Thank you family and friends for your continued attention and love. We are offering Japanese Ramen and Sushi at here.
Due to labor shortage, we acquired a standing Kiosk to help us taking orders.
We also have QR code available on the table for Dine In orders.
We strongly recommend you using these ordering methods. It will help us a lot. But if you need any help of making an order, we are always here for you :)
Discovered this great little restaurant, near the college, in Emporia. In our group, others ordered a couple of different noodle dishes and were very pleased, I opted for 3 rolls of sushi. The rolls were very well prepared, large pieces, excellent taste. The presentation was well done.
The service was fast, very pleasant staff, reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back.

We ordered the “yummy king tuna roll”, maki roll, tonkotsu ramen, and shoyu ramen. The food was absolutely delicious, great sushi, and some of the best ramen I’ve ever had!!! The presentation was immaculate and matched the great flavors. The service was speedy and they were incredibly nice. Ordering and paying off your phone was easy and quick as well. Some of the best food in Emporia and one of the best Ramen restaurants period.

I had such a wonderful time here went for a birthday celebration and ordered lots of food and drinks! The owners brought out like 3 appetizers for free and gave us a fancy fruit dessert too at the end. Everything was so good! I honestly can't rave about this place enough! The owner went to Japan for a year to learn how to make Ramen and it really shows!

First time eating at Hagaya and loved it! The interior is beautiful. There are tables and booths. The booths give you a private feel which I really liked. Great decor with beautiful trees and unique woodwork. I only gave 4 for service just simply because you don't have a waitress but rather order on a kiosk or by scanning a QR code on your table. It was efficient and easy to use but you don't really have anyone to answer questions you might have.
The food: had fried dumplings with chili sauce - delicious and spicy. The we had the Tiger Roll and the Alaska Roll. The Tiger Roll has house made eel sauce that was very tasty. All the ingredients tasted fresh and light. We also had a pork Ramen bowl. All their Ramen bowls have pork fyi.
Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

I went with a couple of my friends and we dined in here just tonight. We're college students and typically don't make enough to tip places often. Regardless of that, some guy harassed my friend about not tipping, circled the amount, and her food was brought out later than myself and my other friend. It was to the point that one of my friends had to ask to have my friend's food brought out. The other two ladies that worked there were pleasant and kind, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be dining here again. As much as it was nice to experience, that guy left my friend in tears. Be warned in advance before coming here.

Where do I start.. placed an order on a kiosk!!! Upwards of $50 for just two people. Then after I placed my order they confronted me for not leaving a tip like seriously not even a greet or even someone to sit you at a table and they expect you to pay overpriced food and leave a tip for no service other than them cooking for you. I had cash to leave a tip but that left a bad taste in my mouth by the angry man who ended up approaching my girlfriend instead of me. Last time I would go here. Please give your business to someone else these people here are not good people. I have never experienced this kind of terrible behavior from a business owner.

So apparently, even though you seat yourself and order at a kiosk, you have to tip if you want your food in a reasonable amount of time. I had to wait 40 minute for my food, which was mediocre. Won't be coming here again.

Although you order from a kiosk, you're expected to tip if you dine in. It sounded like a minimum of *only* 40% tip is the minimum amount that will satisfy the staff and save you from a pantomime demonstration by the owner, table-side. He literally has a little routine he does where he circles the zero-amount tip on your receipt. Yeah. So, combined with the aggressive, pan-handling staff, the substandard cuisine just isnt worth the b.s. ... Skip it. It's a horrible experience. Ichiban is just across town and it's a far more pleasant place with better food. I bet they get way more tips than this miserable joint, too.

