Asian Street Food & Brewery
Delicious Korean Fried Wings cooked to perfection. The server was excellent and great atmosphere. Was with 8 other persons and everyone loved their food. One had the short ribs and said it was great, the sushi was great, and the very talked about great flavored fries. Easy to find. I would highly recommend.

I particularly like the Yellowtail Collar. It is a limited item, so get yours before they run out. This location serves a superb fish meal that is perfectly cooked. The flavor is just wonderful. The H.F.C. is also decent. They are extremely tender fried chicken nuggets. The breading is well-seasoned, and the sweet chili sauce is a perfect combination.

We threw a co-ed baby shower at Hopstix last weekend and it was phenomenal. The space was perfect, food and beverage was amazing, and staff was very accommodating. We arrived 2 hours before the event to start decorating and held the shower for 3 hours. All of the guests were commenting on how good the food was, and how friendly and prompt the servers were. I would 100% go back to Hopstix for events I need to host, and for everyday casual dining!

Great Asian brewpub! Ordered the Korean fried wings along with three beers while here; a rice lager, a Mexican lager, and a hazy IPA. All three beers were very tasty, and the wings were great. Sat at the bar with roughly 3-5 other people who came and went during my visit. Staff were very attentive and my food and drinks came out quickly after ordering. Some reviews say this place used to be great, but this is my first time here despite living in the Atlanta area for a long time and it was great to me. I actually came here to check out the beer and was even more blown away by the food.

Hopstix is a cool Asian fusion spot in Chamblee. I came with a big group and got to see how they decorated for Christmas. It's got plenty of room, and you can rent out the place for a baby shower, family-get togethers, birthday parties, etc. For a local scene, there are plenty of drink offerings, specials, and selections for you to partake in.
I'd say that even though there is a lot of variety here (they are definitely mixed Asian fusion!), there's nothing too special to be found. The ramen, sushi rolls, curries, everything is expected and typical of what you'd find in another Asian cuisine restaurant. The quality is great, it's just standard.

Amy was quite the delight with helping set up for an event for my company's team. Her willingness to work with us was unmatched. Although, she already had another large group scheduked for the day, she was still willing to accommodate us.

Update oct/2024 l went again and we liked everything, it was smooth and the food and drinks were good.

Asian Fusion Cuisine meets Brewmaster
We enjoyed several small plates: hamachi crudo, Hokkaido scallops and from the Robata grill , quails and pork belly. All were delicious. The hamachi and scallops were very fresh and tender, served with citrus (yuzu) and beautifully presented. The quail was marinaded in sweet soy sauce with plenty of umami. Pork belly was melt in your mouth yummy.
In addition we had basil crab fried rice, asian chopped salad and a sunset roll. All were excellent. Fried rice was a tad salty for someone on low sodium but not overly greasy. Chunks of crab meat, edamame and basil leaves make this not-your-usual delicious fried rice The Asian chopped salad was served with sweet almonds, fried wonton strips, and wasabi dressing, and loaded with a variety of veggies including edamame, sliced large purple radish, carrots, and cucumbers. Super tasty. Sunset roll was a sublime and delicate blend of flavors, moist and oh so succulent.
All of Hopstix’s large variety of beers are brewed in house. We each sampled a flight of 4 beers of our choice; each served in 4oz glasses. There are some unusual beers, like Yasuke, a black rice larger. We enjoyed them all! Stand outs were Drunkken Meister - versatile, paired well with food, and Octoberstix was smooth and easy drinking. Crying Tiger brings back memories of pints of bitter in English pubs. The 2 seasonal limited releases are must tries if you are adventurous. The Strawberry Paradise is sweet (for a beer); reminds me of lambic but lighter. It was my dessert, refreshing, and I loved the balanced fruity and citrus flavors. The Dark Dream is a stout with smokey notes, hints of toasted bonito and complex, paired well with pork belly and quail. Hurry though, if you want to try it. Only one keg and it’s gone. Besides beers, they do have wines and interesting looking cocktails - for future exploration.
We learned they have Tuna Thursdays, a one day of the week special menu featuring everything tuna. Hopstix receives their blue fin tuna every Wednesday. They prepare the tuna into various cuts and have it ready for the specials
on Thursday.
In terms of ambience, it’s a low key place with picnic benches and regular tables. Outside seating, which we prefer is quieter and the weather is perfect ATM. Inside can get loud but that may be a function of the packed house. The clientele was mostly young professionals. The vibe is vibrant yet laid back.
Service was prompt and friendly. Our waitress answered all our questions clearly with a smile. It helps to order your food before the big parties arrive. There were two on the night we were there. Unlike some other restaurants where we dined recently, Hopstix appeared to be fully staffed.
We will be regulars! Our goal is the sample everything on their menu. Tuna Thursday is already on our calendar.

