Kura Sushi USA, Inc., is an innovative and tech interactive Japanese restaurant concept established in 2008 as a subsidiary of Kura Sushi, Inc. As pioneers of the revolving sushi concept, the Kura family of companies have improved upon the developed innovative systems that combine advanced technology, premium ingredients, and affordable prices to enhance the unique dining experience. Since the first restaurant opening in 1977, Kura Sushi, Inc. has grown substantially with more than 500 locations across Japan, Taiwan and the United States. Our philosophy of muten or nothing added is an ongoing promise that our food is prepared using fresh, high quality ingredients free of artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives and colorings.
After trying almost all sushi in the area I had slowly stopped eating it but after finding kura I started to enjoy it again! The freshness of the food shines through beautifully and I have a new found love for raw fish. Kura is the first and only restaurant that I truly enjoy the taste (and lack of a bad after taste) of raw fish.

This restaurant features revolving Sushis priced at $3.5 each. You can also order special items with the touch screen and your order will be delivered to your table via the conveyor belt. After you putting the empty plates in the slot and over $15, the system will reward you with a small toy in a plastic ball. My kids love it.

I’ve been to Kura before and even the one in Japan. I love their system here you can almost sit down and eat without talking to anyone. Like the one in Japan after they sit you down, you don’t really need to speak to another worker. When you’re done you pay with QR code through phone.
The food was good I got my usual umami oil seared beef. Tried some new wagyu sushi pieces most were good except this one limited time sushi with one large wagyu piece was tough to chew. The other limited time wagyu that was cut into small pieces was way better. Takoyaki was also good.
I liked their spicy tuna a lot but it’s not the same as before, they replaced some tuna with cucumbers now which is a good idea to lower costs as inflation is still high.

Once you figure it all out, it's actually a fab place for sushi. The only problem is that until you figure it all out, how to order, what to order, and how to use their automated system, you're kind of on your own because customer service is lacking.. it's all worth it, tho as the sushi is fresh and awesome and fairly priced. It's my new favor for sushi.

The food is good for a sushi place where they are not making the stuff directly in front of you. I didn't like either of the rolls I tried, but the nigiri was really good. They even had REAL wasabi, not just the standard green powder.
They had a drink serving robot, and Japanese style toilets with bidets and automatic opening lids.
The cost can add up quickly if you aren't paying attention, so if you are on a budget just make sure to keep track of how many plates you have gotten it you may be surprised at the end of your experience.

An update from my recent visit- Kura have a 50% off promo for all their ramen and soup till mid-March, and I was craving for some ramen, so I decided to grab this opportunity and go there after lunch hours. 1st thing I noticed as I walked into my table was this very strong smell of bleach. It was very off-putting, I tried to ignore it at first, but eventually, I think I could taste it. I ordered a tonkotsu ramen, and the serving is way too small for more than 10 dollars. No wonder it is 50% off . The pork slices taste like some store bought Thanksgiving ham, it wasnt that bad, but it's not good either. Overall, it's not worth my trip. I also grabbed some sushi and tried their new stuff like seared scallop and boy it taste disgusting. The garlic skipjack tuna is not good either . I noticed a lot of their sushi is super small and doesn't look fresh. I don't know, but the quality or the quantity of what they offer seems going downhill fast. 5 stars, though, for my waiter, such a nice guy!
I've been anticipating the opening of this location since summer. Place is located in front of H-Mart and Costco by Ogden Ave. Dined in on a Friday night, and it was a little busy around 20 mins wait time. Staff are friendly. The restaurant is clean and bright, and the sushi conveyer belt looks clean. They have 2 server robots that bring drinks to the table, so its a nice entertainment for kids and adults. Decor is very simple. Now for the food, it's a hit or miss for about $3 to 4.50 per small portion of plate it's a bit expensive. Someone can get easily carried away by just grabbing everything, and these tiny plates add up in the end. I think I tried all of their selections in the conveyer plus side orders of fried octopus and miso soup. For 2 people, we cleaned up 31 plates. 31 plates sounds a lot, but it's not the case as some sushi and rolls are cut in such a tiny / thin portion maybe a little bigger than my thumb or a little bigger than a size of a quarter with a laughable barely there cream cheese on top of some of the sushi. Overall, it was a fun experience, but there were moments in time where 3 mins or so had passed where there's barely any food on the belt as it was already gone before it reached our table. By the way, every 15 plates, you cleaned up a plastic ball with a toy inside drops by your table just you know.

