At the Island Way Grill, we're all about fresh fish. Our boats make daily trips to the gulf where we retrieve fresh grouper, mahi, snapper and other local varieties. No long-line fish here-just hook, rod, and reel. If it's any fresher, it is still in the gulf. We also have a variety of hand-cut steaks and so much more. Join us for Waterfront Dining and Stunning Sunsets 7 days a week!
“Extraordinary service, delicious food, and a spectacular sunset!”
I had an amazing time at this restaurant. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was absolutely fantastic—every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. To top it all off, we enjoyed a breathtaking sunset that made the evening even more special. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Island Way Grill exceeded all my expectations with its outstanding service and mouthwatering dishes. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, ensuring our every need was met with genuine warmth and attentiveness.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The pork chop was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. It was seasoned to perfection, with just the right balance of spices that complemented the natural richness of the meat.
The Tomahawk steak, however, was the showstopper. Beautifully presented, it was a true feast for the senses. The meat was cooked to perfection, with a rich, smoky char on the outside and a tender, buttery interior. Every bite was indulgent, and it’s clear that Island Way Grill takes pride in sourcing and preparing the finest cuts.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, offering a relaxing yet upscale vibe that made the meal even more special.
If you’re looking for a place that combines impeccable service with truly memorable food, Island Way Grill is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning for another taste of their culinary excellence!

On our way to another destination in Florida, we decided to stay a night in Clearwater, Florida. While there we visited the Island Way Grill. This place is nestled on the water with great romantic views. We made reservations in advance so we were seated as soon as we got there. We ordered a salad and fresh bread was brought to the table. We had to pace ourselves and not fill up on bread because it was that good. My wife ordered the Cedar plank Salmon with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and I ordered the grilled octopus, and Oysters Rockefeller as sides and the Sautéed Scallops which were so buttery and perfectly cooked, with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. You talking about something delicious… A small Tiramisu sampler came with the meal and my wife and I shared a delicious Apple cobbler/pie dessert with a huge scoop of ice cream. Since I’m always honest in my reviews, two suggestions that I’d give would be to lighten up on the vinegar in the Octopus dish, because it seemed to overpower the true flavor of the Octopus. Another thing would be to lighten up on the huge pieces of bacon in the Oyster Rockefeller dish because the taste and texture of the oysters are lost because of so much bacon. Other than that, we’re definitely coming back.

Walking in, there was beautiful Christmas decorations as well as the very colorful fish decor. There was a lady singing a variety of genres of music with a great voice. Our waiter Pete L. Was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and attentive when we needed refills and etc. Also he was super friendly. We ordered the brushetta for an appetizer and it was delicious! For dinner i ordered the Sea Bass and my friend had the Sirloin Steak we shared our dinners and it was extremely fresh and delectable! The dessert we had was the sampler, the creme bruleee and expresso chocolate cake was amazing and the key lime pie was good. I highly recommend this restaurant and next time i will try to go there for sunset. ❤️

Delicious. We ordered the tomahawk ribeye and sea bass.

What a TERRIFIC establishment!!! My 3 gal pals and I took the drive from Siesta Key, FL, to Clearwater, FL, to see my family for Sunday brunch. The waitstaff was professional and friendly, and the food was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. My cousin's wife is part of their team and is a great team player and makes sure all is running smoothly. She was able to eat with us that day, and it was a pleasure to dine at the Island Way Grille. Everyone from the host station to the bus staff was always warm and smiling and were very accommodating to our table. This establishment is world-class, and they offer nothing but the best...

We were at Island Way Grill on a Friday evening. It was the worst dining experience I can remember for one reason: the noise! The host led us to the main dining room and as we got closer, we could hear this wall of sound. It was absolutely deafening. It reminded me of our visits to our kids' school lunchrooms when they were little: dozens of kids shouting to be heard by the person two feet away. Island Way Grill is the same.
It didn't help that they could not have fit one more table in the space. They packed that room! It didn't help that every surface was hard and reflective. The room had hard laminate floors, hard walls, hard ceiling, windows on two sides, and NO attempt at sound deadening whatsoever.
We ordered as quickly as we could and left. We didn't say 10 words among the four of us during the entire meal. It was impossible. One of our guests is nearly 70. He has never used his kitchen to cook. He's rather affluent so he eats at a restaurant 15+ times per week, has for decades. He said he had never - in all his years - experienced a dining room as noisy. Yes, it was a crowded Friday evening. But, we've eaten at many crowded restaurants in the past and none of them were nearly as loud.
Island Way Grill could do so much to improve the situation: remove some tables, hang sound-absorbing material or decor on the walls, put sound deadening panels on the underside of the tables and chairs. But, nope. They just cram as many tables in as possible. Part of the issue is that they get many tourists that may likely never come back, so what does it matter?
Avoid the Island Way Grill. We'll never go back; there are too many better, quieter restaurants all over Clearwater Beach.

