It is pretty good used to be my favorite place to go but quality has seemed to kinda go down a bit and they don’t have enough workers so everything takes a while. They seem to be more focused on Togo orders than the people eating there. Overall though a good place and pretty good sushi but there is definitely better in town.

The food is great. The service is good, average. Expect a wait. They will not take reservations unless you have a larger group. So those who choose to have a more intimate gathering should expect a wait or choose somewhere else to eat. Smaller groups will have to wait on tables as larger groups with reservations are given priority, and smaller groups are not given the opportunity to make a reservation. However, the food and service are good if you don't mind waiting and have the time to wait.

I got here first. As a dasher I arrived calm and took a seat in what was not really a waiting area but was not on my phone talking over the entire restaurant or staring rudely at the staff.... so why am I now seeing that the 2 that the did aforementioned received their food for their customers first and you were really going to not prep mine at all cause there were many to bag?
Excuse me but does that not mean the customer paid more and you legit are putting them last?
Rude and not professional at all.
Then she snapped at me for grabbing extra chopsticks which i grab cause I know I usually have leftovers and using the same ones twice is 😝 gross.

Food was fantastic. We tried a little bit of everything and were overall extremely pleased with the taste and freshness of the food. We came in later on a Monday night and the wait staff seemed pretty apathetic, but other than that it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant had a nice quiet feel. Full service bar with a lounge with comfy seating and tables for food and drinks. They also had an automated server that had a digitally animated cat head and several serving trays that brought the food out to the tables and even sang happy birthday for a celebrating guest while delivering a complimentary slice of desert. Never seen that before!

Food was good, the sushi was filling for sure. The takoyaki tho wasn’t as good as I was hoping. It was runny and kinda bland. I did enjoy the nigiri and dragon roll tho! The bulgogi bento honestly looked basic and bland… my friend didn’t finish it. Kinda over killed it with so much rice. The atmosphere was nice and a fun place to go with friends.

Ive been many times and it pains me to say out last experience was enough to not come back anymore. It WAS our favorite place so we usually order a bit and we've usually spent anywhere from $50-$70 for 2 people. We have spent birthdays here and even brought my parents. I dont know what happened this most recent time but there was one server. I work customer service so I'm always patient and kind. The place was relatively slow and I watched a couple come in wait 10+ minutes without being acknowledged before they left. There was one door dash order and they were taken care of immediately. The people behind us seemed frustrated but still seemed kind even though I over heard them saying they were already there for an hour. My problem isn't with the service but the price and quality of the food in less than a year span. They have happy hour which used to include takoyaki for $5-$6 even though we ordered two other happy hour items we weren't told it was taken off. I didn't bring this up because they don't make the prices but omg we spent like $17 on 8 pcs (2 orders of takoyaki)! The octopus was also chewy so that was disappointing cause that hasn't happened before but I've had octopus many times and it happens unfortunately. My last straw was I've had a hankering for spiny tuna for quite a while. Usually sushi is served shortly after or even before with a soy sauce tray ginger and Wasabi. While I waited to even ask for it I used the soy sauce bottle to pour over the sushi which was sticky and crusty... My Tuna was lacking spice and had a bit of an after taste. After I finally got the ginger/Wasabi no soy sauce tray while most of our meal was over I tried it with ginger and decided this is one of the times I would say something as I ate 3/8 pcs of the Tuna and it just didn't taste right. The sever that was alone and appreciative of our patience the entire time got snippy with me because "it was already eaten" I told her I was sorry I usually dont say anything but it just doesn't taste right. When she went to talk to the chef to see anything could be done I looked at my husband and told him I didn't even eat half and was trying to give it a chance but how else was I supposed to know it didn't taste good if I didn't try it lol? We received the bill and it was $90 for maybe 6 rolls the takoyaki and soft drinks. I can't believe we spent 2 hours and spent $100 feeling disappointed. I really don't fault the server because she was trying her best and the other server that usually is there with short brown hair is amazing. We're just going to have to find another place after this it's not worth giving it another chance.

