticket and it's like I vanished from the table. My son got steak and fried rice. The chef cut up all the steaks and dished them out to everyone and was about to give extras to everyone without giving my son his steak. My son and I got the butt ends of all the extra meat he cut up. Lol the steak had so much fat in it. Glad this wasn't on my dime but if it was you can find me at an actual hibachi steak house like Osaka. Seriously like a mile or 2 down the road right by Costco. Go there. You'll pay just a smidge more but you won't have to pay extra for noodles and the service there is top notch. Once again Shogun=👎

I honestly did not have a very accommodating experience unfortunately . The service felt rushed and for a $58 meal this was not worth it . At the end of service I was accused of not paying my bill , until the waiter actually listened to me and noticed that I was holding two receipts , his demeanor then changed and he yelled “THEN SIGN THEN SIGN “ I then had to reiterate “you guys gave me no pen you simply shoved the receipt in my face “ and he told me to “please have a good night” . I’ve never been pestered or antagonized before in a hibachi restaurant , and will not be returning .

Automatic gratuity was added to our bill, family of 4 and the bill was just slightly over $100... which I've never experienced unless it's a larger party. When we go to similar restaurants we always tip at least 20% to the server, then give separate equal tips to hibachi chef, and then sushi chef on the way out.

I happened to read some reviews while we were waiting and saw among the mix some suspicions of racism. I cannot find anyone mentioning an Automatic gratuity, and it's not on their website. I don't know if this is normal practice for them or if it was discriminatory on their part but I got the vibes enough on my own that between this concern and the exorbitant wait for average food in a relatively empty place, I can't imagine we'll return.

When me and my fiance first got there we noticed it was empty and we wondered why. The waitress was pass aggressive and had a ride angry attitude when taking our order, forks were dirty, the Cook didn't speak ANY English and the Rice was not fully cooked, it was hard and crunchy to whereas it was inedible.When we were about to leave as we requested carry-out containers the waitress's whole demeanor and attitude changed completely ase she became very happy that we were leaving as if we weren't welcomed there in the first place!

We will not be visiting this particular Shogun restaurant ever again to be treated with piss poor service!

I'm trying different restaurants in the area since I'm new here. I'm not a fan of how the food tasted personally. The fried BBQ pork fried rice was ok even though I was expecting more meat and the pot stickers (chicken) were nice and plump but the sauce was really salty and not what I'm used to tasting from other locations I've tried. The service was amazing and quick and it seemed like a nice environment overall.

Dining in is about the experiences you get out of eating these types of food. If you want Chinese food then take the time to drive to John R and 14 area. I’d say steer away from shogun on hall road. Yeah, what I pay at PF Chang is so much better bc of the experience and the food equally good.

This restaurant is mismanaged ,misrunned,went there on a Saturday evening about 6:30 pm,I did not have a reservation,they put my name on a wait list, women at front mentioned that reservations come first, said it would be 25 minutes, there had to be at least 40 people walked in the door no exaggeration I was shocked in the end after waiting over a hour saying we would be seated next it never happened,all they said was sorry,just know they will take reservations and people that walked in and out in the list we're not getting seated,stay away from this shogun on hall road,they clearly don't know what they are doing running this business,they were extremely overwhelmed go to another's shogun or japanese steakhouse,I will not attempt to go to that location again,it was upsetting waiting all that time and we were never going to get seated!

More of a 3.5 rating for me. First time ordering from here (online) and food isn’t bad but…

I ordered the broccoli beef (cause I wanted mainly broccoli as veggies) and for the special note I wrote “spicy” — they charged $1 just to make it spicy. Heck?! I’ve never had that ever happen at any other restaurant before. Definitely a first. Well the broccoli beef had other veggies AND IT WASN’T even that spicy. I should’ve just ordered the Szechuan Beef to save the money lol.

