Casual outpost for cooked Japanese & Asian dishes alongside creative sushi rolls & sashimi.
A phenomenal restaurant. All the sushi rolls I have had are rocking awesome. The shiki tower appetizer is great. The gyoza taste wonderful. The crispy fried salmon roll and paradise roll (also fried) are delicious! We come here very often and are always always happy with everything! Across the board a fantastic sushi and Asian fusion choice. Several options for those who want noodle dishes or hibachi dishes. And even Chinese style meals. The hibachi tastes great. Honestly everything it great and the waitresses are wonderful! Don’t wait!

I almost always get the same dish here (hibachi plate) but switch up the protein. Today I got the shrimp hibachi. I like how it comes with a good amount of veggies. It is served with ginger salad and rice. Yumm!
My husband got the steak teriyaki plate. Me liked the hibachi cowl better as it was more veggies! Still excellent flavors but we both prefer the hibachi entree over the teriyaki. The yum yum sauce that comes with it is always good !

Bottom line:
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Fish is flavorless/low quality, most of the food was bland, better sushi for similar prices elsewhere in the area. Service was good though.
Preface:
I've been here a handful of times for their 3 regular rolls for $17 lunch special. I didn't like the fish, but since it was cheap I figured why not. I stopped going because I liked the Publix $5 sushi Wednesday deal better. I came back this time to write a solid review of the experience, and it was all the same as when I used to go more often about 7 months ago.
Atmosphere:
Very clean. Mid-light ambience. Very spacious. Very quiet so you can enjoy conversation with your party.
Food:
I enjoyed the $5 sushi Wednesdays at the Publix across the street better.
The Miso Soup interestingly had more flavor than the last “higher end” sushi restaurant I went to, but their veggies didn’t seem that fresh. The seaweed wasn’t tender at all, very tough.
The ginger dressing for the salad was pretty bland and they could have done a better job pulling apart the salad. The pieces were very large, not easy to eat in one bite.
The Saké Mule did not look very aesthetic at all and tasted watered down.
We got the Maki Combo under the Sushi Bar Entrée Menu which includes three regular rolls and the ginger salad for $22.
The Shrimp Tempura Roll had decent flavor with the eel sauce, but the tempura itself wasn’t as crispy as I expected. On a scale of sogginess to crispiness, I would give it a 6/10
The Caterpillar Roll had the best presentation in my opinion, but also had a somewhat similar issue.
The Alaska Roll should have been my favorite since it had the most raw fish which I love. Unfortunately, the fish itself did not have any flavor. The spicy Mayo was also very scarce. As you can see in the photo, it’s very easy to miss that they included it at all. I would rather them have drizzled it over the entire roll. The end pieces were also obviously neglected.
Overall, the fish(the most important part of sushi) was very bland. I didn’t enjoy it.
Service:
I went later in the evening about an hour and fifteen minutes before closing. It wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Our waitress visited us frequently to make sure everything was fine. Our food came out very promptly. I accidentally dropped my chopsticks. The waitress noticed from across the restaurant and immediately brought me another pair without being asked.
I do, however, enjoy a wait staff that feels more relatable and friendly to talk to. Not to say she wasn’t very kind/polite. Overall very satisfied with the service.
Overall, I would give this restaurant two stars if it wasn’t for the great service that our waitress provided. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t visit this restaurant again. You can get better sushi elsewhere in the area for the same price.

Pretty good joint. 👍 fulfilled my sushi craving after a long day of shopping in hot-lanta. As always spent more than I should have, shopping and sushi..... Really fresh salmon, melted in my mouth. Really great presentation, and delicious flavors. Beauty and the beast roll was on point. It's how we ended our meal, definitely suggest it. Hi-HO!

