Centrally located in Chicago's West Loop, Nobu Chicago playfully blends elements of old world Japanese and new world utilitarian.
Came here for brunch with friends and was disappointed in the food. Service was great and the location and atmosphere were nice. However, the food was not special for how much it costs. Average sushi, cold breakfast (egg and hash brown) sandwich, and ok lamb. The best dishes were probably the salads. Overall, not impressed considering the huge amount of incredible restaurants surrounding Nobu that could be had at the same price or less.

Just had dinner at Nobu Chicago, and honestly, the food was fantastic! The flavors were spot on, and every dish had that signature Nobu flair. The black cod was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the sushi? Absolute perfection. I mean, it’s Nobu, so you expect great food, and they definitely delivered.
That said, the bar service was a bit backed up. We had to wait longer than usual for drinks, which was a bummer, but honestly, the staff was super nice about it. You could tell they were doing their best to keep up with the crowd, so I wasn’t too bothered. Plus, once the drinks did arrive, they were top-notch.
Overall, a great experience—just maybe a little patience is needed if the bar is busy. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely amazing!!! This is one of my favorite places to eat while visiting Chicago. Awesome food drinks & staff. Have drinks upstairs roof top before dinner. If you go with a large group I would recommend eating family style. Let the waiter bring out the best and pass it around.

Tried their brunch buffet and tbh, wasn't very impressed by the limited offerings. There were only 3 types of fish offered, the same for both the sushi and rolls. The fish was fresh though and of good quality. Carving station only had 1 meat that was a bit too overdone, some roasted potatoes, and dinner rolls. The ceviche was just plain awful. So sour and it seemed like they forgot the salt and sugar altogether. Besides those main items, there were a couple of salads that were actually pretty good, shrimp cocktail that needed a little something more in the sauce, and some typical brunch items like waffles that were hard and french toast that was just toast with a spread and berries on top. The dessert table had a nice variety but nothing to write home about.

Almost flawless experience. Food can be absolutely delightful, service was mostly excellent, and the ambiance is lovely. Though most will come expecting to see a hefty bill, some items on the menu are comically overpriced. There was one dish that featured the equivalent of two pieces of nigiri with salmon and the charge was $50 for that dish of likely less than 100 calories of food. There are also maki rolls like the Baked Crab roll that are $28 or more and you get six tiny pieces. Just expect your bill to absolutely balloon when dining here especially compared to other similar restaurants. Id almost go in for the Tasting Menu instead of ordering a la carte. You’ll probably get a better value.
Also the reviews about the serving staff assistants trying to clear plates literally while you’re picking food off the plate is true and obnoxious. Someone has to tell management to get them to not badger every table 20x per meal. Its disruptive.
We definitely recommend getting the Cod if nothing else!

Food: The food is prepared to be fresh and the sashimi was well served with the richness in fatty but tender. The miso cod lettuce had a crunch coating which at first is an interesting texture but the cod was delicious with sweet savory buttery flavor.
Service: our server was so sweet, she made sure we were warm and had great photos to take for our first time visiting. She just had a friendly demeanor than all the services we had this weekend visiting
Ambiance: it’s high end experience that I feel most people have raved about and I can see why. It’s a rather intimate feeling to sit and have an higher quality experience. The rooftop was amazing to see the view of the city lights and be warmed up by the lamp as the night goes
Location accommodation: it’s nearby the Fulton market which is convenient to walk by

My family came for the Saturday brunch buffet. They have already removed the nigiri from the buffet. All the brunch items were cold. The meat from the carving station was well done.
The crispy rice was good. And the desserts were ok. The shrimp cocktail was pretty good? I’m struggling to think of the better items. But you’re probably not going to a Nobu buffet for crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, and some decent desserts.
The line to the buffet was very long. The staff replenish the buffet by squeezing between people in the line which is very unpleasant.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

Overall pretty good experience, a little overpriced but not too shabby. The seats along the front windows could use a little more space in between the two tops, I felt rather close to the party next to us. Service was good but I would’ve appreciated if she had bussed more often being that the table was so small. Now the food was good but was very disappointed when I received my Ribeye truffle butter cold, seemed like it was sitting on the window for a while, regardless the truffle was great and really soaked into the steak but again it was just cold. I know that it could have been replaced but I’d rather leave an honest review, on top of that, while the wagyu dumplings were great my second round of them weren’t as flavorful, seemed like they had less chili oil or sauce. Drink wise, my whiskey/bourbon sidecar was amazing, my partner didn’t enjoy her lychee martini as much but that’s preference. I will say the deserts were pretty tasty the cheesecake was definitely my favorite but the whiskey cappuccino was pretty close, unfortunately the chocolate cake fell short compared to the other two, it tasted like any other chocolate cake I could get at a supermarket.

