Inventive full-service restaurant and bar at Universal CityWalk. East meets West at this lively upstairs spot, offering both burgers and sushi as well as their signature Burgushi® creations that combine the two into one-of-a-kind rolls and handhelds.
After two Universal trips here the past two years, I can say that it’s probably one of my favorite places to eat out of the parks and city walk.
This is a MUST stop for all Sushi and Burger lovers. Its the best of both worlds. The rolls are BIG and delicious. The portions of their food in general are bigger and filling. The food presentation is beautiful and the service is always great!
The tropical storm roll is still my favorite but I also enjoyed the firecracker roll, the boss roll and the spicy crunchy roll. My husband always gets the Texas Longhorn burger with the parmesan truffle fries.
Sit on their patio for a quiet calm lunch or dinner. The parks are loud with people so it’s actually nice to have a little break during the day! And you can people watch from their patio which is entertaining. They also have heaters so even if it’s chilly it’s worth it.
Make reservations using the universal app, there’s usually a ton of availability and easy change reservation times. They are located on the second floor so if you have littles or sore feet from walking, take the elevator! The restrooms are on the 3rd floor. They have a cute fish tank to look at the hostess stand.

Pretty solid choice and a hidden gem out in the open, just across the street from Universal Store City walk on the opposing corner.
The Crab Rangoon Dip is delicious and has real pieces of crab in the dip. The wanton chips are delicious and the sweet chili sauce gives it an extra layer of depth. Brilliant!
The Buffalo Burgushi was pretty interesting choice and fusion food done right. The chicken could've been slightly less dry or maybe slow-cooked in buffalo sauce or something, but it wasn't enough to ruin the good.
And the staff were stellar, even with how busy it was. Bit of a well-oiled machine in the chaos of being at a theme park. Well worth going!
Also reservations are probably needed for tables with how busy it is, but the bar may be open (look for the black seats).

Had a good lunch with families while visiting Universal City. They've a variety of options from salad to sushi. I tried the popper show-stopper. It was delicious, and I took their homemade ranch, which was such a sweet addition. I liked it.
If you're doing a walk-in, make sure you check with the door-person on your wait time because they don't send you a text message as they claim.

Food was ok, service was awesome, the atmosphere was good. For the food, the reason it was just ok is because I went in with high expectations. But the food fell short. We ordered two appetizers they where both delicious. The milk shakes are good as well. But the main course was just disappointing. We all ordered bentobox. The bentobox was not good and for a place called CowFish, you would think that you would see more "Cowfish" in the box. On top of that everything was cold. Ok moving on the the service, everything was good but it felt like my family and I were an after though. Our waiting staff was attentive. But we were put outside no other family was put outside in the rain and being that we were the only black family it made us feel a little awkward. Again the wait staff was amazing it's just that we were placed outside in the rain. Which leads me to the Atmosphere it was cold and rainy. Overall my experience was just ok. I maybe back for more.

We visited this restaurant today for the first time. The food was absolutely incredible! The sushi was better than any place I’ve been to in Florida! Our waitresses name was Laura and she was so attentive, and had the best personality! We will most definitely come back again! ❤️

A Unique Culinary Blend at CityWalk! 🥗🍔🍣 An intriguing mix of concepts and arguably some of the freshest greens you’ll find in all of CityWalk. This spot somehow masters the delicate balance of contrasting food identities, creating a dining experience that feels both unexpected and unforgettable. Cowfish is my favorite restaurant at citywalk HANDS DOWN. While you might have a wait sometimes to get in, it is definitely worth it! This restaurant offers a unique blend of burgers and sushi. Can’t decide on one? You can try both in either their bento boxes or a ‘burgerooshi’ roll. Personally, I have two go-to dishes here. The Dynamic Duo burger (23$) is a beautifully savory burger that also benefits from the slightly sweet taste of the roasted garlic and the onion jam. My other top pick in the unique category would be the all-American Burgerooshi (23$). It’s an interesting blend of that classic burger flavor and some sushi flare. I almost think it tastes kind of like a McDonald’s cheeseburger in the most delightful way possible.
This restaurant is also very well-priced. Myself and my friends were all able to get a very filling lunch for only about 30 dollars a person. This place is heaven for anyone who loves sushi or burgers! Tip: don’t forget to see the fish tank on your way out!

