Sleek restaurant specializing in elaborately presented sushi also serves Japanese entrees.
The fresh yellowtail was spot on and had a nice kick—I love when they add jalapeno for that extra spice! The eel roll was seriously one of the best I’ve had. The Salmon Spicy Tuna roll, though, was a letdown—I've had better ones for a lower price. Definitely grab a drink while you’re there, it's a must. Our servers were super nice and respectful, but since it was a busy Friday night, they were a bit slow to check in on us. The vibe overall is awesome—perfect for a date night or a fun hangout with friends!

The sushi here was not something I would rave about compared to other restaurants in Atlanta. But, it was very good. I don’t care for the seating availability in the restaurant.. if you don’t reserve seats you’ll be sitting at the bar. Other than that, the service was good and the food was great! But not my favorite

I’ve been to the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, u attempted to go one weekday and google said the close at 11pm. Thankfully I called first. They said the kitchen closes at 10:15? So that means you close at 10:15. Not 11pm. I just don’t understand why restaurants do this. It’s false advertisement.

The food was really good! I got the shrimp and eel roll and my boyfriend got the Shrimp tempura roll. The only downside was that the rolls were pretty small for the price. Each roll was almost $20. The drinks, although also expensive, were delicious! We got the Golden Stand and I got the Green Seed. Will definitely go back once we replenish our wallets!

Wonderfully located off Inman Park tucked in a calmer grove, you will find MF Sushi. A clean interior design with a warm ambiance will be the essence of your experience here.
The perfect appetizer bite was none other than the spicy tuna avocado balls. Don’t forget the miso soup, the flavor profile is insane. They keep ginger & wasabi table-side & even the quality of these fundamental ingredients speak to the dedication of craft here. I have had signature nigiri, the toro, o-toro, but what I keep coming back to are the traditional maguro, hamachi, & kampachi nigiri. The simplicity of these ingredients that are so clean in presentation & flavors are hard to top, especially when you compare prices.
Now we are talking rolls, number one in my books is the lobster tempura roll, narrowly followed by the negi salmon roll. I’ve tried several others including the box rolls & none have hit the spot like these two.
MF Sushi will be one of those establishments where you can’t go wrong, so go ahead & book your table now.

Incredible. Best meal of my life. Fiancé and I love the Houston location and came here when visiting Atlanta. The chef is from the Houston original location and personally made us our entire meal when we asked for whatever the chef prefers! Best meal I’ve ever had with such simple yet complex flavors. I can’t imagine sushi getting better than this. The rice is the sushi and it is very evident here at MF:

WARNING ! IF YOU GET THERE 45 MINUTES BEFORE THEY CLOSE THEY MAY NOT LET YOU ORDER ANYTHING!!!!!
My family and I drove and arrived there at 10:15 pm on a Thursday night. Google said they were open til 11:00. The greeter apologized and told us even though they’re open til 11:00 their kitchen closes early.
I said it’s 10:15 and I drive all the way down here from my hotel but he wouldn’t budge.
They could do everyone a favor if they close their kitchen at 10:15 then don’t say you’re open til 11:00 !
What a joke. Folks, don’t wast your time with this joke of a restaurant. You’ll get better service at McDonalds.

Although a hunk of meat is my anxiety's go-to meal, thin slices of fish on top of rice are where I can reset. These light and delicate treats have the power to slow things down. However, I was disappointed to find myself in what feels like a "chain restaurant." It was very busy, (good for them) but not the good kind of busy. It felt rushed, as if they were trying to get customers in and out quickly. In fact, I received my check before my last dish even came out.
Now, let's talk about the staff. The young and beautiful waiting staff could use some more training. While the ingredients used are of good quality, everything else falls short. There were long gaps between dishes, and the thickness of the Nigiri slices varied greatly. The same inconsistency was evident in the Sashimi as well. I can feel a disconnect between the chefs and the servers. Not many places in Atlanta source high-quality ingredients like MF Sushi does, maybe that's why they can get away with it. For now!

Unbeatable sushi in Atlanta. Everything about this restaurant is perfect - the decor, the service, the vibe, the lychee martinis, the sushi, the appetizers. We ordered the sake nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, the baked scallops, the spicy yellowtail roll, the spicy tuna Osaka box style roll, and the spicy tuna crispy rice. So delicious! Definitely recommend - I can have that same meal every night and be happy.