Stopped in to pick up an online order around 315pm on Fri Dec 27. 2 tables in the restaurant, one server, one chef. I knew i would have to wait a few minutes for my order. Chef finished the tables order for one table and rang the bell for the server. She was at a back table on her phone. Maybe didn't hear bell. Then he rang it 2 more times and server was oblivious. Another worker took the food to the table. As im waiting I see the chef put a to go order up and a ticket. I wait while the server is off doing side work and not even paying attention to the guests or orders. I finally got up and asked if that was mine. Chef said yes. Then server said she would get it ready in a min. I left. I've dine 15 years in the service industry and that's about the most sub par service you can get. Guests first always! Red head server with no clue.

Short version: first time trying Ninza and won’t be trying again. There are other decent sushi restaurants around town. Let’s start with the Edamame … tough (undercooked) and hard to eat. Fired Dragon Roll … no spicy to the spicy tuna, the baked red snapper tasted fishy, and no cream cheese flavor. The fried rice was … well, it was “fried rice”, like when you throw cooked rice in a wok with a little soy sauce and warm it up for a few minutes… no egg, no vegetables, no flavor. I’ve had a lot of fried rice in my time … this is in the bottom 10%. Too many other decent places to spend your money.

I usually don’t like leaving Karen reviews but I had to this time. This is the second time this place gives me terrible service.
I called to place an order & was told to hold & waited 10 minutes & got hung up on, okay no big deal. I call back & immediately get my order placed. Make it make sense? Guy told me it would take 5 minutes to have my order ready. Which seemed crazy fast but I only ordered 2 simple rolls.
I get there at it was not too busy, there was 3 servers & the first guy was like “I just need to bag your stuff.” Okay. 10 minutes go by and nothing? I see him running his tables which is fine I have patience no big deal. Don’t want to be rude. Second server comes by and ask if I have been helped I told her the situation very nicely & she said no problem. I’ll be right back. 10 minutes go by and nothing. Third & different server comes by and she asks if I have been helped. I told her the situation and she immediately went to go grab my order. Why couldn’t the first two servers grab my order? And 20 minutes going by?
To Gos should never take this long. I am a very cool and calm person but this took way too long. I probably could have sat down and eaten faster than it took for them to just grab my order lol it was 1 box.
This is the second time this happens. I let it slide the first time because their sushi is actually good. But their servers need to move with urgency & actually care even just a little bit, that they have people waiting on them.
This place is great and could be better if management was actually on top of their servers. They get one last chance from me ONLY because their sushi is delicious because there are too many sushi places in town to be dealing with terrible service.

Let's start with the pros:
Ninza, specifically the east location, has amazing food. The ninza cakes are fantastic, the bento box is delicious, and the sushi rolls are expertly done. I will rave about Ninza all day.
Now for the cons:
Never go here if you're in a hurry. I don't know if they're understaffed, don't train their servers well, or just hire bad servers, but it's been a long time since I've been here and had good service. It takes forever to get seated, food is slow to come out (and half the time either the appetizer comes out with the entrees or the entrees don't come out together), and we've started asking for the check when we get our food, because it will inevitably take 20 minutes otherwise. There's some obvious sequencing issues happening in the serving process: some tables get care way more quickly and then get all but abandoned while there's a struggle to catch up the rest of the tables. Also, apologies go a LONG way when people have been waiting longer than 10 minutes.
Overall, I love Ninza. Their food is amazing. I hope they can solve the server issue, because if it continues, it will run a great Wichita local restaurant into the ground. I will continue going, but it's never going to be the place I go when I need to make the movie time, because I know for a fact I will undoubtedly be late.

