In 2007, Atlanta welcomed its newest “gem”. Nestled in the heart of Downtown, Thrive Restaurant + Bar quickly became revered as one of the finest boutique restaurants housed in an area saturated with franchises, and pubs. Owned and operated by TD Restaurants Management Group, and designed by Bill Johnson- of Johnson Studios, “Thrive’s” contemporary décor has since hosted hundreds of trendy patrons daily.
Open for lunch, dinner, and a night cap- “Thrive” artfully lured the businessman, and those enjoying a night out on the town, alike. Walking distance from CNN, State Farm Arena, The Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park and The Sky View, “Thrive” has become an attraction of its own!
12 years later, Thrive is still a favorite amongst the loc
Food was amazing, best sushi ever, I could not take more pictures because we could not stop eating, tempura rolls were delicious, the tuna meat appetizer was it too and the cocktails are excellent too, definitely going back! Also the restaurant is gorgeous ! The music, the lights, and they have a chain curtain that is perfect to touch (perfect for people that love textures)

This was my first time here.
The Service from Robert was amazing they are very lucky to have him there.
They also opened up 20 minutes before they normally open for us.
They went the extra mile.
I had the Chef Steak with fries and mac and cheese and broccoli.
The steak was 9 out of 10 very delicious and cooked right. The fries are a most try.
The broccoli I was questioning but once I tried them they they where delicious 😋
When it came to the Mac & Cheese it was 5 out of 10 which I was disappointed but if you like cheesee mac and cheese then you may like it.
When I come back in the area I will definitely be stopping by again.

This was the best meal I have had in a long time. It was worth every penny. The place was packed and our server Melissa was on point. She was attentive and frequently checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. To say that Thrive met my expectations would be an understatement.

Kale and Caesar (with Chicken added): I really need restaurants that insist on a kale salad to be better about removing the stems. I hit two in mine and it just makes it tough to eat. Flavor-wise, it was good though.
Sushi: Vesuvius, Rainbow, and Firecracker roll. I abstained, but the rest of the group loved all of them with everyone having a different favorite.
Other apps were good: Fries, Brussels, and Potstickers were all had and enjoyed as well. I wasn't blown away, but their prices are great for the portions and quality.
Edit: PLEASE clean your inside wondowsills.

Decided to go here before a concert since it was close to the arena. The ambiance is nice. Great customer service. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. I had the chili lime wings and brussel sprouts. My friend had the tuna burger and fries. Will definitely be back!

The service was not bad. The servers were very nice and attentive. The food on the other hand was delicious until I received my lamb. The sides that came with the lamb were delicious. The first piece of lamb that I had was delicious until I cut into a big piece of fat. The second piece of lamb I did not bother to eat. I cut into it several times to see if there was meat in there and it was mostly fat. Am I eating meat or fat?

Had such an amazing experience last night, that I couldn’t help but share. Yesterday my husband and I had time to ourselves for the first time in 10 months since having our son. As special as a night that was, we wanted to be able to treat ourselves to a nice meal and a concert right after. Weather was awful, and we hustled into the closest restaurant. We were treated by the manager and host who had such a warm and welcoming attitude. The restaurant had only been open for 15 minutes and only a few people were dining at the time. We were seated promptly and greeted by such a kind server. She was such a sweet girl, who answered any questions we had and made sure our meals with fast and delicious. If any staff walked by, the were sure to check in with us and make sure we were doing okay. We were so happy to be able to enjoy this moment to ourselves and reflect on all we’ve done in the past year of being home and raising our son. And not having to worry about choosing a bad restaurant or worry that our meal wasn’t to par, just made it easier to enjoy the moment with each other. We hope to come back in the future to be in the presence of great food and great staff. Thank you!

We were 15m late to our reservation and were still seated since there were plenty of open tables, so that was nice. Also our server was nice and the drinks were good. We ordered our drinks at the SAME time as our food. Our food (shrimp salad, pork tenderloin & seafood mac&cheese) took over an hour to arrive. Other tables came and left before we got our food. No apology, no acknowledgment. After an hour we asked our server about our food and were told “2-3 minutes.” 15 minutes later I mentioned it to a hostess and she went to the back to check on it. Then it came out. The pork tenderloin was dry af and the brussels it came with were hard (it was $29 btw). The shrimp salad was “okay” and the seafood mac&cheese was good, but looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. If you’re coming here before an event, beware bc now we’re late to Mariah Carey bc of this. Most people going to the concert have left the restaurant and we’re still waiting to pay.

