It was our first time here, and let me tell you, it definitely won't be our last! The service and food were amazing! Nothing but great customer service from the moment we walked in! We had the beef pad thai, the crispy duck with the curry sauce, shrimp tempura roll, and chicken satay! All so good! Would highly recommend!

Sat at the bar and just had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions...the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. We had a reservation at 6:45 pm and arrived on time, only to be offered seats at the bar. If we had wanted the bar, we wouldn't have made a reservation! They promised us the next available table, but after waiting, they gave it to someone else. Eventually, we were seated and ordered our food. It took an hour to receive a basic soup. My fiancé's meal (steak and rice) arrived well before mine, and my sushi showed up halfway through his meal. The sushi was bland and tasteless. After just two bites, we asked for the check, which came quickly but with a side of attitude. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the server simply said, "It's just busy." If you can't handle the crowd, don't seat more people. We will never return. Terrible experience—avoid this place!

This was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The menu has a lot of familiar comfort dishes but there is a lot to try and explore as well. I had the gyoza (ask for Kyle sauce if you like spice) and curried duck and my boyfriend had sushi. My favorite food is curry so I’ve had a lot of good curries and this was one of the best. The duck was cooked to perfection. Even the veggies were amazing. My boyfriend said the quality of the sushi was phenomenal as well. The staff made you feel like family, the conversation with them was great, and they take the time to get to know you and call you by name.
I left with a full belly and a full heart.
I will be coming back and bringing friends!

The staff was very friendly but there is NO way I would go back here. I had pad thai with chicken but could not eat the chicken- it tasted like shrimp and had the most bizarre texture - I don’t think it was real chicken. My son ordered chicken fried rice and it was also terrible. My husband had a sushi roll which he said was delicious.

I don't even know where to start. From the second we walked in, we were treated like old regulars. We took a seat at the bar and the owners Praydith and his wife chatted us up. We asked for recommendations and they legit made our meal. Torched Salmon belly nigiri, calamari, and drunken noodle with the widest noodles you've ever seen. The food. Was. Incredible. Lit behind the sushi bar is fabulous. Try his sauce and ask for the secret menu. I have been to Thailand and had the real deal. This place is the real deal. The reviews speak for themselves. Our new favorite place.

Overpriced and overrated. The food was bland and poorly prepared, chicken was old, maybe even expired, rolls were too expensive and tastes 3/5, Tom yum was disappointing, Beef and noodles 🤦🏻‍♂️. Service was good, but the atmosphere felt too cheap for their prices. Avoid this place if you value your money and your dining experience. It’s not 4.9, the real rating is around 2.7-3.5 stars for this place.

When we arrived, it was packed, and the only available seating was at the counter in front of the sushi chefs. The staff was beyond friendly! The two chefs were funny, helpful, and they talked to us about each dish they were preparing. With only one waitress around, she checked on us often and made small talk. I was highly impressed with how attentive she was to everyone! The food was great, and because the customer service was top notch, we will definitely be back, and we'd probably choose those same seats again!!

Now, onto the food, which is simply out of this world! The **Crunchy Roll (deep-fried)** was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, with a perfect balance of flavors inside. It’s a must-try if you enjoy a satisfying crunch with every bite. The **House Fried Rice** was flavorful, with just the right mix of ingredients; it was seasoned perfectly, making each mouthful a delight. And the **Torched Salmon Belly**? Wow! I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I figured since I survived Milton, I would give it a try today. It was great! I got coconut chicken soup, salmon belly and lobster bomb roll and I couldn't put it down. The only disappointment was when I saw an empty plate!

We just moved into the Tampa area and had this place on our “to visit” list. We were craving sushi and so pleased to read the 5 star reviews. The lady at the front was lovely, and our waiter was very polite. The food however, just did not live up to the hype. A question of quality. $100 later for 2 rolls, 2 soups, and 1 chicken satay, we will not be returning. The price was not the issue, as much as the quality. Publix is on an equal or higher level grade of sushi. Maybe it was just an off night.