This is a counter serve restaurant, so there is no table service. I left a tip that reflected the quality of the service, and the chef came out of the kitchen to harass me about the tip and demand more money on top of the poor quality service and overpriced food. Then it took them over half an hour to get our food out. Again, there was no service, which is what a tip was for. The staff continued to harass us and demand money as we left. In short, the staff here is greedy and extremely rude. If you value your time and money, DO NOT go here!
Visited 9 months ago
I whole heartedly do NOT recommend this restaurant. As other reviewers say, you order at a kiosk and pay upfront. I input $0.00 as my tip as I *naturally* prefer to observe the service and then tip.
I have ate at this restaurant time and time again, trying to give the local business the benefit of the doubt but the owner of the restaurant harasses me and my family/friends about this every single time. He has come out to my car and knocked on my window DEMANDING to know why I did this, he argues, and his angry behavior is reflected in the food itself as it is not tasty.
The last time I went there, they practically threw the food on the table and didn’t glance at us once. And on top of that, I got mild food poisoning. AWFUL service. Never going back there again.
The food leaves much to be desired. What a disappointment. All I can say is that their decor is beautiful.

I placed an order at the kiosk. There is no waiters at this restaurant. As soon as I placed my order the kitchen worker came to the table and said hey do you want this to go you left no tip. At what restaurant do you tip before you receive your food. I was told this isn't mc Donald's we clean the tables and you must tip. Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. They lost my ticket of one person for 52 dollars and 2 other people that were with me for the way they talked to me. Unless you blindy tip for the possibility of good food and no servers I would stay away.

Service is horrible and unprofessional, they have a attitude. My friend and I had the intention of dining in there for the first time and right when you walk in you have to order on the kiosk, we ordered in but we put the no tip option at the moment. Because we WONT TIP until me know how the SERVICE IS. A dude came in the table and circled the no tip option and came with an attitude saying that they WONT give us service if we don't tip. Like we are DEFINITELY NOT tipping someone unprofessional with an attitude like that, we asked to talk with the manager about this behavior and she would NOT LET US SPEAK. We tried explaining her many times that we were going to tip in cash because we wanted to see how the service was going to be in the first place. But again they have attitude. This place is so unprofessional, wont ever step foot on this place ever again. This restaurant needs to learn that good service is IMPORTANT. We left and went to Ichiban, so MUCH BETTER and professional I RECOMMEND❤️

Very cute place. You place your order on a kiosk then have a seat. The kiosk asked if I wanted to add a tip and I clicked no. Then a guy that worked there came to our table and asked if we were dining in as he circled it on my receipt. I said yes. Then he proceeded to circle the zero tip. He said no tip but you dine in? I tip based on service, not when I pay upfront. So rude. I've never experienced that kind of unprofessionalism. The food wasn't even that good. I will never eat there again.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Hagaya, a Japanese sushi and ramen shop that left me deeply disappointed and disheartened. From the moment I stepped through the door, the atmosphere was clouded with an air of hostility that persisted throughout the entire meal.
The owners, whose names I won't dignify by mentioning, were shockingly rude and displayed a level of customer service that bordered on harassment. It's disheartening to recount my visit, but I feel compelled to share this cautionary tale.
The culinary experience began on a sour note with the owners displaying an appalling lack of courtesy. Instead of providing guidance on the menu or offering recommendations, they chose to berate patrons who sought clarification on certain dishes. This created an unwelcoming environment that overshadowed any anticipation I had for the meal.
As if the verbal abuse weren't enough, the actual food left much to be desired. The sushi was subpar, with a noticeable lack of freshness in the fish. The ramen, touted as a specialty, was a mere shadow of what one would expect from a reputable establishment. The flavors were bland, and the noodles were overcooked, resembling a lackluster attempt at authenticity.
What truly struck me was the owners' blatant disregard for basic decency. At multiple points during the meal, they made derogatory remarks about customers' appearances, creating an uncomfortable and hostile dining experience. This behavior is not only unprofessional but entirely unacceptable in any establishment that purports to be a place of hospitality.

My best friend took me out to lunch for my birthday and I chose this restaurant, what a great choice, exceptional would be the one word I would use to describe the food and ambiance.
You seat yourself, the menu is on the kiosk you order and pay from, very seamless and effortless.
The food (we mostly had sushi rolls) arrived very quickly and was beyond amazing, even after we left we both kept saying how good everything was. The owners were extremely polite and attentive, they even gave us a small cut up fresh fruit bowl that was a perfect ending to a wonderful lunch. Well deserved 5 star rating from me and I'm sure my friend will leave a 5 star review as well!