We enjoyed Sunday brunch with a large group of friends including children between 4 and 9 years old. Their large selection of food was great for everyone in the party. They also had an a la carte menu. I'm not sure if it was just the Sunday that we went but it was extremely busy so some of the a la carte items we ordered took around 45 minutes to arrive. I love the different varieties of food they had including prime rib, sushi, breakfast items, sweets, etc. All in all the food was excellent, service was great, and our kids loved the large selection of food/drinks. We would definitely go back again.

I have been to Island Grill twice. The Sunday buffet was terrific.I went again on Christmas Eve.What a disappointment. We had 6:45 reservations didn't get seated until 7:30.The service was terrible. The waitress got everything wrong. Two people never got their meals. It wasn't like the place was packed.Everytime the waitress said i will be right back she disappeared for 15 minutes.I hope the service is better next time.Unfortunately i will probably do brunch again not dinner.I must say my son in laws Tomahawk steak was great!

Update: Came back after 4 yrs and Sergio was amazing at the outside bar !! It was a night and day experience from the girl that was working there 4 yrs ago. GOOD servers and bartenders aren’t a dime a dozen just the bad ones are. They make or break your dining experience. Thanks to Sergio I’ll be back!!
Four years ago:
Stopped in by myself and took a seat at the outside bar. It took over 5 min to get acknowledged by the bartender and when she did I was told she would be right with me. I ordered my cocktail which took another 5 min. She asked if I was a was going to order anything to eat and I told her I wasn’t sure. She gave me the menu and about 15 min later she said “so ur not eating right” at that point I replied yeah I’m not. I finished my cocktail paid and left. I headed out to have an amazing dinner with excellent service at another establishment.

I wandered into heaven the day I came here and met the most incredible man/server Eric who treated me like an absolute princess, I’ve been there twice and now my daughter and cousin can’t wait to return there as soon as possible. Eric won our hearts. You can’t help but fall in love with him. Your food service and ambiance won our top spot for favorite restaurant in Clearwater area. Do the $20 suppers!

This is about my wife's meal. Mine was great. She waited till the bill came hers $75 ouch. It was shrimp and scallops. There was no scallops. Well the manager got right on it even went to the cook to make sense of it all. They took $50 off. I was also surprised they had a limited menu. If I knew this we would have gone somewhere else.

Island Way Grill came highly recommended by someone who has enjoyed pleasant experiences with other groups and spoke highly of the food. Unfortunately, our visit was anything but pleasant, thanks to a series of issues that left us utterly disappointed.
The service began poorly, with only two waters brought for our party of three. Drinks and appetizers were ordered well before the main courses, but everything arrived at the same time, a complete disruption to the dining flow.
The food and drinks fell far short of expectations:
• The $50 sushi boat, $22 sashimi and $9 lobster bisque were lukewarm, unacceptable for dishes that rely on freshness.
• The seaweed salad never arrived and remained on the final bill despite our request for its cancellation.
• The edamame was clearly steamed from frozen, lacking any semblance of quality.
• The espresso martini tasted dirty, as if shaken in an unclean tin.
• The spicy margarita sat neglected at the bar and was only served long after we reminded Gertrude—or was it Gilbert, Geraldine, or Garfield? Whatever name fits, it didn’t seem to matter to them.
Adding insult to injury, we were lied to about the propane heater being turned on. Our server never bothered to check on it, leaving us to shiver unnecessarily, until another employee—someone far more attentive—stepped in to address it. This happened as we waited for Gareth to finally complete the bill, dragging out an already frustrating experience.
No apologies were offered for any of these mishaps, and the server’s attitude could best be described as disinterested, inattentive, and unapologetic. It was abundantly clear that they were simply going through the motions without any care for their guests.
More should be expected from a meal that cost nearly $200. (Not to mention, our 10% tip was a generosity - border line charity work.)
While the food was mostly enjoyable, the egregious lack of service overshadowed it.
We may return for the food alone, but under no circumstances will we ever accept being served by Garrett—or was it Gavin?

