Wako features premium quality fish, is attentive to every detail, and provides friendly service. We are dedicated to presenting our best to everyone who wants to enjoy authentic Japanese delicacies with friends and family.
Their lunch buffet option is phenomenal. There is a wide variety of options and you really can't beat it. They do get busy so I recommend arriving early or reserving a table in advance. Food tasted amazing and the staff were all very good at their job!

The rest of the good reviews here don’t lie! My boyfriend and I dined in today for the All You Can Eat, paid $20 a person, and had a very enjoyable experience. Shout out to Ben who was a wonderful server - our food was out within minutes between orders (it was almost unbelievable how fast it was). The Dragon, Lover and Rainbow rolls were our favorites. The cucumber salad and miso soup are also worth trying.
What they fell short on was the sushi (nigiri), and not because the fish wasn’t fresh, but because the sushi rice was warm, so the contrast between warm rice and cold fish wasn’t the best. This could’ve been due to the restaurant being busy, though.
Nevertheless, everything was delicious and I would recommend it to anybody! :)

Wow, what can I say? Wako Japanese Restaurant in Pensacola offers some of the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. Our server, Ben, truly enhanced our dining experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, walking us through the menu and explaining how the all-you-can-eat sushi worked.
My son and I opted for the all-you-can-eat sushi option, which was an absolute delight. This offering included drinks, a variety of appetizers, an endless stream of sushi, and even dessert. Unlike many sushi places where you place an order and then wait for what feels like an eternity, at Wako, the sushi arrived almost instantaneously after ordering. It felt like we were seated next to a conveyor belt of sushi magic. The sushi bar was manned by what I can only describe as an army of sushi ninjas, each diligently crafting perfect rolls and sashimi with incredible speed and precision. The quality and freshness of the sushi were evident in every bite, making it a truly memorable meal.
Meanwhile, my wife opted for the hibachi and found it absolutely delicious.
To finish our meal, we indulged in the tempura cheesecake for dessert, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The delicate crunch of the tempura coating combined with the creamy, rich cheesecake inside was a symphony of textures and flavors that left us in awe.
Overall, Wako Japanese Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of exceptional service, high-quality sushi, delicious hibachi, and a divine dessert made for an unforgettable dining adventure. If you’re a sushi lover or a hibachi enthusiast in Pensacola, Wako is an absolute must-visit. And when you go, be sure to ask for Ben—his outstanding service will make your experience even more special. We can’t wait to return!

I recently dined at this fantastic sushi restaurant that offers an all-you-can-eat option, and I was thoroughly impressed. The service was top-notch, with our server being incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food quality exceeded my expectations, surpassing that of other similar all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in the area. I won’t name drop but if you know, you know (;
The speed of service was notably faster as well and there was no instance of any orders being forgotten or accidentally given to other tables.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to any sushi lover looking for a satisfying dining experience. From the friendly service to the exceptional food quality, this establishment truly stands out as a gem in the world of sushi dining.

My first time here and it was fantastic! We got there right before the line got extremely long, but even the people waiting seemed very content as there are plenty of places to sit and wait a long the way...
Food was wonderful, something for everyone and it was all so fresh!
Travis was our server and he was so kind and professional. Definitely be sat at one of his tables if you can!

First time here and we went for my birthday. The wait wasn't bad it was about 15 mins. The food came about as fast as we ordered which is always nice and our server Nate was the best. Friendly and attentive. Not overly in your face but there when ya needed more rolls or whatever. Before we left I got the tempura cheesecake and they made it birthday special 💜 it was a nice ending to life here in Pensacola and a beginning of year 39 for new adventures that await. I'm sure when we come back to town we'll go again.

I see extremely positive reviews for Wako, I've also had several friends tell me it's great show me my first experience just wasn't what I expected.
The service was great! Five stars there. Are waitress was hospitable and kempt the drinks full. Atmosphere was a 3 and I feel like that's a little generous. Our party was sat so close to the next table that the chairs nearly overlapped. Definitely not possible to have any sort of private conversation, or even easily get up to go to the restroom. Maybe this isn't the usual?
And then the food was not great. We had four adults and two kids at our table, no in particularly enjoyed it. The sushi taste dry, and less fresh than we would have liked.
This all being said we're going to give it another shot because several of our friends swear by this place. I will edit this review when we do.