The food here is very good. And the decor and furniture is unique . They always have jazz going and it’s a cool atmosphere . However , the business does a lot of intimidating/ guilting people for not tipping . I had heard rumors before about it but has only been there a few times and never experienced any issue. However the last time I was there , the cook came up to me and asked why there was no tip when I and my Fiancée were dining it. This was before food was even served . After knowing that we did not tip, the cook treated us poorly the rest of the time. We even said thank you to which he gave an angry look and turned away. The food is very good though

We seated ourselves, ordered ourselves, paid ourselves, poured our water ourselves. We did not leave a tip on the initial order. First the male chef came out and loudly went over that we didn’t leave a tip. We said yes. He then repeatedly asked us if we were doing take out. Then he sent a female out to our table. We stated that we were not leaving a tip until we got service and our food. She told us the service was cooking our food and doing our dishes. That they ask way less than big cities for a tip. We are from Portland, and it is the same, without the harassment.
We said yes, we understand. Then my daughter finally told her we did another order and gave them their tip. Then our food got cooked and delivered. Only then. Never did they come back and ask us if the food was ok, or if we needed anything. The ramen was terrible. I could have gone home and cooked top ramen with corn, onion and a thin sliced pork chop for way less and it would have tasted much better. Never will we eat here again. Pricey, rude, egg shell on half an egg, fat grisly pork chop. No flavor beyond a fish paste? We are great tippers usually, but this was ridiculous. Birthday dinner fail!

The owner came up to us after we were done dining And requested to know why we did not tip. He did not give us a chance to answer and push us out of the door, then Then he stated this is a small business please take your money elsewhere. In my opinion there was no reason to tip I had to place my order, seat myself and grab a few things on my own. The person that brought the food to our table was the owners wife they were already getting all the money from check as is, they use to have wait staff and I knew them, there is a reason that can't keep wait staff. The food has also gone down him from when it first started.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and usually have very good food, the lady who comes and drops off the food is very polite as well. Tonight I did not have the same experience. I did not happen to leave a tip for my meal. Like I've seen on so many other reviews here, my friends and I were ridiculed for not leaving a tip, and forced to move from the booth because we had not left a tip. We waited and waited for our food and after over 40 minutes of waiting, and watching everyone who came into the restaurant after us get their food before us, we finally received our food. It was almost lukewarm as if it had been sitting there for at least 15 minutes. Usually the atmosphere is great, but this experience was not pleasant and I don't think I'll be back for a while.

I was aggressively told to leave by a male employee after he saw that I did not tip. There are no servers at this restaurant who wait on tables, so I did not see there as being anything to tip for. He asked us if there was anything wrong with the food, which we had not received. He rudely forced us out of our seats and made us sit along the bar. Several customers who ordered after us were served before us.
The women who bring the food out are courteous, and the food is delicious. But I will not be returning after such a horrible experience. Paying customers should receive the service they paid for.

Excellent ramen bar, offering a rather traditional Japanese experience, in Emporia; from the kiosk ordering to the water, utensils, and condiments on the tables.
The food was quick, fresh, and extremely delicious, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was just like every ramen bar I've ever been to in Japan.
I highly recommend the Miso ramen, extra spicy, with an extra soft boiled egg!
Overall a 100% win; will definitely be back again next time I'm in town.

I was harassed and asked to not dine-in just cause I didn't tip. I was said and I quote " we don't need trash customers like you" "stop talking I call the cops" " there's no difference between you and 1 penny giving customers" - all I said was I will tip you if I have to dine in and please don't be so aggressive.
No where on their menu does it say that tipping is mandatory for dinning in.

