Japanese joint with tableside hibachi steak & creative maki in a relaxed, contemporary space.
I was craving a spicy tuna roll, so my boyfriend and I stopped in by here for the first time! We like hibachi, but we didn’t want to sit at the hibachi tables, and luckily they had many tables for those who want a more quiet meal like us. The staff were very friendly and all smiles, and very attentive to remove finished plates off our table. Hibachi was DELICIOUS, and they made a tasty medium rare steak :). Their spicy tuna rolls are also large compared to other restaurants I’ve been to! We left satisfied and full and would love to come back again in the future! 😊

In the realm of culinary experiences, our recent outing was nothing short of delightful. The service was exemplary, attentive without being intrusive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the stage for the meal to come.
The star of the evening was undoubtedly the bacon and egg fried rice, a dish that harmoniously combined savory flavors with a delightful texture. Each bite was a comforting embrace, enhanced by the vibrant sautéed veggies that added a refreshing crunch.
Equally impressive was the sashimi; its freshness was palpable, the slices glistening with an inviting sheen that promised a burst of oceanic delight.
And let us not overlook the bubble gumple, a whimsical creation that defied expectations. Its playful essence was a perfect end to our meal, leaving us with a sweet, nostalgic finish. Overall, this dining experience was a symphony of flavors that linger long after the last bite.

The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The service was good but could have been a little better. The quality and variety was very good and highly recommend. Will definitely be back. Parking wasn't bad considering it was a Friday night. It is on the loud side but not enough to prevent a return trip.

Taki has been a staple to our week nights. Especially when entertainment is wanted, but we also love their sushi. The owner and staff work their hardest to make sure customers are happy when they leave. The little trinkets sold at the front desk are so fun and make great gifts. We recommend Taki 100%.

Good was okay, big portion, but tasted so so. It took us very long to get the chef came to our table. The waiter acted like he couldn’t care less, he came took our soup like 5 mins after its served when I was still working on it, the chef was not coming I didnt understand the point of taking away the soup bowls so early while there is no food served

Went with the family as we were in the mood for some Hibachi fare.
Made a reservation though it wasn't really necessary as there was plenty of seating.
Waiter was very attentive and kept the drinks full.
The cook starts off with the tool whirling, fires, and other "entertaining" tricks you've seen before. However, it seems more and more as though the effort is diminishing and honestly, I could do without it. Just start cooking and we're good to go.
Typical menu that you'd expect. We had ribeye and shrimp with fried rice. Really good portion sizes and delicious, it always is. Only issue we had was we ordered the steak medium and it was served order to well done. You have to pay close attention when you cut them up in cubes like that as there is a chance you'll overcook the meat.
Salad and soup are a staple of the meal and good as well.
A nice Hibachi spot close to the house should we ever have a hankering for grilled steak, shrimp, and fried rice.
Recommend.

Ordered takeout today 2 hibachi meals and sushi rolls. The sushi roll tasted off so we were scared to finish it 🤮 in fear of being sick later. The fried rice is dry and vegetables tasted old. Don't know what happened with take out... maybe it's been cooked earlier in the day or something? We've been to taki dine-in before and had no problems. Sad to throw away 80 dollars and still have to make dinner..... wouldn't recommend the take out.

The food was great, the chef of.. The ridiculous policy of food having to be prepared in the back if you have any allergy is antiquated and needs to be reviewed. While some allergies can be spread on the teppanyaki table, most of the common ones cannot- especially if the chef knows how to cook.
The purpose of the table and chef is supposed to be the food is cooked separately if needed, as well as to the customer's liking. It would be one thing if it's an allergy that can spread- but when it's a simple one that can be separated while cooking, it should not be an issue. After eating at Japanese steakhouses all over the world (Thailand, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, UAE and the USA- just to name a few) this is the only one where I have run I to an issue being able to get my food cooked at the table due to having an allergy.
Part of the reason to dine in the restaurant is the experience of eating at the table. This place isolates and embarrassed the person with an allergy due to whatever reason. Not a place we will visit again due to this very fact the entire experience cannot be enjoyed. Which is sad due to the food being good and the service, minus the issue, being good.
I recommend ownership review current standards and upgrade appropriately..
And to respond to your response- no other Japanese steakhouses have had issues accommodating simple allergies, such as cooking a fried rice without egg prior to putting egg on the flat top. Also, if the grill is cleaned as it should be between dishes, there is not an issue. As stated, I have dined at various ones world wide and yours is the only one that has an issue. Train your chefs appropriately and there is no issue. No, until your policy changes, there will be no second chance as your policy eliminates the experience that is part of dining. It is like going to see a movie but not being allowed to have popcorn.
Although you feel you are doing something helpful, it is not. Your tables are not smaller than any other ones and your excuse you gave is just that, an excuse.

