We were fortunate to get a seat at the bar without reservations. The place was super packed.

We ordered the sesame noodles, Ruka spicy tuna, Vat bottom girl, spicy tot stickers, pork belly buns, spicy salmon fritas, and the big fish dessert - that was a lot of food for 2 people!

Everything was amazing except for the big fish dessert. The big fish waffle was burnt on the outside and undercooked in the middle.

I definitely recommend this place. We will be back here again if ever in the area.

The restaurant was very beautifully decorated and I loved the ambiance.

The food was very inventive and delicious. Especially the Japanese Fried Chicken and Korean Steak Tartar. The drinks were also great. The presentation was the best part. All the dishes were plated so well.

However, the service was subpar. The server was chaotic and the drinks arrived 10 mins after the first round of dishes. Besides that, our food came out pretty quick and in intervals which was nice because of the tapas style dishes.

Beware of how many dishes you order. Our server told us to order 3 per person, which means we would've had to order 12. We decided to get 6 and order more later but we got so full that we didn't order any more.

Overall, I'm not dying to come back but definitely give it a try if you haven't been!

Love this restaurant. Made a last minute decision to get dinner here after attending The Nutcracker with my wife. The menu had a lot of unique flavour combinations. I wanted to order everything on it. I settled for Crisp Shrimp, Chicken Fried Rice, Pork bao buns and Fried Cachungas and I loved every single one of them. I highly recommend this place.

We visited Ruka on a Sunday night last month to celebrate my birthday with my partner. The ambience was trendy and dimly lit, creating a chic vibe perfect for a night out. However, the seating and small tables were uncomfortable, which detracted from the overall experience.

In terms of drinks and food, I ordered the Gran Kai cocktail, which had a delightful yuzu flavor that I thoroughly enjoyed. For sushi, we tried a few items:

Kani Sakana: A refreshing dish with cucumber and mango, though it felt more like a light appetizer than sushi.
Ruka Spicy Tuna: The spicy aji amarillo sauce elevated this dish--flavorful and satisfying without the need for extra wasabi.
Phoenix Sunrise: A decent roll with a savory touch and a hint of spice, though it didn't stand out.
Yuzu Lobster: This roll had a generous amount of cold lobster, reminiscent of a lobster roll, but lacked the warmth I expected.

The service left much to be desired. It took 20 minutes before our waitress came to take our order, and she only checked in once after the food arrived--when it was time to ask if we wanted the bill and didn't even acknowledge the occasion, which was noted in the reservation. Overall, the sushi was decent, with some unique flavors, but nothing particularly memorable. Ruka is a good choice if you're seeking a trendy spot with unique sushi and creative cocktails. However, the lackluster service and uncomfortable seating make it hard to justify the price for anything more than a one-time visit.

Dined here for the first time and I was not disappointed. The ambience was amazing and the service was outstanding!

Make sure have reservations because it's always crowded there during peak meal hours.

We had the spicy tuna sushi, Japanese fried chicken, and Yuzu beef. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. All the meals are pretty much tapas style, so it's great to try new dishes and share.

The food was okay, around $19-26 each tapas style. We got 4 dishes for 2 people and it was filling, but the pork yakisoba was way too greasy for our liking. The ruka spicy tuna was very plain as well. Unfortunately, the service for us and the table next to us was really slow. We sat for 12 minutes at least before we were greeted by our waitress, and after we got our menu orders in, they didn’t serve our first appetizer until ~20 minutes after, which isn’t bad but still longer than expected. When we finished our food, our waitress was nowhere to be found for ~10-15 minutes. When we found her, we told her we were ready for the check (and she said she’d grab it for us really quickly). She didn’t come back with the check until another 10-12 minutes later. We ended up spending 2 hours at the restaurant for 2 people, which was not what we were expecting. The table next to us even got a partial refund for how slow their service was and an apology from the manager. Overall an unpleasant experience, wouldn’t come again.