Food was mediocre. I wonder how many tons of mashed potatoes they serve every night. All of our dishes came with it. There's no imagination. Places like this should be obsolete. If the waitress called my 66 year old mother "sis" or "babe" one more time, I was going to lose it. I haven't been there in years and it'll be many more years before I go back.
Edited to add, the stuffed chicken was cooked to death and it took forever to get our food. Tables sat way after us got our food before us and it was really frustrating.
I don't remember having this experience last time we were there.

I took my wife to IWG for brunch on her birthday which also happened to be "Grinchmas". The food was great and the holiday atmosphere and decorations were fantastic. However, our server, Hannah, went out of her way to make my wife's birthday special. I would recommend IWG to everybody. It's Florida, EAT OUTSIDE!

Honestly overpriced and not worth the money at all. We are here on Christmas Eve and the lights are so bright it felt like I was in the grocery store. Apps were okay, but mains were sub par. The island seafood bowl was sad and disappointing. The shrimp are literally tiny and seemed like all of the seafood was frozen in this dish. Server kept forgetting to bring things and seemed miserable to be there. My daughter got the wrong entree. Pretty disappointing and won’t be back.

Visited for their Grinch brunch the Sunday before Christmas. I guess the theme was fitting because I left in a way worse mood than when I arrived. Service was very slow. Waited 45 minutes for an eggs Benedict (included in buffet but has to be ordered tableside). Server obviously forgot to ring it in, not once but twice. We asked about it after 20 minutes and she said it was coming right out. When food runner dropped it off I asked what time it was rang in and it was 6 minutes prior to its arrival. I get people make mistakes but at least own up to them. I kept becoming increasingly annoyed as I watched our server chatting with her friends while our (and I'm sure others) table needed attention.I still left a decent tip because it's christmas but she did not deserve $30 for bringing 2 mimosas and a few sodas that were never refilled.
Drink refills were slow and dirty dishes went uncleared often suring meal. Oysters were good. Normal breakfast fare was good. There were these little bite size pieces of fried fish and they were burnt to a crisp. I'm not sure if this is intentional to get them to stay crispy on buffet but not appetizing. Sushi was mediocre and the Thai chili sauce on the carved ham station was a huge miss for me. I also found the dessert station lacking. Cookies, cannolis, and various mousse. All was meh.
This will not become a tradition for our family.
Not worth the $40 price tag per person.

I was excited about eating at this highly recommended restaurant. Beautiful place, but very disappointing food. The Lobster Bisque was luke warm and sour tasting. The Caesar Salad was soggy and limp, the Truffle Mac and Cheese was too strong and soggy as well. The only bright spots were the Lemon Drop cocktail and our waitress. Our table of 7 was not cleaned all night and the Manager was not on top of what was happening in the dining room. Will NOT return to this restaurant!

Has been a few years since we have been to Island Way, used to be one of our favorite spots when in town. We came into town with a group of friends and decided to meet up for dinner. We were seated and were promptly met by a server and informed we would be having a new server follow along throughout our experience. Our drink orders were taken, and that's when the wheels fell off the bus. After all sitting for 20 minutes with empty glasses I got up to find our server. Another round of drinks were delivered and our order was taken. It took FOREVER to get food on the table, and when it arrived the fish was cooked to DEATH and had to be sent back for 2 of the entrees on the table. The saddest part of the entire experience was that when the bill came (3 hours after we arrived for our 6:45 reservation) and it included the 20% gratuity that we were forced to pay for 5% service. I am typically VERY generous with a tip, and will usually tip more than a pre-added 20%, but this one was forced for very poor service.
I travel tens of thousands of miles each year and entertain a lot.
My expectation is low with the restaurant scene today, as it has changed so much since covid - not only personnel, but food quality. With that said, I cannot recommend this spot. The food was sub-par, and the service was worse.

