I’ll start this with… I’ve eaten a lot of Thai, it’s probably my favorite. With that being said, this was prob the worst I’ve had. The restaurant is cute, service for my take out wasn’t bad. The pad see ew, was the most bland. I’m not sure if this is Americanized or what, the noodles were overcooked and white, they usually have a brownish tint. The broccoli was just bland and seemed it wasn’t cooked in any of the sauce they may have used. The ginger dressing kind of tastes like pine sol. If you’re use to authentic Thai I’d consider PJ Thai in downtown.

I’m new to Thai food I saw the sign walking in the door advertising the special so when I ordered I could’ve sworn I said the whole red snapper special.
food comes and it’s on the money I crush it. Very happy with the food but that bill came and it’s not at all what I was expecting I didn’t say the edamame part so I got whole red snapper.
if you go and see a special I would just like to point out make sure y’all on the page.

Our food was delicious, our server paid little attention to us. She brought the bill and made no mention of ordering desserts. We were by then disgusted with watching her sip a gut buster drink while talking to a man at the bar. We paid and left.

My daughter ordered pad see ew with chicken, which is her favorite Thai dish, and she said it did not disappoint! I ordered the pad kee mao with seafood and it was so delicious! I loved the flavors and the traditional flat rice noodles. The only thing that could have made it better was adding more seafood. It came with 2 shrimp, 3 calamari rings, and 4 mussels.

We were traveling through & just happened upon this place from a Google search of something close by our current location. SO, So glad we did!! We tried several dishes so we could have a snack later also & not only was each thing we tried exceptional but there was enough for a full meal later instead of a snack. Good portions, great tastes & decent prices. Highly recommend!

Food was absolutely TERRIBLE, We used to love it here but the food just sucked. We got pad Thai take out and there was NO sauce on it and no flavor or toppings. Noodles were soggy and overcooked. Extremely disappointing. As a long time customer we will not be coming back here anymore. Such a waste of $50. I could have had better food at chic fila.

This is my 3rd time coming to this resturant. I have to admit I was that person that when you said 'Thai food', I would think that these homegrown Arkansas tastebuds can't deal with that. But some friends brought us here and we have now taken two groups of people here to eat including the 'kids'. The food is very good, the atmosphere is bright but not glaring but in a warm and welcoming way. Portion size and price are good. O, my oldest daughter makes a joke that we (hubby and I) were calling it 'Papa- Ya'. (smile).

Listen. Service is everything to me. You can not, not come back. I finished my margarita, that you said you didn't like. Before my apatizer came out. I loved it. I just sat, no more to drink. The whole meal. You asked of our neighbor table was ok, they gave you the thumbs up. Never asked if we were OK, half way through the meal, with our app plates and dishes still on the table. No more to drink, never asked if my husband ever wanted a drink??? Which is so weird?? You left him thinking until we left! I just can't. He didn't want to tip anything. I made him, for what he did. The pregnant girl, I wish we would of had her. She was smiling and attentive. Toni, Tori, something. You need a new job. 3//1/24

Thanks for my 15th anniversary ❤️. You definitely didn't nail it. Or ask. Or come close. Jeez. I think they should have a third sever, or more pregnant women. She Killed my night. Went and bowled, played pool. Had some drinks. Just DO NOT GO HERE FIRST.

And reservations mean nada. Just show up.

Visited 10/14/23 for a birthday dinner. Made reservations for a party of 10 ahead of time, called and confirmed before arrival. When we arrived they seemed clueless as to the reservation after not greeting members the party for about 10 minutes. They also failed to arrange appropriate seating together for the party. Once we were finally seated the server asked us the customers if they should have 2 servers or 1…weird question. Then she preceded to ask who all would be on what checks as she needed to know before we ordered anything even water. We later heard her tell another party it was only her and one other server working so it further wouldn’t make sense to have two servers on 1 party. Once we were able to give drink orders I asked for one of my favorites a Thai tea to be told they were out. About 15 minutes later a party seated after we were by the other server has a Thai tea brought to their table. I asked that server did they have Thai tea she said yes and brought one over. Our food took a while but understandable with a large party. Once it arrived we were missing items. The server mentioned the missing items but didn’t return to check in. So I approached her at the bar asking for the missing items. When the checks were distributed we were disappointed to see that despite her early request to know how to divide the checks they were still wrong. We also noticed her checking her watch each time a party came in after 8:30, they closed at 9:30. I will say the food was good everyone enjoyed what they had but the service was subpar. It’s probably worth taking the drive to Richmond Hill, same food, but with better and more competent staff and service.

Would definitely eat here again. One of the better places I’ve tried sushi albeit comparing it to some other disappointing experiences. Also ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken at $15.95. Was a little disappointed about the extremely minimal amount of chicken in the dish but it did taste good. For that price I wouldn’t order it again with the small portion and lack of protein I received. At first I thought it was missing the chicken altogether there was that little. Luckily I had a coupon to use on ubereats or I’d have been extremely underwhelmed at the quantity for what I should have paid. The soy sauce container was also so small it was impossible to dip the sushi into. I’m giving it a 4* because it satisfied my craving and was tasty but room for improvement. Looking forward to try other dishes.