Our server Erika was amazing! Super nice and really made the birthday special there with some yuzu jello shots at the end. She consistently checked in on us and the food and vibes were of course amazing as well. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Ruka offers a delicious take on Peruvian and Japanese bites. The sushi was amazing! So fresh!! If you sit at bar you see your sushi being made while enjoying a beverage.

Great restaurant with a wonderful Asian fusion vibe. I highly suggest the ceviche and a sushi roll. My only complaint is for an upscale Boston restaurant there need to be a coat check. In addition the restroom is in the Godfrey Hotel. Otherwise there was a nice vibe that is reminiscent of restaurant culture in LA or west coast locations. I would go back to try more of the menu.

This was an absolute awful experience. We had reservations for our wedding anniversary. We’re from out of town and were recommended this place. Never again

First off, they didn’t have our reservation ready for 15 mins after the time, no big deal but no explanation as to why its late or a sorry for the wait. Each reservation is good 90 mins. Except in the 90 mins they were only able to prepare 3 dishes? And 2 of them were sushi dishes. This was the absolute slowest service i have ever had in my life. My wife and i were so upset, and we literally got sleepy because of how slow and dead the vibe of the restaurant is. Our fourth dish was from their “hot” part of the menu and it literally came out room temp wasnt even warm. This was 2 hours into our meal, and at this point we honestly couldn’t care less we just wanted to leave so we quickly ate it while being upset and just got out of there.

Also the store manager, with her curly hair and glasses is absolutely useless. A lot of the patrons around us and around the restaurant were visibly upset and she did nothing at all just walking around smiling doing jack all. Learn to run a restaurant properly. There was only 1 server (philipino i think) who was smiling and being nice and trying his best. He looked like he was in charge of 30 tables because he was absolutely swamped, poor guy needs better coworkers and the terrible management needs to hire more people to help out if you know you’re gonna be busy. Maybe tell your guests if you’re short staffed (we dont know if they were) but considering how damn slow everything was im hoping they were.

But anyways ruined our night, complete waste of time and money, never going here again

Whoa this place was amazing! We went there for a date night before heading to the Wilbur and boy it did not disappoint. The food, drinks and service were amazing and actually our experience there outshined the show at the Wilbur. Literally the worst service we have ever had. We were celebrating the birthdays of two members of our party, but one of us got sick so we were delayed 20 minutes. We called in advance to let them know and they told us they were going to charge us the $100 cancellation fee since they have a 15-minute grace period, even though this late policy is nowhere on their website. We called twice trying to explain our situation, but everyone we talked to (we spoke to Mariana) was super rude and dismissive. This completely ruined our birthdays. We will not be coming back here and I recommend not giving them your money, time, or service.

Came to Ruka for our anniversary dinner after looking for a restaurant with a cool vibe, good drinks and great food. Ruka delivered on all three. We shared a delicious sushi roll and shared three hot dishes and had plenty of food. We had some leftovers that were just as good the next day as they were day of. Was pleasantly surprised by the price as well.

Overall: beautifully designed restaurant with great cocktails. The food is ok - we would come back for the atmosphere, not because of the food.

Highlight: The decoration and just the style of the restaurant is beautiful. We felt very comfortable. The music, the art, everything fits together.

What I wish would be better: some food options are worth the money (we enjoyed the calamari) but some options are just very basic and for what it is overpriced.

What an amazing experience!! The atmosphere, music, food, and staff were all excellent.

Had the phoenix and ruka rolls - absolutely phenomenal! Then went with the pork belly buns, wagyu skewers, and pot stickers. Just wow, everything was perfectly prepared and the dishes had great flavor. Incredible cocktails as well, 10/10 will definitely be coming back here soon.

We passed by this restaurant, this place had good reviews.

Sat down at the bar, and the bartenders couldn’t have cared less about us being there. Nobody looked us in the eyes once, and they continued their own conversations with their co workers. We had planned to have dinner at the bar, and were super excited to do so. But honestly, when none of the 4 bartenders paid attention to us, we paid and left.