Yeah not worth the price or the time it takes to eat.
Hot food came out cold… fish didn’t taste fresh. Drinks took forever to come out and to reorder. They’re fast to clear the food, but not to bring it. Truly middle of the road sushi.
They push the “we’ll make a custom menu for you based on your tastes” likely to just make it a faster and easier for the many wait staff but not because they are good at creating custom orders.
They’ve gotten way too big for their britches.
Update: we were asked at the beginning of the dinner if we were celebrating anything special tonight. We shared it was a table member’s birthday. It is now the end of the dinner and not a candle in sight. A little sad.

Staying at the Nobu hotel and decided to finally check out the restaurant during Happy Hour. It is a limited menu but you get to sample different things at a discounted price.
The ambiance is warm. The waiters are attentive. I ordered the lychee martini and wagyu dumplings. And let me tell you, the way the dumplings melt into your mouth, OH! EM! GEE!. I will most definitely be coming back.

We spent over $300 for an awful experience. All of the items we received were cold. We tried to manage without complaining but the cold steak was the last straw. Everything we were served was not hot even if it was a “hot dish”. I like the temperature of my food hot.

I’ve been dining at Nobu for over five years, and it continues to be an unparalleled experience. From the ambiance to the service and, of course, the extraordinary cuisine, everything is consistently outstanding. Every visit is a reminder of why Nobu has become one of my all-time favorite places to dine.
The dishes I’ve come to love are nothing short of exceptional. The tuna crispy rice is an absolute must-try; the texture of the crispy rice paired with the melt-in-your-mouth tuna is simply perfection. The baked crab roll brings a delightful richness that satisfies every time, and the yellowtail jalapeño—whether in sashimi form or rolled up—is a flawless balance of delicate flavor with just a hint of heat. These are the kinds of dishes that keep you coming back, craving that specific flavor and quality you can’t find anywhere else.
Desserts and drinks are also highlights at Nobu. While they always have something creative and unique, the Lady Grey cocktail used to be my absolute favorite. Its balance and depth were unlike anything I’d had before, and it’s truly missed now that it’s been discontinued. Despite that, the mixologists at Nobu never fail to impress; they’re always ready to suggest something equally delightful to try, making every visit a fresh experience.
Nobu isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left. After five years of visits, I can confidently say that each time feels just as special as the first, and that’s a rare quality for any restaurant to achieve.

Nobu—what can I possibly say that hasn’t already been said? The place is, of course, phenomenal, but only if you’re prepared to part ways with a small fortune. We indulged in just a mere morsel of the yellowtail jalapeño—an absolute marvel of flavor, a true testament to the culinary gods. Their salads? Nothing short of divine. Now, the lobster tempura roll—good, yes, but dare I say, a whisper shy of the transcendence I was led to expect. Perhaps I was expecting my soul to ascend with each bite? One can only dream.

Only my second time here. My first time was pre-opening, and the staff seemed a little nervous. This time however, was great. Visited on a Sunday night (9/29) and the host was super great. Furniture is a little worn by now, but that's to be expected. Sat on a couch lounge table. The view is fantastic, but not the only rooftop lounge with a similar view.
Prices here are reasonable. I highly recommend the A5 wagyu. It's $38/oz. at 4oz. min. I believe? Nice to treat yourself. Presentation was beautiful, and they had a pretty great food runner. Lots of healthful food options here.
The only thing is, if this were a 10pt. scale rating, I'd give Nobu about a 9...only because there's better rooftops in the city. The atmosphere here is a little less fun and pizazzy, but great for a little more tranquility.

