Welcome to Sushi Cafe ,your destination for fresh, authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine. Whether you’re here for a quick lunch, an elegant dinner, or a special occasion, we aim to provide an exceptional dining experience. Join us and taste the art of sushi!
Tonight my wife wanted sushi and we live close to Sushi Cafe and they were open so, we went. We both love sushi and I’ve been eating sushi since the 90’s and thoroughly enjoy it.
First thing I look for on any sushi menu is Ikura (salmon roe). Next is the Spider Roll. These are my favorites. I asked if the chef made Ikura Temaki for us but he countered with Mosago (smelt roe) and we accepted. We also ordered a Dragon Roll (shrimp tempura cucumber, cream cheese, eel, spicy shredded krab, with avocado, eel sauce and spicy mayo) , Spider Roll (soft shell crab, cucumber avocado mosago and eel sauce) , Mango Roll (shrimp tempura, krab, cream cheese, topped with mango coconut flakes and mango sauce glaze), Jaguar roll (a tempura roll consisting of eel, avocado and cream cheese topped with eel sauce), and a Tomago Nigiri (sweetened scrambled egg omelette style sliced over rice), and tuna roll (tuna nori which is just rice, tuna, and nori wrap). They also served us miso soup and a sweet cake for dessert.
The first served was the Miso Soup which was wonderful with fresh white mushroom slices and green onions. It was tasty and warm.
First roll served was the Mosago hand roll with rice. Very simple and very nice. The focus was on the roe which is a good start for a salty pallet introduction and an excellent entry point to our meal. Next was the Green Dragon. This is the most expensive roll they have but well worth it (see pics). The portion is generous, the pieces are large without being oversized and the flavors are delicious. Next was the Spider Roll which was delicious and savory with the soft shell crab being the star of the show, which was served with the tuna nori (a wonderful roll focusing solely on the red meat of the tuna which was succulent and juicy in the best ways), and the Tomago (sweetened scrambled egg omelette slice which made me wish I’d doubled my order and was the sleeper hit of the evening).
Simultaneously we were served the Mango, the Jaguar, and the other Tomago. The Mango was sweet, reminiscent of coconut shrimp, and the sweetness of the mango paired well with the saltiness of the shrimp and earthiness of the rice. The Jaguar was crispy and savory and the eel sauce was an excellent compliment. And my wife says her Tomago was delicious, sweet, and tasty as well.
Lastly we had sweet cakes with strawberry frosting for dessert.
The staff was really just two people: the chef who seemed to prefer his artistry be observed on the plate as he hid himself under a black baseball cap which allowed him to focus on his creations. He clearly takes pride in his work because though it seems he almost never looks up, he has astute observation of the entire restaurant and yet still crafts such beauty. And the server, a girl whose charm and enthusiasm add to the atmosphere nicely. She paid attention to all three tables, each booth holding one couple, a young couple on a date (they are anime fans and were an adorable interracial couple), an older married couple (he was bald and his shorts and polo say he enjoys German cars while his wife enjoys her home) and us (40’s, round, quiet, interracial couple).
We went into this small restaurant to enjoy a good meal and were treated to a wonderful meal accompanied by a visual display of humanity and people watching. We will return. If you’re in the area and hungry, you should too.

I was absolutely terrified when I heard the place got new owners, cause Sushi cafe's been my go to sushi spot for a while and I didn't want it to be another restaurant that gets new owners and everything gets worse. I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG..!! I still cannot even fathom how they made everything look and taste better than it already did before it's actually wild. Prices are a little higher and I do really miss the pick 5 rolls deal, but a major improvement everywhere else!! Still one of my go to restaurants!

