Our first time here and I must say, it was delightful. Joseph was our waiter r and he was very knowledgeable.Excellent recommendations & five star service. We had grilled octopus smoked salmon, avocado toast, a rainbow roll and a wagyu burger, and it was outstanding.

Had a great experience, the food and service was amazing! Our waiter Jake was very attentive and helpful with our son’s nut allergy. The menu has everything you crave from sushi to Latin food. My favorite was the red dragon roll and steak and chimichurri. Highly recommended!

I recently celebrated New Year’s Eve at Casa Sensei in Fort Lauderdale, and it was truly a fantastic experience! Despite the large crowd, the staff did an incredible job accommodating everyone, ensuring that the atmosphere remained lively yet comfortable.

The dinner menu was a highlight of the evening. I can't recommend the Mongolian beef enough—it was perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. The blue crab Rangoons were equally impressive, with just the right amount of creaminess and a crispy exterior that made them irresistible.

Our waiter, Wern, was simply outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and really enhanced our dining experience with his recommendations and made our evening an enjoyable one.

Overall, Casa Sensei made our New Year’s Eve memorable with delicious food and excellent service. I can't wait to return!

The ambiance/environment/setting is very nice. We went for lunch on Saturday and we sat at a table right next to the water’s edge. You will seen in photos that most (all of them I think) of the tables are covered by umbrellas. And they also have patio seating covered by a roof also (closer to the building).
They have a very extensive menu. A large portion of the menu is small plates/tapas style. Another large portion of the menu is sushi rolls. We order a lobster roll, and it was good, though we had them add cucumber and carrot to it for a little more flavor. They also had a brunch menu (weekends only I believe) and a nice drink menu. I like wine and they had an okay selection of wines to choose from.
Prices aren’t too unreasonable, maybe a little high but you’re paying for ambiance.
The service was good, our waiter was mostly available when we needed him. And he was very, polite, professional and helpful.
And we received cotton candy with our check😀 I think they do this for all customers.
And of course they offer gondola rides (see pictures) with an optional meal offered by the restaurant. This is on my bucket list to do….
Overall we were very happy. We will definitely return.

so boom… server-wise. Our first server reminded me of a Jeeves; a lil fonceh, not very conversational, not sure if he knows how to laugh, but definitely knew his stuff. Second server - fun, light-hearted, conversational, prompt.

atmosphere-wise… maximizes the use of a small-ish indoor space. modern vibe. have fun IG Influenzas.

food-wise… what’s a few hits without a couple misses I guess. They say their food is done to order, I have a 3-minute-from-order-to-table Peking Duck that begs to disagree. Overdone like it’s been sitting out for a while, but am I a Chef? No. The Rock Shrimp Tempura & Pork Bao Buns were decent. Charred Octopus was yummy, Chino Sticky Ribs? Give me 14 of those right now, *tap tap*.
The drinks? Nice lil flavor, not very strong. Overall, I’d go back to try a couple more things.

"Mark" Our server was excellent; he was knowledgeable about the menu and knew exactly what to do. The food came out fast. He was very efficient and a pleasant person to talk to. I had a sweet-and-sour chicken. It was excellent with rice. Table next the water atmosphere was great Kim had. Korean skirt steak that was actually very tender overall a good value and a nice place to eat

Food was delicious had vegan options as well. Came for brunch and food and service was on point. Kim provided amazing service and was super attentive and catered to all our needs, even got a surprise at the end. Definitely 11 out of 10.

A 3.5 would be a honest score. Overall food is hit and miss. I really enjoyed things like the grilled octopus with Mango and papaya but for example the shrimp dumplings were below average. Service was great as it is in many places in the US. And the atmosphere was enjoyable. I usually like it less noisy but it wasn't too bad.

