Excellent sushi place that has great service,very fresh sashimis and beautiful presentation of the plate! Glad to find this around the corner of our neighborhood. The oysters were supper fresh. The combo was a great deal- top notch sashimi and sides. I would recommend to anyone who want to have a great sushi meal.

this place exceeded my expectations!! it’s the perfect oasis to spend time with loved ones and eat fresh, delicious food. the servers were so welcoming, and the chef himself even checked on our satisfaction! gotta say the oysters were by far the star of the show - shipped directly from the ocean, you can still taste the salty goodness. the sushi and ramen portions speak for themselves, definitely worth every dime. thank you guys for making my birthday special, will definitely be back for more!!!

The menu was overwhelming, with pages of entrees, a separate sushi menu, plus a daily specials. While there were plenty of options, the restaurant seemed to lose focus on its main dishes. We ordered these dishes for dinner:
Poke Bowl - Assorted mix of tuna, salmon, and yellow tail. Served with Seasonal assorted vegetables with Korean pepper paste. 🍣
An appetizer avocado roll.
Fish soup with udon.
The service was mediocre.

Really lovely sushi restaurant with a perfect mix of Japanese and Korean cuisine. We ordered the Toro sashimi set, and two rolls as well as the happy hour oyster special. Everything was really fresh. The Oysters were really big - and very clean and fresh! The accoutrements were perfect - wasabi was fresh and strong, the lemon was juicy and tart, and the cocktail sauce had the perfect mix of horseradish. The toro set had nice thick slices of fish -- beautifully fatty and soft bites. Sushi rolls were generous. The eel atop one of the sushi rolls... they used a lot of eel. Yum!
Don't sleep on this place. I will be back for Oysters and sashimi!

Genuinely a wonderful experience. We got the $50 toro set along with their happy hour oysters ($1.50/per oyster). Everything was delicious and very good quality. With that price point you cannot beat it either. The staff there were so generous and attentive to our needs. It’s my first time eating here with my partner and definitely one of those restaurants you would want to add to your list. Would highly recommend coming back again. Already thinking about that toro belly sashimi as I am writing this review!

Great oysters and lunch specials. The oysters were a nice size. The sushi rolls were fresh. We tried the yummi yummi, spicy yellowtail, and the crunch salmon. The yummi yummi was my favorite. Service was good. They have a nice sake collection. The house cold sake was smooth.

Ambience is very cute and welcoming, there are so many plants. The sushi is well executed, you could taste each ingredient. The yellowtail carpaccio was odd (garnished with fresh jalapeño and olives..?), but we still enjoyed it. Their fried rice is also delicious and tastes like it's straight off a hibachi grill! They served Korean sides dishes in the beginning and adorable yogurt cups at the end. We've been here twice and the first time was better, the second time service was very slow and there was less fish in the rolls, so not super consistent. Nonetheless, I would recommend.

Our first visit but also our last. This restaurant is nicely decorated, yet both food and service is mediocre. Totally unfriendly service.
We had some lunch special rolls. Nothing special. The included salad was iceberg lettuce with the most tasteless dressing next to it. The miso soup and rolls were just okay.

I started my meal with one of the best-kept secrets of Oystra Sushi & Kitchen: their happy hour oyster special. These oysters were fresh, succulent, and an absolute steal. It’s a fantastic addition to their already impressive menu and a delightful way to kick off the meal.

Next, I warmed up with the clam chowder soup. This hearty soup was rich and creamy, filled with tender clams and perfectly seasoned. It was the perfect way to prepare for the sushi delights to come.

My husband and I always come here for special events and the food is always so flavorful and fresh.Omakase leaves you full and satisfied and is very well priced compared to other restaurants in Atlanta.The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and greet us as if we’re family. The restaurant is very cozy and they have the cutest trinkets for each season. The chef always come to check on us and occasionally gives us dishes to try on the house. 10/10 food, service, and ambiance.

Best sushi experience we've found in the North Atlanta area. Rolls are delicious, fish quality is always good, service is prompt and friendly. The non sushi Korean dishes are also very good. I recommend the squid with cold noodles.