I wish Google Reviews would let you write 2 different Reviews for a location. I wrote this one 8 years ago:
Food looks & tastes perfect. Upscale look with satisfying flavors! Variety of food options is exceptional. Cocktails are worth it!
But then last night I visited Thrive again and it is still an amazing experience but I wanted to give a little more detail so here is my updated review:
Our party of 5 ladies dined at Thrive before a concert at The Tabernacle. Thrive validates parking so that was great and the Tabernacle is an easy walk at only a block & 1/2 away. Three of the ladies in our group are AA friends, so we didn't have alcohol and we were very happy with the selection of tasty mocktails in the "Designated Driver" section of the bar menu! We shared apps including fried green tomatoes, burrata, pot stickers, and watermelon salad. All were so yummy!!! Several ladies ordered sushi for their main, one ordered shrimp & grits, and I ordered the pan-seared salmon. WOW!!! Everything was made to perfection and so delicious!! Our waitress, Melissa was so sweet and attentive. Thrive is such a beautiful restaurant with cool decor and lighting that we just had to take photos of our group in the lounge. We all would highly recommend Thrive and with free garage parking it's easy to go there anytime.

I know that the food here is good because I’ve eaten here before. I was in a time crunch so when I ordered online and it said 15 minutes, I knew I was good. I got there in 10 minutes and the total time from when I ordered was more than 40 minutes! If I hadn’t already paid online, I would’ve walked out.

Stellar! My stepmom and I just ate here before going to Janet Jackson and let me tell you what! Thrive exceeded all expectations. The tuna burger was so, so delicious and fresh. The fried green tomatoes would convince me I was in New Orleans.
100% recommend, and will, in fact, be returning soon.

We had a nice experience. Professional, prompt service. Chic decor. The garlic shrimp and grain salad and shrimp and grits were well presented and tasteful. Sushi and potstickers were good. Probably one of the better restaurants in the area.

Staffs are nice and food is not bad/good. The restaurant interior is beautiful and comfortable. However, I would highly recommend you beat the crowd to order, otherwise you could stuck there for 30 mins to 1hr with any food.
Be sure always expect a crowd due to there are so many concerts, conventions, or office ppl.
Sushi are a bit pricy here and mostly “American style”. Sandwiches and most appetizers are pretty good.
Totally recommend their happy hour drinks! It’s pretty good deal from 4-6 pm

Even though the atmosphere and food was good, the service was so unacceptable I can only give it 1 star.
Worst service ever experienced. Arrived at 1:30. Ordered cocktails and a meal. 2 hours later we received our meal with no cocktails. We were initially told it was busy and the food would take 30 minutes. The place was literally at half capacity. At the 2 hour mark, I asked the server (who was nice) about the status of the cocktails, that we'd like them before the meal comes out. She told me the next bartender just arrived. ???? Went to check and never came to tell us any status. Won't come Here again.
Visited 9 months ago
The worst place to eat. Burger was way under cooked and we had to send it back. It took 30 minutes to get the first burger and then another 15 to get the cooked burger which wasn’t edible. Then they couldn’t even get the checks correct. Never will we eat there again. Only went there because it was close to State Farm Arena.

Can't say enough good things about Thrive! Mishka is an amazing mixologist, had the
" Bartender's Special" on the happy hour menu. Made with real passion fruit, vodka, and crystal sugar. It should be a staple on the regular day menu because it's that good! Mishka also recommended two standout dishes, the firecracker sushi roll and the Red Snapper with julienned zucchini, peppers and coconut rice. Make sure you check out Thrive, Mishka won't steer you wrong!