Went there today and had a negative experience. The restaurant smelled heavily of bleach and the conveyer belts were essentially empty despite going in midday.
I have an allergy to avocado and typically I'm able to add a note on a screen or paper, however I had to flag down a server to ask what the protocol was as i wanted to try the crunchy rolls and California rolls.
After she came back I was informed they'd be able to, but I'd have to eat the entirety of what they order. 3 rolls turned to 9. I opted to just try the crunchy roll and the sweet shrimp (which tasted very off I didn't even finish it). I've never been to a sushi establishment, even the rotary sushi in aurora, where just ordering something for my allergy triples the quantity.
My date ended up finishing my rolls since I felt it didn't taste right. I listened to what I was told and ordered a set of 3, all had avocado.
I am very disappointed with how they handled the allergy situation. I also believe that there was cross contamination as I'm home and my mouth and face are itchy, splotchy and hives have started.
Overall, they have a very disappointing protocol for allergies I'm certain they don't even follow given my reaction still came and the fish was far from fresh.

Food was good but I expected a little better, food came out fast but when I walked it the host/waiter looked at me like if he was stressed or angry. It was almost empty and made me wait then gave me a table all at the end in a corner where I got the last plates where most of them were empty so I had to just order everything through the tablet.

It was definitely an unique experience for us. Food was good and you can even order from the order kiosk if you want it fresh and items that are not on the belt. It was a quick but fresh eat. Everything is very straight forward and you don't have to interact with servers. We will be back with more people so they could enjoy the innovation and freshness!

Worst Kura Sushi among Chicagoland area. Barely any food on the conveyor belts, food took a while to come when ordered from the screen. Staff there did not bother to even care when calling for help or even asking for the check. Simply ignored all requests, didn't even bother to check on on tables. Had to manually flag down a waiter and let them know I want the check.
There were ongoing promotions and they did provide us that despite eating over $100. Had to actively ask for it and the waiter simply dismissed us.
Not coming back to this one ever again. I rather drive miles away to another location than this.

Great selection of raw fish, but the nigiri presentation was substandard and seemed lazy -- i.e., the fish is simply laid atop the rice, preventing the correct eating process of fish first into the soy. Clumsy. Moreover, some of the roll pieces were way too large, requiring 2-3 bites-- again, not correct sushi form. On the plus, for the amount you get, the prices are fantastic.

The only reason i am not giving it 5 stars is because it is relatively pricey. However, this is my second time going and continue to come back because of how delicious the food is and how creative and unique the atmosphere is. Great date night and great for kids!

We went there for the experience, and there were very few sushi on the conveyor belt. We asked the waitress, she said that when it is slow, they make less. But when we left, the restaurant was almost half full. Even when we placed orders, it took a while. The problem was, since you can see where the sushi is being made, it was clear to see that for most of our time there, no one was making any sushi. Sad, we have gone several times before. This time was a disappointment.

Everything is cool. Very fresh ingredients for the sushi but I got takoyaki once and then stopped trusting their hot items. Them thangs was mad frozen. The place smells like ammonia too but you get used to it really quick. The tables and the rotary are very nice. The robot has great manners. The people leave you alone. Good spot. Wish they would have some Kirby stuff in the gacha balls soon. I like crushing those with my bare hands after I take the prizes out.

We came in a little hour before close. They already stopped making sushi and the conveyor was pretty empty. What was remaining had clearly been rotating for a while. They can still make rolls to order. Staff didn't check on us and we didn't get soy sauce, plates, or utensils. Kind of expensive, and the sushi was disappointing. My kid loved the animations from the screen though.

Idk, this isn't a bad location, the food all tasted really good and it wasn't loud in there even when it was busy, but the conveyor belt was always basically empty. What annoyed me most was all the empty platters for the *specialty* items that you can't find on the iPad menu that never got refilled the whole time we were there. Again, food was good, but there was basically no variety on the conveyor belt.

