Man I don't know what happened. Been coming here since 2020 and the last 3 times I've went were just plain weird. This is my tuna roll that they rolled for me. $17. Also why are they so big now? Used to be my favorite "cheap" place to eat on 30A after working all day. Wayne if you're reading this, you're great. This is nothing against you our family has loved the staff but I'm just sick of the inconsistency. From undercooked pork dumplings to poorly made sushi rolls.

Something changed. We come here for vacation each year and eagerly came to dinner last night. Oh, it was so sad and awful. Basic food like hamachi wasn't available. Instead, the server brought a weird slab of tuna - BIG slab of tuna. We had 2 sakes and 2 beers, and an order of edemame, and shishito peppers. Our bill was $100 and we didn't get any real food.
So sad. Used to love this place. We will never be back.

The staff is incredible but their poke bowls are not good. They lack major flavor and the tuna tasted a little fishy. Their ramen was average. The fact that they automatically add 15% tip to a simple to go order that you ealk to the counter ans place seems a little crazy to me especially when the food is already way overpriced. Definitely won't be going back.

I really wish to write a good review but I really don't understand other good reviews. When we came in the place looked so cute and promising and then we placed our order and oh, my, we didn't like any of our dishes. It was 5 of us and we order few miso soups that were way salty that you couldn't even eat them. We ordered two shrimp tempura rolls that were cut to big and nothing special. Wasabi was like from a super market out of a squat bottle. And now for my son's order pork noodle bowl.... Pork had so much fat chunks that it was disgusting and so is the broth. So, no, we will not be back and I would advise you to think twice if you want to come here and it is about $40 per person with a tip.

Sat down rather quickly even though it was busy. That is about the only good part about our experience. On the table they have a sign that said "ask your server about our sake cocktails", so we did. He said "I would explain it to you, but I'm too busy". Then proceeded to explain it to the table next to us right after we ordered. After that, our food came out well before our appetizers. The food was medicore at best. Overall probably wouldn't visit again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Great food! The best ramen noodle I ever ate in my life. We live in Nashville and travel quite a bit to Atlanta. In comparation , Ramen here is exceed expectations. Too bad, we was too hungry to take any picture. I order miso pork ramen, and my husband order nanbo beef, my 3 year old get chicken kid ramen and she keeps asking me to feed her. The Korean style chicken wing is great too. We got there around 8:30, they closed at 9. The place not too packed as people are leaving We got food like in 5 min. The food presentation is pretty and welcoming. We might come back for the rice bowls, look amazing in pictures.

Sushi Experience №32

The service and the atmosphere were top notch at this restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly and the restaurant was playing popular head-bopping music. The interior design of the place is very cute, hipster. You can tell someone put a lot of thought into it.

Several of us got the Tuna Poke bowl, which came with Tuna, edamame, radishes, green onions, rice, avocado, sesame seeds, and… pickles. I really tried to like it, but unfortunately I just couldn’t understand the need to put pickles on a poke bowl. Yes, I could have removed them when ordering, but I wanted to try to see if it was good as maybe the chef was onto something there. It was not good. Multiple people in our group did not enjoy those, and all of us eat pickles on the regular.

Another thing that was lacking in the bowl was the rice and sauce, or lack thereof. The rice was bland, dry, and did not give off the flavoring of sushi rice or any type of seasoning. May I suggest rice vinegar and sake for the future? The rice of a poke bowl is an integral puzzle piece of the food, and it being dry and flavorless really took away from the rest of the food.

It would be good to be able to order a sauce with the bowls from the get-go. Something like teriyaki or ponzu or even shrimp sauce. The meal becomes very dry with no add-in sauces.

The others in our party had the Pork Belly Rice bowl and Chicken Yaki. They enjoyed their meals, but did have to ask for addition sauces as well.

Overall, could be a fantastic eatery, with minor improvements towards the dishes. Almost… ALMOST… worth the stop for the service and atmosphere.

I have many things to say about this establishment. My fellow colleagues and I had ordered from this restaurant on the Uber Eats program. The meal successfully arrived at our location but we were surprised to see what had been delivered to us. I had Korean beef which tasted quite mediocre. I had also ordered gyoza (dumplings) which is usually one of my favorite treats. I was shocked to see that it was soaking wet with pink meat. The taste was absolutely awful. If someone were to ask what horrible means I would show them this meal. Never ordering again.