Upon entering the restaurant, it's aesthetically pleasing, clean with a contemporary feel.
The host immediately asked if we had reservations (We did not) & promptly seated us.
Our server arrived ten minutes after we were seated & wasn't the friendliest. Our waters were brought out quickly although we waited almost twenty minutes for our food. I had to ask a different server twice to receive utensils.
(I'd like to note we dined here during the beginning of Atlanta's water crisis- Hence the paper plates)
For future reference I'd probably order takeout. Food was great!

What a failure. We were in Atlanta for a conference and this seemed like a nice place for dinner with colleagues and a client. It was a huge disaster. Maybe it was a bad night, but it felt more like a joke. We had reservations for 8:00 pm, but they parked us at the bar until 9:00 before they gave us a table. Just to move us to another table after they claimed they gave us the wrong one. By the time we ordered, they were out of most of the items on the menu, including the sushi, which is their sample. They offered us drinks on the house, but not cocktails, because at that point "the bar was closing". The food was not bad and the waitress was awesome. She was singlehandedly trying to keep the ship afloat. Two stars just because she was so awesome, but the restaurant itself is a disaster. At least it was a disaster the night we were there.

Waitress tip shamed my coworkers. Gratuity was added and she wanted more on top of a $20 tip for making three people two drinks each during happy hour. She told every customer in the bar.

I picked this place due to its proximity to state farm arena, reservation availability, and type of food served. What a great choice I made - drinks and food were outstanding, service was perfect, great atmosphere, and it was clean (including the bathroom). Would highly recommend!!

They have brought back happy hour from 4-6 with some good food and drink options. Service is great, have Jordan make your drinks, they are perfect every time. Zoe is awesome and typically behind the bar, cool as can be and her accent is just as beautiful as her. If you want a great spot with good drinks and great food, this is the place for you!

My experiences at Thrive in Atlanta were as diverse as night and day, reflecting a range of service standards and atmospheres.
On my initial visit, unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival with a friend, we found ourselves waiting by the entrance for an uncomfortably long five minutes without being seated. Even after moving to the bar area and waiting an additional ten minutes, we were left unattended, feeling invisible amidst the sparse crowd. The lack of acknowledgment or service was disheartening, and we departed without so much as a word exchanged with any staff member.
However, my recent visit to Thrive painted a vastly different picture. Returning with a group of friends for drinks, we were met with attentive and friendly bartenders whose knowledge of their craft was evident. They took the time to engage with us, offering recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction throughout the evening. The vibrant atmosphere and excellent service made for an enjoyable outing, a complete turnaround from my previous encounter.
In sum, while my initial experience at Thrive left much to be desired in terms of service and attentiveness, my second visit showcased the establishment’s potential for delivering top-notch hospitality. The disparity between the two visits suggests a need for consistency in service standards. Nevertheless, the positive experience on my recent visit leaves me hopeful for future visits to Thrive.

The sushi was beautifully presented and very fresh. The calamari appetizer was just okay. Too crispy and very small pieces. The shrimp and squash/arugula/grains salad was super fresh and tasty. Service was good, overall. Had to ask for water refills and she never asked us if we wanted a second alcoholic drink. Never asked how our food was. The kitchen got the food out fast, as the restaurant was quite slow for a Friday night.

Came here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Fries were delicious. You also don’t expect their sushi rolls or sashimi to be good but they really were! Just wished for 4 pieces for $10. Tends to get busy with maybe not enough wait staff but very professional. Also enjoyed the cobb salad when not eating sushi.

We had dinner here tonight and I decided on the pork tenderloin. Chef Kevin prepared the dish, and the meal was phenomenal, every bite in the plate was cohesive and very tasty. Chef Antonio prepared the salmon for one of my friends and he ate everything on his plate! My friend barely eats half his plate usually so for him to crush the plate says a lot! First time i experienced thrive was late 2019, so i am happy to report quality was outstanding and happy to see they survived the pandemic. Thank you for a great meal and for the vibe on a Friday. It was great not to fight for a seat on a Friday night.

Booked a table multiple weeks in advance for New Years Eve through OpenTable and then received a call on December 30 at 8:35PM that the restaurant is not even open on NYE. My wife and I were left scrambling to find an alternate plan last minute for our weekend getaway. If restaurants are going to use platforms such as OpenTable for reservation management, they need to ensure their availability is accurate.

