Informal Japanese restaurant serving sushi & hibachi-grilled fare, along with cocktails.
The first time I left the bad review in my life.We came with 4 adults ,3 kids ,The service woman was so rule, she treat the kids so bad,she said the menu not for my son 9 years old except sushi but older kids can order the foods in main menu, then she took out his plate,i was so seriously and told her if no plate how can he eat?then she gave him smaller one ,made him so upset, I must share foods for my son after that and he couldn’t eat much.when she brought soup ,another kids was hungry and tried some ,she stoped them “ honey that is not your soup, you can not eat that is for your mom “ or she said some bad things “ I do not like the kids like this”.They provided 1 linen towel for each person ,I asked can I have more towel paper she said she doesn’t have it ,she can take the toilet paper for me.She almost destroyed the atmosphere, unprofessional, discrimination, unrespect,it was uncomfortable .I feel so bad for my son.The price is so expensive,we still gave the good tip because the chef is professional, fun and when he came make us more relax,,foods is good but it was not worth to pay $400 something while the foods not much and .That is why no customers there only our table even we come on Saturday around 7:15 pm .It is terrible service from the woman. Definitely never come back.

The food is absolutely delicious! The owners and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We have been coming here for over ten years. They remember who we are, be even after we were gone for awhile living in another state. The restaurant is clean. I love their jokes they put together for dinner. The fried rice is our favorite! I highly recommend eating here!

This place will nickle and dime you. For four people one had soup, one noodles and 2 hibachi meals just basic. Over $150 there was a $24 service fee and they don’t offer white rice. Everything is extra charge and each water was $2.00 because they only have bottled. The employee tried to tell us that in the whole state of Illinois no hibachi restaurants can serve white steamed rice. Bullshit she thought we were tourists however we have lived in Illinois before. Super not impressed don’t waste your time or money.

It was the first time there today. Everyone was amazing and the food was delicious. They have been open for so long, wish I had found them sooner! FYI, if you want plain rice, you ask for steamed rice. A lot of the bad reviews below are more than likely a misunderstanding.

Immediately met with disrespectful behavior from the moment we came inside to be sat down. Managers had the worst behavior I’ve ever seen towards customers and also made rude comments during the time we were eating. Because of the disrespect we decided to pay and not tip. Then they started pressing us for a tip even with all disrespectful behavior throughout our time there. Started yelling and cursing at us as we were leaving. Would not recommend. The atmosphere was off the second we entered the building. It felt tense and uneasy. Not kid-friendly

The golden shrimp was insanely horrible. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy. Absolutely 0 flavor in the sauce either. Drenched in oil. Not finishing this meal. Tiny portion (my fault for ordering to-go?) Veggies were good. Fried rice was good! Sushi was ok. I used to love this place but I don't think I'll be coming back.

Took the family and was very disappointed. The kids meals did not include rice noodles or vegetables. No tap water option and the service was trash. No soup or salad included with the dinners . Nearly $200 and we all left hungry. 6 pm on a Friday night and the place was empty. I now know why. Tasty sushi, but you can do better elsewhere. We won’t be back.

We walked in and there was no one to greet us on a Saturday evening. We walked out and should have kept walking. We ended up going back in. Table was sticky and only water option was a bottle. We ordered the dinner for two. Welp, got the bill and it was twice the cost of what we ordered. Up charge for the filet, that we were talked into. No appetizer shrimp. No yum yum sauce. Charged for fried rice? Wait what? Was there even an option? Nope. Then as others have mentioned the service fee of 20%. They must recognize the level of service and figured it was the best way to get tips. Had there been an option, definitely not 20% worthy. Lesson learned.