Absolutely stunned in the worst way possible. The restaurant host was completely dismissive. She did say a single word to me and my husband. I greeted her, let her know we had a reservation, and asked if there was still space for us. All with no verbal response from her. After being asked to sit in a very tight space despite many open tables, my husband and I choose to sit at the bar. The bar staff did deliver the exceptional customer service we anticipated from Nobu. They were friendly and delivered great drinks. Unfortunately, we left after one drink as the kitchen refused to serve GF omakase. Overall, this was a highly disappointing experience. We have been to other Nobu restaurants and this experience was simply bad compared to what we anticipate.

If you’re thinking Nobu, the answer is no…boo.
I had high expectations for Nobu Chicago, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short. From the start, the hostesses were unfriendly and didn’t even bother to smile or make us feel welcome. We requested to be seated in the shade, but despite there being options, we weren’t accommodated.
To make matters worse, two of our meals had hair in them—an absolute deal breaker for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. Needless to say, it was unappetizing and unacceptable. Given the poor service and the hygiene issues, I won’t be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this location.

We went here for lunch. The food was fresh. The server was attentive and took our order right away. I did not like that they come so fast to take away your plates even when you're eating. That's very rude and uncalled for. We had to tell them NO 3-4 times until they got the message. The restaurant is very clean from inside and staff is very respectful but not in that great neighborhood. VERY dangerous part of West loop. A lot of crime and very very different socioeconomic status around. Good luck at night time.

WORST experience ever!!!
It took us 3 hours for the Omakase. After the 3rd dish, the wait was FOREVER, and it came out with peanuts, even though I clearly mentioned we have a nut allergy.
After the 4th dish, I had to wait almost 30 minutes for the 5th dish—duck—that was cold, dry, and hard to eat because there was no knife or fork provided. 🍴
The 5th dish was Halibut, and it was the worst Halibut ever—cold, dry, and overcooked. The server told us it was the last hot dish, but it wasn’t hot at all.
At the end of the meal, they asked us to pick whatever dessert we wanted. We chose the bento box, but they gave us the wrong thing, again. 😑
We spent almost $400 for nothing but frustration. I stopped taking pics after 5th dish.
We ordered 1 omakase and ordered 3 other dishes on the menu. i think it overpriced and nah, the quality was just fine.
We been to Miami (1), Malibu (2) and Hawaii (1). But Chicago is the worst

Mediocre over priced food that comes out in incredibly tiny portions. The sushi was the worst thing we ordered. Slowwwww service. Had the worse waiter in the world. Lots of hype around this place, and I am being generous only because the staff was impeccable. Presentation and status of location is what you are paying for, definitely not the quanitity or necrssarily the quality of food. Portions were incredibly meager and we ordered 10 different dishes. Dessert was a horrible mess whisky cappuccino, disappoi nted in that, like paying for air. Best thing I had was a recommended drink- the carajillo.

Dinner: grilled salmon was alright nothing spectacular until I put it in the toban yaki sauce. The prime filet toban yaki was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 must try. I ended up ordering my own vegetarian option. Wagyu tacos are very small but my fiancé said they were delicious. Portions in general are small.
Service: Good, could have been better.

We planned our one year anniversary at nobu we were really excited for it. As we’re placing our orders the electricity went out at 7:45. At first we thought it would be fine since the server said they had a backup generator but as the time went on no one would really keep us updated with what’s going on , no complimentary food or anything while we’re kindly waiting. Now it’s 8:40 and they just tell us we can leave whenever we want because the restaurant is closing. I understand that this can happen but we didn’t even get anything while waiting or no acknowledgement for ruining our anniversary dinner besides “ I’m sorry we will cover the soft drinks”. Very disappointed