Terrible experience!!!! Food took close to an hour to get to the table, when it got there my shrimp and grits were cold. The waitress said she would get me a fresh plate and brought back the same plate a little bit warmer (obviously they stuck it in the microwave). Waitress brought additional dishes we didn’t order and when we told her we didn’t order that, she started arguing with us telling us we did. When they brought the bill, it had a MANDATORY 20% gratuity!!! Absurd!! Charging 20% for the absolute worst service. Stay far away from this place.

Excellent service, food was amazing, all the staff was professional and courteous. We were there at the Glass Show and this was by far the best service, quality of food and customer service out of 5 restaurants. We had 8 guys from our different plants there from the President, GMs, and Plant Managers indulging in our food and drinks. Great job to the Manager and her staff. Thank You from Portland Glass, Tacoma Glass, and Burlington Glass. It was great getting to know you and your staff. Thank You and great Job!

Food was very good. Well prepared. We were there before a concert and had a reservation. We shared appetizers and mac.
Fried green tomatoes with spicy bacon jam were excellent. Lightly battered and seasoned. Crispy and not greasy. The bacon jam was delicious.
The lobster mac n cheese was by far the best I've had. Rich and cheesy with generous amounts of blackened lobster, shrimp and crab.
The sushi rolls were surprisingly good.
I definitely recommend Thrive and will be visiting again. More food than we could eat. The server and staff were attentive and friendly.

The manager Chanel came over to check on us, that’s always a nice touch. Don’t drink - but they had some neat looking drinks. I barely ate half of my steak because I devoured the apps, so I took it to go, it was even better the day. Will definitely return.

Went to this place on a random Monday thinking it was going to be an easy in and out. It was packed! I think there was a concert or convention or something. Hostess was very nice, we were seated quickly because we had a reservation. I did watch her turn people away- cuz they didn't. The place is a vibe. Not a huge restaurant, but really nice design. Had a bit of a wait on the sushi- but we were warned, so no problem there. Had two rounds of drinks by the time it came out. it seemed everyone ordered sushi. Had the Dragon's breath- awesome roll, had some sashimi- super fresh. My friend had the seafood mac and cheese- Huge! Loaded with lobster and crab. honestly enough to share. Server was great, but was could tell she would be better on a less chaotic night. All in all- Highly recommend.

Love this place! We come here for date night whenever we can get away. The food was great, as usual. The service was not the usual, but still good considering it was jam packed on a concert night. I used to be a server so I understand that you have to have a little patience when an entire restaurant packed out in 20 minutes. Had The ginormous steak.. A+. Drinks were great… had the lychee. Always a good time at thrive.

I was there with a group of employees.
The bartender had to bring me food at the seating area just inside the place because the waitress wanted everyone to be on a single tab.
Bad policy we didn't know each other, and there was staff and management there for a retreat.
Five STARS for the bartender!
Maybe it works for ATL, but that is a bad policy.

If you enjoy crunchy, uncooked rice in your sushi and watching the tables around you receive their drinks and food as you wait on your own server to share their disdain for serving you, then this is your place. Otherwise, I recommend avoiding this place like the plague. 1

This place was neat and got busy quickly after we sat. Thank goodness we made reservations beforehand. The food was good (not great) and the vibe was very business casual. However, our server was terrible. She was never around. Never checked on us. And the two times we got her attention (once to check on the food because we had been waiting 45 minutes after placing our order with zero update, and two because we needed to pay our tab) she looked annoyed and borderline offended that we interrupted her. What’s worse is that she was training some young guy as well. Honestly, the trainee seemed better than her but not by much. I wanted to say something to management but we needed to run to our show (we would’ve had ample time if the server just checked in on us once in awhile so we didn’t have to wait 30 minutes AFTER finishing our meals to pay). The food was good but unjustifiable with the service. Would not recommend.

Took 25 minutes for Leonardo to take our drink order. No refills or checking in on us either. Another 45 to get steak and sushi. Steak was sub par and sushi was tough. Yeah, we won’t be back and can’t and won’t recommend.

