Michelin starred 10 seat omakase curated by Chef Michael Collantes and operated by Michelin's Sommelier of the year Benjamin Coutts and Chef de Cuisine Kevin Abanilla.
Soseki takes traditional omakase with a mix of modern dishes to create their signature experience. Mulitple courses and a multi dining room experience with their next door sake bar Bar Kada.
Wonderful omakase that elevates Orlando dining to another level. We had an amazing time, the food is so creative, meticulously thought and prepared, Mike and staff are so full of energy and humor. A truly remarkable experience. Recommend the tea service, it was mind-blowing good.

Prepare for some of, if not the best sushi you’ve ever had in a cozy yet sleek and contemporary omakase setting. The tasting menu was beautiful and incredibly delicious, with each course presented with perfect detail and exquisite precision. We loved getting to watch the expert technique of each piece of nigiri being crafted, hearing about each ingredient and how it was selected with care, and experiencing such immense creativity and talent. I appreciated being told what utensil should be used for each dish and the intended order in which to try things. It’s clear how much they care about the experience they provide to each guest, from the moment you arrive all the way through to the end. A place like Soseki will make it very hard for you to ever want sushi anywhere else!

A truly delightful experience! Every aspect of the evening was thoughtfully prepared and intentionally designed. The food is beautiful but my favorite part was the playlist and lighting which is curated by a team member to elevate the entire dining experience.
If you are looking for a traditional Japanese omakase sushi experience this is not the place to go. If you’re a foodie that loves seasonal dishes and a symphony of textures and flavors that surprise with every course then you’re in for a treat! I’m very glad to see that Orlando restaurants are sharing dining options that were previously only accessible in LA or New York.
Added note: We had the full two hour course + sake tasting experience.

As a self-proclaimed disliker of fish I was reasonably a little skeptical about dining at an omakase restaurant, but because of my previous Michelin star dining experiences I had learned to go in with an open mind and I'm sure glad that I did because the food was amazing. When it comes to sushi, quality and preparation are key and Soseki excels at both. I walked away that night with a new appreciation for fish and I have spent every week since my visit longing to go back. It was well worth the wait, the money and the trip. Highlights for me included the sea trout, saltwater eel, and of course the aged fatty tuna.

We tried the Soseki Steppingstone omakase experience. Every bite was delicious craftsmanship by Chefs Kevin, Vanessa, Patrick, and Yedo. The fish is sourced daily straight from Japan (even the uni!). We added the sake flight, which paired wonderfully with the menu. We left satisfied but not stuffed (if you're craving more afterwards, hop over to Bar Kada for delicious drinks and elevated comfort food!).
The staff is wonderful. Their personalized service truly made us feel like we were dining with friends. Thank you to Renee, Jordan, and Abraham for your attentiveness and patience (we love Tako-san and friends). Thank you to everyone in front & back of house for making this experience possible!
We can't wait to come back next time we're in Orlando!! 😊💖

By Florida standard, well deserved one-star. And let’s leave it at that. I’ve been here twice and both times I was impressed.
This time around, the surprise was the caneles. When we told them this was the best caneles we’ve ever had, they told us it took them two weeks and over like 15 tries to get it right. Hard to get a caramelized crust crisp on the outside and moist & “chewy” on the inside.

This was a truly memorable and inspiring experience that we will never forget. Everything was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The service was top tier on all fronts. I recommend adding the wine/sake pairing package. We can see how everyone’s knowledge and dedication resulted in intricate, mind blowing flavor combinations! It was an honor dining with you and we can’t wait to come back!

Everything delicious and top notch.
We came for my husbands birthday.
Although the sushi tasting at soseki was a culinary delight, I was disappointed by the minimal acknowledgment of the birthday. While they kindly said "happy birthday," the absence of any special birthday treat or gesture felt underwhelming, particularly considering the significant investment for this experience. It would have added a memorable touch to an otherwise exceptional dining experience.

Food was outstanding, service was personalized and fantastic, atmosphere was cozy and modern. We went for our anniversary and were blown away with the omakase dinner and gift we received from them. The pricing was in the high side but the food and service did not disappoint. The food is local grown as much as possible, the dishes were mostly traditional with a touch of French desserts. The sake selection was amazing and the staff’s knowledge of the food and drinks they serve was impressive. Bring a jacket for the omakase, they keep it a little cool inside. We will definitely be back.