Was excited to try this place considering it's notoriety of quality and consistent dishes across all of it's locations. We had reservations and were sat immediately. The restaurant had a modern artistic look to it and appeared very classy. It wasn't too loud either.
First up were cocktails and the lychee martini was so good we ordered another for dessert. It was very smooth and had a pleasant taste.
Many of the menu items were offered as small plates so we were happy that we could try multiple things off the menu and not get overwhelmingly full. We started with the shishito peppers as an appetizer and then followed up with a cold dish and a warm dish. Our cold dish was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It was a one-bite dish that was so delicious we wanted to order more but held off to be able to try other menu items haha. Our warm dish was the wagyu dumplings and they were just as good.
For dessert, we ordered the warm date cake with gelato and it was unbelievable. I had never seen dates on a dessert menu and with it being made into a cake it was amazing!
Our server was on top of everything. I accidentally spilled my drink at some point and he quickly cleaned it up for us and offered new napkins and drinks. He also gave us great suggestions for where to get drinks afterwards so we could continue the night.
Overall, it was a beautiful place to enjoy dinner

Honest, almost every piece of Nigiri tasted fishy. The best piece was the seared steak. Everything else…you’d be better off going to Sushi Station. Service: very basic that smelled of high staff turnover…there was nothing about the service above chain restaurant level. I am incredibly disappointed…for $300…it was almost all bad and felt cheap. We cut our visit short because it was obvious in the first 5 min we made a mistake. Otherwise our bill probably would have been $1000 for a full 1-2 hr meal. Trust me…avoid the dinning room. We did go up to the roof top which was nice and a scene. Rooftop is worth visiting, dinning room is complete waste of money.

This place should have been a wonderful experience. Food is insanely overpriced even by standards the restaurant is going for in terms of an upscale city restaurant.
For 4 people the bill was over $500 just to give you an idea. We got sushi with jalapeño on top and it was so small, just not worth the price. We got a spicy seafood soup and that was the highlight. I loved that soup, I would order that again anytime. That one item did not make up for the small portions on everything. I go to a lot of restaurants and I've never left one feeling so cheated. It felt like shrinkflashion at its finest. It felt like going to the grocery store and seeing items that once we larger in size get new packaging to trick you into thinking you are getting more.
The upscale dining is nice but they hd no attention to any standard of attire. One couple came in wearing sweatpants and tshirts where almost everyone else had nicely dressed up. I won't be back. Final thoughts the tall African American server with big hair is not a good server, he knew his stuff but he had no etiquette, the gent who was refilling water was much more in line with the charm and etiquette of a fine dining establishment.

Expensive, even on big city standards, but worth the price. I recommend allowing the chef to create a menu for you, and sampling everything the menu has to offer. The shining star for our experience was the sushi platter, which is top tier. The upstairs bar has excellent drinks, better than what are offered in the actual restaurant, so I do recommend going to that before. Overall great and will go again.

Moral of the story, sit at the bar and come during happy hour. They only offer happy hour deals at the bar. The yellow tail jalapeño and lychee martinis are worth it. That’s what we should have done from the start!
My friend made a reservation for us on a Friday at 5:30ish and the restaurant was pretty empty. We booked at the restaurant not the rooftop! Just a few tables were occupied. All of the hostesses were very sweet and attentive. The servers who brought out our food were very nice as well. Our main server who took our order was not very hospitable or warm at all. It was a man from the caucus mountains so if you get him as a waiter just save yourself the time and sit at the bar or request someone else. After we ordered our food and drinks we asked him if we could keep a menu and he goes “uhh yeah I guess but don’t leave it on the table put it on the seat or something” and he was dead serious. He didn’t explain why. We just thought okay maybe a weird policy or he’s having a bad day fine things happen. But when he checked on us he asked us if we wanted more food and we said no just the check then he literally whipped it out from his back and said Here You Go. Like this man just could not wait to get us out of there. Not sure if his shift was finishing up or what but we also just wanted to leave. We actually did want to order more food but his energy just soured our dinner so we just left and made the best out of our night.

Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was very elite. The servers take food allergies SUPER serious and will tell you directly when a dish that is brought to your table has gluten in it (just in case you plan to try or share it). Highly recommend the fluke sashimi (gluten free) and the wagyu dumplings (not gluten free)! Definitely pricey and the layout of seating was awful for customers and the waiters. Easily get boxed in or stuck unable to walk anywhere.

