We’ve eaten at this location and the West Loop location multiple times and both offer some of the best sushi for the price that we’ve had anywhere in Chicago. The setting is intimate and much easier to hold a conversation than the West Loop location because there isn’t loud rap and R&B playing the whole time. The experience of being served in a small group gives you a chance to ask the chef questions directly and learn more about everything you’re eating. The normal omakase felt much more worth it than paying for the Sushi Suite.

Food was good. The ingredients are good quality, but the flavors are on the strong end, especially for sushi. The food pairs well with drinks, and not so well with water. Nice atmosphere. I love sitting in front of the sushi chef as they make the food. It is a little cramped and a little loud compared to the usual omakase experience, but I enjoyed it overall.

I snagged a 2-for-1 twelve course omakase and wowwwww. I see why it's normally $100. EVERYTHING was so fresh. The fish tasted like it was caught three seconds before it was served. Favorites from the tasting were the gindara (miso cod), hotate (scallop), and ebi (spotted prawn), the latter being my favorite of the meal. The wagyuni was also insane. 10 out of 10 experience. I also had a yuzu butterfly pea mocktail that was OOOF wow. I'll be back.

The food and staff were amazing. Chef was great at interacting and explaining each dish and the small 5 seat bar where you eat made it that much more intimate.
Only critique is the decor. While it is inventive to have it inside a hotel suite, the decor seems a bit worn and could use a refresh.

I love sushi, so the meal was still tasty, but these were the tiniest nigiri/makimono I have ever seen in my life (I started eating sushi as a seven-year-old in Tokyo), even by regular sushi restaurant standards. At an omakase one would expect some sense of generosity. The pacing also felt a bit rushed, and unfortunately we couldn't quite understand what the sushi chef was saying because of their very thick (non-Japanese, non-Korean) accent.

My husband and I came here for our 10th anniversary, and had the best time! Highly recommend!

Poorly executed attempt to an experience. This is a perfect example of how much the price will not determine the quality, and will actually enrage you with the amount of money spent on poorly ventilated room with barely above average choice of fish. Please, skip this one, save your money, it's not worthy and it's offensive.

My friend and I came to this place with high expectations and it was truly a disappointment. From the fishy smell on entry to the poor quality of everything, from the ambience to the food, it was just sub-par for the high price, or any price. We couldn’t understand the sushi chef because we could barely hear him. The music was too loud and mundane, the space felt small, but not intimate, and we were rushed out right after finishing our last piece of fish with no time to even digest. I would not recommend this experience at all.

Another superlative meal at my favorite sushi speakeasy—tucked away in the Hotel Lincoln, Sushi Suite 202 feels like a secret clubhouse for those who know.
The staff and the sushi chef walk the perfect line between friendly and cool; the decor is inviting and sophisticated; the whisky is top-shelf (including several allocated bottles that you don’t find elsewhere). L
None of this would matter if the sushi didn’t deliver, of course… but, happily, it does. Course after course of delicious, meticulously-prepared nigiri.
The place seats only six, maximum, so it’s important to book in advance (and makes it understandable that they ask for payment at the time of reservation). Highly recommended for a special night out, or for any night out, really.

It was great! I really like the good quality sushi and the cooktails we had. If you want a good sushi, this is a place to go!
I put the service ★★★★☆ because they did not do anything about my partner’s birthday even though I requested for it. This is probably myself being too picky but I got disappointed.
Side note, the server kept poring the water every 5 mins. Haha I thought that was kinda too much although I appreciate the hospitality.
Also, after finishing 17 courses, the chef asked would you like more sushi? Not knowing that it would cost additional charges. I think that they should explain that it would cost more if you order more sushi..
But overall, the food experience was good. The service was somewhat disappointed.

What an amazing, surprising dining experience! I have never had the pleasure of Omakase dining, it was definitely the highlight of my trip. Upon entering the red door room, we were greeted by the bartender Ivan and his associate Adrain. What a treat these two were! Ivan is a wizard at making his own drink combinations which we had the pleasure of sampling. He was interesting and knowledgeable and I could have spent all night talking with him. Then we proceeded to the area where the Chef, Krit (Chris), worked his magic in the 17 courses we were served. The taste combinations were over the top delicious! We enjoyed hearing about him and his experiences as well as his decisions in the sushi parings. Do yourself a favor and visit this gem of a restaurant.

