Nagomiya is an authentic Japanese-owned IZAKAYA that focuses on intimate dining experience in private rooms as we serve top notch sushi along with diverse tapas and craft cocktails.
As you're surrounded by abundant greenery, a Zen Garden mural and beautiful summer colors, we hope you'll stop to take a moment and enjoy a tranquil dining experience with us here in your own Oasis in Midtown. This wish for our guests to relax and take a moment of joy led to our name Nagomiya which translates into 'House of Tranquility'.
Food was fairly good. Service was friendly. Well-stocked bar.
However, I did not order what I wanted because they were missing ingredients and had a line out the door of people frustrated about reservations or delivery orders. It may have been an off day, but the Pork Gyoza and tuna nigiri were pretty good.

Went for a birthday celebration, we made a reservation for a booth so there was no wait when we arrived. The booth is super nice it has curtains for privacy and we were able to open and close them as we please. This restaurant has a cool bell on the table we ring when we need something so that was super helpful. We ordered the Takoyaki as an appetizer and it was super yummy and fresh. We also ordered the grilled calamari although it did take a while to arrive at the table it was super delicious. Our server was friendly and they were quick to come to our table when we rung the bell. I especially love the ramen and two sushi rolls I can be very indecisive so being able to pick a few options is great and there is such a huge portion for a good price. Overall super yummy food we’ve been there twice at this point the service was pretty good and I would recommend visiting.

Nagomiya, the up-scale sister restaurant of Wagaya, is a great choice for traditional, authentic Japanese food in the Atlanta area, with a relaxing and chill vibe and beautiful interior. The menu is smaller and has many familiar options but a few new and delicious additions. The meals we tried were all fantastic, from the Curry to the Cold Soba, I would recommend anything we tried. We did have to wait a while for the food, but it was worth the wait. We had to end it with our favorite, the Matcha Cheesecake! Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Japanese food with a relaxing atmosphere.

Low light. Dim sum. Hot sake. Closed shades. Oooh the possibilities, this place has to offer & indulge into. Let’s talk about the vibe this place is an absolute vibe. Perfect for Date Night. Without the kids. Cooked to perfection & order the food is amazing so dam fresh I enjoyed it two days later.
Truffle Ramen is an absolute YESSSSS! The sushi was so perfect, & im usually a tempura girl this place did the raw thing right! Love love love! Flavors bursting more than the butterflies 🦋 from the date. My partners salmon 🍣 chicken was superb.

So, this is the best Japanese curry I've had in the United States, hands down. Wife had sizzling sukiyaki udon, and it was fantastic. So much flavor, thin slices of beef were succulent, soft, and tender. Also had a California role, which was so good, even the wife ate it. She's not usually a fan of that role, but here, it was... Elevated... Everything was, truly next level. Including the service, I regret not getting her name, but she was a blonde haired young woman who kept our glasses filled, throughout our stay. Beautiful little spot, great service and good sushi.
We really enjoyed almost everything we ordered. Started with Serrano Hamachi starter and Karrage chicken, both phenomenal. My husband ordered the bluefin platter and a dragon roll and loved them both. I got a double shrimp roll that was delicious, and the tonkatsu Ramen that was mid at best. Finished off with mochi ice cream and daifuku, both were pretty good.
The two things that brought my otherwise good review down were the fact that at was muggy and warm in the place, felt like the AC hadn't been turned on but 5 minutes before we arrived.
There were also fruit flies coming and going out of the little soy sauce container they had on the table, so I asked for soy sauce packets which they obliged.

The food served at Nagomiya has been on a steady decline for the past few years. I first went when the restaurant had recently opened and used to love the katsu curry. It would taste great, have a nice portion of rice, lettuce, and chicken. However they changed the dish to become basically fried chicken with rice and a little bit of curry along with a price increase, disappointing.
Since then I've been getting rolls. These were great at first but slowly, the quality has been decreasing as well.
The main reason I go now is for the atmosphere and because it is a convenient place to eat but I will stop going once I move away from Midtown.

I've been going since before the big renovations and the new design was definitely a needed upgrade that now makes the meal price more worthwhile. The bento boxes and lunch specials are a great deal but don't get caught paying $10+ for the same exact meal because you got lunch during the weekend like I did, it only applies during the week. The omurice was no good, $15 and the egg was entirely cooked through, that's not even an omurice anymore. The ambience is what really takes the cake, you get a little booth where you get a privacy curtain which is a great idea and the interior design is beautiful.