Had a simple short dinner, with a little nigiri and some sake. Food quality and presentation were great. Our table was extremely small, next to a waiters stand, and wobbly though. So it dampened the experience a little since the meal wasn’t exactly cheap. Likely will just sit at the sushi bar next time

I’ve been a longtime fan of MF and eat here pretty frequently. The sushi is amazing, the drinks are great, and the service is usually warm and hospitable.
However, I had the worst experience the other night. My friend and I were ignored by our waiter the whole night. She didn’t once refill our waters or ask if we wanted another round drinks, and she also started walking away before we were even finished ordering. This was annoying, but we figured she was maybe just having an off night.
Then, as she was clearing our table off, she tried to stack everything up and ended up spilling an entire canister of soy sauce all over me. She said “sorry” once and brought me a wet rag, and that was it. A minute later, she quickly brought over our (full price) bill, didn’t say anything to us while we were paying, and then walked away. For such an expensive meal, I expected more from the situation. My outfit was ruined and my friend and I felt like we were pretty much getting kicked out.
Tried reaching out after but never heard back. Disappointing.

If you’re looking for great sushi and great service, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT EXPERIENCE. Go to O-Ku instead. Much better taste and quality with the fish and much friendlier staff. The service makes or breaks the full dine-in experience. My girlfriend made reservations for my birthday on April 11th. We get to the restaurant and we have to go up to the hosts’ stand. An employee was just standing there staring at us and didn’t even greet us. We say we’re here for a reservation of two. The hostess walks us to our table that had an overfilled soy sauce container and spilled on to the table. We notice the hostess visibly look at it. She sits us and walks away. No mention of the messy table. We give her the benefit of the doubt and think she’s coming back to clean up the table. Walks away again. I then look towards her direction for her attention and then she finally comes up with something to clean up the spilled soy sauce. We try to look past that. Our waitress wasn’t all that attentive nor did she seem like she wanted to be there. On top of the underwhelming staff, my girlfriend also requested in the reservation for a dessert to be brought out saying “happy birthday” to surprise me. In truth, I’m glad the staff overlooked it because at that point we didn’t want to spend more than we already had. Overall, we concluded that it seemed as the staff didn’t appreciate that any patrons were at the restaurant whatsoever and would rather have no been opened for the day.

If you enjoy the varuous textures of sushi and seafood, it's done well here. If you like sushi, you'll enjoy it! If you aren't an expert with sushi, it might feel like you're overpaying. At the end of the day, I enjoy sushi, and it didn't blow my mind. However, there are a couple of dishes that I want to eat again!
If you're a certified black hole like me and want to walk out with a full stomach, I estimate you'll have to pay about 60 bucks a person.
No complaints. Just left wondering if I could've gotten the same for less, and I dont think I could've unless atlanta was on the coast.

I had the Sake (salmon) and Madai. 2 pieces each. Both are tasty but not worth the price. I prefer omakase style so I can get fresher or what tastes much fresher fish for a price that makes sense. My partner had the snow crab roll with shrimp. He said it was good.
Nice atmosphere, food was good, but there are still better sushi restaurants near this area to me for this style of sushi. I won't return. It's good, just not for me.
Drinks were good, and so was the service.

I recently dined at MF Sushi and had an outstanding experience. The atmosphere was elegant, and the attention to detail in the restaurant's design was impressive. The star of the evening, however, was our waitress Lana. Her service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I can’t comment on dine-in as I did takeout. The sushi was top notch - it was fresh and flavourful and absolutely delicious. For a pickup experience it wasn’t the best though - I showed up, the place was 10% full, I told them I was there for pick up and gave my name and the woman pointed to my bag across the room and made me get it. While this is not a travesty by any stretch it’s simply not good service. Especially at that price point.

For my first time I went with the bar experience and ordered the Salmon with a side of rice! Everything is A LA CARTE so take that how you will. I also ordered the cucumber rolls as a starter and they were really good.

Looking for that perfect date night spot? Don’t look any further. A+ on all categories. Sat at the sushi bar; was awesome seeing the chefs do their thing behind the counter while still feeling enveloped in the perfect date night atmosphere. Service was incredible and attentive.
Ordered the baked scallops… immediately one of my top 5 favorite apps of ALL TIME. Miso soup with mushrooms hits straight at your comfy bones. Finished up by splitting two special rolls: the Lobster Tempura and the A5 Wagyu Beef Rolls. My goodness, we left so stuffed and happy with our decisions.
Cherry on top: our super sweet waitress noticed my partner trying to teach me how to use chopsticks, and brought me over a fork with no judgement. My stubbornness wouldn’t let me use it. A few minutes later, the nicest chef behind the bar leans over and gives me a lesson on how to hold the sticks. Finished the whole meal without picking up the fork while the chef was cheering me on! Will never forget that meal. Thank you for the best date night, MF Sushi and staff!!