Had a great dinner tonight at Nanbu. Started with the dumplings of the day; pork vegetable. The sauce and dumplings were exactly what I expected; yum. We got three sushi rolls; our kid lived the spicy tuna (not so spicy) and we got the Sriracha roll and the Grayton roll. The Grayton roll was stupendous; really flavorful and balanced. Then to make sure our kid ate something, we got the chicken ramen. The chicken had a really nice soy infused flavor and the rest of the bowl was presented nicely with comforting broth. Service was too notch. Our kid was / is obsessed with the mango iced tea. It is liquid candy. The service was fast, yet unrushed. Super friendly place, cool merch. I'd definitely frequent this restaurant if we lived here. Great vibe.

Would not go back or recommend you even try. I've never in my life seen somewhere charge an unadvertised 15% fee for take out. Ask the person who got my food if it was for their tip and they were unsure even after asking the manager. If you're going to charge a 15% fee at least find a decent way to package the items. The sushi roll was way too small for the box, not sure if it was shaken as it was put in the bag or on my 5 minute walk back to where we were staying. The roll was advertised as having lump crab and all you can taste is onion. The Ramen was deconstructed (broth in a plastic bowl and everything else in a Togo box). Even after putting it in my own bowl and pouring the broth over, the noodles and other items still tasted day old. Ramen and broth had less flavor than what you would buy dehydrated from Walmart. Overall poor experience.

This restaurant has popped up on FB all the time so I decided to give it a try today. Hmmm, what a disappointment! The food is one star, the service is 5 and the atmosphere is 3. I tried their pork belly ramen noodle. The broth has no umami flavor but a salty soup. The pork belly was tough. The correct way that a real Japanese chef will make is not just to fry the pork belly but will braise the belly afterward till it can be melted in your mouth. The price is also much more than the one near where I live. Don't think I will drive 45 minutes for their ramen again.

Nanbu's location along 30A near Grayton Beach was a welcome sight for us after having American-style food for a couple of days. The change to Asian-style meals and seafood was both refreshing and comforting. I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen dish with its various options, authentic and savory broth, hearty noodles, tasty veggies, and fresh herb garnish. The poke bowl was equally impressive with its presentation, delicious flavors, and high-quality tuna/salmon. The highlight of our visit, however, was the exceptional service from the staff, who greeted everyone with big smiles and made our experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the Caribbean twist in the upbeat music playing during our visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend Nanbu for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

This place charges togo fee for takeout order. We got charged $9 for almost $50 food order. They will also ask if you want to tip on the top of it. The yellowfin tuna roll costs as same as poke bowls which was $17, but the rolls were tiny and they had barely any tunas. They didn't season the rice inside. They even used plain white rice without seasoning for tuna and porkbelly bowls. Very disappointing.

My review got removed accidentally 😢

I really enjoyed my meal at Nanbu Noodle Bar. The food was great, highly recommend the Ramen. My only comment is the broth was a little sweet for my taste, I tend to prefer a more traditional salty broth.

The décor was fun and well done. Even when busy there was plenty of places to sit and get a bite to eat.

They served a nice variety of Sake and Japanese drinks. For those who prefer there was also high quality bottled sodas.

I loved this place and would happily go back if I am in the area again.

Their lunch Raman is out of this world! Super rich complex flavor. The made fresh dumplings taste like they are made to order. The pork belly buns are fantastic, really loved the soft and crispy way they prepared the pork. A little pricy but to be expected in this area. We left full and happy. Our waitress ran the whole show and did a perfect job at it. This may sound strange but every time we dine here (at least 4 times a month) the music playing is excellent. We often leave with new music to add to our playlist. I get the Nanbu noodle bowl every time because when I’m not eating here I’m thinking about eating the noodle bowl. It’s sweet and savory and rich and large. You should definitely eat here.

I went to Nanbu the other night and ordered the Korean wings and the pork belly Yaki. I have to say the wings were flavorful, tender, and not too spicy (I recommend getting them without the Siracha if you aren’t a fan of spice).

However, the pork belly Yaki was disgusting. The “stir fried” noodles did not come as advertised. Instead, the noodles were coated in a grey paste and took the shape of the bowl similar to the canned cranberry sauce on thanksgiving. I am aware that miso paste is a normal ingredient in Yaki but this is no excuse for the grey, pasty, gelatin-like noodles that I was served. I would like to say that the pork belly redeemed this sub par dish but this is unfortunately not the case. The majority of the meat was fat. Once again I understand that pork belly is naturally a fatty cut of meat but this quality of pork belly was very low.