A nice greeting, and explanation of the different style concept would have gone a long way. Is this Japanese? Is this Spanish influenced? We had no clue and we had no clue how to order because the bartender just asked us, “ready?” Nah. We weren’t ready and the service was awful.

1/10 would not recommend based on the service. No clue about the food.

My partner and I stopped by after the Ballet for a quick snack/small meal. It was too loud to hear one another across a 2-top.

We asked the waiter for recommendations, received a recommendation to get no fewer than five items, and ordered three dishes:
- Spicy Tuna Roll
- Pork Yakisoba
- Miso Delicata Squash

Of those dishes:
The tuna roll was fine. It was above average if you don’t account for the price, but given the price, it was in no way special.
The Pork Yakisoba was very good, and reasonably priced for what it was.
The squash was bad. Its texture wasn’t right, despite not being under or overcooked. We mentioned something to our waiter and he asked if we wanted to send it back, but we declined because we weren’t sure yet.

After the waiter heard about the squash from us, we weren’t checked on again. Our waters were left empty for 10+ minutes in a row with 2 spicy dishes, and then when they were refilled, it was across the table, contrary to what I’d expect from a nice restaurant.

We generally felt like the waiter was too pushy, and when we finally got his attention to get the check, he asked if we wanted more food despite us having 2 half dishes left for the last 15 minutes. We then waited another 20 minutes for a box and 5 more for a check. We tipped considerably better than we should have for how bad our experience was.

On top of that, the check included an obnoxious political advertisement to vote No on issue 5, which is to say, advertising to customers encouraging them to vote in a way that hurts waitstaff. How disgraceful can you get?

So TL; DR: Want an overpriced fancy restaurant, terrible service, pushy waitstaff, and half your food below average? Go here!

We had an amazing experience at Ruka this past Saturday, thanks to our fantastic server, Jesús. From the moment we sat down, Jesús went above and beyond to make sure our night was perfect. He was attentive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and offered spot-on recommendations that made our meal even more memorable. His friendly demeanor and genuine passion for hospitality made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of. Ruka is lucky to have someone like Jesus on their team
- we'll definitely be back soon, hoping to be served by him again! Highly recommend asking for him if you want a flawless dining experience.

Very rude staffs totally ignored by everyone there. All waiters just walked by and left us not even greeting or water. It was not busy at all. The place looked nice from outside so we decided to try. We were gonna grab couple of drinks with light snacks. But we were just ghosted very awkwardly and intentionally ignored. I have enough experiences from fine dining and speakeasy lounges in many big cities mostly in NYC but never encountered this kind of obvious rudeness. We came out then just went to Yvonne right around the corner. Oh it felt like home there.

Recommend:
Calamari, incredible and a really nice citrusy thing going on
Salmon Fritas, overall perfect tasty flavorful bite
Veggie buns, absolutely gorgeous, a little spicy, super satisfying bite
Pork Yakisoba, super flavorful and a lot of it
Sesame noodles, great as a refreshing dish to have on the side

Do not recommend:
Ceviche, delicious but so little fish for the price
RUKA rainbow, also delicious but nothing special
King Tupac, ditto

Overall the menu past the sushi section is unbeatable and it was hard to choose what not to get! Even the do not recommends are tasty just not so far past what you could get at other places, so not worth breaking the bank on them in lieu of better options on the menu :)

It was me and my guest first time in Boston did some research on this restaurant for our vacation was pleased with the great reviews online book a reservation for my 25th birthday I mention on the note on the reservation that we’re celebrating a birthday we arrived 20min early to are reservations I was aware we picked the high tables which I didn’t mind front of house walks us to are table right away but it ended up being next to the bathrooms.. we had a really great server that helped us with our order suggestions on drinks we had got a bottle but didn’t quite like the taste but she went out of her way to let us cover just the drinks since we didn’t like the bottle forever grateful for it over all food was great only thing I would say is to not celebrate your birthday here not one employee gave acknowledgment about are birthday celebrations and was even wearing a birthday crown has well :|