Welp…. Not going back there. When we walked in they asked us if we want to sit at hibachi table or regular table. Then the waitress came up and very loudly said you don’t want to sit at hibachi table we were like no. She kept insisting on sitting there. We were still like no we want a table. When I tired to order milk for my toddler she gave me a story about not having milk anymore because no one orders it until they throw it away. Then she kept coming back every minute to ask if we’re ready to order so she took my husbands order even though I wasn’t ready. Then she came back and rushed me on my sushi order. When my husbands got to the table first she said you have to wait. Yours not ready yet. When she came back with mine. We had wiped off the table with a baby wipe so my daughter could eat from the table. She said oh my god that’s not sanitary we said we wiped it off. Then she said I have a big foot ball plate I give to baby’s. I got my tea and it tasted like lake water. When we got our check there was a surprise service fee that was $17 when I asked her about it she said it was for the staff and that we didn’t have to tip.the waitress also mentioned the mess on the floor from my 15 month old. So here’s the problem 1 if I chose to sit at a table then let me sit at the table 2 don’t place our tables order with out everyone’s order my husband got his food 10 mins before me 3 if you offer something to customers how about to tell the customers about that thing before it’s to late 4 don’t try to be sneaky and charge us 20% service fee and say oh it’s in fine print on the menu. That entire experience was worth $2 and we paid $105 for two sushi rolls 1 water 1 coke 1 hot tea and 1 Hibachi meal. We were the only ones in there I felt like they were trying to milk all the money from us they could. So avoid.

We went Saturday night around 5:30. The place was empty except for one family. We were greeted at door and sat at a sticky table. We ordered food and it was okay the waitress never checked on us or brought our food. Eventually the sushi chef brought it while waitress and family swearing loudly at center of restaurant eating. The entire experience was just yucky. The chef wrote in his tip. What??? Trust your instincts if you go there and leave. It was an experience to remember. Eww.

DON’T DO IT! Wish I’d have read reviews first. No water available unless you want to purchase it. 20% service charge that there is zero warning of anywhere in the restaurant (I’d have walked out). When I asked about it I got a sob story of how that’s how they pay their employees and they can’t keep staff. Not sure why that’s the customers problem. Sounds like the cost of doing business. If you can’t afford to pay your staff appropriately then don’t have a restaurant. I hope my 20% service fee was worth losing a customer forever. I feel totally taken advantage of.

This is my favorite hole in the wall restaurant in Gurnee. Best fried rice ever! I usually get the vegtable hibachi and fried rice but the fillet mignon and shrimp is delicious too. They make their own salad dressing and sauces so everything is guaranteed freshness. The hibachi was an experience! They are brilliant with their skills and you can taste it in their flavors. We had a great time and stop there Everytime we are in the area. I recommend this for big parties or just a date night or friend night.

I personally don’t ever type up reviews but the waitress which is actually the owner is so unbelievably rude. Like everyone else has said, the cooks are absolutely amazing and so sweet. The way the lady is so openly rude is amazing to me. Yes, the food is good but her attitude only is so bad that i will never be eating there again. I know that sounds really overdramatic, but i promise it’s that bad.

The food was reasonable, but nothing impressive. The lobby area was about 20 years outdated. I asked for a glass of water and was charged for a generic bottle of water for $2.00. I would rather go to Panda Express and ask to watch my food being cooked in front of me. It would be just as entertaining and cheaper.

We personally loved the Fried Rice and Vegetables. The steak was tender and cook to our standards. We were a party of six and didn’t feel rushed out at all. We did get up charged on one drink, but my husband was fine with it. And yes I will agree everything was extra fried rice etc… And yes the water was from a bottle and the soda was from a can, but I like it that way because sometimes these well know restaurants out there give you water and it taste horrible, so I’m glad it was bottled you know what you were getting. Overall the experience was great and we will try again.

The chef was really nice. My family of 4 enjoyed the show he put on. We ordered a steak and shrimp hibachi, a steak & chicken, and 2 kids steak hibachis. My husband had 2 Miller lights and I had 2 "mai tais" they were pink so idk what it was. Somehow that added up to $200??? I was so shocked to learn of a $33 Service charge to pay the chef and bussers but there was only 2 people in the whole building??? We will never be back there. They say they have low prices but they are outrageous! They charge you extra for vegetables when that should be included?? So confused. we got robbed. STAY FAR AWAY!!!

We came in on a Saturday at 6 pm and there wasn't a single patron inside. It was super dark inside. Ive been at this location before, and again there was barely anyone there. However the f[d was very good I will say.
The hostess asked us to come back at 7 pm for dinner as they had parties reserved for 6. We returned at 6 and a hibachi table wasn't ready. It took over 10 min for the hostess to take our drink order. Then it took the hostess another 10 minutes to return with drinks. The hostess was at the table next to is for a considerable amount of time chatting. So by the time our drinks came, then we decided to go elsewhere.

