Conveniently located on the third floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center, Restaurant Suntory has been Honolulu's iconic go-to spot for authentic Japanese cuisine for over 40 years. With such a long history behind us, we’re proud to have served locals and visitors from all walks of life, who just so happen to be seeking the same thing: a truly delicious Japanese meal.
Join us for a variety of authentic Japanese dining experiences whether it's watching a chef prepare your meal from scratch on a sizzling teppan grill, letting your favorite ingredients simmer to perfection in a hot pot, tasting the flavors of the season during an elegant kaiseki meal, or taking an intimate seat at our world-class sushi bar, Tokiwa, to enjoy a one-of-a-kind omakase
Although I don’t eat raw fish, I found some delicious dishes to savor, such as grilled fish, tempura, soup, and more. My husband tried their 10-piece sushi selection and enjoyed it a lot.
I particularly liked their tea, which complements the meal perfectly, and their desserts were delightful.
Overall, Restaurant Suntory offers a great variety for both sushi lovers and those who prefer cooked dishes.

This place was recommended by a friend who frequently visits Japan. If you know real Japanese food, look no further. This is the spot. If you're curious to try Japanese cuisine that does NOT involve Californian rolls, then you're in for a treat. If you don't know what to order, try one of the chef's pick course meals. You will get a little bit of everything on the menu. The dishes are nicely presented, fresh, and delicious! And of course, the whiskeys and their own craft beer are very enjoyable.

Great location, friendly service, and good food. Yes, it is pricy but omakase is generally expensive.
It was a friend's birthday lunch and the first time being here for all of us.
The rice was nice and warm and good fish-to-rice portions. Flounder was my favorite, but you could skip the egg and little disappointed with sea urchin.
We were in a private room and it was very nicely decorated. Simple and clean.
Overall, great experience and perfect for private setting.

The only Suntory restaurant in the U.S. delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience. The service is exceptional, reflecting the high standards you’d expect in Japan.
The sashimi set was incredibly fresh, and the Wagyu A5 beef was absolutely delicious—both standout dishes. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worthwhile.
If you’re looking for a premium Japanese dining experience, Suntory is a fantastic choice.

Made the reservation in advance and email them to have the shun sai zen for autumn 🍁. they will call you to double check with the reservation and make sure what you like to have.
Our seat is right aside the windows so we have a fantastic view of the garden and trees in the mall. I really like the view which made the atmosphere 100% chill and relaxing!
We love the presentation of the food. the food is yummy with the dish comes one after one, I really like the Yuzu juice, steamed mushroom with Beef, the Squid tempura is awesome and rarely see in other places, their rice with the tempura is very tasty with the sauce mixed nicely and good texture/ quality.
The service is good and only one suggestion for the tableware, the quality of chopstick can be improved or change, the current one looks cheap and the texture is a little rough, would lower the overall high quality experience.

We had an amazing dining experience here. Staff was very attentive though the pace of service was a tad on the slow side due to the volume of people that night. The seafood was very fresh. We got the abalone and uni to start which were excellent. The meals we got reminded us of our time at a ryokan in Hakone Japan. Balanced flavours that emphasize the freshness of the seasonal ingredients. Would come back here again. Of note we had a toddler with us and they were able to accommodate.
Update: We came back for dinner again recently. Seafood remains high quality and we were extremely satisfied with the service and food. We each got a set meal which did not disappoint. Price point of this restaurant is high but reflects the quality of ingredients they use. Highlights from this meal include their silken tofu, karaage, pork nabe, and uni sushi bowl!

Just wow. This was a must for us while visiting Oahu and it did not disappoint. We made a 5:30 reservation at the Washoku part of the restaurant and we were seated promptly. The service was as close to being back in Japan as I've had in the US, including a basket for my bag under my chair, rather than on the floor.
Our server was incredibly friendly and kind. We ordered the sukiyaki hot pot course. While waiting we were given a hot towel to cleanse our hands and enjoyed the view and ambiance while waiting.
Every single course was perfect. From plating, to flavor and texture, we were transported back to a ryokan. Our server explained every course and assisted once the hot pot came out. I was pregnant during the trip and she was attentive to any dietary concerns I may have with raw components, which I appreciated greatly. My husbands birthday was a few days prior which I added to the reservation, and they brought a delicious treat for him at the end (which thankfully I also got to try because he was so full).
Absolutely amazing. I would go back here immediately if in the area again.