Thanksgiving Day Buffet had a few really bad mistakes in my opinion. I come from a restaurant family in NY which has successfully run for 64 years and still going. 1. There was NO pumpkin pie because they had no pie at all on the dessert table. Mostly tiny bites of various bars, cookies and little flavored house cups. Tasty morsels but most people really like and expect the traditional pumpkin pie. 2. The turkey gravy should NOT have been presented. It was nothing but watered down prepackaged base that had the odd color of similar to Curry. It was only slightly thicker than water. It was totally unacceptable. The rest was quite good with some items being over the top delish such as the brussel sprouts with chili sauce. I use the same sauce at home. It is a hot and sweet condition I buy in oriental markets. Finally we did wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The price was about right for what it was. The shrimp were large, plump and well seasoned.

We were excited to go to a new place as a group of 6. We got there about 15 minutes early as we did not realize they opened at 5. As our group was standing out side the glass doors. There were several worked including one that that was there the whole time and saw us. As 5:00 pm approached they put a sign on the door that said closed for a private party. I thought it was rude and very unprofessional as the website did not indicate this information. It’s not the fact that they were closed for a private party, the fact they let us stand there for 15 minutes and then looked at us and put up the sign.

I’ve been a few times and the last few have been disappointing. And experience here today was just terrible.
Party of 7. We had a reservation and they took us to a table for 4. We just stood around the restaurant for a few minutes and then they sat us. The sushi was good. Waited approx 45 mins for our dinner, there was only 1 other table that came after us by like 20 minutes and they got their food and were leaving by the time we got our food. Ribeye was frozen and just thawed out and then overcooked. The shrimp tasted like rubber overcooked. Filet was overcooked. Hogfish was overcooked and dry. Ashley the server was nice but the food the absolutely disgusting.

Party of 5. Sat outside, beautiful evening around 7pm. Inside the restaurant was literally like a meat locker. So cold just standing at the host stand.
No draft beer
Waited approx 1 hour for our dinner, there was only 1 other table and 2-4 people at the bar. Not busy inside either.
All the food was served Luke warm or cold.
We ordered
Coconut shrimp
2 plain fried shrimp dinners with potatoes
Wedge salad- had like half an onion chopped up on it. Soooo much that even with taking it off it tasted like biting and onion
Steak and potatoes
The food was absolutely terrible and the fried shrimp portion was very small.
Coconut shrimp looked nice and if it was served hot would have been great.
I could not believe how bad ALL the food was and especially for the price. What a waste of money. Other than the company and the atmosphere it was a terrible dining experience and a tremendous waste of money.

I reserved a table for 2, when I was asked(option) ‘what’s occasion’ and i clicked‘birthday’… not first time for me , I was greeted from host, very nice , and asked to be outside, since was nice weather- very nice. The server Paul introduced himself was very nice guy, good was good, but something was missing that was making all our visit ‘not on the top’! We ordered fast, Paul answered all our questions! Ordered a starter that is sharing for 2 people and Not plates to share it! Ordered fresh fish and was good!and, i didn’t finish it all and asked for box, Paul brought box but didn’t attend to put my left overs in box.Ordered some dessert; crème brulee that’s was Very good and Tiramisu that was very good also, but to much whipped cream on the top making not to taste really tiramisu. The dessert spoon came to our table plain from hands of server to Not so Clean Table without being wrapped at least in paper napkins! Espresso was spilled all over the cup and saucer and had Not Foam on the top! And since we were asked the occasion, it will not hurt something small or cupcake for birthday or don’t Ask! Overall was not bad but some small/big things that it will be better to improve!
Cuz… For next time …. I’ll think !

The food was exceptional—every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. The drinks were just as impressive, especially the cocktails. Highly recommend!

Quite possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had for the $$$
What once was a great place to pull up on your boat and expect a strong 4-5 star rating experience has become a terrible place to expect even decent fare. Explains why it was dead on a Saturday night.
Fine dining turned average beach tourist trap. The profit margin squeezed out of the low quality food is probably used to cover the interest costs from the debt load for the exaggerated valuation price the current owner paid to purchase the concept. Someone always gets left holding the bag in these scenarios.
However, you can't beat the experience on the deck at sunset. Pulling up on your boat, parking for free and having a drink is great. Don't expect any decent food. though.

