Came by to have lunch on my birthday with my husband. It was a Tuesday and wasn’t busy at all. The avocado sushi was good and had hibachi with chicken, shrimp and veggies The taste was good and was very filling. The hibachi experience was good and we had a good time coming for the first time.

The floors throughout the restaurant are sticky and disgusting. Please do a deep cleaning. Our table was also sticky.
Unfortunately our server lost our food ticket order and the kitchen never received our order. At least 3 other tables that arrived after us were served and finished eating before our party's food hit the grill.
A friend and I ordered sushi (delicious) and finished an hour before everyone else. The soup, normally a favorite, was a unanimous fail on a party of 8.

The sushi chef made this place, I got a nigiri platter but for $36, found out no soup, no salad, nor rice. I would rate the place higher if not for price. They seemed to want to nickel and dime customers and there are many other options nearby, one across the parking lot. Maybe other menu items are more reasonably priced, I don't know. If they made it explicitly clear that this selection included no other items, I could have made an informed menu decision. They did bring me a bowl of rice at no charge and overall a good dining experience.

Loved my experience here at Ichiban. I had two rolls: Tuna and Epiphany which were sooooo good. They are very generous with the fish portions and it is so fresh! Forgot to take a pic but we also had the firecracker shrimp. So delicious. Service was great - very attentive and kind. Will definitely be coming back here again! :)

This place gives Benihana’s a run for their money. First let me say that it was one of the BEST amaretto sours I’ve ever had and they didn’t even know how to make it! Our chef was funny and amazing! Our table was kinda quiet though except me me and babe. The service was excellent and no long wait for a table. The food was delicious too!

You go to hibachi for some entertainment by the chef. This is the second time going here with very bad experience. The chef only said one word 'hello' cook our food and left... he may have said bye. So 2 words. Big oops! I'll never go back here again. For party of 5 or more there is 22% tip for NO hibachi experience. If u share a dish there is $9 charge for soup/salad. I'm not sure why they don't charge some to sit down at the table and call it a table charge.

I never expected to write such a bad review but this was genuinely the worst experience ever.
My 5 friends and I went there for Homecoming and first off the food takes a while to come and second off it is so bad (I got Udon Noodles, the soup was really salty but the battered shrimp and eggplant it came with was so unseasoned and bland) 👎.
The real kicker was my two friends who were splitting Udon Noodles found a hair in their soup - ew! Luckily they hadn't eaten it yet so they got it switched out. They showed the waiter and after much reluctance he brings them a new bowl, they start eating a bite 🤢🤢.
And then even worse, they find an eyelash in it 🤮! So they stop of course and call the waiter. Since it was time for us to almost go for the actual dance and also the food didn't seem so trustworthy anymore, we asked to not be charged for those noodles since they didn't actually get to eat. He says its not possible and after a lot of back and forth (spanning for 30ish minutes) he finally says they can give a 10% discount at most.
We have pretty much no choice but to agree since we have to go soon but thennn, we get our bills back and they don't even put the 10% on the Udon Noodles they ordered but on our other friend's bill since she ordered the cheapest meal. Of course, we're mad and it takes another 20 minutes to get that situation worked out so it actually is put on the right bill! Soooo, it was pretty bad and we still had to give the automatic tip for all large parties!
So, the food's bad! The service is bad! The amount of time we had to spend in there was pretty bad!

really nasty place. found a hair in the udon, after they remade it there was an eyelash in the second udon they made. they wouldn’t give us a refund and only gave a 10% discount, which is 1.30. The tip was 900% (around $11) of the discount. the service in general was poor too — we had to to raise our hand for 8 minutes before someone noticed and servers were walking close by as well. food was subpar. rude servers. bad experience.

Outstanding establishment and one of my favorite places when I visit. This experience was no exception, the atmosphere is fun and the chef's never disappoint with there entertainment and cooking ability. Food was delicious - seared dumpings to start followed by Filet and Scallops on the Hibachi.
Service is always fantastic and this was again no exception, Mary my server was awesome and I enjoyed a very long and delightful chat following my meal being paid for by a friendly family of 5. Super evening out, entertainment by the kids of the family and ending with chatting with Mary
5 stars - till my next visit

Food is very good and the service is good. My only complaint on a check for 3 people was the 22% tip was already included on the bill. 15% if good service. 18% is for better than good and 20% is for excellent all around. 22% with no option is excessive.