Where do I begin? This place charges extra for paying with a credit card and even for a refill of iced tea—yes, you read that right, iced tea! For $25, my chicken entrée should’ve come with a side of gold, but instead, we got the privilege of waiting forever for refills. The restaurant had a charming ‘we don’t clean here’ vibe, and the bathroom didn’t believe in paper towels. The food? Eh, if you like a scavenger hunt for meat, you’ll love it. With all the extra fees, they’re basically the Frontier Airlines of Asian cuisine—except the food doesn’t fly!

Our nephew treated us to dinner at his favorite restaurant. We were not disappointed. After a warm greeting by Pradeth & Mihan, the charming owners, we sat down to the finest meal we've had in a while. The food was so fresh and flavorful! And the service was great! We live in Ft Myers, but will definitely return to this hidden gem next time we're in Tampa.

This is a true neighborhood gem. Inside an unremarkable exterior, is a vibrant, energetic, hospitable dining experience.

The sushi rolls are excellent and fresh and the hamachi with jalapeños and a salmon ceviche were exceptional.

The owners are so nice and inviting, and many patrons were known by the staff, who take after the owners and are also warm and welcoming.

We will make this a regular haunt for outstanding neighborhood food.

Heard good things so I wanted to check it out. I heard it was busy, so I called, I got a voicemail telling me that they were too busy to answer phone and to place a to go order online. So I did, it was bit pricey frankly for not a bunch of food. I got Larb, some tuna nigiri, salt and pepper calamari, and Thai tea. The to go glass was small for 4.99, and not great. The calamari was decent but Yummy House is WAY better (and larger portion). The nigiri was good, but zero wasabi under the maguro. $46 bucks…without tip….oh and the online order forces you to place a tip BEFORE you get your food or any service.

Rice & Spice is our “go-to” for great takeout! Generous portions, delicious dishes and they can turn up the spice level if you choose. You can order online thru their Instagram page.

Would also highly recommend dine-in, we always get great service. Sushi rolls that we’ve tried have been amazing!

the restaurant is small, the atmosphere is cozy, the food is not worth the money, the 5 reviews are apparently from those who have not tried really good sushi. I ordered Tom Yam soup, since the restaurant positions itself as Thai, but they brought me a completely different soup, as if it was instant soup from a bag. My wife and I did not enjoy it.

We absolutely love this place! The service and owners are incredible and make this place so special. Sang was our server and had spot on recommendations we are looking forward to having next time. He recommended the crunchy rice cake with spicy tuna (not too spicy) and we never would’ve thought to try it but we are going to be getting it every time. Also had the tuna red light and trifecta rolls which were both incredible. We got extra “get lit” sauce and we also will be getting it every time. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My wife and I learned that the Asian Fusion restaurant Rice and Spice has been in business for 2 years, but we never had the pleasure of visiting until last night.
We started with sushi as an appetizer - a Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (made of Spicy Tuna with cucumber, scallions, masago topped with sesame seeds and flakes) and Spicy Crab Roll (made of Spicy Crab with masago, scallions, cucumber and sesame seeds). Both were tasty, but the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll had a more pleasantly prominent flavor.

My wife and I shared the Sai Oua and the Tipsy Noodle (with Shrimp as my chosen protein). The server gave me a choice of spiciness of 1 through 5 on the Tipsy Noodle (made up of stir-fried wide rice noodles with egg, mixed vegetables and basil leaves), and I choose 3, which was a good level for me.

The really great surprise is the Sai Oua (Laotian Spicy pork herbal sausage with pickled Daikon and shredded carrot, served with Laotian sticky rice). The light but noticeable herbal flavor combines well with the tasty pork, well-complemented by the sticky rice.

The Tipsy Noodles were very good, with string beans, red pepper, green pepper, onion and broccoli combining with the perfectly cooked wide noodles and shrimp.