Great! I wish that was all I could say in this review. Because that sums it up! The atmosphere was chill with privacy curtains. Everything we ate was fantastic! Between the four of us, we tried mushroom miso, sashimi, and sushi. My husband said that the yellow jacket roll was the best sushi he has ever had!

I had the curry and nigiri sushi here, and both were excellent and very authentic to what you would find in Japan. In fact, this would be considered delicious in Japan too. Lots of attention to detail in the food and service. The staff was so friendly even though they were very busy. I would recommend Nagomiya to anyone looking for good, authentic Japanese food.

Terrible manager. He didn’t apologize for the bad food. All he cares about is money. The Katsudon pork tastes unbearably bad, flavorless and too hard, so we called manager, who offered to make a new pork cutlet. We asked if we could get a refund since we are almost full. The manager then said: “next time don’t eat the food if you don’t like it so that we can take it back. This time we will give you refund, but then you have the food for free. (Frowned his face)
Okay but how are we supposed to know if the food is bad if we don’t try? After taking the food back are you gonna give it to another customer? It also seems they can’t stand the customer having food for free.
Visited 4 months ago
I came here 5+ times and this will be the last. Their dishes are dirty, not washed thoroughly I even had to wipe them myself. The katsudon is very bad. The pork is hard and hurts my teeth. It is not fried, and tastes like some dollar tree frozen food. Very disappointing. Not worth the money. I will never come back. (To be fair their Tempura is the best, sizzling udon is full of nutrients and that’s it. The rest from what I’ve had here is a 1$ worth but sells you 20$)

Very quiet during lunch. Service was good. We ordered the lunch special, teriyaki salmon with 2 rolls. The crunchy roll was weird. It was full of panko or tempura flakes. I guess I'm just used to it being on top and not used as a filler. The salmon was a little overdone. I'll eat anything but my lunch mate didn't eat hers. We will definitely be back but just remember to ask for it to be cooked less next time and won't be ordering the crunchy roll again

This place has potential, but there were some serious operational issues while we were there last Saturday. We made a 5:30 reservation and walked in, admittedly, a little late at 5:43 (the restaurant re-opens at 5:30 p.m. for dinner service).
When we placed our drink order, my husband and I both requested a highball - whisky and soda. She brought our companion's Diet Coke and beer, and another 10 minutes later, told us that they're out of club soda and can't make them. We re-ordered, and another 10 minutes later, my drink arrives but now they're out of the sake my husband ordered - so 30 minutes in, we have barely gotten drinks. Our appetizers and dinner ordered in this time and the apps came out in an appropriate time frame.
But, 45 minutes after ordering dinner, our food had not arrived. Our server finally came by and said she was sorry. Our ticket had been lost and they were working on our food. One would assume it was expedited, but long story short, it took another 35 minutes for all of our food to come out - even after we told her we had a show we needed to leave for. Three sushi rolls arrived over a span of 20 minutes (you'd think they'd come one right after the other if they were working with any urgency after losing our order). One was room temperature. And, I had to ask for our final roll because she wasn't attentive enough to see we were still missing it.
The server was generally unapologetic about the significant delay and no one else mentioned anything to us. There was no offer to comp even a drink or the cheapest item on our ticket.
These issues were all disappointing because we have enjoyed the sister eatery, Wagaya, for many years, and frequent the Wagaya grocery store. This venue is in a great location and we loved the intimate seating options. However, I am not inclined to return when there are better options in town.

Me and boyfriend have been here 3 times. The first two times, we didn't have any problems. Food has always tasted good. We got the treasure box on our third visit and it was really amazing flavor wise, but during our third visit the service was really bad.
When we were seated, we waited almost 15 minutes for us to be served. We rang the bell twice. No water or drinks were started and we didn't see a server on the floor for a good 5-8 minutes. I'm not sure if this Friday night was understaffed or what but the service was super slow. Also, not sure if they work as a team because only one server was attending to our table. We were sitting quite close to another table and their server did not check up on us. They seem to be working in sections.
The food took a little longer to arrive as well. We got our treasure box roll first, then had to wait quite awhile to retrieve our second roll. He did not check up on us at all. The only service we got all night was him refilling my water once. I had to ask him to refill my boyfriend's green tea, even though he overlooked his cup when getting our empty plates.
After we ordered dessert and was about to finish, the server told us "If you wanted to order something you can't because our kitchen closed." First of all, you should've went around the tables and asked earlier if we wanted to order anything else. Second, we didn't intend to order anything else after the dessert so why bother telling us? I understand if we wanted to order something else, you would tell us that but we didn't have any intention to order. Very very unprofessional. No thank you or have a good night after picking up the bill.
The first and second visit's we've had no problem with the service. We'll still come back for the food, but this particular server needs some more training. I am a server so I know it can be very very difficult so I cut them some slack, but this was very unprofessional and very very poor service overall. Nothing, service wise, was good this night.