I'm not sure exactly where to start so I guess I'll start with my phone call to the restaurant. I called about 4:30 pm and asked if I could make a reservation for 2 but they said reservations are only for a party of 5+, which I didn't have a problem with and showed up a couple hours later. As I entered they weren't busy but my boyfriend and I still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated?! Then as we were seated the waitress walked away without taking our drink order, instead we had to wait another 15-20 minutes before getting our order placed while watching other guests that were seated after us get served. When receiving our order our cakes we ordered were over cooked/ slightly burnt, our fried rice was dry, greasy, and had no flavor, about the only thing from our whole experience tonight that was good was the sushi, drinks, and the chicken from the rice. The staff was so unorganized/unprofessional and I honestly would not ever come back to spend a dime.

While the food was truly excellent, the service was the worst I've experienced in recent history. During our 40 minute wait for food, there was never an attempt to refill drinks, there was no checking in.
Tables that were seated after us received their food before us. The server was asked for a fork, which was never brought, as well as cheater chopsticks, which were also never brought.
We attempted to flag our server down multiple times and we're ignored, despite being one of three TOTAL tables in the restaurant. When the majority of our party (my wife and two children) left, I continued to try and flag the server down to pay, and still couldn't.
When she finally realized we existed, we asked for three boxes and the check. She brought the check and threw it on the table with an obvious attitude, and only brought two boxes. I asked for a third and she sighed in exasperation, returning shortly with a 3rd box.
All in all, the service was bad enough that despite the excellent food, I will not return, and I will encourage others to drive a bit further down the road to Wasabi.

I will never spend another dime in this establishment I ordered takeout and when I spoke with the employee on the phone I ordered The Hibachi chicken and the crunch Rose roll now I asked if the crunch Rose roll was fried completely because it said in tempura and I was told yes I also asked if I could have extra sauce that the chicken and vegetables were cooked in I was also told YES! When I got my food the Crunch Rose Roll was not completely fried as the employee told me and they do not cook there chicken in any sauce. I paid almost $50 for this meal. If employees are going to answer the phone please atleast know the menu. When I spoke with the manager she was very rude.

Food is good but 1 star service and 2 for atmosphere because atmosphere is how you feel inside said establishment, this review is for staff not being able to check orders correctly, mistakes are normal and usually not something to leave a review on but when the staff argue with a customer about the number of sauces ordered and my receipt proves not only that I’m right, but that it wasn’t checked, a bad service review is warranted. If you order here double check you got what you ordered because they will not and then will argue instead of just checking and getting you out the door. This situation has happened on multiple occasions even after leaving notes in the order and only then do I leave this review.

After ordered the delivery and the time was over two hours. I immediately cancelled (30 seconds tops). Then it said the restaurant was making my food in an e-mail three minutes later. The charge email was sent within three minutes of my order. Waited 3.5 hours and asked where my food was from Uber. Uber said that I wasn’t getting food, just a charge.
I saved the email that stated my food had been started. So let me still eat something if I’m locked into it. But when they messaged, they only said that Ninza accepted my order, not that I had any chance at food. Uber said that it would be fair to Ninza. $62.89 for pushing a button?
Never got my food. No one answered at Ninza when I called to check on it.. Got charged. Both this place and Uber took no blame. Had to order pizza since Uber would not let me reverse a cancel. Two hours to get to me but you are committing to make it so I have to pay you?

Craving sushi? This hit the spot while staying within the new standard of $10-$20 per plate. The wait staff was very friendly and polite -even though I kept asking them questions about the food. The biggest downside is this restaurant uses imitation crab in *most* of their dishes. It's disappointing but that's part of living in the center of the Midwest.

The food was wonderful — the service was not. The waitress did not smile once, barely even looked us in the eye. Apparently we were here right at shift change (we arrived at 3:30 PM — shift change was at 4. The waitress made sure to let us know about that, so she brought us our check immediately after we got our food and had us pay right then, because “we have to count the drawers right at 4”). We seemed to be a burden. After we ordered, the waitress slammed our menus down at the bar (unsure if this was intentional) before putting our orders in. The food came out very fast and was absolutely delicious — no complaints there. However, the experience was soured by the horrible service. Keep in mind — we were the ONLY table in the restaurant. I don’t like being this kind of person, but this was genuinely the worst service I’ve ever gotten at a restaurant.