Interestingly enough this was not on our itinerary and surprisingly enough we did enjoyed most of the dishes.
Upon ordering the sea food udon, we were expecting a soup and not things grilled but was good along with the angry roll. There was also a pizza sushi which was diffrent and weird at the same time, would I order it again? Probably not but quite the experience lol

Had my first date with my wife here and it was amazing. The food plus the service was immaculate. The booths are comfy and bouncy which I like and the table's are never sticky. When walking in I always get serviced, they are quick to it and always have a smile. The TVs always got sports on which is a good thing for when the wife is yapping about something I can look over at the some NBA game playing. JK I love my wife. But really, the food is so good, my wife always gets some sushi and I always get some hibachi which I devour. For leftovers its still good, the food saves very well. And the location is also amazing. After the meal you can head right across the street to Target to get some dessert for home or do some shopping right after a filling meal. Overall 10/10 love this place!

I went to Nova for a quick lunch. The food was okay. The waitress that ran out of the restaurant, loudly asking me why I didn't leave a tip for Mongolian beef and tap water was embarassing and unprofessional. I'll never come back here.

Ordered Triple Play which consists of 12 tuna or salmon or yellowtail sushis. They want you to order only one of the three for all 12 sushi’s. I requested 6 salmon and 6 yellowtail sushi’s which is no big deal. I was told that They would do it for an extra dollar. They obviously don’t care about the customer and how stupid to demand an extra dollar on a dinner that would have come to approximately $75-90. No business sense nor desire to provide customer satisfaction.
My wife and I left restaurant with no intention of returning. All because of $1!!!!

Had* been my go-to sushi take out spot for many years. Great quality and great food but they forget things often and this time was quite dismissive about it. Called upon realizing there were missing items. They said they’d put a note for next time rather than refund me the item. I never understand that - it takes 2 seconds. They just don’t want to do it. Just picked up food and they told me no note in the system and gave me some attitude about it.

I actually came on here to change my review from a few years ago. This place has declined significantly. The food isn’t good quality anymore. The sushi is served warm and the fish is absolutely flavorless. Even soy sauce couldn’t save it. I’ve given it two more chances and it’s still disappointed me. I won’t order again unless I hear they’ve made efforts to improve.

The host was extremely rude for absolutely no reason. We decided to sit at the bar instead of the booth & were met with heavy sighs & looks of disdain. Then once we sat down at the bar, the bartender asked what we’d like to drink. We responded by telling her we haven’t been to the restaurant before & wanted to look over the menu. She rolled her eyes & laughed, then went to the hostess to whisper something.
I totally understand why on a Friday afternoon during happy hour this establishment is completely empty… the attitude & general nastiness of these women would keep a lot of possible business away.

Worst this chicken fried rice I have ever had. The chicken had the weirdest texture and taste. I checked my receipt to see if I ordered chicken. I didn’t taste like chicken and the chewing consistency wasn’t like chicken. Finally, the overall flavor profile was bland. Couldn’t even taste the basil - only saw one leave of basil in it.

I’ve eaten here several times both dine in and delivery, unfortunately my order late last night chained me to the toilet through the night and again this morning when I woke up. In hindsight, the spicy tuna and spicy salmon sushi definitely tasted off. With getting sick, I won’t be ordering or dining here again and don’t recommend it.

Recently got food here to go the other night. We ordered two chicken hibachi entrees which came with typical yum yum sauce. Once brought home we heat up our food and proceeded to pour the yum yum sauce on our food. If anyone is familiar with eating hibachi this is very common. Unaware about what was about to happen we try the food and it is the most disgusting flavor I have ever endured. I tried the yum yum sauce alone and tasted like microplastic burnt cleaner. Literally tasted nothing like yum sauce it was so bad it is unexplainable. Like burnt vape. Unfortunately they were closed by the time we started eating so we couldn’t call immediately. We called the next day and was informed to call back Friday to speak to the manager.
We call and are told they can’t give us a refund for our food that got ruined from their rancid sauce but can only issue us a $25 credit which mind you our total was $70. The manager proceeded to say we would have had to bring the food back in for the chef to inspect it and for them to taste our food?? So gross and weird. This restaurant needs to reconsider how to keep their customers happy. A $25 credit is the bare minimum to offer TWO people to come back when the food is off putting we don’t want it anymore. The customer service lacks.

I think this is what we ordered:
- Buckhead roll
- Naruto roll
- Dragon roll
Overall I really enjoyed all the sushi items we got. The Naruto roll is my favorite, the outer layer of cucumber instead of rice makes it quite refreshing, and the slices of sashimi on the inside are quite big chunks.
The interior is booth style and seems to be quite a popular restaurant to visit as it was busy and thriving!