We have been coming here for years. I’d say probably over 20 times for many special occasions. Tonight we were celebrating an early Mother’s Day celebration. Reservation was at 6, we were seated at 6:25. That didn’t bother me at all. That happens. Our server was nice. The hibachi chef basically just cooked the food. No engagement whatsoever. They brought out the soup which I love however two of our guests have celiac and started eating the soup until they were told there was gluten in the soup and they got it by mistake. The floors and hibachi table were extremely sticky as well. It was a rough night but it wasn’t the worst part of our evening. At 7:20 while my son was still eating his dessert, the manager told us we needed to leave because he had a reservation waiting for our table. Now don’t forget that we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. That means we hadn’t even been there for an hour. We were just about to leave anyway, we were waiting for 2 people to come back from the bathroom. How dare you ask us to leave because you sat us later than our reservation time and you were overbooked. We will not be coming back. I know the restaurant doesn’t care about this because they don’t respond to poor reviews. Feedback: clean your restaurant, serve safe food, train your chefs to be engaging and be on time with your reservations.

I came upon an invitation after the meeting. I had prejudices. Since we were crowded, I wanted to keep up with the crowd. I wanted steak and shrimp as an order. The calamari arrived before the meal. The chef's show was incredible. We watched it with great pleasure with all my friends. I have never eaten such sumptuous and delicious food before. That's why my score is 5/5. I'm going to eat fried ice cream soon. I'm sure the dessert is delicious too.☺️☺️☺️

I ordered for pickup and it was the worst hibachi I have ever had. It was 37 dollars which I would not have minded if it was good quality. The filet had a weird taste to it and was not seasoned just saturated in oil and the fried rice was not fully cooked. When I called to let them know they said thank you for letting us know.

Worst experience I have had in a while at a restaurant. Waited over an hour for a to go order. Then got home and the order was completely wrong. Drove back 30 minutes and had to wait another 40 minutes for the order to get made correctly. Requested a refund for all the head ache and was told no but was offered a free appetizer instead. This is a joke of restaurant run by managers who don’t understand customer service at all. Choose any other restaurant.

My recent visit had its highs and lows. The positive aspects include prompt seating for my reservation, a pleasant dining companion, and attentive serving staff. The NY strip and chicken hibachi, priced at $30, seemed reasonable compared to other establishments.
However, the sushi experience was a letdown. The spicy tuna roll was not what I expected – tuna drowned in buffalo hot sauce and mayo. I returned it and opted not to pay. Disappointingly, my partner's Pokemon roll featured the same unappetizing spicy tuna.
While the atmosphere and non-sushi dishes were enjoyable, the overall value didn't match the cost. Regrettably, due to the unsatisfactory sushi and overall experience, we won't be returning.

Even with reservations we had to wait, standing up as there is no place to sit in entry, for about 20 minutes. Very noisy, no entertaining showmanship from hibachi chef, slow beverage service, food average - not worth the money spent. The salmon sushimi was very good! Won't be back.

The front of house manager was extremely rude. She forced us (a party of 8 adults who had made reservations on 1/4 to eat on 1/20) to sit next to a family with small, loud children in a configuration where most of us couldn’t see or hear each other because we were all in a line, instead of seating us around the other side with two corners close together, where we could all see and hear each other.
The manager initially lied, and said that the reason for giving us such poor seating was because we’d supposedly only reserved that morning. However, the person in our party who made the reservation tried showing her the confirmation from 1/4 (we went 1/20), and she said that wasn’t the real reason anyway, and refused to put us in a better seating location where we could talk to each other. Instead she seated other people who came in later in the spot we requested. They were a smaller group to boot, who would have been more comfortable in our seats than we were as a result.
The food was fine. Definitely overpriced, particularly with the $3 upcharge for fried rice over steamed, but not bad. The salad was too cold to comfortably eat when it arrived, suggesting they perhaps freeze it prior to service. The chef performed competently, and put on a little show as usual. He and our very polite table side server were firmly the best parts of the experience.
The steak and chicken were appropriately seasoned and cooked. The chicken had more gristle than I would have liked, but it was still fine, mostly nice and juicy. The veggies were nicely browned. They were out of the beer I ordered (Ichiban), which was disappointing since we came in right when they opened for the day (5 PM).
The location where we were sitting was absolutely freezing the entire time. Cold air was blowing directly on me, something that exacerbated the awful seating arrangement.
As a fun bonus, an ant crawled onto my plate shortly after I sat down. Given that it’s January, it seems unlikely to have come in from the outside, which tells me there’s probably a small colony somewhere in the walls.
I went here only because it was my best friend’s birthday just before she was leaving town, and this was one of her favorites. Needless to say, without that motivation, and given the awful manager, I cannot imagine returning. There are plenty of other hibachi places that won’t be so rude and will honor reservations.