To start there’s no designated person at check in for reservations so, we had to wait on a long line with people who were asking for a table. I had mentioned an allergy when making my reservation and it was never acknowledged by anyone and everything came out of the kitchen covered in sweet chili sauce, the very thing I was allergic to. The burger on the bento box was severely under portioned and overcooked. When the check was presented, a cockroach crawled off of the check and onto my husband’s lap. He brushed it off onto the floor and called the server over to let him know. He just shrugged.

Cool restaurant inside and out. Food was good, but the concept of burgushi was seriously lacking, we ordered the hillbilly BBQ roll, the waygu burger, calamari, crab ragoon dip, and a few other rolls. Everything tastes good, only comment was the rolls were not rolled well they feel apart pretty easily and were difficult to eat. Service was non existent, we maybe got checked on 1-2 times during our entire experience. Ran out of water quickly and didn't get refills until we waved down our server. We were patient with the food which took about 30-45 minutes to come out. This place is pricey for what you get, but it is a good one and done experience.

We were very surprised at the quality of the food. The Boss and Jen were two of the best rolls my family has experienced. My son got the “traditional” combo of a roll and a burger (HA!) and it was perfect. Well executed!

Speed on for lunch after we discovered many places weren't open mid- afternoon and after seeing many great reviews on YouTube. It was almost completely empty, but we were day between 2 uncleared tables (no patrons). We had to all them to be cleared because we could smell it and it just looked gross. We could see staff on cell phones or just chatting in the back. Placed order (our server was friendly and interactive), but it took well over 15 minutes and there were only 4 other tables with people. Our appetizer (sushi) came after the poke bowl and burger were delivered and we had to ask where it was. However, the food itself was very delicious and would be the reason to visit. Just a bit disappointed in the overall experience.

I have been going here for years and have always enjoyed it. The last two times the amount of fish has been lacking but this time it was so ridiculous I had to write a review. The yellow tail was paper thin and the sushi rolls weren’t much better. The kitchen was super slow so no time to order more.

Kayleigh was a fantastic server! The restaurant was busy as we were seated for a 7p reservation, but she made a point to welcome us & mention she would be back soon for drinks. The food was mediocre & I’m not sure I would be knocking the doors down to return to Cowfish. Maybe the food quality is different at a location outside the Universal theme park.

If your looking for a cool concept when visiting City Walk @ Universal Orlando go to The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar. We started with the boozy milkshake & a fig strawberry cocktail! Then moved on to a crab rangoon dip app with wonton chips, followed by a fun take on a bento box.

The patio manager Reedie, was outstanding. During the busiest time of the year New Year’s Eve, she was all over the back patio accommodating clients and families. As busy as it was she managed to prep a table really quick, get us a server, food came out pretty quick and the food was great. While working she was having a good time while helping her staff. Great job hiring a leader that is willing to work hard.

Made a reservation through the universal app under fine look at dining. We ordered food and it was less than edible. Portions were very small, except for the large pile of vinegar cucumber that was not listed anywhere on the menu. Save your money and eat elsewhere plenty of other options.

So, we come to universal a few times a year and always eat here. We typically get sushi but this time we all got burgers. Every single burger was undercooked. Extremely. All burgers were left half touched. My son didn’t take more than 2 bites.. We said something to the waiter, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Just beware that medium well is more of a medium rare. And well done was a medium

It started to rain heavily at around 5, people who got out of the park was either waiting in front of shops, or getting tables n having early dinner. This place was at maybe at 50% occupancy. We were refused seating saying they are full. Though drenched people of other ethnicities were being seated. It was a poor ending to our trip. Had taken takeout previous day, taste was ok, nothing great

Super busy but was able to snag a table on the patio bar. Only had two servers for the whole area and they were super overworked. We had the Boursin bacon burger which was amazing! And pulled pork burgushi which was not so great. It was covered in fried potato shreds so thick you could barely get to the actual food and flavor and texture of the rolls were off puting. Tried to order a milkshake but was told it would take close to an hour so declined. Food took almost an hour to come out as well.

I would have given a 3-4 but when our family got there our reservation was going to be late. I told the lady at the front entrance I was gonna step inside since I had an infant with me that needed to nurse, I was given an very rude loud response and how the rest of my family needed to wait in the line even after I told her we checked in. She got upset so I walked past her to sit down and she got upset. When we were sent a message about our table we went upstairs to the reservation lady and she then got upset and gave us an attitude about how oh it was the wrong text and we would have to wait at the bar or leave and it would be at least 10 more mins. Once we did get a table it took another 10 mins before we met our waiter and was able to order drinks. Once we met our waiter he was wonderful. We got our food and it was okay for the price. It was an okay FOOD experience but the overall was horrible and in my opinion not family friendly. And we will not be returning. Sad cause my husband was so excited about this place especially with it all being our first big family vacation.