The food is good, the waiters are kind and attentive (there’s also a robot waiter which is fun to see in action), and food can be made to order rather quickly. It’s a fun experience with reasonable pricing. I would totally recommend giving this place a try.

The conveyor belt was basically empty with the same couple of things coming around repeatedly! Additionally the sushi wasn’t good. Salmon had bones in it and a few of the rolls had that “fishy” taste of low quality sushi. Definitely will not be back.
Visited 5 months ago
Update* Just recently went in- updated from a 2 to 4 because the sushi was better quality, nothing was frozen, and the other fried dishes were crispy and fresh. Most importantly, the bleach smell has gone away.
Overall it’s unfortunate. I really liked this place and I’ve been here maybe 10 times since it’s opened. It was great for the first many times. However, over the past couple months things have really started to slip.
Sticky plates, barely any items on the conveyor, no more robots, bleach smell when you walk in, quality of sushi has gone downhill, etc. Some items just straight up tasted old. These things never used to be problems! And let me be clear- I want it to improve so I can keep going!

Don't get me wrong the food is really good. The downfall was perhaps the hour I went, was a bit slow and the conveyor belt had barely anything coming out from the kitchen ( i visited between 2 and 3pm). It's just nice to see it (the food) go around... instead I just kiosk ordered everything I wanted.
Visited 5 months ago
The gimmicks of the conveyor belt, drink robots, plate gacha, and rewards were all pretty cool and the staff was great. The food however was not. Tons of empty containers on the conveyor belt and what was there looked dry and low quality for sushi. No bands of fat on the salmon or tuna and plates that looked like they had been out too long. While it was a cool experience, I'm there for the food and that was a disappointment.

My 2.7 year old getting cold so we had to leave fast. Beer was good. 😃 I had to order food from the computer they have and was pretty fast. Disappointing honestly.
Would have saved some the disappointment going to Sushi Rotary. It is 3pm and there’s nothing in the conveyor belt.
On top of that I specifically ordered food and edamame from the IPAD screen food still came out ice cold.
It came out so cold that the “premium American beef” might has well be fed to someone that is 6 feet under.

Our server was good but we went at 4pm on a Tuesday and there was barely any food on the conveyor belt. We ordered a few things off the menu which was fine but we like to do conveyor belt to try different things and it’s more fun for our son. If it was a time of day issue, it seems like they should close between busy hours or make it known it’s strictly menu ordering during those hours. Kind of a strange experience

Usually quite enjoy myself here. However on my most recent visit, I sat for half an hour and the same few plates of sushi circled the entire time. Nothing was replenished on the revolving belt at all. It was just after 1pm; there were several other tables. I had to order my entire meal off the screen as everything on the belt had been sitting there for a long time. Which isn’t the end of the world, but was pretty annoying at a normal lunch time.

The girl working at the host stand made me feel very comfortable and I got to sit in a section by myself which helped with my nerves. All the food looked amazing. Every dish I had I loved. Been a few times. Solid conveyor belt sushi. Good quality for price point. Overall you come here for decent nigiri. Highly recommend the kura roll, crispy rice with crab, and the tantan ramen. You get prizes every 15 plates which racks up your bill. I personally don't like gatcha prizes, one time we had back to back of the same prize so that was kind of lame. Seating is meant for a party of 4 so if you have more people you might sit across the walkway from each other so not ideal for conversation. Had times when workers checked on us a lot and had times when they didn't. Overall worth going to at least once.

The sushi rice looked terrible, there was basically no sushi on the line for about 20 minutes as we waited there. Nobody greeted us while we were there until we sat down ourselves and tried to place an order. Their menu online didn't reflect at all what you are able to order and lacked variety. It's possible we went at a poor time, however this was quite a disappointing experience.