I recently dined at Thrive, and I must say, it was an absolute lackluster. From start to finish, Let's begin with the customer service, or should I say the complete lack thereof. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to the needs of the customers. It was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention, and when we finally did, it felt like we were doing them a favor. I've never encountered such apathetic service in any establishment before.
To add insult to injury, the food itself was a dismal disappointment. Not only did it fail to live up to the menu's empty promises, but it also lacked any semblance of flavor or finesse. It was a bland, forgettable affair that left me questioning why I even bothered in the first place.
In conclusion, my visit to Thrive was a regrettable mistake. The abysmal customer service, coupled with the lackluster menu and subpar execution of the dishes, ensured that I will never set foot in this establishment again. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out a dining experience that actually lives up to its promises.

Overall a 4. It exceeded my expectations. The price is a bit high but they are in downtown. They he food is a little better than average. Generally it was a bit too wet and saucy for me, but it was high quality and prepared well. The atmosphere was really great and the service from Kyla was exceptional. I’ll definitely go here again. The coffee was really good and everyone was very nice.

I was surprised at how good the food was. It's been there a while and there's a reason for that. For where it is, it's a fantastic lunch place and prices are reasonable. Also, get the fried green tomatoes, they were fantastic.
Visited 2 years ago
The food here is a little over the top, the green fried tomatoes are smothered in a peculiar tasting sauce, the edamame is bathed in sesame oil and the wedge salad is romaine rather than iceberg. The sushi was fine, but not amazing. Our server was fantastic and we were able to eat before a concert without a reservation, which was a huge plus! We probably won’t be back though….

Outside of the drinks, everything else was horrible. From the service to the food. My friend bit into a raw chicken sandwich and when we told our bartender it seemed as if they were more annoyed with us telling them that we were served raw chicken. A manager never came to to even touch the bar to see if everything was ok after the RAW chicken sandwich was served in her restaurant but she was quick to jump up when her friends arrived.

Had an 8PM reservation on Saturday night, very disappointed with the staffing. Hostess was not at her station, spent several minutes waiting to be seated. Another 10 minutes until someone came to fill our water glasses, and we placed our drink order. I counted 2 servers and the hostess trying to help, the bar and restaurant were half full. At 8:45, no one had come by the table to check on us and drinks still had not arrived, and we had to walk out. I noticed the other tables also had very slow service, and other diners looking for their server.

If you are looking for a classy and elegant atmosphere. This your spot! Food is delicious and service was excellent! And the drinks were on point! I literally sat at the bar and enjoyed the esthetics of restaurant all nigh! Definitely check it out!

We were just there and I have to say they need more than one bartender on a Saturday night especially with games and conventions going on. We asked to sit at the tables beside the bar and waited for the bartender to come take our drink order. After about 10 minutes my cousin went to the bar to order and take the drinks back but was never greeted. After 5 minutes of him standing at the bar waiting I went to the hostess and asked for a glass of water and told her the bartender never took our order. She told me she told me to sit at the bar. I told her even standing at the bar we weren't getting service. The bartender disappeared ans when she came back onsaw her asking a server for water and the server said we don't have any. At that point I couldn't take the disappointment any more ans we left and are now at a bar with service. If you go here on a Saturday night if you aren't sitting at a table, wear your patience hat!

A bit pricey for the selection. You are paying for the location.

Everything here was amazing. The food was perfect. The chef did an amazing job. Definitely recommend the salmon covered fried shrimp and potstickers as appetizers. The entree was amazing as well. The atmosphere was great. Ester and Zoe, the bar tender and waitress were great and super attentive. We loved every part of the evening and the manager Shanelle was nice too. The chef came out personally and we told him how awesome the food was. Would recommend. This is a hidden gem in downtown Atl. Just go. Everything will be perfect.

We ordered sushi and split a vegetable side. One of them kept both of us with extremely unhappy and gurgly stomachs the next few days...