McKenna and Ivan are the best. Personable, great memory, and always a positive influence on my day. I don’t know why I always come to sushi suite during pivotal moments in my life, but today, on the day I said goodbye to my beloved Melfina, I came to sushi suite to celebrate life. I figured if I could bake fresh fish for my dog, I could enjoy fresh sushi for myself after taking good care of her in the last weeks of her life.
If you are here, enjoy your time. Life isn’t always just about joy. There is beauty in the life and death of all creatures, and something sacred about the quality of fish you pay for at sushi suite 202. The attention to each cut of fish is the same, though each chef’s tastes and technique are different, with regard to the quality and specific characteristics of each fish.
Whether you are happy, sad, looking to impress, celebrating, starting something new, sushi suite will attend to you. Best wishes. Xoxo Melfina, you will be missed.

This was an amazing experience! The only negative is the seating it was too tight and you are seated by 2 other couple’s that you do not know. Especially with covid I believe we were too close for comfort and a bit irresponsible on the restaurants part. When I booked the Date night package I was under the impression that it would only be 2 of us in the suite. I believe it was deceptive practices because you were not made aware before hand that you would share the suit with 2 other couples. Also, they poured 3 sakes and didn’t say that was extra. The way it was presented it leads you to believe that was part of the meal and then you get billed for sake a total of 50.00 for the sake flight. I read that you do get a cocktail flight included in the price and any additional drinks that you order you will get charged, well we did not order the sake they just poured it so why not tell us before you pour it that this will be extra. It was just deceptive in my opinion. The food was excellent so I have only good things to say about the food experience!

Food quality was average. Service extremely rushed since the first service ran over by 40 minutes. We appreciated that they offered offered us a free cocktail, but mine was just a spirit and citrus bomb that was unbalanced. Did the 17 courses. Overall it was OK but we won't be back. Lots of other omakase options.

Such a unique and intimate experience! The chefs and service all friendly, and lovely to take a shot with. The sushi absolutely outstanding and makes my week every time I go! If you haven’t had sushi omakase before, come here and it will literally be a life changing experience. You won’t see sushi the same.

Perhaps being overly critical but when prepay is required for an expensive meal, it should live up to the expectation. While the experience was great from intimate speakeasy vibe to cocktails and presentation of nigiri, fish-to-rice ratio were inconsistent, which is glaringly obvious when they served back to back immediately. Otherwise, it is a great spot for a date night especially if cocktails are appreciated.

Just book it. Stop looking. This is the best sushi spot I've been to in Chicago, the service was amazing (Ken making the sushi was an artist with fish. Seriously, give that man a raise) and the food was mouthwateringly good. I don't have pictures to post because the food was so good I didn't bother taking pics. My girlfriend was literally yelling yum at every course. The counter seats 6 so it's a very intimate experience, full bar and sake pairings as well. 100% recommend.

This place has sadly gone downhill. I’ve been to this location a few times before and used to recommend it to those who have never had omakase before but I won’t be returning or recommending it.
Firstly, I get that this is omakase for maybe 1/4 of the usual price but even so, I don’t believe it is worth it. There are so many similarly affordable omakase options in NYC with incredible sushi, really no comparison to my recent dinner at sushi by bou.
Firstly, the size of the nigiri pieces are laughably small, such an unsatisfying mouthful. Appreciate you want to get the right ratios but even adding just a little more rice would be nice. Since it’s such a low cost, high margin ingredient, unsure why they’ve also decided to skimp on the rice too.
I do appreciate the vibe is different to typical omakase. The music, dim lights and service does make it uniquely fun and a great date night spot. But unfortunately it doesn’t make up for the sushi.
They have obviously tried to get as many seatings in per night as possible to make up for the lower prices but it’s negatively impacting the experience. They email you to remind you not to be late and they run 30 mins late to seat you and quickly rush you off afterwards. It has a cheap and tacky vibe, definitely catered to people who have never tried omakase or simple and fresh nigiri sushi before.

