Quantity over quality. We had a great time here and it truly is an experience. I may have ate too much but either way it took me a minute for my stomach to recover. I would recommend trying it out for the experience.

We first tried this restaurant at The Mall of America. Our wait at this location was around 35 minutes. The restaurant is on the smaller side and the waiting area is fairly cramped. We enjoyed the ease of trying new varieties of sushi. Virtually no or little waiting because of the revolving bar. Sushi was average quality, but the unique flavors made it worthwhile.

This place is so much fun and a really nice addition to the area. I believe the next closest one is all the way in Chicago so it was really nice to be able to have this experience again without the long drive. The sushi was on par with some of the best I've had and the Miso Ramen was absolutely excellent. The prices add up quickly but it is definitely worth the trip.

My wife and I decided to try this place out because I love sushi and I knew she would enjoy some ramen. It definitely sucks being a later table on the line I had to order most of what I wanted off of the screen because by the time it made it to our table it was already empty on the line but that's part of these style of restaurant's. The food was expected. My recommendation is ordering a bowl of ramen and then getting the sushi you want after. You can save a bit of money that way. Side note the little robot that brings the drinks was very cute.

Just alright. Being generous giving it 4 stars, would give 3 stars for the wait (2hours) but the food was good. Staff kind of forgets about you due to having food brought to you by conveyor belt. Asked for water 3 times, then they came and only gave one of us a refill lol (there were 4 of us all needing refills)

First time going today at about 11:20am we drove from Frankfort Indiana. It was awesome very fun and delish kind of pricey but really not that bad considering we had a ramen and 20 plates between two people and it was $100 bucks it’s really not too expensive I went thinking I’d spend $200 lol but we didn’t. Will drive there again I’ve been waiting so long to try kura and glad we didn’t have to drive to Chicago to experience it! Staff was great! Can’t wait to visit again so thankful Indiana has one of these locations now! Certainly cheaper than flying to Japan haha

If you've been to any other Kura, this is the same. Same quality and swiftness. A tad bit small so I can't recommend for bigger parties than 4 but perfect for a double date or normal date.

Sushi Experience №20

I walked in and mostly really enjoyed it till the end, the atmosphere is very cool and definitely a fun gimmick. That's about where it ends. The staff was mostly friendly, and the food was pretty mid, with the exception of the $6 dessert I ordered. (The Taiyaki Ice Cream, is actually really good!!!) Most of the sushi is Lukewarm and feels kind of mushy by the time you get it. Not at all worth the price!

I was visiting indy and my airbnb host said that this place opened recently and I like sushi so I figured dope I'll try it out. Back home there's 3 sushi places where you
Can pay $27.99 and get all you can eat made to order sushi

I'll start by saying supposedly I was told at the beginning that EVERY plate costs $3.75. I don't remember hearing that but I also admittedly am not the best at paying attention. HOWEVER the issue comes in when I sat down and started eating then confirmed with a staff member to make sure that if I ate off the moving conveyor belt rather than ordering off the computer above you, I would not gain additional charges and he confirmed this so I pigged out. I ate 32 plates. There is even a reward system for eating more! Every 15 plates a little capsule drops and gives you a prize which only encouraged me to eat more. At the end I received my bill, and the server asked if I was surprised by the price. It was pretty clear he knew I had no idea what I had done. Shocked I said yes I was surprised and told him I tried to confirm with another staff member prior to eating all that I did. He said he would do what he could but ultimately who I assume was the manager came by and was kind of a dick about the situation so I paid and left

My bill was $140 and
At least 7 of those plates were either mochi, water melon, or Cucumber. Absolutely ridiculous pricing!!!!!!! additionally these $3.75 plates have at best 2 -4 rolls on them. Ridiculous.

Part of the issue is that they have a very confusing order system and nowhere is it said visually ( Although supposedly verbally) that the conveyor is $3.75 a plate however ordering individual items on the computer has a separate cost depending on that item?? They have a feature on the computer that tells me how many plates I've had but not the price I'm racking up????? Honestly feels like a predatory system.

