Morimoto Asia
About This Sushi Bar

Morimoto Asia is a collaboration with Chef Masaharu Morimoto and the Japanese master chef's first pan-Asian restaurant. Morimoto Asia will offer an entirely new experience for our guests, led by the creativity of Chef Morimoto, already one of the most inventive forces in Asian cuisine. Our culinary destination includes unique exhibition kitchens that showcase traditions like Peking duck carving and dim sum. Morimoto Asia's eye-catching, 36-foot tall, two-story layout includes lounges, private dining spaces, and an exhibition glass encased kitchen that allows guests a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the culinary action. The second-level sushi bar and lounge have a separate entrance.

Sushi Experience №1

This restaurant has gone downhill for the past couple of years. Service, food, and drink were below mediocre. The restaurant is disorganized. Our waitress took orders, brought drinks and utensils, and cleared plates, but other than that it was hard to find our waitress. The dishes came out by different people from the kitchen. Since they were not the ones taking our order, they fumbled to know which dish belonged to which person. Kid menu was initially going to be placed in front of an adult. Kid menu are provided in porcelain plates and bowls. When we asked the waitress if there were any plastic or paper alternatives, her answer was a straight no. Food portions were small and underwhelming. We’ve been here many times. Each experience was worse than the last. But today, the experience was very disappointing from beginning to end. There needs to be more Asian restaurants at Disney Springs. We will not be going back.

This restaurant is the proof that fancy locations does not mean quality food
Located in Disney Springs
Sushi was okay nothing extraordinary
But for the price and slow service even waiting 15 min for a table
I would've expected something much better .

We had an amazing experience at Morimoto Asia, thanks to Steven! He gave us top-notch service, fantastic recommendations, and kept us laughing the entire time with his friendly and funny personality. Went in for lunch. Ordered our items, and the server missed some items for one of the people in our party. We were right at the end of the lunch menu, and the server did not tell us that the kitchen was "closed" at 3:30 and they couldn't replace the item. They eventually did.

Don't know if I will come back.

Fantastic restaurant! Our server, Tyana, was amazing. She gave wonderful recommendations (BBQ eel roll and Morimoto’s Buri-Bop!!!) and was all around a great server. Our server Tyrana (I apologize if it’s not spelled right) MADE our dinner! We were celebrating my 21st birthday and she made great food and drink recommendations! The food was good but our service and server were great! She gave us handmade origami at the end of our dinner and seemed just like the most genuine person! She steered us in the right direction with everything we got! She was so fun and nice to talk to and really added to the experience. The food we had was all great and we tried many different things on the menu and had no complaints. The restaurant was also beautiful inside and presentation was amazing! I really liked how the food items came out as they were ready so everything was super fresh and hot. If I’m ever back in Disney springs this is where I’ll be dining! Thank you so much for the amazing experience! This is how all dining/servers should be!

The atmosphere is incredible and the food is great. Manuel was our server and he did an outstanding job in taking care of us. Recommended dishes would be the Peking duck and the sushi. One thing though, the lady from the entrance, Luz, is extremely unpleasant and should not be receiving anybody in this or any restaurant. Extremely rude and probably an unhappy human being. Besides from that, the experience was great. Be prepared to spend some extra time finding parking as this place is in Disney Springs which usually has a high traffic of people.

Absolutely delicious!!! The spare ribs are to die for! All of the dishes are absolutely delectable. We got several dishes and split them family style. The restaurant was very accommodating with us doing this and our server was wonderful! Highly recommend the orange chicken, the Morimoto spare ribs, the Chilean sea bass, and the side of Chinese vegetables. We also tried the duck ramen and miso soup and both of those were pretty salty.

Another visit to Morimoto, and another fantastic time. We ate at the hidden lounge/bar on the second floor. The ribs were to die for. They are really large so the three rib appetizer is really a shared appetizer. Everything we had, the egg-rolls, the spicy salmon roll, the chicken dumplings were all top notch but if I was only getting one it would be the ribs. The drinks were expensive but excellent!!!! Great date spot. Highest of recommendations.

First time at this restaurant and at Disney Springs. Ordered Peking duck and it did not disappoint, it was cooked to perfection. Food is great but the service at the bar horrible. We sat upstairs in the bar area to eat, and while the 2 different couple who arrived after us had their orders taken promptly, we waited about 6 to 7 minutes before anyone came to take our drink or food order. When the waiter named Idries who took one of American couple’s orders finally approached, he only checked on us once to ask how the food was and never returned to refill our waters or see if we needed anything else. He must be racist but odd that he worked in an Asian restaurant but racist to Asians! Just saying!
Will go back but will never sit in the bar again!

If you want to overpay for mediocre chinese food then this place is for you. Otherwise, you can definitely get tastier and better quality food elsewhere. The atmosphere and restaurant was beautiful, but this is all you are paying for. Don't expect the food to be out of this world. Kids enjoyed their ramen but the portions were extremely small. We had Peking duck and it was fatty and unexceptional. We had to order more baos at an extra cost, which seemed like they did this on purpose given that they gave such little portions. We also substituted the rice for the noodles, which was the plainest noodle we've ever had. Duck was fatty and not crispy, we've definitely had better. Our friends are vegetarian and they were charged $5 extra just to have tofu in their ramen! It was overall a very disappointing expérience for our new years dinner. The waitress screwed up the bill at the end and there were so many extra charges, it was a bit ridiculous. We waited forever just to get additional hoison sauce. We had been so excited to eat there since last year but couldn't get a reservation and made one months in advance and really wished we had gone to our other option. We had planned on returning back next new years eve with family but given how mediocre the food was and how ridiculous these prices were, we will not be back! Save yourself and go somewhere else more worth it.

