It's a pretty solid option for lunch. Donna, my server was the only one on and I kinda felt bad for her - they REALLY need to add a second server during lunch because business is about to blow up if the food keeps coming out as good as it is people are going to talk, myself included!!! She did a wonderful job despite being the only server in the place.

Been here several times before and loved it but this time has left such a bad impression I will never come back it’s sad because we frequent at least 2-3 times a month. There was only one server. It wasn’t her fault service was so bad because she was just one person. It’s truly the manager who is at fault for only having one person on the floor. My friend did not eat the Skyway Roll it was soggy and the sauce was sour and tasted off and she was still charged $7.00 additional even though it was soggy because of bad service and it sitting at the sushi bar for 15 min. We watched our sushi sitting at the sushi bar for 15-20 minutes. Our kitchen food was cold. When I asked to talk to the manager the girl in the front on her phone told me she isn’t here until dinner time, that the owners husband has cancer? I feel bad leaving the review because someone involved has cancer now but I felt like I was in another universe because I’ve never had a bad experience here until today. Server’s name was Michelle and she did work hard even while dropping sushi off plates being the only server while the girl in the front was on her phone telling me how people have cancer and charging for soggy sushi. I asked a worker what the girl in the fronts name was, he gave me a crazy look and said I don’t know. You don’t the name of the girl who is deciding who gets charged extra? Turns out the girl in the front is Mia. Mia will charge you for not eating soggy sour sushi and she will not help while Michelle is so busy dropping sushi on the floor. Poor Michelle, I hope they get you help girl! I still tipped 20% but my friend didn’t sorry. She was gonna use the $7 mia charged her as your tip.

Everything was amazing. Food and service. The reason for 4 vs. 5 stars was the lack of menu items. Had our hearts set on a specific drink, but they were out of the main ingredient. Apparently, there was a fun weekday party the night before (yay for them) and the replenishment doesn't come in til Saturday. Will try again and report back.

I would like to share some information with you. Kawa started your endless menu in September my family and I was very excited. We came on the fourth night and was totally delighted with the food and service. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about my experience last night December 19th at 7:15 PM. I noticed that the sash mi pieces were smaller which is OK, I can order all I like. The steak pieces was ordered rare and came out well done and very tough. Not like before juicy and cooked to perfection. I reached a point where I was tired of flagging her down to order and decided to leave even though I was not done. I asked her if she had ever waited tables before as the service was awful. The manger came by to see what the problem was as just said I’m sorry. At least she could have given some sort of discount. I have brought many friends to your restaurant over the past few months and was totally embarrassed last night with my best friend that I bought with us. The curry chicken taste like sugar water, needless to say I will not be coming back or to continue to recommend your restaurant at out subdivision. Such a shame.

Worked at Kawa for 7 years. Still here. Our staff is amazing. We are a great team! Our food is fresh, service is top notch. Our all you can eat menu is huge and the best bang for your buck. Our hibachi show chefs are talented and the best in the business. I take pride in this restaurant and love our customers. Kawa is where it's at!

Don’t like to leave bad reviews but this is not acceptable. Our last trip to Kawa wasn’t what it had been prior trips but the food was still very good. Tonight for my parents anniversary we took out like we regularly do for a special occasion and this unfortunately be the final time we order from this place. Besides forgetting a side salad and not including and ginger or wasabi with our sushi meals, I found what looks to be a molded/rancid piece of chicken in my soba noodles. This is beyond disgusting. Threw the whole thing away after finding this, of course after eating some of it already. We dont want our money back or anything, though I think my dad does deserve it. But I want to bring awareness to the restaurant, and whoever may have ordered tonight on 9/1/2024 that there’s a chance you got some rancid chicken in your entree. Very disgusted and we will not be ordering from here ever again.

The food was honestly pretty meh compared to a lot of other hibachi places I’ve had. Easy quick service but not very attentive.! A little overpriced for certain rolls. The young waitress was rather shocked when I ordered hibachi and rolls as if I wasn’t sharing with my partner.. we get it. Americans are fat. Lemme just eat my food and you do your job. Other than that, little club style vibe inside! It’s alright.

I can't believe I hadn't reviewed this place until now.. I have been there so many times I have a collection of little discount cards! Love the atmosphere and staff.
They make excellent food, both the sushi and the Hibachi, and all else in between. Very reasonably priced but plated well, nice bar, and they occasionally switch up their sake and wine list. Rarely completely packed, but never empty. Clean, unassuming. Kawa is always a solid choice in this small city - for a family get-together, or after team sport engagement, or equally a quiet dinner or sushi for two.
Oh, and the Uber eats delivered quality I get is nearly the same as the freshly plated experience, consistently. That isn't always easy. Support local business!

