My experience was really bad, the food tasted stale and there weren't a lot of options. They only came to take our plates once every 15 minutes, and still charged us a 15% tip. On the topic of tips, they had the tip in the price without asking us what amount to pay. The eating area was stinky with a bathroom smell, and the food was dimly lit with lightbulbs. Don't come here.

DO NOT GO!! I was really disappointed with my experience here. The food was not tasty at all, and for the price, I expected much better quality. The management was also quite rude. The place was dirty. To top it off, they automatically added a 15% gratuity to the bill, which felt undeserved given the poor service and attitude. The older lady at the front counter with the nasty attitude should have been the first indication to stay away. But after walking around we just wanted a take out dinner to take to the hotel. If the food was outstanding and she was feeling herself I would have understood. This b.s they serving people should be considered dog food. Lo mein had no taste. Same for the fried rice and the general tsos chicken was stringy and soggy almost. I was so disappointed I just threw the rest away. Save your time and money. Find another establishment worthy of your hard earned money.

I recently had the chance to dine at the Mei Asian Buffet and I have to say, I was quite disappointed with my experience there. While the food selection was decent, the restaurant's tipping policy and the server's attitude left a bad taste in my mouth.

When the bill arrived, I was shocked to see that a 15% "gratuity" charge had been automatically added, without any input from me. As a customer, I believe that tipping should be a voluntary gesture that reflects the quality of service received, not a mandatory fee. The server also seemed indifferent and rushed throughout the meal, which further soured my experience.

I understand that tipping is customary in the restaurant industry, but the Mei Asian Buffet's policy of pre-determining the tip amount is, in my opinion, quite heavy-handed. It takes away my ability as a diner to reward good service with a higher tip, or to express dissatisfaction with subpar service by tipping less.

When I attempted to discuss this with the manager, they were unapologetic and insisted that the 15% gratuity was standard practice. I found this response to be quite disappointing and unwilling to consider the customer's perspective.

Overall, my experience at the Mei Asian Buffet was soured by their inflexible tipping policy and the server's indifferent attitude. I would caution other diners to be aware of this practice before dining there, and to be prepared to push back if an automatic gratuity is added to their bill without their consent. I recently visited the Mei Asian Buffet in Orlando, and while the food was decent, I was quite disappointed with their service practices. Upon receiving my bill, I noticed an automatic 15% "gratuity" charge had been added, without any prior discussion or consent from me.
This type of mandatory tipping policy is quite concerning, as it removes the customer's ability to provide a gratuity that reflects the actual quality of service received. In my case, the service was fairly average, certainly not deserving of an automatic 15% tip.
When I brought this issue up with the manager, they were unapologetic and insisted the gratuity charge was standard policy. I respectfully disagree with this practice, as it unfairly forces customers to pay a predetermined tip, regardless of their satisfaction.
While the food at Mei Asian Buffet was passable, their heavy-handed approach to tipping has left a sour taste. I would caution other diners to be aware of this policy before dining here, and to push back if an automatic gratuity is added without their approval. A customer's tip should be a voluntary expression of gratitude, not a mandatory fee.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Mei Asian Buffet due to their questionable service policies. There are many other dining options in the Orlando area that provide a more customer-friendly experience.

This means you don't have to pay the auto tip. They attach to your bill. Bottom line, if it's not posted on the menu, it illegal to add it. 😎😁

I guess refilling my soda, and taking my plates from the table and serving myself from the buffet constitutes a gratuity of 15% automatically added to my already $19.95 + $2.95 soda bill for a total of $28.05 bill including taxes.
BTW there's nothing super special about this Chinese buffet.

Our party of 3 arrived to a very underwhelming welcome which was followed by very underwhelming cold food. Whilst it all looked like it was steaming hot in the bin Marie’s the food itself was stale, cold and in my opinion abysmal. A waste of nearly $100. We sampled, paid and left within 15 minutes. Unlike me we decided not to react as our time was far more valuable than wasting it arguing.

Walked in today at noon for lunch and nobody was in the building, that should have been the first red flag. the place looks really awful very out dated and dirty.
The buffet is set up nice, but the food was ice cold and extremely salty, service non existent, and was greeted with nothing but attitudes. Over charged me and added automatic gratuity on top of everything. Left worrying now that we will get sick from food not being at proper temps. Very unsatisfactory and don’t see this location lasting long.

Stopped here for lunch on my way out of Orlando, The food was mediocre. The flavors just weren’t good. But the biggest problem I had was when they added a gratuity onto my check. It was only myself and one other person, and there is no warning they would be adding a gratuity. I went to the counter and asked them to take it off as they did but beware because more than likely, your check will have this without your knowledge.