Qent to dinner with co-workers. Had a daily special of crispy onion Salmon and it was completely over cooked hard and dry. The asparagus was hard and woody and the Wasabi mashed potatoes were runny. I clearly ordered the wrong entrée. Everyone else's meals that night looked great and they had no complaints. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

I'm sorry..food was decent..but if you're going to serve bread with oil...it should be olive oil..not some refined cheap fryer grade "sauté oil"...even a 50/50 blend would be acceptable..this was clear. No gold hue at all. Rockefeller oysters need a better recipe.. too much bacon..not enough of a creamy element..tuna roll was awesome..as were the seafood curry rice bowls..

Food was awesome. Service was terrible. Bar slow, hostess gave a pager, but coded as seated, 45 minutes later asked for a table status, we were supposed to be seated outside with a view for our anniversary...ended up inside by the bussing station. Saw our server twice. Not sure I'd dine here again even though the food was awesome.

Horrible experience with Sylvie. Slow, food delivered out of order. Bread came after meal was finished. We come here once or twice a year and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had. If you want good sea food and service, go to Clear Sky in in Clearwater Beach.

My son and new daughter-in-law got married at the Marriott and we were supposed to have dinner there. it was a horrible experience. But Jamie and her crew at Island Way Grill made it an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL dinner. I can't say enough about the service (Emily and Pete) the food it was incredible, and it was everything it was supposed to be for a wedding dinner. Thank you for taking a most horrible experience into THE BEST EXPERIENCE WE COULD HAVE HAD. I will be back just because of the service!!!!!

Yesterday was a very precious day, my little brother got married! With a party of 30, we were suppose to dine at the Marriott. But they refused to give the bride an open menu. So we called around and the Island Way Grill took our large party with no problems! We were able to have a great time bonding over delicious food and drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you Island Way Grill for making sure this important day ended wonderfully!

Had an awful experience for our annual meal we have here for 18 every year.
Food was ice cold and the sushi didn't come until after people finished entrees and was completely inedible.
Cocktails came incorrect
They forgot the rice and pasta for 2 dishes
Instead of offering to take the sushi off the bill we were only extended desert trays that went uneaten because the deserts were warm.
Been coming here for 10 years and will never set foot back here based on this expereince.

We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is amazing-they never disappoint. We recently celebrated a birthday at this establishment and the manager Jamie went above and beyond to make our special day amazing. The steaks are so delicious! We had an amazing view and awesome customer service. If your ever in the Clearwater area this restaurant is a must.

I recently dined at Island Way Grill while on vacation, Our server Adnela was very attentive with a lovely bubbly personality. Although i experienced good service the restaurant is EXTREMELY hot and foggy they should definitely work on getting the AC fixed it seems as if it could eventually become a safety hazard . Overall the food and the service was good.

The food was fantastic. The server wasn't sure of the menu items. They had a giant fan running because it was very warm in the dining room. The fan didn't do any good. Also, there was a large party who were very loud to the point of us not being able to hear one another.

We needed a table while a storm was approaching on short notice to accommodate our party of six for a sweet 16 party and the general manager Jamie personally took care of us and made sure that we had a very special time celebrating as a family. They gave us the full VIP treatment and they made our sweet Emma feel very special and she thoroughly enjoyed her sweet 16 dinner. We come back to island way Grill after all these years because the staff is great and the food is consistently excellent 10/10

Loud, hot and small portions and just feels worn down and expired... Not anything like it used to be. Had the snapper and had a tiny portion in a tiny plate with terrible presentation for a $40 meal. Last 2 times have sucked…

Food - was average; was not an upscale
Restaurant; but they charge high prices due to water view; bar did not have top shelf liquor! The bread and olive oil
Was good;
Service - had to ask to clear the table / didn’t bring shareable Plates or even large enough plates - when asked for dinner plates - he brought bread plates / ordered a drink that never came out that we realized we were charged for / privately asked to pay for bill for our party as a nice gesture - GM said no because someone no - I went and talked to her privately- I accepted her answer and walked away to eat my dinner at my table - she followed me to table and created a scene in front of everyone - I had to ask her to please leave us alone since her tone was bad and walk away because that was a private conversation and she shouldn’t have come in front of everybody to discuss my good intention for my party when I patiently waited for her and talked to her in private and she was not saying anything she didn’t already say to me in private ; she made it uncomfortable; they have valet service(didn’t need to use it - but nice touch);
Numerous staff standing around at hostess table but not enough servers;
Female General manager is extremely rude and needs to learn how to handle herself and is disrespectful; servers are disorganized; but most likely because the manager looks like she seems unprofessional and lacks skills and common sense;
Atmosphere-outdated! Floors look dirty; When outside - smells like a Bbq on fire and tremendous amount of heat coming from kitchen; AC was not working; extremely hot ; they had fans placed throughout restaurant but was still hot; staff needs better direction and structure and took forever to get food ; got my drink late that we ordered before we ordered dinner; as soon as we got our drinks we ordered second round because we saw they were slow;! Smells due to hood or exhaust not working: like something is burning; I even asked is there a fire when we walked in; it does have a water views;