Overall, my experience was sub par and I was very disappointed with the quality of food and the menu descriptions.

Atmosphere and music is funky and bright. Owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. Located in quaint Grayton Beach before you hit Hwy. 30A. 🍜 Note: This is a very small restaurant so keep that in mind if you are a large group or visit during peak seasons. Giving this review 3 stars for now because the last time we dined in the meat inside of our gyoza was not cooked all the way, resulting in biting into some very undercooked beef/pork. I’m a recent transplant to PCB from SoCal where I could find ramen on practically every street corner. Having major withdrawals for my beloved ramen, I had to drive 30 minutes from PCB to get here, as I could not find a single ramen place in PCB.

I had the miso pork ramen. Is that considered tonkotsu? It was really good; however, I would have added more broth and had the seasoned egg less intense of a traditional soy sauce flavor. Also the noodles tasted a bit bland and not like what I’m used to. Still great restaurant, though, and I will definitely be back.

EDITED 10/17/2021: They have really upped their culinary skills since my last review. The miso pork ramen I had was phenomenal and even better than what I used to have in SoCal. Marinated egg was perfect and not overly seasoned with soy sauce.

Now I only wish that they would open up a branch in PCB!

It was a great atmosphere! we are local and had never been here before. Decided to try something out of our normal choices. Glad we did, the smells were amazing walking in. I didnt get a pic of the appetizers but they were on point. I had the chicken wings and my wife had the miso soup. For the main course lunch my wife had the bento box (I think it is spelled right) and I had the spicy tuna poke bowl. Great flavor, my only complaint was my rice in the spicy tuna poke bowl was a little over cooked but really good! We will be back to experience this place again. May even add it to the regular by-weekly list.

The food was good, but we waited an hour after we ordered to receive it. The only waitress was slammed, taking care of the whole (but tiny) place, including the bar, but did her professional best to keep us happy while the kitchen poked along. The food arrived with mistakes but we were too hungry to object...we figure everywhere is struggling with staffing, so we'll try again, but...speed up!

Fun lunch time atmosphere, chill, whimsical decor, great music selection and bass you can feel coming through the bar top, pleasant, happy smiley staff….the workman’s lunch bowl with chicken is phenom! I didn’t want the broth to end, first sip from the spoon, I knew I was in for a treat, chicken was cooked to perfection, leaving satisfied and will be returning regularly, this place deserves a double thumbs up & 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Thank you Wayne. As vegetarians we were initially excited about trying this place as there seemed to be a lot of variety for us, but it turned out to be horrible. There was no salt or flavor in either of the ramen or noodle dishes we ordered (that we waited over 30+ minutes for) and the ingredients were the same in both with no variety or diversification in taste. The ramen’s broth tasted like beet root water and the noodles were made of buckwheat, which was not mentioned anywhere in the menu. We hadn’t touched the noodles at all so the server was kind enough to take them off our bill but we still left hungry and unsatisfied.

One person in our party received their food a good bit later, but they made things right with him. We enjoyed the music and the vibe. Will definitely come back when we visit Grayton Beach.

Small, cozy, modern eatery a short way off 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. Friendly service. Food was fresh and well prepared. Had Workman's Ramen for lunch, and the Miso Pork Ramen for dinner. The meats are on the sweeter side, with a southern BBQ style marinade. The broths are also a little sweeter and a little more oily than I'm used to in "traditional" style ramen. Overall, between the service, beer selection, and high quality food, the experience was a good one. I would visit again.

I can only speak for the beef bulgogi as I did not sample my husband’s meal, but my bowl was pretty awful. The meat was a surprisingly good amount, but over marinated and completely mushy. The rice was just_so_mushy like it was cooked oven top by someone inexperienced. Buy a rice cooker. The veggies were probably the best part of the bowl, though the kimchi was a bit bland and the cucumber was over pickled, meaning mushy. The scallions and carrots were fresh. I did not detect any cilantro. Sorry to use the word mushy over and over, but it really was. Beef bulgogi is SO EASY to make, but sometimes we don’t feel like cooking.