If you're looking for Japanese food, don't waste your time. I can't speak for the Korean side of the menu, as we didn't order those dishes. The sushi was not fresh and the sushi rice was awful. Also servers were prompt but not knowledgeable and lack of communication due to language. I'm sorry, I'm out on this one.

Went here for the first time and experience was excellent by the younger waiter. BUT:

2nd time around, it was not what I expected. We got waited by an older lady there and she made it known that we did not belong. She made it seem like back tables were reserved and sat us in a cramp space. She was annoyed that we had kids and did not even offer to make sure there was enough seating. I had to get more chairs from the RESERVED table. She was giving us an attitude when we requested SERVICE.

It was 3 adults, 2 kids, and a baby and she told us that we were a party of 6 so 20% tip. Which was not right because she did not deserve it.

The portions compared to the race that they serve with respect were different and the level of attention was different also.

I do not recommend coming here if you are not the particular race they serve. Read the previous 1 star reviews and you will know. They are not kid friendly and people friendly.

Hope they correct this, especially the attitudes from the older servers.

They took action and corrective this! I give this place an A+

The restaurant provided outstanding service even though we arrived without a reservation during a busy period. Despite waiting for half an hour and being seated in the bar area, we were pleased with their attentive care. The food was excellent, especially the fresh sushi. They also surprised us with complimentary dishes and desserts. The owner and staff were exceptionally polite during our entire visit. Give them a try!

We went here for a late night dinner for our parental night when we didn't want what we had at home. We ordered the Fish Katsu, vegetable fried rice with Spicy Chicken Ramen. They were exceptional.

They were good, and my wife goes there at least 2 times a week now.

We can't wait to try the sushi.

I’ve been coming here for the past two years, my ex and I used to come here pretty frequently for date night and then I started coming here with my grandparents. Every single time Ive been here, the food has been divine! The staff always recognizes me and treats us like family here. My grandfather recently passed and they asked where he was and hugged my grandmother once i told them. I cannot oversell how great this place is. The staff, the food, and the prices are all great!

Oystra Sushi & Kitchen regularly overcharges above menu prices posted on their website. The last pickup should have been $44 and was $64 at the register because of extra charges and overcharges. Ask for fried rice instead of white rice and they charge an extra $5. But they consistently charge several dollars over every posted menu price. Their meals are also getting smaller. Vegetable fried rice may have a tablespoon of finely shredded carrots only, not enough or any egg to see visibly. Add chicken or shrimp that doubles the price and you may get a 1/4 cup of meat of tiny shrimp and small cubed chicken. I'm done with them and will never order again.

This place is excellent. All of the seafood is super fresh and excellent quality. They have a good variety of food including great Japanese and Korean items for anyone who isn’t feeling sushi.

The ambiance is very nice. Chill background music. Well decorated. Plates came out looking very artistic and delicious looking. The restaurant had a zen vibe.

The shrimp tempura and clam chowder were a hit with the kids. The bacon scallops were really good. They were on the rarer side but super sweet and delicious. The sashimi was really fresh and tastes great. The korean galbi was good. The staff were also great and very kind. I would highly recommend this place.

First of all, there is a RUDE old Korean lady at the counter. The way she speaks Korean to us was way too rude, and my parents and i was disappointed. Young guy server and sushi chefs were nice and respectful. That rude Korean lady at the counter seems she is not really matching to that place. Nice above average atmosphere? But below average counter lady!

We have also tried the chicken teriyaki and was cooked well but needed a little more seasoning. Always have cute desserts

There is no reason this restaurant should have anything less than 5 stars across the board! We went with 7 people and the staff was attentive the entire time and nobody had a bad word to say about anything we ate. Hands down best food in town! Our out of town guest insisted that we eat here every time they come in town and, I have to say, we aren’t objecting! I’m sure we will be returning just about every week!

Ordered take out via Uber Eats. The food is delicious but the portions were unbelievably small (the fried calamari which cost almost $20 came with 7 pieces and was ice cold). Outrageously overpriced and it seems almost intentional to screw over people not dining in. Our entire meal pictured here cost around $85 taking Uber fees out. No other restaurant in the area is this overpriced. Just a warning to anyone considering delivery or take out.

