We've also added a healthy mix of all time seafood favorites to our menu such as snow crab legs, jumbo shrimp, oyster, and Steamed fish.
I've been coming here for almost 7 years and this place has always been great but really it's hit or miss and what I've gathered is it's all about timing.
If you come here on a weekend around 12-1. It's amazing. The food is so fresh and being maintained and turned around frequently, same goes for coming here at peak dinner rush. You want to be here when the plate turnover is frequently being replenished. The food at these times is always so fresh and flavorful. This restaurant is always clean and well organized and the staff are pretty attentive about taking empty plates and keeping refills on drinks full at all times. Plenty of people seem to have mixed things to say but I HIGHLY disagree. This is definitely a diamond in the rough if you time it correctly.
They recently added new rolls I've never had before and even some new items to their hotbar side as well. The soft serve ice cream has always been pretty good too.
Also, the crab legs on a weekend dinner night are always hot and fresh and being restocked frequently. You can't beat it.

Personal Opinion: Avoid This Restaurant
Atmosphere: 1/5
Food: 0/5
Service: 1/5
To start with, the atmosphere was unimpressive, and the food was beyond disappointing. The service, although polite to me, was a mess—my wife felt rushed as they kept trying to take our plate away even when I hadn’t finished, and constantly cutting our conversation to ask if we were done.
The beef ribs were awful; they tasted more like camel meat than any short ribs I’ve ever had in my life. The sushi looked like it was made by someone with less experience than a child, and the fish tasted off, while the vegetables seemed old.
If I make it through the night, it'll probably be thanks to the vinegar I drank at home to help dissolve whatever I just ate.
My wife was furious with herself for eating there and so embarrassed since a friend had suggested we meet there. She couldn’t stop yelling about how dirty and disgusting the place was all the way home.
It was also unsettling that most of the kitchen staff were not Japanese in what’s supposed to be a Japanese restaurant. I took some images, but let me tell you, they do not reflect the actual food quality, flavors, or the filth we encountered. Someone should really call the health department on this place because I’m worried it might pose a health risk.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. If you decide to go, do it at your own risk. I’m not a hater—check my other reviews—but I strongly believe in what I’m saying.

Been here for Lunch - $17 plus drinks
This place is better than nearby King Buffet or Koywan Buffet. Sushi choices is massive and fresh, most importantly the place is clean. Doesn’t have a funny smell when you enter like the two places I’ve mentioned. The server is attentive but doesn’t really feels friendly because she’s not even smiling and just poker face all the way and have the gut to actually expect or ask for more tip that is more than the 20% of your bill even for just two persons. Honestly don’t like that. They have also Hibachi but the steak is not that fresh. Coming back for the sushi at luch. Dinner can be too pricey with not much difference from the Lunch menu. Overall, it’s good and worth the try!

closer to a 4.5 really, than a 4, or a 5.. but I'm giving them 5 stars cause some reviews here dont do them justice.. first off, not everything tasted great -the shrimp tempura specifically, the batter formula needs work.. too much flour or starchy in the mouth.. I've had better at so many restaurants in ontario.. however, they made up for it with the tuna sashimi and other things i enjoyed. we didn't eat a lot, but if you want your money's worth, the tuna sashimi usually is the main course! salmon sashimi was a hit or miss.. the very first piece i tried was great, the succeeding ones though, not so much.. the teriyakis were good, although the beef was kinda tough, the flavor was there so all good. i liked the seaweed salad, and the other stuff.. i just feel like, if you think you won't like the food, don't eat here! i tell you... most of these poor reviews reek of entitlement. it's a buffet place, not a 5-star dining restaurant worthy of a michelin star! lots of parking, and they take apple pay.

The selection of main entry foods is great but a bit limited for the price point. $100 for 2 adults and 1 kid is too expensive but must be because of the crab legs and other sea food. Sushi bar has good selection, the Hibachi had fresh meats and veggies , Salad bar and desert were skipped. The bbq ribs were delicious and fried spring rolls and crab Rangoon were crispy. Servers were very attentive and they kept the place clean. Overall great experience and will definitely come back again.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. I only stopped because I didn't eat all day at work. Thought I would grab some sushi and some hot food. Entering inside there was no host. When I turned around a worker just asked how many. I said 1 and she escorted me to a table. She didn't greet me or explain anything about the price the food. She asked what I want to drink . Left and brought the cup back . Never said anything else went back to talking to the staff at the counter. I get up to see what's there sushi not being chilled just laying on plexiglass with lights under it. Pretty sure raw food needs to be at a certain temperature. Secondly I go to the other section of cooked food . Very bare very nothing there . I don't eat shellfish or pork so my options are very very limited. I grabbed 2 short ribs 2 teriyaki beef i also placed 1 tuna and 2 newyork sushi on the plate with ginger and two plain tuna slices. Went to the table bit the short rib. Couldn't bite through was so rubbery. Beef teriyaki was bland and taste funny. The sushi was warm and I had to examine very close for parasites. I will never return here or recommend this restaurant. The Japanese restaurant on sandlake rd off of exit 74 is so amazing . Sushi to enjoy. Please don't come here if you want to keep money in your pocket.