The service and ambiance TOP Class. The spare ribs were the best I have ever had. The Tuna Tartate was the best I have ever had. Even the cocktails were very carefully curated and perfect. But the only disappointment was the Tonkatsu. Everything was drowned into the soup, including the egg. Usually, a Tonkatsu is "plated" so beautifully. But besides that, the bone broth was absolutely tasteless. Although I really loved my experience in this restaurant... I have to mention this because I think a tasteless Tonkatsu broth is a serious issue for a Japanese restaurant.

I came here with my parents and my brother and there were so many ants crawling all over the booth and table, I’ve never seen so many ants in a restaurant before. If there’s that many ants at the tables, I can’t imagine what the kitchen is like and what kind of bugs are crawling in the food. We asked the waitress if there were any appetizers she would recommend so she went and asked her manager. When she came back she mumbled something and we asked her to repeat it and she pointed out ribs on the menu saying they would be a good appetizer but we passed on getting appetizers and ordered our entrees. Anytime we asked the waitress anything she kept telling us “hold on, let me go ask my manager”. I will never be returning.

Iron Chef Masaharu Marimoto's gem in Orlando Florida. Amazing ambiance, delicious food, top notch cocktails and thr best staff. Our server Ralph was such a pleasure giving us all the recommendations from the menu. Then our Sushi Master Daniel was also a gracious host as he prepared his dishes. The Takarabako was one of the best smoked Old Fashioned I have ever had. To start we had the Spider soft shell crab sushi roll, the Shumai and the A5 Wagyu burger baos. All were fantastic. The Morimoto Gomoku Fried Rice was insanely good. So too was the Morimoto Peking Duck. And my 16 year old son polished a plate of the Ochazuke Miso Chilean Sea Bass. The only disappointment was that we didn't have reservations. But we were lucky to get a seat at the sushi bar! Great restaurant and a must try.

Beautiful restaurant, great service, and great food! Went here for the first time for my boyfriend and I anniversary dinner and a day later with his mother. Both days were wonderful. We had no reservation and were able to make it to their first come first serve tables both days. (Once the day before Christmas, and the second on Christmas Day both for dinner) we expected to spend a fortune just for good food but only spent $35 for just my boyfriend and I. That’s the same price we paid for two slices of pizza and two drinks at the parks! (Though our second visit to the restaurant set us back $96). But the tempura and spicy tuna sushi was delicious and the ramen was even better! The ramen here is thousands of times better than all of those other restaurants claiming to have “authentic” ramen when they all taste the same. Both the Duck Ramen and the Tonkotsu were very yummy and just the right amount to fill you up. Such a wonderful first time and cannot wait to be returning next time I visit Disney!

Spunky and vibrant the atmosphere was just right for a sit down dinner in Disney. The kids had ramen; vegetarian sushi (made by chef off menu); miso soup. The highlight was the buri bop. With yellow tail fish with an egg yolk in the center that looked like a beautiful magnolia flower. The citrusy smear with salty sweet sauce elevated it to 10 notches. It is prepared at the table. I Later learnt that chef morimoto designed the dish in 98! The cocktails were beautiful too!

My friend and I had a very disappointing experience at Morimoto Asia. She flew in from out of town to celebrate her college graduation, and we were both excited for an elegant dinner to mark the occasion. As two professional women—I’m a scientist at the Kennedy Space Center, and she’s a recent college graduate—we were looking forward to celebrating this milestone in a beautiful, respectful setting. Having previously chosen this restaurant to celebrate my father’s birthday, where the food and service were outstanding, I trusted Morimoto Asia to deliver another memorable experience. Unfortunately, the evening fell short from the moment we arrived.
Arriving five minutes early for our reservation, we were told to wait for our server to seat us, yet multiple groups—including a large family and several groups of two—arrived after us and were seated before us. Once we were finally brought to our table, our server treated us as though we were a burden rather than valued guests. She seemed frustrated when we needed a moment to decide on the menu, as though she expected us to order immediately without even having a chance to review it. She made no effort to explain any specials or offer recommendations, further adding to the rushed and impersonal service.
When my friend didn’t enjoy her Thai tea and kindly requested a replacement, another server was gracious and understanding. However, our own server seemed visibly irritated, rolling her eyes as she left. The most upsetting moment came when I briefly stepped away to the bathroom. Our server turned to my friend and mockingly asked, ‘Would you like to wait for your little friend?’—a comment that was both rude and unprofessional. Inattentive service would have been far better than the likes of this.
What made this behavior even more jarring was the stark contrast in how she interacted with other guests, particularly the older couple seated beside us. She warmly engaged with them, asked about the occasion they were celebrating, and made them feel valued—something she never extended to us. We had hoped to share that we were celebrating a college graduation, but we were never given the chance.
As two young Latina women, it was difficult to ignore the feeling that we were being treated differently. It was disheartening and shocking to experience such dismissive and unkind service. We are hardworking, professional individuals who deserve to be treated with the same respect as anyone else. Instead, we left feeling unwelcome on what should have been a joyful, celebratory evening.