We were there at 6pm, not a single person in the place. That should of been a sign. It was 1 adult and 2 kids. They charge for everything, didn't ask if we wanted fried rice just gave it to us and charged $3.95 each. Didn't have water had to buy bottled water, which was Costco brand for $2 each. Then add 20% gratuity to the bill and asked for more. Somehow the bill was $125. The hibachi chef was really nice but then to end the dinner the server wanted to talk to us about covid for a solid 5 minutes. All in all would not recommend.

Honestly the chef was the best thing going for this place, very courteous and made us feel at home. The server on the other hand was pushy and I overheard her say some HIGHLY questionable comments to another group in which she mentioned ethnicity and her reason for mentioning that stuff was complete BS and made no sense. Also, a "service fee" was charged, not sure if that's their way of fishing for a second tip. Felt like we were being nickel and dimed.

If I could I would rate this 1/4 a star. If you are traveling to see family or anything please avoid this place. They scam you based on your appearance. From the pictures you would think it’s a beautiful little hibachi place… you’re sadly mistaken. The staff is rude, they rush taking your order only to get it wrong. They charge over $3per can soda or bottle of water. You would think there would be a set price for everything that gets rang in on your receipt but there’s a handwritten surcharge after the rang in items that is inconsistent. For my husband and I we paid almost 11$ extra on top of our bill and we both got the cheapest meal on the menu and still paid $70. They have random entertainment charges. The food was mediocre to say the least. The sauces they serve with the hibachi were watery which is weird because white sauce is usually thicker and theirs tastes like coleslaw juice. The place was completely empty when our party arrived. The ventilation systems they have are spray painted black to hide the grime. The only part of the experience we even enjoyed was that the chef was a little comical from time to time. The server was not very attentive. Save your money and go somewhere else. I would have rather ate at fast food joint.

This place has phenomenal food, but everything else is a disaster. We had a party of 10 they didn’t give the right food to some people or gave them a quarter of what other people had they were out of almost every drink we asked for including soda they couldn’t make a strawberry margarita cause they were out of tequila, but offered up a Long Island ice tea to the tune of $12 that had tequila in it!
We didn’t understand that we asked for a glass of water for my three-year-old grandson and they said we only serve bottled water because it was too much to run back-and-forth. If we wanted refills wouldn’t give anybody at the table a glass of water and they charged us $3 for it it’s Kirkland water for god sake what does that cost $4-$5 a case??? The water was warm asked for ice we were told we’d have to pay for the ice and that if we brought his yeti in she said they would charge us for bringing in our own drink hello he’s 3!!
my daughter graduated college with her BSN we brought a cake I asked if they could bring it out to us after dinner she said yeah, no problem failed to tell me that them bringing it out to us we were going to be charged a six dollar entertainment fee and charged us $10 for plates and forks They included the gratuity right off the bat, which was over $100 and she had the audacity to ask for an additional tip because it had to be split four ways. Well, I only had the hibachi grill chef and a waitress so who are the other two people she’s giving the money too I just thought it was tacky that they would even ask us for additional tip money.if they let us determine the amount of the gratuity we would have left more than 20% instead of the 18% she added on!
No wonder why the place was so empty. The food was great but would never go back there again they even charged us $10 for 10 paper plates and plastic forks I said why can’t we just have regular plates and forks she responded oh I would have to charge additional anyway because now I have to the dishwasher really??? And we even left the staff almost a half of cake!
The lighting was absolutely horrible had to use cell phones flashlight to read the menu.
Utterly ridiculous!! Like I said food was good the chef was great but all 10 of us won’t be going back there anytime soon like never.!!!

Never going back to this place again. I’ve eaten here from time to time over 10 years now. The last visit was fare most the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We had an evening reservation for my dad’s birthday. I had a few questions regarding the menu since it has been a while but the owner’s wife (our waitress) was very rude. I was cut off every time I asked a question. Then later she sarcastically tells our table someone else should’ve order because they do a quicker job and are better at ordering. We also asked for hot/warm water for an elderly. Our waitress told us they don’t serve warm/hot water but offered use tea. I’m thinking because of surcharge. It’s not that we don’t want hot tea but not everybody wants caffeine late night. Before I could respond to her, she then cuts me off before I could ask another question and concluded with that and left. The whole service felt very rushed. When we were leaving we were talking among our group and didn’t hear what she was saying. Then all of a sudden she shouted, “I’m trying to say bye! Are you guys deaf??” that was the last straw for me. Never going back and do not recommend this place.