I wanted to suggest this place to my brother, as an alternative to our usual spot, Koizi (now Koi).
I got there at 12:03 (they open at noon). I only know this because I tried to time my gym and Winn-Dixie runs so that I would get there promptly at noon.
I was seated in a booth behind a young couple. The server waiting on them smiled, then walked right past me...a couple of times...mind you, the couple and I were the only people there. I figured I would give them until 12:15 to acknowledge me, and then hit the bricks.
With a minute to spare, my server arrived. Sunday is dinner all day, with a price of $29.95...out of curiosity, I asked him (I would guess him to be in his early 20's) what the difference was between lunch and dinner, besides the price...he quickly replied "the portions are bigger at dinner". I thought to myself "it's all you can eat...that's irrelevant".
The food was very good. My server then brings me the check. I was just going to put my card in the folder, but something told me to look at my bill...Good thing, as the bill was $88.12!...after a quick panic attack, I asked him why I had an $88 check, when it was $29.95 for dinner...he said that he thought that I was ordering separate menu items. I told him he thought incorrectly, and that the only thing he needed to do was bring me back a corrected check.
The very good food was more than offset by a bad experience.

The hibachi is affordable (subjective, I know) and fun and delicious, however they now have an all you can eat option and menu that is extremely good. The selection is over the top and specialty rolls and sashimi were far more superior than I had expected by a long shot. Definitely going back to kawa!

lunch, Had Tuna Tataki appetizer and it wasn’t fresh because it tasted very fishy. My mom and I had 1 slice each. Let the waitress sarah know and she responded that we have to pay for half because we ate half of it and that’s how tuna taste… I’ve had this many times other places and know how it’s supposed to taste. But nope Not one apology. Almost as if she thought we were lying. Lol I work in customer service and that’s not how you get people to come back. It wasn’t about taking it off it was the point that a guest was served non fresh tuna. The majority of it was there and we were clearly disappointed. No worries tho we will pay half of it, tip more than 20% & just not come back. Host in bun was on his phone upon walking in. 👎

10 out of 10! A must try restraunt and strongly recommend the Hibachi Grill, the food was absolutely amazing and the experience you get to watch it be prepared is worth it all! Just tried it for first time, and now it's my top favorite! Make sure to take your loved ones and go to the actual restraunt to experience it and enjoy it!

Order from them on occasion. most the time is using Uber eats or pick it up to go. the chicken and filet is usually not the best but the rice is always good. today I ordered UE and asked for extra sauce and ordered extra rice with a comment to add extra sauce as well

I have seen very recent reviews with issues of with the chicken at this restaurant being bad. I too had an issue with the chicken there about a year ago where they refunded our entire table. Go elsewhere for hibachi.

The tempura chicken was very greasy and the tempura vegetables we're under cooked and the batter was still Gooey. The white sauce tasted like straight mayonnaise with a little spice, the hibachi cooked steak was tough for med rare which was more med well and the rice looked like zebra rice, meaning some had sauce and some didn't. For the price you pay you'd expect more, sadly disappointed. This is just my impression of what I had, but judge for yourself. Or go to tombos which is far better than this and cheaper too.

Nobody's food came out at the same time. The chicken tasted musty
.. per 3 of us. A few of the tempura vegetables were good. The rice was dry and almost hard! They ran out of lemons. We had to ask for a lot...because it didn't come as you expected. We only got a fork. Had to ask for a knife and a spoon. The waitress kept responding "I'm just trying to be nice"!! Won't go back.

We have been here dozens of times, but tonight was extra special. It was my daughter’s 18th birthday, and we had a family party of 9. I got chicken and shrimp lunch. My wife got steak lunch. Both of us got mostly rice and vegetables and very little meat/shrimp. The fountain drink were no good and the waitress did nothing about it other than take it off my bill. No complaints on the salad and soup. We can’t recommend Kawa at this time.

The portions are Very small! I got the filet and chicken, I had 5 chunks of "filet" and 6 chunks of chicken! I'm pretty sure the filet was sirloin. They didn't even give out that much vegetables.

Went for my sons birthday on June 9th with my family , wait staff put her finger up to me when I asked a question, and also told my family member “I’ll just get you water” I guess she felt he took too long for her. So he didn’t even order hibachi, ended up just ordering calamari , which instead he got a plate of fried broccoli and onion rings , then didn’t receive correct dish until we were done eating. We all sat and waited as there was a bug/beetle on the flat top and never got cleaned properly in fact the chef didn’t remove the bug until after he started , he actually did the fire trick over the bug. Food was horrible and salty as can be. And ur was very unsettling watching the raw chicken be placed on the veggies and all cut and flipped with the same utensils. I was bragging about this place to my family and I’m honestly so embarrassed.