오마카세를 먹었습니다. 음식도 맛나고 분위기도 좋은데 워크인을 받는 횟집에서 오마카세는 아닌것 같습니다. 손님이 밀어닥치는 시간이 되면 서빙인원은 한정되 있는데 한테이블에 10번 넘게 서빙해야 하는 오마카세는 손님도 서버도 모두 부담스러울 것입니다. 또 오마카세 코스 메뉴는 테이블에 남겨두시는게 좋을듯 합니다. 손님 입장에서 앞으로 나올 음식이 얼마나 되는지 알아야 답답하지 않습니다. 메뉴를 가져가 버리니 음식이 나오다 끊기면 오마카세가 끝난건지 더나올 음식이 있는지 몰라서 두리번 거리게 됩니다. 하지만 음식도 분위기도 서버분들도 다 좋았습니다.

샐러드는 접시째 냉장보관되었던 하루쯤 전에 담아놓은 샐러드.
사시미와 초밥은 비린내가너무 심해서 몇점 못먹고 나왔다. 오는길에 속이울렁거려서 혹시몰라 구충제 사먹었다.
친절함은 감사하지만 사시미집에 사시미가 싱싱하지 않다면 갈이유가없다.

This is our family’s favorite restaurant recently. I went twice in one week for my bday week and mom chose Oystra as her bday meal too. We got the omakase to share amongst three people and it was more than enough food. We left feeling full and happy. The food quality is amazing for the price and the menu continues to change so we still have the element of surprise even after going multiple times. The decor is very cute and seasonal. We love it here and will continue to be back.

Not friendly towards black customers - Manager pretended to have a reservation in the back section where plenty of tables were available. We noticed all the patrons in that section were Asian. I believe they only reserve the best sections for their Asian customers. We were spoken to like dogs. We left. Try Sushi Cafe up the street. Much better service.

I didn't expect this place is so good! Most delicious sushi on the US east coast I tried here so far. Highly recommend to try dancing shrimp rolls. I love that waiters come to the table only if you press the button right nearby. Atmosphere is very cozy. You will hear a lot of Chinese language around, you will enjoy to see how people of another culture celebrate their family events. I will return to try other amazing dishes from their menu.

I LOVED my upbringing in Duluth but never in my life would I have thought you could get this level of Asian food in my hometown! Mr. Shim (former owner of Happy Sumo and one of my dad’s closest friends) sold Happy Sumo last year and recently started working at Oystra because he just didn’t want to sit at home…he told us he really enjoys just making sushi and slicing sashimi without the stress of owning a restaurant…it makes me happy to see him happy…no picture of dad because we sat at the sushi bar and before I could figure out the best way to get a picture of him the food just started coming out! All my Duluth, NE Atlanta peeps, if you want sushi, this is up there with Sushi Mito in my humble opinion…

My favorite sushi restaurant period. They put so much love into their food. The value for what you pay for is AMAZING. The banchan and soup changes all the time and it's like Christmas every time you go cause you're always in for a treat. They treat me like family and I will be a lifelong customer. I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars. It is quaint inside and reminiscent of a Japanese tea house. Although they primarily serve sushi, they have an extensive menu of other asian dishes: Poke Bowl, Ramen, Korean Noodles, Fried Rice, and Teriyaki. Wide variety of hot and cold sushi rolls. I had:
Oystra Sashimi SET (모둠 사시미 세트)* – 18 pieces of sashimi set with Tuna, flounder, salmon, yellowtail with miso soup and ginger salad. It also included tempura and a small pan seared salmon. The sashimi is served on porcelain sashimi rocks. They rocks are stored in a freezer which enhances freshness. My wife ordered the 3 roll combo also served with miso soup and ginger salad. We were surprised with 3 different deserts: yogurt and fruit, cookies and a desert roll. Fish is extremely fresh and the owners came by to introduce themselves. Generous portions #saisson

tl;dr: waited 1 hour after ordering and still didn't get food.

I previously had a good impression of the place based on prior visits. However, in my most recent visit, we only ordered two simple dishes (udon and donkatsu) and after 1 hour of waiting and asking, we were only given the udon. When the waitress visibly told the cooks in the back that they forgot to make our food, they started laughing (and still didn't make it!). It was unclear when the donkatsu would arrive so we decided to check out with just the one dish and came home hungry. I'm not sure why we were treated this way, but we are not going back.