Great, there’s a closer location than Schaumburg. The food for its price is bad. The nigiri sizes.. wow! It’s so tiny! If you go to the Schaumburg location, it is good and a fair size, not here. Not worth it I’d say. I was seated at the back which was fine, don’t care. But the smell of bleach was overwhelming. Service was 1 star because.. what service? I usually go to the Kura in Oakbrook, which is excellent. This one is...okay. The robots are broken, but the staff is timely and nice, so drinks weren't hard to get. The sushi is the problem. The beef was super fatty and barely seared in spots, so it was very literally still raw, not rare, in places. The plates are all weirdly sticky so that was gross! And the rolls were falling apart, their rice isn't sticky. Overall I was really disappointed since I can compare it to an older location nearby, like this one is new =/

Fun but… don’t come if your kid is dying to see the robot, the robots are broken. You have to think about where you are sitting at this restaurant. We could see people on the other side having many sushi options delivered to them, but almost nothing made it to where we were sitting. I like the idea of the mini plates of sushi rolls, and the price is OK. If you are here at a slower time or seated in the wrong place, you will end up having to custom order dishes, rather than choosing from a variety parading past.

Wanted to like this place but unfortunately the food fell a bit short. On the plus side it's a cool place with all the conveyor belts and technology. Unfortunately the food was lacking flavor. Some dishes were too sweet while others had too much soy. Pricewise wasn't bad, $3.40/plate off the belt. Staff was also friendly. Go for the experience not the food :(

We went there a couple of times already and we loved it. Food was great. Didn't expect much for conveyor sushi place but we were pleasantly surprised. Love the robot bringing us drinks. That was cute. We ordered it fresh from the menu if we didn't see what we wanted and we had it delivered directly to us very fast. That was fun too. Overall we like coming here. Also since there aren't any "service" to speak of since there are no waiters to serve you, not sure if tipping is necessary here. Robots bring you the drinks and you pay on the app when you're done. So no tip? I'm not sure.

We don't get out to Naperville that often, but when we were invited to the grand opening of @kurasushi_usa in Naperville, we jumped in the car.
Kura Sushi is a revolving sushi bar from Japan that has the largest variety and freshest ingredients.
Their sushi not only includes a vast assortment of seafood, but they also include 4 different steaks, chicken, soup, ramen, and desserts.
There's a nice selection of Nigeri, Sushi rolls, Norimaki, Gunkan, and more!
This is the best revolving sushi bar that we have ever eaten at. If you miss something you want the first time, don't worry, it will come back around.
Boy, did we eat. We ate a lot and many different items we had never tried before.
The Kurabots deliver your drinks to the table, and they are so cute!
There is definitely something for everyone here. Great quality food at reasonable prices.
If you love Sushi, this is the place for you!
They also have locations in Oakbrook, Schaumburg, and coming soon,

I really wanted to give this Kura location 5 stars, but...no. First off, I really LOVE the Schaumburg location. Food and service is always on point. AND the rotary is consistently getting replenished. However, the Naperville location. Not so much. Empty rotary. We saw and could count less than 10 available dishes from the rotary ( the entire time we were there) Your best bet is to order food straight from the computer screen, which is what we did. So if you are there for the rotary, skip this place. You'll see nothing but empty plates. Also, Schaumburg has more options in regards to rolls. It was a Thursday night, we did not wait more than 2 min for a table. Place was about 65% full. Service is friendly, parking is free and abundant. Located right next to Naansense and near Hmart, Costco and Dollar Tree. Would I come back? Probably not.

Been here multiple times now. Yum. So happy that they finally opened. My husband, friends, and our kids all enjoyed it a lot. They used to make you wait outside, but now you’re allowed to wait in your car and they’ll text you when your table is ready.
One time we were seated by the entrance and it was soooo cold. Every time someone opened and closed the door we could feel the wind. My 3 yo was freezing. Half of the restaurant was empty, so I’m not sure why they made us sit there.
Also, sometimes the conveyor belt is pretty much empty, so you just have to order what you want from the iPad.

My wife and I visited this location yesterday and had a great time. I visited a Kura location several years ago in Houston so knew what to expect as far as how the system worked but even then this trip had a few surprises. First off, the drink robot was a new one for me and it made the experience even more wild and authentic. The plate choices were different and the beef options were a pleasant surprise and not something I've ever tried before. We had a great time and would go back again when in the area. On a side note, I saw someone on here complaining about tipping. Keep in mind, the servers are available to refill and the tips probably go to the people in the back making sushi as well.