Been to kumo and thought was the same place because used to love going in for their lunch specials. Saw that they changed names and was hoping it was just as good. It wasn't the soup tasted like sink water. The rice had absolutely no flavor at all. The steak had little to non seasoning idk if they just except you to load it up in yum yum sauce to make it taste good. Service was very slow and keep in mind I went there during lunch it took them over 15-20 mins to bring us out drinks when and to place our order which we were ready to order when our server handed us the menu. Sat at a hibachi table with a group of friends. The chef didn't really know what he was doing. He cooked all meat individually. So if you ordered steak, shrimp and chicken the first meat he cooked was cold by the time the last meat was done! And a short show, nothing special. He did the volcano onion and shared his squirt bottle of sake. Very disappointed with the cold food. And we were told he wasn't new, been working there for 2yrs!!! Tonbo was way better.

Dawn was the worst waitress I’ve ever had in my life. First she laughed at me when I ordered an alcoholic beverage saying I looked way too young (I’m 26). She then gave my brother and I the complete wrong dishes and laughed it off saying she “misclicked the buttons” even though she got our mother’s dish right and we all ordered the same exact thing. The cherry on top was she forgot to even bring the alcoholic beverage that caused such a stir. She again laughed it off and said she forgot. Do not recommend.

This was the second time that we went there. First time was horrible. Food came out bad. It took forever. So they gave us gift cards so we would go back. So we did second time. Food was cold. Took forever. Ordered us to sushim appetizer. It'll take my decent four had a chance to dig in and taste. The waitress came back and said that you gave me the wrong order. It wasn't mine. I said I'll pay for it. It looks good. She took it off my table and said no. I brought it to another table. I couldn't believe it. My family has been here many times to celebrate birthdays. Tonight was my nieces birthday celebration. We had a 630pm reservation. We were not seated until 715p. The waitress took our order but by 8p there was still no soup or salad. Another family was sitted right across from us at 730p and got their soups and salad in 10 minutes plus the cook started cooking for them right away. My relative spoke to the manager and they said the waitress is new and had another table besides ours. She was no where to be seen. My brother in law was livid plus everyone was hungry from waiting. We ate in today and I was pretty disappointed. Our drink order was wrong. I asked for one salad to not have dressing… came out with dressing. I ordered medium rare filet and got at best medium well… if not well. Server took a phone call in the dining room while we were waiting for our check. Just a really bad… and expensive… experience. $100 for 2 kids meals and a hibachi (not cooked in front of you) entree.
I’ll take hibachi express any day of the week over something like this.

The food was honestly pretty meh compared to a lot of other hibachi places I’ve had. Easy quick service but not very attentive.! A little overpriced for certain rolls. The young waitress was rather shocked when I ordered hibachi and rolls as if I wasn’t sharing with my partner.. we get it. Americans are fat. Lemme just eat my food and you do your job. Other than that, little club style vibe inside! It’s alright.

This place was a struggle from the get go, we should have known then... Whatever role Patrick plays came off as if we were putting him out by asking for assistance when we weren't greeted upon entry. Comes off as an entitled server, didn't care for him much. Purple hair guy at the front was nice but not very helpful. Our service was mediocre at best, didn't have Patrick.. thank goodness! Our Female server was very friendly but not very attentive, she forgot a few items and then made poor excuses as to why she forgot them, food was bland compared to similar hibachi type restaurants, disconnect between service staff and Chef, disregard for food allergies when specifically requested. I do not recommend nor will we be returning to this establishment. Best of luck!

My experience wasn't great. It was a Wednesday night, we went for my nieces birthday so we actually made a reservation for a specific time, 7pm. They were not ready for nor did they plan to have a reservation for 7, as we were seated around 7:35 and a chef did not show up for another 45 mins. Once the chef walked up, he started greeting us and said "oh sorry wrong table" we laughed. but then he literally walked away to serve a different table. We all thought he was joking with us but he never came back. So that was awesome 👎
Then the food, was just okay, nothing out of this world and I WILL NOT return for a second time!

The food was ok it was Japanese Hibachi. The cook was very friendly and cooked good food. The Hibachi experience was very dry, not really comedic or entertaining like other places I've been to.