I have to apologize for the lack of quality in these images as well as plates of food that did not make it onto the camera roll. Casa Sensei was truly an incredible, flavorful and phenomenally serviced experience. We had made a reservation, and it’s essential especially on a weekend. They are busy, busy. Our waiter was sweet, kind and attentive to detail, she offered us some great suggestions from the menu. The food comes out on a ready first basis, and QUICKLY! The popcorn with kimchi butter was something we had never tried, and I can’t tell you how we fought over the last little pieces. We ordered the Drunken Roll (didn’t make the photo reel cut…we indulged) the shogun roll (is in the photos), that has fresh Wagyu on the roll. Blue crab Rangoons (photo available) & a sesame chicken to share, (which didn’t make the reel either)…it was just TO good. We shared the Aladdin sake & were treated to cotton candy and a cupcake for celebrating ! Recommend, recommend, recommend!

Environment was lovely, you can dine either inside, at the bar or outside by the water. We had a table outside by the water, an absolute breath of fresh air.

Came to this lovely establishment last week and was blown away by the bartender. I ordered a dirty martini and it was the best I’ve ever had, I believe her name was Devinne :) seriously, best bartender she had. The sweetest smile was very friendly and such positive energy. Shout out to DEVINNE!!!

We waited 30 minutes after our reservation time to get seated. The receptionist and “manager” had demonstrated zero empathy or cared when we brought up the excessive wait time.
The service which has been good in the past was equally subpar. We waited 15-20 minutes to get a bottle of wine. No kimchi popcorn or cotton candy (machines broken - It happens) but after mentioning to the reception and waiter that we were celebrating my sister birthday, nothing was done / acknowledged in that regard.
A really poor experience overall to say the least.

Senhor Tomas from Brazil was our server, and he was wonderful. The Asian Latin fusion comidas and cocktails were delicious. Hopefully in 2025, Padre Sensei will add some more adventurous desserts (postres) to the menu - such as the Wasabi Flan, the Pulpo Paleta, and the Tres Umami Leches de Erizos Del Mar cake.

Came here with coworkers for an early dinner on a Thursday. Personally I think the food was ok. I had the General Tso Chicken as an app and crispy duck for my entree. I’m glad they use real chicken however, I think they use breasts instead of thighs for the General Tsos and you can taste the difference. The duck was excellent but I could’ve done without the vegetable fried rice. Service was great and so is the atmosphere.

We were looking forward to trying Casa Sensei after all the great reviews but it really disappointed. We ordered food for takeout and everything we ordered was completely wrong. Pad Thai had no chicken or bean sprouts and was really sweet, the sesame chicken was so dry and hard, the truffle edamame had absolutely no truffle, and the truffle crunch sushi was $20 for imitation crab? Wouldn’t have ordered it if I knew it wasn’t even real crab! Very disappointed & upsetting!!!

We were excited to celebrate our anniversary during our first visit at Casa Sensei; one bonus is how close it is in proximity to other good dining options, as our service left us unsatisfied with our experience. Our server greeted us, took our first (and only) round of drinks and food order, and then we didn't get checked in on at all with him going forward. We were waiting to order another round of drinks, dessert, and a water top-off, but never got the opportunity. Thankfully, a different server stopped and passed along our request for the check. When our server finally came, he seemed aware that he had ignored us for most of our experience, and tried to ask if we wanted our anniversary cupcake; while we felt gypped, we kindly declined, as we weren't interested in spending anymore time there or money to his benefit, confirming we only wanted our check. He picked it up to run the card, then disappeared for another 20 mins.

What started as a strong experience ended in disappointment due to the lack of our server's attentiveness, but the drinks and food were all delicious. We shared the Tokyo ahi tuna tower, The Maxxx and Hamachi Katana rolls paired well together, and my partner raved about his Mongolian duck dish. The coconut aperol margarita was original and delicious, and I would have gladly had another, had the opportunity presented itself. We opted to get a second round of drinks and dessert elsewhere, and we had better service at the next destination.

