I 110% recommend this place both to dine-in and take out. Professional demeanor at service makes it easy to ask for dish recommendations. They have consistently provided my family and I the best Ramen we have had in Florida thus far. Give this place a go and you will be extremely happy with the consistency of delicious food you will receive. I have been coming back here ever since I discovered this place. Both owner and partner are great people, charismatic, and eager to continue to grow. Thank you for having the best Ramen and sushi! 5 stars!!

Sushi was delicious, you can taste the freshness. Also had garlic pork ramen, it’s a different taste, very flavorful. I would get again. Super friendly staff. Food came out quick. It literally is a whole in the wall place, would have never noticed it. GPS directions aren’t the greatest. Personally I had to go down 41 like if i was going to the mall and do a u turn.

This was an amazing place to eat, the food was delicious. The guy serving us was so very sweet, and very silly in the best way possible. The environment felt like you where in a little shop, being run by a sweet man who is just following his dream. I recommend the Tonkotsu ramen it was amazing. The place isn't extreme, but it's the fact that he's trying his hardest that matters most!! Please come try this place so you can experience it too!!! 🫶🫶

I usually make substitutions for my dishes but I forgo my own preferences for his recommendations. Never has let me down. I highly recommend his curry buns and Shojin ramen

I'm not even done eating yet and I'm posting. This will absolutely be my go to ramen spot. My girl is vegan and I'm gluten free and we just had these big old bowls of ramen. The miso kimchi broth is everything and the rice noodles are perfect. Well done!! I'm so happy this is by my house!

Cant believe I havent heard of this place best sushi ever got the salmon tempura yum and the hibachi. amazing prices, delicious, not skimpy. Even though I had mishap that caused me to be late they were beyond kind and understanding & gave me 2 cold water bottles instead of one . definitely coming back

Having lived in Japan, I can very comfortably say that this place delivers the most authentic experience. There is a huge emphasis on the quality of ingredients. Shojin by far has the most authentic flavor that truly stands apart from many of the ramen places in the area. The sushi is very fresh and properly proportioned. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

The BEST place for a delicious late night meal and the service was so informative, friendly, and helpful! It’s small and hidden, but you can just tell the quality and love the owner puts into his food from the first bite. I’m so impressed by the enthusiasm and knowledge the woman who served us had bc she hyped up the food and did NOT let us down. I’ll be returning again for sure because I haven’t had ramen this tasty and flavorful down here in AGES. Please don’t let the outside fool you, try it out! It’s gonna be your new favorite restaurant <3

Place may look kind of dingy but the owner is a very passionate man who cares about his food.
Highly recommend. We got ramen, both the szechuan tonkotsu ramen and the garlic. Pork was tender and flavor up and the broth was rich and well done.
The egg was a full uncut hard boiled egg so not a marinated egg so that wasn't the best. We got extra vegetables which we felt was what it needed. I'd like some bamboo shoots and maybe some more green onion personally but it was still good. Ramen noodles were the thicker kind. There are different styles of ramen noodles and you don't see the thicker ones too often. At least at the shops I've been too.
We also got the pork steam buns. The cost was a good deal for these and while they aren't stuffed to the brim with pork I liked that. It was a good balance and the dough was nice and not overcooked or under looked.
Finally we also had some sushi and the seared tuna mango roll was great and they served with some sushi sauce which was a thick soy sauce based sause on the side for dipping.
They do an omakase that we want to try out as well.
Definitely great hole in the wall that could use some extra attention from locals. Look past the book cover on this one.

Not only is the owner the sweetest thing, the coconut boba was FIRE!! We had the bao, steamed buns, cilantro yellowtail sushi and 4 different ramen bowls. Everything was fresh and delicious. No complaints at all. I agree with another review, a little music would compliment the experience, but the conversation with friends and the owner worked out perfect. I’ve never written a review before, but I figured out how to just so I could rave about this place. Hands down best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s fresh and authentic and you have the ability to customize your roll. The service was also so unreal, the guy working took the time to explain the menu to me without making me feel stupid for asking. Not to be dramatic, but I will probably never eat at another sushi/ramen/hibachi place ever again.

the most delicious meal that has ever graced my mouth. this restaurant is my roman empire. such a homey atmosphere. the owner is so friendly and kind in recommending menus. he made sure to let us know that we are welcome to take our time and that it's a home here. he even gave us a complimentary tiramisu cake !!! it's my birthday too so that was extra sweet ! we got steamed bao buns with tofu and egg and just gotta say no other food could be as delicious as that. it was the fluffiest, most cloud-like thing in your mouth. it felt like walking on air but delicious air. i felt like god for a moment. i got the miso kirichian ramen and it was so so delicious. the vegetable broth is amazing, the texture is really light and the broth like saturated the tofu so it made for a delicious bite. the vegetables had a nice crunch and fit perfect with every spoon. I cannot express how many times I would recommend this place to everyone i know, this is going to become my new favorite restaurant. if you want food to be a reason you love life, go here !!!!