This was the closest Chinese buffet to our location at the time. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews. We tried half the items on the buffet. We really thought we'd be getting hot food based upon the heat coming in off the area where the food spoons were. Unfortunately all of our food was cold and lukewarm. Some fresh food was starting to come out after we had finished. Service was mediocre, other guests kept having to find someone for help. Didn't like the auto gratuity added to the bill. Based on the service I probably would have really had to think hard on leaving anything. We won't return

Staff are absolutely shocking...I mean SHOCKING! I was "greeted" with a grimace and a frown with no words uttered. I was given the all important fork.....guard this with your life! If you ask for another....the stare of "that woman" will banish you to the depths of shame. The idiots give you small plates with virtually no room for anything. The food however was excellent with plenty of choice. I especially loved the teppanyaki....though you get "the look" if you go more than once. There is no need to tip this guy as you pay enough to eat there so I don't recommend doing that. The real horror came when I asked them to order a taxi for me to go back to my hotel......they flatly refused, leaving me stranded. In my experience, people from Asia are generally superb, hospitable and extremely accommodating/helpful. However, NOT this place. Avoid!!!!

Aunque la comida es buena y de calidad, noté que no tiene tanta variedad como otros buffets, especialmente en cuanto a platillos. I was visting florida with my two kids and we were very hungry so we found this buffet and we were very disatisfied and disgusted. First of all, the bathroom was DISGUSTING and very dirty. The food was very nasty, cold and overcooked. The waitress did not check on us or ask how we were doing. She grabbed my plate before I was even done eating. It was the worst food i have ever had in my life!! Then my kids had stomach aches for the rest of the night my oldest daughter almost THREW UP! Even the dessert was NASTY. How do you mess up DESSERT?I did not enjoy any of the food at all! They charged us gratuity. I had two kids with me and she didn’t even ask their ages but charged us as three adults! The bill was almost one hundred dollars. She never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks. We will make sure we NEVER come back to this HORRIBLE restaurant again!

No need for photos because it was just flat out disappointing. $20 a person for this dinner buffet was WAY overpriced. I had so many things on my plate that were cold when I got to the table (crabmeat and cheese, curry chicken, the chicken and broccoli, the fish) salad was practically nonexistent. The chicken on a stick I couldn't even bite into. This was extremely disappointing to a family coming in hungry from being at Universal all day. Oh and the unsweet tea tasted about a month old, it was horrible. The napkin holder was filthy and covered with a white powdered residue, the bathroom was old, dirty and had no soap. On top of everything they added an 18% gratuity onto our bill without even blinking. Our server was ok but she only came to our table once. The other time I had to chase her and another server down who just ignored me. Horrible experience, hopefully they can turn this place around asap!

This place sucks🤮, first of all when my family got there they don’t charge you they take you to your seats which we didn’t know why at first but, it is because they charge $18 as a tip. The workers just come up to you and ask for your drinks and don’t give refills and just ask if everything is good after 20 minutes and leave. Even for drinks all of them cost $3 which is outrageous, because even the water is almost $3. The food there is store bought or just the quality is very bad, because almost everything is gross or makes you feel sick, there food that you can tell is store bought they cut it in half. The desserts are very dry and the seafood looks like it has been in the water since they opened the store. Some of the plates are dirty and/or wet. The restrooms are straight up disgusting to be in. After all that the total is $140.25, like what? The food is gross and cold, restrooms are filthy, workers put a $18 tip, they food is also mostly store bought or bad quality so why is $140.25. This place is horrible and I will never go or want to go to this place.

This place was TERRIBLE! For starters, the place is dirty. the tables, chairs, even the high chairs are sticky. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING, me being 7 months pregnant, I decided to just hold it because it was that nasty. My husband however used the facilities as he didn't have to sit down. The food options were minimal. They had more desserts, and non Chinese food options than anything else. For a Chinese Buffet, you would think you would have Chinese food options as well. There were two things that were edible here, The apple pie, and the chicken and broccoli. The problem was, the chicken and broccoli was empty the entire time we were here, I waited over an hour for it to be replenished. I asked the waitress, she finally had someone stock it, but by then we were leaving. and were charged 15 dollars for eating an apple pie with a coke.
We tried other foods, there were some that were cross contaminated with fish, so while trying a piece of chicken, all you tasted was fish, now I love fish, but that was gross! I asked for lemon for my water, the only lemon they would give me was that that was sitting right next to the shrimp. I watched people drop shrimp into the lemon plate, am I supposed to put that in my water? What if someone were to have an allergy? Then, to top it all off, while sitting there waiting for the chicken and broccoli to come out, this man that worked in the back also came out taking several breaks,(that is not my business,) what is my business is watching him eat off of the buffet line using his hands, shoving food in his mouth , wiping his hands on his bum and then continuing on. why wouldnt he just grab a plate,? It was disgusting! I seriously am thinking of contacting the food inspectors on this place, it is dirty and unhealthy. please avoid it at all cost! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