You really get what you pay for. Sure the ambiance is so chic and the service is decent but the food is just so disappointing. The portions here are tiny. And by that I mean each bite is about a bit more than 1/3 of its normal size. With such small portions, you would expect the quality of the ingredients to be good at least. Sadly, this was not the case. I was already put off by the intense fishy taste that not fresh seafood would have from the first bite and it did not get better. I had to keep eating pickled ginger to cleanse my palate and help with the horrible taste. There was also a bone in my fish, which is something that had never happened to me at any regular sushi restaurant. This is unacceptable for an omakase. A good omakase is worth the splurge. With this price point, you are better off going to a sushi restaurant.

On the upside, the quality of the fish itself is great. On the downside, there’s everything else.
There are six seats at the bar and six at the food table. Both sets are crammed into their respective places and spacing is equivalent to that of the CTA. A member of waitstaff attempting to pour a beverage or clear a glass results in having to heavily lean from one side or another and the end seats have nowhere to go.
The upselling attempts are disappointing.
The rest of the lack of attention to detail would be accepted at a different price point or intended audience. The rice is inconsistently pressed, the wasabi tastes stale, the depth of cuts is inconsistent, and cocktails and sake were both poured in such a way as to spill. Torch was applied inconsistently to the fish such that each guest receives something separate. Chef is nice enough, but doesn’t know what he doesn’t know.
In short, there is no finesse and it’s not worth it. Fine omakase if you’ve never been to omakase, but this is the Disney of sushi in Chicago.

It used to be $50 but now it’s $60. It’s still a good bargain for omakase whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned veteran. It’s located in a hotel, close to that Sushi Suite to be exact. It was a little difficult to find but we found it. Once inside it’s very laid back. They serve you all of the pieces in 60 mins. Although I would have gone for that $100 option just to see what else they have. I noticed not too many people posted pictures of their experiences on here. I’ll post some from my past experience just to give people an idea. Some of the pieces might be the same.

We’ve been to multiple omakase experiences and while some of the food was great, not all of it was. The seating is very tight. Drinks are great. Service is wonderful. But there are omakase’s that are better in my opinion. It’s a cute concept and the vibe is great. Friendly staff and chef’s. But probably would not come again.

This place smelled fishy when we visited which gives a weird atmosphere for the super small space here.
The food was just meh. I’ve had cheaper omakase with much better fish. The first four pieces of nigiri just tasted of mushy rice and soy sauce. Even one of the first pieces of tuna tasted fishy. Pretty disappointing considering that is a quarter of the menu.
The flavors brought in to add to the fish were barely there. There wasn’t much love or passion from the chef either. Just a sort of whatever you want type of place. We got wagyu and otoro at the end to try and get that umami we were chasing. wagyu was good, but they fired up the otoro without asking. I’m sorry but otoro shines on its own and cooking it like that kind of took away from the taste I love. On top of that though, they asked how we wanted the extra course of otoro prepared after torching it. Please just give it to me the way you like. When I do omakase, you shouldn’t need to be your own expert as I want to experience each chefs individuality.

Ok let's start with I'm going against my own rules about leaving a bad review as I run 3 small businesses and know how it impacts potential clientele and every experience is different from on person to another however I never read reviews I just go and assess it myself but this right here is exactly that a rushed scam to deliver sup par service / food that should up of higher standards of which it was not have never went to an omakase where the duo chefs reiterated that the fish was delivered this morning which I know from my experience it was not but I see the trick in there trade let's makes the customer think it's really fresh but ultimately it was not, another odd thing was that every piece of fish was brushed with soy sauce which is ok but on all of the fish? Wheres the creativity in that? There's wasn't much of a wow moment In this experience. The whole experience was rushed as previously mentioned now that I have reviewed a couple of reviews you would think they listen and make changes but they continue to follow the same practices 2 yrs later, the ending is the best where they charge u the 17th bonus dish and charge whatever for any extra u order so sad I just spent around $400 on myself as I ate alone and it had to come to this I was excited to try out another omakase and treat myself but all I did was disappoint myself as I should have trusted my instinct and Stick to sushi restaurants that have proven themselves worthy of spending that type of $ they're to many places here in Chicago alone that will beat this establishment by a mile from serving to transparency of which they lack unfortunately I will not be returning nor will I recommend it to any of my peers sad but the realty is we all work hard for our money button spend it in this fashion it's unacceptable period. Thanks for the experience that I didn't enjoy but was suppose too

