Really nice little place. Me and a friend came in and they sat us down right away. We got all you can eat sushi. We tried all of the sushi and every single one of them were delicious. The Crab Rangoon was the best I ever had and all of the other sides we had were amazing. We finished off with the mochi iced cream.
Over all it was amazing and the only complaint was the service was a bit slow. I would definitely bring friends here again!

Very delicious! Place was decent, clean, not very busy, we tried their appetizers ebi shumai was fried and gyoza was steamed we loved it! No complaints...we tried eel was ok
My boyfriend on the other hand he thought it was a 3/10 service sucked waitress didn't know what was on the menu, although we did get our food quickly, I couldn't imagine when they are busy!
They have a Chinese menu which is awkward

Oishi Sushi is the best place to eat all you can eat sushi in the area! Best shrimp tempura rolls and legitimately my favorite chicken fried rice! Amazing Chinese food in general, which is also a part of the all you can eat menu! Owner and employees are also very kind! Highly recommended!

Very nice little restaurant. We chose the lunch all-you-can eat option. You mark on a printed form your selection and you can keep adding selections as long as you can finish them. The food was fresh, arrived quickly and was very tasty. Service was excellent. Our favorite was the Spicy Dragon Roll.
There is plenty of free parking.
It was our first visit to the restaurant but we'll definitely be back.

We ordered several dishes and we were very impressed with all of them! The fried rice was the very best I have had, I already can't wait to come back for more. The shrimp tempura appetizer was delicious. It had the perfect batter that had the perfect crunch and flavor. We also had sushi as well. I had cooked rolls as I am pregnant and unable to eat the raw rolls that I would normally have. They were so accommodating with ensuring the cooked sushi was safe for me to eat. My husband had all you can eat and enjoyed it very much. The sushi was fresh with a generous portion of fish with each piece. The service was also great, very friendly and helpful for everything we needed.

Just awful! We ordered $70 for two, these were very small portions, so small that my husband ate a lot after this sushi. We decided to try a new place, we always order from our favorite place. But this was our last time we ordered there! I do not recommend it to anyone!

All you can eat sushi with additional Chinese menu as well. The selection of the all you can eat sushi are huge. The sushi rice is a perfectly done, the ratio between sushi rice and stuffing / fish are perfecto. The fish also fresh. I don't have any problem after eating sushi from this restaurant. The fried rice is really good. The level of service also impeccable. Very happy with the restaurant. Definitely one of the best all you can eat sushi restaurant that I love to go.

I normally don’t do this but - stay away from this place. My husband and I came here on a date night - this restaurant was our first stop of the night and wound up being our last. I ordered chicken teriyaki and a volcano roll, my husband got the all you can eat sushi.
Their gyoza is amazing and set the tone for a great experience. Unfortunately everything that followed was a disaster. The chicken teriyaki was two dry chicken breasts in a bland watery brown sauce, the deep fried rolls were stuffed so full of cream cheese it was like molten lava and it was all you could taste. My husband got sick part way through his raw roll and that was the end of our evening.
As I was trying to clear up our bill, I asked for the Chicken Teriyaki to be removed as I ate one bite of it. The server was very pleasant, but the little man running the establishment started side eying me and seemed to be very angry and borderline hostile. I asked the server if she gets to keep her tips, no they do not, the owner takes the tips and splits them between the server, himself and the cooks. I paid our bill and left with no intention of returning - which is too bad because their Gyoza is amazing.

5 stars for the all you can eat. Especially the lunch all you can eat deal! So cheap for good food. Sushi isn’t top notch but why should it be when it’s $30 or less for all you can eat. It’s still very good food! Portion sizes are great. The fried chicken roll was surprisingly good. The rangoons are heavy on cream cheese and the orange chicken wasn’t the best but those are my only complaints. The mochi and sugar donuts are very good too! Same with the egg rolls. Can’t go wrong with really anything. Definitely a must every once and awhile! Staff is friendly and attentive.