Our server was exceptional and was very knowledgeable and helpful to us.
We enjoyed their sashimi for 2 that came with salads. The cuts and portions to price were great. The quality was superb and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

This place is in a strip mall. The strip mall has two levels which makes it almost impossible to see the venue from the street. The parking lot can be busy if the other establishments are open. I came during a weekday night and there were plenty of parking.
I was immediately sat at the bar. Bar space is pretty cramped so I would suggest a table if you came with others. They had plenty of Uber Eats and Door Dash orders being picked up while I was there so it is popular.
The waitress was very attentive and recommended some good sushi rolls to me. The sushi chefs are right behind the bar and you can see them make the sushi.
I got an Alaskan roll, chef choice - looked like sashimi, and Buckhead roll. All the rolls tasted great but I liked the Alaskan roll the most.

I am a frequent visitor to Nova Sushi Bar & Asian Bistro, and each visit reaffirms why I keep coming back. Conveniently located, this gem has become my go-to spot for delicious meals.
My usual order includes the Mongolian Beef and Tuna Avocado Rolls, both of which have consistently impressed me with their exceptional taste and quality. What sets Nova Sushi apart is their willingness to accommodate small changes to my preferences, ensuring that every meal is tailored to my liking.
The staff at Nova Sushi is a standout feature – always attentive and polite. Their commitment to excellent service enhances the overall dining experience. I can honestly say that I cannot find a single fault with this place; they are doing an outstanding job in delivering consistently great food and service.
Nova Sushi Bar & Asian Bistro has become a reliable and enjoyable dining destination for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a fantastic culinary experience. Keep up the great work!

I was followed outside the establishment by my waitress and was told never to come back or I wouldn’t be served in front of multiple people in the parking lot because I didn’t give her a tip for doing absolutely nothing to deserve one.
I have spent so much money with this establishment not even because their food is good (because it’s not) but because it was near my house and convenient. There were times where they were a bit rude but never like what I experienced this day.
My waitress barely checked on me. I had to wait so long for the bill after I told her twice to bring it etc. I was rushing in and out for a lunch break and ending up being late because of her. tbh I don’t really care but I knew I wasn’t tipping her because a tip is earned not given. I’m not obligated to give you a tip especially when you didn’t even do a good job. So I paid for my food and left. This lady followed after me yelling with the receipt in hand saying things I couldn’t even repeat to you but basically forcing me to tip her like I’m supposed to want to do that now? Lol. She started giving me a rundown on how I’m obligated to tip. I asked her wasn’t she paid for the food? She said yes and I said okay so why are you harassing me? She started going off on me saying if I didn’t want to tip I shouldn’t have come out to eat I should’ve ordered take out. I turned around and kept walking then she yelled in front of everyone I should never come back and if I did she will not serve me.
I will never come back not because I was told but because of how I was treated. So the one day I don’t give a tip I’m insulted after I have eaten here hundreds of times and given out my own money that I don’t need to, as a tip to the waitresses?? You don’t treat people like that no matter what. You don’t know if someone didn’t have extra money to give that day. You don’t know if it was their last they spent on that meal. You don’t shame or embarrass someone because they don’t give you their hard earned money for free! I didn’t walk out on the bill so why am I being insulted? This is not their first time doing this I’m sure! If you want to be racially profiled, discriminated or treated like trash for mediocre food then please go right ahead and visit

Reading the reviews I can definitely tell different taste for different people. IMO everything taste the same. I stopped in for lunch a few days ago with my partner based off the reviews. The service is so fantastic makes one forget how mediocre the food is. Sushi was AMAZING, but the hibachi tasted like cheap teriyaki sauce. The bad part is that it was splattered on everything. Just too bland and flavorless for me. Maybe we came on a different day with different cooks, but I wouldn’t put this place in my top 5.

