The servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and sushi in general. The cocktails are so tasty and well crafted. All of our food and drinks came out super fast! I have nothing bad to say about this place, super intimate seating and lighting makes it a top tier date spot. I’ll always come back.

Great ambiance, great food, great drinks, great service. One of the few places I have ever been to where everything tastes great. The Fall of Man cocktail tastes amazing. I’m not a big sushi person but I was able to enjoy all that I dared to try here. Some of the best calamari but I recommend the lobster tempura out of all the appetizers. The red snapper has amazing seasoning but not a fan of raw fish. The wagyu roll tastes like bites of hibachi. Great service. Definitely a must try for sushi fans

Hands down the VERY BEST sushi restaurant I’ve been to in Atlanta! From the atmosphere, service, presentation and food quality — you will be blown away! Over the TOP from every aspect!!! Perfect place for a date, friends or just chill and have a great drink and bite at the bar. Seating is ultra comfortable where you don’t want to leave… reminds me of top notch establishments in NYC. The owners even come by to make sure you’re happy. Be sure and ask for Sandy — she knows every detail on the menu and will suggest everything you will love!!! Tonight I went to this phenomenal Japanese restaurant that I’ve been wanting to go to for months.
This place was not only elegant but dark(literally) and romantic.
Lit up by small candles when you walk in - you can smell the most calming scent from the reed diffuser at the host stand.
For my drink I ordered the Kinjo Cocktail (if you like gin, you will LOVE this cocktail). It tasted like a spiked lemonade but the foam on top with the matcha powder gave it some dimension.
For my meal, I ordered shrimp tempura, baked green mussels and soft snow crab roll.
My favorite would be the mussels, they had so many unique flavors that definitely made my taste buds go crazy. Everything was great but those were a knockout!
My waiter was Daniel who was very kind and informed me about the most popular dishes.
The bartender was also quiet delightful, very charismatic and comical with amazing music taste. Oh and they played Sade classics most the night, along with Frank Sinatra, Faye Webster and Steve Lacy.
I did spend a pretty penny but it was totally worth every cent

Walked in and the host was very rude, very hostile too. Coming from being in the industry and being a general manager myself I would say this was the rudest and most disrespectful way to be welcomed to a restaurant , first time coming here too I promise you I won’t be here again. Last thing you want to make someone feel like is there not welcomed when your coming to spend your hard earned money to support someone else’s business so to whomever is in charge or owns this place please check your host . Couldn’t even get here name because she denied to give it to us just know she was on the schedule 8/17 at 935pm. We saw two spots opened at the bar and she stoped us asking us if we could give her a minute to clean up with attitude. Then she says there’s no tables available, after waiting for about 20 min another couple came in after us and she immediately seated them even though she told us we needed a reservation when the couple was asked they also didn’t have a reservation.

Dominique, the host, was so friendly & accommodating given our situation & we’re very thankful for that! The spicy yellowtail sushi was delicious & brownie points for having a mocktail available. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful & elegant however the place was much smaller than anticipated.

My bestie and I had a wonderful experience at Kinjo Room! Dominik was such a gracious host! He saved a space for us at the bar since we were unable to make a reservation and were enroute nearby. The bartender did a wonderful job placing our order promptly, delivering fast service, and making us some delicious drinks! This is my second time visiting The Kinjo Room and they have yet to disappoint! I highly recommend checking them out! They go over and beyond to cater to their customers and it shows! The restaurant has such a nice ambience and is only a few steps away from other entertainment that's nearby! Win Win!

Every second of an experience at Kinjo Room is a magical moment. It honestly feels like a vacation from reality. The mixologists are artists, and the drinks are amazing. Ray is great! The food is some of the best sushi you'll have in Atlanta. Each bite is incredible. The ambience is also amazing. Alex Kinjo outdid himself with this spot!

Kinjo room is very high quality. However, fair warning, if you come here expecting to spend $50-$100 per person, you are not going to eat a full meal. Kinjo is very high quality, but also very expensive.
Staff was great, very attentive. Loved the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall Kinjo is a great experience.

I had been to the restaurant two previous occasions and had a really great experience- the food and service were top notch. On my most recent experience I wanted to bring a friend from out of town after raving to him about how much he would enjoy the ambience and food. We showed up at 9pm on the dot for our reservation- the host seemed frantic and distracted- walking away from the host stand multiple times after asking my name and still not seating us. Finally after asking my name a 3rd time he finally said follow me and proceeded to exit the main dining area and direct us to a completely separate space. I knew right away that the vibe was totally different and it felt like a cheapened experience and atmosphere. We were sat next to a couple who thought it would be a good idea to bring a baby and a toddler to a sushi restaurant on a Saturday evening at 9pm. The server- although very friendly- was overwhelmed, inexperienced, and forgot several very simple requests, leaving us hanging during the meal. The wrong items were brought to the table several times, interrupting our conversation as they tried to auction the food/drinks off. The meal was sub par- was nowhere near the quality or flavor profile from previous visits. For the price point, I’d say this was probably my last visit to the Kenjo room. There’s better sushi for way cheaper.