Cowfish was a restaurant I've heard a lot about. The reviews are usually very well from my peers.
The inside the decor is very nice and clean interestin layout. The only frustrating part about this layout was it the bathrooms or up stairs. I thought this was a design flaw from an architectural standpoint.
Service felt pretty slow and we are there in the afternoon the restaurant. Pretty empty definitely was not busy. Menu actually has a lot to choose from and almost everything looks and sounds great.
We all got a different plate or meal. The burgers definitely well proportioned properly and very. I would say don't get the bento box, it was mostly beans and not a lot of filling food. Now the cheeseburger sushi roll is way better proportion and way better deal. next time I definitely want to get the sushi Burger.

Went for lunch on last day for Orlando visit. Arrived at 11:40. Our server, Laura, seemed nice and took our order. We waited over 40 min for it to arrive…. One sushi roll and nigiri order and the fusion bento box. Not complicated. When I asked our server how much longer as we needed to leave and catch a flight, I suddenly got attitude and the customer service was garbage from there. Ten more min before food arrived, and when it did she was busy talking to the other table while serving us. Please take note, I’ve worked customer service my entire life, the one thing a customer deserves when being served is attention and that often demands eye contact. Not giving eye contact when serving someone is the rudest thing IMO. The table beside us got great customer service. She checked on them frequently and continued to ignore us. Eventually, when I asked for the bill she took her time bringing it to us, and dropped it on the table, still made no eye contact, and said “whenever you’re ready…”. And proceeded to walk away and ignore me again. At this point I got up to ask the concierge if I could pay because I needed to leave. Absolutely not impressed.
Food was disappointing. Sweet potato fries were over done. The maki roll I got… Mark’s roll, was meh. When you’re gonna have “passable” food, your customers better be treated with respect and kindly. I’ve never been treated so rudely by wait staff for asking a question about wait time.

We ate here on Friday night and loved it so much that we booked to go back on Saturday too! The burgers and sushi are great and the service was too (Brandeis and Haruka!). Seems like reservations are essential though.
Much better than any food in the parks and not much more expensive - good value!

It was a cold night when we ate there and apparently they don’t turn the heat on because it was 62 degrees in the restaurant(there was a thermostat right next to our table). Our food was luke warm when it got to the table and in 3 min completely cold. Service wasn’t great either.

The service is terrible, the food was good. We had reservations for 7:30, didn't get seated until half an hour later. No one took our frink order until like 20 minutes later, waited for our food for about an hour. There were about 5 managers standing around. Oh, but they sure got the 18 percent tip. Crazy!!! I would not go back.

Awful! Don't waste your money!
We were eager to eat here last night after reading good reviews. It was my son's 11th birthday and we'd spent the day at Universal. We had a reservation we'll in advance. The server was very friendly and pleasant, so I don't blame her, but it took us well over an hour from the time we ordered to get our food. We were all tired and out 4 kids were starving and impatient. The food was gross. Probably the worst sushi I've ever had. The burgers in the bento boxes are a joke. Our bill was $154 plus tip. There was no concession made for the ridiculously long wait, even though I could tell the server felt really bad about it. We didn't complain, because we didn't want it to reflect poorly on her, and we could tell it was taking a long time for everyone's food.
Never again. In fact, I cancelled dinner reservations for the following days of our trip at other CityWalk restaurants because I didn't want a repeat of this experience.
Visited 2 months ago
We waited an entire hour for our food, including a kids’ meal, which is unacceptable, especially considering it was already late (around 8:30 PM). When the food finally arrived, it was cold, tasteless, looking like a leftovers. The kids’ meal fries were served cold, which is simply unacceptable. The waitress followed up after 45 minutes, but her update of “10 more minutes” didn’t really help. What stood out most was how little consideration seemed to be given to serving the kids’ meal promptly. After a long day, children are tired and should not have to wait this long for a simple meal. We were initially excited due to the atmosphere and setting at Universal Studios, which did help the wait seem less painful. I’m not one to leave dramatic reviews, but this level of neglect - especially when it comes to kids - deserves to be called out.