We had been so excited to finally go to Wako!! The minute we approached the building, we were shocked!!! It was FILTHY!!! The entry way and sidewalks leading up the entrance was DISGUSTING!!! Why don't they power wash it????? We continued inside and the minute we entered, there was an overpowering smell of fish that was bad or something that was rotten!! It was very strong, and we almost left...but we stayed because it was 2:30 on a Friday and the place was packed!!! Plus, the reviews were outstanding!!! We were seated at a table, the floor was so sticky and slippery, very gross!! The table was also dirty and menus were disgusting!!! The menu was dirty, falling apart and looked nasty!!! We decided to leave without trying the food, we just had the thought if this place is that dirty in the outside and seating area, how clean could the kitchen actually be??? I am Japanese and was SHOCKED at the uncleanliness!! I have NEVER been in a Japanese restaurant that was so dirty!!! I was very sad and sorry to post this review.

Love this place... all you can eat menu is not just sushi..it's basically anything they serve in the restaurant. Also comes with one free alcoholic drink. Definitely worth the $30 you pay!
Service was fast, servers were quick to please and take your multiple orders each time.
Friendly staff upon entrance and exiting the place. Sushi staff was busy, but took the time to thank you for your business as you walked by.

I ordered the all-you-can-eat, while my wife had the chicken and steak hibachi. The AYCE service was impressively fast for a Friday night, with food arriving at the table in under ten minutes. The salmon sashimi was outstanding, with generously sized pieces, and the sushi was also excellent. The hibachi dinner portions were large enough to easily serve two people.

We ordered hibachi chicken for takeout. Got it home and it was clear that this meal was not prepared in the hibachi style with the classic hibachi sauces. It was un seasoned food throw on the grill. On top of that we didn’t recovery our side order and the sauces they gave us wasn’t yum yum sauce.

If I could give 0 stars I would. my friends like hey let’s go to wakos while we were on the way to sushi masa I said no multiple times and he was insistent so we went…
It was probably the worst sushi place I’ve been to! they had no ac, sashimi was hot, sweat tea was not good no root beer and the other sodas were to carbonated, sushi was a mess…
The service was horrible brought us the wrong order waitress had some hearing issue and one of the people had their finger in my bowl while delivering it… safe to say I’ll never return!

This is our go-to spot for all you can eat sushi in the area. All the food is very good and is made well by the chefs. The servers can get overwhelmed when it's busy but hey it's all you can eat and made per order so it can take a bit for your food to arrive but it's worth it for sure. We haven't found one that is close to the same. Thank you guys for the great food.

Wasn't as good as I've heard it was. For the price of the AYCE and compare that to others, I'd rather go elsewhere and pay the extra $2 or $3. The menu was physically in bad condition. The tables were small and just lacked any quality. At the time we went, it was busy and felt like they just shoved as many tables as they could into the small building. Also, when we were given our table our server went MIA.

Let’s first start off with I made a reservation. 6 people. When I arrived with the 4 and two about 10 mins out I was told we can sit until all the people in my party are here. I would have been fine with the information if the hostess was not acting like it like a flip flop and expecting me to treat her like a Louis Vuitton. Would be different if this place was clean and floor not slippery. Do not act like this is a 5 star restaurant as it’s a Pensacola sushi in front of a Publix. Remember your attitude and atmosphere will determine the company you serve.

I went in with my wife and the hosts were so kind to seat us in a booth. Our server was very helpful with explaining the all you can eat. Overall the sushi was delicious. The food was really good. Our server however was pretty bad. He took our order, brought our drinks and never returned. Someone else brought our food. I had to go to the hostess to get more soda. One person in our party ordered all you can eat, but he never returned to see if she wanted more. Overall the food was not so exceptional to make me want to return.

I have been eating at this location about 4 times a month and walk in at 12:18pm for lunch and I was told that they were not able to seat me because I was just 1 person. They had seating for me. Several at the bar and most outdoor tables were available. I actually drove from Milton just to eat lunch here. Several times I have had to wait till a table was available but the hostess made it very clear that it was because I was by myself. You just lost a extremely good customer.

Update 09/11/24 in response to the restaurants reply to my review, asking for me to contact them and give them the opportunity to make it right. I called today, twice and sent a message through this chat forum. No response.
The title of this review is “Would not return 😐”. In town for work and ordered sushi to-go. Normally sushi is either fresh or not fresh but this was somewhere in between. First of all when I got there the young lady said she was going to “bag up my order” took it from the sushi bar and walked in the kitchen 🤔. Came back and the bottom of the bag felt warm 🤨. But I got one raw roll and another of their special rolls with “cooked” elements so I just chalked it up to that. I should have checked the bag before I left but I didn’t. Tired, unfamiliar surrounds ready to go. Back at the hotel I found 3 soy sauce packets for 2 rolls-no ginger-no wasabi but the worst part was the Ray the sushi looked, I should have taken a picture. The spicy tuna roll looked ok but the other roll, King Kong looked disgusting. I mean I guess the name said it all 🫤. I mean 🤢 but I it was a unique roll with I think what was suppose to be seaweed salad and something else, everything smelted ok so I removed the “something else” and ate the soft shell crab and avocado. I pretty mush just remove what I could identify and ate what I felt comfortable eating. Oddly enough the eel on it was bad. Anyway the look just turned me off and the actually taste didn’t make it any better but it was edible. The spicy tuna roll tastes just ok.