This experience was altogether more shocking when considering Disney's well-known initiative to value, celebrate, and uplift women of different cultures and nationalities. As members of this very target group, it was disheartening to feel we were valued less than the adorable older Caucasian couple seated next to us. This interaction undermined Disney's commitment to inclusion and tarnished their reputation as "The Happiest Place on Earth."

The damage done is irreparable. Thankfully, our night was salvaged by the beautiful fireworks display at Magic Kingdom. As for Morimoto Asia, I have no desire to return or bring my business there again.

I cannot recall our server’s full name, but it started with a 'T.' She served our 6:45 PM reservation on December 15th, 2024.

My wife and I worked in the fine dining industry years ago and appreciate a proper dining experience. We have dined at many of the Disney Springs establishments as we are local to the area. This was our third visit to Morimoto. We came in with modest expectations and yet still were disappointed. The food is good, excellent even, we had the Wagyu beef prepared table side and the fried rice. We also had the Lychee Martini and their signature Old Fashion which were decent. However, the service left something to be desired. Our female server failed to address my wife initially and committed several faux pas throughout our experience often reaching between us without warning, refilling my drink before my wife's when both needed filling. She seemed experienced enough to know better. The gentleman who prepared the beef touched the business end of the serving chopsticks with his bare hands as he plated our freshly cooked beef and before walking away seemed to examine his fingers for injury. I get it, to some people this seems like a small, trivial complaint, but in a somewhat elevated dining experience this is definitely unsatisfactory. To add insult to injury our card was ran for the same amount three times when closing out. As a former server, I simply cannot think of a single reason why it would be necessary to do this. There is definitely room for improvement and a teaching opportunity for service practices and hygiene here.

The food at this establishment is exceptional, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The cuisine is deeply rooted in traditional Japanese flavors, yet incorporates influences from various Asian culinary traditions. Chef Moto is highly skilled and has successfully adapted these dishes to be more accessible, both in terms of flavor and cost, without compromising on quality.

I highly recommend trying the dumplings and the ramen soup—both are outstanding and will not disappoint. If you have the opportunity, be sure to sample any dish featuring duck, as it is a particular specialty of the restaurant.

While the prices may be somewhat on the higher side, the overall experience is well worth it for those seeking a memorable dining experience.

Rating: Kudos
I was really disappointed to see food particles on the table and the dishes as we sat down. For an establishment as high end as MAs, I expected much better. Service was okay, certainly not exceptional as one would expect.
The food though was aesthetically pleasing, well prepared, and served hot or cold where appropriate. The food choices were unique and well done but nearly everything else chipped away at giving this restaurant a "Killah" rating.

I came here with my girlfriend with great expection hearing the name Morimoto, but was truly disappointed. We order the $45 and $90 sushi platter with the description "rare and seasonal fishes", but what we received was average at best. What we were served was basic salmon, tuna, squid, eel, mackerel, and etc. Also spicy tuna roll(was not spicy) and yellowtail roll. Every fish are the ones you find in any sushi restaurant and nothing about them were rare or seasonal. And the main star the rice was a dishonor. It was bland and there was too much of it for each piece. No sweetness or hint of vinegar at all. The 2 star was for the Mai Tai which was great and the nice waitress. Seriously AYCE restaurants taste better. Didn't bother taking any pics because why would you.

Still, that was better than the staff, who were as disinterested in customer service as the almost empty space was cold.

The orange chicken was a large portion and the chicken was soft and beautifully cooked. The coating and orange glaze were light, not overpowering or greasy. The Morimoto buri bop was prepared at the table and delicious. We also tried the otoro special which was fresh and a generous size for the quality and price. The wait time was about an hour long, the ribs were the only best thing in our groups opinion. It was very tender, crispy and the sticky sauce covered in it was tasty, had a tangy and spicy taste to it. The chicken fry rice was not tasty, it was bland, the pork dumplings were bland no flavor, the duck Ramen ( the duck meat had that gamey taste, very nasty), our server was okay, overall the food could've been better for an iron chef restaurant and for paying over $300. I could've gotten better food at the local Chinese restaurant. Would not be coming back here, very disappointing food.

The service was slow, it took about twenty minutes for anyone to even take our drink orders. We ordered virgin lemonade drinks, they were very good. For food we ordered the ribs, edamame, pot stickers, and the boom boom shrimp. The edamame was brought out 10 minutes before all of the other food so it was cold by the time the other food came. The ribs were fantastic, they fell right off the bone. The pot stickers weren’t anything special. And the shrimps flavor was good but really only tasted the breading.

Celebrated an anniversary. Sat in a booth. Amazing looking dining room. Far too cold to enoy our meal. Our server said the heat was on but ineffective. Food was subpar. Duck was tasteless. Boi bowl consisted of some egg seasoned rice and a few small slivers of yellowfin tuna. Overcooked. Over priced. Too many other good places to eat in Disney Springs.

Asked if they were taking walk-ins, hostess said no and that they're at capacity, then sat us at a table of 6 empty chairs only after my girlfriend points it out from across the room. We waited 40-45 mins, just for a soup, then another 15-20 mins for tiny, very sub par plates of food that we could've gotten at a neighborhood Chinese spot for half the price. Best part was their menu is labeled with their gluten free options. Drink menu was absurdly pricy, most drinks were $17 or more. Would not repeat.