Everything from the service, the food, and drinks were great! The only reason for the 4 is they had no lights on the ladies room. They had candles lit for lights. Great sushi, but a little on the expensive end. I thought the drinks were a bit overpriced but we enjoyed what got. We had the salmon tataki as an appetizer which was delicious! I also got the maguro "signature" nigiri and Ebi nigiri. Both were good and the signature nigiri was better than expected I look forward to trying more of those.
For the main course we got 2 special rolls, the negi salmon roll and Spicy Tuna. Both were good, but nothing super special. My partner also got the Japanese squash melon roll which he enjoyed.
Overall this place is good if you have a little more money to spend, the sushi is definitely good quality and I like it more than some other sushi places in Atlanta.

Superb sushi. Just divine. Exemplary service.
It must be noted -- their attention to the customer experience and addressing the customer's need: First, not only do they offer LOW SODIUM soy sauce packets on to-go orders -- it's not just any old packet. The packets actually list the sodium content.
This extra step for us is an example of a customer-centric approach to operating their business. KUDOS! And thank you so much for that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I had one of the poorest dining experiences I’ve ever had. The server was inattentive. The drinks lagged, the food was sporadic, the sushi didn’t arrive together, neither did the hot food, the birthday girl never got her meal and they dropped the check before we had the opportunity to blow out the birthday candles. The entire experience lacked the care I would expect of a restaurant of that reputation. Additionally it put a damper on the celebration of a monumental birthday. I would say I was disappointed but that would be an understatement.

Okay. The appetizers were phenomenal. The fish was fresh fresh. That salmon tartare covered in avocado with ponzu lemon juice and sesame oil was the truth. The lobster rolls were over shadowed by everything else seemed boring compared to the other items I received. A little dark outside like they wanted me to really want to go , no outside lighting but I like a secret. I overly enjoyed myself and shall return soon.

We had the pleasure of dining at MF sushi, a high-end Japanese restaurant that exceeded our expectations. The menu boasts a robust selection of dishes with unique flavor profiles, thanks to their expert chef from Japan who is eager to share unique Japanese flavor profiles.
My taste buds were immediately delighted with the box-style spicy tuna sushi, a delicate fusion of fresh fish and rice, bursting with flavor in every bite. The Spanish mackerel sashimi with a yuzu koshō on top was a revelation, offering a perfect balance of citrusy and savory flavors that are sure to please.
But it was the assorted Japanese mushrooms prepared robata style that truly stood out, showcasing the chef's mastery of cooking techniques and his use of high-quality ingredients. The dish was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, elevating the humble mushroom to a whole new level.
The ambiance at MF sushi was as impressive as the food. The modern and trendy decor, infused with Japanese influences in the lighting choices and colors, created a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere.
And let's not forget about the impeccable service from our server David, who provided attentive and knowledgeable assistance throughout our meal, adding to the overall dining experience.
Overall, MF sushi is a must-visit for any food lover seeking a high-end Japanese culinary adventure. The restaurant's exceptional cuisine, ambiance, and service make it one of the top dining destinations in town.

Pandemic review: I use to love MF & recommended it to everyone, but I have tried to order to-go on numerous occasions & they keep changing their cut off times. Tonight, I called as soon as they opened to find out what time they were going to be taking to go orders. I checked the menu & organized my order, called back, just to find out they had decided to stop taking to go orders, despite what they had just told me! I'm over this place!!! It's too expensive for such poor service.

If you are looking for quality sushi along with quality drinks, MF (Magic Fingers - I looked it up) is your spot. I attended with a friend from out of a town and a friend who newly moved here. The three of us ordered Edamame and Calamari to start. If you are a fan of either, or interested in trying them for the first time - highly recommend them both.
We ordered an assortment of Sushi, probably way more than we should've, and we didn't leave a bite on any plate. The M.F. Old Fashion I ordered was delicious - I had two. Our server was very attentive to our orders and inquiries. We went on a Thursday, which may have helped because it wasn't super busy. Also - be sure to go on a payday. The menu prices aren't astronomical but it is easy to run up the tab because everything is delicious and the atmosphere keeps you seated.

The service was amazing and it didn’t take more that 20 minutes to receive my food!!!