Always a great dining experience. The General Manager, Jamie, always has the place running smoothly. The food is always great and the service is good. Our server last night, Hannah, is a gem. Very helpful and quick. Side Note - Please bring back the Shrimp Tempura and Vegetable Tempura appetizers from years ago. We still talk about this and still very much missing that starter!

We had dinner last night at Island Way Grille. We had reservations but they overbooked and had to seat us in the bar area. The Air Conditioning system was broke. So we had dinner sweating the whole way through dinner. It was a miserable experience.

We went here. We started out as a lovely dinner and progressively it got worse. I got alcoholic drinks, which I promised you had no alcohol in it. I’m not sure how you can have several alcoholic beverages and not even have a buzz two out of three dishes we got were not great and when the server was packing it up putting it in a box he dropped it on the floor, we spent Way over $100 for this occasion. We come here often, but they have ignored my calls. They will not reach back out to me to make this right nothing Other than that, the restaurant is actually very lovely but if you end up having a problem and you spend a good amount of money here, just know that you’re not Going to be compensated in anyway.

2024 Review: Same great date night or family outing. Also a solid choice of vive for business as well. Food was overall a miss and the service off. Here are the details...
Service was pleasant in nature but slacking. No pre-bussing so dishes built up on the table. Needed refills went unnoticed. And my pet peeve. The main selection showing up only seconds after the appetizer.
As for the sashimi salad, it was nice prepared and with an extra touch of soy sauce it was a good start.
Then came the octopus appetizer (and the steak seconds later unfortunately). Octopus just did not blend well with the sauce compliments. The flavor profile seemed off with sour and bitter undertones. And while the larger ends of the octopus was tender, the majority of the octopus was too charred and overcooked. Not tender, quite tough.
As for the steak. Nice piece of Ribeye and cooked to a perfect medium, although I prefer medium rare as I requested. The steak was a quality cut of beef. A shame it sat for 25 minutes on my table before I got to enjoy it due to the rushed pace of selections arriving.
Overall, at this caliber of restaurant, a little more detail and care is expected for the total experience to be a win. Eeyore agrees with it being only an okay experience overall, more disappointment than satisfaction here. 3 tail wags. 3 stars.
ORIGINAL 2019 Review:
Plan on waiting upon arrival without a reservation. Nice indoor seating and great patio. The grilled octopus was best I ever had. The shrimp louie salad was fresh. The grilled red snapper was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Service was also good. If you crave fresh seafood done right or a steak dinner, this is your place.

It was casual dress. I was expecting something more formal and dressed up. The service was great and the food was delicious. Drinks were good. The place isn't overpriced either considering it is a finer dining. I would highly recommend this, especially if you are taking someone out on a date. I will be back for sure.

Island Way Grill’s brunch left much to be desired. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were finally at our table, the restaurant's stifling heat made the experience uncomfortable. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed, leading to sparse service and delays. To make matters worse, she accidentally dropped a mimosa, causing glass and liquid to spray on us. The absence of bottomless mimosas further added to the disappointment. While the food may have been decent, these issues significantly detracted from the overall experience.

Island Way Grill offers an exceptional dining experience with fresh, flavorful dishes. The mahi mahi was particularly impressive, showcasing the chef's expertise. Despite a 30-minute wait, the excellent service and vibrant atmosphere made it well worth it.

We had a disappointing experience with the supper club. The kitchen and servers must be overwhelmed as every course was delayed, and it took us 2 hours to eat what should have been less than an hour meal. Dessert took an HOUR to arrive after main course. Our server Travis was overwhelmed, stressed, and torn between 4 tables, clearly catering to evening crowd rather than our “supper club” group. We felt really sorry for him until he snapped at us after a 45 minute delay in dessert “I cannot bring what I do not have” instead of apologising for the delay. While we understand and support the serve staff efforts, his demeanour left us perplexed and unwelcome.