This place is fire! The dimmed light and decoration gives it a plus, besides the fact that you actually need to try to find it, as it is hidden in the hotel behind what might look like a regular door.
17 omakase courses that are not only tasty, but a festival of the chef using the torch and his hands to give you a very good dinner. On top of that, cocktails are tasty and the service is great! I’ll be back for sure

My wife and I had a blast, as did our taste buds. We ran into our soon to be host José in the hall way and he gave us a run down of the omakase experience and fit us in for a time slot very quickly. Chef Pong is a master of his craft, creating amazing experiences for every course. It's hard to pick a favorite because each course is unique and incredible. Felix made a fantastic martini for my wife and we felt like family during our whole visit. I can't recommend the crew and experience at Sushi by Bou enough. Thank you again to José, Chef Pong, Felix and the rest of the staff!

Great bang for your buck Omakase.

Had an amazing experience here. Max the chef was very knowledgeable and approachable. The quality of the fish was very high and the order selection was great. We noticed that as he was preparing the nigiri, if certain slices didn't meet his standards he would put them aside and cut new ones

Juan Ramirez was stop notch. Fantastic service can't wait to come back. The chef Sam was so inclusive and informative. He made sure to explain all of the courses. Fantastic experience. 10/10

My husband and I went to celebrate our one year anniversary and it was such a fantastic time. It was intimate, fun and most importantly some of the best sushi I've ever had. For a memorable night or a special occasion it was worth the price. Only thing we won't be doing again is the date night package, I'd rather just order a cocktail of my preference instead of random options.

The food and service were amazing! Great place for a celebration.

One of my favorite anniversary places to go to! My boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year together here and it was such an amazing experience!!
Definitely recommend getting the cocktail pairing with your experience. The ambiance of this place is very intimate and exclusive. Our chef connected with everyone on some kind of personal level, and really made the whole experience inclusive with everyone there, which was only 2 other couples.

This used to be our go-to whenever there was a special occasion or friends were in town. However, we recently went back and were disappointed.
The experience was rushed, there was no personality, and the omakase was plain. The old sushi chef, Jordan, used to create amazing bites - curry and shrimp, Wagyu and caviar, chutoro and uni, uni tacos, uni ice cream - the variety was outstanding. Now they have a different chef, the omakase has little variation, with many pieces being topped with just soy sauce. The last course was strange - plain uni scooped into your hand (?). Where’s the tomago? We were also celebrating a birthday, which wasn’t acknowledged.
Overall, a 180 from what it used to be. The photos below are from “before.”

Every bite was perfection, the ambiance and music were great, very attentive staff and awesome chefs.
My absolute favorites were the fatty tuna, miso cod, and the scallop.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a great Omakase experience.

Very very unique space which I think makes this place special and certainly an experience to have. The cocktails were very nice but the sake flight was very good (this coming from someone who isn’t really a sake drinker). The sushi was high quality and there were a few OMG moments (the uni and wagyu combo stands out). Very intimate counter seating which makes it feel incredibly special. Cool lounge vibe to hang out in afterwards too if you desire. Would highly recommend for the experience as I don’t think there is anywhere else in the city you can do it - and the sushi is very good too.

Lovely experience! But wish they would have told us when certain foods and fishes were an extra charge outside of the prefix menu. My fiancé and I had a surprise $50.00 on our bill at the end of the night, which of course we paid, but it was deceptive. This was a special occasion and we’re not wealthy people, so we had to save up for this.

Chef Mike was outstanding. The food couldn't have been better and the staff was fantastic. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. Each course was delicately assembled and explained in a calm and professional manner. The music was a touch louder than your usual omakase, but it lent itself to the cocktail lounge atmosphere.

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. All the staff members were attentive and friendly. They know how to make sure you have a good time. Huge shout out to Chef Max and Coco for ensuring my group had memorable experience and serving up delicious sushi!

Amazing experience and such a fun night! The cocktails and sake flight were delicious and the sushi was 🤌🏼 So good I ordered two bonus pieces of otoro at the end of the 17 courses. We happened to be seated with really great people so that made the evening that much better. Cool ambience too. Highly recommend.