Painfully slow. Sat here for 20 minutes just staring at our room-temperature waters waiting to order. Finally got to order then waited another 35+ for food to slowly trickle out. Some in our party were finished eating before others even got their food. With the prices they charge, this kind of service is unforgivable. To add insult to injury we were automatically charged an 18% "service fee".

Reservation were for 430, checked in @ 4, got called to wait inside at 445, didn't get seated until 5. Ordered 4 sodas and 2 special non alcoholic drinks, sodas came out and we waited for special drinks. 1 cane out just as appetizers cane out and the other in the middle of appetizers. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 came out and the third was delivered about 2 mins before dinner came out. Dinner cane out for 5 of 6 of us. My MIL's came out half way through our meal (she ordered just an avocado roll). Waitress was barely at our table. Never asked if we wanted refills on drinks. We received the bill before we could order dessert. Oh and by the way it was my husband's birthday and it was well noted at the host counter and when I made reservations, not one happy birthday. I do have to say 3 of us had the turkey dinner and it was delicious, dark meat was dry and white meat was very moist which was odd. My daughters had the duck ramen and they liked it. Not sure if it's worth going back though. The wait staff I think kinda ruined it

From the moment we walked in the doors one of the hosts was more than hostile and rude when we arrived for our reservation. We were seated 15 minutes past our reservation time at a table that we then sat at for 10 minutes before being greeted. Our server, William, then avoided our table after taking our orders and had to be flagged down by a host to fill several of our empty waters. An hour and a half later, our food was finally served after being ignored by our server to the point the manager approached us to give us an update, but yet still did not remove our empty appetizer plates. Very disappointed.

Can’t speak for the inside restaurant but I can speak for the Morimoto Asia Street Food area. Background: I live in Philly and was seriously considering going to the Morimoto Sushi place in Philly (a competitive market, as there are lots of good sushi restaurants there) but about a month ago someone said it was overpriced, overrated, and not good quality. Well then I went to Disney and saw his restaurant and if you are considering the Morimoto Street food section of his restaurant in Disney Springs- just don’t. There are so many other places you can enjoy. My wife got the $18 ramen which tasted like it came right out of a cup ramen pack at H-Mart. I got the $18.75 fried chicken and beer combo. The draft beer tasted like they didn’t clean their lines in a while, and the chicken tasted like card board. You can tell there is no pride or care in the food. You’d be better off eating at your hotel’s food court. Seriously, I wouldn’t steer you wrong. Don’t use your money here- even granting that the magic of Disney is watching your money disappear! Easiest choice ever for me- based off my experience- I won’t be going to the sushi place in Philly either! But seriously- at least in the street food portion of this restaurant, go somewhere else unless you like to light money on fire and food that’s worse than anything you could heat up in a microwave!

We recently visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations based on previous visits.

Although we had a reservation, it took 15 minutes before our server even approached our table. I understand policies around ID verification, but after I accepted the decision not to serve me, the server continued to bring up the issue and tried to push other drinks on me despite me politely saying I only wanted water. The tone used during these interactions felt condescending, which made the experience uncomfortable.

The timing of our meal service was also an issue. My entrée was brought out immediately after the appetizer, before we were finished. Worse, my wife’s meal didn’t arrive until 15 minutes later. Serving meals at the same time is a basic expectation, especially for a special occasion like this.

Throughout the meal, I noticed managers checking in on other tables multiple times, but despite making eye contact with them on several occasions, no one came to check on us or address the issues we were experiencing.

Overall, we were very disappointed with the service. We have always enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but this visit fell far below the standard we expected, especially for a celebratory evening.

I actually looked forward to this experience as I've been a long time iron chef fan, first time coming here with my wife for our 10 year anniversary. If your palate isn't familiar with this cuisine then enjoy your food, it's going to be amazing and yes, get the peking duck as other have suggested. If not, it's pretty mid, take it or leave it as you're probably there for the *magic of Disney.*

Arrived nearly 10 minutes prior to our reservation and asked to wait to be seated. We were overlooked entirely. My man Jesus cleaning tables recognized this and went to the daft girls in the front, promply getting us seated. Much respect to you.

Our reservation was for 2nd floor patio which was not honored due to 'last minute floor changes', whatever that means. We took an uncofortable circular booth because honestly it was ruined for us from the beginning, and we didn't want out ruin this day with more negativity.

Our server Christie, we loved. Great personality, always on point, as soon as I was done chugging my water she was there immediately. In case you read this, we did not go to Ghiradhelli. We left immediately and will never go back to Disney Springs as we don't have any reason to go any longer. Thank you so much for turning a sour experience into a pleasant one. ❤️

My time in retail and hospitality management forced me to leave this as I would hate for someone else in our shoes to have this same experience. If you're here for a quick bite at Disney Springs, enjoy it. If you're here for a special occasion, I hope your experience is better than ours.

2/5 stars; one for Christie and one for Jesus.

Reservation # 2110647153 through opentable in case anyone from here gives a damn about any of this.

My favorite place to dine everytime I’m in Orlando. We eat here almost everyday of our trips. The ambiance is beautiful and open. The staff is friendly and attentive. We are always seated almost right away when we check in for our reservations. It gets super busy so reservations are recommended.