I should have looked at the most recent reviews before coming here. The smell near the plates was foul. I should have known to not eat here from that moment. The sushi I ate was very odd tasting. I left with a very bad stomach pain. I would not return. Updated: I threw up when I got home and I now (1/3) have food poisoning. Beware.

I really wanted to like this place but from what I've experienced I'm not sure how long this restaurant will remain in operation. It is way too overpriced at $31.95 per adult plus drinks and they charge child by the height so even if your child is under 10 years old but happens to be tall, you're going to pay the adult price. The entire restaurant is dirty and the food tastes nasty and old. Every food item was cold and there weren't many option to choose from in the first place. All of the food handles were slimy (especially in the hibachi area with the raw food) and covered with food. My whole family was nauseous and gagging on the way to our car. It was a total waste of our money.

Honestly for $30 this is the smallest Buffet I have ever been to did not have a big selection of Japanese food at all. I was expecting a lot more variety I guess I'm going to have to find another Japanese restaurant that actually has good food. The tempura was soft the vegetables inside were mush the ribs were cold the only piece of tempura that was any good was the shrimp. After watching so many people eating stuff in Japan I expected it to be a lot more authentic than it was. The only other thing that was really good was the Miso soup they allowed you to put your own amount of mushrooms green onions can tofu it was a good flavor not the best. And the banana pudding was spot on delicious. Other than that the only thing but they had that I would eat us after tasting a few things that I'd never had before was crab legs and I could have done that closer to my house about the same price but bigger crab legs these were tiny as all get out.
The wait staff is very attentive very nice.

Mikado is still one of the best values in sushi out there. Great variety and selection of sushi, seafood and hibachi. The food is not the best but for the money, it's really good. I'm glad they've stayed in business and hope to keep coming in the future.

Prices are way too expensive. For the very little food selection that they have it’s not worth 35$+. Just for two people alone it’s over 70$ for a small selection of food.

The only reason i am giving this a 3 star is because at the time we came ( dinner ) it was not busy at all, we were basically the only people there with maybe 2 other tables. It was 6:30pm when we arrived so not very late considering that they close at 10pm and because of the lack of people there most of the hot food was warm at best and definitely was not being rotated. So just beware if the place looks empty it is not worth the price you will be paying ( $30 per adult ) you will be highly disappointed and the price for children who do not eat much or who do not eat sea food will be a complete waste unless you are specifically there for the sushi bar, the sushi bar was perfect. On a high note the atmosphere was wonderful, it was relaxing and the service was good too.

Don"t eat here if you are bring the kids. Their policy is not by age but by height. My skinny but sightly taller than average fourth grader got charged sames price as an full sized adult. A little ridiculous if you ask me.
Other than that, the food is very average. Although the selection of rolls is large, most just different varieties of California rolls and doesn't look fresh. I would stick just to the small sashimi choices and snow crab.

Its my birthday today, My Fiance and I had just finished a very long exhausting day of moving to a new house, We wanted to have our celebratory meal and decided to come here. We walked in at 9:30, they close at 10:30. The restaurent was completly empty, atleast 15 employees were all staring at us with a look of unfreindlines to say the least. Two server staff decided to have a very loud argument in mandarin, sitting right next to us. We were forced to rush out. What an experience.

I used to enjoy this place but it's really gone downhill, at least during lunchtime. While the quality of the food is much worse than it used to be, more importantly is the lack of cleanliness. You can tell there hasn't been a health inspection in quite a while as you will be harder pressed to find a clean plate than a dirty one. Management clearly doesn't care anymore, so someone needs to step in and investigate them.

The buffet was 32$ and I couldn’t find $5 worth of food to eat. I tried a variety of the sushi and you could tell it had been sitting. Tried the non-sushi and had the same experience. Soft serve was good. I feel like I wasted my money, should have previewed the buffet before sitting down. Didn’t even try the crab legs they were sooo tiny

Sushi was okay, more on the warm side. Are the lights underneath just for show? No cooler to keep the food safe just open to the air. Most of the food I had to spit out because it didn’t taste safe to eat. It’s unfortunate the decorations looked better than the food.

The place is great atmosphere and the music is calming, but for the price is 34.95 but the crab legs they break the clusters into individual legs which is I guess they count each leg as they break them.. the short beef ribs the do the same cut them up in little pieces and it rubbery.. the blue crabs the already small blue crabs and the cut them up also, they wasn't seasoned at all, the shrimp, supposed to be salt And pepper no seasoning and they was fried long enough, Don't waste your money going there...