Sushi by Bou exceeded my expectations, delivering an unforgettable sushi experience.
Sushi By Bou offers remarkable sushi offerings. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with the attentive staff, set the stage for an extraordinary dining experience.
The toro (fatty tuna) and hotate (scallop) sushi were absolute highlights, boasting incredible flavors and textures. The chef's expertise was evident in every perfectly crafted piece, showcasing the freshness of the fish.
The attentive service and refined ambiance further enhanced the overall dining experience. I highly recommend Sushi by Bou for an exceptional journey into the world of omakase!

If you want a fun, personal omakase table, this is your place. Hidden on the 2nd floor of the Hotel Lincoln this place is a gem.

Do yourself the favor and definitely do this while in Chicago! The 17-course menu was SO worth the price. The chef and wait staff were so much fun and made the whole evening an experience to remember. The sushi is made right in front of you while playing awesome music and enjoying drinks. Strongly recommend the hibiscus margaritas! We had several rounds of drinks and two 17-courses for $285. Very reasonable compared to some of the other lesser enjoyable places we visited in Chicago.

An all around amazing experience. The ambiance I'd very interesting, set in a suite of the hotel. The restaurant provides a true omakase experience, offering an intimate experience with the chef and a small number of patrons.
The food was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh seafood.
All in all a top knotch experience that I would highly recommend.

I have done a 10 course chef's tasting at Uchi as my only prior Omakasi experience, that was outstanding. This was nowhere even close. This was 12 pieces of sushi for $60. It tasted fine, it wasn't bad but not great either. If I would've ordered a 12 piece sushi for $20 and gotten the same thing I still would've thought it was mediocre but at least it would have been reasonably priced. The chef was very friendly. Wait staff could use work. Overall not impressed and will not return or recommend.

It could have been 5 stars but it could also have been 1 or 2. We booked the place last minute as my wife had a sudden sushi craving, I had the place on the list and saw they had a table available at 5pm and booked it at 4:40pm. We were like 25 minutes away so I texted the restaurant to let them know that we would likely be 5 minutes late and check that was ok. They replied and said that was fine and thanks for letting them know.
When we arrived at the restaurant/room the bartender half opened the door and told us that we had the wrong place, I explained that we had a booking under my name at 5pm and he insisted that we did not and that we probably had the wrong place since they have several locations in the city. I showed him the booking and he was surprised, I told him we even texted them and they confirmed and he said that was not them that number is central for all their locations and based in New York. Weird but this sounds like their problem since that is the number listed in the booking system and mentioned to contact for any details... How am I suppose to know that?
He then asked us to wait while he checked his system and closed the door leaving us waiting in the hotel corridor in front of a closed door. I do not know but considering this is a 140 USD minimum per head I expect him to let us go in and discuss this in a better environment specially once he saw the booking confirmation on my phone. Weird service.
A lady came out and explained us that since we booked last minute they did not receive the reservation on time because there was a delay in the system. I call BS on this since I work in the industry and reservations reflect inmediately in 99.9% of systems plus they send an email alert too they just probably were distracted talking to each other and did not check the system. She said we had to wait outside in the lobby while the chef was getting ready. Not at their bar while enjoying a welcome drink as an apology no, at the lobby next to the stairs. At this point this was between insulting and humilliating and if my wife would not have had that crazy craving I would have asked for the money back and leave. Not a single apology, nothing, zero, nada. A tonne of excuses and a tonne of blaming systems or whatever. Listen, I do not care, this was your fault you represent a business and things went wrong on your side you should apologize to your clients and not let them waiting behind a closed door in a corridor when you have a bar and a sofa INSIDE your restaurant. What kind of joke is this?.
In the end, once in, we had an amazing meal with Chef Mike, he was an absolute legend and did his best to recover the situation, he was knowledgeable, explained all the meals, had great conversation, engaged, apologized several times even though this situation was probably a challenge for him too and he made us think about coming back.
I love the concept, I love the food and I wanted to love the experience but service was underwhelming.