This was our first time eating at Suntory, we decided to try their Omakase for my birthday. It was delicious! The Chawanmushi, toro, and hairy crab were our favorites. There was nothing really adventurous about the omakase, they did have monk fish liver and cod milk, but that was the extent of what could be considered strange. Both were delicious. The cod milt was part of the chawanmushi which made the egg creamier. Overall, it was fairly standard omkase, great flavors, great ambience, the staff ans service was excellent. The price is pretty consistent with other similar omakases. Definitely worth giving it a try.

I had the sukiyaki meal. Tasty and delicious although the beef was a bit hard. Tenzaru soba was also delicious along with the tempura.
The only complaint was during our meal an employee was cracking and breaking ice which was loud, annoying and distracting. Should have done this prior to opening and not during meal service as there was a table right next to where the employee was doing this.

Have eaten Teppan here 4 times and problems EVERY SINGLE TIME. Service/wait time is poor and they consistently mess-up our reservation request. Fire the children hostesses and hire an adult who can follow simple instructions. No one wants to have Teppan with toddlers. Put the kids/families together at the same table, then maybe we'll come back. Impossible to enjoy $100 meals with kids screaming and climbing.

Had the Teppanyaki experience at Suntory in Honolulu on NYE and everything, including the Wagyu, was delicious. It’s not cheap, but in line with what you expect for the level of the food and the restaurant on Waikiki Beach. I did feel the top-end Suntory whiskeys were over-priced compared to other places I’ve had them.

A somewhat disappointing teppanyaki experience. The location is great, the service is good, and the food tastes decent. However, the restaurant smells overwhelmingly smoky, and by the end of the meal, you feel marinated in the smell—even your clothes carry the scent. This clearly shows their ventilation system isn’t effective at all. Additionally, we ordered two portions of foie gras, and one was noticeably larger than the other, which was a bit puzzling.

My friend and I walked in for dinner without reservation and the hostess was really nice and still managed to squeeze us in even though it was a busy evening, after 30min wait we got seated and our waitress approached us, it was a pretty cold rushed inpatient interaction, we picked some items from the menu based of the pictures, when she came back she told us that the pictures actually don’t represent the items, so we were confused what is actually comes with the course, she didn’t explain anything and just left us saying “i’ll let you browse”, then when we found different items she came by and the same thing happened again, so we were trying to figure out what is actually comes with a course ourselves, absolutely no suggestions or recommendations it just felt rushed, we would take a second to think about the item and she would run away, some other waiter tried to help us out and ask if we have any questions but then we heard our waitress yelling at him for picking on our table, so he left apologizing, we finally decided what we want to order and then she told us that it’s too much for two of us and again left without any suggestions, the food we ended up ordering was fine, but the whole interaction with a waitress completely threw us off, we both under 30y.o so we look young and we were dressed really casual, so it felt like we were judged by her like we don’t have money to spend on this type of restaurant, even tho we each spent around 150$ on that dinner and tip we didn’t even get simple glass of water, at the end it felt like we paid to get traumatized. So if you trying to get dinner there and not being happy with a waitress please have more courage than us and ask for a different waiter/waitress! Had a WAY WAY better restaurant experiences for this type of money, wouldn’t return or recommend

I tried the seasonal Kamameshi Irodori menu and it was wonderful. This is an American outpost of a true Japanese restaurant owned by the Suntory whisky company. They have something for everybody, great sushi, wonderful fish and meat, rice dishes, other seafood, and beautiful fresh sashimi. Obviously good whisky too. If you are interested in some traditional Japanese food I recommend one of the seasonal menus.

We had teppanyaki. The waitress was very friendly and nice. But the food was just average. For a $200+ course, I would have expected fresh wasabi instead of paste for the wagyu. I ordered the wagyu filet medium rare, but it was served all at once on a cold, open plate in an air-conditioned room. The steak quickly cooled down, making it less flavorful, as wagyu is fatty. They should have put more thought into how to serve the wagyu to maintain its temperature and tastes. The lobsters were presented with only the tails and didn’t look like a fresh catch. I don’t feel the experience was worth the value.