Lastly I'd like to say the server that handed me my bill was very nice about the situation and even offered to personally cover some of my bill because he felt bad about the situation however I declined as it wasnt his fault. Shout out to him.

Came here for the first time and was surprised. Food was fresh and clean, my favorite piece was the salmon toro. My only complaint was that it does matter where you are seated because people up first for the carousel get first dibs on more popular pieces, but the special ordering carousel does mitigate that issue because you can special order whatever you want for the same price right to your seat. I’ll be coming back. It isn’t cheap but you are paying for the experience as well as fresh sushi.

As I knew it would be busy. I had no problem with it. The servers were nice. My family and me went in for ramen mostly and we got told there was no ramen for the whole night?!?! While we did eat a few sushi it was ok. The price for what they put in a plate is kinda ridiculous. $3.75 for a plate is like a soda that has more and the sushi just 2 pieces. I went in with high hopes on how everyone thought it was cool but in reality was not satisfied at all.

The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. However, they don't provide a lot of information on the cost. Our waitress was very friendly but only visited our table 2 times. It took a long time for us to get our drinks, and it ended up being delivered by someone else. His spiel was a bit rushed due to them being busy, which is fine. But I didn't have the opportunity to learn how everything works - other than grabbing a plate from the revolving belt. We ended up spending more than we anticipated because we were not aware that it was $3.75 per plate. There's 1-4 pieces of sushi on the small plates. They motivate you to eat more by telling you every 15 plates gets you a keychain. The keychains and the little cartoons are really cute, and we did have a lot of fun. I get that they're trying to up sale by motivating you to eat more to get a keychain, that's apart of business. But going your first time can be confusing if you don't know how everything works. Especially since there was no staff available to really explain everything. I'm sure that part is better when it's not busy. I just felt a little tricked into spending more money. I wish we would've had more time to talk with our waiter and I wish they would have advised that each individual plate costs.
Despite that, I would definitely go again. But I would be more aware of the cost.

I understand restaurants get busy but the wait/check-in process was unacceptable. I put my name in via the app at 5 pm to make sure me and friend were able to make it to a hockey game at 7 pm. The app claimed a 20 minute wait time, we checked in at 5:40pm per the text notification, then proceeded to wait 50 minutes to never get seated since we had a game to get to. We watched multiple parties of all sizes that had checked into the iPad as we were standing there get seated as we were waiting (and I know we weren’t the only ones as there were other parties waiting with us). Really disappointed at the way business was handled here as I was looking forward to giving this place a try.

The experience is what makes this totally worth it. Small plates of sushi come by constantly. Special orders are prepared quickly and delivered directly to your place. The building is a bit cramped to make space for as many people as possible. The portions are small, but the food is good. It can be very easy to spend a lot of money quickly. If you desire to eat your weight in sushi, it will cost you here. The atmosphere is automation and feels futuristic. Definitely makes for a fun night, just watch that plate counter!

You’re paying for the revolving sushi bar more than anything else here. The quality of fish is mediocre at best. We also ran into issues with ordering drinks, getting our first round when we were close to be finished eating. It’s also overpriced for what it is. My review is based on comparing Kura sushi fishers to Kura Sushi in Japan.

1. Extremely overpriced. In Japan it's about $1.00-$1.500 a plate compared to the $3.75 at fishers for basic sushi. That's more than triple the price for the same amount.

2. Fish quality is mid grade

3. Good old tipping culture is in full effect. They want you to tip in addition to paying for overpriced food.

I guess you are paying for the experience of revolving sushi.

I've already made numerous visits since this location opened and have still not had a bad experience once. My expectations were pretty high for this place, the service is great, everyone was very welcoming and friendly, whoever the table wasn’t clean, the napkin holder was dusty and for a place that just opened I was surprised with how bad it looks already. Makes me afraid of food poisoning.
The fish does taste fresh but the dirty freaked me out. The soy sauce jar wasn’t clean and very sticky. Not worth it at all.
$90ish for two people / 20 small plates (it holds up to 4 small rolls and some of them comes with only 1 roll). Nicest part of the place was the robot bringing the drinks. It was very fun and I can imagine kids going crazy about it.