UPDATE AT BOTTOM
My husband and I had eaten here, and it was once one of our favorite sushi places. Unfortunately, we aren't sure if we will be back after tonight. We walked in and saw they had remodeled the place and redone the menu and pricing. We are now thinking it has new owners. We were greeted by a lovely lady who sat us down. Everything was fine, and we placed our order. We got two rolls and requested a side of eel sauce, spicy mayo, and a hibachi shrimp plate to share because we were not too hungry. We received our sushi from a gentleman a few minutes later.
We waited for our sauces, thinking they might be busy. After around 10 minutes of waiting, I had to flag down the lady who initially served us. She quickly got our sauces and left without saying anything. Then, a few minutes later, the gentleman dropped off our hibachi dinner. I knew something was wrong because he had given us two plates, one with the meal and one with just vegetables. The shrimp was burnt and very salty, sitting in a broth from the veggies. We were also given brown rice and noodles, which I thought came with one or the other. We were given no soup or salad either. While the plate with just veggies was sitting in the same broth to the point it was leaking off the plate. We were given only two napkins, so we had to make due. I tried to ask for more, but no one checked up on us, nor did they look our way. After eating the food, we stacked our plates, waiting around 25 minutes for the bill. After no one checked in on us, the food, or a refill for our drinks, My husband had to raise his hand to get the waitress to get our bill. This meal was not a justified 40-dollar meal; I would have probably saved the money. Another note I would like to add, just in case the owners see this, is that two young ladies were leaving as we were sitting, and their dirty dishes were collecting flies and were never cleaned up even after we left. This place was not that busy, with only a few tables. I am very disappointed with tonight's meal.
UPDATE: The same lady who attended us that night gave my husband a full refund for our meal when she didn't have to. We appreciate that. They also gave us their heartfelt apologies, and I thank them for that.

Came here for their lunch special and it was great! 3 rolls and soup for 13.95 was a steal alongside great service. Would recommend any of the rolls I got which were spicy tuna roll, spicy yellowtail roll, and Mexican roll. Will definitely be back!

New Owners!!
I only returned because I read this place had new owners .
100% improvement , from lighting , cleanliness . The lighter colors make a big difference
I feel like the fish is better quality or better kept than before . Even the way it was cut was way better .
The server and service were great! 😍.
Sushi is something an owner and staff need to have pride over . Hope you guys keep it up .

I have been going here for years. Now it was bought by a new owner. The Sushi was okk . They need to work on their rice, it had no flavor. Also, Not sure about there new price either, we love there 5 for $25. Hopefully they will keep it.
The new owners and staff were nice, friendly and place was clean.

The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The variety on the menu was impressive, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The service was quick and attentive, making the dining experience even better. I highly recommend it.

My favorite sushi spot! I get takeout here pretty often simply because the food is great and the prices are even better. Today I took my daughter here for lunch and everyone was so incredibly sweet, offering complimentary soup and even fried Oreos for dessert which made our mommy & daughter date extra special. It was so very appreciated, thank you again for your warmth and kindness!

This place was recently bought out. I used to come here before the pandemic and it was just meh... Now it is one of my favorite places. I like quality all you can eat sushi. It is pretty rare to find but this place definitely got way way better after the new owners. Been here twice in November. I will be back again for sure. My wife is way pickier when it comes to sushi and she said this is her new favorite. If I remember correctly it was $32 per person for the all you can eat menu. I should have taken pictures, but I forgot. Oh and the service was amazing!

They had a great atmosphere before the renovation, and they removed the bento box 🍱 so I am not happy with what they did to the place.

I love sushi and I hate to go someplace and be disappointed.
When I first got there and found out, it was no longer all you can eat. I was disappointed.
But they have lots of really good deals.
We ordered one Bento box which came with soup and chicken Goya, which I was so impressed because it's usually pork and I don't eat pork we ordered the vegetable tempura one
Then we ordered three roll combination the downside as you have to pick from the rules on that list the upside all of them were amazing the fish and rice to fish ratio flavor spot on.
Because we are wanting of a variety of things we also ordered a kani salad and Shrimp tempura
Their tempura is perfection and their spicy mayo is really good too
Can't wait to come back
Our whole bill was less than what we would've paid if we had all you can eat

I feel this restaurant is on its last legs. Bento is over priced for the amount of food you get. Hibachi is mediocre at best. Eat someplace else

Would not go back.
Service is cold.
No smile, dry, no personality.
Food, nothing to go back for.

Hidden Gem! This is our favorite sushi place of all time. The rolls are delicious and always consistent. The Hibachi is excellent as well. The prices are very reasonable and the service is outstanding. A fantastic, family-owned restaurant that never disappoints.

I love this place. Great atmosphere. Never busy. Great prices!!!!! Sushi is good. Best ragoons ever too.

The prices here are good, especially for lunch. I had the Hibachi Chicken and it was not bad, nothing special, but overall fine. The miso soup that came with was a bit salty for my taste. I went with my girlfriend and her shrimp tempura was bland. What bothered us the most was the service the waitress was very short with us. She told us to circle what we wanted on our menus, and didn’t seem to bother to look at more than the front page of the menu since she didn’t bring us the gyoza we ordered. All of this considered, this place advertises itself as a sushi restaurant, and so maybe we will give the sushi a try another day. However, it would most likely be for take out.

this place a true gem, hole in the wall, absolutely amazing! Food is delicious, service is amazing, and best believe I would have paid more for the experience! Unmatched and inconceivable for the quality/price ratio. I especially love the art work that the customers provide, definitely shows appreciation for customer service and appreciation for their patrons!