We sat on the patio which is on the water. What a great atmosphere. We started with drinks. My drink tasted watered down, the server blamed it on the warm weather so we ordered another one and it tasted exactly the same. My boyfriend ordered a Apple martini and it tasted like a lemon martini. Then I ordered the scallops over pasta. The scallops were fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection but the pasta was cold. My boyfriend ordered the salmon which was also cold. He said if it was hot it would have been delicious. The food took over 30 minutes to get. We arrived at the restaurant around 2pm on July 13th. It was not busy, only a couple of tables had customers but there was a private party going on in a separate room. The couple next to us actually complained about their food and how long it took to get it. The man received another entree within 10 min and the woman refused to get another entree because she thought she would have to wait another 30 min to get it. I’ve never been to this restaurant before. I’d hope that we just happened to come at a bad time. Please note that there menu online is not updated. I went there for the shrimp and grits and it is no longer on the menu.

Excellent meal on Clearwater Beach! Slightly upscale restaurant that was great from start to finish. Cocktails to start were made well and nicely presented. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, that had a dish filled with dry ice to chill it, very cool!! Salads next, were fresh and tasty. Four meals for us: my wife had petit filet with mashed potatoes, I had the seared scallops over pasta. One of my daughters had pasta, my other daughter requested a Caesar Salad with petit filet. Her request was not on the menu, but our waitress made it work. The salad had the portion of steak cooked to order, sliced, and placed on the salad. We didn't save room for dessert, but the display sure looked delicious. I feel pricing was on par with what we expected.

We enjoyed the early supper club menu (4p-530p) with $20 entree/side, house or Caesar salad, bread w fresh spices/oil and mini dessert. Filet and salmon were our choices w the wasabi mashed potatoes (no wasabi spiciness at all and purely delicious). Our server, Hunter was extraordinary and the food was exquisite! Restaurant is immaculately clean and simply beautiful, has private parking and in a convenient location. Island sangria was full of fresh fruit and espresso martini was delicious.

FOOD IS DOWN RIGHT TERRIBLE
* Almost not worth the atmosphere and location
What I had:
THAI MUSSLES- They were cold instead of hot like they are suppose to be, They were also sweet which itself is yuck I was hoping for savory who wants sweat mussles???
CEASAR SALAD- There was no hearts of Romaine, only what looked like someone mowed the lawn and through it in a pile on a plate with watery ceasar dressing… Stop jipping the customer we want hearts of Romaine and not watered down dressing!
NY STRIP STEAK- was the only okay thing I ordered, Had no flavor only a charred taste but meat was good.
Expert advice: GET NEW COOKS, GET A TRAINED KITCHEN STAFF, CLEAN THE KITCHEN, CLEAN THE KITCHENWARE! Take some pride in every dish served!
MY GLASS WAS FILTHY! FOOD WAS NOT FRESH TASTING!!!!!
The atmosphere & location is very nice! thats why I added an extra star

Sunday brunch at Island Way Grill is the best! I love their selection, and it’s my favorite spot to go for brunch on Sunday. I also highly recommend their dinner, they have a great selection in their menu. It’s definitely my favorite place to brunch in Clearwater Beach.

It doesn't even deserve one star. The smoke coming from the kitchen is incredible and has been like this for years. It's unbelievable that the owner didn’t spend the money to replace the exhaust hood , how he hasn't fixed this issue that affects everyone, especially the workers because of the smoke. The last time we ate there we cough for hours after leaving the restaurant and our clothes stunk . It's time to sell this place so that someone who cares can restore this business to what it was many years ago.You

Local. This is not quality food or service. Every piece of food in my meal was a different temperature & undercooked rice... Other meals were also overcooked or under cooked at the table. The waitress was very slow & had to ask for things multiple times. The Manager was condescending she tried to downplay the food not being cooked properly. She disregarded the burnt food. She did try & offer a free dessert. All meals were $30+ & definitely not worth the price. There was also A/C condensation dripping from the ceiling on to our table. The waitress was dismissive & had it is what it is attitude. The appetizers were good. Some people in our party got sick.
If you are tourist or local take yourself down to one of the other beautiful quality restaurants on the beach.