Our favorite items that we eat every time are the pecking duck (for 2) with bao buns, hot and sour soup, the shu mai dumplings and the sushi. They have a nice wine and cocktail list and have a full bar.

Super slow but the food was tasty though. The peking duck was delicious, but it took about 40 minutes after we finished appetizers to come out. The noodles are worth the upcharge and were probably even better if they were hot when they came out. The oysters were tasty as well but we're shucked a bit poorly with lots of shell pieces broken into the oysters I overheard other tables being apologized to for the wait as well so it doesn't seem to be unusual. The manager did give us a discount for the issues.

Overhyped. Wife and I went on a date night and had fun. The food wasn’t memorable and although we live in Orlando we will probably never go back again.

We ordered the bibimbap which is the “signature dish that made him famous” , the ribs, the sushi + sashimi platter, and the Japanese cheesecake.

While the food was alright, I would expect more from a restaurant with these price points. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised as it is in Disney Springs after all.

I don't expect anything to be inexpensive at Disney World, but it's great when something is actually worth the price. The interior of Morimoto Asia is beautiful and calming. The food is delicious and inventive; my table spilt several appetizers and dim sum dishes to get to try a variety of items. Everything - from the lemongrass chicken dumplings to the pork eggrolls to the tempura popcorn shrimp - was so flavorful and well prepared. Our waitress, Misa, was fantastic; very kind, helpful, and perfectly attentive. Will happily return in the future.

we came here for the 2nd time but it was a surprise and maybe we didn't look at the bill carefully last time.. but this time we were surprised because we found the food didn't seem to be good... the taste of the soup smelled like duck broth and when I asked the waiter what kind of broth they used for the soup he replied that it was vegetable broth... but I confirmed that the broth was from duck meat but it seemed the waiter didn't know about the food they served... what was more surprising was when we paid the bill we were charged $10 for 2 glasses of cold water and were not informed at first even though we were worried about not touching it because we ordered 2 soft drinks... because I don't think a restaurant doesn't serve cold water to customers.. it's unreasonable that you have to pay for 2 glasses of cold water...

Definitely our favorite in Disney Springs and our first stop each time we are in Orlando (note you will need reservations). The food is outstanding, having tried a number of plates. The Morimoto Buri Bop was mind blowing good and prepared with the history in front of us at table, the egg rolls are always a favorite, the sushi also. The alcohol is great, the desert meh. The service is always excellent, they always attempt to seat you if you arrive early. The restaurant is beautiful and has various seating from 2nd floor balcony alcoves to outside. There is a fast food counter as well outside. Bathrooms are clean. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend this restaurant. Photos are from multiple visits.

Tonight’s meal was curated for me by my server Ralph: every bite thoughtfully considered by what I would enjoy most.
Timed perfectly.
Menu:
Miso soup
The “Forsaken” highball
Dim sum of pork and shrimp
Sushi (including Japanese Red Sea Bass): the light, fresh taste of fish that was swimming in the ocean just a seeming moment ago. The slice of shrimp pound cake as the finisher: I would have never considered trying, yet it exquisitely rounded out the dish.
The deconstructed tartare was a true work of art! Playing with my food? Yes, please!
Korean Style Fried Rice (Iron Chef winning dish): the delicate elusive yuzu paste that binds with the sashimi yellowtail… so many intricate flavors wrapped in a fiery clay pot!
Seasonal Cocktail (think White Russian with a dance of allspice hiding beneath the cream.)
Dessert: Japanese style cheesecake and strawberry sorbet. Fragments of strawberries garnished the plate.

Go.
Savor.
Take your time with the understated glamour that is infused throughout the experience that is Morimoto’s.

Morimoto’s was the top recommendation by friend, Jay G (thank you). Thanks also to server Christie who assisted Ralph and whose gentle effervescence made the meal even more joyful.

Normally, I would say that a place like Morimoto Asia is overpriced for such mediocrity...however, tonight I found the experience here delightful.

I kept my expectations in check and ordered a few small items. It turned out nicely.

The salmon roll was predictably good albeit forgettable.

The Kakuni Pork Bao (that's three languages in one name) was delicious but the pork, in my humble opinion, was not tender enough to be in a bao. As it was, the pork should have been served as a standalone item.

The duck ramen was quite good. The flavors were bold and deep. Best duck I've ever had? Not even close but the dish overall was worth eating. Lost a star there.

The servers all generally know the dishes well and are helpful in making selections but do not expect them to be able to carry on a conversation about the origins of some of their offerings let alone what true authentic Asian cuisine actually is. That cost them another star.

Overall, a much better experience than we expected. We hope that will continue.

Guten Appetit!

Update: 4 November 2024, 236pm.
Middle of the day. No lines. Sat down at the bar.
Not busy. One staff working behind the counter tending to something other than guests, another fussing over the register, never looked up while I just sat there. No acknowledgement, not even a glance. No one bothered so I left after being ignored for 10 minutes.

Employees observed to be spending more time chitchatting with one another than tending to guests.

This place has all the feel of an overpriced mediocrity in a great location that has taken guests for granted.

Update: 5 November 2024
Reluctantly went to Morimoto Asia today because a dear friend wanted to try.

Ramen - mediocre. Shallow tastes, overcooked egg and bland chasu pieces.