My boyfriend and i’s first time there was spectacular the food was so good (the traditional dinner plate with teriyaki salmon and the pork cutlet curry as well as had some sushi rolls) were to DIE FOR. I usually hate pork cutlet a lot of other restaurants do it in surrounding areas and it’s usually not my thing (doesn’t taste good at all I just would never order it. Bc of my bad experience trying it for the first time in one of the other restaurants in Suwannee for example) but my boyfriend got me to try it here and I was skeptical as all hell but that bite I had, OH MY GOD it was life changing for me. So much I ate half of my boyfriend’s pork and begged for more. It was so delicious and satisfying. Overall 100/10 no other restaurant competes with it. So much so I’m going again this week after being there for the first time last week. None of my fish or sushi rolls had bones in it or the seaweed wasn’t chewy like other Japanese restaurants have, everything was top quality and made with love. The staff were extremely friendly and insightful and did their jobs correctly and outstandingly. I loved my experience there so much. I’m moving into the area soon just so I can be nearby it. That’s how delicious it is and I’m not sponsored nor do I work there or am an affiliate of any kind or anything like that. I just am so beyond impressed, in love with this place I really think the other Japanese restaurants in the surrounding areas need to take note. For another example: The sushi was so fresh everything tasted so phenomenal and was presented perfect. Again, no chewy seaweed which has been my biggest concern for sushi and have dealt with it in the surrounding areas and it’s an instant turn off for me when you can’t chew your sushi roll but no- this place it melted in your mouth and they used the most freshest fish imaginable. It was such an unreal experience I thought I was in heaven. The salmon was tender and made to perfection. No issues or any problems with fish bones or fatty pieces like some of the restaurants you’d experience or expect in nearby cities in Georgia. No more getting tired or disappointed or upset with food quality or taste. They stick to their recipes and put love in every dish. Nagomiya is THE BEST restaurant by far. Literally letting everyone know how good it truly is and how unlike every other restaurant I’ve been to. Nagomiya does it right and how you’d like. ♥️ if I could rate it 1000 I would in a heartbeat. Also, I unfortunately don’t have any photos of my experience because I was too eager and excited to devour into my meal. I’m going again tonight and will upload another review soon. ♥️

Overall 5/5: Nagomiya was recommended to us by one of our friends and it did not disappoint.
Great price point for the city and super delicious quality food and drinks.
Drinks 5/5 My boyfriend opted for a classic sapporo and i had the sparkler. It was tart if you like that in a drink. It does have little jellies inside, which i was not expecting, but still enjoyed. Would definitely like to go back to try other drinks.
Food 5/5: We enjoyed quite a bit, but will definitely have to visit once more to try their menu. They have a wide range in dishes. That day we were feeling sushi, so we had the spicy tuna roll, and the swirling eel. My favorite roll was the devil's breath. Super fun and cool, they torch it at the table. Excellent and fresh! We also had the nigiri five. In addition to the sushi we can never resist a crispy rice dish, so we also enjoyed the spicy tuna crispy rice.
Service 5/5: It was fast and friendly. Service was superb. We enjoyed our time here.
Ambiance 5/5: It was cozy, intimate. Could be a nice date night or casual dinner. It was clean inside, bathrooms were clean and really nice.
Loved the decor, it was super cute.
Thank you, Nagomiya!

This place doesn't care about their takeout orders. I received the most disgusting order today.
Pork Gyoza: was not fried to completion, clearly undercooked soggy, and sticky. Ume Shiso Roll: using ume paste but hardly any Shiso leaves were old and dirty. I pulled out a leaf with dirt still on it they all looked brown.
Cheese Karaage: the cheese appeared to have been microwaved as it was hard/cold, there was nothing good about this dish
Spicy Crunch Shrimp roll: was nothing as described in their listing, it was not spicy nor was the shrimp tempura or any avocado!
Needless to say, we did not eat the rest of our meal as there were clear signs of unsanitary food - which could lead to food poisoning. Thanks but no thanks. I highly advise you to be careful when ordering takeout here.