Waste of money. We just left the restaurant. It used to be fabulous food. Two of us had the Island Bowl. The seafood was cold but the sauce was hot. My other half had an inedible grilled Brussel sprouts as a side. They were brown and tasted like they were freezer burnt before being overcooked. To top it off the ac vent on the ceiling had condensation dripping on my other half arms. When I told the waitress she just said it is just condensation. Just wow we know what it is. It is unacceptable to have water dripping from the ceiling onto your arms when you are eating. The manager offered to buy us desert after she asked why we did not tell our server right away. Answer the server took off and was helping others and we could not get her attention. THE EXCUSE we got for why the food was not up to par ...having to serve 400 plus in a day is not a good reason. Just incredibly disappointing. Nobody is trying to get away with not paying for food how about giving us what we paid for and stop making excuses. The appetizers were awesome and so is the bartenders. Not worth the price. Save your money to go to a restaurant that really cares about what they cook. And if you have allergies do not sit inside lots of smoke . Total price over $600.

Heard great things about this place, but it was a huge let down. Went on a Thursday night party of 5, restaurant wasn’t busy. Multiple empty tables and plenty staff on site. Service was SLOW. Took awhile to get drinks. Ordered appetizers and salads. Received two different sized salads (1 small and 1 large) despite ordering the same item. Appetizer (tuna) took 30+ minutes. Had to ask for drinks and bread. When food arrived it was not what we ordered and the items that were correct were over cooked and cold. Manager tried to make it right by actually getting us what we ordered but by this point there was no recovering. Absolutely terrible experience, especially for the price of the food. Look elsewhere for better experience. We won’t be back.

The service was great and the ambiance was nice. But nothing can make up for mediocre food. Our entree, the stuffed Mahi, was very bland and even the chips and queso dip lacked flavor. The best part of the meal was the bread and seasoned oil!! For the cost, I wouldn't recommend with a large party.

We are Clearwater Beach locals and come here once a week for years now. We absolutely love everything about Island way. The food is great and typically consistent, and the staff is very professional and accommodating. The only negatives, and unfortunately they are pretty major, are that the dining area does not have enough air condition and the smoke does not ventilate in the restaurant. We have to constantly walk out of the restaurant to feel relief and let our eyes recover. We also see the amazing hard working staff struggling with this. Please fix the air condition and the ventilation system. It’s that simple. If the AC was functional in the main dining area and the smoke was properly vented, it would be an elite dining establishment… Please fix this guys! You’re doing so many things right. We love and support you as locals who love to spend our time and money there!

Made a reservation for 11:45.
We were on time but told that even though we had a reservation, it was normal to wait an hour and a half.
Only waited an hour.
Food. Carving station beef.
Asked to get rarer than the dry and well done he was cutting, bro doesn't even look at me and says nope.
Scrambled eggs and omlett eggs were clearly poured out of carton. The hollandaise had no flavor at all. The bacon I tried was rancid. The deserts were fantastic.
The wait person was fantastic.
$38. Per person is fair. But a couple of stations were not replenished.

Make a reservation, but they don't hold an outside table for you. So I sat for 45 minutes waiting. Who the hell would reserve for an inside table at a seaside diner? Stupid management. Two stars because the food is good so the cooks should get some credit. The waiter was not good, either. Wait too long to take drink order. Have to ask to get bread. Hope the cooks get paid a lot, the food is the only thing going for this place

The food was good, the service was really bad. Probably the worst we ever got. We had reservation late at 9.15pm. Restaurant was probably at quarter capacity, not busy at all. Waiter introduced himself and took our drinks order. 45 minutes later different person came to take our food order without any introduction or explanation, he was not welcoming at all. I saw other waiters jumping out of their underwear to please the guests, we were never asked if everything was ok, if we needed anything else, drinks refills, water refills, nothing. The bus boy throw plate of edamame on our table - “here is your edamame”, turned around and left before I had a chance to ask for extra plate for husks or ask to pick up bread basket and oil plate. He came back later with our food and literally started to shoving plates on our table (which is full of dirty plates, so I had to pile up all the plates to make a room) mumbling the orders which no one can hear or understand except him. We had 3 steaks different doneness, luckily we could differentiate them as all had different sides. He was about to leave like first time and I had to use my raised voice to ask him to clean up the table. Even my kids 10 and 12 said it was very weird service/experience. We are tourists so they didn’t lost their repeat customers, but definitely our extended family (who recommended this place and feel extremely embarrassed) and all friends.