The food is great. Besides, a couple of times, my sushi would fall apart and go everywhere, and I'm having to scoop it up with my hands. My BIGGEST issue with this restaurant is the way they do service or lack thereof.
I have worked at Olive Garden & Red Lobster as a server. If you have been to these places or worked them yourself, then you understand how hard you work for your good, hard earned cash, which is made based on tips. At no time have I ever verbally attacked my guest just because they didn't tip me. These people who own this Ramen shop have.
Service is when you go up to your GUEST and take their order. You also bring them drinks with refills and ensure their meal is better than antiquate.
Other things you do as a server are guide your guests through the menu with your own personal recommendations. People go out to eat for the experience. Tips are based on such (this was our training at the corporate food chains).
At this restaurant, you order off your phone based on a QR code you scan. There is no to little social interaction with the individuals of the establishment, so there are definitely no recommendations on food.
(I wouldn't get the Miso Ramen)
You fill up your own water with greasy looking cups that have been sitting out all day long. Which is not my issue. I'm just being honest.
Lastly, the food came out, and the food is GREAT. I'm not a fan of the miso ramen, but everything else has been good.
Time to pay. Personally, I felt the lack of service means they don't expect tips. I pay for my meal and what I have. I did not tip because I didn't have a server. Not once was I checked on and asked how my food was during my meal or if they could get me anything else. I ordered, and they put what i ordered in front of me. So I paid for what I got. MY FOOD. At no time do I feel I should have to pay extra for things that should already be included in the price. The only time they came up to me was because I didn't tip for the food I ordered.
When does the quality of my food get based on how much extra I tip you? It absolutely should not.
The male marched up and asked if the food wasn't good and continued to aggressively ask why I did not tip.
Just to not cause an issue or a scene, I stayed quiet to not disturb the other guest in the restaurant and just stared at him is disbelief. I shouldn't have to explain why the service was not up to standard.
I have not been there since and will not go back. I'm sure they are doing just fine without my business, but I felt my experience explains a lot of others who feel the same when you have to self-serve at a restaurant.
Food is GREAT
The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL
Service needs lots of work instead of the self entitled mindset we are apparently accustomed to.
I have also noticed how the individuals like to come onto the reviews and try to articulate a "comeback" or "troll" by lashing out or trying to make them feel insignificant. It is quite unfortunate.
I hope for the best and wish they would change their standards of service.

The food is good, but like others have said I noticed the water cups leaving some kind of film on the top of my water. You order and pay from your phone, and the only interactions you have with employees are when the food is dropped off at your table. I have no problem with this, but when you don't have an actual waiter, who are you leaving a tip for? At my last visit where I did not tip, I was confronted about this by a man who works there that I believe was a manager or maybe the owner. He checked to make sure our food and everything was alright which it was, then he said "this is not fast food, this is a restaurant, you guys need to tip". This was a very uncomfortable and rude exchange. I understand that running a business is not cheap, but if all of the ordering and payment is handled without employee interaction who is there to tip? If you don't make enough money from just the sale of food, then raise the prices. Don't make rude remarks to paying customers because you made your menu prices too low to keep your business running.

We placed the water pitcher at the end of the table to be refilled and it was ignored until after we paid and were getting ready to leave. We used a card to pay and were going to leave a tip, however one of the employees got really snooty with us. After terrible service and rude employees we will not be back.

I come here at least once a week. It is a great spot to get a nice lunch in-between classes, especially with its proximity to campus. With the fast service I can easily be served and eat in less than 30 minutes. The staff knows their loyal customers, and always greets them when they come in. For new customers, they ensure that you feel welcome, and they are happy to answer any question.

Average sushi. I personally think the sushi is over priced for the quality of sushi you receive. I wish it would have been better, but it wasn't bad. I didn't really care for having to order on my phone and having to also pay on my phone. It felt very informal for a sit-down restaurant, like my service was just another order.

Amazing food , the decor can be described as incredible but until you visit you will be in awe. I can’t give it enough praise for the owners for this wonderful place ❤️👍👍. If you live here you’re blessed with this establishment and if your anywhere near drive the extra miles to enjoy.

We ordered the pork gyoza, yuzu ramen, spicy tuna roll and the tempura shrimp roll, and everything was absolutely amazing. I’d post pictures, but it didn’t last long enough for me to take any. I have eaten a lot of dumplings and these have to be my favorite, ever! No exaggeration, some of the best, most comforting food I’ve had in a long time. The inside of the store was beautiful, and the staff was very friendly. It’s so cool to have such a great taste of Japan here in Kansas. 11/10 would definitely recommend!