Hopstix is a must-visit for sushi lovers and craft beer enthusiasts. The sushi is fresh and creative, and their house-brewed beer pairs perfectly with the Asian-inspired dishes. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the staff is always helpful. Definitely a top spot for a great meal!

What a great spot for a boozy meal experience. I don't want to really call it a brewpub because that doesn't do it justice. But if you want to come have an elevated Japanese lunch or dinner with delicious drinks and food this is the place to go.
For food, the menu had plenty of light options if you want to stay away from "bar" food, and everything we ordered from the grill section was excellent. For mains we went with the tuna tacos and the bluefin bowl, both of which were light and delicious. Paired with the fried dumplings and a couple grill items and it was perfect.
Cocktails were delicious and unique enough to set them apart, so definitely give them a try. They also offer beer flights and may even start offering home brewed sake at some point.
Also, this place is so clean and the atmosphere is very welcoming. This is a place you can take family or kids or work to without any hesitation.
Sadly I forgot to take pictures, but will be back again to hit up everything I missed on the first go round.

Great place, desirable atmosphere, and tentative staff. The staff are knowledgeable about the food in the menu of the day. They help us navigate a quite extensive menu.
We ordered: grilled tenderloins, grilled beef Short ribs, tuna Tartar, Basil tofu fried rice, vegan rolls, grilled octopus, grilled quail, and Korean fried wings. The cocktail 🍸🍹selections are quite colorful. Quite a compliment to the food. 🍝😋
This is fine Dining cuisine! What a fun flare outside seating, patio overlooks the subway. It is quite hip. Wonderful environment. Walkable everywhere. Great experience we had. Thank you. 😊

Dinner last night at Hopstix in Chamblee
Highs:
Nice patio on the outside when the weather is good
Inside is not fancy, but clean and organized
Our server, David, was likely one of the best servers I’ve had in the last year
Super attitude, knowledgeable, and and gave you the impression he was having a great time as well
My guest had a tempura shrimp, which he said was the thumbs up
I had a basil, fried rice with chicken, which was also very good
Nice bar area and lots of beer from their brewery
Woukd I go back: this has been a go to for me for the last couple of years and it still is so an enthusiastic YES!

Hopstix used to be awesome. Last couple trips have been decent but today was unimpressive.
Walked in and sat at the bar to get a start on the 4th of July weekend. Waited 7 minutes with zero greeting or even acknowledgement I existed. Left after that, I won’t beg to give money to someone.
Hopefully this helps drive some customer experience reminders.

The last few times I have been to Hopstix. I’m consistently unimpressed by the wait staff and overall dining experience. Examples: having to ask who our waiter is suppose to be after sitting for 15 minutes, two entrees coming out before a the second appetizer, being ghosted by the waiter after entrees come out.
The atmosphere is there along with the potential but too many lack luster experiences to go back anytime soon.