This establishment was recommended to me as a really good place to get sushi. So dropped in for a Sunday lunch.

I started with some Miso Soup which was very flavorful. Then went with a Sashimi Platter for the entree. They allowed me to do a substitution from the variety on the menu. The fish was so tender and literally melted in the mouth.

My daughter had a Sashimi appetizer followed by two sushi rolls. All was delicious.

Well worth visiting for a very reasonably priced lunch.

I called in my order expecting to get a dinner portion, but was shocked to receive this. It was $27 for these two VERY small portions. I called back to confirm my order with them, saying that “I’m pretty sure I paid for dinner portions but got a lunch portion.” The young lady who answered said that I got the “lunch” portion of green chicken for $11. 95 and shrimp massaman for $13.95. It’s clearly not worth it, and I will never be ordering from them again, it is a rip off. Anyone reading this needs to go to Sawaddee Ka Thai Cuisine & Pho at 111 Canal Street where they have literally DOUBLE the amount of food for a much more reasonable price, and if that didn’t help you make a better choice today than consider the fact that their food genuinely taste better. The only reason we ended up ordering from Papaya was the fact that Sawaddee Ka’s phones were too busy at the time and I really wanted curry. My fault for not waiting for good food and this is what I get, never again. Papaya’s saving grace would definitely be the young lady who answered my call, she was nice and accommodating, so that’s why I’m not bringing back the food for a refund and why this review isn’t a one star. I hope you can better Papaya and maybe one day you’ll get happy clients again.

Also why is the chicken green? This is the first time I’ve experienced a restaurant that dyes their protein…

My wife and I tried this place because we drive by it all the time and got curious. We looked at the reviews and thought it was worth a try. I’m so glad we did. We’ve since been back several times because of the consistently delicious food, great cocktails, and impeccable service! The owner looks to be a veteran (bonus points) and we like like to support local business. We had dinner there again for date night last night and it was busier than I’ve ever seen it! That made us happy because we love to see a business thriving that truly deserves it. Our waitress, who we’ve had before and is so great, explained how busy it was and that food may take just a little longer. It didn’t. The kitchen was as efficient as always and staff was as friendly as always with the owner waiting tables, working the bar, and servers bussing tables. Everything was FLAWLESS! It’s a quiet and romantic atmosphere with incredible food and first class service, what’s not to love! To the owner, I wish you continued success. Your business deserves it! To our waitress, thank you again for the flawless service!

First and last time here!
I ordered the Pad Thai to-go. When I got there customer service was TERRIBLE! The bartender continued his conversation at the bar (I won’t disclose what they were talking about) instead of greeting me or letting me know anything. I ordered take out because I couldn’t afford to sit in and eat and tip. I got the bill and a tip was already added on! If that was the case I definitely would’ve sat inside.
Now on to the food. DISGUSTING! I didn’t finish my food because it was so bad I just had to toss it. There were more bean sprouts than noodles, it was very dry…no sauce at all and no peanuts, I asked for extra limes and only received 1, my veggies weren’t green they were grey because they weren’t fresh, I ordered chicken Pad Thai… why were there pieces of beef in my food. I cannot eat beef so that was another reason why I didn’t finish the food. Food definitely wasn’t fresh and I will not go back. Hopefully they make improvements.

It was ok. Wanted to take out initially but decided to eat in, therefore we were treated as such. I ordered a mai tai for a cocktail which I regret because it’s nothing but a mixture of artificial sweeteners and coloring.
Have gone back for take out only, if they are even open anyway.

Let me start with saying it would be a 4.5 stars but I'm going to round up instead of down...

Food was great with the exception of the Unakyo (eel) roll. My favorite sushi to get is the eel wasn't a fan of theirs. The sauce on the top of the roll tasted like French dressing. The reason behind 4.5

Back to the review... We ordered a full spread ordered spring rolls and the tuna stuffed fried avocado (monkey brains) both were really good.. I ordered the Unakyo as stated above wasn't impressed very thin piece of eel usually prefer a hot eel roll. House salad and Miso soup ginger dressing was pretty good had a nice little spice kick to it. Miso one of the best Misos we've had. Ordered the Green Curry (w/chicken) that was amazing some of the best curry I've had from a restaurant nothing beats home cooked Vietnamese and Indian curry love having friends from other countries!! Also ordered the Thai Fried Rice (w/chicken) it was pretty good. Overall would still rate you a 5 was pretty impressed by the food. Service was good they were quick to keep the empty plates cleared and drinks full.

Went on a date night with my husband last week and I'm still dreaming about the yellow curry. A simple dish, but it was so good. The first I've ever had it. We also ordered the sampler appetizer which was recommended by our waitress--it was amazing. My husband ordered the lamp chops and said they were wonderful (I did not get to try any, he ate it too fast). I also had a sangria for $10 that I sucked down, not too strong and they had a ton of flavors. It's a good place for someone interested in thai/fusion but isn't sure where to start. There menu was safe enough for anybody! I can't wait to go back and will be spreading the word about this awesome place!