It's an all you can eat restaurant, and it costs about $30 per person(plus tax and food not eaten). The food was phenomenal and was fresh. Not only that, but the service was great as well as the atmosphere. One of my friends, who is vegetarian, was able to actually get a sushi roll. If you are searching for a sushi place, it's an amazing place to go to! :)

The fish had a strange dry texture and it tasted stale. The interior of the restaurant was poorly organized, and the red lighting gave everything a strange, sleepy mood. The tempura was mostly breading, the crab rangoon nothing but sweet cream cheese, and the other menu items nothing worth remembering. Service was decent.
There was a young boy working there (couldn't have been older than 13) who would take the beer of customers who recently left and go into the bathroom to drink it. I understand that sometimes parents will ask their children to help run a shop/restaurant. However, you can at least supervise them a little more.
Edit: Of our two visits to your establishment, my group has not once had a good experience. I accept if what we saw was a misunderstanding. However, if your mission is to put customers first, you shouldn't try to invalidate their experiences. Take the criticism to heart. Do better.

Overpriced, disgusting food. I can make it at home for less than $5, and it would even taste so much better. Same song played for the whole 2 hours I was there, and everything is dirty. Servers and chefs were all stuck up and rude, and didn't bother giving customers their "precious" time. Waste of money, highly don't recommend.
EDIT: Wow, I am certainly baffled by the response. Not only did you say that my experience couldn't have been possible and that I was lying "The chefs and waiters are simple and unpretentious. They serve every guest with heart..We have no conditions or qualifications to be rude or arrogant to customers because our industry does not allow it," but you also said I was the reason for my bad experience. "Of course, sometimes we will encounter difficulties from customers." Never once, did I talk back to the servers here. I treated them with the utmost respect, and was returned with the same arrogance. One thing to bring to notice- all three times I was here, not once was it busy, and each time my experience here was surprisingly worse than the next. Clearly, not only is the customer service in person inadequate, but also online! You say customer feedback promotes your growth, but evidently not- unless you actually take feedback into consideration and actually work towards making customer experience better, instead of calling them liars and blaming them for the reason of their negative experience. Never once will I come back here again, because I may be surprised, like you said. Maybe instead of stale, inedible food, I'll find mold! And I won't even be surprised.
To make sure you clearly understand once again:
Some things to note about their service:
- Waited over 30 minutes, not even in rush hour, for a glass of water and 2 plates. They needed 5 reminders until it finally came.
- They treat you and look down on you as if they don't care about the care they are providing you with at all.
- They either never take your dirty dishes, or they take the food that you haven't even started on without asking, and they walk away so fast you can't even stop them.
- Their attitude is absolutely ridiculous. Not only do they act like they're above you, they also act as if they want to leave-- which I completely understand, but they don't even put in an ounce of effort to please customers.
Second, their food is never consistent.
Their food is either:
- Overly salty
- Uncooked
- Flavorless
- Sour
- Not fresh
Lastly, their ambience isn't the greatest either.
To list some specifics:
- Dirty tables
- Dirty Dishes
- Crumbs, dust, food, and hair on the floors
- Same music played for 3 hours
- Entire place was dark, but not the elegant dark. More like trying to hide the gunk in the restaurant dark.
Overall, my experiences here were all horrible. Not only was their food, service, AND ambience awful, but their food was also extremely overpriced for less than average edible food.
As a critic, I try not to compare restaurants to other restaurants, but this one was probably one of the worst restaurants in Lake County, Illinois. This occurrence has already been updated on my social medias as well as website, and again; I highly advise against coming here for dinner, and with this response, even recommend the reevaluation of this location.