Beware of mice! Went in on Sunday evening at 5pm at opening, after sitting down I thought I saw something run past the table quickly, but thought it may have been the lighting. Then a few moments later saw a mouse run all the way across the open floor and then beneath one of the booths. Our waiter seemed unfazed. We pointed it out to a woman who I believe was the manager, who also saw it scurry past our feet. The manager was very kind and apologized profusely. She canceled our order so we could leave and said would call an exterminator. I hope the restaurant takes care of this asap, because we loved this place but do not feel comfortable returning at present.

Overall an amazing experience - food was great, and our server was wonderful. Loved the ambiance and decor. We could hear the music, but also hear each other talk. It had lower lighting, but we could still see everything perfectly well.
Only complaint was that the chairs were a tad low for the table height -- though I'm only just 5'2" so maybe its cause I'm short.

Our experience at RUKA was phenomenal. We didn’t have a reservation so we waited for an open space at the bar. They have a very good system to accommodate people at the bar to prevent people jumping ahead. We stated with some drinks - great pisco sour and also the Aji Alegre (I ordered it with pisco instead of tequila). Sushi was excellent. Very flavorful and fresh. They are able to combine the Peruvian - Nikkei fusion perfectly. We also had a White Black Thunder for dessert: highly recommended! Service is top notch, Sarah from the bar was super nice and efficient (despite of being super busy). Overall, excellent experience.

The food was extremely over priced for small portions. I understand you pay a premium price for Boston, but the service nor food quality made it worth the price. The quality of the "wagyu" was horrible (it definitely was not A5) and everything else tasted equally bad. The server was not knowledgeable about any items and every time I asked about an item, he kept saying "this is a new menu item". Terrible experience, I would not come again.

We ate here on a Saturday night in the summer and the staff was awesome and attentive! The ambiance is soothing and fun for a well done mix of Asian cuisine. Makimono, wok, hot, and cold dishes were all incredibly well flavored and each a work of art! The drinks were unique, fun, and energetic. We will have to go back soon to try more menu items! I would definitely recommend a stop in just to sit at the bar!

Terrible service, terrible food. Charged $18 for chicken with no veggies, no rice, nothing. Just 8 pieces of chicken… Sat here for over an hour and the waitress only refilled our water when we asked for the check. Then when we got the check, they wouldn’t separate the bill between our group of friends so one person had to pay for all the food. If they put half the amount of effort into the food and service that they did into the vibe/aesthetic of the place, it would be half decent.

Excellent fusion dishes, unique cocktails, underwhelming sushi, slow service.

The chilled sesame noodles and wafu garlic steak were exceptional - unique, strong flavors across the board. The both the crab and the and yuzu lobster makimoto were underwhelming, especially for the price. The crab was the only present flavor, and the lobster was completely overwhelmed by the other flavors. Go elsewhere if you’re looking for high-end sushi. Cocktails were excellent - more unique flavor profiles than most area cocktail bars.

My husband and I came to Ruka for our anniversary. Bryce was our server and was incredibly attentive and made sure the experience was catered toward the individual guest(s). When I say eating here is truly an experience, I am not kidding. The food is unforgettable; less than 24 hours later, my husband was trying to figure out how to recreate it. I don’t think words can truly capture how amazing Ruka is. I have (aggressively) encouraged everyone in my life to visit Ruka as soon as possible.