Very good hibachi food. Had great experience at lunch but arrived for a 730pm reservation and wasnt seated til 820 and then chef didnt appear til almost 9. What bothered me is that there was no communication from the hostess or other staff, had to keep asking questions and they werent honest or open.We found way into the process that a table was broken and they were way behind and that we were going to have a delay no matter what. That is not treating your customers with respect.

Service was so bad we started eating 1 hour and 40 mins after we got there Chicken was dry and overcooked honestly the fried rice carried the whole meal the white rice took so long and they barely gave us anything had to send it back so they could give us more. Great tepanyaki restaurant. You can sit at the grill and watch them do all the master chef tricks or you can sit at a table for a more private dining experience and still get food from the grill. We got the lobster, shrimp and scallops from the grill with fried rice. It was cooked to perfection and I was surprised actually. The shrimp was caramelized, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the lobster was not dried out. We also ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura as a starter. They have a drink called a black night that was fantastic. It's like a blackberry old fashioned. The service and atmosphere was great. Overall nice experience.

My family and I like hibachi so much so we always try different hibachi restaurant around Georgia. This time we got to tried Ichiban in Alpharetta and it was perfect. Never seen my parents and other family members enjoyed their hibachi meals this much and we love our hibachi chef Freddy, he’s the best chef overall!! Would love to come back soon to bring my family again and hoping to get the same chef again.

Went for a hibachi lunch here recently with coworkers. Food was quite tasty and watching the hibachi chef is always fun. The chef even noticed that I had picked out all the broccoli he served me and said I should've told him earlier and he would've given me some other veggie instead. I did eat the zucchini and onions. Alongwith the soup, chicken and rice it made for a filling meal. Atmosphere is industrial chic and pricing is very reasonable for the windward corridor. Only gripe is that if you are not a beef or seafood eater or you are strict vegetarian, the chef does use the same utensils to grill everything for everyone seated at the table on the same grill. So if you are particular remember to tell in advance.

Went to this place and was tuned up to eat hibachi. Well I was wrong!! When we arrived we was placed at the bar because there was a wait. While waiting we noticed a Caucasian family arrived and the older Asian man sat them down before us then came and ask us to go sit at the table with them. That was discrimination and a very racist move. Then, the cook arrived at table and he asked a little kid would they like to learn how to cook with the same utensils he used to cook our food. He was trying to teach them how to cook hibachi but, it completely went left. The child was coughing the whole time and place her hands all over the cooking utensils and the part that picks up the food. Those same utensils was not sterilized afterwards. He proceeded to cook everyone’s food . Then the restaurant allowed the table beside me to bring a big dog inside the place to sit where the chef cooked the food. That’s nasty to have a big dog beside you shedding hair and fleas while your eating at a nice restaurant. Will not be going back to the windward location. Very disappointed!!

I'm not one to post negative comments or reviews, but this place gave us the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, so they've been awarded my first negative review- congratulations Ichiban! We've never eaten here, so we were excited to have our family join us and celebrate our daughter's birthday. The owner or manager was incredibly rude from the second we walked in the door. There seemed to be this annoyance or tension toward us from the get-go. We were told upon seating that we had 1 hour. We asked if we could wait for the other half of our party to eat (we had eaten and finished before the other half at the adjacent table even had a chef come), but we were told we had to give up our table (I guess we exceeded our 1-hour time limit?). Because we couldn't wait, I asked for the birthday cake back so we could just take it home and celebrate there, but when that poor unicorn cake was returned it was in rough shape. All of this to say, I have never been made to feel like such an inconvenience and unwelcome in my life, and I have no idea why. I will never be returning, nor would I recommend this place to anyone especially for a celebration, but if you do choose to eat here, I hope you aren't treated as poorly as we were.