This is our go-to date night restaurant. They have all you can eat sushi and appetizers which is amazing because my partner and I LOVE Japanese food and we have a large appetite and regular plates don't fill us up. If we are in the mood for more than one item then we are able to get it here for $30 all you can eat per person. The chefs are amazingly talented with how quickly they whip up the dishes and the waiters are very respectful and attentive to your needs.
Their food is really, really good also. The crab ragoons are crunchy and hot on the outside, and creamy (not too sweet, not too bland) on the inside. The food tastes like it was freshly cooked, and not microwaved like other restaurants.
The only thing I would say they could improve on is getting updated seating but that does not bother me much.
We are so glad we found this spot, we will be coming back here probably every month for our date night.

I got food delivered, fyi. But everything was amazing, food was still hot and there was A LOT OF FOOD. A lot, I tell you. I got chicken lo mein which was almost 4.5cups and a mango milk tea. The lo mein was super tasty, with well cooked veggie mixed in. Milk tea tasted smooth, slightly sweet (not fake, chemical sweet). My boyfriend got orange chicken, which was also 4.5cups of pure meat and a whole bowl of white rice - still steamy. You get so much food, it's insane.. none of us were able to finish our meals so we had some leftovers the next day. We also got chicken sticks, which tasted great as well - jerked outside and nice chewy chicken inside. Everything packed well, and a lot of sauce provided lol.. Super happy, I am a sucker for Chinese food (not your American-Panda Chinese). I recommend 10000%.

We go here often because the value cannot be beat... $27 (updated 10/23 - now $30 - still an amazing deal)for all you can eat sushi! That includes appetizers, nigiri, Maki, and many specialty rolls. Quite a decent selection for all you can eat.
I'm addition to the amazing value, the fish is typically quite fresh, and the size of the pieces of nigiri are very decent.
If you've eaten a lot of sushi, you can tell when the fish is extremely fresh and when it might not be. *most* of the time I've found the sushi to be very fresh. A couple of times not as much... But never bad.
Service is generally pretty good, when they're busy you might wait a bit for the sushi chef to get your food out, but never an obnoxious wait time, and the atmosphere is fine - nothing special but not bad either.
Basically, if you're hungry, you're craving sushi, and don't want to break the bank, Oishi can't be beat.
If you're looking for higher end experience, you might want to look elsewhere... That's not a knock against Oishi - it just is what it is- affordable, good and unpretentious.

Got the all-you-can-eat sushi which, in my opinion, wasn’t worth the $30. I got a couple rolls and a nigiri; the unagi nigiri was tasty but the rolls were generally alright. Servers were kind and patient. Their menu states that they charge $1 per piece of uneaten food (including rice), so don’t expect to go in and have little samples of multiple rolls unless you’re sharing.

I heard wonderful things about this place. My wife and I love sushi so we decided to try this place. The sushi was awful!!! It was very clear that the sushi was not fresh. It was very fishy. The vegetables that were used in the rolls were not crisp at all. Many of the standard rolls like the soft shell crab were mushy and not crisp. Needless to say I’ve had way better and will not be coming back.

I wish I could say otherwise, but it was genuinely shocking how bland the food was here. Both the general tso chicken and orange chicken were borderline flavorless, and I can say with all sincerity that the general tso chicken was the worst I've ever had - specifically in terms of flavor. I don't know how these recipes could've been tested in the kitchen and then subsequently found to be adequate, even against the lackluster competition in the area.
I can't speak for the sushi, but in my opinion Oishi Sushi Restaurant needs to reformulate their Chinese American dishes in order to incorporate more flavor and fresh ingredients, or simply take them off the menu entirely.

If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, be sure to visit Oishi Sushi and ask for Chen/Shawn! From the moment I walked in, Chen/Shawn greeted me with a warm welcome and made me feel right at home. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, but he also provided me with amazing recommendations for different dishes.
The restaurant itself was spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends. And, if you're on the go, I highly recommend their takeout service. My food was ready in just 10 minutes, and it tasted absolutely delicious.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Oishi Sushi, and I owe it all to Chen/Shawn's excellent service. I can't recommend this place enough!