We had a reservation at 4pm on November 21st, we arrived about 40 minutes early since the park was empty and city walk also was not busy, we let the hostess know we were very early and she told us to go upstairs. We were seated immediately but our waitress around 3:30-4pm on Thursday, November 21st in the seating next to the second floor bar seating seemed to not care much about providing good service. She took our drink order, two Coke zeros and two waters for my spouse and I and an apple juice for our son. She repeated the order then came back with 1 water and 1 Coke Zero. We put our order in which we had to repeat several times despite there being less than 10 people in the entire area we were in. The crab ragoon dip tasted a little off from usual, then came the burgeroshi which the bacon was very burnt and didn’t taste great. We also got a rice crispy treat milkshake to share which taste very strange. We didn’t think much of it an after all the errors including our sons apples and carrots which was even shown on the receipt as such being oranges and carrots we carried on with the meal. It as less than 1hr after the meal that I started feeling ill, bloated, bad stomach cramps. We had 3 more hours in the park and that was quickly cancelled as my husband made his way with our 6 year old to first aid to get anything to help with what I was experiencing. After spending another 1 to 1 1/2 hrs inside islands of adventure sitting near a bathroom waiting to feel any better to be able to catch the boat back to the resort, I finally was able to make the walk. Thankfully the boat was just getting ready to leave or I don’t think I would have made it. I have never felt so ill at universal studios and it took most of the next day to get over feeling absolutely terrible. I slept most of the next day and missed yet more time in the park and of our vacation. Unfortunately cowfish has been a favorite of ours but after that I cannot recommend it, I can just be thankful my husband and son didn’t eat the same things and get ill.

Took my son here for his birthday and wanted the staff to sing him happy birthday like they had another guest. When they came over, no one was smiling and they sung through whatever they did so quickly that by the time I pulled my phone to take a pic of what I was hoping would be him smiling and feeling special for his birthday, they were finished - then, they just walked away. There was no extra happy birthdays wishes or smiles or anything… it was actually really awkward and made for a less than pleasant birthday experience.

You can tell a A great sushi restaurant especially at higher end of the price spectrum is by tasting it's wasabi. Unfortunately this none missed the mark. The wasabi taste more horseradish. Their fancy sushi roll is American invention and the rice is not compacted enough. The burger bento box is full of filler such as fries, edamame and pickled.. The burger itself is very dry. And the sushi that come with the bento box is sufficient. The service is great though and friendly staff.

Unimpressed. The good was the tuna and crab “nachos”. It was different and super delicious. We got the Wagu burger and it was overcooked and dry. What a waste of money. I have had better burgers at 5 guys. It was also weird that we had two waiters going between us and several other tables. They were nice, so it was okay. Also to note, I did not find the atmosphere anything special. It was also very cold in there with no heat even though it was 55 degrees outside. Maybe we got a bad night.

The food sucked. My portion was small; it is overpriced and those things can be overlooked if the food is good, but it sucked. They screwed up my order (putting onion and pickle on my burger when i said no to both). Fries were just nasty and the sushi was the lowest quality, worst prepared ive ever had. I love spicy tuna but this place failed me in that regard and coupled with messing up my order that is unforgiveable. The one pro? The calamari was fantastic.

We waited nearly an hour for our food, it was cold when served and one of the items was just bad tasting. Our fault for ordering it. Our waitress never came to us beyond taking our order and delivering water, until we called her over to ask for the bill. I felt like a second class citizen watching others that got seated after us get their food and even pay before we received our food. I used to think this place was great. But obviously I was mistaken and felt like I was scammed paying over $90 for our food

I can only start off by saying how disappointed I was. I ordered a soda water and cranberry juice the waitress brings 3/4 glass of soda water and a small glass of cranberry juice and I asked why is this separate she replied that's how it comes we don't mix it for you. I have never seen this before in my life. I ordered a California roll as an appetizer and a burger. It was 30 minutes until the California roll showed up and the burger was 25 minutes later. The sushi was good but the burger was very greasy and flavorless. If you are trying to get a reasonably quick lunch and head tho the parks skip this place. I will next time. As for the management that seems to respond to all reviews one word of advice do better. False promises to document these complaints are not working as you can see by all the bad reviews that continue to plague this restaurant .

What a let down. I think I’ve visited all the restaurants in City Walk and they all are expensive tourist traps. Last time I visited the Cowfish the food was actually decent. Not this time. Given the location I’d have expected consistency. I think with the concentration of tourists there is no motivation to improve these places. Such a shame I have to drive offsite for a quality meal that doesn’t cost and arm and leg.

Cute place to grab a quick bite to eat. Menu offered sushi and burgers. The sliders have gotten a bit smaller than what it used to be but still delicious. Not pictured here, but the crab ragoon dip appetizer is really good and highly recommended. I usually go for a bento box since it offers a bit of both worlds (sushi and slider). The calamari was good but there were some pieces that were extremely salty.