The food was delicious, we will definitely be back. However, upon our arrival to the main room the service was somewhat unpleasant and it seemed like they had two rooms and were sitting ‘certain’ type of people in the other room.

Ahh-Mazaing!!!! The ambiance will hit you first, then you’ll order a drink and be amazed, shortly thereafter your food will arrive and you’ll be overcome with too many happy feelings yo even speak.
I ordered the Kinjo cocktail- the key lime foam impressed me; the drink itself was sweet and tangy. The macha topping added a nice contrast by adding a different smell.
We ordered the soft shell crab and tempura lobster roll. Everything was 12/10! (Per usual, the food was so good, I wish I’d ordered more..!)

Easily top 3 sushi places I’ve ever been, and I’ve been to Nobu in Vegas and I’ve been to Japan. Absolutely incredible! The service was first class. They were constantly walking by filling my water, making sure everything was great, and asking if we needed anything else. Our waiter gave great recommendations and was fantastic! 10/10. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. The yellowtail literally melts in your mouth. We will definitely be back.

It’s a very small restaurant. It’s dimly lit with a romantic setting and the sushi is good! The cocktails could use a heavier pour of liquor but they’re still good nonetheless. The service here was significantly sub par, especially at the price point. After sitting for 20mins past our reservation with no water or menus at our table, we had to ask for service. Even after acknowledging the slip up, our service did not pick up. The food was OK, and again for the price there are better places to go. Over all I really did not enjoy my experience and would not recommend.

If you are a foodie you might be disappointed.
The food here is good - no doubt. I will say it’s not any better than Chirori or Starfish, two places with equal quality food but less atmospheric. Rolls are pretty unremarkable and down the fairway. Here you are certainly paying for Interlock’s expensive rent and for the vibe, which is upscale and attractive. This is reflected in the astronomic cocktail prices and a few others items. $250 on food to satisfy 2.
I was off put by the price. And if I am going to blow it out on a glitzy sushi night I am going to Eight - same price point but better food/larger portions.
Bottom line you can have equal or better quality sushi (without as many trendy “in” American sushi menu items) for noticeably less. Won’t go back unless someone else is paying.

The food was good, but the pricing is incredibly off. My friend and I each spent $100 and ended up at Shake Shack afterwards because we were still hungry. I don’t mind paying for quality food, but at those price points, I expect to leave satisfied. The portion sizes are insultingly too small.

What a way to ruin an absolutely great dinner. Food was great, but after about an hour the waitress asked us for our table (I am not exaggerating, it was an hour).
Will never return.

The sushi quality is up there with Atlanta’s best but the portions are abysmal for how much you’re paying. The Nigiri rolls are very thinly sliced and the rice was barely there. We left hungry but spent more than $250. Atmosphere was cramped and dark. Overall would not come back, there are better sushi places that charge this much but you’ll at least feel like you ate a full meal.

We were party of 9. Before we were seated, the server who greeted us at the door told us that there is a PROTOCOL!! And that was that we can only have 2 checks max when this big party ?!?!? Whatever. Place was 1/2 empty. We waited forever on drinks, appetizers and food. Way too long for 1/2 empty place. Sushi was just ok. Absolutely nothing special about it. Our server acted like she’s a general manager of the 5 starts hotel. Snooty.
The bartender was helping our server serve the plates and he had one hand behind his back ( looking all professional) and in the other one he held the plate. But when he turn around his hand ( the tip of his fingers) we’re tucked in his pants!!! Omg.
I certainly would not go back to this snobby place with “protocol” and bartenders fingers in the pants.

Great little spot for a date night. Ambiance is lovely, music and decor is just perfect for a night out.
Sandy was our server and was outstanding. Perfect recommendations of both food and drink choices. Recommend the spicy tuna roll, the snapper nigiri/sashimi (try both!), and especially the king salmon. The salmon nigiri was so good, we ordered a second one for dessert!
We will be back and recommend it to anyone who loves truly excellent sushi.

West midtown is the new sushi Capitol of the south. Mujo (I reviewed that last year and it’s amazing) is right across the street but this place is legit. Great atmosphere and super fancy inside but not pretentious. Cocktails are expensive (Ie $23) but good. But the sushi is amazing. We got a few rolls which were great but focused on nigiri. Otoro, uni, chopped scallop , king salmon…all were excellent.