Craving delicious Asian cuisine and creative beers? Look no further than Hopstix! This hidden gem offers a unique dining experience that caters to both food and beer lovers.
The menu boasts a wide selection of Asian dishes, sure to tantalize your taste buds. But the real star of the show is their Kung Fu Hops, a hazy IPA bursting with tropical and fruity notes. This brew perfectly complements the spicier dishes on the menu, creating a delightful harmony between food and drink.
Even if IPAs aren't your thing, Hopstix has a diverse beer selection that won't disappoint. They offer a variety of styles, from crisp lagers to rich stouts, ensuring there's a perfect pint to pair with your meal.
The atmosphere at Hopstix is vibrant and inviting. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying a casual date night, it's the perfect spot to relax and unwind. With its delicious food, creative beers, and friendly service, Hopstix is a must-try for anyone looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience in Chamblee.
It's also very close to a MARTA station, so you can take the train if you like.

Walking in to Hopstix we were welcomed by the wide open space, clean lines, and minimalist decor. Our server, David Ramos, was friendly, explained Asian Fusion cuisine, and described specific menu items enthusiastically. We ordered baby octopus... a spicy, crispy, red adventure; Asian-seasoned corn-on-the-cob (who knew?); and panko-crusted chicken strips with curried veggies over jasmine rice. We were impressed. The flavors were distinct but not powerful. The spicy hotness was entertaining without burning. The panko was crispy on the tender, juicy chicken; the veggies... carrots, onion, and broccoli... were al dente; the currie sauce was mildly spicely over almost-fluffy (vs. pasty) jasmine rice; and the serving was remarkably generous. My guest tried the jasmine rice beer and enjoyed its lightness and slight aroma. Our desert was an exquisite coconut-encrusted Creme Brulee. The pace of service was relaxed so we were able to talk and laugh between servings and the attentive visits by David and bussers. A two-hour lunch is uncommon; we enjoyed every minute of our first experience at Hopstix, and will be brining our friends there soon.

This place was delicious! We were most intrigued by the "robata grill" and got beef tenderloin, blue fin tuna, bacon wrapped scallops, and pork belly from it and they were all grilled to perfection. Our appetizers were fried calamari and the pot stickers. The fried calamari was lightly breaded and seasoned and the pot stickers seemed to be fresh. My fiance got a beer flight and was very impressed by how good they were. We even had the pleasure of meeting Megan, the new general manager that was kind enough to come check up on us. Overall we really enjoyed the food and can't get over how affordable and delicious the robata grill was. We can't wait to come back!

The restaurant was at least 50% empty and we were turned away because we didn't have a reservation. After checking the reservation platform, plenty of time slots were available at the time we came by, so there was really no reason to turn us away. This is not a high end restaurant where one would expect to need a reservation. I hope they revisit this very silly policy.

Tons to choose from. Nice selection of beers and spirits too. The cocktails are strong and really unique. Some of our favorite menus items are the pork belly tacos, the bao, HFC, shishito peppers, curry fries (ask for Sriracha ketchup!), Steamed chicken dumplings, and the pork belly. The katsu curry is the bomb.

Hanna the manager is a very emotionally unintelligent person . She Barely can speak English which gives her less confidence on being a manager at hopstix . She works this young man Winston to deaf making him do everything in the restaurant for little pay . When she ydoes talk to a table she blames the food taking long on the server . Her words “your sever forgot to ring in “ instead of telling the truth and letting them know they have a difficult kitchen staff that messes up often . She yells at the servers in front of people and acts like everything is the servers fault when she needs them the most . Please don’t support this establishment. They have a low score and ALL the dishes are dirty . They have a horrible Dish system. Filthy and thank god I got out of that abusive situation. The don’t care for black people and you can tell but we all know underline racism. Only their kind and they are obsessed with white people . So whatever makes white people happy it’s great ! Food is low quality. Raw bar chef does whatever he wants and isn’t clean . Nothing is clean in there I been in the back and all over . Nothing is clean. I had to leave this message only because they THINK they can treat people anyway and no consequences. But GOD determines that . You treat people bad business won’t last .