The best ramen in SWFL hands down. Service matched the quality.
Visited a year ago
A hidden gem for sure . could use some music but the food is 100 percent hand made and to die for . the egg rolls were presented in such a nice way rather than just some rolls in a bag, instead they were cut up and on a plate and then 2 sauces were drizzled neatly on them. the price is 100% worth it. my only “complaints” which are more just comfort suggestions would just be presentation of the restaurant it’s self, music to combat the silence and filter the leaves out of the boba . Other than that it’s very much hand made with great love and care. Amazing experience for a small hidden place.

Absolutely the best soup, let alone ramen, I've ever had ever. I got the kimchi miso, and my husband got the miso ramen. They make their own kimchi which is sweet and sour with a very nice flavor, same with the miso which is creamy. Fresh ingredients in a hardy broth, perfect for the rainy day, but I'd be happy to have it any time. The mango boba was pretty good too! We got there pretty early, so only the cook was there, but he was super friendly and was happy to chat with us. The only possible complaint (a SMALL one) is that the place is very small, but honestly with food this good, who cares?

Overall: A nice, small, comfy bowl that's a little more expensive than what I'm used to seeing.
Details:
I've heard about this place from a coworker who gave it a pretty good recommendation. Having had ramen in both Austin, TX and Japan, I had to temper my expectations a bit before checking it out.
I got an order of gyoza and their house special. Granted if I wanted to do a base comparison, a basic tonkotsu would have been better but I was curious and it was expensive for a basic bowl.
The gyoza came out looking and smelling pretty good. They're no Japanese style gyoza which are usually flatter and crispier. These are more Chinese style with a much nicer crisp around the edges and fairly plump than the usual. It came with some mayo and Lao Gan Ma which went well with it. The green onions were a nice touch.
The ramen later came and immediately noticed a few things. The pork seem to be the kind you would see in a stir fry, the egg seemed lightly fried after being boiled, a small assortment of vegetables were on the side, and the broth seemed to be in low tide. It's like a mixture of pho, Chinese stir fry, and ramen. Not a typical bowl but wouldn't be unusual in the more experimental parts of Tokyo that use chocolate, milk, or bugs in their ramen. And even straight up mapo tofu with a very thick sauce. The pork was very well done and juicy. The noodles were a familiar kind which I suspect is the same kind most ramen shops use.
The things that threw me off were the egg, veggies, and broth. The egg is hardboiled, a little over cooked even. This was a bit disappointing. Usually ramen eggs are soft boiled at least. I'm not sure if this is caution on the part of the owner with food safety, regular customers not liking soft boiled eggs, or something else. Hopefully the owner will consider adding the option of a soft boiled ramen egg especially since the menu already strangely has options for noodles that isn't used in ramen.
The veggies were a little strange here. By the time I got to the bottom, mixing the veggies and broth made it feel like I was eating a fusion of pho and ramen. Not that you'd find corn in pho, but it still felt that way.
The broth was the biggest mystery. It was nice and creamy. Comforting even. Literally nothing wrong with it except there wasn't enough of it. In most shops, the broth would fill the bowl near to the top. In the one I ordered, it barely filled the bottom. Maybe it's different with the other bowls, but it was a lot less than what I usually see unless it was tsukemen which is more concentrated and meant to be dipped in. I wonder if it's because there's usually a lot of broth wasted after someone finishes a bowl. I can understand that since most people don't finish off the broth. As a broth lover and one who believes the broth is the essence of a bowl, I can only be left wondering and wanting a little more.
Overall, it's nice and comforting with some very obvious fusion of Japanese and Chinese noodle bowl styles at least for their house special. Maybe the other bowls are more traditional. Very worthy of respect for the area it's in. Just a tad expensive for what you get, but what's not in Fort Myers?