Is it the best sushi, meh, is it the best sushi experience, absolutely 💯. Go early otherwise you will wait a while for a table. The tables towards the windows are best as this is where the sushi exits the kitchen. You can order everything individually, but it can take longer, which is worth it for items you want hot. The app links to your table and is a little easier to order from than the touch screen.
Overall all the sushi is good, the wagu is decent if ordered hot, the ramen is good and decent portioned. Drinks are reasonably priced with refills and robot delivery!
Desserts are really good and decent value. Entire place is very clean, including food prep area.
Would I go back, probably not, is it an amazing place hell yes.

I was excited to try this place but I have to be honest. The concept is cool but This is the worst sushi I have ever had in my life and that’s saying something. I walked to the restroom and the curtain was left open to the kitchen and the sushi is all premade sitting on trays at room temperature not refrigerated. The rice used for the roles bad and mushy. The rolls were just sloppily made. The soy sauce dispenser is just a pain and barley work, get a normal dispenser. The wasabi I am not even sure what that was. None of the fish looked safe to me to eat which was disappointing. Maybe during lunch is different than dinner. I really had high hopes. $100 bucks not well spent.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar offers an interesting dining concept that brings a bit of novelty to the Indiana sushi scene. However, there are some noticeable areas for improvement.

The food quality is OK, but if you're accustomed to sushi in Japan or NYC, you might find it underwhelming. Some of the fish lacks freshness, and I could even taste ice on a few pieces, which was disappointing. That said, for Indiana standards, it's decent and likely better than many other options around.

The waiting time is unreasonably long, and the check-in process is extremely complicated and disorganized. This really detracts from the overall experience. The restaurant could benefit from implementing a better system to manage the long wait. Hopefully, the waitlist will become more manageable after the initial buzz dies down in a few months.

As for service, don't expect much. The place operates like a self-serve buffet, so there's minimal interaction with staff. Given the concept, this is somewhat understandable, but it’s still worth noting.

Overall, it's worth trying if you're curious about the revolving sushi experience, but manage your expectations. If you're looking for high-quality sushi or an efficient dining experience, this might not be the place for you just yet.

An important note is that a lot of people are going to this location. If you go during dinner, on the weekend, or during rush hours you could be looking at a 2 hour wait. I would highly recommend reserving tables in advance. We went on a Friday during lunch hours and only had a short 10 minute wait.

We traveled from New Albany to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and I can definitely say it was well worth the drive. There are many different sushi options at $3.75 a plate. Expect to pay around $40 a person. The revolving sushi is a nice touch. Grab what you want, and order everything else on the touch screen above.

I personally even tried the sake, and it was a balanced and whole flavor that complemented the sushi.

The Miso Ramen however is one of the most underrated plates on the menu! The seasoning was to die for, the pork was tender and light, the egg was light and added texture, not to even mention the broth. It was soooo good.

We even tried the ice cream. Nice flavor that taste homemade and fresh!

Also, 15 plates will get you a cute little prize.

Overall, this is a fantastic upscale casual stop that's well worth trying, enjoying, and even returning to!

First 3weeks, their quality was awesome. Yes we went there every week and made us good surprise! Tasty tuna, fresh salmon and they served organic rice plus all servers worked great.
We went there tonight Friday, it’s our another round to Kura. All our members were so disappointed.
Quality of fish, already down to grocery store level. Salmon tasted and looked low quality of frozen salmon ( milky orange color) yellow tail was carton box color. Is this their company’s strategy?? They serves better quality of ingredients for opening weeks only?? I’ve heard that Kura sushi in Chicago is not good as well. So dissatisfied.

I have lived in Japan for a long time and I had a Kura Sushi right down the street, therefore I was thrilled that they open one nearby. My husband never experienced belt sushi, so he had lots of fun. The food is good, with many options that are a little hard to find, like sea and toro. However, do not expect sushi- chef quality.
The reason for 3 stars is the price. As a Japanese chain restaurant in Japan the prices are starting at 125 Yen (approximately $0.83) per plate. My husband and I are not the type to hold back on fun, so our bill was over $130. Although the experienced was great, I consider that to be way overpriced for a Japanese fast-food style sushi.