They say “$9 per kid under the age of 13” both kids are under 13 but yet they say that they had to charge an adult price because they go by hight not age… plus they tip them self automatically and they honestly don’t deserve a tip… especially $15… i won’t be coming back. Came out of town from NC. Waitress was very rude from the beginning of entering the restaurant. We all were going to eat crablegs and we were told by the same waitress to share 2 crab leg crackers for four people even tho were weee all planning to get crabs $10 extra so why share. She made a smart remark about us drinking water like we were being cheap, in all reality we wanted to stay dehydrated once we left the restaurant to adventure the ICON Park. Another guest and I decided not to eat the crab legs. She tried to tell us since she tried her husbands crab we would have to pay for 3 plates. She treated no other guest in the establishment this way. The worst service ever. Never coming back

Remember to keep your tone professional and avoid being rude and mean. This experience was the absolute worst EVER! Shoulve go based on the 3.2 ratings it's is really a 2.8 some food was decent some food wasn't. Plates were all weet. Really uncomfortable. Was never really served anything and was charged gratuity anyways. Also did not see any steak and it was dinner. Definitely first and last.

Thought I’d try a new place. The service was ok, they didn’t come by once while I was eating when did were nice. The food was good, a lot of selections, but nothing that stood out to make me return. Very little sushi, the egg rolls not much filling, dumplings bland, but the barbecue style pork patties were good. Apple pie dessert tasted good but did find a small piece of tin foil inside it.
Didn’t like the tip already included being I like to decide that myself on service and food. Single adult with soda was $19.48. Doubt I’ll go back in a while.

I'm only going to give this location a 2 star because although it was good it made all three of us in the party sick! Within 20 minutes we all had to rush to the restroom (which was impossible to find hiding in a corner around a weird partition)
Our server never once checked on us, never once refilled our drinks, but yet we still were charged an automatic 15% tip! It was outrageous. But on top of it all the kids rates stop at 9 years old and are then charged as adults but none of the rates were advertised and there was no signs staying this.
Honestly with how many restaurants in this little corner I'm surprised anyone will eat here. Beware customers you may also need to rush home right after to continue to relieve yourself a second or third time as well, Not Worth It!

It is a good place to eat. The food is very good. The price is great 19.95 per person. If whoever wants to eat Snow Crab Legs, then pay an extra 5$ for each person. But the meat of the snow crab is very good. The place has free parking away 5 minutes walk. Have a lot of activities besides the restaurants. Just watch out on the bill. The tip is ready included. You don't need to give extra. Because some tourists from Europe and Asia didn't tip, the owner included the tip to the bill.

The restaurant seems well maintained, buffet is organized good, there are many options for meat lovers and barely any options for any one who doesn’t eat meat, for vegetarians there are salads which doesn’t taste any good and fruits some of which are fresh and some of them are stale.

Priced decently for the options provided, but quality of the food and desserts are just average.

Service is non existent, servers and staff can barely speak English which adds to the frustration. Also just as a disclaimer Egg rolls have pork in them.

3/7/24 -AWFUL! My teenage son & I decided to dine here while visiting International Drive attractions because none of the ICON area carts/restaurants had opened yet and we were ready for lunch. We asked to take a look at the buffet before deciding to dine because I have an extremely picky eater. It looked okay, so we were seated by the gentleman at the front counter.

The food was horrible! Although the restaurant had literally just opened for lunch (around 11:30 am), the food was barely warm and tasted old. Seemed to have been leftovers from another day. The staff was mediocre, at best. The facility was in need of a good cleaning and updating. And the cost for the two of us was $35.34! A mistake I will never make again.

This was one of the few places that was open in the area when we ran to lunch around 1130.

When we walked in, we were really surprised with the large options within the buffet . We really struggled, speaking with our waiter in regards to a scenario that unfortunately happened . While we were eating dinner, their electronic card system went down and we did not have any other means to pay for dinner. Our total was around $35 and all we had was a 20 on us. We had walked about 30 minutes to this restaurant while we were shopping. We had asked the restaurant waiter, and the owner if there was any local ATMs that were by the restaurant so we could run to the ATM and withdraw more cash.

Unfortunately, they had no idea. There was absolutely no customer service recovery, and the owner/manager made it so that it was our problem not theirs.

So one of our members stayed there, and the other person walked back to the hotel to get cash out of their emergency supplies.

I believe that this was absolutely horrible customer service. We asked if there was a ATM or way to pay with Venmo or Apple Pay, and the business had no alternative when the system was down besides cash.

After 30 minutes there and then 30 minutes back, we paid for our meal and left. we decided to walk over to icon park to continue our day. Right inside icon park just five minute walk from the restaurant was an ATM.

Would recommend making sure the payment system is working before you eat.

Ушли через несколько минут. В Mei Asian Buffet быстро и с удовольствием поужинали. Приятно удивила цена буфета (шведского стола) - $19,90 на одного взрослого, свежесть и разнообразие блюд. Количество подходов к раздаче не ограничено. Китайская кухня и формат заведения на любителя, конечно. Но за такую цену грех жаловаться, на мой взгляд.