The worst restaurant experience I ever had! It usually takes a lot for me to give a one star review, but this place deserved it!
Food: I got all you can eat sushi for lunch. I ordered two different rolls. I love sushi and I am not very picky as long as its fresh and clean(even though I had omakase level experience several times in my life). These rolls weren't fresh at all. They tried to hide unfreshness with a lot of sauce which worked. Later on I ended up with upset stomach.
Ambiance: Generally wasn't bad, interior looked a little old.
Cleanliness: Floor was a little dirty. While I was sitting there were food pieces on the floor here and there. The small plates that we were given had streak and scratch marks all over them.
Staff: Some of the servers looked like they didn't want to be there. This affected the quality of the service. The greeter at the enterance was rude. She ignored us for a moment when we walked in by just doing nothing(and she wasn't busy at all). When we were leaving she did this weird thing, she looked at us and closed her mouth with a palm just laughing. When she was done she wished us a good day.
Final verdict: Not coming back.

Because of this our order was put in very quickly and our drinks came right away. Refills also came to the table right away without us having to ask. The food was amazing. Perfect portions and great quality. We were starving when we went so we ate everything and forgot to take pictures. We will next time! Can't wait to go back and try more of the affordable menu!

It's just as good as supermarket or gas station sushi. Great deal, but the roles didn't impress. Maybe their regular roles are decent, but all you can eat sushi was not worth it, in my opinion.
We did not get the AYCE and took our leftovers home in plastic, not styrofoam, containers. I actually love that the hibachi dinners are not cooked in front of you. We want to talk to our family, rather than watch someone cook. Great place! Will definitely be back!

My experience was OK, the food was great but the service was meh. My husband and I ordered the california rolls, they were great.
I ordered chicken katsu which was supposed to come with a side of rice, and my husband got chicken teryiyaki which came with a side of miso soup. They kept forgetting to bring out the rice and the soup, we didn't get it until we were done with our meal. (I heard the waiter tell another guy to bring it out for us, and that guy just stared at our table and walked away so that annoyed me lol.)
The food was great tho, the chicken katsu is the best I've tried. The miso soup was very disappointing, it was just broth (no tofu, seaweed, green onion). I may give them another shot....

Typical all you can eat sushi restaurant. I have been in here multiple times and never had an issue, However, if you don’t like a sushi roll that you don’t like, you can’t leave more than 4 pieces or they will charge you a la carte pricing for what is left. I ordered 4 rolls total and the first one I had ordered had tough shrimp and WAY TOO much cream cheese. I tried 2 pieces and left the rest. The manager came and told me I was going to have to be charged for the pieces that I had left. I told him my reasoning and he let me know that is a risk you take ordering new rolls. Needless to say, I will not be coming back.

Cali Rolls were bad, shrimp tempura crunch rolls bad, pot stickers bad, fried rice really bad, seaweed yuck. I totally got hoodwinked into trying this place out based on the "reviews 4.6 rating" given by supposed customers. Will not be going back. I regret spending $50+ on that garbage which is where most of it ended up in. Completely inedible.

All. You. Can. Eat. Sushi.
I have been to so many sushi restaurants with this concept over the years. Most are mediocre, at best. Usually, everything tastes the same.
However, we were pleasantly surprised by Mako. We are sushi and sashimi lovers, and it was our first time visiting this restaurant.
●The menu is extensive, and the AYCE list is amazing.
●All rolls are made to order and fresh.
●The rolls are all good size (6-8 pieces per roll).
●Depending on what you order, everything has its own flavor. There are plenty of sauces and fillings in each roll, too.
●You can just order sashimi.
●There are appetizers available.
●The miso was to bland for my taste.
●You get 1 drink included (even alcoholic beverages).
The service was awesome. BEN was great and very efficient for being so busy.
The floors were a little sticky and slippery in spots.
The bathroom was clean.
The restaurant is well staffed.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
I can not wait until we go back!!