The service we received was bad enough to consider never returning, despite the amazing food and drinks. Not addressing this issue is a detriment to the establishment as the rest of the staff members were left picking up his slack. Perhaps our server was having a bad night, but if we decide to return, we would definitely avoid sitting in his section.

Dim sum basket leaked oil. The table and my felt coat got covered with it. Miso soup is served in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon. Our waiter was late for everything because he was busy with taking shots/drinks to those tables who were asking for shots back to back. Instead of putting requests into an order he gives priority to those high spending tables. Average food, TINY portions.

Extremely disappointed. One of the plantains had a metal piece inside of it somehow. It was bitten in and luckily was bitten flat so didn’t cut the mouth. The manager apologized but seemed to brush it off. Rather than doing anything about it, something that is very serious and could have resulted in a hospital visit, the manager didn’t come back and just offered dessert which is something we didn’t want since we were going to go somewhere else for dessert. We did want the cotton candy only bc it comes with the dinner anyway. So they didn’t offer anything to discount the meal that had metal in it and still added the dessert to the receipt but made it look like they gave it to us by giving 100% off the dessert we never got. If there is metal in your meal I would expect this to be taken care of very differently than what it was. Not sure why there is a manager if they can’t even handle something so incredibly dangerous and just apologize and walk away and instead of just removing the meal off the receipt they offer a dessert we never wanted. Honestly the audacity. We weren’t looking for anything to be free or the meal to be free. We booked this trip in July bc we have been here many times booked the reservation months in advance. Excited and spoke about this place to our family since July. We even took the time to book the reservation waterside for the ambience. Server was outstanding, very disappointed in the manager and the lack of follow thru on such a serious situation.

We have been to this restaurant numerous times and it never disappoints. The menu is fantastic and the ambience is perfect. All of the staff are always superb, but on our last visit Mark was our server and he was terrific. In my opinion Casa Sensei has to be one of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.

We had an awesome dinner tonight with our server Joseph. He had a great personality along with his wealth of knowledge enhanced our experience. My only complaint is the broken AC. Although we had a portable unit where we sat the restroom and other parts of the restaurant were not as fortunate.

Beware this restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and competent enough but told us he had tried everything on the extensive menu and had worked there five years. He immediately established himself as somewhat of an expert on the restaurant and menu. Then he upsold us on everything we ordered. We had a total of 12 cocktails (there were 7 of us) and each time we ordered a cocktail or dinner item, he recommended a different alcohol or slight substitution that seemed to make sense. When we got the bill, we realized that each change he suggested had cost an extra $4 to 12.00. We walked out with a ridiculously high bill, completely unnecessarily. We feel dumb for falling for this, but ultimately it is the fault of the establishment. We would never go back to this place for that reason alone. As I said, BEWARE.

Honestly would give an extra couple stars just for our waiter because he did his absolute best and was the only redeeming quality of this place.
To start off, we had a reservation at 7:15 and didn’t get sat until 7:50, but walk ins got seated immediately before us despite us not having specific area we were being sat in. I understand it was a holiday, which makes any part of restaurant biz difficult, but there was outright no explanation or help offered the entire time we were there.
As for the food, it was below average at best. The sushi was comparable to grocery store sushi, and the fried rice was over salty and very dry.
Like I said our waiter was SO great and tried his best to give a great experience, however the restaurant itself had bad organization where our waiter was constantly being interrupted by staff and was set up to fail by the restaurant. I really wanted to love this place for the location and the concept, but I would honestly not recommend this place to anyone.

Some of the food was mid. A lot of it was bad. Showed up for a reservation at 715 and didn’t get seated until 745. (The waiting area was SO HOT turn on the AC) Random couple walked in with no reservation and got seated before us.
Empanadas were bad. No flavor, oily.
Got sushi for 1 and it was so bad. The specialty roll that came with it tasted like old Publix sushi literally no flavor.
Best thing was the steak fried rice but even that was a 5/10. Oily and just not good.
Maybe the restaurants soy sauce is bad too? Idk.
Also water on the floors inside. Almost slipped twice. Crowded seating area by us. Really bad ambiance. Employees interrupting our poor server while he was trying to take our order which was Weird and annoying. Server tried his best but the restaurant around him was failing unfortunately. The location is great and we wanted to love this place. Unfortunately would never come back.