It’s nice to be able to try a lot of different items in small portions. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but the kura roll, seared salmon with miso cream cheese nigiri, spicy salmon crunchy hand roll, and the crunchy roll have been my highlights so far. They also have an amazing rewards program that gives you $5 back for every $50 spent! I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff. There was a mixup with the location on my friend’s to go order for her boyfriend on our way out today due to a little bit of a glitch in the app, but they so kindly took care of it for her. Not a winner. While the food itself is not terrible it also isn't really good. Mosh of the rolls and nigiri are made inconsistently which is a huge red flag for me. The highlight was the warabimochi which was made right. But thing like $3.75 for hot green tea which is just complimentary in most of Japan is wild. Very small portions for $3.75 per plate. 2 hour wait after we signed in early and we're quoted 30-60 minutes. A small thing but as something who has been to Japan a few times it's a little aggressively fast for a Kaitenzushi. Like it gets you through FOMO.

Stood outside and waited for over an hour…went to check in and they said it was going to be 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, they said it was going to be 20 more minutes. After the 20 minutes, we checked in to see if we’d be seated shortly, and he said we would not because they’re still seating people from an hour and a half before. We got the text message for check in time 30 minutes before they had it in their system. Host had the nastiest attitude and said there’s nothing he could do. Also heard complaints about the food, and at that point decided to take our names off the wait list and go somewhere else.

Ive been to Kura quite a few times while living in Seattle so I was excited to have them in Indy now. There a lot more cream cheese options here and we got the American Wagyu roll - inedible! My husband and i had to spit it out bc the meat was SO chewy!

Loved the food, everything is very fast except getting drinks when it is crowded can sometimes take awhile.

A new favorite of ours!

We waited 2 hours just to get seated, the worst part was when we got our text we waited even longer in the cold. We had to stay by the entrance to hear our name be called. Once we got to the table it was fun, it's truly the experience that you are paying for honestly. The sushi was good but I will be honest I have had better. For two people to actually experience and leave satisfied you will spend at least $100.

This place just opened but the service was terrible, getting a table was not a
good experience as the front best guy failed to check us in, (maybe he wasn't trained on how to do that correctly), and we had to wait. The food was also below average even for an Indy Sushi place. If you're in this plaza, I suggest you skip Kura and go to Jinya Ramen instead.

We waited for 2 hours to be told we were 17th in line, and people were still showing up and swarming the street after the place was full. Our timer was at 15 minutes for an hour.

I recently visited a great rotating sushi bar, and it was a cool experience! The selection of sushi was good, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from. Every plate that passed by looked tempting, and it was hard not to grab everything in sight!

The service was equally pleasant. The staff were attentive and friendly. The restaurant's ambiance was vibrant yet relaxing, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining

One of the highlights was the seamless experience of picking up sushi right off the conveyor belt, allowing us to try a bit of everything at our own pace. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, and I can't wait to return for another sushi adventure.

Unique experience and thrilled to have this in Fishers. Anything can be ordered (from a sleek touch-screen) and will come direct to you on a 2nd belt. Choose sushi going by on the main belt, and robots will bring you beverages and other items as ordered. Friendly staff, clean facilities and very cool!

Overall great experience! Food was great and it’s easy to figure out the whole system of the conveyer belt. I never thought one of these restaurants would come to Indiana. I’ve only tried this in Chicago so I’m so happy it’s near me!

Ignore the negative reviews. Cut this place some slack. It just opened and it's a unique concept in Fishers, so there is gonna be a long wait. Plan accordingly for up to 2 hour wait, especially on the weekend (it's hard to determine a turn around time with this style of service). Grab a drink at Sun King while you wait or shop around at IKEA. I promise, this place is WELL WORTH the wait. It's a really great, unique experience. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, hit the call button, and someone will assist you.

Combined with a great atmosphere and amazing sushi, it's worth checking out! You are able to order additional dishes that are not included on the belt as well!