3rd time coming here and can't wait for the 4th. Food was excellent and our waiter was the best (I think his name was Ty?). We brought friends this time and they said it was the best meal from the trip.

This place has no idea what a reservation means. Waitress did her best to make upmfir the front of house failures. I'm picky about my sushi. With that being said, the sushi was mostly good without having high quality ingredients. Recommend the filet roll and tropical storm. Skip the Marco. Old fashion was excellent. Interesting options for kids with bento boxes, PB&J sushi and milkshakes. Wish this location had one of the crazy handmade fishtanks I have seen at other locations. Overall positive experience once we got in the door.

We ordered chicken sandwich, heavenly veggie and kids mac n cheese. The food was nice. I would give 3.5 stars to this restaurant actually.

Avoid this place at all costs. Sushi is premade! Rice is mushy and fish is not fresh. Burgers come out like burnt hockey pucks. Sent back and come back the same way. At $20 a plate you could definitely eat somewhere much better. I can't believe all of these people would lie in their reviews and say that this place is good! Maybe they were just overtired after being at the theme parks all day?!

Didn’t enjoy our dinner at Cowfish with the exception of the Brussel sprout appetizer and the milk shake. Burger was tasteless and dry , sushi had very little flavor , edamame dry and no flavor . Everyone at our table agreed the food was subpar. The table we sat at was very uncomfortable. We were 6 people squeezed into a round high top with no elbow room. Very disappointing experience .

The most horrible place we ever visited on our trip to Universal
Nothing was edible, dishes were served extremely slowly, we waited 50 minutes between dishes to receive only HALF of what we ordered, two entrees never even arrived.
Eventually we had to leave and got charged for the meal we never got
We then waited another 20 min to correct the bill. From what we did eat, everyone got sick to the stomach when we came home to the hotel.
$20+ for one sad slider and four measly pieces of sushi in a bento box padded with a ridiculous mountain of edamame, and 10 sweet potato fries. You also get a very weak cucumber salad. A real bento box has a lot more substance, and is more filling for a better price.
For having such a standout gimmick this restaraunt can’t seem to commit to actually feeding you a real burger and a good roll of sushi in their recommended “burgushi” option.
The evening was totally spoiled.
Tourist trap, small portions and unjustifiable price.

Restaurant was overbooked and had to wait an extra 30 minutes for our reservation. Got seated outside with a wobbly table, incredibly loud music and kids playing loudly all around us. I did say when I checked in that I did not mind being outside, but would have expected to be a heads up of what outside meant.
If you go, ask for an inside table!
We left after a few minutes and had a nice (cheaper) pizza in the place next door.

Food was good, really liked the bulrussel sprouts for apps! Yes it's more expensive than it should be, but I mean... it is universal, so...
However, the thing I like most about this place is the service. My brother is picky and had a lot of questions. The waitress was patient and helped out as best she could all while training additional staff. Also, making a reservation on the universal app is super easy (also eSy to change the time if need be and if there are enough times) and they're very accommodating.

Our server was Perfect! The nicest person. So attentive and helpful. She always checked on us. She does a wonderful job. A manager (Lisa) stopped by and she was just as sweet.
I would definitely recommend the service here.. and the food and atmosphere... you won't be disappointed! I would give them 5 stars!

Really disappointing meal. It was so cold on the top floor me and my mum were both shivering the whole meal, we put our coats on to keep us warm.
We were seated by the restroom/stairs, a customer threw up on the floor next to us and as there was no divider between food and bathrooms my mum saw it as she was eating (obviously not the fault of anyone there) however the waiting staff were making a big deal of it in front of us and we had to pull the manager aside 5 minutes after it happened to ask if we could be moved away as we were currently eating.
Food arrived and was cold, milkshake also arrived with it 20+ minutes after I ordered it, but appetites were already lost. The bartender/server (I believe his name was Frank) was the only highlight of the night and provided actual service to us. He was asked why we were moved and when my mum didn't finish her food he asked why and he called for a manager to come comp her meal as naturally she wasn't going to eat after watching someone vomit. The manager from earlier who moved us came up and was clueless and didn't tell us it was comped, just asked if we wanted a box, we were talking to Frank confused and he had to be the one to share it had been comped. Not one to complain but I genuinely think management could have dealt with the whole thing so much better. Not planning on returning sadly

This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. The service is impeccable, and the food is beyond amazing. I very much recommend the Royal burger. It is very juicy and flavorful. This burger is one of the best I have ever indulged in. The appetizers are also scrumptious. I recommend the calamari!
Cowfish is an amazing restaurant and I do recommend it to those who are in the area.