Don't get me wrong. The food was amazing and I honestly think we underpaid for what we received. However, the experience is what put it over the top and it wouldn't have been the same without the stunning service provided by Danny in Bar Kada prior to dinner. Renee who kept everything running smothely and just seemed to float around everywhere and may actually be one of the most friendly people i have ever met. Benjamin probably has forgotten more about wine than anyone has ever known. Get the wine and sake pairing just for the knowledge. Chef Vanessa's enthusiasm for omakase is infectious and she is going to be a star sooner than later. Chef Kevin, who will apparently be leaving soon, was a delight to watch before the meal preparing the fish for the nigri. Take the time to experience this. It will be a memory for a lifetime.

It was overpriced for what it was. We chose the cornerstone menu, with sake tasting flight, additional bottle of sake, and 3 extra nigiri pieces each. We left hungry and went to another restaurant.
There are much better options for Sushi in the Orlando area, which don’t have a michelin star. There are much better Michelin star restaurants in Orlando, that serve elevated japanese style food. The environment at soseki was cold, minimalistic, and lacking fun, and then we were rushed out into another establishment after dessert was finished.
The Aji was the best i’ve ever had, but nothing else stood out.

Our Chefs were Patrick, Kevin, and Karl. They did an outstanding job preparing the dishes for the evening. The attention to detail, the history provided regarding the dishes, and the overall flavor of the food, made for an amazing culinary experience that I am of the opinion of, is the best Orlando has to offer.
Our hosts were Shay, Josh, and Jordan. Shay was meticulous in her attention to detail pre-experience. Josh and Jordan were extremely attentive, had great personalities, and helped enhance the experience we had. Jordan even went above and beyond by handwriting a birthday card for the birthday girl we were there to celebrate, and providing a momento style gift. While everyone at the restaurant that evening was simply the best, Jordan will be someone we never forget. We highly recommend this experience for all who are open to experiencing it!

I simply don't have the words to convey what a great experience I had at Soseki. I went to the two 1* Michelin Omakase restaurants in Orlando on back-to-back nights and Soseki is by far my recommendation. Josh, Chef Mike and the entire team make you feel comfortable in their sophisticated, yet approachable, establishment. The chefs are focused on the food, but are eager to engage and discuss e.g. their blend of rice varieties, wasabi grower, etc. "Chef, but which spoon should we use?" "The spoon will choose you." The supporting staff floats in and out of your space to clear plates and wipe up your mess without needing to be asked. Josh is attentive to details in a way that makes you feel heard as a person, not just a customer. I eat only Kosher fish, and team worked with my restrictions to create a tailored menu that did not disappoint. They could have easily said, "sorry, we can't accommodate", but they rose to the challenge. When they serve dishes to each party, they quietly explain to each party what they were being served, in a way that felt personal and didn't single me out for being different.

I would give the experience at Soseki a 4.5/5. The service was impeccable; attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly: 5/5. The atmosphere was a 4.5/5 because I felt the music was a little too loud to converse with my partner at times. I give the food a 4.5/5 because it was locally and internationally sourced showcasing the wonderful and vibrant flavors of Central Florida and Japan; however, during one of the nigiri portions, my partner had a rather large fishbone that got caught in their throat. Otherwise, it was an exquisite experience, of which I commend the chefs and the staff, especially for the detailed seating arrangement I requested. This experience is worth the price of admission.

Modern omakase? Not purely Japanese, more like a chef's tasting menu. Bit rushed, there's a timer on the wall. Not many courses, incorporating some local ingredients. Two seatings: 5:30 and 8:30, seems like there are plenty of spots for the later one.

This place was truly amazing. By far the best experience at a restaurant to date. My wife found Soseki on social media I believe and we decided to go for her birthday. The people who work there are very friendly and outgoing. Their goal for the whole night seemed to be simply to provide us with the best food while also providing the best experience. If you are considering Soseki, you must go. The best sushi and experience we have ever had at a restaurant.

I have done several Omakse experiences this by far had the most variety. The fusion of Japanese cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, and inspiration from around the world made this so different from anything I have ever experienced. We added the caviar and truffles to our experience. I am a sucker for truffle anything! The truffle added to the dessert course was insane. There was so many flavors that blended so well I have never tasted anything like it before it was amazing. In addition to the amazing food the staff and service was fantastic. If you’re looking for a unique experience with delicious food definitely check this place out.