Such an amazing experience! High quality sushi with a flavor twist you would only expect from a high end sushi bar. Being someone who travels for a living, sushi stops are a must for my family. This is a place I would not only visit again but would highly recommend to anyone in the area or if your just passing through to stop in and enjoy the hand rolls. I recommend the “Hit Roll”. The chefs are talented and eager to deliver fresh sushi every time.

Great place for sushi and Korean food! Servers are attentive and food is delicious. I've had sushi, Sashimi, the Sashimi rice bowl (Hwe dub bap), and hot food: udon, dolsot bibimbap (hot bowl of mixed rice, meat and veggies) and it's all been good. A nice go-to for good Korean/Japanese.

If you're looking for delicious sushi (or Korean BBQ) then you can stop looking. Friendly service, nice décor and atmosphere with the added fun of robot delivery to the table. Bring your appetite as you'll need it if you get the three roll special. Nice added touch of some complementary tidbits before the rolls. AND they have Sapporo on tap. Will be returning. Oh almost forgot... You won't need to worry about having your wallet vacuumed either.

Firstly, I must say that we were delighted with the puzzle answer we received at Oystra! It turns out Oystra is under the same ownership as Sushi Mania, a restaurant we had previously visited and enjoyed their fresh toro. Now, Oystra presents itself as an upgraded version of Sushi Mania, which is really cool!

Both restaurants are tastefully decorated and have a lovely ambiance. However, the most remarkable aspect that sets Oystra apart from Sushi Manira is their some incredible side dishes and new flavors design. The owner's dedication to creating the best fusion of Japanese and Korean styles truly shines. You can experience a culinary adventure by pairing your sashimi with wasabi and ginger, or even salt and seaweed. I absolutely love this innovative approach!

During our visit, we couldn't resist trying the oysters, and they were exceptional.

Two people, a fully table dishes, just $80. I will come again!

I had the pleasant surprise of dining in Oystras yesterday evening having to kill some time between appointments. Who would’ve thought that I would’ve found an oasis of such deliciousness in a strip mall in Duluth. I tried the Bibimap served in the traditional hot stone bowl, which was not only fresh but very filling with a large portion of meats and vegetables. Quite unlike many sushi, restaurants I’ve tried in the past. The staff was very polite and attentive. Offered several samples of other dishes, which were all delicious. From the smoky broth soup to the pungent kimchi to the smoked mushrooms with egg I’ve never experienced anything like this. I came in for a quick bite and had a dining experience. I will never soon forget. It’s not often that I’m on this side of town but I will make a special trip in the future to my now favorite sushi restaurant. Great job guys five stars. Keep up the great work!

This location has seen a few name changes and remodels, but I think Oystra finally broke the code! High end Japanese - Korean fusion, with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I splurged on the Toro Sashimi Plate and was FAR from disappointed. The Sashimi was perfection! On the pricier side, but well worth it in my book!

Amazing omakase and hint of Korean taste throughout the courses. Great selection of sake and good service from staff. The chef was very friendly and explained about the dish in detail. The table we sat was somewhat separated from the main section of the restaurant, and we had to walk up to the server a couple of times to ask for something. Otherwise, the experience was amazing throughout the dinner! I am already a regular here!

Soba was not impressed at all, and the spicy tuna roll was the worst roll I had in my life. Chef told me recipe was changed due to Sriracha shortage, but it should be not for sale.. Fish was sour, and their sushi rice was sour too. (Need serving a spoon for soba soup)

Clean place. Ordered take out. Plenty of sushi choices. Ordered 2 appetizers, calamari and soft shell crab. They were decent. Nothing special, but not too greasy. Worth a try. Got Volcano, Alpharetta and Super Crunch. All 3 were very fresh, clean and tasty. We'll definitely go there to try the sushi at least. Not the cheapest.

IN-CRED-IBLE, I'm from South Florida and been to some of the best Sushi restaurants with much higher prices, I have not felt back there since arriving here. Sushi is fresh, plates were creative, and quality is just on another level. Amazed by the beautiful and eloquent decor inside as well. Price is more than justified here, I will not be going to another sushi restaurant in Georgia, there simply is no need. Friendly atmosphere and service was beyond my imagination. In every category this place beat expectation, a hidden gem inside of Duluth, that will not be a secret for much longer!