The service was great, with responsive, informative and non-intrusive assistance.

The atmosphere is casual, clean and bright. (We were not looking for a romantic or intimate venue, our priority being great food and service.)

We intend to return (so that I may try the Crispy Duck with Basil Sauce or the Crispy Snapper with Basil Sauce) and to bring friends and family. I strongly recommend Rice and Spice.

The food was great, the service was amazing. One of our platters did have enough fish on it, and the chef was aware of it and came out and apologized and gave our table free Saki. I would definitely come back. My husband got the Lobster Bomb and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

My son had the opportunity to pick anywhere to eat tonight and he wasn’t sure where he wanted to go, but he knew he wanted to try chicken fried rice for the first time so after researching a few restaurants in the Clearwater area, we decided that the atmosphere wasn’t what we wanted and the ratings didn’t live up to our standards so we made the drive to Tampa and visited Rice and Spice for the first time.

My son ordered chicken fried rice and he was in heaven!

Peter, our server was extremely hospitable, very professional, and checked back often to see how everything was.

We met Pradith, one of the owners and he took the time to explain to my son how the dish was made, and what made up the fusion menu that they offer. He explained to my 12-year-old what countries and region they came from, and answered all of his questions, as my son loves Asian cuisine.

We were even able to try a new menu item that we had never heard of but will definitely be ordering again.

Five stars just isn’t enough! My son had the time of his life tonight and I can’t say enough about this restaurant. It’s refreshing to see owners and employees that take pride in their food and then their work. The presentation was impressive but the flavors were even better. Thank you Rice and Spice. You have new customers for life!

We love this place! I've here 4-5 times with my wife and every time the service, somehow, gets better. The owners and chefs are extremely friendly and the food is freakin' amazing! We drive about 40mins to get here and it is worth is every time! We'll be back (again) soon!

The wife and I went to Rice & Spice last night for dinner and let me tell you, the word on the street is true. The sushi is the best in town and done the right way. Fresh, flavorful and forget the soy sauce, their in house sauces are amazing. The chef is very detail oriented and other restaurants should take a page from their service. You felt like a family member. We talked to the owner, the owners wife for awhile and our server was awesome, you can truly see they care about the product they put out. This is our new favorite spot. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

My wife and I were visiting friends in Dunedin and decided to go here to celebrate a 50th birthday. We were greeted by the owner who was very cordial. He and his wife were the most welcoming people. He recommended the Special Salad for us to share. That was a hit with us. All the dishes were amazing! Gotta stop by again next time we're in the neighborhood.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Tampa area. My friend and I go here everytime she visits, and not only do they remember our faces, but they are even conscientious of my food allergies and super open to her weird alterations on food. The servers are awesome, as are the chef and manager/owner.

Now for the food. Best gyōza in the area. Best sushi rolls in the area. Amazing Pad See Ew. Amazing fried rice. Everything about this place makes me happy and is 5 out of 5 stars

Found this place on a whim and im so happy we walked in their doors. Their tuna roll ranks among the best I've ever had. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the owner even came out to see how everything tasted.

You can tell they actually care about the food they serve you. I've found that so many places rely on "one and done" customers and don't put any heart or pride into the food. This place is not one of those, they care and you can taste it. I'm so excited to have found them and they will be my go to sushi place for the foreseeable future. It's a breathe of fresh air to find such a hidden gem.

Absolutely a 5 star sushi experience. Got here right as they opened on a Sunday. Blown away by the quality of food. Tried several things can't even name them all lol but got pictures. Crunchy roll, green dragon roll and fried ice cream just to name a few items. The whole staff provided a wonderful dining environment. Will def come back here. Maybe for dinner tonight 😅 All the dishes seemed to melt in my mouth. We couldn't stop ordering more dishes

One of our new favorite places. I wish I could remember the owner/hostesses name she was excellent, so friendly. Our waiter was great too! When they tell you something is spicy, believe them. Food was excellent. Definitely going back!