My wife and I tried out Nagomiya Izakaya and were thoroughly impressed! They offer four kinds of seating - traditional tables, outdoor dining, sushi bar, and private booth. We highly recommend the private booth: it's fun and different.
I had sushi and found it delightful and fresh. I especially like how the chef has decided to pair the different sushi to create unexpected taste combinations. My wife had traditional ramen and loved it: a very generous, very filling portion.
Prices are relatively high, but fair: this is definitely not "all you can eat sushi" and it shows.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and definitely cultivates a casual but proper atmosphere.
The staff was exceptional and very attentive.
They validate 2 hour parking for a nearby parking deck, which is a big help. Check out their website for exact instructions and even a video.
We will definitely be back.

Nagomiya serves a wonderful variety in a private, cozy atmosphere. Parking is validated and located close by.
The booths are little sanctuaries and the bell for the server helps avoid unnecessary intrusions. The food was a solid 4- stars. The ngiri was good for the money, but not as good as the twice as expensive omakase places. The portions in the dinner set are generous and left us full vs the anemic portions most places have these days. Maybe skip the appetizers if you don’t want to share entrees. The ramen and udon broths were delightful. The dashi broth that comes with the eel dinner set was delicate and balanced.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tempura ice cream and matcha cheesecake for dessert.

My experience with this restaurant has been absolutely dreadful, and I strongly urge potential customers to steer clear of it. The management not only cheated me out of my hours but also failed to pay me in full. Their behavior is beyond unacceptable—they even attempted to withhold my tips after I left, none of which was added to my final paycheck. I had to contact another waiter, who occasionally acts as the assistant manager, to retrieve my last cash tips, which is utterly disgraceful.
The restaurant’s health standards are appalling. The handwashing sink next to the dirty dish disposal is without working hand soap, creating significant hygiene concerns. Waitstaff are expected to simply wipe off food residue (rice, fish, dried seaweed) from utensils and rewrap them for service instead of properly washing them. This deeply unsanitary practice is a severe health risk.
A particularly alarming issue is the "eternal soy sauce." Soy sauce is collected weekly and dumped back into the same container, never fully cycled or replaced. This could potentially affect the entire supply with any contamination, posing a serious health risk to customers.
The management, led by Jonathan, despite being over 30, behaves with the pettiness and insecurity of high schoolers. I was frequently snapped at and berated over trivial matters, such as asking to leave at the scheduled time, only to be forced to stay longer because I asked at all. This immature behavior from Jonathan reflects overall incompetence. Certain waitstaff, whom he didn't favor, were constantly threatened with termination, only to be reassured by Christina and other staff that their positions were secure. This manipulative atmosphere creates an utterly toxic work environment.
While the front-of-house staff and kitchen try their best, the management has failed everyone—customers and employees alike. Waitstaff are expected to work for a mere $7.25/hour without tips for many shifts, which is far from a livable wage in metro Atlanta. Previously, they paid $12/hour for a dedicated host, but now they expect wait staff to take on these duties at the reduced rate. This blatant cost-cutting by Christina is not only immoral but also out of line with other restaurants in Midtown Atlanta.
The food, while decent, is not worth the price given the numerous issues caused by poor management. Customers should be aware of the complete lack of integrity, the shocking health code violations, and the hostile work environment perpetuated by an immature and vindictive management team. It’s smarter to choose any other Asian fusion restaurant in Midtown for better value and adherence to proper standards.
Additionally, the restaurant showcases a startling lack of originality in its menu offerings, which are nearly identical to those of Wagaya, a supposedly lower-end Japanese restaurant nearby, also owned by the same management. Despite the similar menu, this establishment prices its dishes significantly higher, demonstrating a clear case of greed and exploitation. This lazy approach not only undermines the authenticity and uniqueness expected of a higher-priced dining experience but also insults the intelligence of its patrons. The management's decision to recycle the same menu at inflated prices without enhancing quality or offering any new culinary experiences is a testament to their disregard for genuine hospitality and innovation. This lack of effort and creativity is another reason why potential customers should reconsider their dining choices and opt for places that offer originality and fair pricing.
Moreover, the management's deceit extends to constantly lying about staff conditions, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. Employees are treated with utter disrespect, and their well-being is blatantly disregarded. The sheer level of negligence and the toxic culture make this establishment one of the worst in the area. Avoid it at all costs.