“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” What happens if God gives you a fish? You give it to Soseki.
My whole life I had fantasized of a dish so beautiful, so gorgeous, and so stunning that it would make me cry. That is exactly what happened as I began to chew the Akami at Soseki. In that moment of sheer beauty, I had occupied the exact point where heaven touched the earth. As I sat in the liminal space between Adam’s lethargic hand and God’s outstretched fingers, I wept.
The qualities of true beauty are often overlooked through their modern subversion and commoditization, but objective beauty will forever be the combination of its rareness, difficulty, and fleeting nature once felt. Although I will never be able to experience that bite again, I will always remember it.
Huge thank you to the Soseki team for their attention to all of the details that could be seen and even more so for the ones that were invisible. Also, specifically, to chef Kevin, who showed me flavors far beyond Guy Fieri’s Hot dog bread pudding.

Greater Orlando is so, so lucky to have this place within its borders. Not because everyone should eat here -it is expensive, for sure- but because Soseki shows everyone what's possible in Central Florida. Their devotion to local, to craft, to service, to performance, and to, ultimately, incredibly delicious food shines a huge spotlight on the fact that one doesn't have to be in San Francisco, New York, Miami, or L.A. to have an extraordinary dining experience.
One doesn't also have to follow the traditional paths to success either, and that might be my most favorite part of our meal here. Many things rhymed with other styles, but ultimately, what arrived on our plates time and time again was something uniquely Orlando, something that felt like the finest riff on what we see and eat all around us throughout the year.
Overall, if it's possible, I HIGHLY recommend a seat at their counter. Yet, and I am confident of this, what they do will permeate and influence dining in Orlando for decades to come, not only from what shows up on menus, but from what is grown, raised, or harvested around Central Florida. An incredible experience, and one I hope to have the fortune to taste again soon.

The Michelin-starred distinction is a testament to the exceptional quality and innovation that Soseki offers. This recognition is well-deserved and further solidifies Soseki's position as a top-tier culinary destination.
The staff at Soseki are consummate professionals, providing impeccable service with warmth and attentiveness. Their deep knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for hospitality create an atmosphere that is both inviting and refined.
For those seeking an unforgettable dining experience, Soseki Modern Omakase is worth every penny. The combination of its Michelin-star status, extraordinary food, and impeccable wine and sake selection sets the stage for a truly remarkable evening.

My wife and I spent a wonderful evening at Soseki last night. We have been fortunate to dine in some of the great restaurants in Europe and the United States. Among them a number of Michelin two star and three star restaurants. Soseki certainly belongs in this category. At a great restaurant we look for impeccable service, consistent quality throughout, innovative dishes impeccably prepared and, and most of all, at least one moment during the evening where a bite of food elevates you to a point of sublime bliss. Our dinner at Soseki had a number of those moments . The interaction with the chefs and our ability to watch them preparing the dishes up close was an additional bonus for us. We had the upgraded wine pairings, and shared one order of the caviar, which is a fresh can just for us and can be used in any manner that you’d like throughout the meal. It was wonderful. The menu was a blend of French and Japanese technique, ingredients and flavor profile which we found to be wonderful. Most items were locally sourced. This was a multi course meal. We are always concerned in such a situation that we will arrive at a point 70-80% through the meal, where we can’t take another bite,. At Soseki, we found the portions to be perfect. My wife ate every bite, as did I. She left the restaurant feeling very full. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied, but not overly so. It worked perfectly. Wine pairings were excellent and pourings were small but adequate with splashes easily forthcoming if more was needed to accompany a particular course. We would recommend an evening there to anyone. Two caveats. One, the seating is at the counter, which accommodates 10 guests only. This adds to the intimacy of the evening, and the connection between you as a diner and the preparation of the food. For the two of us it was easy to interact with each other. For a group of four or larger that is looking to socialize extensively throughout the evening, it may be that this would be more challenging. Not a big deal, just something to consider. The other is that this is not an inexpensive evening For the two of us with the upgrades the bill was about $2000 (the upgraded wine pairing, and the shared can of caviar added $800 plus tip and tax to our bill). From our experience, this is expensive no matter the venue unless you really splurge on the wine. In any event you can be guaranteed a special night that is worth the cost. Today’s Soseki will learn whether it will be awarded its second Michelin star. It certainly deserves it.

The staff running Soseki made our first Michelin-star restaurant experience amazing. The food was absolutely incredible, but hand to God, I would return for the service alone.
Chef Michael, the sommelier, and the host were courteous and professional as could be, but they were also fun! They cracked jokes here and there, the chef would answer questions about their work during service, I could go on.
We were there for my wife's birthday, before we left they gave her a birthday card and a soseki wooden pen in a nice little display box. Such a nice thing of them to do.

The food, aka artwork, is out of this world. I was looking forward to flavor and never knew how delicious “texture” could be. Every bite was an experience. The crew is perfect. Thank you guys for a cool, comfortable and delicious night. 5 Stars.