Overall, had a horrible experience. Was running late due to heavy traffic and I called the restaurant 3 times. The lady on the phone assured me both times that they will accommodate us on the rooftop. The third time I had a different lady answer the phone (she was very very rude), and told me they can’t guarantee us a table because we were late and that they were fully booked. I would have appreciated it if the policy was communicated the first two times I called. Side note, they had multiple empty tables when we got there.
The waitress was nice but service was VERY slow. It took an hour until we got our drinks.
My friend also got food poisoning from the crispy rice tuna dish.
I would not recommend this place. Roka Akor is way better atmosphere and service.

I have always enjoyed the food at Nobu; every bite is phenomenal, from the yellowtail crudo to the miso cod and nigiris. My review focuses on the service and atmosphere at Nobu Chicago. The service was not so great; some plates were loudly slammed/placed onto our table, which is not what I would expect from a restaurant like Nobu. The good thing, however, was that the food came out fast, though it seemed like they were hurrying to close out for lunch. The bartender waiter was kind enough to adjust a drink for me, but overall, I think I can skip its Chicago location.

Definitely not worth the hype. Valet service is a disaster with not enough people working to keep up. Service at the restaurant was horrible. The servers were not attentive. We waited a long time for drinks and rounds after. Best thing on the menu are the wings. Everything in general is overpriced but that is to be expected at least it could have been good food or the service could have been good. As a group of 10 it seemed like they knew no matter the level of service they were guaranteed a tip. Myself nor my guests will return.

Dinner at Nobu Chicago on April 11th, was nothing short of a culinary delight, elevating our dining experience to extraordinary heights. As a group of nine, with teenagers in tow, we were somewhat apprehensive about navigating the sophisticated menu. However, our server Royal T instantly put us at ease with his affable demeanor and expert recommendations.
Royal T’s guidance through the menu was impeccable. He had an intuitive grasp of our group’s diverse tastes and appetite, ensuring that each dish was perfectly suited to our preferences. From the signature Black Cod Miso to the tender and flavorful Wagyu Beef, each recommendation was spot on. He expertly suggested portions that allowed us to sample a variety of dishes without feeling overwhelmed.
The food itself was a masterpiece of flavors and presentation. Each dish was a testament to Nobu’s reputation for culinary excellence, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that melded beautifully on our palates. The sushi rolls were particularly notable for their freshness and inventive combinations.
Royal T’s attentive and personalized service truly made our evening memorable. His enthusiasm and knowledge, coupled with a genuine desire to make our dining experience special, were genuinely appreciated. Servers like him are rare gems in the restaurant scene, making a significant impact on the enjoyment of our meal.
Thank you, Royal T, for an unforgettable dining experience at Nobu Chicago. It’s no exaggeration to say that he played a pivotal role in making our evening one we will reminisce about for a long time.

We just celebrated my husband's milestone birthday here, we have traveled the world and have never had better food or service. Our server Joshua "Shua" was attentive, engaging, and took great care of us. Every dish we had was delicious, but sous chef Victor's honey truffle lobster creation was beyond amazing, we are still dreaming about it! We will be back.

I'm a big fan of sushi, especially when it's clean—meaning well-cooked rice paired with high-quality fish. At Nobu, I ordered the salmon and tuna rolls. While the rice was cooked to perfection, I couldn't really gauge the quality of the fish because it was drowned in sauce, mostly mayo-based.
If you're someone who prefers clean, simple sushi where the quality of the fish shines through, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. However, if you enjoy sushi with lots of sauce, you'll probably enjoy Nobu's offerings.

Have been to Nobu 15-20 times. Nobu LA, Vegas, and Malibu are all better. This one feels like a fast food version. Pacing is awful, Service is basic, and it feels like eating in the lobby of a hotel...We gave this location a second try, just in case, and it was worse the second time.

Food and drinks are good but not worth the price. Expect elegant small plates to taste since you probably won't leave full. You're basically paying for the Nobu name but it's def worth checking out at least once. Staff are super nice and describe everything as it's served. The bathroom was unusually warm, almost like a sauna for some reason.

Left my wallet on table after paying bill, left restaurant came back 10 min later after table was cleaned off. Nobody seen my wallet. Clearly was stolen by whoever cleared the table.

The word amazing falls short for a place like this. The food is just amazing and the service is mind blowing! Been there twice and both the times the experience has been incredible. The sushi is delicious and the way the food is presented is precise! Would love to try it out again!

