Upscale fish restaurant famous for its luxury yachtlike interior & hopping bar scene.
This place was selected as a surprise bday dinner for a friend. The atmosphere is very nice. Food was plated well. Very good service. [Downside we took our friend's 13 year old and didn't look ahead at the menu. There was no "children's menu"... fortunately she has a big appetite].

This was a wonderful experience! Richard our server was charming and helpful. Menu is extensive on the fish side which I loved.
We tried several rolls. Sashimi and the Asian Snapper. Everything was amazing. The wine list is also impressive, don’t forget the sake! The decor was really inviting and seating comfortable.
We will definitely be back.

This spot offers plenty of options for sushi and non sushi/seafood lovers. One of our favorite items were the signature oysters and Miso Salmon. I was really looking forward to the crispy rice but unfortunately due to my crustacean allergy, our server was very informative letting me know that they use the same fryer for shrimp/lobster items. I’m hoping that in the near future would certainly recommend to have two separate frying dishes separately for seafood items and fries etc.
Overall service was great we certainly enjoyed our food.

My friends and I came here for happy hour over the weekends and were sat at the table. I would say this would be among the lower tier of happy hour in chicago with the highlight being that it’s offered on a weekend. We tried all the happy hour menu and my favorite were the house roll, kenai roll, shrimp po’boy, and my friends enjoyed the oysters. The service was not great, at times we struggled to find our waiter and get our order in. Hopefully it’s just one off instance.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile and Chicago restaurant week was the perfect time to do so! The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. I wish I would’ve taken pictures of the clam chowder and shrimp tempura, but both were excellent. My husband had the burger (which he said was good) and I had the pan roasted chicken. The fries were the best I’ve had in awhile and everything tasted very fresh. The chicken wasn’t dry at all and I enjoyed the fact that the end of the bone was cleaned (nice touch). The vegetables were of good quality, cooked just to my liking and overall I had no complaints. The waitress made a minor mistake when we ordered and the chef went out of his way to make it right. It was an honest mistake and we didn’t expect anything out of it, but I loved the kind gesture. I didn’t order a cocktail but I will definitely come back to do so!

If I could leave a lower star rating for service I would. Traveling and sat down at the bar. Asked for a high end bourbon and was greeted with “$60”. I asked if they tell everyone that or if he chose to just tell me that and his response of “I’m the asshole on the hook when people see the price and don’t like it” made me pay and leave. Too bad, the menu looked great and I had no limit on my expense for the evening. Wouldn’t go back if I was paid to.

Was bitte soll das???

Absolutely Horrible Staff. I ordered a non alcoholic beverage, i have major health issues that could worsen if i had alcohol. I confirmed with staff twice if it’s non alcoholic when i ordered and he confirmed. But when the drink came in, i tasted the alcohol immediately. When i asked the waitstaff why does it taste like alcohol, he very carelessly responded “oh the bartender must have made the alcoholic version”. No apology, no remorse, it was a joke to them. I’ve never seen such a reckless waitstaff. I’m sure the manager or anyone at the restaurant is not going to do anything about it. I will be filing an official complaint to the City of Chicago.

Service was fantastic, and we loved the atmosphere. Food was ok. Appetizers were very tasty and I would definitely recommend the deviled eggs with Caviar. The main course meals were delicious as well, especially the Branzino St. Tropez. What I can say to skip is the sushi. It was very disappointing, especially for a place that should be spectacular with fish. Drinks were good too. The ambiance and atmosphere were lovely.

My first shot at Lure.
Most sullen bartender ever. He actually propped his sole of his shoe on the edge of the sink so that he could tie his shoe, no handwash afterwards. Zero enthusiasm he served a half martini glass Vesper Cocktail.
Ordered and shared with my date 2 maki rolls and 4 nigiri with a bottle of sake all mediocre. $300 later I was underwhelmed.
The steak tar-tar was delicious as a shared starter but unfortunately it could not save the meal on its own.