So let me start by saying that the food was awesome, flavorful and served in a great presentation…the main issue I had was the waitress who dampened a first timer’s experience 😒 our waitresses was not attentive, got our order wrong and put in things out of order. Ultimately we got the manager, Marc, who saved the rest of the experience. He was apologetic for the lackluster service and stated that he spoke to our waitress about the bad experience. If I could rate them separately I would give Marc 5 stars and the lady -1 star I ordered the steak with fried rice and maduros…everything was cooked perfectly. We had an awesome view of the water and the atmosphere was spot on. I would go back to try the sushi bc it looked great!

We weren’t sure where to go but wanted to grab dinner and saw casa sensei. The menu is accommodating to all. I had the chimichurri Korean skirt steak. My boyfriend doesn’t eat skirt steak, but had four slices of mine! The chimichurri sauce was delicious! The service was great. Our server was Mark and definitely ask for him when you’re seated. We had a great table along the new river. He made suggestions which we took him upon and everything was delicious

So moving to Fort Lauderdale two years ago and looking at all the tip restaurants lists, Casa Sensei has been on my bucket list for a long time. Finally went today for a very rare mid-Saturday "brunch" and it was very nice eating dockside. Each table gets complimentary kitchen popcorn appetizers and cotton candy dessert which is dramatic.

The food was great and the service even better. I had an issue with my blood sugar dropping and feeling very faint. They were quick about bringing me water, giving me their cotton candy that comes with the check, and assisting with boxing our food. The only issue is that it is very warm on the inside of the restaurant and that didn’t help.

We ordered the crab Rangoon, tempura cauliflower and broccoli, spring mix salad, truffle edamame, jasmine rice, and Korean Chimichurri steak with fried rice. Every dish was 10/10

It's a nice cozy restaurant. The sushi was fresh but the Pad Thai was a little bit too sweet and didn't have the peanuts. Service was on point. The only thing is that there was a group of people behind us that were being obnoxious... But I love the atmosphere very nice deck seating by the river and relaxing lounge music.

We took our friends from out of town as it's one of our favorite restaurants. We sat outside right by the water as it was a perfect night to do so. Alex was our server and made many wonderful suggestions on the excellent and extensive menu - he is very friendly and attentive! We started off w/the charred octopus and sticky ribs. Both were extremely tender and flavorful. Also ordered the Sensei Fried rice and pork dumplings, 4 rolls and the Korean chimichurri steak. Everything was consumed and no crumb was left behind! Old Fashioned cocktails (multiple) and a Coconut Aperol Margarita was also consumed. Great night out sharing sublime food w/wonderful friends - nothing better! Definitely a go-to spot - can't go wrong here!

This was our third experience at this restaurant and it was excellent from start to finish. Our server Francisco was fantastic, attentive from beginning to end. My wife and I shared 5 dishes. We requested that they be served one at a time. Many restaurants fail with this request but Francisco ensured it's success meticulously. The Octopus was outstanding, great flavour and cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were delicious and cooked to medium rare as requested. We were full by the time the last dish was served but the flank steak was again cooked to perfection,exactly as ordered and full of flavor. This is the kind of restaurant where I enjoy paying the bill as all the elements were perfect.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Casa Sensei while visiting family in Miami. Our dockside table provided the perfect setting for a memorable evening with our son and his wife, as well as my sister and her husband.