My family and I went during rush hour and did not wait long to get sitted at the hibachi. Apon sitting down my husband noticed a German cockroach on his menu and then one on his plate. He brought this to the bus boy that happen to be cleaning the table next to us. He switched out the plate and sat back down. Yes, we should have left them but we were told this place was a good place to eat at. The guy comes out with the food and starts cooking, we find another one on his plate again. This time we took it to the manager, she was confused and didn't understand what he was showing her. The owner of restaurant came over and cleaned are whole area. We seemed to be the only ones to be having this issue. The owner was very accommodating and did comp our food. I don't think we will be going back anytime soon.

Cook burnt or over cooked and under seasoned 4 of the 7 meals he prepared. Eggs for fried rice was almost brown from time he finished cooking. This burnt flavor tainted all of our meals. He also failed to provide the usual tray of yum yum sauce

I ordered fried rice entree with steak but originally wanted to get hibachi entree but being that it was my first time I went with the cheaper option to just try first. The portion of food was great. Service was great. They didn’t answer the phone when I tried to call my order in but luckly it’s took less than 10 mins for my order when going in. That was a plus. Here’s why they didn’t get 5 stars. First thing I noticed was the meat was mixed with the rice. I prefer and most places put meat on one side and rice on other. Then without the yum yum sauce the food taste okay. The rice didn’t really taste like fried rice. It’s was lacking some flavors and salt overall. After adding yum yum sauce to everything, my opinion the food was even more distasteful. The sauce had a peanut butter kick to it, and ruined everything. I MIGHT give one more try for the hibachi in the future because the process is different. But never again for take out.

This is my go-to sushi/hibachi restaurant!! They’re so efficient when it comes to packaging, and the service along with the food is always AMAZING!! The sushi lunch special is a LOT of food for a very low price, the hibachi is always fresh and delicious(they even have my custom combo saved), and I’ve never had a poor experience here!! If you order a tuna roll, it will cost you $10. And if you order it with 3 soups, they will put it in the same bag as the soups. So the sushi is NICE AND WARM when you get home. Gross.
Visited 9 months ago
I am thankful to have this healthier option in a town full of fast food. And, they're probably quicker than the supposed fast food restaurants too. They always get our order right, and we know just what to expect.
I am a little torn about whether to mention what I perceived to be lower flavor on the vegetable hibachi. On the one hand, I think it's nice not to have everything so over-seasoned like in some restaurants. I can always add soy sauce. But I do feel like it could be missing some special touch. I never felt that way about the steak hibachi in the past, though, so it could be dish-specific.
I mostly cook at home and don't splurge on eating out very often. I will say that I compared prices and find that Taki is within a reasonable range of other hibachi restaurants, but slightly more expensive. This makes sense, I suppose, because while Dacula has about a thousand cheap chicken-based restaurants, this area of Dacula only has the one hibachi. The next closest one doesn't have veggie options but their prices on other dishes are comparable (and I think higher for sushi).
Overall, I only order from here about once a year, but I will look forward to the next time, too.

We will definitely be back again and again!!!

Last time going here. Fumi is sooooo much better. I had a Hispanic hibachi chef that spoke nothing but Spanish to the other guests at the table. He cooked the rice for 3 minutes (undercooked not hardly fried). The atmosphere needs a refresh, although it's not that dated, something is missing. The experience seemed bootlegged.