Sushi - very underwhelming for the price.

Staff can be heard expressing their crude personal opinions on various subjects, at times loudly.

This restaurant tries too hard to be something it is not while taking guests for granted.

We are done here.

Sushi Experience №145

We have dined here a number of times, and have never been wow’ed, but we did consider it a good option for Asian inspired food, if walking around Disney Springs. This time, I was intentional and made reservations to avoid having to wait. I have never found the greeters to be kind or welcoming- they always seem rude and rushed like they are not there to do a job, but instead to do you a favor. Almost like you are not the one about to spend a small fortune on a meal. We were taken to our table on the second floor, all the way in the back, right next to the stand where the servers enter orders, which was right in front of some back area. I was actually appalled that there would be a table placed there, and even more so that we were being asked to sit there- especially when we had just walked passed a nicely appointed table that had already been cleared. We asked for a different table, and instead of just sitting us there, we were brought back down stairs, and again placed right next to the servers station; the place where they seemed to congregate, enter orders, and dried and placed glasses. This was worst than the first table, but we relented. I guess the servers and managers forgot that customer tables were right in front of them, because they were loud, and had their own discussions and jokes, so at times, it was very distracting. Why aren’t areas like that against a back wall as to not disturb guests during their dinners and celebrations? We were celebrating a birthday. Then our server, she just seemed rushed. It was odd too that she cleared dishes from the tables with these weird looking plastic gloves on. At the end of the night, she even picked up the bill before we left the table. It was an unpleasant experience overall. I would actually say it was a horrible experience, and because of it, we will not return. At any price point, food and service should be excellent, because going out for a meal is a luxury in this economy; prices are through the roof, and show no signs of stabilizing. There are a lot of options at Disney Springs, and I would suggest that you skip this one for dining-in. If you have a taste for Asian inspired, perhaps consider ordering from their outside stand to go.

For a Michelin restaurant, the food was extremely disappointing. The quality and taste of the food were nothing I would ever want to have again. It’s sad because the restaurant is beautiful and the service was on point. Specifics: we ordered two different rolls- and they were both really fishy. The dumplings had no flavor, the edamame was fine except with overpowering amounts of salt and I could have microwaved them myself and the orange chicken was just plain bad and even had chewy pieces.

Me and my husband went for the first time yesterday. We had a reservation. We arrived early and was seated within minutes. The atmosphere was amazing. Our server was top notch. We ordered the Shumi and California roll sharing both it was amazing then we got a wagayu slider and that slider was the best burger slider i ever had. Literally heaven in my mouth the burger slider melted just like butter in your mouth. The shumi and California roll was also heaven. Then for the main course my husband had the morimoto spare ribs and the meat was faking off the bone and do juicy and tender which melted in your mouth. For me i choose the tonkotsu ramen it was absolutely amazing. The noodles are specially made for Morimoto Asia so you can't get those noodles just anywhere and they were amazing the bone broth was delicious as well as the egg the pork belly had just the right amount of fat and was falling apart as i was trying to pick it up with my chopsticks. The pickled ginger was good and the carrots and the scallions. The whole dish was amazing. The food was the best. Top notch. For drinks i had hot green tea and it was delicious. The waiter was absolutely amazing. The food was beautifully delectable. If you don't have time for dining inside there is a street food side to order things to go or to sit and enjoy.

There are a few distinct pieces to this review, and let me start by saying the food was 5 star worthy. Really good, cool presentation, unique, perfect flavor balances - just outstanding really.
The ambiance was also nice. The decor and two story interior make it feel grand and formal in a way. We got to eat outside on the second story patio and the weather was perfect, we loved it.
The service was terrible. Our server was nice but not overly attentive, it took a long time for him to come to our table from the start and then once he did, it had been so long that we just ordered everything because we were ready, and after that he didn’t check in with us at all until we got his attention to refresh drinks. I also made it clear in the beginning when ordered that I am gluten free, and wanted all dishes prepared that way. I am 99% sure I was served my dish topped with a sauce containing gluten. So would I recommend coming here? With hesitation.

This review is for the Morimoto Street Food attached to the main restaurant. Morimoto should be ashamed to have this bear his name. I expected to see a chef preparing fresh street food. I have lived in Japan off and on for 5 years and this was a let down. You get a 7-Eleven/Lawson style plastic wrapped onigiri. They sell gyoza for $3 per individual dumping?!! What?!! The pork bun was not fresh. If I order an onigiri, I would expect a street food place to freshly make it in front of you. Skip this disappointing disaster.

I have been going here for over 5 years. Hein has always been our waiter and one of the reasons why we come back is for his outstanding service, always! However recently I spent $200 in the most awful food. The duck was overcooked , the old way fried rice was bland. The ribs were okay, but the ramen the pork one was just whatever honestly. I’m so disappointed in how much the restaurant has changed. It has gone up in price but decreased in value. If you do want to try something there tho I would do buri-bop and the sangria .

Disgusting honestly. The dumplings were absurdly overcooked to the point of being overcooked. The miso tasted like Orlando tap water with some miso dropped in. The salad was wilted. The fish was slightly weird and not at all fresh. The eel roll was SO smushy. I was nauseous for like an hour after eating. I used to love this place back in the day but now it's just bad. Very disappointing birthday meal as a local foodie. Blech. Service was alright. So many better options in Disney springs. This place is just as expensive as so many really good restaurants and just not worth your money at all.