My husband and I went there for dinner on July 29, 2023. The Server was polite and the restaurant clean. However, the dishes we ordered was extremely salty. We asked why was the good so salty, and could not get a response. Another customer who heard our conversation told us that they used a lot of salt to enhance the flavor, that's why she only order veggies from them and ensure only a tip op salt.
Our bill was $47. Approximately, and we tipped them $6.00 for a meal we could not complete due to the abundance of salt, and she displayed a very unprofessional facial expression. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is conscious of his or her diet. The food is packed with salt to disguise lack of proper preparation. In addition, we ordered the purple rice which is healthier, and they gave very tiny portions (approximately, 3 tablespoons.

Nova Sushi Buckhead is a great place to go for a casual yet upscale sushi meal. The restaurant has a modern and inviting atmosphere, and the service is excellent. The menu features a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. We had the pleasure of trying the California roll, the spicy tuna roll, and the lettuce wraps. All of the dishes were delicious and fresh. The California roll was perfectly balanced, with the avocado, cucumber, and crabmeat all working together to create a flavorful and satisfying bite. The spicy tuna roll was also very good, with the spicy tuna and avocado providing a nice contrast in textures. The lettuce wraps were a great way to start our meal, and they were filled with delicious chicken, vegetables, and a sweet and sour sauce. Overall, we had a great experience at Nova Sushi Buckhead. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi meal.
Here are some of the things we liked about Nova Sushi Buckhead:
* The food was delicious and fresh.
* The service was excellent.
* The atmosphere was inviting.
* The prices were reasonable.
We had a great experience at Nova Sushi Buckhead. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi meal.

Me and my boyfriend went here for lunch and had a horrible experience. Everything was going great at first. The food was good, service was decent, and it wasn’t very busy. When the waitress brought out our bill my boyfriend paid for it and left a tip. We continued to sit and talk since it wasn’t so busy we didn’t feel the need to rush. After a few minutes the waitress came and took the signed receipt with the tip on it. (Usually I hate when waiters do this but I didn’t think much of it at the time). A few minutes later she returned and asked if her service wasn’t good. We both told her that her service was good. She then took the receipt and told my boyfriend she needed more of a tip if her service was good. She told us how much she felt like she deserved. We were speechless. I have never had anyone complain about their tip and ask for more money. We are not obligated to leave any tip at all and my boyfriend left a decent amount for what we ordered. This left such a bad taste in our mouths. We will never go back again.

The food was typical of an Asian restaurant but with a bigger bill. Iwas not impressed. My sons liked the beer.

I really enjoyed my time here. I came for lunch and it wasn’t too crowded so I was seated immediately. I ordered the lychee martini and a sake. They were both quite delicious. I liked the presentation of them as well. They were a perfect blend of strong and sweet. There is something about a perfectly garnished drink that does it for me lol. I ordered the edamame which I liked. I also ordered I think it was the fish tempura which was tasty as well. Then I ordered 3 different sushi rolls and each one came out after I was finished with the one prior. I typically opt for the cooked sushi rolls. I saw a few bad reviews not sure what they ordered but the rolls are definitely the way to go. I would definitely return to try some other rolls and maybe the sashimi too! Thanks for a great lunch! I am SOOO excited I found this place! As someone who loves sushi rolls and has to follow a low carb diet due to health issues, I either eat it and deal with the consequences or go without. Today I really wanted some and decided to deal with whatever happens later. Nova gives the option of having the rolls wrapped in cucumber instead of rice! Of course for an additional price per roll but who cares! It was well worth the up-charge! And it was DEEEELISH!

SO GOOD!!! best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had- can’t tell you why but it had something special going on! They have a wide variety of sushi as well as other options allowing everyone to chose something they will enjoy.

Found this place once I arrived in Atlanta. We chose it based on the distance from our hotel and were really happy with the food and service! Loved doing the sake bomb!