Hopstix used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in Atlanta. We used to make the journey from East Atlanta to this restaurant because it was just that good. Now that we live in Austin and are back in town for the holidays, of course we invited our local friends to join us for our first meal back in town. Unfortunately the service and the food quality has changed for the worse. They took my favorite: 3-way-oyster off the menu. It happens... The Hamachi Kama was the size of a chicken wing and greasy. I ordered a top-shelf Gin & Tonic and it came with an old slimy, brown wedge of lime. I took the wedge back to the bar and asked for a new one. The bartender pulled out a container of old lime wedges, dug out a "new" one, and gave it to me. It was less slimy and less brown but not fresh. I used to be a bartender, it's not that difficult to cut fresh fruit at the start of each shift. We will probably not come back nor recommend this place again.

Pricy for pretty mediocre food. I went with my dad and ordered my food a little after his. When his came out, he had no silverware. We waited and waited for mine to come out, until a different lady came up asking if everything was okay and what I ordered. She said my server didn't ring in my order. When I finally got my food, it was just okay...and for 18 dollars for my 1 roll, I expected much better. There was skin left on my salmon, and my roll was falling apart in my chopsticks. My dad at least liked his food. I did not and left hungry.

Food was great. The katsu curry was the best! However management needs to learn a thing or two…maybe just start over. I had a question and our server was so kind to search for “Hannah” the manager. She took forever to come to the table…I don’t know where she was but we had already paid and were just waiting. Our server came back and said sorry she just went to look for her again. Why is the general manager nowhere to be found? lol. Then when she did speak to us she was so incompetent and didn’t have any answers for us…literally doesn’t know how to do her job. It’s unacceptable to leave your guests waiting 30+ minutes for you and then to not know anything about the area, parking or events details…
We’ll come back for the food but not for the experience.

My husband and I dined in this past Friday for a date night and sat at the bar. I ordered the Ramen and my husband got a burger. The cocktails we ordered were fine and the Ramen was very good, but the issue that I have is that we received the Ramen from someone who appeared to be a manager and then was told the burger would be right behind it. Take it from me, who's been in restaurants for a very long time, that the only time I’d ever bring out a partial order to a table is if I know unequivocally that the remaining dishes are literally less than one minute behind. We waited about 15 minutes (not exaggerating here) before his burger FINALLY arrived and without so much as a “We apologize for the delay”, etc.
Your culinary team and expo need to learn how to pace orders and additionally your FOH management team need to be cognizant of this. I was a little irked when we received the bill and not one discount or removal had been applied. I brought this up and requested some kind of compensation occur for the inconvenience to which they did remove a cocktail. Not the best first experience, but I might give them another try down the road.

The restaurant's concept is Asian fusion meets a brewery. The space is great with indoor, bar and outdoor seating. Dishes range from grilled options, sushi, veggies, and more. Also a great selection of cocktails, beer, and more. Great for families, dates, or groups.
We enjoyed the curry fries, tuna tacos, and the grilled duck. What a presentation, the grill was still smoking when it arrived. Great crust and the duck was perfectly done.

Wife and I stopped in here for lunch and to try the beers after a recent trip to view Van Gogh Immersive Experience at the Exhibition Hub Art Center in Doraville. This was our 86th brewery, most of which have been in Georgia. Hopstix is one of the few breweries inside the I-285 perimeter that is open around noon on the east side of the I-75 corridor during weekdays. We had a couple flights as is our usual practice and I was really impressed with their Rice Lager as well as their Czech Pilsner as examples of the styles. Quite tasty and very drinkable. My wife like the Kung Fu Hops IPA best, while I preferred the Lyrical Swords of their two IPAs. The second flight was of their "brown ales", though they were out of the 9% barrel aged porter so we had the Golden Phoenix "petite blonde" Belgian instead. The Porter was quite good, though it struck me was more on the "stouty" side of the style (many may not know that stouts are actually "stouter" porters, though the differences in the styles have grown since the 18th century - for me, a porter is generally maltier and sweeter, with typically a lower ABV than a stout). Wife liked their "mild" ale better in this set, but I thought the ESB, "Long Time No See", quite good. It's nice to see a craft brewery doing traditional English style beers and ales rather than just focusing on IPAs and Sours. As my wife wasn't particularly hungry, we wound up splitting a burger. Hopstix is a essentially a Japanese restaurant, along with the brewery, but they do an extremely good burger. Per usual, we sat at the bar and as this was lunchtime the place was quite busy and the bartender was also serving tables, but she handled it all in stride with a great sense of humor and smile on her face. All in all we had a wonderful experience.