We went to try the 9-course omakase for Mother’s Day. (And now they extend it all the weekends in May!!) It is super delicious and definitely worth the money! I think the a la carte price is more than 150, but it’s only 75 per person. all the food is very fresh and delicious. The presentation is also very good. We also tried the scallop risotto and it definitely worths the try! My favorite is the miso marinated cod. I’ll definitely come back and try more next time.

Nagomiya is one of my favorite sushi restaurants around. The prices are great, the food is really good, but most importantly the service is AMAZING.
If you go, you definitely have to get Ashley to serve you. She was caring, attentive, intelligent, and hilariously entertaining. She made the experience an 11/10 and shared a lot about her passion to avoid food waste and encourage her customers to eat as much as they possibly can. If you go to Nagomiya, you HAVE to have her to make the experience complete.
11/10, got to ask for Ashley.

I was excited to try this place based on the reviews and pictures and unfortunately the experience didn't live up to it. Tried the tataki, grilled calamari, edamame, sunomono, and some sushi. Calamari and tataki were great but everything else was not. Most disappointing was the sushi. Super small amounts and thin pieces, especially for the prices. I've had much better. The sunomono was just bitter greens with specs of other ingredients listed. Sushi roll I got had VERY little amounts of fish. Sashimi was wayyyy too small and thin and didn't taste fresh at all. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend or anyone, especially for the prices and quantity/quality received.

I'm a college student nearby, so I'm always on the hunt for good food near my campus, and Nagomiya is definitely a positive note on my list. I wasn't expecting the authenticity and more importantly, quality that I found here, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. The Sashimi and Nigiri was excellent, in addition to the tempura I also got with my dinner platter, the 'Kaisen'. While it was a bit pricey, the food was worth the money without a doubt. Would recommend for anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine with an excellent vibe/atmosphere.

I recently went back to celebrate a birthday dinner and honestly, it was a blast. The food was top-notch; I went for the Chicken Paitan and we all shared a couple of sushi rolls and "bites". My friends were a bit more adventurous, trying out something called Cotton Candy Sukiyaki (who comes up with these lol?) along with some seasonal dishes and dinner sets. Everything tasted great.
The service was decent - nothing to write home about but did the job. If you're into beers, you might find them a bit on the lighter side here. They're okay, but nothing amazing. The real winner in the drinks department is their sake selection - lots of variety.
All in all, I'm looking forward to going back. The food's great, the drinks have something for everyone, and the closed atmosphere for dining and overall vibe is very nice.

He made reservations ahead of time so we could have a booth to ourselves which I highly recommend as it is first come first serve and definitely added to our experience. Our server, Elva, was also great! We ordered Takoyaki, Shumai, and Gyoza to start. My fiancé loved the Takoyaki and the Gyoza was so flavorful. We then ordered 4 different rolls and all of them were amazing but we will definitely be getting the Double Shrimp Roll & Volcano Roll again. We ended off the night with two desserts and both were delicious! We will be recommending to our friends and will be back :)

Our food was amazing but the service was 0/10.
We got wrong order and server refused to believe that our order was wrong. Had to ask her 3 times and get the right order.

While the food at the restaurant was surprisingly good, the overall experience was marred by a waitress who managed to drop my dinner in my lap. To add insult to injury, the manager was nowhere to be found on a bustling Saturday night. The feeble apology offered by the staff did little to remedy the situation, and the absence of any attempt to compensate for the inconvenience, like covering a dry cleaning bill, left me with a bitter taste that overshadowed the flavors of the meal.