I went in and let my server know that I was allergic to wheat and had celiac disease right away. I ordered a typical sushi lunch box and kept confirming that stuff was gluten free. My salad came, I asked about it, it was taken away for containing soy sauce (wheat). I swapped it for a seaweed salad which they said was gluten free and I took a few bites of it and they came back with the box showing my friend - NOT me - that it contained wheat. So that was taken away as well. I had already eaten some, so I will be sick later. My sushi came and I asked about the spicy tuna and they said that also contains wheat. No manager ever came to speak to me, I was charged fully for the rolls and for the sushi lunch box even though I couldn’t eat the salad portion. I’m upset by this experience and the way that the issues weren’t even acknowledged. This sushi spot was recommended on a gluten-free forum as a safe spot to eat and I’m super sad that I had such a bad experience. The food was good but not safe for someone like me.

The sashimi is fresh and wonderful. I cannot recommend the house sake enough. Between the decor and the service provided the only thing to balk about is the price. The price reflects well on the quality and service provided, but it will leave you with far less than you came in with. If you're willing to pay the price for premium quality fish it's five stars, but it's not a place the average person can eat at with any regularity.

Been coming to Nova since it opened years ago.
Best sushi, highly varied menu, Danny and Erica are awesome (so is everyone else). Go and it will quickly become one of your favorite spots.
Inside tip:
The lunch specials are a big draw, so get there at 11:30 am or wait until after 1:30pm to avoid the rush.

This is our go-to lunch place after church nearby on Sundays. Truthfully, you will get better sushi and Japanese food elsewhere, but it's definitely above average, the portion sizes are generous, and the customer service is amazing. Everyone is always very warm and welcoming when we stop by. The last time we went it was the World Cup finals. Everyone (diners and servers) was glued to the screen watching Argentina beat France on penalties! A great shared experience.

I don't know whats wrong with those who say bad things about this place, but this is ONE OF MY favorite sushi places, BY FAR! I've eaten a lot of sushi around the world, and this has to be the best value for money place I've been to!
Must try the Maki Combo: It gives you three rolls to choose from, and you can stack up a lot of specialty rolls like the Crunchy King Crab roll and the Caterpillar roll. A nice choice of three rolls for just $22.
This place has to be my go to place for sushi cravings!

We love this place but learned tonight that the reason we love it is the amazing bartender who always waits on us. She was on vacation and the staff at the register for a pick up order was soooo rude and unfriendly. We will probably never go back. They could have cared less of we were there or not. Very disappointing. Half of going somewhere whether pick up or not is the experience and how u r treated. Hopefully, they will read this and make note!

I was told my order was ready on UberEATS and when I arrived I was told just a minute. It was 30. The server was very rude to the people in front of me also waiting and food wasn't even good. The friends rice had no flavor just boiled rice in oil smh.

Very poor service. Half of the table waited over an hour to get their food. The resturaunt only had a couple of people dining and yet it felt that we were being ignored. Sushi was average but overpriced.

As we live in Midtown Atlanta, we always try to support the local restaurants first, we heard good reviews of this place so we decided to go on a Sunday night but I am surprised with all the positive reviews as we did not have a good experience. The food was bad we had sushi, they put sauce on everything, the spicy tuna roll was mashed which was odd, the spider roll though large the crab tasted old and the roll had lettuce in it which is a first for me, the salmon skin roll was so over cooked which made the salmon skin dry and very fishy, Eel roll was nice and the last was the Alaskan roll chunks of fish and lettuce. We also had the Thai Calamari which came out in triangles that is a first and no dipping sauce a bit chewy. we will not go back again, If you are going to serve sushi it needs to be very fresh and you need to take time making it not rushing it out the door. The food also upset my stomach that night. There are to many other good places to eat.

**VERY STRONG CHLORINE/BLEACH TASTE TO FISH**
Came in for lunch with some colleagues. Started off with some hot and sour soup which was probably not the move at a Sushi spot haha. It was on the sweeter side so I did not particularly enjoy it. No hot and no sour. For my main, I ordered the sashimi platter…The fish had a distinct and VERY strong “chlorinated” flavor. Not exactly fresh. Their yum yum sauce tasted like a creamy vinegar? Did not live up to its name. Just a complete and total miss for me. Beautiful presentation but it stops there. I will not be returning.

Great service! Very fast! I had my food in less than 10 min of sitting down! Food was good. I had fried shrimp in my roll and it wasn’t warm and my water tasted like tapwater. That’s the only reason it doesn’t get five stars from me but it was a good experience