Great service and authentic Japanese flavours. However, I was really disappointed with the state of the restaurant and it didn’t live up to its luxurious reputation. The chopsticks were disposable, the kind that you get at cheap sushi takeaways, complete with splinters and uneven split. The bathroom wasn’t very clean with the soap dispensers looking filthy. I just didn’t expect a restaurant where you would easily spend $100 a head to have plastic cracked bottles with homemade labels.
The flavours of food were good, with portions being exceedingly tiny. The spicy poke ($18) was most disappointing, with a small portion of fish and no care put into the knife skills either. Some were big 1.5in chunks, and others were 4 inch long skinny ribbons of ahi. Clearly they used the off cuts of tuna to make the poke. Understandable at that price, but at least attempt to cut the pieces into uniform sizes?
Service was wonderful however. The atmosphere was very calm and quiet but they had super bright overhead lights throughout that wasn’t very ambient or calming. Great for taking pics of the food though I guess.
Not likely to return unless it was comped.

Not sure (at the time of this posting) why the rating for this restaurant is 4.2. It is the only Teppanyaki restaurant in the US that resembles anything you might experience in Japan and the only one with Japanese chefs. Interior design is high end and service is authentic and attentive. Good quality and top notch. Today was our first visit but moving forward will be a regular on our list in Waikīkī.

Was recommended this place. As the best Japanese place to eat in honolulu. They were wrong. Our Hibachi chef was very old acting. He took so long in between our food getting cook that all our most expensive foods were getting cold. I generally like Hibachi places that cook the rice first so at least while their cooking, the more expensive items i can mix it with the rice. If i wanted to experience different meats by themselves, i could buy them at home and just cook it myself. The garlic fried rice is the difference maker for me (my preference), so i love getting my meats and mixing them with the delicious flavorful rice. Our garlic fried rice was awful, it had no flavor, then I asked for more garlic butter, he literally took out some garlic and added oil to it, cooked it until it turned black and added some butter to it and served it to us like it was amazing, I feel like he had an attitude because we asked for more. My wife's steak had a small price of fat on it, instead of cutting it off and discarding it, he literally cut it off the steak and cooked it until it was crisp and put it on her plate to eat, disgusting, Aoki is way better, do not waste your money just because it's expensive, our food was not good at all. I've eating Hibachi in plenty of states, and this was the worst tasting food ever. Our server was good, but she was clueless to our facial expressions. She didn't pay attention that we weren't eating or we were just picking over our food. My recommendation based on my first impression is to not give this place a try. Go to Aoki. Their food was much better

Quite disappointed. We went for the teppanyaki and chose sirloin steak… our medium rare came out medium well. Asked the chef to remake my steak as it’s overcooked and he was NOT happy about it. He left without saying anything and came back with a new steak too cook in front of us. Second time at it and the flavours just wasn’t there. It was an awkward silence and he placed the new steak right on top of the old one. Service and quality of food just didn’t justify the price. Avoid this restaurant at all cost. Better options if you want to spend US$200.

DISGUSTING STAFF! WHAT A SCAM! DISGUSTING SERVICE. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! ITS NOT MANDATORY TO LEAVE AN 18% TIP SUNTORY!!!!!!!!!!
Don't get fooled. We left a 15% tip and the old female waitress chased after us yelling at us because we did not leave an 18% tip. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. I kindly reminded her that it is NOT mandatory to leave 18% like they write on the cheque. I suggest other guests remind her of this very obvious point also. It’s not a fun place. The chef hardly spoke to us and I do agree with previous reviews that have accused this restaurant of being racist. Not smart Suntory considering most of the patrons present when we were dining were of Caucasian decent not Asian.

Multiple menu items were not available, not because they didn’t have the food items but because they didn’t have the cooks to prepare it. Said they were too busy but we and one other party of four were the only ones in the restaurant. Once our substitute meals came they each came about 10-15 min apart so others had to wait an extraordinary amount of time. 3 of the four dishes were Tempura shrimp but no sauce was included with the plating. Each person had to ask separately for tempura sauce as the waitress never figured out that each plate should come with it. For a renowned restaurant the service was well below average. The food was good but due to their poor planning, we had to change what we were originally coming there for.