Wonderful lunch today! The employees were so welcoming and friendly. The presentation of the food was absolutely stunning and the portions were larger than expected. I ordered the poke bowl and it was one of the best I've ever had! The fish was so fresh and tasty. The calamari appetizer was also delicious. The service was amazing and they were so kind to my 4yr old. They have a little service robot that came and sang happy birthday to our table and my child loved it! We will definitely be back, there were several items on the menu I want to try. Big thank you to our server that made this such a special treat for us!

My sister-in-law invited my husband and I to try this new restaurant because she heard great things about it from her local friends. We were fortunate enough to have their omakase.

The waitstaff and the the chefs were so friendly and hospitable. The service was so pleasant.

All the dishes were fresh and served beautifully. I really appreciated the new dishes and delicacies I had never tried before.

Came for a second time and have to say they get a much deserved fifth star for their consistently high quality of food and this time excellent service as well. Our waitress was very kind and even brought us some complimentary items and was very patient with our young one who was picky and dropped his water cup. The food was on point and the server was excellent and just a 5 star customer service overall. They had uni this time around albeit the uni didn't taste perfectly fresh, but the other nigiri were great. The appetizers we've tried are the takoyaki and tuna tadaki and those were great.
For dessert they gave us a few cookies and yogurt with fruit which were a nice touch.
Prices are a bit high but for the quality it is well worth the price.

5 solid stars for Oystra and 2 thumbs up for this fabulous seafood restaurant!

Original: It was a delicious meal of nigiri and seafood dishes. Japanese food with a Korean touch to it make this a meal to really remember. They were out of uni so I was unable to enjoy that and the service was a little lacking at times but overall the meal was great. 4.2 stars for me.

When I arrived, I was given a menu where it says the $100 Omakase includes lobster sashimu and ramen. But when I tried to order, I was told I need to pay an extra $30 for lobster. I ended up getting a lobster with only one claw (unlike most pics posted by others). And I couldn't even find this only claw after it's made into Ramen - the answer was it got mixed with other clients' soup.

Amazing food and experience at OYSTRA. We ordered 2 sets of meal for $50 and 물회 which was more than enough for party of three. Servers were super friendly and attentive, food was very presentable and delish. Not too many places sells “specialty” tuna parts and 숙성회, but OYSTRA has it all. Went with two of my girlfriends for my birthday lunch. Was the first time for all of us, and we had an exceptional experience! I believe it's a Korean owned restaurant so it's Japanese food with a lovely Korean touch. We all had Poke bowls (pictured) and added a sushi combo. The portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious--sushi and all other food was so fresh! The meal came with a Korean soup (pictured), which tasted like home (& that's saying something because my Mom is a phenomenal cook). They also provided a few other complimentary items, which I thought was so sweet & a lovely touch. Overall, I really, really enjoyed my meal and will definitely be coming back (girlfriends agreed)!

ADDENDUM: I’ve been to Oystra twice since my initial review; New Year’s Eve and a friend’s 30th Birthday. Both times, the food was as delicious and beautiful as our first visit and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Mahalo, Oystra Staff.

Oystra, this Korean-owned sushi and Japanese dining experience, is under new ownership and even better than all the rave reviews it’s been getting on Google and Yelp. The fish is fresh, the dishes are delicious, and the executive chef is truly an artist. I haven’t seen this kind of presentation in Japanese dining since I was in Osaka in 2019-2020. And no wonder. When the owner visited our table, he said he had done his culinary training in Tokyo.
Our server recommended the toro since the restaurant had very recently bought a large section of blue fin tuna so it was extremely fresh. We weren’t disappointed. It was deliciously fresh and the fat content of the fish gave it the required buttery texture that you expect. We went for one of the $50 complete meals and they are big enough to feed two. It came with miso soup, tobiko rice, salad, and so many appetizer items I almost can’t remember them all.
Oystra is a great place for any of your celebrations because the artistry involved in the plating of the dishes contributes to the specialness of your occasion. It was my wife’s 65th Birthday and they made it so we won’t ever forget our dining experience at Oystra. I only hope it doesn’t get too crowded. Haha. 😝😋