Usually ninza's is fantastic, the only reason they get 4 our of 5 stars is the imbalance during busier hours. I've had some food cold or just generally subpar certains times of the week. We had some neoguri that had some pretty old avocado in it or some items that had been made before the rest but delivered at the same time meaning it was much colder. However, as long as you go during calmer hours it's almost ALWAYS fantastic. Great customer service and delicious food I love visiting for special events. Definitely worth checking out as long as you go during calm hours.

First thing first, my partner and I stood at the front door for 9 minutes with 4 other people, 2 other parties before being sat. In that time, and even after being sat, nobody, not once greeted us. Said "hello" or "welcome in".. nothing. Even with the manager sitting 10 feet away having a meeting with a new hire. Whom of which was interrupted by her staff saying the restaurant was busy, implying they needed her help. She ignored their request and continued the meeting for a couple more minutes. After being sat it took 10 minutes to put our drink order in and another 8 to receive the drinks (menus which were not properly cleaned). So, already a terrible experience... Our appetizer, Gyoza, was room temperature once it came out. One of the rolls we ordered tasted off and was removed from the bill. The sauces used were strong and overpowered the sushi. The bar drinks were strong, and the Pink Lotus specifically tasted like straight cheap vodka. Overall I highly recommend Wasabi East or Sushiya. Those two, hands down offer the best and freshest tasting sushi in town.

Ninza is our new fav. We usually go to wasabi or sapporo but we thought it would be fun to try this place, and now we will honestly probably never go back to the other places. At Ninza the food comes out so much faster and its always so perfect. The times we have been, there hasn't been a wait at all because they have a large amount of seating. So that's a huge plus. And the servers are always so nice and check on us multiple times!

My first experience here last year wasn’t good, food was not tasty, left disappointed and promised to never return. Decided to give another try since husband wanted to. Second round the sushi was mediocre in taste. Sushi had undesirable amount of cheap filler (imitation crab mix) with the tiniest/thinnest slivers of actual fish. My sons bulgogi was made with very cheap cut of beef (traditional bulgogi is made with ribeye) had very large chunks of fat similar to pork belly (not marbled beef). Fat was over half of the dish. We were grossed out. Informed the waitress but she failed to do anything to make it right and pretty much didn’t care. Ninza definitely tries to cut corners to be as cheap as possible and it shows in the quality of their food. Will not be returning for sure. The only thing they have going for them is their robot machines but this does not make up for their terrible food and service. Will go to Sapporo next time.

They also had an automated server that had a digitally animated cat head and several serving trays that brought the food out to the tables and even sang happy birthday for a celebrating guest while delivering a complimentary slice of desert. Never seen that before!

If you are expecting to have the cat waiter all to yourself, you would be disappointed. But I was not. It was fun to see it and you could even pet it. The food was VERY good!! The waiters were very nice and did all the could to give you the best experience.😄👍👍

Quite literally the worst sushi dining experience of my life, I ordered the “Korean spicy ramen” not spicy at all tasted like the shin packaged ramen not to mention the chicken wasn’t seasoned at all. My girlfriend ordered the crunch rose roll with one request and that was to sub the shrimp for tuna they then proceeded to load it with more tuna than all the other ingredients combined. Server was a nice guy but the blonde lady who I presume was the manager was making our date very uncomfortable by hovering and constantly watching as we ate overall 2/10 experience I'm never going back.

Went for my daughters birthday...they gave free dessert and excellent service...fried sushi was amazing...we also had stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer...

The food is very delicious sometimes the chicken is just overcooked.
If you get takeout double check your order the food is very very delicious but yet I'm always missing something!

This place is truly falling downhill, I went to eat with my boyfriend and it was a disaster. We used to be regulars here, not anymore unfortunately. First the appetizer came out, it was a vegetable tempura. The sweet potato tempura was still raw, and hard it wasn’t cooked all the way through. You know that when you can’t even poke your chopsticks in. The ginger is old, and does not taste fresh. It’s dried out and has black spots on it. Presentation of the sushi is disappointing as well, our server was good and attentive. It felt that the sushi is just slapped onto the plate. Unfortunately we will be finding a new place that is worth the money.