Sucha fantastic spot! Weirdly reserved for a Wednesday but still a nice time for tasty fusions

Lovely spot with a broad food selection. Very nice atmosphere, and something for everyone to enjoy. We got about 10 different dishes for the table to share, and everything was delicious. Top faves are all robata grill - pork belly, duck, mushrooms, shishito, octopus.
One thing to note is that all robata is covered in sweet glaze, so if you’re not a fan of sweet, tell the server to keep it off or on the side. Same goes for the burger.
Service was good, but they were very evidently slammed and (understandably) understaffed. Have your orders ready when the server comes by - it may take a while to see them again. Stil, our server was very considerate, helpful, and did a geat job overall, in spite of being so busy and stressed out!
Don’t miss the beer flights! Rice and Shine is also delicious and very refreshing.

Removed my prior 5 star... We are pretty regular here, every other week. Service is normally not the best, but tonight was a bit worse. Ended up forgetting my meal for a good 10-15 minutes after the two people I was with were served, I had to ask for it once my company finished eating...thought about just telling them to forget it. Ordered some bacon wrapped scallops that were one of the most underwhelming appetizers ( think tiny scallops with shrunken bacon) for about $10.
The miso soup is great, worthy of 5 starts. Most other food is good, maybe 3-4 star. My wife loved the coconut soup she had, which is a special.
Best appetizers have been the fish taco, or the shrimp flatbread.
Service is a 3 most times, a few are great, but it seems like there's always a long wait for a check, etc.

If I could give Hopstix 6 stars, I would. The food and brewery tour was excellent. We sampled several awesome beers and the sour was one of my faves. TJ

We got the Pork belly Bao Buns, Fry Dumplins, Wings and Pork belly tacos. You will not be dissatisfied, the flavor out of this world. Everything was fresh and completely delicious! I got the M.S.G Kettle Sour- absolutely my favorite!!! Hubz got de flight! Woah was it full of savory flavor. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Our server Dana was absolutely phenomenal, her joyful spirit was very refreshing!

Having visited here a few times now I can say they are consistent with their delicious dishes and customer service.
This is a restaurant serving Asian food that also brews their own beer in the back. The food is fantastic, the bowls are filled with ingredients that make each bite unique and full of different textures and flavors. The Miso Ramen was hearty and the pork belly was perfect, I would have liked some more spice which I'm sure I could have asked for. The other ingredients like the Nori, onions, carrots and egg were great additions!
They have a wide variety of beers that range from the more available IPA's to unique specialty beers.
The staff has always been amazing and the interior is beautiful and light. Yes they can get busy and there can be a wait.

Made us jump from one table to another. Inside, outside, inside again, even with a reservation. Filthy floor under our table. We asked to sit somewhere else. The host find us another table outside. Finally. Thank God. A waiter asked us to move 2 minutes later cause it was reserved. 20 minutes into it, still didn’t eat anything. What a mess. Quality of the food by looking at the dishes; I really doubt is good.

Food is okay. I had the curry fries which were not that crispy and dirty bird roll. BEWARE of credit card charge even though I paid by card and tip by cash, they randomly added a tip amount to my card. The reason I noticed because the charge is a round number.

If you have the option, choose to sit in the lovely patio. It has the right amount of shade with the sails, and you get to see and hear the freight trains chugging along. The Rice and Shine beer was recommended by our server, and it was decent. We were trying the Soto and Katsu curry for the first time, and both were flavorful. The evening was busy, but the service wasn’t lacking.
There is construction on Pierce, but there was adequate street parking, which was great because there is very limited parking behind the restaurant.