I was very disappointed. It was pretty expensive for fairly small portions. When the bill came there was a service charge for more than $30 (there were 5 in our party). I could not find anything as to why we had it. The party of 3 near us also had it but it was a little less. It felt as though they tacked on whatever they could. No glasses of water but you could buy a bottle of water for the price of a full case at the store or pay $3 for one can of soda. You would think rice came with the meal but no, it is extra and they assume you want it so don't even ask and then charge you.
Visited 2 years ago
Food was alright, but they charged my party of 5 a $35 "service fee", which they did not tell us about. White rice was also not an option they asked, it was automatically fried which proved to be an issue for my party and said rice was also crunchy. Vegetables were undercooked, and our chef was clearly not trained and dropped knives multiple times. There's no free water, only bottled water which costs more than a fountain drink (??why..) which was almost $3 for you to get a can of soda and a glass with ice. There was also no copy of the receipt for the customers, they kept all receipts. A soup and salad were failed to bring out to someone in my party for about 10 minutes after everybody else had gotten theirs. Said soup had no taste, and the salad wasn't very good in general. Not necessarily trashy service, but the ambiance and vibe was very off. Save yourself, do not eat here for it is a waste of money and time.

Two of us stopped in for sushi and we were seated. They then told us they weren’t serving sushi, which was the whole point in going. We decided to stay and order off the menu. Once our food came half of it was burnt, otherwise the food was average. They also nickel and dime you for everything. It was $112 for two of us to get hibachi lunch. I am not opposed to spending money on GOOD food, but I would not recommend spending that money on this food. The waitress also made several comments about how much food we ate, which I find unprofessional. Will not be going back.

Entertaining Make sure your whole party is there at once to they will not start your meal until the whole party is at the table be aware of service fee no need to tip the cook or chef They automatically charge a service fee ...sticker shock. Everything's so separate bottled water drinks fried rice or has a separate charge I'm a $50 for two meal came up to $90. And that was just a basic steak and shrimp now Lobster and everything else is just no $30 charge.

A little paint on the peeled walls is a simple way to tell customers. "I value your experience here." With this said, the food may be delicious here. We did not stay long enough to eat, a heated disturbance with an unhappy customer there caused us to flee. Beware of their ala carte approach to hibachi. All typical sides expected with hibachi (rice, noodles, vegetables) include an extra fee. There is an additional fee in partaking of a hibachi tableside chef. $30. Expect to be nickle and dimed for a glass of water. That will not be complementary for their customers. Those peeled walls forshadow how valued your experience will be to them.

Very friendly employee when calling to make the reservation, we had party of 5 at 615. When we started to order, the waitress told us there is no sushi because they only have 1 chef and have 3 tables to cook for. One of our main reasons of going there was for sushi. There was no mention of this when we called. We ordered combo dinners and was never given our desserts. Soda is can only, water is water bottles only and you get charged per bottle/ can. From ordering to cooking to leaving, we felt very rushed, 1st bill was not ours that was brought to us, then when we did receive our actual bill, items that were not ordered were on the bill and the total including (service charge) was already added. The service charge was 20% of the total bill including the tax. And then still expected a tip on top of that. The chef was amazing and deserves so much better. We were very disappointed overall with our experience with the waitress, charges and lack of communication on hidden fees and what was actually available to eat and drink. The food was good, scallops, shrimp, steak, veggies, fried rice and golden sauce.

By far the ABSOLUTE WORST hibachi I have ever had. My husband and I try hibachi every time we travel and this has got to be the bottom of the bucket. The food was terrible - rice was HARD, portions were tiny and the sauces were straight out of a bottle.
On top of that it was the most expensive one. They don’t offer a cup of water because of the pandemic and on the menu it says free refills for sodas, but they bring you cans instead.
Additionally, don’t be fooled, the friend rice is $3 extra PER PERSON… yes the crunchy, overcooked, tasteless fried rice and they took it upon themselves to add on a 20% service charge to our bill.
I would never ever recommend this place to anyone… unless your dog is starving to death and needs scraps to eat.
Good luck!