Lure did an amazing job handling our anniversary dinner. We received a very warm and welcome reception from the staff along with a glass of Prosecco to start off our dinner. We shared a spectacular meal with exceptional service. As we completed our meal, Lure also gave us a complimentary dessert to celebrate. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend.
Here’s a list of the dishes we tried. Everything was amazing, fresh, and timed perfectly!.
-Lure House Prosecco: Semi-sweet , crisp, easy to drink, perfect celebratory toast
-Solo raw bar with 4 oyster add on: perfect raw bar sample for two!
-Appetizer: Tuna Tacos but would try a crispy rice next time.
-Starter: New England Clam Chowder, a seafood restaurant staple. Creamy and lots of clams but could do without since it’s so filling.
-Hellfire Roll: Just the right amount of spice and texture. Would definitely get again.
-Branzino: Yum, yum yum. This is definitely a must order on the menu. When we saw locals popping in to order this in sweats, we knew we made the right decision.
- Dessert: Basic dessert menu but the warm cookie with ice cream definitely completed our meal.
Don’t miss out on lure!

While visiting Chicago in June, I stumbled across this place. It was walking distance to the hotel and since Uber/Lyft is extremly expensive here I opted to chose dining within walking distance.
Well, our server Richard was the best. The appetizers, sushi and cocktails were on point. I had sushi that was fresh and delish.. The tuna tartare tacos are a must have.
I opted for a chicken entrée and the skin was flaccid. The sides were good, but the chicken went in the garbage.

Staying at 21C we decided to have a drink and a bite before hitting the city on 4th of July.
1st impression was awful.
We sat at the bar, and the service was very unattentive. Until, we paid...
As the bartender was finally taking our payment I happen to lean in and say something to my friend. The Bartender looked at me and said, "what? Are you making fun of me??"...he was not joking, and I was not even talking about him.
He quickly tried to change his tone once I told him he was being confrontational for no reason.
Like, what??? So grossly unprofessional and definitely unnecessarily confrontational. I'm not sure what buddy was going through yesterday, but he might need a day off.
I wasn't even going to leave a review on the subpar service, but that guy left a notable impression on our experience.

Service was okay, food was very disappointing as we had been looking forward to trying this while in Chicago. We tried a few sushi rolls—nothing extraordinary that you can’t get at a typical sushi restaurant. Mushroom ravioli had a strange, sour taste which I’m afraid may have been the cause of my dinner partner and I both getting food poisoning. Overall, would not recommend.

Hello,
First time at Lure and certainly not the last. There’s many things on this menu that we still need to try. We went during the week when it was half off wine bottles. The order the saffron muscles which were amazing. We had to ask for more bread because the sauce was amazing. We had lobster roll with mac and cheese both 10/10. And the best thing on the menu was the sea bass with the potato purée. I wish the lobster roll had a spicier coleslaw. Otherwise 10/10 place to go to for amazing seafood.

Thank you Jake and Lure Fishbar staff.

I had dinner at Lure Fishbar. Upon entering , the maitre d offered a patron just in front of me to participate in a wine tasting. As I walked by them, the maitre d proceeded to walk right PAST me to offer another patron to participate in the wine tasting. He passed me twice, never greeting me, offering to find my reservation, nor offering the wine tasting. There were only the four of us in a small walkway, so it was obvious he was intentionally excluding me.
Once seated (with a friend already at the table and one other joining shortly after), the maitre d passed by making eye contact, with a smug look on his face a few times. Our waiter was just short of friendly, but not necessarily rude. However, he did appear more pleasant at the other tables he served near us.
My interactions at this restaurant felt like micro aggressions. Interactions felt intentionally curt to create an unwelcoming environment. I'm deeply disappointed.
The food was good. The portions were small. Emphasis seemed to be on presentation, which was delightful. The restaurant itself was upscale and beautiful.

We dined at Lure for our son's 12th birthday a couple weeks ago and were THRILLED with our experience. From the food, to the servers, to how special they made our son feel -- it went above-and-beyond and brought tears to my eyes. :) They allowed him to watch the chefs construct his sushi, then our server brought out three off-menu nigiri for him and a cookie cake with a chocolate "happy birthday" note (plus bubbles for my husband and I, and sparkling juice for our son). It was really wonderful. Thank you for being the cherry on top of our Chicago celebration weekend!

The first red flag was an available last minute reservation on a Friday night and a half empty dining room. The service was great! The atmosphere is sterile and not welcoming. The true horror was the meal. Dishes came out just okay mostly without favor or fan fair. Towards the end of the meal all of us were commenting on stomach pain and later that evening all experienced sickness in varying degrees. I would not recommend.