Aside of the disappointing bowl, there is the disappointing 18% service fee. I see that the owner has an automatic reply, “The 18% gratuity is added to all pickup orders. This helps cover the cost of our environmentally friendly packaging and, most importantly, ensures our rockstar staff get the kudos they deserve for all the amazingly hard work they do day in and day out. Thank you for understanding!”

Your wooden chop sticks to go are nice, but since when are the plastic bowls and plastic wrapped plastic utensils and plastic bags that you use with your pick up orders environmentally friendly? There is no one serving or waiting on us when we pick up our meals. The cooks don’t work on tips. They are paid an hourly wage. Pre-pandemic service fees on pick up did not exist in America. I guess “the kudos they deserve for all the amazingly hard work they do day in and day out” weren’t a thing pre-pandemic, too? From one business owner to another, if you really feel that way, please pay your cooks a higher hourly wage and not pass on your responsibility as restaurant owners to your patrons.

For those who love beef bulgogi, but are intimidated by cooking Korean food, try Mama Sita’s barbeque marinade for the beef, seasoned rice vinegar (to marinate the cucumber in) found in any grocery store, and a $20 rice cooker from Wal-Mart. You can find kimchi in any grocery store if you don’t want to make it, but it is better, more cost effective and so easy to make your own. I usually buy Mama Sita’s in an Asian market, so I don’t know if it is in regular grocery stores. They do, however, sell it on Amazon. I guarantee that the bowl you make at home will be better than the take out I received and without the ridiculous service fee. I bet you would make this once a week!

I've been to many ramen shops from East Coast to West Coast and this is hands down one of the best ones I've been too. The interior is super nice and the staff is very hospitable. I had the pork ramen bowl and my family shared the wings. The ramen was as good as any I've had(pretty sure it's Tonkatsu but I could be wrong) and wings are the best I've ever had in my life. Wish I could leave 6 stars

My wife and I stopped by on a whim while staying in the area and were very impressed. The restaurant's simple but quaint interior does not reveal the quality of food they serve. The sushi, pork belly buns, dumplings and ramen were all fantastic... not to mention the saki flight which included 4 completely different styles of Saki. My only complaint was that the restaurant was quite warm which was not ideal on a June night. If this restaurant was in our hometown, we would certainly keep it in our regular rotation.

This place is amazing and so cozy. There is a cute porch to sit at on the side, and couches at the front. The staff is so friendly, and the service is great. They do different dumplings each day and the beef and vegetable are great. The Sake Maki sushi roll was so good and the salmon tasted perfect. I got the Korean beef bbq yaki noodles, and they were so great. The cucumber in it really added to the flavor. The pork miso ramen was great and my boyfriend says it tasted very authentic. I highly recommend this noodle bar.

One of the WORST restaurants I've been to in Florida!! We waited 20 mins then I finally I stood up to ask if we can order. They never apologized by the way! Then we waited for 20 mins for the sushi that tasted good but would have been better if I didn't have to wait so long. We then waited another 20 mins for the actual entree, which is a miso ramen that has no miso flavor and so little for 18 dollars (waited total 1 hr). As someone that works as a server/food indusrty, I should never see someone else, that came after me, get their food first. Really feels like they don't care and more excited about working at the bar then serving the food.

I saw God when I ate this sushi. I tried my first bite as the beat dropped to Phil Collins “In the Air Tonight” and it was a religious experience. This was genuinely the best sushi I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend the shrimp tempura roll. The atmosphere was amazing, fantastic music, super cute set up, and friendly and speedy service. If you find yourself in Santa Rosa beach you can’t miss out on trying Nanbu. I’m now a changed woman. Truly transformative experience.

Amazing place. The service was fast, friendly, and simple! Menu is accessed thru QR scan. We ordered Cokes and they came as Boylan Cane Cola, which we didn't mind because it was wonderful - we aren't sure if the drinks are bottomless, though. The food was absolutely fantastic, a fine blend of southern and Japanese cuisine. It was interesting to try and I will be back!

When traveling, I always try to find something with an Asian spin, and this was a fun and tasty spot. Dishes were a bit southern style as far as ingredients. Korean chicken, Indian curry noodles, and the Nanbu ramen was ordered along with some drinks. Korean chicken was my favorite of the order. The Funky Buddha drinks are so clean and crisp! Not too pricey in comparison to other places close to the beach. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area.