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS TERRIBLE HORRIBLE NO GOOD VERY BAD RESTAURANT!
Visited 3 years ago
We've lived here over 30 years, this place used to be great, unfortunately it seems like this place has fallen on hard times. We walked in at 630pm to a restaurant with 2 people in it one host/ server and one chef. The place seemed so dark that they couldn't afford to turn the lights on. We asked for water and they charge you 2 dollars for Kirkland bottles, that is the only option for water they have which is unheard of in ANY restaurant but fine. The server Sue was completely obtrusive and flustered saying their phones and internet were down. I tried to split a kids meal between my two toddlers but was told there would be a 6 dollar fee added to an already 12 dollar meal that apparently only came with the chicken itself. We were charged extra on the kids meal for fried rice and an additional cost for the vegetables. The chef Benny was amazing and I feel really bad that he has the misfortune of working here, he should highly consider taking his talents elsewhere where he could make much more money. My daughter who is 5 made it very well known that it was her birthday however the server made zero attempt to give her the "free" birthday sherbert that is listed on the menu however in pretty sure that we would have gotten charged for it. The check came and a 30 dollar service charge was added to the menu. When we asked about it the server Sue said it was written on the menu. When we check it says that a service charge will be added to all hibachi meals however there is no mention of what this service fee is for or for how much the service fee is. When we asked why this wasn't brought to our attention she said well you could have asked. I have been in the service industry for 15 years I have never experienced such a horrendous experience in a restaurant where the food was actually good. She took our card it took her 20 minutes (this is not an exaggeration) to run our card. When she came back with it for us to sign she stood there monitoring us signing the slip. My father finally said can we have some space. And she gave us an attitude saying well you said you were in a hurry....I said you are hovering unnecessarily. I was appalled I would never dream of being rude to a server as a server myself but this was just an outrageous experience.

Good service, fun service , a bit on the expensive side though. Kinda dead on a Tuesday but perfect for family birthdays!

This receipt is for 2 of us. We were seated at the grill, without asking if we wanted a table or grill. We didn't think anything about that, as we've never been charged to sit at the grill anywhere. I asked for a soda, and glass of water. Waiter refused to bring a glass of water, and charged me $2.00 for a bottled water. No one could tell us what the "FM" or "Sake is on the bill, and they refused to remove the $4.95, $3.50 & $3.50 for it.
As if $104 wasn't enough, they charged us a "covid upcharge" of $20.80, because we sat at the grill. "Gas is very expensive now", they explained. Then said, that is not a tip, so please tip your server separately. I asked the waiter to explain things, he could not. I asked the guy at the counter, he could not. I asked why we werent told about a "covid upcharge", he said it is just a thing they do. So $150.00 later, we learned that this isn't our place. When I can go to Tsukasa or Honada and get a much better meal, for less money, I think we'll stick to that.
The interior is very run down. Very unclean, grease all over the ceiling, and the walls look like they haven't been painted in years.
The female manager, or owner, was absolutely embarrassing. We walked in, we were the only customers. The employees were working, getting things ready for the evening. She came out, and rather than greet us, she screamed at the employees to get up front and handle us.
I'd love to recommend any part of this place, but after almost 2 weeks of thinking on this before reviewing, I sincerely hope you'll just read this, and choose to go elsewhere.

Amazing food. Best fried rice ever too. Open when most other hibachi places are closed (between 2 and 5). Our kids love that they still do the fire show on the grill (unlike e.g. Benihana).

Took my wife and three small children (8 and under) for lunch and was charged $180.00 for the whole meal; 3 kids meals and 2 adult meals. There’s a semi hidden $30 “service fee” (revealed at checkout) for the hibachi chef, no tap water so you have to pay $2.00 per bottle of water, $2.75 per 12oz can of soda, and $2.95 per cup of apple juice.
The chef was incredible and the family loved the food, but the prices are way over the top and with all the price gouging going on I don’t think this business will be around for long without some reasonable changes.

We did the hibachi.. Food was good, but way over priced for such small portions...Disappointing. We won't be going back.

Went in by myself for a dinner, the lady behind the counter called me a man, the proceeded to moan and groan when I said one. I asked if there was a problem, She said “Really”! Then proceeded to walk to the back and say out loud…”Geez everyone comes at the same …… time…” totally lost a good sale. What a shame.

Horrible takeout at insane prices. There was hair in my food and it was honestly the worst I’ve had… ever. Hopefully it was just an off night. But WOW. $110 dollars for two meals we could barely eat. We will not be back.