We were sat on the third level which didn't have much going on and lost a lot of the ambience of the place. Not to mention, you have to travel on 2 separate elevators to get there. We were told by the first floor to talk to the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor told us to go see the third floor. Where's the communication?
Beyond that, our server was NOT vegan trained. We asked simple questions and she kept saying this is our vegetarian options, which is not the same thing and we had to guess as to what to eat for our Vegan family member.
Never offered to have a manager or a chef come talk to us, it didn't seem like a priority under any circumstance to ensure we had a good dining experience.
This place is NOT vegan friendly and until every single one of your servers understands vegan requirements and can talk about the menu with authority, I will not be returning. I'm sure the food is fantastic but when I don't know what I'm gonna get, I can't taste it.
On one plus side, the pickle chips were good.
For my vegan friends, go get the Beyond Smokehouse at NBC. Incredible.

The actual food was delicious and the server was very nice. The Cheesburgerooshi was very good. The host at the front told us without reservations we'd have to wait ~3hours so we made reservations online for 30minutes later with was very annoying. Also had to step over a huge puddle of spilled soda to get to our table next to the drink station that nobody cared enough to clean the entire time.

It's expected just like every single venue in CityWalk. It's horrible service with less than mediocre food. Every entree dish that was served to us was overcooked. It took an hour and a half from sit down to food in front of me. This is all of CityWalk. Workers do not care about the product they provide. The company does not care about the quality they provide. It's just a complete meltdown from what it use to be. Take your dollars elsewhere. Go visit the mouse ears and see what real quality is. See who cares more about service.

We ate here for lunch, and our server Jordan went above and beyond. She accommodated our requests and even pulled out a last-minute order of Crab Rangoon dip when our oldest child insisted she was still hungry.
Jordan MADE our Universal experience today. This kind of hospitality is hard to find, and I’m so impressed that we found it.

Will not be returning. Waited 40 mins for food that they gave to the wrong table. Then didn’t have the courage to tell us they made a mistake had to ask the manager. Left without food just wasted time and still hungry. Terrible service.

The service was bad, it wasn't about the server but in general.
Our server took the order at 2:35, and we didn't get the food by 3:00 which was already been 25 minutes.
I asked the manager where was our food and I told her “It's been 25 minutes” and she said “25 minutes is the NORMAL waiting time” very mind blown when I heard that sentence from a manager.
The food came and it tasted like the food was not served fresh from the grill. It tasted like sitting in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes.
THEY CLEAN THE TABLE FASTER THAN SERVING THE FOODS.

Lunch reservation on a Friday. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and the food ticket took over an hour to get food. Don’t come here if you want to do anything else that day…

As a sushi lover, this is a must stop place for me anytime I’m at city walk.
Usually I just get one sushi roll, but this time I tried something a little different, someone that doesn’t know what they want to eat, the fusion specialty bento box that gives you a little bit of everything is AMAZING! I got a small slider, sushi, edamame, fries & cucumbers and the price for the amount of food you get is super fair.
If you’re craving sushi and have people with you that aren’t fans of sushi, that’s ok! There are SO many other options to choose from.
Our server was Jordan and she was super attentive and sweet!

Food poison from the salmon sashimi, not even an apology or a follow up call to check if we were ok after we reported it. Avoid.

I'm a local and go often. I always have the same thing. Fried pickes and the cheeseburger burgushi. The last time I went, the fried pickles were very soggy and oilly. The burgushi was also very oily and soggy. Usually, both of these items are crispy and have been drained and fried properly. I was disappointed. Also, the bar used to have screens that looked like it was an aquarium. Those are now just covered up with signs for some lame reason.

Came in at 7:30 and was sat right away although it was patio seating. The fans were wonderful and we were not uncomfortable or hot at all. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu and all the food was delicious! Definitely the perfect dinner to end a super fun day at universal so we were super happy this is where we chose to have dinner!

This was our second time here and 5th for the other people in our group.
I only tried the salad and poke bowl - really enjoyed both! Our group all had burgers, and they were decent for the most part, but my husband's chicken was really dry.
The sweet potato fries were very tasty, we subbed one in the burgers and also ordered as a side. The side order was $7 and was smaller than the portion that came with the burger.