The food was okay, around $19-26 each tapas style. We got 4 dishes for 2 people and it was filling, but the pork yakisoba was way too greasy for our liking. The ruka spicy tuna was very plain as well. Unfortunately, the service for us and the table next to us was really slow. We sat for 12 minutes at least before we were greeted by our waitress, and after we got our menu orders in, they didn’t serve our first appetizer until ~20 minutes after, which isn’t bad but still longer than expected. When we finished our food, our waitress was nowhere to be found for ~10-15 minutes. When we found her, we told her we were ready for the check (and she said she’d grab it for us really quickly). She didn’t come back with the check until another 10-12 minutes later. We ended up spending 2 hours at the restaurant for 2 people, which was not what we were expecting. The table next to us even got a partial refund for how slow their service was and an apology from the manager. Overall an unpleasant experience, wouldn’t come again.

This is a great Peruvian-Japanese fusion place with a really nice vibrant and energetic ambience. Small-well portion sizes and all the dishes we tried were very well done. Very well seasoned dishes along with their spicy sauces by the side. The spicy tofu, wasabi stuffed tuna were stand out dishes of the day. Lot to choose from in the menu.

really nice server, didn’t catch his name, but he was very friendly and tried his best despite being new. drinks are very very good! got the afternoon in minato delicious, and the marmoset, both very very good fruit drinks. got the calamari, very lemony and the tako meshi, grilled octopus was yummy! i had to wait a bit for the tako meshi though, idk why, but it took a bit to get to my table. it’s small plates, they said tapas-like, so maybe they stagger the dishes, but it definitely took longer than usual to get it.

I’m usually skeptical about fusion cuisine, but RUKA nails it. Great ceviche, garlic steak etc.

The staff is friendly and knows their stuff, giving great recommendations. The atmosphere is stylish yet comfortable, works for any occasion. Highly recommend!

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. We mentioned in our reservation notes that we only ate halal and our waitress double checked everything to make sure we weren’t served pork, alcohol, etc. Service was a bit slow, but that didn’t deter us from having a great dinner. Would recommend!

We ordered 4 items, the fried chicken, a sushi dish, the pork noodles, and octopus fried rice, because we were told the portions are smaller. Everything except the sushi was very very salty, to the point I didn’t want to finish it. Cost around $100 for 2 people, 4 dishes (smaller than regular portions, this was the amount recommended to order by the waitress). Staff were very friendly and it was nice inside, but food was not great.

The food was excellent, our server was very friendly and capable, and when we got there at 7:30 the vibe in the room was fine. As the evening wore on and the loud booming music got more and more invasive we reached the point where we couldn’t hear each other speaking and we had headaches. We asked our server if the music could be lowered, and she said she would try, but nothing happened. It was literally torture. We can’t think of returning.

Food: Well portions and great flavor combinations. My favorite was the Japanese fried chicken, just enough crispiness and flavor where it was sweet tangy added with the spicy mayo sauce on the side was just perfect. Each of the sushi presented its own combination, where texture and flavor sat really nice. Oh though some weren’t quite my favorite palette, I can appreciate the thought behind trying to fuse something that’s more original. The yuzo lobster had a citrus taste to it which can’t throw off a bit of the lobster since it’s rather aquatic, but it’s interesting. The Hawaiian roll comes with a premium soy sauce, which you can’t tell the difference between regular, but it adds a perfect touch to what’s sweet and then add a pinch of salt

Service: We sat at the bar and the service was great, they all made sure we had water filled. They made sure that we had everything we needed for our food. It’s rather calm service

Ambiance: It’s a great place to have a birthday or hang out during the night. They don’t have any TVs so you can’t really watch the game but you can appreciate the decorum that’s going on around this Asian fusion restaurant. It’s rather spacious and there’s definitely plenty of seats to dine in when its not busy

Location accommodation: right near Boston commons, it’s rather walkable near other restaurants, restaurants and businesses. On the outside it’s really pretty but walking around certain parts. The streets can be a little tough as the roads weren’t build for big vehicles around, but people still try to squeeze in

Overall an incredible fusion of flavors and presentation. A great trendy spot with a fun menu to explore!