If you are looking for a very high end teppanyaki like what you may experience in Tokyo Ginza, you will be disappointed. This is more like a better version of Benihana, but don’t expect too much.
Lobster tail & abalone are slightly above average. Overall flavoring is quite salty & mostly by soy sauce. Hard to taste the freshness from the seafood. My steak is overcooked.
Overall set your expectation right before coming

It's a bit overrated in my opinion. You're mostly paying for the brand. Personally, when it comes to sushi quality, there are better Japanese restaurants in Honolulu. The waiting staff were really nice and professional. The Hibachi chef seemed a bit pessimistic. If you're looking for a fun interaction with the hibachi chef, you might not find it here. The Teppanyaki wasn't that impressive. The wagyu steak was as expected, but it had a lot of fat. I actually preferred the sirloin over the wagyu. If you're aiming for a nice ambiance, this place might be suitable. However, if you want to treat someone to great food, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I have been to many teppanyaki restaurants and expected the same type of fun atmosphere where the cook puts on a show of cooking the food. Suntory is not the place to go if that is what you are looking for. Our cook didn’t say one word to us other than “how do you want your steak cooked?”
The food tasted fine but the servings were EXTREMELY SMALL. I ordered the shrimp and scallops ($40) and got 2 shrimp and 2 scallops. I am not a big eater but even I was still hungry after the meal. Everyone in our party felt the same way.
Lastly, the smoke from the cooking tables was a bit overwhelming. I would not go back nor would I recommend to a friend.

don't come here if you're expecting a show and the staple teppanyaki experience... the food is very good and is prepared in front of you, but that is it. the cook didn't talk to us at all, and didn't do any of the fun stuff we were expecting (fire, tossing the knives, onion volcano, etc). the portions were also very small, i left still hungry after a very expensive meal with many courses because there just wasn't enough of anything (and so did my entire party). i looked around to the other tables, and it seemed like all the cooks were like this, it's not like we just got unlucky. so if you're looking to go out to teppanyaki for an entertaining meal, i would look elsewhere especially with how pricey everything is at suntory.

The Teppanyaki chef looked depressed as if he just lost his life savings, didn’t put up a smile and his skills were mediocre. The appetizers taste fine and the highlight of the meal was my glass of Suntory premium malt beer! Definitely not worth the price I was charged.

I got the US Filet which was cooked medium. It was seasoned well enough and was pretty good. The sesame sauce had horseradish in it which is a miss for me. The Ponzu sauce with radish was the better between the only two choices. The salad came in a glass which was unique but a bit hard to eat. The fried rice was a bit on the dry side.
If you're american and expecting yum yum sauce, you won't find it here.
The staff is friendly, the chef had class. They don't do the cheesy show which is kind of nice.

Very delicious foods. They have a reasonably priced lunch menu and well if you’re in Honolulu, why not?! It’s good to have reservations but you don’t have to, but you’ll probably have to wait to be seated. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. This is a fine restaurant where you can sit watch some expert chefs cook up some delectable food right in front of you. They have reserved section for sushi lovers but a little out of our price range. The pictures make it look like a once in a lifetime experience. Service was excellent!

An overpriced location and suggest giving this one a miss. The food was ok at best but the restaurant has no atmosphere and the chefs do little to provide any interaction or fun.
If you like sitting at a table and watch a chef cook next to you in silence without speaking or interacting with you and like your servers to have a healthy dose of narcissistic attitude (bordering on rudeness) then this place is for you.
Don’t get drawn in as it looks a very nice restaurant however in this case looks are deceiving.
I don’t leave one star reviews as I feel it unnecessary but on this occasion I was tempted.
Our final bill for the evening was $650 (not including tip). Spending this type of money, Waikiki has so many other better options. Save your money and spend it at a better quality establishment would be my advice.

The location, decoration and reviews were promising. However, the teppanyaki experience left much to be desired. The service was very slow. The chefs do not put any effort into a performance or make any conversation. It is a glorified version of hibachi at Arirangs dare I say it. The wagyu was delicious, but everything else felt subpar.

We made lunch reservations as we had heard good things about this restaurant. The lunch menu is really well-priced for what you get and the quality is there. I had the grilled mackerel and sashimi for $28. I feel like throughout our trip, that was one of our cheaper meals (that wasn't food court) and absolutely one of the best meals we had. I don't mean to compare this to fast food and food courts, but I was stunned as to the value of our meal. I would absolutely go back on our next trip here.

Best place we ate! Go for lunch for incredible set menus around $40 each. The black cod and Buri sashimi were the winners!

Tepanyaki. Chef cooks on grill in front of you. Nice atmosphere. Attentive staff. Can go with the meal cooked and brought to your table. Reservations recommended. Royal Hawaiian shopping Center. Parking can be a bit confusing nowadays but not bad.