I saw the chef on a local tv show and had to come out and support: My waiter was not the most attentive. Great guy but he didn’t keep a steady flow of drinks and/or food. Since they didnt have Uncle Nearest (insert side eye emoji), I ordered a Basil Hayden Old Fashioned…IT WAS AMAZING. Next up: West Coast oysters. Kumamoto horrible to me (tasted like a fish market…yuk). I loved the Kusshi BC oysters. They were small oysters with a perfect balance of fresh with a punch of salt. Then I was served the yellowtail jalapeño roll and hellfire roll. Everytime I put one in my mouth, I wanted to slap my momma. It was delicious. The spicy paired with the crunch in the hellfire roll….the flavor. Omgahhhh. It was amazing. I will definitely return with friends! I can’t wait until the summer months. I wouldn’t recommend the brownie desert. For the brownie cake, they don’t give you enough ice cream (I’m talking a baby scoop of u e cream).

My wife and I stayed in the hotel next to the restaurant (21c Museum), where we had breakfast included. At the hotel they told us that we had a daily bonus of 50 dollars for breakfast.
The daily amount for our breakfast was around $55, the difference of which would be on us. To justify the charge we signed the ticket daily, which was transferred to the hotel.
By our accounts, at the end of our stay, we should have paid around $35. But what was our surprise that the amount was 150 dollars. The reason was that the restaurant generated a parallel ticket to which it added 20% taxes, of which we were completely unaware, and the latter was the ticket that the restaurant passed to our hotel.
First of all, I think we should have been informed, from day one, of the final amount. And secondly, I think that the percentage charged is excessive, since we had previously paid the tourist taxes at the hotel.
To me, personally, this seems like a SCAM on the part of the restaurant, and specifically, on the part of a kind of manager or boss with an unfriendly face.

I came to Lure for my birthday because I wanted oysters. They were out of oysters. Super disappointing. I went with Steak Tartare instead which was delicious and something I had always wanted to try. But I was definitely upset about the oysters.
I did the Sunday supper and the meal portions were ok. Nothing wild.
Cate was great, but I get the impression she was the only waitstaff because I asked to be seated in the restaurant (as it was my birthday, and I wanted to feel nice) and I was seated on a bench a table away from a very awkward date where it was impossible not to hear every word they were saying. I would have liked to be anywhere else, by myself, but whatever. The food was delicious and they other attendants were constantly filling up my water and checking on me. The manager was super kind and kept checking on me as well

I stayed in the attached hotel for a week during a business trip, and this restaurant quickly became my oasis, the one place I could let the anxiety of the meetings and bustle of the city fall to the side. I had my first dinner here when I arrived, sitting at the bar on a quiet Sunday evening. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I had all three several times. The sushi is amazing quality, as are the raw oysters, and the cooked seafood, and the breakfast food. The staff became my friends. I will always treasure my week in Chicago thanks to the Lure.

Wide variety of options, from chicken to seafood to pasta, and a nice ambience. I do recommend the crab cake, the shrimp tempura, the sushi and the salmon.

I came down for Valentine’s Day. It’s in a very low key spot tucked away inside a hotel. I’ve been to this location several times and unfortunately I’ve seen several businesses at this location come and go for many years. For some reason I think lure fish bar is place thats finally here to stay. First off the decor is beautiful everything about it screams modern and sexy. The music that played throughout the night just fit the overall tone. It wasn’t loud or distracting, I was able to sing along, talk to my fiancé and enjoy it while eating. We started with the lobster bisque soup and the Devil eggs topped with caviar. ( very delicious) main course was red snapper and beef short ribs with lobster tail. ( and I had a few old fashions) my waiter Matthew was great as well as the whole staff. Was friendly, That included the servers who poured water ,brought out the food, the managers and even the lady at the front who we initially checked in with. I’ll be back. You guys are doing a fantastic job and the service and attention to detail was and is outstanding.

Dining at Lure Fishbar was amazing during Restaurant Week! The staff at this beautiful restaurant was very welcoming and attentive. Their excellent service and outstanding menu definitely made our first visit enjoyable and memorable. My husband and I shared everything we ordered. All of the dishes were beautifully plated. The salmon tartare was delectable and a nice starter. The salad was delicious with sesame crusted tuna which was seared to medium-rare perfection. The miso glaze seasoned the salmon very well. The matcha panna cotta ended our meal nicely.

Good atmosphere and good food. Service was a bit on the cold side but responsive.
I was here during restaurant week. I had the tuna tartar, miso glazed salmon, and carrot cake. The cut on the salmon was a bit thick which meant it didn't cook evenly. The glaze was excellent though and the bed of sautéed vegetables was delicious.