Quite possibly the worst experience ive had in recent memory. As someone who worked in the industry for a long time in my younger days, I can totally understand that some nights don't go as planned for restaurants with either being understaffed or perhaps everything not working as it should meaning i can tolerate some hiccups. With that said, Im not entirely sure what the problem was but it was an unbelievably chaotic and disappointing experience. The host was the ONLY professional one there. There was only room at the bar so me and my friend sat there to have our dinner after driving straight from the airport (id just gotten off a 6 hour flight and was so excited to try MF sushi). The bartenders moved UNBELIEVABLY slow for such a busy night....and i do mean...painfully slow. They did not communicate with eachother which lead to us having to ask for something several times to different ones. She got our order wrong which i suspected would happen , i was immediately alarmed when she assured us they can remember our order by memory when we gave it (....why is the theatrics necessary? Just write it down sis). I dont think anyone expects them to perform on such a level where they can memorize elaborate orders, HOWEVER for the kind of money the average patron there spends, i think its fair to expect adequate service where we atleast get the order right.
I would have been thrilled to have had service where my order was taken correctly, some light banter if time permitted on their end at the bar and enjoy delicious sushi in a timely manner. drinks came out LATE as we were waiting for our food....because again, they moved so so so SO damn slow for such a busy night.
and when the food did come out, the app and one main came out (we had ordered a few apps and one entree each)...ummm so my friend is meant to just watch me eat my entre? It is standard to bring out entres together. Apps come first, then entrees come out together. This is how it is literally everywhere in the world 🌎. She'd 100% forgotten to put the orders in on time (that was obvious when i asked her about the 2nd entree) and correctly...since she forgot the order she swore she could memorize. I then express this to the manager who didnt seem to understand the issue and totally blew it off. He was overwhelmed and not in a position to take my concerns seriously which was annoying since ya know, im paying alot of money here for service and food. Fresh off a flight. Exhausted and hungry.
THEN the bartender had the nerve to have an attitude with me for reporting the issue to her manager.
We speant nearly 300$ at this place,
Beautiful location, excellent atmosphere but I left absolutely mortified and embarrassed at the lack of professionalism and severely undervalued as a patron.
Sushi is my absolute favorite and i was so looking forward to this experience.
The sushi was delicious but im definitely not moved to go back anytime soon.
Bummer

Hands down the best fish in Atlanta.
Try the Hamachi signature nigiri, it is a spiritual experience. Pricing is more than fair and the staff are top shelf. Based on quality, consistency, and originality MF is easily one of the top 3 restaurants in ATL.
Photo: Hamichi Signature and Salmon Belly Signature (off menu)
[edit]: I wanted to add, you could easily have an incredible meal here for ~$30-$50 per person. Get a Miso soup to start, an order or two of nigiri for the experience, and two rolls. Bonus: Ask the server how fresh the fish is and buy the chef a beer.

Absolutely Amazing!!
We decided to come to MF sushi because of the photos I saw on google, everything looked fresh and delicious so we wanted to give it a try and I am so glad we did.
When went on a Monday night and sat at the bar. They have such a great vibe. . dimmed lights, background music and earth tone colors. Staff was very nice and provided outstanding customer service.
We tried a little bit of everything and every bite was just melting of mhm mhm goodness haha. . But seriously it was delicious definitely in our top 10 favorite spots. I honestly couldn't stop thinking about how good that sushi was. It was a bit pricey. . won't stop us from coming back though lol
I highly recommend trying out this spot for date night, business meetings or just for some really good sushi. =)

Best Sushi I have had. The service was great and the staff from the host, the chiefs and waitress were all proficient and friendly. Loved it 💖. Mark Mechlowitz picks the best dishes.

Very nice place, friendly staff. Cocktails were better than most sushi places. Sushi was good but nothing amazing and a little pricey compared to some others in the area.

Can be a little pricey, but it’s worth it for what you get. The sushi is so delicious. I’ve been coming here for several years now and the quality has remained consistent. Low lighting, nice vibes too. You will have to pay for parking in the deck if you can’t find street parking.

I'm allergic to seafood but was on a business trip. They had fantastic steak that they cook in front of you on the table. Super cool

Delicious, but overpriced. If you're looking for good sushi, you've found it, but if you're looking for good sushi at a good price keep looking. However if you're looking for some of the best datenight sushi in atl, look no further.

If you're there at night, the restaurant can be hard to find. I think the food was really tasty, and the cocktails were as well. Atmosphere was nice, service was okay, and I think it was a bit overpriced.

I was my first time at MF sit in Inman Park off of North Highland. There is a parking garage that you can park next to an walk right over to MF.
Yes, I would definitely go back. Staff was phenomenal and the food was memorable and delicious. Same-day reservation on Friday 5:15pm
Definitely start yourself off with an appetizer, whether a hand roll or even miso soup. I had the one with snow crab in it, that I would highly recommend.
A great place for any occasion for those who love sushi, definitely try some of their specials we had the Uni nigiri. Memorable and melts in your mouth.

This is one of my favorites sushi places in Houston! Made a reservation online and so getting a table was easy. They gave indoor seating only. The booths are spacious however the tables for 2 are a little small. The service is good and the ambience is vibrant. I do recommend their cocktails. The fish here is fresh and delicious. Do try their baked lobster tempura, yellowtail, cod, taking, spicy tuna. The portion size is small however it is totally worth it. Definitely worth trying