Food was good/okay. We had more trouble with the virtual server at the table than help. Had to be reset and orders weren't going through to the kitchen. Extended meal time by awhile waiting for food orders that were never received. Price is reasonable/on par with other rotary spots. No big rush to go back

Kura is a lot of fun. There is a revolving sushi track table side, and a slot to slide your plates in (your plates get counted that way). The sushi is under a plastic dome, so you push down on the dome hard, it pops open, and you take the plate off the revolving belt.

This is about the Naperville location, not the Schaumberg location.
The food is really good and the experience is nice once you actually get in the door. All of the plates are the same price whether they're vegetarian or generally more expensive seafood. I think that it's more convenient and will even out if you're going with a family, but not if you're a vegetarian.
The two stars were for the food being good and the ability to order on an ipad and have food delivered via conveyor belt was a good experience.
My reason for the low score is the service and experience. Upon arrival, you sign in on an ipad outside in the cold. You're not allowed to wait inside, so you have to stand outside or sit in your car and waste gas until you receive a text that they're ready. Hopefully, they will change this system to let people join the waitlist while they're on their way, otherwise it's not worth it.
My family and I wanted waters and when we asked the waiter they told us to order it on the ipad and wait for the robot to bring it. In theory, this is a cute idea to have a rolling robot deliver you your drinks. In practice, we ordered twice and then had to ask a waiter again and emphasize the fact that we had been waiting over 15 minutes for the dang robot because another server wouldn't bring us water. This was rude and unrealistic. I understand that the place is busy, but until they get rid of the robots and make a seating area inside, I'd reccomend the Kura location in Schaumberg or Rotary Sushi in Aroura which has a nice comfy waiting area, attentive staff, and still lets you order off an ipad if you need.

My brother and I placed an online order for pickup and are extremely disappointed. While the food was good, we waited for almost an hour over the pick up time.
We pulled up to the drive through window where we waited for 5 minutes. Workers noticed us, and even waved, but did not come to the window. My brother went inside and asked to pick up our order and was told it wasn’t ready. Then was told there was a problem with online ordering and had to show them what we ordered. We then waited another 45 minutes for the food to be ready. No apology, discount, or coupon was given and one of our items was also forgotten.
I would not order online again and am disappointed with the customer service.

So my family and I wanted to try this place and just happened to go tonight because our normal sushi place next to fox valley mall had a 45min wait and kids were hungry. We were surprised there was no wait, but later understood why…. When we entered the restaurant, there was a strong smell of bleach and my kids were complaining that it smelled like a swimming pool. We were seated quickly as there were open tables. As we got settled and were getting ready to pick dishes off the conveyor belt, we noticed there were a lot of open empty containers where the sushi dishes should be sitting (this was about 6pm) and the few random dishes that had sushi was disappointing to say the least. The fish was pretty much transparent as they were very thinly sliced pieces of fish on a large bed of rice. After sitting for maybe 3 minutes, we just decided to leave because the smell of bleach was overwhelming and the few dishes that were on the conveyor didn’t look very appetizing. So as we left I was the first one out and my family followed. I see my wife trying to be polite and say the kids were not interested in sushi tonight. And as she turns her back to leave I look back and see the hostess give major side eye to the other host as my wife was leaving. This is a new restaurant that we were hoping would be good, but I don’t see us going back. And now I can kind of understand why this restaurant doesn’t have a very good rating on Google.

Love the conveyor belt concept! So much fun with a group of friends (4 per table). The sushi was great. We loved everything we tried. The plate collector and prize for 15 plates is a cute little touch.
At $3.40/plate you can rack up the bill pretty quickly, but I feel it is fairly priced. Get a group of friends together, split the dished and the bill!
I will definitely go here again.

A machine greets you, serves you, and probably prepares your food. I don't know how it is in Japan, but the sushi here was too low quality to come back again. Hot rice nigiri and badly cut fish. Many better spots around town at the same price point.