My favorite sushi place of all time! I’ve been eating here for years and the sushi ALWAYS hits. Perfectly. My family and I tend to get takeout and the food quality does not hinder transporting it home. I have tried a lot of different sushi places but nothing has come close to topping this place. Please support this business! The owners are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met!

2024 Review: They are still one of our favorite Sushi places in Orlando! Krab rangoons are the best! Always yummy fresh sushi too (they no longer do All You Can Eat Buffet)! Sammy is very kind!
2019 Review: Great food for the price you can get with All You Can Eat!! As long as you keep pace with what you order and eat, it is worth a try and revisit again for the love of sushi!

I would give them a 0 stars if I could. Horrible service. I just went to dine in at 8:30pm by myself, place is empty, no customers so she wasn't busy. The lady asks "is it to go" as I was sitting down at the dinner. I replied "no it's for here". The lady said "we are about to close" and I said "oh you are closing now?", she replied "no we close at 9 pm". I said oh ok, so for here please. She took out her phone and look at it annoyed as I sat down. Mind you I can understand if it was a big party. But I'm 1 person. That ain't a way to treat a customer. I got up and left, and said "nevermind, thank you". Don't waste your time, go somewhere else where they want to serve you.

We love this place. The value you get for the quality and amount of sushi is amazing. 13 dollars for three full size rolls? Can’t beat it. And it’s great food! Plus, this place is a family owned business and they are always very kind and accommodating.

Good sushi for the value but don't keep expectations too high. There is a low variety of fish options, mostly Salmon and Shrimp, and some tuna. Teriyaki Chicken appetizer was dry, rubbery, and flavorless. Only one server for the dine-in tables. Probably a good place if you need some quick take-out or delivery but not the finest of Japanese Cuisine.

I've been in Orlando for a few years now and this was my first time here. Lots of sushi options around but I was VERY happy with this restaurant! Absolutely the most inexpensive sushi I've had since moving here. I'm not sure how it wasn't super busy but the food was great, fast, inexpensive, and the service was on point. 10/10 would come back.

Overall the sushi quality wasn't bad. However the size was insanely small... the size of a finger nail almost. The rest rooms don't work properly and aren't well maintained. Staff and owner/manage aren't very welcoming. Overall there's wayyy better sushi places out there. Even the one under a mile away totally crushes this place. I'm surprised they're still around. I highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.

I had lunch at this place and it was better than I expected given the lack of business they had when me and my friend came in. As a vegan this was not a bad option to eat, they had a veggie roll and miso soup. My friend seemed satisfied with his food too. Food was good and affordable so I’ll definitely be coming back.

This is Chinese food, not Japanese food. No clue why the word sushi is in their business name. The hibachi is absolutely Chinese inspired. Truthfully it taste like takeout Chinese food. The fried dumplings are horrible, the sushi is FISHY, there’s an up charge for fried rice.
Overall, not a great place to eat. This location is dark and gloomy. Very reminiscent of a Chinese food restaurant. After eating there twice in one week I have to say that this is absolutely not a Japanese restaurant. It is a Chinese food restaurants that offers sushi.
If you are craving Japanese food, I would go anywhere but here.

I always order from here, but never seem to have left to review. I moved up here to Orlando about three years ago and has a huge sushi love her. It was hard for me to steer away from publix sushi. But I stumbled on this little restaurant and fell in love with not just a sushi, but my favorite all-time order the shrimp noodles. Every time I go there and make sure that I get at least two.
I also love the dancing eel sushi. If you’re looking for a nice quiet, sushi location, I would suggest coming here.

I’ve come here since they were an “all you can eat” restaurant. They have the best krab Rangoon I’ve ever had, and they make it in house, from scratch. As well as their “hot noodles”. All the fish is insanely high quality. You could go somewhere 3x the price and not have fish as good as what they get here.