The staff was all friendly, hostess, waitress, servers were all super nice. The restaurant was clean. I was quite disappointed by the Sushi. The nigiri was small, but that is fine for an ayce, the main issue was cold rice. It felt like I was getting grocery store nigiri and rolls that had been in the fridge. Every roll, nigiri, anything with sushi rice had cold rice, not room temp or slightly warm, cold. Every roll that included shrimp tempura had cold shrimp -- I expect that from grocery store rolls, not at a restaurant that has chefs rolling and making nigiri. Spicy tuna and salmon were very mushy and not spicy at all. I expect spicy tuna/salmon and other 'spicy' fish rolls to be finely chopped leftovers of other cuts but it felt like these were almost put through a food processor with very little spice. Peppered tuna didn't have any pepper, just a wasabi sauce and was covered with a lot of other stuff including tempura crunch, not horrible but not really peppered tuna, closer to a tuna tatki salad of sorts. Mostly what I will remember is the cold rice -- unfortunate as the staff was very kind. Maybe an off day, maybe I'll try again in the future

Favorite sushi place around! They are fast once you get seated and it never disappoints. Some places make sushi too salty and you can’t enjoy the soy sauce, but this place does it perfectly!
It’s the only sushi that I crave all pregnancy long and even our picky little kids like their food.

When here for dinner tonight and a couple came in not long after me and my 10yr old daughter were sat down and the couple began having foreplay in a u shaped booth when my daughter saw this she brought it to my attention I then told staff what they were doing and that they were exposing themselves in front of my child the staff gave them a warning instead of immediately removing the couple from the restaurant. I will not support a place that is more focused on making money then protecting children from being exposed to explicit content in a public restaurant.

I recently dined at this fantastic sushi restaurant that offers an all-you-can-eat option, and I was thoroughly impressed. The service was top-notch, with our server being incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food quality exceeded my expectations, surpassing that of other similar all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in the area. I won’t name drop but if you know, you know (;
The speed of service was notably faster as well and there was no instance of any orders being forgotten or accidentally given to other tables.

**Phenomenal Experience at Wako Japanese Restaurant - A 20/10 Must-Visit!**
Wako Japanese Restaurant offers an unbeatable $30 all-you-can-eat menu that is nothing short of spectacular! The menu includes everything you could possibly want: huge, delicious rolls, a variety of sodas, tea, alcoholic beverages, and even dessert. The value is incredible, and the quality of the food is top-notch.
Highlights :
Snowcrab salad, Dynamite role, mussels, Tuna Tataki
Thanks to Kris Merritt for introducing us to this phenomenal restaurant!
A special shoutout to the "Birds Nest guy," also known as Blue Robin—he made our dining experience unforgettable! We, the Merrit’s guests, absolutely loved him. His creativity and passion shine through in every dish he prepares. Our server was equally excellent, ensuring we had everything we needed and making our evening delightful.
The atmosphere, the service, and the food are all world-class. I have traveled extensively and can confidently say that Wako Japanese Restaurant is the best in the world. It’s worth flying in from out of town just to experience this culinary delight. We will definitely be back again!
Thank you, Wako, for an extraordinary dining experience!

Super awesome service! We ordered the “all you can eat” and had Raymond as our server. He’s the sweetest!

I wish the servers were a little more interested in who got what instead of dropping the food in front of whomever is closest.

i’ve eaten here and gotten to go from here many times, and the quality of the food is honestly excellent - however, almost always when i order something, a part of my order is missing. this is really frustrating since most of the time i order something before work and can’t wait for it to get fixed. if they did a better job of ensuring every part of an order is included then i would give them 5 stars.

Wako Japanese Cuisine offers a delightful dining experience with its All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) menu. The sushi was fresh and tasty, with a variety of options that pleased our palates. While Wako shares a similar style with Sushi Masa around the corner, it manages to stand out with its quality ingredients and attractive presentation. The meal was enjoyable, and I’m already planning to return for more sushi in the future. For those looking for a satisfying sushi experience, Wako Japanese Cuisine is definitely worth a visit.

Wako has a very similar AYCE menu as sushi masa, as I believe it is owned by a former manager. But their service is typically faster though wait times at lunch rush can be long as expected.
I'm assuming staffing issues, but there have often been several open tables while still having fairly long waits.
I've enjoyed the menu options. Seems similar to most sushi menus in town. Haven't tried the dinner menu, but there are even more options if you want to pay more.
These days, getting sushi isn't much more expensive than getting gross and often slow "fast food", so for the price, I think it is a good value and somewhere I will continue to support as long as they are around.

Only ever been to Sushi Masa? Well, try this place. In my book, it's better. Everything I have had there tastes fresh and delicious. Their Fall-in-love roll is delightful and the Hawaiian Roll is dessert worthy. There is something for everyone here, but the main attraction is sushi, so maybe get the non-sushi eater some McDonald's on the way here.

The place is clean, the service is good, and the food is outstanding! It's my new favorite restaurant.
If you are handicapped, do NOT park in the spot on the far right unless you want your car dented or scraped by the door the kitchen uses to take out the trash. The door swung open and damaged my car. My husband didn't want to say anything because the guy who did it was unable to speak English (he appeared to be from South of the U.S. border).