Wish I could give zero stars. John has horrible customer service, I cannot believe he’s a manger. Was double charged on Saturday June 12th because of a simple misunderstanding with spring rolls on a Togo order. I ordered 2 spring rolls, not two sets of spring rolls. Let me mention, me and my friend did a take out order and this was our first time here. Because of the misunderstanding with the spring rolls, everything had to be re-rung up and charged. Later we called on Thursday June 17th letting them know the refunds didn’t come. Unfortunately John picked up the phone, and was yet again having an attitude and said that the refund should be back by Saturday. So i was patient and waited until Saturday came. This is, June 19th. I waited until 7pm to call to see if the refund would come since it’s been a whole week and my card was still double charged. John picked up AGAIN and was arguing, yet again over the phone, that it was my banks fault and not the restaurants. Keep in mind, me and my friend both were charged twice. So how can it be both of our banks, when we have different banks? So I asked to speak with the owner of the restaurant, who he said “wouldn’t be there until Sunday”. I asked if he could leave my number for the restaurant owner he said “she’s too busy”. Then hung up after saying “whatever”. I’m sure every restaurant owner is busy, but they should MAKE time to right their wrongs. I called back again, this time he was really getting an attitude, he heard my friend in the back say “call the BBB because they clearly don’t want to help you. ” John didn’t like that and said “tell your friend in the back to stop talk talking s____ (cuss word), because we don’t have to help you with anything”. This was when the line was DEFINITELY crossed. John was rude from the beginning but this was extremely disrespectful. Horrible customer service, I can’t believe this guy is a manger. All I wanted was my money back, since I was double charged. I will NEVER come here again!

Absolutely amazing each and every time we come through. From the check in to the bar to the food. Everything is fantastic. The servers and bartender are very attentive and the drinks are excellently made. Service is also quick despite not having a lot of employees.

The food comes out piping hot every time and the presentation is excellent! The portions are just enough and never too much. The food is delicious and always tastes fresh. The servers and bartenders are extremely friendly as well. Overall, we make a note to come here at least once a month just because the bartender is awesome.

If you would like to have an exhilarating dining experience, this the perfect place for you! My family and I will not only add Papaya to our favorite restaurants' list but it is on the very top 3. What an amazing experience. The food... Oh the food... We had a crispy rolls which was one of the best Vietnamese style egg rolls we have ever had in Georgia. Our 10 year old daughter ordered pho. Her words were "momma this was the best pho since we left California". I ordered a spicy tuna roll. Great choice. It had a little Tai chili twist. We also tryed the Pad Se Eu, a stir-fried flat rice noodles with veggies, pork, tossed in a delicious black bean sauce. John, the manager is wonderful and made sure we had VIP service. Last but not least, the salted caramel cheese cake is to die for!

I had a huge craving for Thai food, and my Pad Thai was on point! But we also got the sizzling duck, we just didn’t know there was a sauce choice, so when we hesitated to decide, our server (who I think was in training) offered the sauce on the side for us. We agreed confusedly, even though there was no need for it, we were just surprised we had a choice between two styles and maybe took to long to answer? I don’t know for sure.

A bit later, a manager came out and let us know the chef wanted us to be aware if the sauce is on the side that the duck wouldn’t be “sizzling”. We both immediately said “oh that’s totally fine!” considering we didn’t really come up with the idea for it to be on the side in the first place. She looked concerned and asked us if we were sure. We said “absolutely”.

The food came out and like I mentioned earlier, the Pad Thai was on POINT, and a great portion size too! Absolutely fantastic. Oh, the Avocado Rolls were amazing as well, we had them as an appetizer. Highly recommend them.

Unfortunately, the duck came out with the sauce on the side. We kicked ourselves for confusedly agreeing at first with the server in training who suggested it. We didn’t mention that the duck was over cooked because we felt it to be partially our faults, even though we assured the manager that the duck could certainly be cooked within the sauce and we’d be perfectly happy for it. Instead of causing a problem we enjoyed our meals - mine being perfect - and took our leave.

Keep in mind if you go, hospitality is suffering right now due to understaffing. So I don’t want to be too hard on this place especially since they seemed to try and get it right for us but missed the mark a little bit.

Aside from the strange miscommunications and overcooked duck, it had a lovely atmosphere, seemingly full bar, & was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it for anyone who is craving Thai!!

This is a nice place to have family dinners with friends and family, good combination of food and good ambience, they get very busy on the weekends to be prepared to have a waiting list. The must try dishes are the dumplings, tom yum soup, pad thai, thai friend rice, pad kee mao, sweet basil chicken, green and red curry, they canale any dish vegetarian and vegan. They have an elaborate sushi menu as well but I would recommend to stick to the thai menu, they have a little selection of beer and wine and sangria's as their special. Highly recommended for a date night or a girls night out in pooler! They are very clean and are following all CoVID precautions.

This is the best Thai food I have had anywhere around Savannah!! The variety of dishes that fit my dietary needs made it hard to choose, most often my choices are limited. There's 6 more dishes that I HAVE to try. The pad se eu was so flavorful I couldn't believe it and for an amazing price. I can't wait to come back!!