this is a 3.5 to 4 for me right now. mostly because it is the only omakase joint i have been to, though i have had plenty of sushi in Chicago, the US at large, New Zealand, and Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima). so lacking a baseline on omakase.
most of the stars knocked off for the general ambience. it's a neat idea, but i feel like something a little too fabricated and obviously tailored to the insta-crowd and people's obsessions with speakeasies in this city and in general.
the fish and flavours of each of the pieces of nigiri were pretty excellent and the chef seemed to have a passion for the craft.
but on the negative side, the rapid fire 17 courses (aka 17 pieces of nigiri) didn’t give almost any time to really deep dive into his sourcing of fish, his thought process behind food, and build a rapport with the chef to come away with a unique experience.
the aesthetic sloppiness of the rest of the waitstaff and even worse with the hotel staff below just lead to an overall diminished view of the place. it was also freezing in the small space. i understand there might be issues with making it too warm for the raw fish, but still—it is Chicago during winter after all.
my bf took me for my birthday, and to be honest i had some great food but there was nothing above and beyond from an experience standpoint. and for the price, there could have been some more interesting variety overall.
the cocktail list seemed incongruent with the food, so i am glad we didn’t get any alcohol pairings. and again, i encounter puzzled looks from a waiter when asking for a simple classic daiquiri (one of the most common cocktails of all time; not the slushy kind), something i do not expect from a higher end fine dining place.
post-dinner, the lounge area just seems increasingly crowded and awkward.
curious how i’ll feel in retrospect after trying some more omakase experiences.

Amazed! Boyfriend took me here for an early Valentine's day dinner (and secret proposal) and every there was amazing. The food, the service, the vibe. Will be coming back. Everything was great and everyone that was in on the proposal took their own videos. I was oblivious and completely blown away. 1000/10. SO worth it!

Holy maki roll, Sushi Suite 202 is the real deal! I recently had the pleasure of dining there with my hubby and some pals, and let me tell you, we left feeling like royalty. The service was top-notch, we literally want to be compadres with the bartenders and chef. They will literally be my future kid’s godparents! The team of four were so friendly and engaging, we wanted to invite them to our next game night. 🤔 wait, I think they are invited to our next asada. New friends, if you are reading this, it’s the “Williamsons” from 2/17 😉
But let's get to the good stuff: the sushi. Chef's kiss It was so good, I nearly shed a tear. I don't know how they did it, but it was like each piece was crafted by a sushi-making wizard. The flavors and textures were perfectly balanced, like a game of Jenga where everything stays standing.
Now, I know what you might be thinking: "But girl, is it worth the price?" My answer: hell yeah! It might not be cheap, but it's worth every penny. If you've got some wiggle room in your "eating out" or "entertainment" budget, do yourself a favor and indulge in the Sushi Suite 202 experience. Your taste buds (and your tummy) will thank you.
Long story short, Sushi Suite 202 knocked our socks off. We'll definitely be back, and next time we might just have to rent out the whole place. It's that good.

I have to say this place is the closest to having real sushi from Japan; the freshness, sweetness, and texture is seriously on par. I was literally unraveling in disbelief eating every piece thinking, "I haven't had sushi like this since Japan." I've been to many sushi places in Chicago like kai zan, momotaro, juno, nobu, but none come to even a close second. This is hands down the best here. Everything was amazing; Head chef Mike who kept us entertained, the staff were very polite and attentive, and the two other couples sitting at the bar all pass the vibe check! One of the best nights I could ever ask for. I will definitely be back!

Got in here very last minute on new year’s eve. The hostess was very very nice. They were running about 20 min late to seat us but she was apologetic and also kept us updated on everything so didn’t feel bad to wait outside the dining room. The food was ok nothing special. For the price it’s not bad, but considering it’s a prefix, nothing special so I was a little disappointed. Also, even though you would think that it would be a very intimate experience considering it’s in a hotel room, it was very loud and not very intimate. The music felt too loud and the seating was crammed. I would have enjoyed it more if it was less people even it that means we had to pay more. I probably wouldn’t come back again unless they add something special and interesting to the menu, but for one time experience, I think it’s worth a shot.