I understand this is primarily a ramen place but I was expecting better Sushi than the 2/5 I got here. Taste is not there compared to the majority of sushi dedicated places. At least one step behind all of the sushi places in Cape. Portion sizes were small. Generic cheap soy sauce packets included.
I would not ever get sushi from this place again. Will try their Ramen next time I order from here.

The owner was super nice and helpful sharing his new menu ideas and innovations. This little hole in the wall restaurant is fantastic and we will definitely be coming back for more! Thankyou!!!

I wish I could give it 6 stars. Went on a whim at lunch and ordered the Pho Noodle lunch special with beef. It was outstanding. Do yourself a favor and try this place. I can’t wait to make my way through the menu.

Place had some of the best sushi. Hand made by one guy, who is the owner.

The owner personally called to check on our delivery. Very impressed with the service and the Ramen. Highly recommend and glad that Fort Myers finally has amazing Ramen available.

We ordered for delivery for this first time from this place. We both got Miso Ramen 🍜 with egg noodles one with chicken and one with pork and it was AMAZING! We also ordered the pork buns and they were just as amazing! We can’t wait to have it again and try more!

talk about an amazing hole in the wall, hands down one of my absolute favorite places to go now and the owner is such a humble down to earth good guy there's not many like him I definitely recommend. p. s. order the ramen with extra mushrooms they're amazing. I honestly can't get enough just went here with whole family

Excellent service. Food is very good and fresh! The Uni special right now is to die for $10 for 2 bluefin tuna with uni). Beef ramen is on point with the thick chewy noodles and rich broth. Pork barn mi is a great light lunch loaded with flavor. And they have BOBA!

Great food in a centrally located spot. Friendly owner

Friendly service and tasty ramen! You can even customize your noodle option. We also got the pork bao which was delicious.
Atmosphere is your typical hole-in-the-wall. Only problem was that it was hot as the Florida summer inside the restaurant. There were several fans running without much effect. Skip the boba tea as the boba inside had a very unpleasant taste and dried out texture.

It was OK, server was pleasant, food was good, when I asked for bill after the girl walked away I noticed a baby cockroach on the floor which ruined the whole experience. To be honest now I'm not sure I'll be going back again. Sorry just being honest.

This used to be a Vietnamese pho restaurant. Now they serve fantastic home made Ramen. The site front itself is really small and unassuming with a back alley Ramen shop feel of the market streets in Japan. If you are looking for authentic takes all day to prepare tonkotsu Ramen broth and a very friendly owner that comes out to see how you're enjoying your meal this is the place.

Wasn't a horrible sandwich. Veggies are only sliced not pickled. Pork had some type of sauce on it which tasted a lot like cloves. Never had a bahn mi with corn and peas in it before. 🤷♂️

We actually had the pleasure of sitting inside to eat and they were very short staffed that day and not only was the service amazing but the food was too, it’s run by very kind and honest people and i’ll be sure to return :)

Had a ramen craving and was recommended this place by Google. I was a little sketched out where it was located but the inside was cozy and nice. The woman who greeted us was nice, the almond Boba tea was good and tasty. The ramen was amazing. I got the rice noodle with pork and it tasted awesome. There was so much of it that I had to take the rest home.
Will have to come back, the ramen is too good not to.

The food was quite good, the ramen is even better than I could’ve imagined. Perhaps even more impressive than the food was the kindness and friendliness of the owner. It was busy in the restaurant and He gave us a free appetizer completely unprompted and it was very nice of him to do.

Food tasted very good and staff was nice but the restaurant was very clearly short staffed. I can't fault them for that so 5 stars

To be fair, back when the place was "Saigon Sandwich," it was a five-star place. Now they've renamed to Shojin Ramen, kept the old menu (yes, you can still get the fantastic banh-mi sandwiches and pho, thank whatever deity you favor), and added (you guessed it) Ramen.
Now, I'm no expert on ramen, since before visiting on 03/2/2022, I'd never had ramen that didn't come in a packet. With no basis for comparison, I enjoyed it very much. But, at $14 for the pork ramen w/ Udon, I would have preferred to get the Pho. A 12-oz can of soda is 150% more expensive, at $2.50. For Pepsi. Ouch.
The staff is friendly and courteous, they put up drapes to keep out the Florida glare, all good stuff. I really hope they'll be around long enough to realize their namesake product is about $3-5 too expensive. Until they do, I'll get the pork special banh-mi sandwich and a bowl of pho for about the same price as a bowl of ramen and a Diet Pepsi, and be stuffed and happy.