Hello flavor! Lure knows how to marry flavors for your palate. Ambiance is very nice, hostess was fabulous. She greeted everyone & seemed to float around effortlessly. Wine list is decent, clam chowder is the best I've had in Chicago, and finished with the veggie bucatini. The veggie flavors were dense co.pared yo the noodles and it.was a delightful balance. Everything was seasoned perfectly and my mouth is still enjoying the long flavors from the olive oil. My first place to start restaurant week. I will return for a sushi experience!
Update: I know, that was quick. I've visited Lure again and it was equally as divine as the first time. Ordered the miso glazed salmon, medium rare, and it was spectacular!

My servorAbraham was very professional, helpful, and agreeable.
The oysters were good but not exceptional.
I did not like the bacon in the clam chowder.
The ambiance/decor is quite sad and cold.

Perspective from a frequent traveler: Not bad but not great.
I have visited a few times and my final thoughts are its mediocre seafood and sushi.
First, let's discuss lobster mac.
Don't waste your time. It's not the best mac and cheese and then the lobster is mediocre at best. The price is not even close to representing the quality. Lobster pieces are large and frozen quickly as it is very chewy and rubbery.
Sushi is good but has a limited selection. This may be the best in the Chicago region I've tried so far. If I appear harsh please forgive me I'm spoiled with west coast sushi.
The staff is always friendly and attentive. The host seems to be more attentive than the wait staff themselves but they are quick to respond after the host communicates the request.
Overall decent but costly restaurant.

My wife and I walked passed this so many times and the reviews were always mixed, but nevertheless we tried it anyhow.
Service & food : it was pretty empty so Service was quick with our server, but the food took longer than expected for only us any maybe another small party that was there. We had issues with our food as far as being undercooked, the taste, lukewarm to cold temperature ect...
The sushi did not taste like sushi, the lobster was chewy and did not taste like lobster or even the artifical would had more of a seafood taste. The muscles was tasty but the broth and the shells were cold and had to be send back. Everyone was nice and understanding of our dissatisfaction, but we decided to forgo the dishes.
Atmosphere it's confusing, it looks like a diner, and also an upscale steakhouse, not sure what direction the designers were going for.
Overall.. if you're very admiment about your seafood experience this wouldn't be a place to visit. I love seafood and this being a "fish bar" I would think the food would be tolerable at least but more of an expertise on the quality and taste. There's a customer for every resturant this just wasn't for us. Thank you to our server and manager at took care of us. Super nice people that work there.

Wonderful experience! Food was absolutely amazing the branzino is a must have! The best part was the service I ate in the bar in lounge area which most times you don’t get great service but I did which made me so happy! I asked the server about the Mac and cheese and she gave me her opinion and I opted out on getting it only because I ordered so much food. Either way when my food came she still bought out the Mac and cheese just so I could try it! It’s the little things but that warmed my heart! Both servers were lovely it truly matters how you treat all people!

Restaurant was a ghost town and the food was okay. We expected, for a restaurant that calls itself a fishbar, that any seafood we ate would be delicious. This was not the case. We ordered broiled oysters, which came out undercooked, gritty and sour. This was not a briny taste but a result of the undercooking. The sushi we had seemed fresh and was tasty. The main dishes were okay. We have had better for more moderate restaurants. t
Our wait staff was good but seemed bothered by the subpar kitchen output. He was attentive to us but distracted. There were very very few tables occupied so my thought would be that the kitchen would be at it's best. Not the case.
I wouldn't eat here again and expect it to close due to lack of interest and food integrity.

Brought my wife and children here and it was wonderful. Great service and the food was outstanding. My wife and I shared a deluxe platter and we were amazed. My children had the Mac and Cheese and kept on telling us how yummy it was. Very pleased and looking forward to coming back here again soon.

Calamari was pizzeria quality in a tempura batter, sushi was way overpriced for average service. Drinks were great

Extremely beautiful, well lit restaurant. Music selection is fabulous! I would come here for that alone! Staff is great. Food is great. Had the filet and it came as requested. The only thing I didn't like was the wine pours are small. The bottles wine is expensive, starting at $70 per bottle.
We will be back!