First three visits were excellent - speed, quality and service. This last visit was a complete 180. We waited an hour for just three items!
During this time, we kept telling the wait staff that there was something wrong with our order because parties that arrived after we had placed our order had ordered and received multiple lates of their food. We were largely ignored and assured each time that the kitchen is aware and that our order was on the way. After an hour of everyone else receiving their orders and not ours, we gave up.
Lo and behold, after we paid, a waiter shows up with one of the hand rolls.
This recent experience exposed how severely understaffed the kitchen is. There’s also no lobby/waiting area so if they try to sit you near the exit and it’s winter, just don’t.
I hate to give this place a lower than average review because the quality and price is better than the competition but the decline in service will have me going back to sushi rotary plus on the other side of town.

Went for lunch with my family of 4. Everything about the process of ordering and receiving food was explained very well by the staff. They were attentive throughout the whole meal. If an option wasn't on the conveyor belt, we ordered it using the tablet, and it came fairly quickly. The sushi itself was fine, but a little expensive per plate. I would come back for the atmosphere and service, but there is better sushi in the area at a lower price.

I've been to several rotary sushi places but this was the nicest. The sushi that they serve is far more like the sushi served in contemporary Japan than in other sushi places in the US. The atmosphere is fantastic, fun for adults and children. Plus they have smart toilets in the bathrooms!

Here, so as soon we seated I know we r in trouble lol. While this is new here, i Jsut realize from the set up that we been to this restaurant before the one in CA which wasn't good at all lol
We dined there because we were out of town didn't know what was good but saw a line of ppl waiting for it to open lol. Can't say it's good but can't say it bad...I had worse lol
So here we are in this new naperville location with open mind...If u like the belt experience, sure, But there also sushi plus at fox valley
There obviously better sushi, not sure we will be back. I mean $3.4 a plate for two sushi is excellent! but very very small thin of fish lol This is Like a very affordable kinda of sushi! But if u r Asian u know what I mean just stick to the sushi restaurant in Schaumburg area lol
Oh the rice, all the rice are NOT stick as soon as you use chopstick to grab the sushi half of the rice fall off stay on plate lol
It's kind of sad so many Asian In naperville, no good sushi place no good ramen place no good Korean BBQ place...Need to go up north every weeknd lol
Over all I can't say it's bad or good, u really pay for what you get. Two kids and two adult we still ordered $120+ and the sushi wasn't great lol
Ps. How do you guys even tip here?!?!?! The host seat us, we went to grab food from the belt we also ordered alot of food on the screen and it came in the upper belt. We paid at the screen. The waiter wasn't even here lol. The bill came with a choice of 18% 20% or 25%. How the heck you tip anything not alone 25% when the wait staffs never showed up lol the tipping culture gotten crazy eveywhere lol

I placed an order online, waited almost an hour until the time that was shown on the order. When I got to the pickup window, they didn't know who I was at all, I had to read them my order number.
Save your time and go to a real sushi place

Food - average for a chain. It's not the best you ever had, but if you go in with the expectations that it's basically the McDonald's of sushi, you'll be fine
Service - the staff were very polite, but you had to order basically everything through the touchpad instead of the revolving section. The revolving section was almost completely empty the entire time we were there (and that's at 6pm). We ordered water and had to wait for a robot to deliver it instead of the staff just bringing it to us. This a long with the lack of choices on the revolving section were a big letdown.
Atmosphere - clean and bright. No issues here
Overall - I wouldn't go again. You can either go to the Kura in Schaumburg or another tmrotart sushi place off of 59 in Naperville. They have a far better selection to choose from rather than waiting.

Not as good as other Kura Sushis I’ve been to unfortunately. Quality of the fish is ok. Service itself was average as well. Space is a quite cramped. However, the capsule toy experience and ability to order the sushis and hot foods were great!

I had a bad experience, sushi it tested terrible even the way it’s rolled not professional. High price for low quality, they sell mini watermelon plate for $3.40 ,I ordered shrimp tempura omg I never seen shrimps that small you would think it should be crunchy but no they were saggy and oily,I was looking forward for the opening . They don’t even have a waiting area when it gets busy ,so if you are going in cold days you are going to be waiting out in the cold . And if you are dining and customer opens the door you are going to feel the cold draft not comfortable at all.
I’m better off going to rotary sushi its much better and delicious.