I tried to contact the restaurant, but my previous email to them went unanswered and when we left the restaurant no one was at the front to speak with. My husband and I are frequent patrons of this restaurant and have been for years. Our most recent trip to the restaurant will be the last.
Our experience started with the chef arguing with my husband and another patron that they did not get bacon rice. Eventually he said no big deal and requested the bacon. While waiting for it, he continuously informed the table that it was the server’s fault for not writing it on the ticket. Unlike other times, the bacon arrived pre-cooked.
The chef did not use any oil or butter on the rice. He just loaded it with teriyaki sauce. He spent so long verifying the order ticket, the rice overcooked and was dark and brittle on the bottom from being scorched. The chef demanded each person hand them their plate if they got rice. At one point he made two patrons switch their plates because he gave one of them the wrong amount of rice.
I order no rice and extra vegetables instead. I waited the whole meal to have a side dish cooked. When it got to the vegetables, he gave me one serving and then proceeded to give away my extra vegetables to people that ordered double rice and no vegetables. I explained to him that I didn’t order rice and I was supposed to have extra. He argued he gave me rice. I had no rice on my plate. He then checked the ticket and told me it was the server’s fault and he didn’t write it down. He showed me the ticket and it was clearly written no rice, extra vegetables. Additionally, he confirmed before he started cooking. He told me not to worry and gave me the four slices of zucchini and onion left on the grill. He just thanked me for being nice and not complaining and then continued to blame the server. He never once offered to bring me vegetables from the back or correct the issue. It felt uncomfortable and the other patron who received my extra vegetables was very uncomfortable as well.
It was apparent the chef did not want to be there. He was older and I expect he no longer enjoys his job. He did no tricks. The food wasn’t great either. He used no butter, oil, or any other seasoning other than loads of teriyaki. Food was overdone. He often cleaned the grill with a dirty rag. He was also demanding regarding the plates and argumentative when we would correct our order. He blamed the server for mistakes that were not his, which made my party, as well as the other patrons uncomfortable.
We usually go on the weekend, but we will probably never be back. Hibachi is not cheap and it’s insulting to leave hungry because the chef gave away your food and have what food received be unseasoned and overcooked. This is not the quality or experience we want to have at a restaurant we have dined at for years. A search of other recent reviews make several negative mentions of the chef.

My daughter, son-in-law and I went for a special "angelversary". We had decided to go there instead of our normal habachi restaurant because it was recommended by one of my daughter's friends. The atmosphere was nice and they did seat us right away. I think it went "downhill" from there. The broth normally served at a restaurant like this is chicken based; theirs was beef, which my daughter could not eat. I will admit that I ate sushi for the first time. They ordered the, "Happy Ending Roll"...it was DELICIOUS. No offense to our chef, but he was past "retirement" age. He was kind, but his skills were frightening to say the least. He splattered hot egg and "burned" my daughter and the guest sitting next to me. He overcooked the shrimp, chicken and scallops that another guest ordered. NONE of the food had any flavor. They charge an additional $2.95 for "fried rice" and I use that term lightly. It was a mound of MUSH with no flavor. I usually take photos and post with my reviews. There wasn't anything impressive enough to photograph. My dinner alone totaled $41, and I drank water. My daughter's totaled $75. This was supposed to be a gathering where we celebrated the memory of my husband/her dad, as he loved habachi. This only left us missing him more. We won't be returning.

This restaurant used to be one of the best hibachi restaurants in the Gwinnett area prior to the pandemic. Years later they still haven't redeemed themselves. After our experience last night, we will never return. The food quality is horrible no season on the food whatsoever. Not to mention the cook shortage so you're waiting around while two cooks rotate tables. Very poor hibachi experience.