Excellent service—our waiter was super attentive and made sure everything was taken care of. However, the food was terrible. I’ve always come here for the sushi, which is very good, but this time we decided to try other dishes, and they were all awful. Nothing was redeemable. The pork buns were pure fat, the Pad Thai was drowning in sauce and didn’t taste good, the sesame chicken had an inedible texture, and the rice had no flavor. Even the Sprite we ordered tasted bad. Very disappointing overall. Honestly, the only thing I can recommend here is the sushi

Café Sense
Went with a friend last Saturday night we had a reservations for 7 PM. We were seated quickly at an outdoor table as I had requested. I had also advised that my friend was celebrating a birthday. The décor inside and out is beautiful, simple yet sexy. Sitting outside is very romantic as it overlooks the canal, with the trees, all lit up around, and a gondola outside available for rent.

Our server was Blake and he was exceptional. He was very attentive without being overbearing. He quickly took our drink orders and was attentive.

It was a festive atmosphere sitting outside, especially since it seemed that one table after another was celebrating a birthday. To celebrate birthdays the staff comes over sings a lively happy birthday with a big sizzler going, and they will also bring a dessert and candle. It’s very tastefully done, and they did the same for my friend.

It was wonderful, but sadly... the food was disappointing…and that’s being kind. I had been dreaming about their advertised $40 hamburger on the menu. I only have a burger once or twice a year so I want it to be worth it. I was disappointed. First of all the cheese, which I believe might’ve been provolone on top was already kind of dried out when the plate was put before me. It’s if as though the plate has been sitting for a while. Beyond that there was nothing really tasty about the burger and especially not the meat which was bland and dry. I kept thinking about the burgers that RokBurger used to sell and they were so delicious I think because they were made with short rib meat . This $40 burger did not hold a candle to a burger a fourth of the price. My friend had the pork dim sum… which I had a little taste of, and it was tasty. She also ordered the Mongolian beef and was not impressed. Meanwhile, the main reason for coming to this restaurant was because she had heard such incredible things about the food. I don’t know if they were having a bad night or what happened.

But the atmosphere was so nice that I would be willing to go back again and try some other things to eat to give of the restaurant another try.

Another wonderful thing is that there’s a parking garage attached to the restaurant so that may parking very easy, a little pricey at $10 an hour, but definitely convenient.

I recommend for the ambiance.

Casa Sensei is a vibe for sure if you’re looking for good sushi with nice ambiance. For waterfront dining the sushi prices are quite fair. The rolls are not the biggest but pack a good flavor punch. The Blue Crab Rangoon was super fire with an amazing dipping sauce different then anything I’ve had. I had a smoky mezcal based cocktail that was amazing and the complimentary cotton candy was a nostalgic yummy treat. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The ambiance/environment/setting is very nice. We went for lunch on Saturday and we sat at a table right next to the water’s edge. You will seen in photos that most (all of them I think) of the tables are covered by umbrellas. And they also have patio seating covered by a roof also (closer to the building).
They have a very extensive menu. A large portion of the menu is small plates/tapas style. Another large portion of the menu is sushi rolls. We order a lobster roll, and it was good, though we had them add cucumber and carrot to it for a little more flavor. They also had a brunch menu (weekends only I believe) and a nice drink menu. I like wine and they had an okay selection of wines to choose from.
Prices aren’t too unreasonable, maybe a little high but you’re paying for ambiance.
The service was good, our waiter was mostly available when we needed him. And he was very, polite, professional and helpful.
And we received cotton candy with our check😀 I think they do this for all customers.
And of course they offer gondola rides (see pictures) with an optional meal offered by the restaurant. This is on my bucket list to do….
Overall we were very happy. We will definitely return.

We had an amazing experience at Casa Sensei! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. What truly stood out was the exceptional service we received from our waiter, Mark. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect dining experience.

Mark gave excellent recommendations, ensured our glasses were always full, and even took the time to check on us multiple times without being intrusive. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely passionate about customer service, and it made all the difference.

A 3.5 would be a honest score. Overall food is hit and miss. I really enjoyed things like the grilled octopus with Mango and papaya but for example the shrimp dumplings were below average. Service was great as it is in many places in the US. And the atmosphere was enjoyable. I usually like it less noisy but it wasn't too bad.