Fantastic food like always! They have quite a few items if you're not into sushi. Personally recommend the getting the hibachi steak (stir fry vegetables and steak), it comes with a side of soup and steamed rice- a really full meal!
Visited 2 years ago
Server was rude, i asked for minor changes to my order and she didnt even take into any consideration and just said no completely. Hibachi looks like canned dog food and tastes like it as well. Please never order the steak hibachi as you can see in my photo. The only positive is their beer is priced at $3.50 a bottle. Disgusting food and terrible service. Paid $43 for dog food.

We enjoyed the edamame and the California rolls. The fried rice was lacking but edible. The chicken teriyaki skewers were fatty and deep fried. There was no teriyaki sauce at all! GROSS!!! I asked to send them back and for a refund. The owner refused and would only refund 1/2 the cost even though only one bite had been eaten. Pathetic! The owner sent the young waitress to speak to me and would not come out to make things right with an unhappy customer. We will not go back! There are better places to spend my money.

I was going to have a dinner night with my wife there. I called to see if they still do all you can eat sushi. The lady that answer the phone and rushed me off and hanged up the phone without me saying another word. Real bad customer service and I was going to go regardless if she said no but, that was very unprofessional and will never go at all again. I been there before and the food is decent but, with that type of service forget about it. It is sad because it is literally behind my apartment that I can easily just walk there and grab whatever type of sushi I want. Instead I rather drive and go somewhere else with the simple phone call I made for her to just rush me off the phone with an attitude.

A family owned and run sushi joint. They have great deals on rolls and everything is fairly priced.

I’ll start off with yes, the all you can eat sushi is gone but the prices are still super cheap compared to other sushi places. When I was there it was not busy at all which is kinda sad. Please support small businesses that are trying to get thru these times. I had a wonderful time with my coworkers here. ☺️

Stopped for some sushi, which I generally enjoy. To my disappointment the rolls I had didn't taste fresh. I had the Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Salmon Crunch Roll. Both left a lot to be desired. Top it off customer service is poor. Didn't feel welcomed. 3 stars given as the price wasn't too bad and the House Sake was pretty good.

I cant stress enough how much I love this store. I recently moved to the area and its been a go-to for cheap but healthy, amazing meals. the fish is always fresh and marbled, its so cheap for more than i can finish, and the servers are always sweet. It closes a little early compared to restaurants in the area which sucks, but thats barely a complaint they can do anything about. will always come back.

Absolutely delicious! Food came out super fast so if you're starving like I was, it's the place to go!

They have expanded their menu, which is nice. The sushi is ok. This seems to be one of the only places to be able to get rolls without seafood. The fact they don't use Cucumber in all their rolls is a big factor. So basically, they do a pretty good job, although higher than 3 stars, wish there was a 3.5 star rating.

I recently moved near here and have ordered from here at least 5 times already.. The sushi is always so fresh and great tasting. I haven't tried the premium rolls but have tried a lot of their cheaper menu sushi rolls and they're amazing. I can assume the pricier ones would be amazing as well. I usually go with the 3 rolls of 8 pieces and the price is decently well valued in my. Opinion.

We were glad we stumbled upon this place. Some of the sushi rolls we ordered were really outstanding (Jaguar and Thai), the tea pot was large and the waitress kept it full. 👍
It looks like they used to have all you can eat sushi...that would have been great, but apparently not offered anymore. They DO offer a discount of purchasing 2 or 3 or 5 of any of the rolls in a large list....and there are a lot of good choices on that list....HOWEVER, be careful if you are watching your cents.....we ordered 3 rolls (which should have been $11.99), but we were charged $9.25 for 2 and $4.99 for 1 even though they were all ordered at the same time. Not sure how all that works, but we were charged $14.24 for what I was thinking should have been $11.99. I know $2.25 is not a lot, but I like to be able to read a menu and get charged as the menu reads. Now you know to pay attention... I've attached a copy of the menu, too.
The agedashi tofu was decently cooked (although just a tad undercooked) with some crunch on the outside and a creamy inside, but it was missing a topping of any sort...it was naked!! A little sprinkle of bonito flakes and a few slices of green onion would have made it an outstanding dish. Dipping sauce was fabulous.
Miso was good miso..not the best, not the worst.
I would definitely eat there again, but I would order a lot differently to get the best sushi for the buck..and I think this place has a lot of ways to get really good sushi for a great price!

The food here did not sit right with any of my party that ate here today. Unfortunate because the food was priced well & some of what we ordered was good. I felt like some of it was odd tasting but for some reason decided to keep eating it. 🤦 I don't see myself returning.

I miss the all you can eat sushi. But their deal for 5 rolls doesn't get old. Delicious food.