I came here with my friends and personally, the food felt cheap for the price. A lot of my friends complained about this as well. On top of that, our food took extremely long to come out. Understandably, it’s Labor Day and we had a big party but we waited nearly an hour for our food. As for the atmosphere, we were sat outside so there isn't much to say, just the sights of Universal City Walk. We all agreed that we wouldn't come back here because the quality of the food just doesn't match the price. I would say though still give it a try… maybe we just didn't get the right things :/

Can't recommend this place enough. It's a strange concept to combine sushi and burgers, but it worked out. The food was top notch and they give you your money's worth in the portions. Certainly as much or more than if you went to dine inside Universal Studios itself.

Cowfish is a unique and delightful dining experience that combines the best of sushi and burgers into one amazing meal. The menu is creative, offering something for everyone, from sushi lovers to burger enthusiasts. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We had relatively high expectations of Cowfish, that it was one of the go-to restaurants of CityWalk. The interior has some interesting art that blends American and Japanese styling, but outside of this the place comes across a little basic and like a canteen. The dishes served were mall food quality with a reheated texture. In addition the service felt very pressured, pressing us to make a decision and take the plates away (literally whilst we were still chewing). Before we had a moment to even think about the food a bill was slid beneath our chin. The total was around $100 for three entrees and an app - which felt like a lot for the quality. Overall we were disappointed with the food and combination of surroundings and service. We would not recommend this location.

I visited Cowfish restaurant with my family. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by poor service and food poisoning. Here's what happened:
We waited almost an hour to be served, which should have been a red flag. I had considered leaving after 50 minutes, but decided to give it a chance because my children were hungry and all the other restaurants that I liked, opened at 4pm.
When our food finally arrived, my son order was nuggets and fries from the kids' menu, my daughter had fries and sesame chicken bites (which I now warn others about), and I had Dion's OMG rolls. Within 5 minutes of eating, my son became lethargic and started vomiting his fries. He has no medical issues, so this was alarming.
I immediately requested the bill, but the waitress told me to wait as she served a whole big party of 8 that was sitting behind us. Meanwhile, my stomach started turning into knots, and I knew I had to leave. I informed the waitress that my son was vomiting and that I needed to leave, but she seemed unconcerned eventhough my son's vomit was clearly visible on his shirt leaving no doubt about the severity of his distress.
To make matters worse, my daughter who had eaten the sesame chicken bites and fries also started vomiting. I quickly paid $100 to the host at the front desk, I couldnt wait any longer for the waitress to return. She didn't check in and I even wanted some more water to calm our upset stomach but she was no where to be found. I grabbed the stroller and left the receipt and change behind at front desk.($15 indirect tip from a $100) I didn't feel that the service deserved a tip, especially since the waitress had shown no compassion despite witnessing our distress and she didn't really attend to us.
We left the restaurant feeling ill and disappointed, and our Universal family trip was ruined spending the remainder of the day confined to our Resort's bathroom trying to recover from the food poisoning. I hope this review serves as a warning to others about the potential risks of eating at Cowfish. Our experience was a nightmare.

I have to eat here every time I come to Universal. It's the 2nd best restaurant on property (Mythos is #1). The wait times do suck here. I think they only have one kitchen?! The bartenders are pretty cool. This guy Mark made us some great drinks and helped the time pass. We now go to Mark or Chris every time.
Update*
Mark left, now we need another go to crew at the Cowfish bar. Frank seems to be carrying the torch now. The rest of the team is mid. Sorry to put you on Frank, my family loves your service!

My family has made The Cowfish a regular stop each time we've visited the Universal parks and Volcano Bay, and every time it's been a slam dunk! No trip to CityWalk would be complete without their Blackened Tuna Nachos or sweet potato fries, and their Georgia Roll is my favorite sushi roll in Orlando. The funky atmosphere inside and the beautiful bar area are super unique and make coming here even more special.
The only area I've consistently noticed could use improvement would be some benches or a seating area inside the restaurant after you check in for a reservation and are waiting to be seated (if it's a busy night and takes some time to get a table, there is nowhere to sit and we are constantly having to duck out of servers' way to avoid a collision!). Other than that, service has consistently been great and any wrong orders/issues with food could always be quickly resolved (our most recent server was Paige and she did an amazing job!). All in all, a stellar experience each and every visit.

Waited 35 minutes and was never even greeted. Told the host twice that we hadn't been served and still nothing. I'm quite disappointed. Definitely expect better from a Universal Property. Worst dining experience we have had in Orlando, and I've lived here my whole life.