Went here for the first time about a month ago, this was truly the best meal I've ever had in my life. All the sushi was exceptional and every dish was delicious. the caviar with tuna at the bottom served with these purple rice crisps was one of my favorite dishes as well as the egg custard with shrimp and corn. Also definitely get the drink pairing as it really elevates the meal with drinks that compliment everything. At the end of the meal they give you a menu with everything you were served so you can remember the meal as they serve a different menu every day based on what ingredients are available which is very nice.

Soseki was an incredible meal & an epic experience. Their small, amazing staff is full of friendly geniuses, who made us an extraordinary meal while making us feel at home. I cannot wait to go back.

We have been to Soseki 4 times at this point and have attended each of their popup prior to them being in their existing space. The experience at Soseki in Orlando is truly unforgettable. The omakase, meaning "chef's choice," allowed us to sit back, relax and let the chefs at Soseki take the lead. They expertly curated a customized tasting menu featuring the freshest ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked.
In addition to the amazing food, Soseki also impressed me with their beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service and their dedication to using local goods from vendors here in Florida The traditional Japanese decor and serene ambiance were the perfect backdrop for the omakase experience, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend Soseki for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience that incorporates locally sourced ingredients. The combination of delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service make Soseki a must-visit for food lovers in the Orlando area. I look forward to returning and trying more of their amazing dishes.

Ten-seat Michelin one-star omakase bar with top notch service and a friendly atmosphere. The cold dishes are the highlight, with extremely high quality nigiri.

I have ate at michelin starred restaurants all around the world and I am surprised that this restaurant has a michelin star. There is no way this restaurant is comparable to a real michelin starred restaurant in a big city. Respectfully, this omakase is what you will find at a typical high end sushi restaurant in any big city. Kabooki's omakase which i have done about 6 times is exceptionally better and more fun at every turn.
My experience at soseki is that the people are nice, and the fish was high quality as expected. However, there is nothing special here, this is regular run of the mill items you will find at any high end sushi spot. They only served 4 hand made nigiri pieces that was it. The other items were produce items and other fish. There was no red meat served like in the pictures. There is no liquor, just wine and sake. The wines were good but cheap. They were mostly blends. All bottles under 50 bucks. Kabooki omakase is way better plus you have access to a full liquor bar. Besides the food, the atmosphere sucked. They played music in the background that ranged from oldies to eminem. It really took away from the ambiance and wasnt consistent with what they were trying to achieve. There was one dessert plate which was a meager sized basque cheesecake and a sorbet. Nothing was original at all. The basque cheesecake was not good at all. Nothing fit here. You dont serve a whole bunch of fish dishes and then for dessert is a lump of cheesecake....doesnt make sense. Its absurd this was awarded a michelin star. I am not complaining about the price, as I have paid over $1k per person for omakases at MASA and other spots in Miami/NYC, but paying $875 for two people for 4 handroll nigiri pieces which I can get all day everyday at Kabooki with no reservation is absurd. I give two stars and I do not knock their hustle and wish them well, but had I known it would have been like this, I would have stayed far away from this one, as other omakases in town namely kabooki are waayyy better then this. Also insult to injury they only had one dish that had black truffles (the cheaper truffles vs. white truffles) which was COMICAL, they only put a few specks of truffle in the dish!!! this is a money grab, but again I do not knock there hustle and them advertising their "michelin" star

Fantastic. Caviar dish very special

Excellent! Some of the best individual dishes I’ve ever had - like the oyster and caviar ones. I’ve been to many Michelin restaurants and the food at this one may have been the best across the board. Usually, you get some great dishes, some very good ones, and a couple that are just ok. Not at Soseki! Each dish was either great or exceptional! The quality of the ingredients and the care they take in preparing the dishes shines through. Be prepared to sit at a “sushi bar” though - with only about 10 seats in total. It is a small, but highly personalized experience that takes about 2 hours in total. The prices are high, but worth it. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I have done omakase in big cities (NYC, Boston, Chicago) & I’m happy to say this experience did NOT disappoint!!!
The hospitality, ambience, exquisite food was remarkable. We will be returning.
Cheers!

Amazing sushi! I have been fortunate to enjoy good sushi in Japan. This is modern and enriches the traditional cuisine. Fish is as fresh as it can be, perfectly seasoned. Service is impeccable. This is a marvelous dining experience! I live outside of FL. Need to find a reason to come back so I can enjoy this food again.