Treat yourself turned into watch yourself, and for no reason.
I used to come here about 4-6 times a year, usually to splurge on well-made sushi, as midtown lacks in sushi made well and I live close by - usually they rush us, so today was SHOCKING, but hard to overlook
Pretty sure the server thought i was gonna walk-out at any moment, my entire night was SO DIFFERENT than any other experience, and it was schitty, despite spending 100 on my own, as 1 person. (Not abnormal for me, on certain occasions, like tonight - I even told the server I was treating myself)
Never have I ever had a night like this there, or anywhere... and as a solo female diner, I won't be back. Probably not ever.
I did nothing but show up to my reservation, (yes i made a resv for 1)
and order - but despite their "ring me when you're ready" policy, the server and the MOD were ALL up my butt all night, until they weren't.
They have a traditional Japanese service, press the button, get served.
The many times I'd been there, THEY SHOWED UP. not tonight.
And, when I've tried to course out food before, you order.. it arrives in a few moments whether that's what you wanted or not. If you want your food coursed out, you order it in courses
Tonight, I ordered. I sat. I rang the bell. I sat. I rang the bell. I sat. No food. No service until I questioned someone
I sat some more.
I also heard they discussed that I made a reservation..
I won't be going again. I can order delivery from somewhere else instead.
I hope the sushi chef and support staff got my tip

We always have a great time dining here! Our favorite server, Jonathan Tucker, provided exceptional service as always. He is a consistent slayer! You go Jonathan! #NeverChange
Pros:
- funny
- attentive
- accepts tips in the form of kombucha, sparkling water, and vegan cheesecake from Whole Foods

We dined here last night…we experienced a mix of positives and negatives.
The food was decent, and our waitress was attentive, providing good service throughout the meal. However, the drinks, aside from the lychee martini, were very disappointing. When my husband received a drink that he couldn't consume due to its poor quality, the general or regional manager refused to replace it and insisted we pay for it, along with an additional drink.
Despite our attempts to discuss the issue, the manager did not personally address the situation, opting instead to have the waitress convey their non-negotiable stance. And to add insult to the situation, she just sat at the bar on her laptop, dismissive and without a care. This lack of effective leadership and customer service left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing the otherwise satisfactory aspects of our dining experience. (She needs re-training!)
Service truly matters in the restaurant business, and unfortunately, the management's handling of this situation fell short. As a result, we will not be back, ever!

I would come back to Atlanta from Canada just to eat at Nagomiya again. From the food to the service, my experience at Nagomiya was incredible. I would especially like to thank Christina for being so incredibly accommodating and kind. The fish was so fresh and every dish we had was so delicious. Thank you Christina and the staff at Nagomiya for the best dining experience!

All food was great. Service left much to be desired - we ordered the traditional lunch special and server put our order in for the full traditional meal with sashimi (we explicitly ordered the lunch specials due to price). When the check came, it was $20 higher than anticipated. The server acknowledged their mistake but did not offer to make the situation right via discount or any other method. Excellent Japanese food but would not return unless customer service improves.

Just got takeout from here via DoorDash. Will not get again. Maybe it’s better in the restaurant based on all these reviews. My partner and I both got the ramen + two sushi rolls.
The ramen was pretty tasty, good broth. Noodles were fine, probably better in the restaurant.
Giving two stars because the sushi was pretty terrible. Spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail. The rice was weirdly firm and the fish did not taste fresh. I tried a piece of each kind, and then did not eat the rest because it did not taste good. Although I am a fan of high end sushi I am also
not a sushi snob and am down for some cheap sushi when I have a craving, but not this. I don't usually write reviews as I get that maybe places have an off night, and it's hard to make people happy! Seems like a lot of people like this place but hopefully they can step up their delivery game.

This restaurant is very cute and a great place to grab small bites. I ordered the wagyu steak bites, spicy gyoza soup and a steamed egg. The soup was amazing! Definitely would recommend for a cold or rainy day. The steak was just ok, and I loved steamed egg. I would definitely visit again.

Really cool experience, very nice casual and family-style sushi digs in Midtown Atlanta. The service here is great and staff are very attentive. The raw fish used in the sushi is very fresh. The menu is rich and varied, with uncommon menu items, standing out from other sushi restaurants. The Takoyaki (octopus balls) is incredible and the sauteed calamari is very good. The absolute must-try is the Negitoro Roll, a very tender tuna belly roll part of their Bluefin Tune Special menu. Of the sushi items, Dragon's Breath and Four Seasons stand out. Dessert is also delicious, the matcha cheesecake in particular. It's a sister restaurant to WaGaYa with a similar sushi menu. Highly recommended.

Did not have a good experience here. Again. The booth smelled like urine. Or something did, maybe we were seated near the bathrooms? I don't know. The Japanese salmon was totally overcooked and bland and the sushi was thin and mostly rice. One of the staff mopped the floor during our dinner and it overwhelmed the whole place with the smell of pine sol cleaner. So urine and pine sol, very off putting. Too expensive and a waste of money. We won't go there again.