My daughter and I visited Rice & Spice for the first time today. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted and sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs were extremely welcoming. The sushi chefs happily offered recommendations and shared knowledge with us regarding the different fish, sauces, etc. We ordered a coconut chicken soup (Thorn Kha Gai) that was delicious and fresh. We then ordered a Spicy Crab Roll and a Double Impact Specialty Roll (it was a shrimp tempura roll topped with spicy crab on 1/2 of it and spicy tuna on 1/2 of it). Oh my! This was delicious! As an entrée, we ordered Pad Sa Ew with Chicken (a rice noodle dish with veggies and a dark, sweet soy sauce). Everything was incredibly delicious. The staff, the atmosphere, and the food were all top-notch. I would highly recommend.

The food at Rice & Spice is absolutely Amazing!
We had the rice cake appetizer, pineapple fried rice and Red light Tokyo tuna roll and each dish was fantastic! The mixture of flavors, the freshness and presentation were unlike anything I’ve had before.
To top it off, the owner is delightful and friendly. Not only did the owner, Praydith visit our table, we had a lengthy conversation about his food and family.
The service was excellent and Chase was able to take care of the entire restaurant with her pleasant personality.

The 37 minutes one way drive from my hotel was well worth it as the food was fresh, unique (Laos Asian fusion) and delicious! The staff was very friendly, attentive and fast service. The co-owners, Praditt and his brother greeted and chatted with me, even genuinely interested in my honest constructive feedback on the R&S salad. I didn’t have much as the dish was delicious with plenty of fresh tuna, hamachi and salmon - well worth the price so don’t let that deter you! I even ordered the Tipsy noodles with chicken to go for today’s lunch. It is quite yummy cold as well warmed up. Praditt was spot on about the noodles not being hardened upon warm up (or next day leftovers) when I asked which was better as leftovers between the fried rice and Tipsy noodles. (By the way, this dish is similar to the Thai dish spicy drunken noodles “pak kee mao” except it’s the Laos version.)
Highly recommend and will come back next time I am in the area! If you’re local, give it a try!

One of the best authentic Thai food in the Tampa Bay. I personally wouldn’t go over spice level 2 as it can get quite spicy beyond that… and I’m from Southeast Asia. Tom Yum Goong and Pad Thai were on point, and the owner was kind enough to stop by greet everyone. Will be back.

The sashimi is fresh and high quality. The fish is delicious and smooth with no fishy taste. The crispy volcano chicken was also good but basically general tso's chicken that you could get anywhere for less than $22. The menu prices for the sashimi and sushi increased by $6 from $27.95 to $33.95 since last month and they don't have a website or post pricing online. Also they charge $4 more if you pay with a card instead of cash, which they don't tell you until after you get the bill. Spent about $80 for 2 people after the tip. Unlike other restaurants of this style, they don't give you miso soup or salad or anything while you wait for your food. Ordered a coke and they only have cans, which they also don't tell you until you get it, so no refills obviously. It's not fine dining, the restaurant is small and so are the tables, and the tables are very close together. The atmosphere, amount and type of food don't warrant the high prices. The fish quality was good but the pricing and charges are underhanded. Overall not worth it. Plenty of better options for the amount of money or even less money honestly.

Highest grade sushi created by a master in a warm, friendly, neighborhood environment. This family run business is the best sushi in the area. I ate beyond my limit, which is hard for me to do with sushi. And Lit’s dipping sauces are a game changer. Sayonara wasabi and soy sauce. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in a small strip center on Sheldon Rd and well worth the trip. The owner and staff are very friendly and attentive and will explain each dish with care and recommend items to your preference. I've had calamari many places and this hands down is the best ever and surprisingly no sauce needed or served with it - very flavorful on its own. Did not sample the sushi but only a couple dishes and look forward to a return visit. The food is fresh, skillfully cooked and generous portions and explained as Asian Fusion. Well worth the trip.