We started with the wagyu roll, which we weren’t expecting to be torched right at the table! Pretty cool and the two tables next to us ordered it as well. The pork yakisoba was out of this WORLD delicious. Highly recommend! And lastly, I could drink the sauce from the garlic steak dish.

We finished the meal with the taiyaki dessert, which had the perfect little bit of everything you could want to mix and create.

Service throughout was prompt and friendly. They were able to accommodate seating us earlier than our reservation time, our server was attentive and the food came out quick.

Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

It's delicious, but it's $19 and you could probably get slightly less good spicy tuna for a lot less elsewhere). As to cocktails, hard to go wrong.

This isn't a review of the food because we unfortunately weren't able to eat a thing. This review only covers the establishment's customer service (or lack thereof in this case). We arrived for our 9 o'clock reservation for two to find that our reservation had been canceled. Our first encounter was with a woman we later came to recognize as a member of RUKA's waitstaff. She stood at the hostess stand. I told her we had arrived for our reservation. She looked at me confused and mildly annoyed, and without saying a thing walked off. A few seconds later, the hostess arrives back to the stand and greets us with a smile. I again said that we'd arrived for our reservation, as the woman passed the hostess but did not tell the hostess what I'd just told her. The hostess said she couldn't find our reservation and checked their system. She informed me our reservation had been canceled. I was obviously a bit baffled. She asked me if I remembered canceling the reservation (obviously I wouldn't be standing there if I had), and my answer was "no", I'd canceled our 10p reservation when the 9p had become available. Her response was that it'd been canceled. Fine - things happen. Then she paused, waiting for us to leave. There was no courtesy extended. No "I'm sorry that happened." No "Let me see what we can do." Just looked at me blankly, seemingly bothered that we were still standing there. I asked if we'd still be able to eat there. She said definitely not at a table but perhaps at the bar. No offer to allow us to wait for a table to open. The hostess then asks the same woman mentioned earlier, that doesn't speak a word to us like "hello", to show us the "sushi bar". There are two seats available. We sit there, and another waitress immediately offers us water. Great - finally something positive, but this is where it ends. There are 7 staff behind the bar. Yes, I counted. I only saw one helping a customer close a tab. The rest are talking or cleaning. Twelve minutes of sitting at the bar and not one person even spoke to us, nonetheless asked us if we'd like to order. That's when a young couple arrives to the bar and sits down 4 seats to our left. They are immediately handed menus. Not even a minute later, they were asked if they'd like to order. That's when we left. I refuse to support establishments with abysmal customer service. You can have the most amazing cuisine in the world, but if your customer service doesn't stack up, none of that even matters. My two cents for the owner: 1) hire a staff that cares about their job and welcomes your guests and 2) train your staff how you want them to handle difficult situations. Invest more time and effort here, and you'll see a big impact. You'll never get my money, but perhaps you can save yourself from other angered customers blasting you on the internet for your horrendous hospitality. Atmosphere is cold at best.

Food was ok. The old fashioned came in with a lot of ice which watered down the drink. Asked to remake it with correct big ice cube. Instead of remaking, just poured the old watered down drink into a new glass. Asked again to remake it. Then the hostess created a spectacle, bringing the bartender to remake it in front of us. And making us watch it while we were already eating. Would make us stop eating and pay attention to the drink prep. Also none of the dirty dishes were removed from the table, starting from the first course of sushi.

I recently dined at Ruka during my stay at The Godfrey and had a wonderful experience - with one notable exception. The food was absolutely delicious, and the sushi was particularly impressive. The flavors were fresh and expertly balanced, and I was thoroughly enjoying my meal... until I bit into a lobster shell in my yuzu lobster sushi roll.

While I understand that mistakes can happen, I was surprised and disappointed to find a shell in my roll. It's not like I was eating a whole lobster, where one might expect to encounter a shell or two - this was a sushi roll, and I didn't expect to have to inspect each piece for shells before eating.