We had a wonderful meal at Lure on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't too crowded but still lively. The music and lighting is fantastic. The service exceeded our expectations and the food was very good. We ordered the shrimp/cucumber roll, blue crab crispy fried rice, tempura onion rings (rocked!) and the 10 oz filet. One minor complaint is that the pour on the wine are small and the wine list was a bit obscure for us."

The far less than mediocre welcome from the hostess made me tempted to turn around and walk out. But since I had literally walked blocks on a very warm afternoon in Chicago just to get here, I decided to stay. The table service was slow (I would have had another glass of wine, but the server just simply did not come back after the food was delivered.) The only redeeming factor about this visit is that the food, for which I came, was fresh and delightful.

Wish I could rate it a 0/5 stars , they made me and my sister VERY uncomfortable. The whole time they kept giving us rude looks and made us feel out of place. We are Mexican and that seemed to bother the host a lot. To summarize it , they didn’t think we had enough money to pay the bill , however we did . They were extremely rude and overall just tried to make us leave as quick as possible. The food isn’t that good either . However they were extremely nice to the white people eating next to us. The only nice part was leaving .

Really good service and nice food. I went here with a couple people from work. We sat at the bar and had a great meal of sushi and small plates. Bartender was really attentive and it's a really nice place.

Stopped in for happy hour. Nice prices and bartender was great. Sushi was okay. Glad we got to try it out at half priced. Not sure I'd come back outside of happy hour and pay $20 for the roll.

Probably the best breakfast in town. Incredible croissant egg sandwich and praline waffles. If ever back in KY, we’ll be back here.

We had a reservation for four people and they did not allow three people to sit at the table until everybody arrived. After 10 minutes of wating and trying to talk sense to the staff we just left. Horrible service. I felt like we were car parts that need to be collected before the car production can be completed, not guests.

Great happy hour. Sat at the bar, friendly and attentive staff. Would recommend.

The crab cake is excellent. The chowder was ok. It had a smoky flavor and seemed undercooked because the potatoes were crunchy. My friend and I each ordered a filet. We got mashed potatoes and green beans as the sides. I guess I shouldn’t have high expectations for ordering steak at a seafood place, but the steak tasted so odd. It was REALLY dry, and it reminded me of Christmas Vacation where they dunk the dry turkey in water. I’m not sure why the steak tasted odd. My friend and I determined it was the salt. The green beans had a similar odd taste. I definitely wouldn’t recommend given the price. I think the restaurant is new, so they might be figuring things out.

A very good place for very fresh seafood. The ambiance is lovely, the menu is ambitious, their raw bar selections were fresh, bright, and inventive. The uni carbonara is not to be missed, and their sushi is also superb.

Stick to the happy hour. Cocktails are great. Food is ok. Service was a bit slow. Ambience is what you create.
I stayed at the hotel adjacent to it for a week so I gave it a few tries. Expected more based on its luxury branding and high prices but it’s was average at best.
*Their in house menu is different from the google/website menu.

This restaurant was in our hotel and it was late so it was convenient for us to pop in for a late night snack. The sushi was terrible. The pasta was okay. Definitely not enough uni. The quality of the uni wasn’t fresh and didn’t have the texture that sea urchin is supposed to. Very disappointing.

Thank you very much Lure Fishbar for impressing my boyfriend’s parents!!! They came in to visit Chicago for a couple of days and I was incredibly nervous choosing somewhere to make reservations because they’re well off and have refined taste, but this place blew us all away. I chose it because the menu has a nice wide selection and the prices are very reasonable.
The ambiance was beautiful just walking in, and the service *could not have been better.* As for the food, everything we ordered was an absolute hit. My boyfriend had clam chowder, I got the blue crab sushi rice based on reviews and was not disappointed! His mom got the crab cakes and his dad got the special, I forget what it was exactly but it was fish and everyone said it was delicious. Drinks and dessert were great as well!
All of the seafood and shellfish tasted incredibly fresh, not fishy at all, a nice clean taste to everything. I really enjoy oysters, and even at nice places it’s understandably hard to get oysters that don’t have a little bit of sand in them somewhere, but the oysters were perfectly clean and it allowed me to fully enjoy how delicious they were!
The secret to judging a seafood place is their produce, and the lemons were top notch perfection.
I was a little apprehensive because I didn’t see many pictures of the food in reviews, but don’t let that fool you, everything here is stunning. It was the perfect way to cap off my boyfriend’s parents’ visit to Chicago. Thank you Lure Fishbar, my boyfriend and I will definitely be back!!