Worst experience of my life. Had tables that were there after us served before us, watched our food set up at the sushi bar for 30 minutes so it was room temperature by the time we reminded the server that we were still not served. When we told the manager she seem un-empathetic and made excuses. We really tried not to complain, but after they never even made one of our rolls and then tried to charge us for it we were upset. We even reminded the server that we had not gotten our roll and waited an additional 25 minutes. By that time we said forget the roll just bring us our check, our server brought us the check with in a minute. It was probably the fastest service we have received this evening. I am so disappointed in the workers and management.

I was not impressed. There were very few other customers in the restaurant. Most tables were empty. Maybe they need a visit from Gordon Ramsey.

Always a great place to grab a quick bite, they have great deals during their daily happy hour, and I want to give a shout out to Nyre the server there, she gives the best customer service and care anywhere I've seen in the food hospitality industry

Great service and food. Great lunch and happy hour specials.
We were thinking that our bill would have been higher but was cheaper than expected, so that was even better.
Hibachi Chicken and garlic fried rice were really good.
We will go back.

12/30/22 Delicious and inviting sushi restaurant on a busy street yet worth visiting once in a while. Best to visit during non-rush hours because it appears to be short-staffed. There was only 2 servers on site that evening observed. Our server had to be flagged down a few times for water refill but she was very polite. She checked on us only once.
Price value: Appetizers, sides, and hibachi are averagely priced. Pricey for sashimi, noodles, and other categories.
Ambiance: Inviting with a lounge area by the bar, great decor of Japanese artwork on the walls, warm lighting, with booths on the wall perimeter. Clean.
Food: Everything ordered was seasoned perfectly (if applicable), cooked well, and presented beautifully.
1. Takoyaki: 4/5 Crispy exterior and umami filling w/eel sauce. Could use a bit for seasoning on the filling but very good.
2. Calamari Rings w/yum yum sauce & sweet soy vinaigrette dip: 4/5 Crispy and moist, perfectly fried.
3. Deluxe Sashimi Platter 5/5 (chef's choice): Very nicely sliced, perfectly portioned on kale & spiral carrots in a sweet soy vinaigrette. Fresh w/O fish aroma!
4. Crispy Salmon Skin Roll: 4/5 Almost very crispy salmon skin, rolled well and good size with eel sauce glaze (just enough). Skin could use more seasoning but not bad.
5. Japanese Tonkatsu Ramen: 3/5 Noodles El dented and bouncy, mild on the miso, not a very rich broth. Good on taste but could use more toppings and seasoning.
6. Spicy Tuna Roll: 3/5 because it wasn't spicy at all.
7. Spicy Korean Ramen: 1/5 Not great not nor chef created. Totally from the package. Exactly Nongshim brand, black version.
8. Korean beef bulgogi bento (California Roll 4pc, mixed salad, rice, 1 shumai, 1 potstickers, beef bulgogi): 5/5 The beef bulgogi was nicely charred and not overpowering with the seasoning, rice was well cooked, California was good, the salad was very tasty. Not bad at all.
9. Cosmo: 5/5 Refreshing!

I have been to this Ninza a few times and the food and service has always been great. The Monkey Brains (stuffed mushrooms) are one of my favorite items. The atmosphere is warm and calm. I will definitely go back.

Food is always good. They were busy tonight between dining in, take out, and delivery they kept things moving. One of the boys favorite places to go eat.

Horribly overpriced for tiny servings. Got the poke salad, which was basically $16 for a side salad. You could easily spend $100 as a couple and still walk away hungry. Will never go back.

Food is great with good sized portions, only thing that lost them a star is the cali rolls use crab salad instead of crab sticks

Quick had the order ready to go directly out the door and had a delivery pick up location as well inside.

Very cool place. My daughter had a sushi platter and I had the Vietnamese ramen. Very impressed with their Japanese Whiskey list, never tried it before and found it very smooth.