It's just OK, nothing to write about. In all honesty, it was just the two of us, and they sat us at a regular table, no hibachi for us. Food was two stars, but extremely attentive service elevated it to three. Lots of staff moving all over the place, but the restaurant was not the cleanest ever. I guess it's decent enough when everything around is fast food 🤷♀️

First they had no record of purchase for my take out order. When my son went back in with transaction #, it was miraculously sitting there. When he got home, I was far from impressed. My veggies looked and tasted like they had been made this morning and been heated all day. Meat was same. It may have been marked medium rare, and it may have been when first cooked, this morning. Scallops were fine. With prices today, I won’t be going back.

I don't need the show, I just want good food. I would've even preferred decent food. This was none of the above. I've been here on many occasions and this guy probably turned me off. Went to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and had been there over 45 minutes already. 10 minutes waiting for a table. Then right when our party of 6 is done with soup and salad, they seat a new family. The catch is, two members of that family disappear for a while and they want us to wait for them to get back, order, eat their soup and salad, and then we can get started with cooking the food for our party of 6. Noted for the future... if your party is not 9 people, they may or may not make you wait an eternity to fill the table to get started on your meal. Meanwhile other tables with 5 and 4 people that arrived after us, fired up and cooking. Absolutely unacceptable, especially when we are going on an hour of waiting. Also just realized their food score is low 80s, also unacceptable. Looks like they struggle to make and keep an A. Most of the fried rice was given to a 3 year old (the one that was gone for a while)as part of the show, really?! He barely ate 3 bites of the giant plate. The chicken was rubber hard, steamed rice was crunchy. Our party consisted of 3 hungry teen boys, they got less food than the toddler who got a kid's meal. Never again!

I just want to explain the disgust I have towards this place not only is the food sub par at best. The service was awful. We came to celebrate a few days before my niece birthday and only one out of my group of kids I had was over the age of ten. I told the server this and she gave all the kids kid cups outside of one and then tried to tell me that they are all getting charged adults. When from the beginning she never said anything but last minute trying to tell me that they were getting charged adults. I told her the menu specifically says 10 & under not 9 & under . She continued to argue and was completely rude. The other lady pictured is the manager and she wouldn’t even talk to me she just said nope they are over 10. I then asked to speak to someone higher he completely ignored me and tried talking to my brother in law refusing to speak to a woman. I then told him I’m the one you need to be speaking to not him. He THEN SAYS WE HAD TO PROVIDE BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND PASSPORTS TO PROVE THEIR AGE. I said where does it state that in the menu at all ? The service was disgusting and the treatment that was given was deplorable. Don’t recommend and the fact they were racist and sexist is the most demeaning part of this. If you’re going to go off your Asian brother how he looks at 10 compared to my group of kids is ridiculous and once again racist . I stated genetics are all different . None the less don’t recommend and will further keep not recommend this nonsense of a so called hibachi place .

Totally ridiculous and street side service!
It was on Tuesday 12/19/23,
we had 3 incidents of drops of grease falling from the over-head chimney in plate and in food. Don't know when was the last time the chimney was cleaned or since how long that almost paste like consistency grease was sitting in there.
The server or the restaurant manager did not change our seating even though there were plenty empty stations available around. They stated "we don't have enough cooks today so we cannot operate one more station".
The server literally snatched out the plate before I could take a picture and replaced with a clean one.
All they could do for making it better was giving me almost $18 off the $100+ check.
It's not about the money,it's about allergies and health issues that come with that contamination. All I was expecting was an apology and the change of station and seats but the staff failed at that.
You lost a loyal customer and many more associated to him.

Nice atmosphere. Decent hibachi but not my favorite. Ordered carry out once and we all thought everything was bland with very little flavor. Maybe it was cooked in the back. I always set my expectations low when I order to go but this missed the mark and cost $100 which was disappointing.

Honestly it was kinda just a bad experience the food wasn’t good at all. the service was pretty alright. But all in all it sucked and I do not recommend wasting your money here.

We are sooo happy to have this wonderful restaurant in out neighborhood. When family comes to visit we always end having a fantastic time celebrating at Taki!!!

The hibachi was fun and the staff was pleasant but the food was some mid! Being honest, it was fun, I went with family, so we enjoyed ourselves, but the food itself was nothing to brag about.