We came here on our anniversary, 10/20, expecting a special experience, but the service was very disorganized. I’d noted in the reservation that it was our anniversary and that we planned to order the duck, so we’d need extra table space. Despite this, we waited 15 minutes past our reservation time and were seated at a tiny 2x3 ft table right by where servers enter and exit the kitchen — not ideal for a special meal.

When we asked for a different table, the host seemed reluctant, saying, “Uh, we only have outside. Are you sure you want to sit out there?” as if he didn’t want to take us upstairs. Throughout our time there, no one acknowledged our anniversary, despite the note in our reservation.

Overall, the staff seemed poorly trained and unable to handle a busy night. It was an extremely mediocre experience for a special occasion.

Where do I start.. Well, this is my second time at this restaurant. The first time we had the pork and the duck ramen (to keep it simple) and the pork ramen was actually really good. This second time going was not as good. Now the atmosphere obviously is amazing. Great pleace to wow your guest visually. There are also two ramps to enter the restaurant and an elevator for those with strollers or wheelchairs. The staff is great and very helpful. We requested to sit outside, upstairs, due to the great weather, and they accommodated our request. When it came down to the food, that is where it took a turn. We ordered sushi that came out tasting like it had been sitting out for a long time. Not fresh at all. Tonkotsu Ramen had a broth that tasted like water, over cooked egg, and okay to the taste, and a very overpriced, over hyped fried rice. The type of rice that I could get at any corner restaurant. They state it has duck and pock and shrimp. It had a few small shrimp, but it was hard to find anything else. I will say that it was filling at least, and the sauce made it better but not worth that price. When people say that it's "the best," I would say that it's okay at most. Hope that helps.

Came here for my sister’s birthday dinner, and there was literally nothing that wasn’t perfect. We decided to wait for our reservation time in the bar where a very kind young lady named Mikee helped us. Our table became immediately ready as soon as we ordered our drinks, and Mikee assured me that she would just bring our drinks to our table as soon as they were ready. Most places as a general rule water down their drinks or use far more mixers than the drink requires, but ours were perfect. Not too strong, not overpowering, just expertly balanced. Our server for the rest of the night was another very kind young lady named Tyana. She was very quick and polite, and she knew exactly how to guide us through our selections. We had the dumpling appetizer, pork I think, which was nice. Everyone likes dumplings. Tyana offered the idea of the ribs though as an additional appetizer, and the whole table is still talking about out it. They use a St. Louis style pork rib that looks as if it was given a little flour and cornstarch dip and then fried up and brought out with some sweet chili sauce over it. They were the best ribs my family’s ever had, and we were basically raised on ribs. Super tender, perfectly seasoned, and we all said several times that we needed to order more to go, until Tyana explained they are only made to order. That made us worry the ribs would not be as good once we got them home. My sister, the birthday girl, got a California roll. Everyone else at the table seemed to really like it, but that’s not my thing so I can’t speak to that particular piece of the meal. My mom got the lobster noodles, again something I’m not a fan of, but this dish didn’t go nearly as fast and more than half was left behind and not even attempted to be put in a container for leftovers. It looked like a ramen dish without the broth with a very generous portion of lobster on top. My mom made a remark that it wasn’t bad but that’s she’d never get it again. My fiancée and I split the Peking duck, because I love duck and she just couldn’t decide. It was the most delicious and perfectly cooked duck I’ve had in a long while. It comes with the breast meat sliced and the thigh meat is tucked under a couple of strips of crispy skin. A ramekin of plum sauce and another with duck sauce are on the side, and the dish is also served with a choice of bao buns, pancakes (tortillas for the uninitiated), or lettuce for wraps, and an option for some rice or noodles. We got the pancakes, and that was a lot of fun for me to watch my family try to figure out how to separate them due to how they are cooked and served. My fiancée knows I like noodles so we got that, but I think that was the only thing I didn’t have such a high regard for. They were cooked fine and the sauce they were in was okay, but it wasn’t really my favorite. At the end of the meal, they brought out a little ice cream filled pastry with a candle in it for my sister, which she loved, and boxed up the last drumstick of my duck for me. We will absolutely be making more trips here.

Morimoto ribs are why you go here...wow, so good. We got several apps, all were really good. The SuiMai was the stand-out. I did get the shrimp lomein which was a bit disappointing, shrimp was hard and over cooked and the lomein itself was just ramen noodles, soy sauce and a little oyster sauce. Tasted exactly like what I make at home for a quick dinner. I would avoid ordering anything that is exactly or sounds like it could be from just your local Chinese restaurant, it won't be worth it. Again, it's all aboit those ribs.

Our server, Anthony, was awesome. Really friendly and attentive. Had some great suggestions and ordering tips.

Really liked the restaurant as a whole. we sat on the bottom, which did feel cramped and was loud. I do like a view into the kitchen though, so I enjoyed that. Looking up, I would have much preferred to be seated on the 2nd floor. More interesting views, less crowded and assuredly less noisy.