Came here for my birthday and was not impressed. The atmosphere was nice, we sat outside. The ribs were yummy, but we were told they don't come without the sauce (someone at the table has an allergy to the sauce)... but the website says everything is made from scratch 🤔. The drinks weren't anything to write home about - lacking alcohol. I was so excited about my pad thai, but unfortunately, that was disappointing. It was dry and bland, and the noodles were harder than they should've been. I took it home, added some water & spices, and it was better. If you're looking for amazing pad thai, go to Thai Spice in Oakland Park.

right when we walked in, the hostess was eating, her mouth full and she was incredibly unprofessional. the entire restaurant is empty, save for one table — the hostess decides the best table to seat us is right next to the only occupied table as if there aren’t any other options. ridiculous. the food was good— nothing out of the ordinary, simple and sufficient. our server was kind and thorough with checking in. overall i would give it 3.5 stars

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the good to very good reviews for our stay today. We were looking forward to a nice evening in a nice restaurant and were very disappointed. Although we had a reservation, we were seated at the last table away from other guests. Then it took a quarter of an hour before we were served, but only when we asked. The food was then served before the drinks, but at least the quality was very good. All in all, we had imagined the evening to be different.

We have got to bring down the reviews on this place because the service and food were god awful DO NOT be fooled by the 4.6 stars it has. This place is a scam. I was charged $21 for a gin martini that tasted like water and hand sanitizer after our table waited 45 minutes for service. If you are going to up-charge for alcohol at least put some in the drink. They serve the tiniest rolls for sushi and they are nothing special. They also talked my group into buying a more expensive meat with their dish. Later I found out someone else who had been to this restaurant had the same thing happen to them. Don’t waste your time and your money here!!! They will upcharge you on everything. Incredibly scummy business.

We came in a bigger party few nights ago. We added a few extra tables and the male manager said it was fine that he can accommodate us. They sat us but had a few of my party standing for 30 minutes. The tables they promised us got sat which was weird. When he said it was ours. We kept trying to get his attention but he had lack of professionalism. He didn’t want to come over and was very rude. Not manager material. The food was amazing service was excellent. Sunshine helped us out so much and had a lot of patience as we were asking for a million things sorry. But yes she did such a great job. Restaurant is beautiful but please fix the ac. We can tell it was broken

My cousins and I took my brother out for his 30th birthday on November 2, 2024, with a reservation for eight at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations.

Upon entering, we noticed the restaurant was quite hot, and a large fan was placed near the entrance. When I asked the hostess if the AC was working, she assured me it was, and said there were fans throughout the space. However, even after we were seated in the back room, it was uncomfortably warm with very little air circulation. I mentioned this to our server, who was very polite, and she offered to bring a fan to help. Despite this, the heat remained an issue.

While the food was enjoyable, the overall experience was affected by a few issues. Once we finished eating, many of our dirty plates were left on the table even as we moved on to dessert. When the cotton candy was brought out, it started melting due to the lack of air conditioning. Additionally, we had brought a birthday cake for my brother, and when it was brought out with the birthday song, the table was still cluttered with dirty dishes, making it hard to take a proper video. We also had to wait for small plates after the cake was already at the table.

When I spoke with the manager, she apologized and offered to waive the gratuity so that we could tip our server directly. However, I feel the server did her best, given the circumstances. It was especially disheartening when we overheard the manager mentioning she was looking forward to firing this server, who appeared to be about six or seven months pregnant.

Overall, while we enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and service fell short of what we expected for a special occasion, especially with the heat and lack of attentive service at the table. I hope this helps improve the experience for future guests.

This restaurant is in partnership with Riverfront Gondola Tours. All I can say is mouth watering! This restaurant did not disappoint. It’s expensive, just under $300 for 4 guest. If you can splurge the funds, it’s worth it. You only live once, so treat yourself like the Queens and Kings you are! Don’t worry they will deliver it to your gondola at the time of departure.