There are two asian waitress: one is at the reception, the other is at the bar section. I ordered food online at 11:38mins. It says pickup time is 12:40. So I called them if that pick up time is correct, and if it is, was going to cancel the order. But an waitress she says it’s going to take 20-30 mins. So I didn’t cancel it. I arrived there at 12:02, a waitress at the reception, she says the food are coming out shortly. But until 12:20 foods were not ready. If they told me it could take more than 30 mins, def, I would have canceled. Anyroad, I canceled because they say the foods are coming out shortly again. I couldnt waste more time. Because my lunch time is running out. And even the waitress at the bar, she is sooooooo rude.

Not sure if I just got really unlucky but I am so surprised by how many great reviews this place has. Had been wanting to go for a while. Most of the rolls had incredibly fishy, not fresh taste, almost to the point of not wanting to finish it. The rolls are small, 4 specialty rolls and fried tempura appetizer was hardly enough food for 2 people, 70 dollars. Just overall disappointed and will not be returning.

Outstanding food! The flavors blend exactly right for the best Thai food I have ever eaten. It's so sad that I was visiting from out of town. I would eat here every night if I could. A little pricey but worth every penny.

Ate here a couple nights ago and I have to say that while the food was a bit underwhelming, everything else was a 10/10. They validate parking for 2 hours and have nice, dim booths! My husband booked a reservation beforehand so wait time was zero for us.
Food: Non sushi items were definitely tastier than the sushi. My husband had one of the noodles and it was better than any of the sushi we ordered.
Drinks: 5/5 The cocktails were so good! They have a pretty decent selection.
Service: They had a little button which we found convenient. Food and sushi didn’t take too long to come out, maybe 20-50 mins? But, they were brought out slowly, so we worked on our appetizers first and by the time those were done, our server brought out our mains so it didn’t really feel like we waited that long. We had the best server ever, great conversationalist. Super fast, very knowledgeable and sweet (and we had a lot of questions), and not to mention she was the cutest little thing ever. She made sure to check up on us and cleared our finished plates, so friendly and it felt like she genuinely cared for our experience here. Thank you so much to our server Vivian, we loved her !! Sooo adorable omg my heart, made it too hard to not enjoy our experience.
Ambiance: Very intimate setting. I will say it’s a little dark but not too big of an issue. Music was nice and booths are very pretty!
Overall would come back just for the service and drinks, but the food wasn’t half bad either.

This place just always happens to miss the mark. My coworker and I ordered two separate rolls however they placed them together in one container. I’m pregnant and cannot eat anything raw and wouldve preferred for the food to be separate the way it was ordered. The last time I ordered from here the portion sizes were ridiculously small and the rolls are even tinier. Not worth the $& at all!
Visited a year ago
really understaffed, seemed like the poor host was expected to do everything herself, the food was a reflection of that.

Nagomiya always takes good care of me and my girlfriend whenever we arrive. She is particularly fond of their miso because it closely resembles the soup she’s accustomed too in Japan. Sorry we couldn’t document the food before we dove into it. This location is always a great place to test the limits of our stomach.

This restaurant is cute but the food is just not good. Miso soup was ok but all the sushi we had just didn't taste fresh. I've had better from the grocery store and that bar is very low.
Visited 2 years ago
I didn't expect to find authentic great quality Japanese food in Atlanta but Nagomiya has proven me wrong. Everyone knows that I am a very hard critic on Asian food and especially Japanese food. So a perfect score doesn't come easy.
The restaurant set up gives you a lot of privacy, booths with drapes mostly, but maybe a little too dark for my taste. We had to use the table lamp and the cellphone flash light to actually see the menu. The service was great, fast and accurate, the only complaint that I had was that the dinner sets came first, before the appetizer and sushi. Normally this is a big no no. This normally happens when the kitchen was not very busy but the sushi bar was, so the server should know how to time the orders.
Regardless, very authentic, loved the fatty tuna selection and presentation. Crispy but not greasy tempura, perfect temperature Udons and grilled fish. The menu is not too big so it is easier to choose from. I wonder what the Tonkatsu and Chicken offerings are like, with curry for example. So far, no weaknesses and highly recommended. I will definitely come back here when I return to ATL.