Don't let the semi chain aspect scare you off - our food and the service were both terrific, best experience we had at Disney. Food was really nicely prepared even on a busy Friday night, sea bass special was beautiful, moist in the inside but slightly crisp char on the outside. Dumplings tasted freshly prepared, clean flavors and textures, not pre-made with the usual bullet of generic filling. Desserts were also a huge highlight - the Japanese style cheesecake is unique and a must-eat. Our service was top notice, very personal, patient, knowledgeable, and timely. We'll be back!

Food is really tasty. It was a hit with everyone after a long day of walking. Expensive but you're in Disney so you have to expect that. Peking Duck was delicious with Bao Buns

This place is AMAZING!!! The ambience is wonderful, the food is beyond words! Everyone should try the smoked Angel Envy cocktail! Angelique was a phenomenal cocktail expert! The absolute BEST part of our experience was our server Lana! She was so attentive, so kind, and so knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails. Do yourself a favor and just put the whole meal in her hands, you won't regret it! Thank you for being amazing!!!!!

Amazing and impressive spot tucked away in Disney Springs. The atmosphere was just nice to look at and the food smelled great and tasted even better. The menu has some classics and some elevated dishes for the more adventurous. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried rice and blood orange ginger ale. Whatever you order, it's hard to go wrong. If you get anything to go, make sure you ask for utensils.

Wow!! Have to say we went to Morimoto Asia when it opened many years ago. We decided to go again, made the reservation ahead of time... from start to end it was great. The service, the food, the drinks, and the dessert were impressive.
For appetizer we had crispy popcorn shrimp, they were perfectly made. Decided to get the Sake Sangria, which hit the spot last night and still this morning. For entree we had the Peking duck with bao buns and noodles, we got the Gomoku Fried Rice and the Morimoto spare ribs. Dessert was perfect for closure Japanese Soufflé Cheesecake. Great food, great times… Will highly recommend.

This place has really good atmosphere. I was walked upstairs to a nice table overlooking the whole place, waitstaff were great and very helpful.

The miso soup was fine, no real improvement over any sushi or steakhouse I've had, the bowl is bigger and the tofu were half inch cubes indtead of mini marshmallows you get elsewhere.. The pork egg rolls aren't greasy, they are an improvement over standard Chinese takeout, the apricot chili sauce is a nice touch. The tonkatsu ramen is not as good as Jinya's Tonkatsu black bowl, the soy egg is about the same, the pork sliced super thin, the noodles al dente, the other toppings ok, it's not the worst bowl I've ever had, maybe 2nd or 3rd best but the broth wasnt the warm hug of other places. The comparison to Jinya doesn't end there, there's dark wood, soft lighting and club music in both places. Morimoto has an atmosphere that makes you think John Wick is going to shoot bad guys and throw them off balconies at any moment.
The traditional stone grilled wagyu served tableside has all the showmanship of a fajita platter, they wipe the hot stone with wagyu fat then put the little servings on it at first there's fire from the fat, then there's smoke on the second round, the air clears quickly, but we know why Korean bbq places have range hoods. The meat was served medium rare at chef's suggestion, or how you like it otherwise. I went with their suggestion. It came with a special sauce a blend of vinegar and soy thry said to use sparingly. The little pillows of beef melt in your mouth, even better than the wagyu ribeye on a salt block I had at the Brazilian place.

So 2 very good dishes, 1 pretty good bowl of ramen but I've had better, 1 workmanlike miso soup. I'd have to eat around the menu some more and try for myself the things the food bloggers say are good.

The cheesecake was super whipped, light and fluffy, the strawberry bits in the sauce and the little scoop of sorbet were all really good.

The place is beautiful, and the staff was all very pleasant and attentive. Ultimately, though, the food turned out to be just average. The sushi was good but not great. We have a sushi place at home we like better. Same for the ramen. For the price, I expected more.

this has to be hands down one of the best restaurants at downtown Disney. the ambiance, the staff, the food is so amazing.. me and my husband celebrated our 10 yr anniversary here and from the moment we walked in we received excellent service.. Steven was our waiter and gave us some great tips from the menu for our dinner.. he always served us with a smile and a little joke.. He made our anniversary dining experience so special..Gemila, the manager checked in on us and also gave us some great recommendations for our next visit. I highly recommend Morimoto Orlando Asia… you will not be disappointed..

I will give the food and service as among some of the best. Don't like to give negative reviews, but want to relay my issue with the check. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 young children. Did not expect an 18 percent surcharge and got no advance notice that this was there policy. I only glanced at the itemization and left a 40 dollar cash tip. Long story/short, ended up tipping a total of $88.

We used double the points for our meal plan, and it was worth it. (But please check ahead of time if they are taking it since their system could be down) The food was fantastic! I was really surprised. Great quality, and the service was quick. Would definitely come again. Very upscale.

Food was spectacular. We went on a Monday for lunch and the service was super fast and the food was incredibly fresh. Cocktails were custom made (no pre-made mixed crap) and felt worth the price given their fresh ingredients. Would highly recommend.

After waiting so long to visit the place, we decided to go on my birthday. What a disappointment. The place is very nice, the waitress' service was very friendly, but the food was terrible, without any flavor. I don't recommend that you choose this place to go to eat sushi. There are better and cheaper places.

***still an absolutely amazing restaurant. If you're not sure what to order you can trust your servers recommendations.

My husband and I had a great time her. Our server, Francesca was fun and offered excellent customer service. The duck was perfect and the eel & avocado roll was delicious. I highly recommend this experience