Most amazing dinning experience I have had

We had a superb evening here. Staff is fun, service is great, and the courses and wines are fully explained. The 5 or 6 sushi piece courses are served properly close to rom temp and the experience is balanced with the other creative non-sushi courses and desserts.

Amazing from start to finish. An experience you won't soon forget. The ambience and setting was intimate and swanky. Menu constantly changes to reflect whats in season.

No vegetarian or vegan options. Overpriced and high cork fees. They can serve what they want, but if they can’t accommodate a simple vegetarian in 2022, they get 0 stars from me. I have visited Japan and been to many fine Japanese restaurants. Almost all have accommodated a vegetarian. It shows you that this chef and restaurateur are behind the times and outdated. Time to move out !

Worth every dollar. Hands down the best omakase in town. The food is incredible and the staff was super personable, really made the experience that much better.

This is hands down my favorite eating experience in Orlando yet. Let's dive in.
This One-Star Michelin resturant truly is justified based off my somewhat recent visit. All ingredients are obtained locally, and as far as fish goes obtained from a fish market in Port orange where they get overnight deliveries from Japan. These two things alone are worth coming here for.
At a base price of $250 per person you might be wondering, is it worth it? YES! truly unimaginable flavor combinations that rotate seasonly based off availability. Boluga cavier, and A5 Wagyu are just some of the things our meal consisted of. Basically, You will eat things you simply can't get or prepared elsewhere.
I would say this is definitely worth a special occasion. If you are shy of seafood then it may not be up your alley, but that being said, if you are on the fence, this could swing you. It's a Omakase so that should be disclaimer enough of what will be served.
The staff are top notch. My hats off to every single person who was involved. Their knowledge and expertise truly shine when it comes to their craft.
We can't wait to try another rotation at another time to compare. As we are locals we are definitely blessed to watch over how this place grows.

Small intimate space, wonderful staff, they cared for our experience and even went out of their way to ensure our young daughter enjoyed the offerings. Small dishes or single bites every course. It’s chef bar style, with just 10 spots, so don’t expect a restaurant feel. The menu varies but we had a fish centric menu when we went and it was absolutely fantastic. It’s about the experience and the local products combined with specific imports. We were so happy and impressed. Just book your reservation and come ready for a beautiful experience.

Correspondence before the dinner via e-mail was NOT an option! So questions about caviar etc were not possible to pose and get answers for.

An absolutely incredible dining experience! Every course was masterfully and expertly crafted. Soseki attempts to use local ingredients with every offering, while putting a modern spin on a traditional Japanese omakase, and the food was phenomenal! The entire staff was helpful, informative, and attentive. We even received a handwritten list of the best local bars and restaurants from Chef Mike! This place certainly deserves their Michelin star, and I am sure they will keep it for many years to come.

Such an incredible experience. Everything–from the cutlery to the pottery the dishes are served on to the food and drinks themselves–was perfection. I look forward to going back in the future and to see what new things have been added. It is well worth the price and is a place I will cherish for a long time.

The thing I loved so much about Soseki is how completely approachable and unpretentious it was. They are dedicated to taking the best ingredients and serving them to you in very creative and delicious ways, in an environment that makes you feel comfortable and allows you to relax and enjoy the experience.
I would recommend Soseki to anyone and I will definitely be back

Sublime. Perfectly balanced, blended, buffered, rich and round flavors on the most incredible clouds of sashimi and steak. I felt like a was eating and drinking a symphonic purrrr. Lovely presentation, friendly and relaxed staff. Congratulations, gentlemen!!!

This was by far the best food and drinks we’ve ever had. My wife and I have been to many countries and Michelin star restaurants and this blew them all away. We would dine here a million times again!

This was an amazing experience. From the one on one interaction with the Chefs to the level of knowledge the entire staff displayed. Every bite of food was incredible. The only way you are getting fresher seafood is if it was just pulled from the water.

Soseki is one of the few Michelin star restaurants in Orlando. It offers an extravagant omakase experience. Their menu changes every season. Our favorite dish was the tuna caviar tar tar. We highly recommend them for a unique dining experience. Chefs and Staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

What an excellent dining experience from beginning to end. The food was superb and service was impeccable. The staff was very attentive and very thoughtful. They source their ingredients to find the best local and Japanese ingredients as well as keeping sustainability in mind. I will definitely come back here whenever I’m in the Orlando area. Great job! Well deserving of their Michelin Star!

Great food. Wonderful, informative staff. I learned a great deal about food, wine, and sake during this meal! Highly recommend! Expensive, but worth it if you are able to afford the steep pice.