Over the years of staying in Waikiki, I had grown a habit of not dining in the Waikiki area because I hardly had good experiences with the restaurants in this area. This time, I had reserved a downtown restaurant for dinner. But then my wife missed her lunch earlier and wanted to get some good sushi to calm down her stomach. So we went to Restaurant Suntory. The restaurant is well-decorated with a modern Japanese atmosphere. The table arrangement in the Japanese dining area is reasonably spacious and comfortable. The service is very good and attentive, one of the best among all the restaurants in Honolulu that I have been to in the past 10 years. We ordered a 2-person Washugyu, Sukiyaki-style. The waiter came to start the pot at the table, which was interesting to watch for the first-timer having an Asian hot pot. Another dish we ordered was the 10-piece sushi special assortment. I could appreciate that the sushi was made of high-grade raw fish, but its taste felt old like it had not been prepared in the restaurant, particularly the rice. It was not bad or something like that. It was just tasted ordinary and common, like the ones you got in Genki’s. It was a total disappointment for a restaurant with three dollar signs. I guess I mostly paid for the service and deco.
Other than the sushi, the rest of the dining experience was good and above. But next time I will stick to my principles, and go to a non-touristy place if I want a satisfactory good meal.
(I dined at this restaurant on the night of Dec 10, 2023.)

I have been to Santorini restaurants in Japan at Tokyo and Sapporo . The food and services are excellent. However at this particular restaurant when I went with my family we ordered the most expensive Chefs Choice menu which cost a fortune. However we were disappointed. The food is OK. However the Chef and waitress has attitudes and racism. They are very polite to Japanese but not others.

Parking was good. The service was awesome. The food brought me back to Japan. It was soo delicious.
I highly recommend this place for a night out for fine dining japanese food. It's our new go to place.

TLDR: Restaurant Suntory is basically three restos in one. We did the Teppanyaki and although pricy, very tasty if you're looking for an elevated experience. Basically think grown-up Benihana without the onion volcano.
This was our last meal in Waikiki and I love the idea of restaurants within a restaurant. We opted for the extended tasting menus (sans lobster) and got a US filet and a wagyu filet to compare both. While the wagyu was certainly a bit more tender and super delicious, I wouldn't say it was far beyond the flavor of the US filet. If the US filet was at an 8, the wagyu brought it to maybe a 9.
Definitely get the garlic fried rice and it is a fair bit of food so come hungry. The panko shrimp was exceptionally good. Crispy, garlicky, just the right amount of bounce on the shrimp.
I would definitely come here again and I'd love to try the traditional restaurant and/or the sushi bar. Service team here was top notch as well.

Great quality service and food is exceptional
Had the wagyu steak and shrimp tempura.
The juice is prime fresh (you squeeze it at your own table) and the ambience was delightful.
Could use a tad bit of A/c in the dining area but hey this is Hawaii.

We had the teppanyaki and we chose the royal course. The sashimi, the clam chowder, everything was delicious. We paid extra for the garlic fried rice and it was worth it. The beef was excellent. They have drinks made with Japanese whiskey and gin. They have a martini made with vodka and sake! The service was great. Our reservation was at 6:30 and they didn’t start the cooking until a little bit later, but that was ok with us.

Food was excellent. We had little kids with us and so were ineligible for the omakase but we thoroughly enjoyed the Washoku menus. We wanted to try everything, and we also wanted to give our kids options in case they were unwilling to try more things than we had hoped. We ended up ordering two course meals Hibiki and Toki" between two adults and two small children and enjoyed every item served including the unique dessert selection. Certainly not dishes we get to sample on a daily basis in California. Everything was cooked perfectly and served at the appropriate temperature whether it was a cold or hot item. The quality of the meat and other ingredients were top notch and fresh. Simple but very impactful flavors.
We also have no complaints over the restaurant ambiance. Restaurant, seating, and even the restrooms were spacious and well maintained. There were even cotton swabs, mouthwash, etc. in the restrooms in addition to washlets.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Great service. Apparently they no longer serve foie gras, which was one of my favorites. 😥

This place is a scam. We racked up our bill to $350+ full and unsatisfied; the soup and dessert were good though. The atmosphere and service were good, but the food to me is totally not worth it in my opinion. Could be because we had way better food where we are from. We paid for the most expensive 2 preset meals, beers, and a pineapple juice that says "fresh squeezed" or something like that. TURNS OUT, we had to manually juice it out ourselves, BUT the hawaiian pineapple juice was delicious... lol. Also, I ordered the macadamia nut tofu (just to try it) that was already part of our preset menu, and the server did not even tell us or remind us that it's a duplicate order which also turned out to be disgusting. One and done restaurant. I rather eat fresh poke bowls from supermarkets.