Just left. We should have turned around when we noticed that we were the only ones in the restaurant, but my husband insisted we stay. I asked the server if this was normal and she said no, it may have been the good weather today.
The server was pleasant. The fried rice flavorful. It was downhill after that.
Our chef used the same spatula to stir our raw chicken, raw steak and vegetables - going back and forth between the three. We asked why he used the same utensils on everything given the risk of cross contamination, and he replied that the spatula got hot enough to eliminate the risk. Wow.

We’ve been here several times, but our experience this evening was pretty rough. We clearly had a new server - which is fine, but if someone is struggling, management should step in. We waited over 50 minutes for our drinks and had to approach staff twice to receive them. Our family of four ordered two sushi rolls and two hibachi dinners, but were charged a $9 sharing fee. We were never notified of this charge nor is it listed on their menu. When I asked about this and asked for my money back, they documented a shady “credit” of $9 in some random notebook. Will most definitely not return.

We are here for my son’s graduation dinner and the experience has been ruined. I have actually had to go to the bar 2 times because no one has shown up to even see if we needed refills on water. My family and I will not be returning and in my opinion you are crazy if you decide to visit.

Been eating here for years. Previously great service and great food. However, I’m not sure if it’s new management or just a horrible host, but they would not let us choose our seats, and forcibly moved our children’s chairs with our kids in them even when we asked them not to. Normally we go with friends and sit adults on one side and kids on the other and have a wonderful time, however, they insisted it be adult child, adult child around the table & were quite rude about it.

Wow. Where do I start? In a word, TERRIBLE. Got there at 5:45, left at 8:30! Waited almost two hours to eat. The waitress quit after taking our order. The chef came out and cooked super quickly with no interaction. No jokes, no flipping food into our mouths, no nothing! Why pay for high priced hibachi?? The food was just ok. The fried rice had no hamburger, no pepper, no sesame seeds. In the 20 or so hibachi experiences I've had, these are the staples of fried rice. The yum yum sauce was bland and flavorless. I nursed a beer for the entire time saving a hot last swallow to prevent me from choking down my hastily cooked steak. After finishing and waiting again, it became apparent that nobody was coming to our aid. We grabbed our own take out boxes and finished up. We then stood behind our chairs with credit cards out and stared at the staff forever. My wife had finally had enough and went and pleaded with a random staff member. Finally, someone came over and tried to figure out the bill which was not in any particular order. I tried to use a gift card we had been saving for this "special occasion". They couldn't swipe a freaking VISA gift card because it didn't have a chip! I resorted to using my debit card which I was not wanting to do. However, getting out of there was the highlight of the night. What a train wreck of a restaurant experience.
I'm not trying to be mean, it is only the truth. I can't afford to eat out often anymore and when a restaurant charges a premium and doesn't deliver, it is like being robbed. At least we didn't get food poisoning.

After 15 plus years of continuous customer loyalty, today was an embarrassment!
Took my boy and his best friend to celebrate their 10 year birthday, along with 5 adults (family & friends). We were sat with a family of 4, with two smaller children.
Our chef arrived appearing intoxicated. He proceeded to pour yum yum sauce ALL over the table. When he discovered the two boys birthdays, he poured (what I only imagine was lighter fluid) all onto their plates and set them on fire. This was ‘cool’ until the boys couldn’t get the fire out.
He then squirted water ALL over the boys to the pointed where one of them finally yelled at him to stop!
Meanwhile, burning the vegetables and overloading the rice with salt and pepper. He then cooked the chicken, which remained on the grill for the next 40 minutes! The filets were on the grill for 20+ minutes before he even asked us the desired temperature. When he asked the woman from the other family, she requested “well done”….he commented that only “white women” ask for that. (She was not.) The other family also requested that the chicken be plain and to not have any sauce on it for the younger kids. The chef informed the parents that “this was hibachi and that they only cooked food one way!”
At this point, I spoke with the manager on my way back from the restroom, to which she apologized. Another member from our party spoke with the manager, as did the father from the other family.
At the end of the night, all we got was an apology and a $300+ bill for food that wasn’t edible and the most uncomfortable and awkward situation!
We drive from Woodstock and for my son to personally request this for his birthday is a big deal. I can assure you that THIS was not what he had in mind for his birthday celebration!