Upon walking in we weren’t greeted the person at counter looked at us like he didn’t know what to do, I said may we please have hibachi for 4, he said I can’t seat you at hibachi the rest of the night, I looked confused as this is the kinda restaurant yall are and no one was there it’s 5:45 and they don’t close until 9, the guy working beside him looked at him like he was crazy n then the guy started fumbling words about seating us, I said don’t worry about it we’ll go else where, 2nd time I’ve been there and the customer service was horrible, def won’t be returning. If you want subpar food and service this is your spot, if you want top quality and excellent service take the drive down the road! Hopefully no one else has to experience this as we did!!!

Food is good. Service can be slow and not always attentive. Sometimes there is a long wait for the hibachi, if they are not very busy, but seating at a table is usually quick. We have been several times. I would come back but not if there is a time crunch or if I am super hungry. Just OK compared to other hibachi style restaurants in the area.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I must say I was very pleased. Food was delicious, service was terrific and the atmosphere was impressive. The only negative thing in my opinion was they only serve green hot tea. It was ok but not my favorite. This restaurant is a bit on the pricey side but considering the delicious food and the portions it was worth it.

I absolutely love this place. Great food, beautiful dinning room, and beyond great service. I've been here more than a few times and have had the privilege to be served by almost all the servers and all have been more than great. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. I have nothing but good to say about this place. We will definitely be back this weekend as usual.

A favorite go-to for Japanese food, both to go and to eat in. Had a great meal at the teppanyaki table, Lobster and Filet Mignon, done to perfection. Waiter was amazing and on top of everything. Our drink glasses were refilled before we even had time to ask. Highly recommend...

I have eat at this restaurant and order take out many times and their food is always on point but the last several times I have ordered take out the order has been messed up. This time two different rolls were messed up. I would t mind except for the fact that I am allergic to certain types of fish and can’t eat my rolls now because I don’t know what they are or if I’m allergic to them. I have tried to call the restaurant to get it fixed and they will not call me back. I don’t think I will be coming back to this restaurant again.

Food was perfectly cooked. Cook realized he shorted our guest their chicken and went to get it and doubled their amount due to error. Crisp veggies . Was not super loud as these Steakhouses could be.

The sushi and appetizers were okay. Ordered medium cooked filet mignon hibachi with noodle.
I don't believe the meat was filet, very tough. I brought it to our servers attention and she explained it should be ordered medium rare. There was no effort on their behalf to make it right.

A group 0f 10 from our senior residence made reservations 2 days in advance wanting to prepare them for a larger party. We were seated promptly, given menus, and drink orders placed. Our server then started taking our orders and we felt a bit rushed as we were unfamiliar with the extensive menu. One of our group frequently dines at KAWA and was able to assist us. Salad and soup was served promptly. It all went south from there. Granted, there was only one server, and at least 8 other occupants in the dining area. Shortly after a small group arrived for a birthday party. Serving of our entrees began approximately 45 minutes later in groups of 3 and 4. There was a considerable time lapse between the appearance of each group of servings. The explanation given was the fryer was small and we had a iot of tempura ordered. Ok, not happy, but understood. Time passed. Slowly. The birthday party in the other room had progressed to singing "Happy Birthday ", and finally we were all served except for ONE PERSON. We proceeded to having desert orders taken and served. Still one person no entree. Take out boxes distributed, and finally the one REMAINING entree was served. The person who had waited so patiently for his food objected, and rightly so, to the 20% automatic service charge on his bill. The food was disappointingly bland, cooled quickly to a somewhat soggy tempura. I could go on, but why bother. Upon our return home we were greeted by many fans of KAWA, wanting to hear our opinions, they were shocked when we told them of our experience needless to say, we immediately voted to never return.

Not as good as expected. They take their sweet time coming around to attending and serving and are not as helpful in describing their own menu. And be careful as this Restaurant tacks along their own 20% gratuity on your bill if you have more than four (4) people in your party. They said it's their policy.

We moved here from NY and finally found a place that makes fresh food, and the hibachi is just right, not swimming in salty sauce like some other places we tried. Thumbs up, we found a place as great as our NY Japanese steakhouse and sushi!

Went for hibachi, which I haven't had in a long time. The drinks were good and varied- I did a sake flight. Our chef was funny, and tried to make it not awkward to be seated around a table with complete strangers (which isn't easy). Overall, a good time and worth checking out!

Will not go back, staff is under staffed, they only had one chef for hibachi tables. Not a fun atmosphere. Employees make no efforts to create a special event. Seafood scallops were cut in half , flatten and over cooked.

$38 for one person one soda and the shrimp with the scallop you receive six shrimp, three scallops and a half a cup of vegetables besides the soup ,rice and a salad that they shouldn't serve. They charge more than Kobe's .their food is not as good as Kobe's and the amount of the serving is a quarter of what you receive at Kobe's I would not recommend. Not worth the money.