We typically go for the sushi, which I've yet to have anything less than absolutely delicious. Not to mention the value. Large rolls for the dollar. Hard to beat.

Wow, we really wanted to like this place. Went with my family and the beer, drinks and sushi roll were all great. Where we lose points is in the teppanyaki. The chef way over salted the food... Add the bacon in the fried rice and it's a little overwhelming. I ordered scallops and they were solidified when he went to flip them on the grill and they came up with a burnt teriyaki film. It was so bad he couldn't even saute them in the butter before serving them because all 5 were stuck together.
He should have asked someone to bring him new ones, but instead her served them.
We were there with my mom so I didn't want to fuss, but it was not a good sign that a chef would serve food like that.
If you decide to go, pass on the bacon in the fried rice and order sushi!

We’ve been a few times for hibachi and it’s always great, definitely one of the better ones in the area, but stopped in today for just sushi and it was phenomenal. Rolls are fresh, fun, and creative; can’t wait to go back and try some others out.

Me and my other half have been to hibachi tons of times. However, this was the first time we have seen an up charge to fry rice on the grill. I asked for extra veggies and I got less than anyone at the table. The restaurants policy to be cheap with portions is doing themselves a huge disservice. If it wasn’t for the sweet woman who sat us we would have given this place 1 stars, she was great with service. But everything else was bad, with tons of hibachi options in the area we won’t go back.

Use to live this place. No veggies in the fried rice. The "chef" did not use any salt or pepper. The meat was not cut through so a knife would have been handy. No personality, no show. Been coming here for years. Time to find a new hibachi restaurant.

Do NOT order anything with avocados here, you're playing roulette if you do. So we ordered takeout here for my stepmoms birthday and spent $150 dollars for poor quality food and being served Rotten AVOCADOS. We order takeout sushi here often and spend close to a hundred each time and usually the food quality is pretty good, except this time. One of the rainbow rolls we ordered was made with ROTTEN AVOCADOS (pic below). A small avocado only costs like what? 67 cents? And you only need half of one for the roll. A rainbow roll costs like 14 dollars, so I'm not sure why they are cheaping out on fresh avocados. I dont like writing bad reviews, but if you're going to serve your customers ROTTEN AVOCADOS, you should be ready to get bad reviews. Considering this is like the only sushi place in Dacula, we'll probably go here again even though we know how to make our own sushi because of convenience. $150 dollars for a ROTTEN BIRTHDAY DINNER is unacceptable. The other rainbow roll had fresh avocados (pic comparison below).

Very disappointed….they made me pay with 2 different credit cards and charged me twice. After discussing this with them for over 15 minutes my food was getting cold and they did not care and would not do anything about the double charge or the food. Beware to check your credit card before giving them a second card. Very shady…..calling the credit card company to report them.

Recommend.

Ordered off Uber eats. Ordered two hibachi meals that were $25 each. They have no option to pick fried rice so i automatically assumed it came with fried rice…. Who wants white rice with their hibachi? Not me… salad was literally … literally JUST lettuce lol

Best I ever had.
Large portion.
Enough to make 2 meals.

Such a bummer, they said there is gluten in all the rice? Why? Can’t eat here if you are celiac

Waitress working today at 5:45pm should be fired. I ordered steak and chicken hibachi and tried clarifying that I wanted the filet.
She then tried arguing with me about the difference between a filet and a steak. Each time I tried to explain what I meant she interrupted me, argued with me, and raised her voice at me.
The moment she raised her voice at me, I got my bag and went to leave to which he asked me “why are you so mad” and then went back and forth with the other couple at the table as to why she’s right and I’m wrong.
Absolutely the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced, possibly ever, but definitely at Taki.

The lady that answered the phone and then later greeted me at restaurant was lovely and so helpful with our surprise birthday dinner party for our family tonight. It makes such a nice impression when their staff are so nice and helpful. Food is always cooked to order, fresh and delicious! Thank you, Dacula Taki!