The sushi was good..neither great nor terrible. They missed bringing out our seaweed salad. The Freud.scallops.abd shrimp should.have been served with spicy mayo but came a soy sauce blend that added no flavor to the bland appetizer. Spring rolls were good. We got a few rolls and Nigri. They tasted good. Overall the service was the biggest downer. If you asked for something extra, it came after you were done eating. Overall the food was good. Service was terrible.

My first time here, and generally I don’t go AYCE sushi because I enjoy high quality low quantity sushi, but I saw the reviews and had to try since it’s super close to me. First, the place is quite busy (this was a Sunday night). The waitress was sweet and attentive. I had the seaweed salad (yum) and hot and sour soup (also yum) the soup had a nice amount of tofu and veggies… it didn’t feel like a “discount” bowl of soup at all.
I got several nigiri, all were great minus the mackerel (tasted waterlogged and spongy) white tuna, salmon and yellowtail were great.
My usual favorite roll is the spicy tuna, but having that as my last roll kinda got me in my feelings (not in a good way) the tuna is clearly mixed with panko and maybe another filler fish. It has the texture of minced raw ground beef. I had to choke it down. However, this wouldn’t keep me from coming back…. I would just be mindful to pick rolls that are not mixed with anything. Usually a spicy tuna roll has the fish and then some spicy additions… and I’m a texture person. If it says “spicy salmon or tuna” more than likely it will be this more dense less fish version. So be mindful. I get it, they need to make money! I’ll be back, just with more understanding of what I enjoy and what I’ll avoid.

It may be just because it’s Christmas but I was highly disappointed with my experience, especially after reading all of the other reviews that made me excited to try this place. The people who were working in the restaurant tonight did not understand English. My husband and I were very patient, even after asking for soy sauce 5 separate times. It was just frustrating not having the sauce we needed to eat our food while it was warm. We did the all you could eat menu for $28.99 but no one ever came back to pick up my second set of selections. It was a horrible experience and not even the fault of the servers (they tried their best to understand what we were asking for). I walked straight to the counter to pay after waiting a good 15min for someone to pick up my order.
For the restaurant and food in general…. The entire time children’s music was playing (Row row row your boat, wheels on the bus, etc.) which did not seem appropriate and made the experience a lot less enjoyable. The sushi roll I had fell apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks. I don’t know if it’s typical for this place but I wasn’t provided soy sauce or a little dish for sauce. The wasabi and ginger was pretty good. I really liked the fried shrimp, gyoza and crab Rangoon.
I will not be coming back. I do not feel I got my moneys worth and it was not an enjoyable experience.

Dec 2022 update: The best items on the AYCE menu are the salmon and eel nigiri, the alaska rolls, and the crab rangoon. The shrimp tempura rolls are also good and have a nice crunch. I noticed on my most recent visit the tuna rolls and tuna nigiri aren't as good as the salmon. The tuna is a bit fibrous and doesnt have the same rich and fresh taste the salmon does. Regardless, the items I mentioned at the beginning of this review are excellent and well worth it! However, I dont think the AYCE will be worth it in the future as I ate too much and hurt my stomach! Maybe next time I'll just order a couple salmon and eel nigiri, a alaska roll and a crab rangoon and that should satisfy my craving!

I'm glad I got to try the sushi from this restaurant. We were seated almost immediately after arriving in a small private nook area. The waiter gave us waters and menus. We ordered off of the AYCE menu and the waiter took our menus and brought them to the sushi chef. He came back shortly thereafter with the appetizers we ordered. After a moderately long but not too long wait, we got our first plates of sushi. I should note that we were a party of 5 and it looks like there was only 1 sushi chef, so all things considered, the wait was reasonable. Here was my first order:
Crab rangoon (the best I've had in years)
Seaweed salad (a necessity, pretty standard)
1 tuna sushi (decent)
2 salmon sushi (good)
1 ylwtail sushi (ok)
1 eel sushi (good)
1 alaska roll (good)
1 sky beauty roll (ok)
1 fashion roll (ok)
I'll start out by saying I liked everything I ordered the first go round, but there were some things I liked more than others. The things I noted above that were good I ordered a 2nd time, I'd get a piece of tuna nigiri again, and I'm glad I tried the things I noted above that were ok, but I wouldn't get them again.
If I were to come back I'd just want to get (multiples of) the things I listed as good above.
All in all a good AYCE sushi experience.