Kinjo Room is a restaurant you have to experience!
They have so many options and specials. It was hard to say what would be my favorite, everything my friends and I were delicious!
I do highly recommend their cocktails and sake. What we ordered: Out of Fashion, Nice Pear, Maiden’s Wish and more.
The food we ordered:
Started with the fresh edamame, fried shishito peppers, Otoro carpaccio, kampachi, spicy tuna roll, soft shell crab roll, Wagyu beef yakitori, bunch or nigiri (honestly you can’t go a wrong with any of their choices!) and two desserts the strawberry mochi and the cheesecake!
We were definitely full by the end. The staff was very friendly and nice. I do recommend going on a weekday. weekends can be very busy. Parking was easy in the parking garage.
Great places for date night or to hang with friends.

This place just misses the mark!! The aesthetic is pretty and very well done. When you first walk in there are four two top tables to your left by the bar, we were seated at one in between two other couples. The tables are extremely close together! Felt on top of the people next to us and could hear every single part of their conversations the whole evening. The tables are so close together that the server has to come over your shoulder from behind you. Not really ideal for a date night.
Overall the sushi rolls were just disappointing and lack luster. We got the eel roll and negi salmon roll. The eel was good but nothing spectacular. The negi roll is just your average rainbow roll, something you can find everywhere and nothing really distinctive about it. Very basic!
On top of the sushi rolls, we got the tuna tasting. The otoro was fabulous! Melted in your mouth, super fresh great quality. Definitely best part of the meal.
The spicy crispy tuna roll was great! Rice was nice and crispy at the bottom, tuna was fresh, a little spicy and not overly chopped together. The menu says there is arugula and ponzu and that was nowhere to be found. Still good though but little misleadingly it’s also not a roll, just call it spicy crispy tuna!
Aside from all the sushi we got the shishito peppers, perfectly grilled, super flavorful, little spice.
Overall I wouldn’t come back for the rolls. They are more generic than Oku that’s become a chain down the street! Super basic rolls, nothing special about them, not impressed with the quality, small in size and overpriced for what they are. Would come back for the sashimi or nigiri.

Good time drinking here late at night. But expensive drinks. $20 a pop is a little much but what do I know. Quality definitely match the price thou. Impressed with the clear ice they use.
Ambiance is for a date or birthday drink or dinner. Knowing this as a Japanese sushi place but we only got drinks post dinner. We experienced 2 birthday and many dates couples within the 1 hour we were there. Sang some birthday song with the crowd and it’s fun.
Service is top. The server accidentally filled our sparkling water with tap and she apologized and give us another bottle. Our drinks come quickly after ordering. It was not a busy night.
Drink. They can be a little stronger but good quality. One drink is enough to get your tipsy or me at least. Edamame is a little over cooked and we didn’t get any food. Price is a little pricey again and it is post dinner drink.

The sushi rice is gross and mushy. There are no desserts except mochi. They don’t do anything special for birthdays either. Save yourself the $$$$ and go to Eight Sushi Lounge or elsewhere.
Edit after owner response: I did not order a side of rice. I was referring to the rice used for the sushi.

Prices did not meet the quality or amount. The quality of sushi was no batter than the sushi you get at a all you can eat buffet. If your hungry or thirsty do not go here, did not have adequate non alcoholic choices and everything option was a single mouthful. 75$ for 8 pieces of sushi that didnt even have different kinds of fish was rediculous.

Nice chill place.. has a hint of Japanese vibes but it has been done in a lavishly more americanized vibes.. sushi (nigiri) quality was very good with a hint of American touches added on top which surprisingly gave a nice taste.. but if you're looking for a proper Japanese sushi omakase experience I'd suggest you look elsewhere

The real question is… why have you not been here yet? I cannot say enough good things about Kinjo Room. The food is outstanding—I’ve eaten at every top sushi restaurant in ATL and this is the best. This place is still a hidden gem, so I recommend visiting sooner than later before you can’t get a reservation.
Honestly, the cherry on top is the staff. The owners attention to detail is evident in every element of the atmosphere. The head bartender has crafted an unbelievable menu of stunning cocktails and makes a point to personally ensure you enjoy your experience. (James, you’re the best).
You HAVE to get over to Kinjo Room. By far the best meal I’ve had in Atlanta in over a year.

Came in here for my friends birthday and she had a personal photographer present. He was doing his best not to use flash but the ambiance is very dark and cozy... the owner (pictured to the far right) and the bartender (to the far left) came up abruptly demanding he turn the flash off he was very abrasive and the owner followed up and told us it was common sense that we shouldn't use the flash.... both of them were very rude. Mind you the place was fairly empty outside of our party it was eight of us and about nine others in the establishment but majority of them were at the bar. Would not recommend based on that alone. I dont Have any complaints about the food other than the menu being a little pricey. They were aware that it was someone's birthday and still chose to be rude and ruin her whole mood... being a owner and giving that nasty energy is just unacceptable....