They are also famous for SUSHI. They have best sushi in the town. So nice decorations, clean and attractive way of welcoming customers. Anyone will be overwhelmed to go there. Specially in the whole restaurant there were many type of boxes that represented the Chinese culture and environment. I went there to buy the SUSHI and my family liked it very much. The service rating is higher than anyone.

To the person that said they “did something to the food” “got mad because no tip” and “our food was overpriced” get a life. That’s a lie and you know it lol. Stop spreading bad gas because you’re broke and are a stinky little men. The food there is priced well for how fast, tasty, and well put together it is. The staff there are ALWAYS pleasant and will only get upset if you leave without paying.

The person that cooks the food was very rude and disrespectful. Us as a young couple with a baby didn’t leave a tip because our food was already twice the price that we wanted and the guy was very rude because we didn’t tip which was disrespectful. Im sorry we didn’t tip but we only had enough for us to eat and enjoy a date together! Would not recommend going there again because my husband is sick after eating there so I am pretty sure they did something to our food because we didn’t tip

Slap 👋🏼 me silly and give me some ramen 🍜
Emporia is lucky 🍀 to have Hagaya ramen & sushi 🍣
The ramen is rich and delicious with tender noodles 🍜, soft boiled egg 🥚, roasted pork, and sweet corn 🌽
Sushi here is terrific too!!
We had one ramen 🍜 , two sushi 🍱 rolls, spring rolls, and edamame for $36.
The restaurant is clean 🧼 and the staff is friendly.
The venue here is funky and intimate, perfect for a family lunch, or date night out.
Order from the app at your table, or from the touchscreen kiosk.
Hagaya is quickly becoming one of our regular favorite spots!!

Fast. Friendly. You order from table or kisosk, don't expect full service. I like it, minimal interaction, prompt service. 😁 I've worked through most of the menu and it's always been well made and fresh. We sneak here from work. Just make sure you tell your significant other you're sneaking out, or they might catch you there when they sneak out. 😆
It's a great Emporia option that you'd expect to find in a bigger city.

The restaurant was beautiful, the sushi is as good as the Japanese market I went to in Orange County CA, and the service was low key and phenomenal. The food was well presented and so tasty I had to catch my breath. Thank you for bringing this wonderful gift to Emporia.

I love this place! You can order from a kiosk or sit down and order from your phone. Apps/entrée came out quick and everything tasted amazing. Complimentary water is at the table you pour yourself. 10/10 would recommend 👌 if I lived here I'd be a regular for sure.

Wonderful atmosphere and even better staff, the food is made fresh and never takes long. Hands down my favorite place in town

Absolutely delicious, so happy they've reopened. Sorry no pictures, gobbled it down. Ramen is incredible, sushi is fresh, not dry, flavorful, Dan Dan noodles silky flavorful goodness, gzoya has the most incredible sauce. Tonight the owners included spring rolls "on the house" - what a nice business practice. Chef trained in NY (where I'm from!) and Japan (if you the story of their biz online) and it is evident. By far a gem in Emporia - don't miss out!

So good, I'm so happy this place reopened! The springrolls and the spicy Tonkotsu ramen are especially delicious, the ordering system works well, and the atmosphere is really cool

Was kind of second guessing myself over the place. Walk in very nice. Had to order of my phone or a kiosk(did not really like that). Then the food came and it was amazing. Found this hidden gem in Emporia Ks. If I could put more stars I would. For now 5 will have to be enough. Great great amazing place.

This was a real surprise! The atmosphere was great, food was great, and the staff was very friendly! I will be returning each time I return to Emporia!