I'll never go back. My friend and I sat at the outside bar. Our waitress came over and said she would bring is water. 15 mins go by and NOTHING. My friend calls the restaurant (yes while we sat there) to tell them we were waiting and they said they have no way to communicate to the outside👀 and to go talk to the hostess. My friend went and told her we have yet to get drinks. Our waitress finally comes over and we order our drinks and our food. They came out in a timely manner BUT the alcoholic drink (pineapple queen) was gross and didn't have any flavor to the extent I was adding oranges to it and both of our fries and slider were cold. The ONLY fun part about this experience is watching people take pictures with the Bob Marley across from us.

I had to stop by when I saw on the menu that they had a burger sushi roll (I love burgers and I love sushi). It did not disappoint and would go back just for that! It was so good, well seasoned and textured. My only critiques were the price and the size. The rest of the Japanese rolls were average and over priced. The tenders and salad were ok, but overpriced as well. The house old fashion, called buffalos & bacon was tasty and unique - in a great way. I discovered that I really enjoyed candied bacon!
It was challenging getting in. At first we were told we couldn’t dine in because we didn’t have reservations. So we went upstairs (in the back of the building so to speak) where the amazing bartender told us to grab a table anywhere. The service was great and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

An impressively disappointing restaurant. I will say every aspect of this restaurant was poor on our most recent visit, after much excitement to come here.
The service is laughable, my party had a special situation where we paid early and I think because they were already paid, we basically got 0 help the rest of the night. Gave good tips too, unfortunately. After our reservation was apparently not good enough as we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get a table, we waited AN HOUR TO RECEIVE FOOD. Wow. We would have left if we hadn’t already paid.
The food is so average, too. For a restaurant specializing in burgers and sushi, neither are above average. Didn’t even eat half of my burger because I would prefer fast food at that point. Nothing more to say on that.
The atmosphere was a crowded theme park setting, with the restaurant’s age showing. I thought CityWalk had better options, but this restaurant is just another money grab. I wouldn’t recommend going here.

It's funny reading people waited long to be seated, because we walked up and sat right down. This restaurant came HIGHLY recommended from many people I know who are local. And I heard Burger sushi and had to go. Our server Joel was FANTASTIC and explained everything so well. He had a lot of tables inside and out, but kept up well. My only ONLY issue was, they definitely need a bathroom on the floor we were on. It seemed odd to be seated SO far away from the bathroom. After a long day of walking, one on each floor would be helpful. 100% recommend the burger sushi.

Great place to eat. Visited 2 time snow on different trips and had good experiences both times. The burgers and cocktails are delicious and very well priced. The service was also very good.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat on city walk this is definitely a good place to try.

Visited for the first time, and on our last day of our Universal trip.
Wish we had come sooner, as it was by far the nicest food we had during our whole trip. 🙂
We had a little mishap with my dish, resolved quickly and addressed by the manager promptly. Unexpected. As it was not a big deal in our minds.
However, having been in the hospitality business before ourselves, we truly appreciated it! So thank you.
My husband and boys all had burgers of different kinds, and raved about them all. Cooked to perfection and as ordered. 👍🏼
Tristan our server/waiter was excellent and very friendly. Not only with regards to the food order, but also in reference to other facilities available around the area. Thank you. 🤩
We will definitely recommend to others visiting.

We stopped in for lunch on the fourth of July as we walked around Citywalk. It wasn't busy for us at all--people not there for the holiday or all in the park maybe. The menu is so interesting as it balances American food with sushi. My friend had a bento box with a slider and a sushi roll. I had a buffalo chicken sushi roll. And my 6 year old daughter had a kids bento box. The food was good and filling. The service was a tad slow as we spent a while waiting for our food and check but not unbearable!

This is one of the better bang for your buck places at Universal in my opinion. The food is pretty good you get more of it than at some other restaurants.
The only issue I have had is that it is pretty slow - likely because they are always pretty packed.
Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice place to eat.

Cowfish is always consistent and delicious! Makes both fish lovers and meat lovers happy! My all-time favorite is the Tuna-tini appetizer!! I’ve been coming to CowFish since 2016 with my family, we always make it a point to stop there when we travel to Universal. But yesterday, we had our 1st bad experience with horrendous service there. Our bartender (Anthony) was incredibly rude and unprofessional to us. Treated us like we were an inconvenience to him anytime we asked for something. Since we were a party of 6 they put a mandatory 18% tip on our bill (he didn’t deserve any part of that). We’ll definitely go back for the incredible sushi and tuna-tini appetizer …just making sure Anthony won’t be the one serving us.