When you see 1 star rating that means DONT GO TO THIS PLACE or you will go home with empty pocket… they charged too much even charged $2 for a 16.9 oz of water and also the ambience is not that great, now if you wanna try and experience what we experienced thats up you… its a saying “to see is to believe”… i hope there is a Zero star to rate this place…

Beware of ghost surcharge that is handwritten on bill. 3 dollars per drink from a can and no free refills. Had to remind hostess that deserts came with the combination meals. And she had the audacity to ask if we still wanted it. Place was completely empty which I understand why now. 2 adults 2 teens and a 4year old. Over $200 for lunch without alcohol. Not too happy.

Good food, got the $49.95 dinner for 2 didn’t order any alcoholic drinks, 1 iced tea $2.50, 1 soda $2.50 and 1 water $2.50 , no free refills ,they also added automatic tip of $29.00 and verbally asked for more of a tip, so my total bill was $86.00!!! NEVER going back and a definite DO NOT recommend cannot believe they even charged for water!

Over priced, for food to be cooked in front of you is extra 27 dollar charge, bad service, great cook though. You don't get an option for rice they automatically give you fried rice and charge you for it..extra charges again!!

The food was good and the chef was phenomenal but the service could of been a little better also at the End they do not separate bill people don't carry cash they have debit cards and they would not separate the bill.. I don't mind a gratuity but in the end several people end up paying quite a bit more than what their actual bill was. I feel it is the cashiers job to take care of that. Plus everything was separate instead of a price for a full meal. Which I didn't like soup or salad . The drinks were good but u had to pay for shot plus juice or whatever you added to cocktail. That's terrible a drink cost you $10.50 I can buy a whole bottle for that.

Great food, but horrible customer service. You have to pay for each drink. And it's pretty expensive

My family and I (2 children 10, and 9)were in the mood for sushi and the closest open place was Ichiban. We walked into an empty Ichiban restaurant and the hostess asked if we had reservations? I replied with "no we are walking in I didn't know we needed reservations but the restaurant is empty". All I got back was "I'm Sorry". I had been rejected before at other restaurants for being over booked but never from an empty restaurant. My 9 year old son as we walked out asked " how do they make money that way". If I could give 0 stars I would but I needed to start somewhere. This makes no sense!

Should've know when the hostess was rude over the phone that we should've went elsewhere. Made us leave a $50 deposit on our table and then said they didn't charge it when they did. Gave us a hard time when we didn't order they way they wanted us to and then charged us an additional "$50 hibachi"charge and added things we didn't order to the bill.
Charged me close to $300 dollars because they didn't like the way we ate at their restaurant. Told us that we were causing them problems because they held the hibachi for our group because it was "busy" when one was empty and the other 2 had groups of 3-4 people at them. Argued with me when I called them out on overcharging me.
Overall, never been treated so poorly nor just been blatantly ripped off because they expected us to act differently.

We decided to try this sushi/hibachi restaurant, as Yuri was closed (Monday) and Hayashi was at capacity. The hostess was very unfriendly. When asking for water, it was presented that only bottles for purchase were available due to Covid, yet ice tea was being served from a pitcher. She was also quite rude to the table across from us, who simply wanted descriptions for the common rolls. The sushi was overpriced and very small portions. We usually are full with four rolls, but left hungry. Don't bother with this place and stick with Yuri or Hayashi!

Tried habachi, staff were friendly but didn't like the fact they tried to force me to purchase a combination meal for my daughter when I only wanted a single meat option and tried to justify it by saying because I went on a particular day it was some policy, BS!
Also I didn't enjoy the food very much, rice was under cooked and thus hard.
Portions were small and prices were high.

Honestly, if I could give negative stars, I would. Let me start by saying it is really too bad, because the food was pretty good - not the best, but pretty good and the chef was good too. The real issue is with management and the "owner" of the place. Two young people went to the restaurant and received their bill. They paid with a gift certificate they received as a Christmas gift. When they received the receipt, they noticed extra money was added to the bill for "gratuity", even though they had already added a generous tip. We have been calling the management trying to get out "gratuity" back and have been lied to ("the check is in the mail") and told we need to check our mail more often! The management of this place are greedy, dishonest people. Avoid at all costs!