Came here for a bite before a concert. Waited at the front desk for a few minutes, a new server comes by and asks what we need. We were told "We're doing reservation only." Okay. "Well, what about the bar?" "Oh, you can sit there." 😒
My partner got water-flavored sangria. We were told "all sales are final". Thankfully, the manager was nice enough to take that off the tab and allow us to order a different drink.
My food was ok. But the servers were running around and clearly a bit understaffed. The bathrooms didn't match up to the level of quality they were trying to mimic in there. The bathroom faucet was literally loose - you could spin it in circles by accident. Needless to say the experience was very off-putting, mostly because of the customer service.

When in the south, order southern comfort food. I ordered the fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and the brussel sprouts. All were delicious. The shrimp and grits was a huge portion! So good!

Food was amazing but the service was absolutely awful. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were inattentive and incredibly rude.

The restaurant was beautiful. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an app, and they were very good. The sushi (Dragons Breath) was pretty average - nothing special. Service was okay. Our frustration was “happy hour “ that is advertised on the website and social channels. The website clearly stated when happy hour was the day we went, so we didn’t hesitate ordering a second round of drinks before we left. We got the bill and there was no happy hour discount. We asked the server and she said, “oh, we don’t have happy hour here.” We told her it was advertised on the website and she said “Oh, I’ve never seen our website.” Pretty frustrating considering we made reservations. We’ll skip this place next time we’re in ATL for a concert.

Ambience - Nice atmosphere with a variety of music in the background. I heard 70s all the way through today's popular hits.
Service - My waiter was relatively attentive and quick to offer a hand. He also checked to see if I needed anything a few times. It was lunch hour so not much was going on. Hopefully, that trend would continue through the night.
Food - The salmon sandwich was the best of the day. It had a hint of spice and decent flavor. Personally, the amount of arugula was overwhelming but some may enjoy it. The fries were sub-par and the calamari rings were nothing short of overcooked, bland, and terrible. I felt like i was eating small race tires in fried batter.
Parking - Typical for Atlanta. Either a parking lot or, if you're lucky, a street spot that cost WAY less.
Accessibility - Didn't see any wheelchair ramps, so I'm uncertain if there were any around the side. The front door definitely didn't have any.
Overall - It was okay. I was underwhelmed and probably wouldn't return. It just didn't leave that type of impression on me.

I would give five stars but I can't have sauce and grains and simply asked for plain salmon with veggies and a bunch of bourbon glaze covered my salmon, was also on the plate and the veggies had a bunch of farro mixed in. Taste was great but I had to do surgery on my dinner because I didn't get what I asked for. The food is amazing here though. Second time I've eaten here.

Everything here is amazing! From the bathrooms to the food to the service. The same as prepared to perfection I ordered the lychee martini, and it was just amazing so I had to order another one. Jesus, he was fresh and full of flavor! Will definitely like to dine here again when we return to Atlanta!

Got there at 9pm, they close at 10pm. They said that they weren't seating anyone else for the evening. Pretty empty, guess we know why.

Dropped by here for some lunch before perusing downtown and was greatly delighted! Some friends and I browsed online for a bite to eat, and Thrive was in a really convenient spot, with a great menu!
Right away, we were blown away by the ambiance and interior of the restaurant -- super chic! I ordered the Herben Tuna Nicoise, some Salmon Sashimi, and got Crispy Calamari Rings for our appetizer. Our waiter was so nice and charismatic, and recommended some great dishes!
Food came out timely and was delicious alongside great presentation! Would definitely drop by again!

I stopped by the bar after a meeting today as it was in the same building. I sat at the bar, and the service was terrible. No one greeted me for 12 minutes; the bartender was the worst. I never got her name. I asked several times what the ceviche was for the day, and she just shrugged. The bar was somewhat busy but not overly so that she couldn't manage to tell me her name or the ceviche. The bar was also dirty, and I had to use a cocktail napkin to wipe it down. I never had food, only a drink. I spent 20 minutes waiting for the drink and overheard one of the workers say the wait for sushi was an hour so I didn't even order food. It was just not a good experience at all, especially for the first time. I would have been better off walking across the street to the Glenn hotel.

Incredible food! Syarted with awesome calamari appetizer. We had the sushi, steak, and salads and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of everything. Zoe was absolutely incredible and you should definitely ask for her section when you visit!!!!!