Apparently their seating system is worthless. We checked in and was told it would be 15 minutes and that we would get a text when it's our turn. But they weren't even texting people. They were just calling people waiting in the cold. Because we depended on the text and were waiting in the car, we didn't get called. And no text.
But after I said something, we got seated relatively quickly. And I received no text because, supposedly, they knew we were outside.🙄

Great staff and a clean restaurant with a silly robot that delivers you your drinks. The sushi was decent. It was fun getting prizes for the amout of sushi plates you ate. It isnt hard to get to the prizes because the each plate serving is pretty small compared to other sushi restaurants I've been to.

It was really cool to experience a grand opening! The food was quite delicious, not the best sushi I’ve ever had but still quite good. I had wanted to experience a rotary sushi place like this for a while! I think it was quite cool how you could order whatever food you wanted on top of what was revolving around. I dined alone so I didn’t get to experience much of the animated story you get to follow by submitting plates. I’d love to visit this place again with a group :)

We waited about an hour and a half. I understand it just opened but this guy kept coming out and kept saying "I'm just going down the list!" He said there were 4 tables ahead of us, and then 7. He was very rude, too. The wait I understand, but it could've been handled more professionally. We went to Sushi Naper instead.

We’re a fan of Kura and I’m excited they’ve opened up in Naperville! We’ve been to Schaumburg, Oak Brook location, and now Naperville! Compared to other locations, it’s on the smaller end, but I actually liked it better because I got to sit near the kitchen where the action happens. Watching 2 rows of revolving sushi was so interesting.
My favorite items are: snow crab leg, (all 3 types of) sweet shrimp, seared scallop with Japanese Mayo, real crab California roll, Tantanmen, and Hokkaido milk creamy tart.
Service was excellent. I went on grand opening day and all hands were on deck. I don’t think they have liquor license yet but there are soft drinks available.
I love that Kura rotates the prizes so it’s not always the same. I can see that the facility is kept clean.

This place is so fresh and clean, just opened and I love the whole menu. Ate every single thing I wanted along with a group of 4 and the bill was only $200 for all 5 of us. Highly recommend.

It was kind of fun and we had fun but many of the plates going by were empty. We just ordered what we wanted and got it but it's always more fun grabbing it as it goes by. The robot delivering drinks was a cool touch 🤖🤖🤖
VERY long wait for a table and we never got a text about our table we just finally checked in and they said we could have sat a long time ago so we wound up eating at like 9pm

This place is nice and the food was really good for the price. I really wish this restaurant was bigger though - there's no waiting room space and walkways feel kinda cramped/claustrophobic. The robots that deliver your drinks are cute. The staff are very nice and welcoming, and they took the time to explain how everything works and the proper way to grab a plate from the rotary.

First experience with rotating sushi! Since going through chemo, I was extremely limited on sushi options, but the couple rolls I could have were great, and so was the Ramen and chicken dumplings. With the accommodations I needed, our server Relle was amazing and made sure the beef was seared a little extra for me, and the Ramen egg was removed since it was not hard boiled. (I can only have fully cooked meat. The whole experience was lovely and can't wait to go back!

This branch is sooooo good and welcoming!
I don’t know how they keep the same quality as the ones back home in Japan.
Happy to have one close to my house! So happy it’s open till pretty late, when I need some good reasonable sushi after work.

This location was packed when we arrived and yet there is no lobby/waiting area. There was half a dozen of us waiting outside for our table. thank goodness it wasn't raining or freezing out. really hope they address this before winter.
my dad put in an order with a staff member and 40 minutes later we were all done eating and he never received his meal. we asked where it was and they acted like he never placed the order.
i highly suggest you request a table on the right side of the rotating bar because we were on the left side and the plates were always empty by the time they got to us.
overall, this placed felt jam-packed with people and tables and not in a good way, but in a constantly having to dodge people because there is literally no space to walk way. I do not plan on returning.

Stellar. Every single thing we tried was of extremely high quality. I'm pretty sure that was either real wasabi, or at least it had real wasabi in it. Every texture, every flavor was exactly as it should be. I even used less soy sauce than I normally do so that I could really take in the flavors.
Just be warned that this place is pricey. We spent almost $50 per person, and no one got alcohol. Worth every penny.