I did the bougie Omakase experience which had 15-17 pieces of nigiri. Overall this was a great dining experience but for the price, I expect close to perfection. The fish was fresh and the flavors were curated very well. The restaurant is in a really cool and intimate space. The sushi chefs were friendly and personable.
My biggest complaint and maybe only complaint is that a couple of the courses required a blow torch to sear the fish and all I could taste was butane in my mouth. I'm not sure if it wasn't igniting immediately and blasted the fish with butane for a second before it lit, but regardless it was foul and ruined those couple courses. I expect better but overall it was still a good experience and great meal.
My only other complaint is that with omakase I expect a truly unique dining experience that changes depending on what is fresh and the chefs creativity. It was apparent this was a fixed menu that is likely replicated every time. It would have been nice to try some unique cuts or see a little more of a curated experience.

This place is supposed to be a good Japanese restaurant where you pre-pay a chef’s dining experience and you look forward to enjoying it! This restaurant is completely unreliable, unprofessional and disrespectful! They have a only text line which they don’t use or use without any professional manners.
They cancelled a prepaid fine dining experience which was a 50 birthday’s surprise dinner party for 6 ppl last minute without communicating to the client/me!... Sushi suite 202 could and must call me on the phone (they have my mobile phone number) and make sure I would not show up at your restaurant door as it sadly happened! There was no consideration at all for last minute cancellation the restaurant did. Things happen but it would be the restaurant priority and a respectful customer service care as a fine restaurant to make sure that the clients don't get affected by their last minute change of reservation for a 50 birthday party, as we talked during the booking process! I want to make sure other potential clients understand the disappointment about this bad experience and they don’t put in this kind of situation. It was unreal and frustrating to experience the cancellation at this restaurant in front of the sushi suite 202 door. Unbelievable... We realized the restaurant was not even open on the date of the reservation in front of the main door!!! Unbelievable!!! Afterwards they offered to repair to this terrible, unprofessional experience but never kept their words. Lately, never answer any of my inquiry via their number Absolutely NOT TO PUT YOURSELF in this unpredictable Situation….
I went other times … and I felt something was off: Good Japanese food if you have the luck to get in but better not to deal with the management moody, disrespectful and unprofessional manners!

Well priced omakase for the quality! Got the bougie option which is the 17 course omakase vs their standard one with only 12 course! The chef we had was really fun and took shots with us!
Highly recommend this if you're new to Omakase.

I've been to several omakase places and this was by far the most disappointing. The fish was good quality and the chef was friendly and knowledgeable, but the overall experience was terrible. The seating time is too short for it to be a pleasant experience. From the moment we walked in, it felt like the staff was rushing us out (our waitress's demeanor often came across as rude, but honestly I don't blame her. I think the stress of trying to get people in and out so quickly would get to anyone). We did the 17 piece omakase and were still hungry after, but when we tried to order more a la carte we were told we had to leave for the next seating.

Juan will blow you away when it comes to barkeep specialty cocktails and amazing service.
Moving on to the Omakase, Chef Mike, Quatro and Moon always make sure you have fun while dining. The are all incredibly knowledgeable about the pieces they are preparing and serving - three very talented chefs.
Insanely delicious, one of the best private dining experiences in Chicago.

What an awesome fun experience. Chef Mike was very entertaining knowledgeable, and willing to take any and all questions while preparing some of the best sushi I have had in my life. My wife also said it was some of the best sushi she has had in her life as well. It was well worth the price of admission and I have no doubt I would do it again in the future. It only holds 6 people so prepare to get to know your dining mates but after the meal you can sit in the small connected lounge to continue enjoying drinks.

We went on a double date to check out Sushi Suite 202 and we had nothing less than a spectacular visit. The suite itself is intimate and decorated so nicely, you really do forget you’re in a hotel room. Vibes and ambiance were everything and the music was on point the whole night. We loved the personal and up close experience with the whole team. Alex and Ivan, at the bar and McKenna, our maitre d really made our night enjoyable. They have the perfect team to welcome you and make sure you have a great time. Chef Edison (Cuatro) was amazing! Loved how personable he is and how he explained every dish. The sushi was fantastic! All the cuts were of the best quality of fish. We’ve had sushi in Japan before and could tell the suite serves the highest quality and they get their fish delivered from Japan! It’s hard to choose which cut was my favorite. I also love how knowledgeable the team was about the restaurant, alcohol, fish, and even the decor they have on display (including the small glass sake cups hand blown by a Japanese women) such unique touches to enhance your experience. We loved our first visit and can’t wait to go again!