A Tale of Two Experiences at Nobu Chicago
Last evening, my dining companion and I ventured to Nobu Chicago, eager to indulge in their acclaimed $225 per person omakase/tasting menu. Anticipation was high, bolstered by our remarkable rooftop experience in September, which set a lofty benchmark. Unfortunately, our journey through the culinary landscape of Nobu this time painted a starkly different picture.
The evening began on a promising note, with initial offerings that hinted at the culinary excellence Nobu is celebrated for. However, as the night progressed and the restaurant swelled with patrons, a noticeable dip in the quality of our gastronomic adventure emerged. This decline was not subtle; it reached a point where we found ourselves compelled to send one dish back to the kitchen—a move we seldom feel compelled to make. Another dish, featuring fish that was both cold and bland, remained largely untouched on our table. It seemed as though it had been hastily retrieved from the depths of a refrigerator and given a quick makeover in an attempt to pass muster.
This was not the Nobu experience we had envisioned. The dishes, which should have been the stars of the evening, felt average, boring, and executed with a lack of passion. It was as if the soul of the cuisine had been lost in translation between the kitchen and our table. A tasting menu, especially one at this price point, promises an odyssey of flavors and impeccable presentation—a promise that, sadly, was left unfulfilled.
It's crucial, however, to highlight the silver lining of our experience: the service. The staff at Nobu Chicago delivered impeccable service throughout the evening, earning a flawless 10/10 rating in this aspect. Their professionalism and attentiveness were unwavering, a testament to the high standards Nobu sets in customer care. It's a genuine pity that the culinary aspect did not mirror this excellence.
Reflecting on our September visit to the rooftop, the contrast in quality is jarring. That experience was a showcase of Nobu's potential to dazzle and delight, setting a standard that our recent visit simply could not live up to. While the service remains a beacon of excellence, the inconsistency in the culinary execution leaves much to be desired. In the crowded arena of fine dining, especially at such a premium, every dish should sing. Unfortunately, on this occasion, Nobu Chicago's performance was more of a murmur, leaving us longing for the symphony we know they're capable of orchestrating.

Chicago location just doesn’t compare to Malibu or Newport Beach. We had the omakase here and everything was completely forgettable. They gave us mackerel, which is already a horrible dish, and added nothing to it to mask the disgusting taste.
Definitely don’t come here for high quality sushi. There are much better places for that in chicago. Maybe just come here for a lychee martini, some rock shrimp and dumplings.

Celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday at Nobu with the family. The elegant ambiance, impeccable service, and exquisite dishes made it a memorable experience. The fusion of flavors in each dish was exceptional. A perfect choice for a special occasion

This was such a great time; I first went to Nobu in Miami a few yrs ago. The reservation was for 6:15p, it was not too busy for a Friday night but it definitely picked up around 8 when we were about to leave. The ambiance is beautiful, the food, drinks and service were top notch. I had the starter yellowtail jalapeño which originated with them and you can taste it. My friend had the sushi and the lollipop wings. The lychee Martini and French 75 was great as well. She loved her dishes, and so did I, after for the mains, we both got the lamb. We had such a great time and our waiter was so relatable, knowledgeable and friendly, he was so funny! We will definitely come back very soon.

Terrible. Had a reservation for a weekday and they kept reaching out asking if I was going to make it even though I already told them yes. Our reservation was at 7 and the day before they said they need to release the table at 9. Like what? It wasn’t busy and the restaurant was barely full. We left before that anyway. On top of that they kept reiterating before the visit that you have to buy your own birthday dessert, like I wasn’t asking for a free handout but thanks for letting me know…. Like what? For a big international chain I don’t understand this behavior. Over rated and overpriced. Also valet prices aren’t correct. They need to update the website. Ended up paying way more than was advertised.

I will definitely come back for more!
We went to this place during Valentines, and it did not disappoint. The mini tacos were so tasty and full of flavors, specially the tuna!
The black cod, with miso glaze one fantastic, and lamb chops were tender and juicy with amazing sauce. of course the sushi and sashimi selection were fantastic. Specially, the fat tuna.
I highly recommend this place for a date or business meeting.