We'll be back for sure! Just know what you're in for because they still have a few edges to sand down for just opening. For as busy as it was, that was one of the best experiences we had at a new restaurant in a long time.

Went within a week of opening. Cute one time experience, but food/fish didn't seem very fresh. Lacked flavor on plates w sauces. 3.75 a plate is expensive for the portions. We all left hungry. Spent about $100 for 4 people. Overall worth it to see what it's about, but don't overspend and grab some taco bell on the way home.

Disappointing sushi experience. The soy sauce dispenser barely would give soy sauce. We had to ask and wait for wasabi which was paste out of a tube. The salmon toro itself was good but the rice fell apart and the soy sauce/wasabi situation made it not able to be enjoyed. Portions were very small for the price. The spicy mayo was dark and gummy?! I have never had spicy mayo like that anywhere.

1) First off I never got my $5 coupon when joining the news letter. 2) The point of downloading app was to place myself on the waitlist but there was no option. I went in and they had a hour and a half waitlist time 1 hr before closing. Liars fix your stuff

The sushi is very fresh and the price is very reasonable. It is nice only having to take two pieces instead of an eight piece full roll when you want to try something new here.

I found it very approachable as a new-to-sushi person. It was awesome to see so many options and try dishes that were new without having to commit to something way beyond my current comfort zone.

While the food was delicious, the small restaurant made for a loud evening that felt a little chaotic for a Wednesday night. The staff that directed us to our seats didn't explain the menu or conveyor delivery system, even though I was clearly on my own with two small children and looked clueless. I had trouble at first getting the plates off the conveyor, and I didn't realize until after we'd already left they had many more child-friendly options, and other dessert options, that are meant to be ordered directly to my table. All in all, we'd go back, but I'm disappointed no one helped me understand the concept.

i've been to the location in the chicago suburbs and had a great experience! wish i could say the same for here. food was decent, special orders from the kitchen came quickly. my group came for the advertised pikmin shirts. we were within the first 10 people in line -- the advertisement claimed the first 50 customers seated would receive a shirt. however, the hostess told us each group only received one shirt (that we weren't able to pick the size of) so they wouldn't run out. noticed that the table next to us received 3 shirts so i asked for clarification at checkout while we were leaving. i was told by a different staff member that they're only for app members (each of us had the app) and that i could come back tomorrow for a shirt. so they're not out of shirts, didn't uphold their end of the promo, but i can come back tomorrow and spend more money to receive a promo item we came an hour early for and already spent money for today. also the shirt we did receive had a stain on it straight out of the package. not a great impression of a new restaurant i was really excited to frequent.

I was blown away by the experience. Even though we were seated at the very corner, staff would occasionally check on us and ensure we were in need of anything. I was surprised that they had bidets in the restroom, but its a one per person. The water was steaming hot when washing hands but wasn't too bad. Overall, the food was delicious and wide variety to choose. They teach you how to obtain the plates since they are inside "Mr.Fresh". Highly recommend coming to experience it.

Loved it… Great experience. The rotating sushi is a great concept (new to the states but not to Japan)

To Bo Peng, the 1 star… They did just open a few days ago. The wasabi is small because it’s potent and you didn’t get a refill because you didn’t hit the bottom, so your 1 star review is a bit unfair.

Kura Sushi in Fishers was amazing. My wife and I have been to one in Japan and it felt very similar with some modifications for an American audience.

They were also extremely busy on opening weekend as you'd expect, but once we were seated service prompt and polite.

After being to three of their other locations, this one did not disappoint. All of the food tasted great! Reminder that this is made to be an affordable option for sushi and not top of the line but still amazing. Also has some vegetarian options, but it is a sushi place, so most will have meat on them.

Maybe they just opened, we got no service at all. Ordered water on the monitor and brought out by robot but never got refill. Sushi sizes are tiny, some fresh but not the uni(sea urchin). Some fish semi-frozen. Soy sauce too salty, no wasabi and had to wave down a waitress and bought us a tiny disk with a thumbnail size for our table of 4. So much worse from every other Kura location I question if it is the same place.