Definitely not the place it used to be. I know it's changed hands at least once since George owned it. It's just not the Ichibans it used to be. Food was okay but Hibachi chef was sloppy, mixed up everything together on the grill, Made a few off color jokes and was down right argumentative with guests. Not the Ichibans we've been used to going to for 18 years. Won't be back... we'll find a new place.

The food is always good. One thing I like about hibachi, we tend to meet new people every time.

We have been coming to this location for years and last night (Valentine’s Day) was some of the worst service we’ve ever experienced. The waitress was completely overwhelmed and incompetent, tables waited 30 minutes + for water, the food took SO long, we saw our waitress a total of 3 times and we were there for nearly 2 hours. It was embarrassing seeing people excited for a nice Valentine’s Day date to just be completely neglected. They were busy but not nearly busy enough for the horrible service we and everyone else received. We will be getting take out from here from now on… super disappointing night.

Worst fried rice we ever had! The other food was ok. But the fried rice was old and gross.

Excellent food and quality. Very good service. We did Hibachi and felt we paid a fair price for what we got. Can’t go wrong with these guys

I was at Ichban this past Friday with my kids . At the hibachi table next to me, I witnessed an employee (waiter) getting very irate and using profanity towards a woman infront of her children for no apparent reason. The woman seemed frightened and embarrassed at the way she was being treated and spoken to. She immediately told her children to exit the restaurant and went directly to management to ask why the behavior from waiter was acceptable. The Manager would only apologize to this frighted lady and would not correct the behavior of this employee. I was so scared and my children were so uncomfortable witnessing this situation I was looking to see where the nearest exit was incase the situation got escalated. About ten minutes later a police officer entered the building to speak with agitated waiter and manager to access the situation. The manager didn’t send employee home for unacceptable behavior. I believe the young lady called the police to get some type of resolution and I was appalled that after things calmed down employee still remained in restaurant to serve other guest. Not only was this an uncomfortable experience, I will never bring my children here again.

Extremely disappointing. The customer service from our waitress was beyond awkward. Made us uncomfortable. She didn’t even introduce herself. Whole time was so cringe. The food is so expensive and average at most. $28 for steak hibachi??? Sushi is poorly constructed and just ok, hibachi lacks flavor it should have. The water tasted like armpits. We definitely won’t be going back, what an awful way to spend an evening.

We were seated right away. It was 1 1/2 hrs before closing time we had no reservations there was a long wait for the chef's too arrive but the manager was very apologetic and sent over free appetizers while we waited. Great service and gooood food

We have gone there for years. We were happy. Not anymore. Their lunch management is terrible. The last manager was rude. The new manager seems to be out for $$$$. All of a sudden we are being charged for extra salad dressing. Little tiny container! What happened to taking care of good customers? We are there a lot for hibachi and full lunches. Not anymore.

They have to improve the service, it is not that good and super slow. Beside that I found the food ok or good but nothing to be crazy about.

This is not what we expect for a hibachi dinner… the staff didn’t seem to care about service, drinks were empty most the meal and our server was never to be seen. The food was all VERY bland and they put canned corn in their rice, why?!?! It would be better if it were at least fresh, but even with the canned corn it was still flavorless. The chef wasn’t very into the experience either…. While my family with older kids don’t expect a lot, the fact that he literally didn’t talk to us except to confirm how we wanted our steaks cooked was super disappointing. Won’t be coming back to this location.

Great hibachi spot. The sushi is really good. They turn the tables over quickly when there is a multiple parties waiting. They do take reservations. Great management 👏🏽

Fireball!!!
Love Chef Fireball! He always keep the kids engaged through the cooking portion of hibachi. From fire displays to egg spinning to shrimp catching, it's always fun an entertaining.
The food is very good also. At hibachi, wife and I usually get share plate with filet, chicken and shrimp, fried rice and the salad and soup. Occasionally, I'll do sushi instead of soup and salad - also very good.
Our family's go-to hibachi/Japanese restaurant in the area.

Decent meal with colleagues. Chef was great, service was mediocre at best. Large serving of rice, but always disappointed with protein portions. Asked for medium rare and get served medium well- well.

Best hibachi option in the area. We have tried them all and the food tastes consistently better here. I do think the hibachi chefs here vary in terms of the level of show they put on, but out of around 5 times we have eaten here this year all have cooked some delicious food!