Cooked dishes were great and there’s a lot of options. Highly recommend the chawanmushi and fried oysters. Most of the raw stuff was fine as well but the caviar had a slight funk to it so might have been on its way to spoiling. The curtains for the booths is a nice touch for people who might want a little more privacy.

My favorite sushi place in town. It never disappoints. Fish is always fresh. Love the staff here. King Salmon, blue fin Toro, Veggie Tempura roll, Octopus, and the waygu are my go to.
Try the fried crabs (it's an experience) and the Bluefin Tuna Nigiri special, it's so good! Do an Omakase, highly recommend.
Last night I had my "go to" moden Nigiri above and the King Salmon Tataki, and some salmon belly Nigiri. Also got the Kimchi with the pork belly sliced in it (Buta Kamuchi). Spicy, but so good.

As first timers in Atlanta, parking was semi difficult to find since we missed the street where the garage was. Once we were in, we sat in a private booth which was surprisingly very cozy. We were greeted by our server, who has the most divine voice. The food? Perfect. We enjoyed some delicious chashu for the appetizer and ramen/sushi combo for our main entree. Would definitely recommend!!!

Excellent food and service. We went here for a birthday and we absolutely loved the ambiance, the service, and the food. The sushi, shrimp tempura, and the noodle soup were very flavorful and excellent. Sophie the server made our night extra special and sung the happy birthday song. Sophie really went above and beyond - we are truly very greatful that we came here.
From the intimate setting to the food, and amazing service - we will definitely be returning back. Jonathan was very instrumental too and made sure everything was being taken care of. Keep it up y’all.

Service is great. Atmosphere is great. The food is terrible. Not worth the money. Notice all the five star review are "local guide" don't believe it. If you want great sushi, this is not the place for you. If you just want to eat because you are hungry, then this place is ok.

Service and ambience is nice. But that's literally it. If you're the kind of person who has (let's jus say) seasoned taste buds, you'll find all there rolls to be very bland, awkward, with strange textures. Publix pre packaged grade sushi. I'm almost tempted to fly all the way to Japan just to ensure that this isn't how they make sushi (American style or not). My whole family literally sat at the restaurant depressed everytime a new order came to the table.

This place was great. Parking wasn't too bad to get here, but definitely make sure you park where they mention cuz you can get your parking validated.
This was very nice. I loved the look of the inside. I would definitely look forward to eating there with a group cuz they set things up so you can have a very private and intimate experience as they have numerous booths with curtains that can be closed to keep you closed off, and the server will only come over after a button push unless they're bringing you your stuff.
This place seems like a nicer version of their sister restaurant Wa Ga Ya but with being an izakaya. I really would enjoy coming back to enjoy more of their menu aside from the lunch specials.
With that said, the food here for lunch was great. I really enjoyed my nigiri lunch special along with salmon onigiri. The onigiri tasted awesome and was filled with more smoked salmon than I expected so was a great choice. The nigiri lunch was just the right amount, especially since it still came with a California roll plus the miso soup, which was very flavourful.
Overall, the service was great, my food and drink were delivered fairly quickly and the food tasted great so I have no complaints about this place. I can't wait to come back to enjoy more of the menu options

Made a to go order and was told 30-40 minutes. Got to the place and and was told "We got busy, it will be another 30-40 minutes”. It's a Wednesday and it was 4 rolls. It's not like it was a crazy make from scratch dish that would take a while. I do not recommend ordering take out from this place.

Fantastic, exceptional Japanese restaurant. Their sushi, sashimi, and nigiri are all flavorful, fresh, and wonderfully delicious.
There are plants and greenery everywhere on the inside, which gives the restaurant an air of eating inside a private garden. They've recently renovated to include private booths as well for an even more intimate dining experience.
Everything on the menu is incredible, but I loved the Chicken Karagae and the Takoyaki as appetizers and their Ramen selection. The staff are incredibly nice and prompt as well.
The drinks are also amazing, I personally recommend the Bonsai which has green tea shochu and pineapple.

One of the consistently best spots in the city for Japanese cuisine and one of our all time faves for a nice night out. The new addition of the private booths allows guests to enjoy an amazing meal in an intimate setting, which adds to an overall unique experience. With an extensive cocktail/liquor/beer menu and an expanded menu, I have been impressed with every choice I have made so far. Can’t wait to go back to try some more things!