The restaurant is amazing decorated with with a very inviting ambiance and from the day we walked in to the end. I just felt welcomed. The Calamari Kaarage was amazing, the thinly sliced tuna delicious, the two rolls Spicy Crispy Tuna and Lobster Tempura for sure to come back again for it. The boys at the bar area Nick and I can’t seem to remember the name of his colleague were amazing and I even tried my first cocktail which for me I don’t drink many of those. I sure would recommend the restaurant for its amazing service, unique presentable food and just the atmosphere of very friendly people.

This is a beautiful place for people to gather and have good conversations. The restaurant is not so big to be impersonal and the music isn't too loud. The drinks by Nick and Ashley were fantastic. They are friendly, highly skilled bartenders.
I didn't give this place five stars because the server seemed to just not get it. There may have been four or five requests that she just forgot. We came on a Tuesday evening so it was not at all busy. Everything from getting a glass of water to a modification on a drink. She was kind and friendly but just not a good listener I guess. The other issue is I don't really like my rolls with rice that's fried/toasted. Other than that this is an excellent place and I would come back.
I look forward to trying other items on the menu and trying more drinks. Fantastic place for drinks and conversation.

Would eat at 10,000 other sushi places before I
ever come back here. Slow service. Prices are high and portions are extremely low. Will not make handrolls. $300 tab and starving for 2 parents and 2 kids. 1 cocktail that came 45 min after ordering. Don’t go here ever!

Wanted to try something new for date night. Since my partner and I love sushi I looked up some reviews and found this amazing spot. Made a quick reservation and headed out.
You can't see it from the street and you have to park in the adjacent parking garage...note, you have to pay by ParkMobile. You take the elevator to level P I believe and it's a few steps away.
It's a quaint restaurant with well thought decor and a peaceful vibe. Our server Mary was great. Her personality is pleasant and her service was wonderful.
We had tempura shrimp as an appetizer. I had the spicy yellowtail roll and baked scallops which were incredible. He had the spicy tuna roll and the eel roll which were also delicious.
We shared Mary's recommendation called God of Fire. If you like spicy this one is for you. Everything was fresh, flavorful and well presented.
Oh..I guess the only down..1 unisex bathroom. I went in and it had not been refreshed so there was tinkle on the floor...
Great service, great food. Will definitely be back.

The vibe is awesome! Definitely a good place to go on weekend with some drinks.
We were here mainly for food. Nigiri was surprisingly good! ( both yellow tail and amber jack was awesome) lobster lunch box roll is great too.
The only one I don’t like is the salmon avocado ball. It’s $19 for 2bite! Otherwise it’s good though very pricy.

The food and atmosphere was awesome. We will definitely be back to try more stuff. Didn't get any nigiri like I normally would but the sushi appetizers and rolls and robata black cod were delicious.

Wanted to try a new spot for a solo outing and discovered this place. They have a huge door that I passed at first so pay attention lol. The ambiance was dark and sexy. The menu seems a bit pricy but the food was good. I had calamari, spicy yellowtail roll. Food came out quickly. Mary was my bartender and she was sweet and made a great drink. There’s a parking garage for convenient parking.

Kinjo is the sushi restaurant to go visit. Snagged a last minute reservation to MF Sushi’s new 20 seater restaurant in West Midtown. Tucked away in The Interlock behind Velvet Taco you’ll find the hidden oasis of Kinjo Room. The restaurant is a total vibe — great decorations, ambient music, perfect lighting, and comfortable seating. Ordered a few appetizers and 4 sushi rolls. Incredibly fresh fish and our order came out quickly.
Great customer service and since it’s a fairly new restaurant they have been exploring new cocktails for the menu so it’s an excellent time to go check it out! Can’t wait to come back.

MF Sushi is my favorite place in all of Atlanta, so when I heard about Kinjo Room, I knew it would be hit. They have my favorites from the MF menu + interesting additions and a very swanky and intimate ambiance. Another hit!

Kinjo room has only been open for a couple of weeks. It’s small & intimate inside at capacity it seats about 20 people. The perfect date night spot. The service was great our waiter was very attentive. Our food was pretty yummy. They have sushi appetizers which I also liked. My appetizers were tempura fried shishito peppers & fresh yellowtail. My entree was the spicy yellowtail roll. My favorite drink was the papa chili. They have a parking deck which also makes this restaurant easy to get to. Overall it was a nice dining experience.