I don't usually give bad reviews when I am not happy somewhere, but this was a place where I had to make an exception.
My wife and I went for dinner here after hearing really good things from friends. We walked in and were awed by the beauty of the restaurant. We found seating, and we ordered. We've never had ramen at a restaurant before, but pictures were really appetizing.
The first problem we ran into was the thing that I've seen in a number of reviews: the cups were dirty and pouring water into them showed a film of grease across the top of the water.
First up was the gyoza and the spring rolls. They were both a solid "meh, not bad, I guess".
Our ramen and my wife's sushi finally arrived. It was less food than I'd expected, but it turns out that was a blessing in disguise. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, and my wife ordered the Miso Ramen. Both of us ordered extra egg, because we love eggs.
So, first taste was... something left to be desired. I figured that it was a new flavor I'd never tasted, so maybe it took a bit to adjust. Nope. No matter how much I ate, I did not adjust. So the eggs in it were cold, and the best I can describe the taste of the soft-boiled eggs is if someone had boiled them in a beer can they'd found at the side of the road. The ramen and broth, those were more... barnyardy. Like when you're standing next to a cattle pasture and take a deep breath through your mouth, that's what the broth tasted like.
My wife's miso ramen, on the other hand, she described as tasting like your grandma's 1970's furniture looks. You know that burnt orange and wood furniture in the living room where nicotine drips down the walls? Yeah, that.
All in all, the more than $40 I spent tonight was disappointing, but the fact that I needed to run to Dairy Queen afterwards just to get something to get the taste out of my mouth was the icing on the cake.
I gave the second star above because the restaurant was pretty, but there won't be a second visit...

I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful with a nice slow heat. The pork was nice and tender. The egg was a little over cooked for my liking. The dumplings were flavorful and a great accompaniment. There was little to no interaction with staff you walk in seat yourself, scan the QR code on the table and place your order on your phone (or at the kiosk if you prefer) and you can even payout out on your phone. All in all a good Ramen shop.

I ate there once or twice before they closed for the pandemic… and I am SO GLAD they’ve returned - with the addition of SUSHI! ❤️ I’ve been 3x since 😍
Hands down the best rolls you’re going to find in town; better than the places I’ve found anywhere closer than KC, and every bit as good as what I’ve found downtown KC and even in the heart of Chicago, New York, and DC!
The restaurant, while small, is beautifully decorated and creates an intimate dining experience, perfect for date night, in the booths, while sitting at the tables near the window provides a more casual atmosphere. The chefs and servers are very kind and helpful.
I like the contactless ordering system. It takes the pressure off deciding “right now” what I want. I can order from my phone and take my time or order in advance and pick up.
My recent orders have come with little surprises- every one a delight! I am not sure what this “on the house” roll is that was provided with my Alaskan roll in today’s takeout, but you bet I’m going to try to find out so I can order it next time!

The only reason I gave this two stars is because the management's sassy replies to bad reviews is entertaining. To the manager of the restaurant: I'm here to cut you a deal. I'll add stars to this review if you respond. The longer and sassier you're response, the more stars I'll give you. But if you ignore this review I'll drop it back down to one star. You have until 8/30/22 to respond. Also the food is mediocre at best.
Edit: you did not meet the deadline so I have dropped my review one star. I will still raise it depending on how sassy of a review you give.

My husband and I have been enjoying getting lunch together here. Very good sushi and we enjoy the ramen. My husband enjoys getting the Ramen to go because they package the different parts of it separate so it doesn't get soggy. I honestly love the appetizers a ton. Highly recommend!

The first time I came to this establishment it left a bit to be desired, but it was very nice on the inside and the staff were very courteous.
I figured I’d give it a few more shots before leaving a review. One may seem put off from doing so when seeing how criticism is handled by the management of this restaurant. Almost as if any form of critique would be replied to with the wrath of a confused teenager who didn’t get a PS5 for Christmas. If you expect to be involved in a professional business you have to deal with criticism. Just because Emporia is a food desert doesn’t mean you’re immune to criticism.
The noodles in the ramen were exquisitely done to perfection, but that’s where it ends. Sure it’s not the worst broth I’ve ever had but it was definitely leaving behind something to be desired in the flavor department. The egg usually leaving you with a disappointed “reward” hidden among the ramen. Not only was it an odd texture but had no flavor at all. On the bright side we can now pass the crown from Dennys to Hagaya for “a place that can’t boil and egg” in Tap Food Today.
The sushi laid dormant on the plate like it had just ran a 5k and given up half way through the run. The rice seemed to form an amalgamation of mush and whispered “we just can’t keep it together.”
Surely I could drink some water from this cup that seems to have been washed out in the back of a mechanics garage. Some thin lining of a grease like film coating the bottom of the cups leaving the water with a residual of some sort. So I ordered a canned soda (soda was 10/10). Once again giving Dennys a run for its money we continue on.
The appetizers were presented wonderfully and tasted absolutely delicious outside of one spring roll with inner fillings of what I can only imagine was a vegetable compote? (I hope).
In conclusion, the common pattern here is that presentation isn’t everything.
Simply put it’s a nice bow on a beaten box. Sure it holds stuff but would you give it as a gift?