My girlfriend and I got the All-You-Can-Eat. We started off with three rolls of sushi, wrote down our second order, which took them 15 minutes to pick up, then another 20 minutes for them to make and bring to us (might be under staffed?). Overall subpar experience.

Very big selection. The single mochi at the end of the meal is the cherry on top. I left full to the brim-- would definitely return if I lived closer.

The food was good but as soon as I got there I felt unwelcome. I had one person take my order and two other people bring it while seeming as If they didn't even want to talk to me. I understand if they were busy but there were only like two other tables occupied. It felt like I wasn't welcome. Constantly being overlooked while other people were getting regular treatment. I hope that when someone goes there they don't feel as I did.

Sushi was amazing, and the atmosphere was eccentric and some of the silverware was dirty but overall a wonderful place to go

My go to place for all you can eat sushi

Good variety in an all you can eat. Fresh tasting signature rolls and fish. Some side options besides sushi are offered as well. Note: AYCE costs the same for lunch or dinner and the nigiri is served per piece, not in twos like most places.

Does not compare to the Oishi Sushi in Willowbrook and Schaumburg
They have a big all-you-can-eat menu but the food was pretty bland.
I also really disliked the red light in the bathroom. Why not have just a regular soft white bulb?

A fantastic place for all you can eat sushi at a reasonable price. Their small helping of orange chicken and the Chinese donuts are excellent and I have not complaints about any of their rolls or nigiri.

I love coming here to eat all you eat! The owner is really sweet and friendly! When I was pregnant I would come here during breaks a lot and I would want sushi so he went ahead and cooked the rolls for me so I could eat any rolls I wanted without it being raw.

This place, like Toshi in Gurnee, has excellent sushi but this place has other food as well and thee best crab Rangoon that my wife and I have ever had!
Service was slow on Labor Day but the staff count was low and it was a holiday. Normally, they have great service. They are in our top three favorite sushi places.

My husband and I have been coming here for a few years. We came for dinner tonight and they service was terrible we waited 35 minutes just for the appetizers, which some things we ordered were missing. Everything was so slow and we also had our son with us so being there for awhile he started to get fussy. This was a terrible experience and I don't know if we will be back.

It all started when our other sushi place was closed for a holiday. We decided to take out here and bring it home to eat it. When we got home we had the biggest crab Rangoon‘s I have ever seen as a gift in our order (we had spent a little over $100). So we decided to go dine in next time for the all you can eat sushi which started a relationship with this restaurant that we will truly miss as a Navy family moving to a different state. This is our all time favorite restaurant for our family, we absolutely love the staff, we love the sushi, and we overall just enjoy every ounce of our visit every single time that we come here. We will truly miss the waitress and the food!

Really good selection, and very high quality for this price point. Would definitely dine here again, I loved the spicy salmon roll (classic) and my partner particularly likes the Navy roll!

These guys have fantastic rolls and they're a nice size and totally worth the money. Plus it's the sushi place that's open the latest in the Libertyville-ish area. Will definitely be back.

Rice wasn’t cooked all the way in any of the rolls or nigiri, first round of nigiri was warm (raw fish shouldn’t be warm) the plus and reason for 1 star was the crab Rangoons (they are huge and homemade) and the gyoza were really good. Service was so so. Some things we ordered we got and some we never got, some they tried to bring us out extra.

Really good. We did the buffet and they did large portions. Make sure you finish before ordering again. Food left on the plate aka more then two sushi rolls you will be charged a fee. I'd that is the case may be better to order more and take some home. Oh , Good thinking..