Went for lunch to try out their July’s Shunsai-zen special. Made reservations on Resy and emailed them to order the special beforehand.
The first set came with tuna and squid sashimi, summer vegs with tosazu jelly, and Japanese style corn soup. This set was refreshing on the pallet since it was a hot and kind of humid day. The summer vegetables with tosazu jelly was really tasty.
The second set was fried shrimp with tartar sauce, salad with miso cheese dressing, and ginger pork. Really likes the miso cheese dressing. The ginger pork was decent, didn’t tasted fatty. Wished the fried shrimp was tempura style, but it was good too.
The last set came with udon with a hint of curry as the soup base, and fruits almond tofu dessert. The hint of curry in the udon soup was perfect because curry can be over powering. Soup was light. Really like the almond tofu dessert! It was perfect to finishing off the sets.
The staff was friendly and took the time explaining the items in each set. They also have highball drinks using Suntory whiskies.
They have validation for parking, but if you’re kama`āina or military then you can go down to Royal Hawaiian customer service center and get a 3-hour validation with your receipt!

Decent entry level Japanese fine dining spot.
At Restaurant Suntory, the space is neatly divided into two sections - one focusing on the intricacies of Kaiseiki cuisine and the other on Teppanyaki. On this occasion, luck favored us with a last-minute reservation for the latter.
We decided on the Royal Course featuring an array of seafood. Our meal commenced with an artistic tray of various Japanese appetizers – sashimi, salad, and more. Although satisfying, the quality was akin to what you might find in a competent mid-tier restaurant in Japan.
Prior to Teppanyaki, we were also presented with a tomato-based clam chowder. Coming from Boston, I found the umami from the tomato as a rather unique, yet odd, departure from the traditional bacon-infused chowder, almost veering into creamy tomato soup territory.
The main Teppanyaki course was a trilogy of seafood dishes, beginning with panko lobster tail, followed by a combo of scallops & shrimp, and finally, a pairing of tuna & salmon. The ahi tuna was a standout, cooked flawlessly to medium-rare, while the shrimp, tender and succulent, delivered a sublime texture.
As the curtain closed on the Teppanyaki stage, a bowl of garlic fried rice made its appearance. It was a touch bland, which, paradoxically, elevated the aroma of garlic and green onions. The finale was a refreshing melon pudding, its pleasing melon scent and silky texture serving as a palate cleanser to wrap everything up.
Teppanyaki at Suntory may not come with the traditional smoke and mirrors one might associate with this type of cuisine, but it offers an experience that's rich in flavor, showcasing quality ingredients and delivered with professional service. A solid choice for anyone seeking an authentic, unembellished Teppanyaki experience.

We went for the seppan (small dishes) and it was beyond expectation. The courses are pricey but it was well worth it. The included waygu was the best I’ve ever had. The service was really good too (thanks Ashley). Book early!

Food itself is pretty good, wagyu is Japanese one instead of American which is super fatty, I personally loves American steak more because it’s leaner.
The chef is pretty silent, just stand there cook and do his job without talking…not sure if chatting with customers to introduce the dishes is the basic requirements for Omakasi like restaurant…

My previous experience at Suntory has been five star. Tried steak teppanyaki set menu last night for six. Unfortunately, the chef must be in a rush since cooked my steak, sliced it up and served it all at once. I do not enjoy eating pieces of cold steak. Will go there again but not for teppanyaki.

It's like a fancy, more authentically Japanese version of Benihana. We got the royal course with prime filet. The appetizer tray was decent, the sashimi was good but the small bites were not amazing. Scallops were top tier, prime filet was only a little better than Benihana, and the fried rice was a lighter and not as addicting version of Benihana. Matcha pudding at the end was nice.

Highly recommend!! We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Suntory last night. The food and service were impeccable. We ordered one course set and lots of a la carte items to share as a group of four. My favourite meal in Hawaii (across 4 trips and 3 islands). Thank you!
While everything was absolutely delicious, my favourites were: miso cod, karage chicken, salmon belly, hot udon soup, silky tofu, tofu chicken steak and the passionfruit cheesecake dessert that came with the course set. Go as a small group to maximize the number of dishes you can try.