Finally a gastropub that is so dialed into my wheelhouse its scary. Hopstix in Chamblee combines my two most absolute favorite loves: craft beer and Japanese street food. I find it so pleasing to find a beer pub that has food worthy of the trip alone. The Asian fusion concept comes from Founder/Brewmaster Andy Tan and Chef Dony Raymond and opened in 2017. Tan comes to Atlanta from Indonesia and honed his craft initially home brewing. His family has a history in the culinary and seafood scene back home and helped build a foundation for his dream and goals here. The menu has many American style sushi rolls that can be found in other Japanese restaurants but where Hopstix uniqueness comes through is in the Izakaya or informal small bites that are meant to be shared. The best example of this comes through in their Robata grill where fresh protein is grilled on skewers over binchotan, which is a type of Japanese charcoal. Think baby octopus, tuna and other fresh seafood. Alternatively on the other end of the cooking spectrum are their bowls and raw options. Here the ingredients carry the profile where quality and relationship with the fishmonger are paramount. On our visit they were showcasing a special tuna from Japan which was highlighted in many of their dishes. Not to be outdone the brewing portion of the operation is up to the same standards. I went with a New England style IPA which was juicy, creamy and bright on par with some of the brews I have traded for coming straight from Vermont and Massachusetts. It was impressive to see a list of many styles of beer here as each requires its own technique, time and equipment. This adds to the labor for a brewmaster but shows Tan's dedication to appeal to a wide variety of preferences. For those seeking non fermented libations I hear the cocktails are suburb as well and only adds to the reasons for me to visit again. Im nostalgically reminded overall of the award winning The Answer Brewpub in Virginia for those also lucky enough to visit and thankful that Im now a short Uber ride to Hopstix.

We had a weird experience here for dinner the other night. The hostess barely greeted us and sat us without a word. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for our server to come over and get us water. He jumped straight into asking what we wanted to drink and eat. Our dumplings came out before our cocktails, and when we ordered entrees, my partner’s entree came out almost immediately, which we found bizarre. I had to wait a good 10-15 minutes before mine came out. Then, right as we finished, our waiter took up our plates and came with the check. He didn’t bother to ask if we wanted anything else or if we wanted the check. We felt so rushed out the door, and when we left the hostess didn’t even bother looking up at us. The whole experience was very odd. The food was just ok. The green curry was average, and the dumplings came out cracked in half. I can get the same quality of food at a Thai restaurant for cheaper. I’d like to come back to try the beer, but I might stay away from the food.

This used to be our hidden gem but now its hard to find a table, especially outside on a fall or spring Georgia day. That said, their food is reliably good, and I'd go there for the Dark Asian Magic cocktail alone. Hopstix beers are also consistently good, Rice Lager and Kungfu Hops are favorites. Among my family's favorite dishes: Ramen, Soto, HFC and Tuna Tacos.

What a fun place! Food was unique. The dishes will not be found anywhere else in the metro area. The parking was hard to figure out, even for Atlanta.

Always great quality and fun atmosphere. Brews, as well as cocktails are excellent and sushi is done with care. Lots of food and seating options; outside, bar, sushi counter or tables. Zen tea is a nice touch!

I didn’t enjoy the food. I ordered the bao bun and the bread was wet. Then I got a sushi and they forgot to add one of the ingredients. Very disappointed.

It was just me and my little girl for an early dinner. The service was phenomenal, provided by Sam. We ordered baos, Ramen and the spider roll. Each were extraordinary in their own way. Very authentic flavors and we will definitely come back for more.

Beers were good, food was lackluster and way overpriced. Pork Bao buns were missing the cilantro and pickles that the menu stated and the pork was completely unseasoned. I don't send things back, and I should have sent these back. Sushi was very lackluster, and the beef and sausage robata were cooked, the beef was tender, but they both were lacking flavor. Spent $100 for lunch and left hungry and very unsatisfied.