Despite this issue, I would still recommend Ruka for the quality of their food and the attentive service. However, I hope that the kitchen will take extra care in the future to ensure that all ingredients are properly prepared and free of unexpected surprises.

Rating would have been 5/5 if not for the shell incident!

I had a really bad experience with this site. Just yesterday I called to make a reservation for 10 pm. and they accepted it because the kitchen is supposed to close at 10:30. They sat me at the table at 10 and 10 pm, no waiter attended to us, they didn't even give us water, we called to be attended to and they didn't pay attention to us. Finally at 10:25 a waitress approached and gave us water and told us if we wanted drinks after 15 minutes of sitting at the table and also that the kitchen was closed. It was my anniversary celebration with my wife and everything was ruined. since we were just going to have dinner and have a few drinks. We told the server that the manager would call us and the manager never showed up. We ended up leaving the table and went home with nothing. Totally disappointing. We don't understand why they accepted our reservation and gave us the menu to order food and they never attended to us. totally fatal.

We were in downtown crossing walking around and wandered into Ruka. It was a unique combination of flavors inspired by Peruvian and Chinese dish and Japanese cuisine. I really wanted to love this place. I like the fusion idea. The flavors were all there but the dishes just don't make sense as small plates. We had the Bobo chicken and it was delicious but it was actually a pretty large portion for a small plate and really needs a grain to go with it to make it feel complete. We also got a couple of the makimoto sushi rolls and they were both great. Everything's a little bit heavy on the mayo though. They need to lighten up some of the dishes. We also ordered a bok choy dish and it came a solid 20 minutes after anything else. The best case would be if they married the bok choy with the chicken dish and served it with rice. That would be a fantastic entree. I wish they had a mix of entrees and small plate options. The service was mediocre. Plates came out chaotically and our server didn't pay very much attention to our needs. They did have a few non-alcoholic drink options which were fun and had great presentation. I always appreciate having that option.

They will add 3% kitchen appreciation fee to your final bill. That’s insane, what you have paid should already cover that fee, otherwise how the food was cooked? I literally don’t know start from when, mandatory “tips” became a trend in the states, at least not when I was there couple years ago.This doesn’t reflect well. In anyway, if they rob you 3%, you can always deduct that from the tips you were planning to give. Please do not support these non-sense mandatory fees.

DON’T GO! This place charged me 13 bucks more after I paid a 18% tip. I need to go through bank dispute to get that money back. The service is just a little bit more than nothing-taking your order, getting your food to the table, and a “how’s everything going?” When your mouth is stuffed with food. HONESTY IS EVERYTHING AND THIS RESTAURANT IS CHARGING MORE THAN WHAT YOU WROTE ON THE CHECK! AWFUL!

I liked the place the first couple of times. However , whoever runs the front of the house ruined it for me last night. I called the place several times to tell I was stuck in traffic and were running g late. The answering service kept saying they were busy and if I wanted to leave a message and a receive a call back I should press a number. I did four times. Only to be disconnected. By the time I got to the restaurant I was told the table was given to someone else. The hostess kept talking on the phone and had an aura of “I’m too busy to deal with you, customers, let me finish my call and check my social media first”. How disappointing.

WOW! The first thing I noticed when walking in was how incredible the place looked!! It’s definitely a restaurant that you can bring people to. Our server was wonderful, and the food came out in a good time. The food itself was INCREDIBLE, every dish we ordered tasted amazing - we were polishing off every last crumb. I cant wait to come here again!!

My husband & I have been a number of times on date nights or with groups, bringing our families when they travel to visit Boston. We love the ambience. Everything we’ve tried is delicious, and the cocktails are really creative (esp the tea service). My mom, who is fairly seafood-averse, enjoyed this meal because of the variety of small plates.

Waiter was great, but service was a bit spotty. Drinks were all solid, especially the ganshi 75, in bloom, and grand Kai. Food wise def get the ribs, vat bottom girl, and pork Yaki soba. Sushi in general is good, a bit overpriced for what it is.