Using the same logic, then ig makes sense why your food is tasteless, y'all are senseless individuals that have no business having a restaurant in Emporia 🥱
Updated for petty response. Seriously childish lol but like why do you guys always take time to be rude but not thank anyone? Dean was the last person you ever said anything sweet too. Weird! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Updated for 2022 reopening:
We came in on the first week they reopened. We waited the 40 minutes and we're happy to do so since this is a new week. There were two cooks - one of them kept touching her face and I didn't see a ton of hand washing 🙃 the cups were greasy so when we poured water into them they had a layer on top. We tested all of the cups at the table, all were greasy? Why? The kiosk was super easy to order from. We got quite a bit. The octopus takoyaki was super good. The rest of the meal barely floated on average. The ramen egg was cooked perfectly but had not been marinated as a ramen egg, so it was flavorless. The broth was good, but the meat in our bowl was soggy. It looked gray and it was unappetizing with no flavor. We left it out of the bowl in the end. The sushi was large and soggy as well. Fairly disappointed, but we will try again in the next few months to see if things get better.
First review from 2020: The space is amazing. Great sound and table setting.
My only critiques, as I've been to many ramen shops in Kansas, is that the broths (Tonkotsu and Miso) were too overpowering. The black garlic is v tasty addition, but for me it was overpowering to the point that the dish tasted burnt. For the miso, the broth was just super thick. Otherwise the noodles were firm, the meat was fatty and melty, and the egg was perfectly soft boiled. I only wished we could order additional sides for an extra charge!

I don’t usually leave reviews but I created an account just for this. I was so excited to go here with my friend when it finally opened back up because I LOVE ramen but I went here and was so incredibly disappointed. The water cups they had on the table were FILTHY there was actually dirt floating at the top of my drink that I could see and it was so gross I couldn’t drink it. Grabbed the next cup and it was also dirty i told me friend to look at her cup and it had the same thing. They do not wash those cups on the table at all. Then the food was just… there… it was so bland. Couldn’t even finish my ramen it was so bad. Then I talked to another friend of mine about her experience and she said the same thing. She actually left a review and then found out the owner had left a horribly unprofessional review underneath of hers when she was just trying to give constructive criticism. The owner does not care about making changes to better his restaurant just wants to insult anyone who leaves even a slightly negative review. Rude and unprofessional staff and ownership on top of just plain horrible food. A real disappointment don’t go here.

When I found out that this place had opened back up, I grabbed some friends and we came in! Everything was great! The app still needs a little work but that’s okay. My only 2 main problems is that the system was down so the woman took down my card info so that makes me nervous. Also, I’ve had a lot of tonkatsu in my life and I remember before the pandemic, this place had the BEST tonkatsu. When I came back in, it didn’t taste the same. Not even close. The pork, egg, and noodles were great! The broth tasted as if it was watered down. I hope that gets fixed with time. Also, where are the chatsu buns? I remember how much I loved those! Please bring them back!

I arrived very close to closing time but they still served me! The sashimi bento box was fresh and tasty and probably more than I should have eaten. It would make a nice shareable snack for two people. The Miso soup was perfect and the tempura was properly crunchy and extremely tasty. The young lady who brought my food to me was as gracious as she was attractive. I very rarely give five stars, especially for carryout places oh, but this was well worth it.

Absolutely Amazing food. At first look you can tell this is a small "mom & pop" location. I was passing by the town and I love to try places like this. It took about 15 minutes to prepare and it tasted so good!!! The staff was friendly. It seemed to have a good local following as there were cars constantly going through the drive-thru but not to busy. I will definitely stop by again next time I am in the area.