Absolutely horrid experience. We arrived 4 minutes early to our reservation to a rude hostess telling us we were too early to be seated. Waited over a hour to even get drinks and then were informed that we had to buy $2 water bottles if we wanted to drink. Multiple employees were screaming at each other and the police even arrived shortly after. Extremely unprofessional staff. The venue seemed run down and dirty. The food was just okay. Do not waste your time, book a reservation literally anywhere else.

Went here for my birthday dinner. Scheduled my reservation 3 days in advance, confirmed reservations the day of. Arrived 5 min early to an aggressive hostess. After we were seated it was an hour until we were even offered drinks. Chef and server were nice and attentive but they charged us for water on a nearly 350 dollar ticket....

Margarita was weak even after asking if they had put any tequila in it to start waitress brought an additional shot. Sub par for the price they charge.

Their specialty rolls are very good. Their customer service is non-existent. Had a pickup order mistakenly grabbed by their delivery. They didn't remake the order and had me wait until they could retrieve the order back from delivery. They made no effort to make the situation right. Hot food was lukewarm at best.

We didn’t make it very long here. When the server asked us what we wanted for drinks she added “and let’s hurry it up, because they are pouring in.” She seemed annoyed to take care of us. Then, although we had only just sat down with the menu, she asked us what we wanted to eat. When we replied that we didn’t know yet, she waved her hand at us (as if to say “whatever”) and stormed off. We decided she was maybe too overwhelmed to take care of us and we left. At this point, we were one of only 4 tables in the entire restaurant.

We have great experience with different hibachi restaurants, so me and my family decided to try this place over the weekend. The menu is slightly overpriced but nonetheless we were hungry and we heard this place was not bad at all. We ordered several of their dinner specials which was steak, chicken, and shrimp. The quantity of the food was mediocre, we were still hungry after we ate. But what was the most concerning for us was the service, I've never had the worst experience for me and my family. I will never go back nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone I know. We ended up spending almost $300 on dinner that was not fulfilling at all.

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT!!! I placed a take out order and showed up after the 29 minute wait. The person behind the desk then told me he did not cook the food and can't because he doesn't know how to work the register.

Ordered $45 worth of sushi to go. They only gave me one soy sauce packet and no Wasabi. Sushi was very poor quality and very small potions for such a high price! Tasted "old". Couldn't finish as I couldn't stand the taste, and was afraid of getting sick. rice used just fell apart as well. Overall, this is just extremely sub-standard for both quality and customer service. NOT recommended!!

I’ve eaten at some of the best sushi restaurants in the country and I would have to say that this one definitely met my expectations. I ordered spicy baby octopus, 911 rolls, the crazy rolls and so much more. The owner even did something special for my daughter’s birthday and put it in the bag for her. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I reserved a table at 730. My food order was taken at 830. I understand that today is a holiday and it gets busy. What I don't understand is why the host/manager is openly disrespecting her staff in front of customers. I don't understand why a member of my group was rudely interrupted multiple times regarding ordering her food. To top if off, the host has been telling at one of her waitresses for an hour. The food here is great the cooks for a good job however the manger and front end runner has no idea how to run a restaurant.

The best hibachi grill in Lake County. I have eaten at pretty much every Hibachi place around. It's not the flashiest place but the cooking is top notch. My familes favorite restaurant.
Also I'm the only person in my family that likes spicey. The chef has accommodated that in ways I never considered. Added Siracha to my steak and rice during the cooking. Chopped up jalepenos, salt, pepper, and put in a dish with soy sauce. Fantastic!
Also try some golden sauce in your rice. It's fabulous.

Went to this restaurant last night for a birthday. Everything was fine in the beginning, but went down hill from there. The service was terrible, food was awful, never was asked if we wanted more to drink, I had to go up to the bar for more drinks, they couldn’t get the orders correct. When it came time for the bill, they messed that up also, and added gratuity that was charged as a service fee. For 2 people they charged $15. After leaving, we were getting upset stomachs. Woke up not feeling well. Stay away from there if we want terrible service and food.

That stated, the service here was fantastic! Susie, Lori, John, and the most excellent chef for the evening perform their duties with utmost passion! They smile and they care! They are all very personable and we truly enjoyed dining there this evening!
The food tasted fresh and excellent! I've been to multiple hibachi grills and the service and food take the cake!