Your paying a heafty price tag here so let me start with that. And if your not up for a big bill then check out another place / review. The sushi here is good quality. While the cuts are not perfect the low lighting makes up for it. They have some nice spin on some classic cuts that at first I didn't expect to mix well. There is a lot of flare with some dishes and it shows wemhe you see people out with the phones doing the flaming wagyu. While this isn't just a sushi restaurant that I've grown accustomed to reviewing this place had much more to offer. I stayed true to just the sushi and tried the nigiri. So if you want a review on the hot side of the menu I recommend look at another reviewer. There is an omakase option but this isn't strictly sushi either it's a mix of cold and hot plates and is a 8 dish meal, I was not provided with a list of the courses so but for 225 per person, while other omakases offer a 14 or 15 course meal (each well worth it) I wasn't even tempted to inquire more about it. The hosts were very welcoming and the server was very accommodating. All the Wasabi there was freshly grated if that important to you, it is to me. Hope this review helps you decide on your next sushi place.

I’m heartbroken. Nobu has been my favorite restaurant on the planet. The most consistent restaurant regarding presentation, food and service. . For the past 15 years it’s been my go to for all our special occasions … birthday's, anniversary’s and just to have a fabulous meal. Nobu 57, Miami, Los Angeles, Malibu, DC , Las Vegas, and Atlantis . Sadly … the Chicago location was terrible. Presentation we are accustomed to was lacking. The lobster dish used to be served in a warm casserole dish. Ours was in a served on a plate …tasteless and cold. Bento Box shrunk as well as Rock Shrimp. Servers removed plates before we were finished. Didn’t have our favorite drink … the Mia Margarita.
I don’t mind spending $500. for two on a meal… but when food and service are subpar and underwhelming…. I’m disappointed.
Perhaps it was just an off day …. but I would never dine at the Chicago location again. Sorry Nobu 😥

Nobu was a wonderful experience. I felt very taken care of and attended to as soon as I entered the door. We sat at the sushi bar for our meal and got to watch everything get made, which is a cool experience if you have never done it.
I can only really speak to the sushi bar as I did not get anything besides the fried okra, which I would highly recommend as a starter. Perfectly fried and delightful texture with a beautiful sauce that works perfectly and lifts up to a different level completely.
As for the sushi, It was phenomenal. I have eaten at many sushi places in the city and elsewhere but this had to be the highest quality fish I have ever tasted. So many of the pieces would literally melt in my mouth. The sushi chef and team there was amazing! I would highly recommend sashimi and nigiri if you have a palate for top quality fish. Also, they had my favorite, Uni! The shooter was delicious but the Uni and seaweed was amazing. It was definitely a generous portion as well. So if you are also an uni fan check it out.
Lastly I tried two of the desserts. The raspberry cheesecake and banana ice cream dish. Both were great. Both were a delicious combination textures and flavors. Also highly recommend!
I would absolutely return to Nobu when craving the highest quality fish with a super talented chef and team. I definitely recommend checking it out.

This resturant lived up to the decor you’re greeted with when you walk in. A very modern and elegant restaurant in the heart of Fulton market with arguably the best fresh and cooked fish in Chicago. The miso glazed Cod has no competition, as it melts in your mouth the second you bite into it. The service was incredible and we were never left waiting to order or eat. It was an incredible experience and well worth the price.

Nice atmosphere, but the food is WAY OVERPRICE. (2 tacos, the size of a 50 cent coin, $20.00 and 4 chicken wing piece, $20.00) ...what?!?..I had to stop on my way home to get something to eat!

My recent visit to Nobu Chicago for the sushi omakase with wine and sake pairing was truly memorable. The dishes were expertly crafted, and the pairings enhanced the flavors beautifully. The service was great, making it an enjoyable evening overall.

Absolutely spectacular. The attention to detail and blending for each drink, the flavor of the sushi, omakese, and other non sushi dishes is just *chef’s kiss*. One of my favorite places to be in the city! The ambience is just the cherry on top!

Food is absolute garbage. Taste like gas station sushi. Way overpriced for the quality of food. I don’t mind paying alot of money for good sushi but all of the sushi is just low quality. Service from our waiter was excellent. Hence the 2 stars instead of 1

Wagyu beef is good. Others are pretty average, especially considering the prices.