A hidden gem! I have been looking for a good ramen spot for 3 years and Shojin fit the bill! So yummy! The broth was just right, the pork seasoned and fragrant, and the fried egg was not greasy or super runny. We also ordered pork bao buns. They were just as good as the ones that I used to eat in California. Highly, highly recommend!

If I can give more stars I would! The restaurant is faintly new, but the atmosphere is very welcoming. The food was really good and we didn’t really have to wait too long for our food. We’ve tried the sushi rolls (we recommend the shojin classic rolls!), bao buns (these were a grabber in our table it’s really delicious aka a must try!) as well of course the ramen. The ramen broth was very tasty! Legit have no complaints about it. Truly happy there is finally a ramen place in Fort Myers. I got egg noodles for my ramen and wasn’t disappointed. Not only is the restaurant really good, but the owner is very kind.
He’s very welcoming and is so excited to explain the dishes to you and the fusion between different asian cultural food in one at his restaurant.
Overall, this place is a must try and worth the drive. You won’t be disappointed. Plus, if you love spiciness make sure to try his homemade chili oil, legit the best chili oil I’ve ever tried.

change of ownership brought change of prices and most importantly recipes. disgusting sandwiches. disgusting bread. before the change crusty bread, crunchy pickled carrots, now stale bread and BOILED carrots and fried onions? blehhhhh. and another thing. it is a minor thing, but unpleasant. i left a tip and i remember exactly how much that was in total. check my bank and it's a buck more. i am not a fool. i hope the previous owners get their things straight and reopen. their food was delicious. i have 2 restaurants under a mile from my home who serve vietnamese food, i chose saigon sandwiches every time. not a good experience with new owners. for shame.

When I went to college in the area, I had an addiction to this place. The pho would make my eyes roll to the back of my head and see stars it was so doggone good. This is the spot right here and I highly recommend.

Used to go here before the new owners. Do not order pho thinking you're going to get traditional pho, the broth isnt good. The meat (beef in this case) was tougher than john cena and the sparse veggies were just that, sparse. And the Bahn mi was terrible also. The owner however was very nice!

Great ramen and staff. Came out very quick and you can taste the freshness of each individual bite (or slurp). Haven’t seen ramen in fort myers for a long time. The owner came out and spoke to me, Benji is a nice man and you could tell by speaking to him that he has a true love for cooking. Can’t wait to return!

My Ramen and Sushi loving mind is blown! The owner who is also the chef and an AMAZING one at that! We went for the Ramen and tried a few other dishes including a few different rolls, a stir fry and some tuna nigiri. Chef Benjill explained what was served and in some cases the process of how it was made. Clearly a high quality chef!
Shojin Ramen Sushi has only been open for a couple of months but is definitely a hidden gem in the world of Southwest Florida restaurants! I’m so glad we found it and will definitely return soon.

Authentic and tasty Asian fusion cuisine here. I went in for lunch and see the store is under new ownership. The menu features a variety of Asian foods, such as ramen, dim sum, stir fry, and sushi. I was impressed with dinner if there sushi offerings, such as monk fish liver, which I'll have too try on a future visit. For this visit I ordered the ramen and a white tuna (escolar) roll with kimchi and daikon (white giant radish). The ramen was outstanding! You get a choice of noodles (egg, rice, or udon) and choice of protein (pork, chicken, beef, or tofu). I recommend the traditional egg noodles...and I also got the beef. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. It even included the traditional soft cooked egg (fried in this case). The broth was right and there whole dish was put together just right! The sushi roll was a combination I've never had before, and the flavor combination was perfect! The owner brought out accompaniments, including kimchee, wasabi, hot sesame oil, Sriracha, and of course, soy sauce. The atmosphere is casual.... Order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It's small and clean, I counted 22 chairs. This gem is a must try for anyone who enjoys exploring Asian fusion cuisine. I know I will be back!!

The food was fantastic and was freshly made. I would highly recommend as the owner was very nice and helpful, and he even offered to make another bowl of Ramen after he accidentally used the wrong noodle. On top of that since we didn't want the extra bowl to take home he gave us free bubble tea. The bubble tea was also very good. I will be coming back.