We also had the Chicken Lo Mein. Portion for both dishes weren’t bad. Taste were decent. Will probably come here again when craving Chinese food. Will just have to be smarter next time with my order.

Worst dining experience I have had in years. No heat in the room we were given. 50 degrees, they were trying to heat the room with space heaters. Asked the staff multiple times to turn on the heat and they ignored the request. My whole party ate with their coats on. Manager did not care and said we should have asked for more space heaters. After being told I couldn’t make a reservation, they let me make one at 7. My party showed up on time and got seated. We seemed to wait for everything. It was an hour for soups and the salads. We had to ask for them to And then we waited 2 hours which they closed at this point for them to start cooking. They were super rude the entire time and then when bills came out 2/4 we’re overcharged with drinks and food. When we told the server that the bill was wrong for one of them she slammed it down on the table and walked away. We then had to get a manager to fix it right. They charged us all the service fee for $15 on top of this. Wouldn’t recommend if you want a good night.

Went to shogun on Hall Rd for my grandson Logan’s birthday (his favorite restaurant) WORST service ever. My daughter in law called to make reservations and they told her they don’t do that. Come to find out they do do reservations and was told 730. Got there at 715 and was seated shortly after 730. They took our orders and then we sat for over 1 1/2 hours for our food to be cooked. The waitress kept telling us soon when we asked how much longer. Then we were told they were short chefs. I had a coupon for 36$$ for chicken and shrimp dinner for 2.

I told the waitress since I have waited so long I ordered the noodles and told her I will NOT be charged for them. Our whole party of 11 all got noodles for free. Then we told them to give us all 10% off our bills. There was no problem with that.

Then here come all our bills, my son’s bill had 5 extra beers and something else on their bill. Then here they come with my bill and tell me since I used a coupon I did not get the 10% off. I of course said ya No I was told I would get the 10% off also. Then the chic throws the bill on the table and walks away 🤬🤬. After telling the other person it was not taken off she did it manually.

Solution for good customer service from the start should have been yes we do take reservations (NOT lie) but want to make you aware that we are very short staffed with chefs tonight would you still like proceed.

If you are a sushi lover, do not eat sushi here! The waitress told me that it tastes different from restaurant to restaurant.. she thinks it’s my first time eating sushi lmao.

I told the waitress about how disgusting the sushi was, and she kept saying “I can’t cancel your sushi order” - which I never asked to cancel, but I wanted her to see what she can do for me when I’m not happy with my food.
Unfortunately she said that the chef cooked it, not her.. instead of giving the feedback to the cook, she was defending everyone.
That was my last time eating there for sure!

My food tasted great but it's because I got everyone else's meat! I ordered the strip steak meal, but then the chef put the strip and other people's filet mignon next to eachother, but after he cooked them, he chopped them up into the same pile and handed out the mixed meat to everyone! Every one else was understandably annoyed. My meal was 17.95 and theirs was 26.00, so I ended up giving up more money to adjust for the fact that I ate thier higher priced meat. They also don't pay attention to the fact that you order sashimi instead of sushi, all the fish came out on rice and had to be reordered.

Went for dinner with a party of 5. We all ordered hibachi. The chef was the least friendly and interactive chef of any Japanese hibachi chefs I ever met. He didn't talk to the guests, didn't flip the spatulas around, didn't do anything but cook the food. In addition his clothes looked dirty. His chef hat had a layer of grime on it. The steak was ordered medium and come out well done. The mustard sauce (which I usually love at other restaurants) was all salt and no mustard taste. I wouldn't recommend nor will we ever be going back. We definitely didn't get our $140 worth.

I haven't ate here in years but wanted to come back, visit and try their food again. We sat down and ate Chinese food today. The food was not bad at all. I will post pics. What was not great was the 18% gratuity added to all orders, no matter the size. Also asked for a refill on a side of white rice and was charged 3.99 for a cup of cooked white rice. Service was very limited. Won't be back anytime soon.