Downgraded ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars due to Policy that is now imposed. Went for lunch, and sashimi is not offered. Had 6 pieces of nigiri and did not eat the rice. At the time of plate pickup from the server - I was told to eat my rice or be charged. Did not understand what was going on and was told it's food waste. The server picked up the napkin holder with policy stated on its side. I stated that there was no sashimi, and was told it was offered at dinner (yet, this was lunch). The interaction broke the vibe of an anticipated enjoyable lunch. Will not return

I was in Altamonte Springs recently and decided to find an all you can eat sushi place. I saw this was a buffet style AYCE sushi and seafood place. The food was all fairly good. They had all kinds of sushi, seafood, etc. They even had cups of fish eggs you could get for yourself, 4 different kinds!
I enjoyed it because, as opposed to other AYCE sushi places, you can just go up and pick from a HUGE variety of sushi. You don't have to wait for it to be brought out to you and you can look at each individual roll.

This was one of my go to favorite places ! My w girlfriend & I would drive 45 minutes to go here !! Was there last week @ around 6:00 pm & the place is usually pretty crowded , we walked in and there were about 10 people total !! Started out with the miso soup ( it was cold ) then got a few pieces of sushi ( they tasted horrible & didn't look fresh at all ) so I tried some short ribs that were cold as hell ! So I decided let me do some hibachi so it's hot & fresh !! The shrimp , Meat & vegetables were way undercooked ! Worst experience I've ever had !! The hot foods were cold & the cold foods were hot 🥵 ! Not sure what happened but that being said we will never go there again !! So I asked to speak with the Manager & when I mentioned our experience he kinda laughingly made a smerk on his face !! I said don't laugh man , you'll be laughing when you all don't have jobs & this place closes down !! Food was so tasteless & disgusting !! I wouldn't even feed any of it to our dogs !! Got home after our 45 minute drive from there & both had horrible stomache ach's & immediately had to run to the bathroom !! Stay far away from this disgusting place !! I should off looked up the restaurants inspection comments before we went , but didnt !!! Stay far away from this place ! Our experience was HORRIBLE & will NEVER EVER GO BACK

My husband and I dined yesterday for our dinner date/celebration and we were thoroughly impressed with our experience.
The buffet offered an extensive selection of delicious dishes that left us spoiled for choice. While the price was on the higher side, we found the quality and variety of food well worth it. From fresh seafood to mouthwatering desserts, every dish was prepared with care and attention to detail and also some meats.
And also my husband really likes the happy hour deals for the beers.
Thanks also to the staff who always make sure that our table is clean time to time and very attentive.

Horrible customer service!! The people are racist!! Food is way to over priced for have barely any meat in the crabs legs!! They definitely don’t have patience with kids. The made us feel so uncomfortable! Because of the service we did not tip much. And the lady was arguing with us to give her more money, and she only was with us for 2 min because the waitress changed. She threw the receipt at our face. Definitely not coming back and making sure I have food inspectors come in and deal with them. And I probably will have the police come to check out the places to because they don’t ID. We paid 136$ and they were about to charge us for the baby and she’s not even one yet. The food definitely messed up our stomach we been throwing up and my kids have diarrhea!! Definitely not worth coming back.

Let’s start with the positives. The sushi is the star of this place hands down. Their selection is HUGE and all the ones I tried tasted great. They have certain items that other buffets (at least the ones that I’ve been to) don’t have like sashimi and build your own udon station. However… the quality of some of the other dishes were lacking. While I was pleased to see they had oysters on the half shell the size were pretty small. The few crab legs that I managed to get were water logged. The kitchen staff did not refilled the crab legs the entire time I was there and that goes for the mussel in broth dish and the clams in broth dish as well (didn’t get to try either of those dishes). Granted I got there a little after 8 so that’s my bad but I would expect the kitchen to still push out what I would assume are the more popular dishes if closing time isn’t until 10:30pm. It seemed that I wasn’t the only one watching out for crab legs as many others kept visiting the station to see if another batch had been made. I chose to eat here by looking at the menu on the website. Let’s just say that I was a little disappointed and felt like I was sold a lie. The website menu claimed that they had a lobster sushi roll only served on Fri and Sat but there wasn’t any (came on a Saturday). It also claimed that there was tiramisu and longyan fruit but there wasn’t and the crème brûlée they claim to serve was more of a flan if anything (not a hard sugar crust but a wet runny liquid on top) I’m glad I got to try this place while I was in town just so I could experience it but I don’t think I would dine here again.

A very nice buffet offering the best in sushi options for a self-service restaurant. Staff is good in keeping your table clean and drinks filled. Lunch is a very affordable option, only slightly higher than Golden Corral. Buffet features a Mongolian grill, as well as soups, salads and plenty of appetizers and higher quality "Chinese buffet" staples like gyoza, tempura shrimp and rice and noodles. Lunch is $20 per person, without a drink, but is still a fantastic deal if you like Sushi. Dinner is $30, so you need to make several trips to get your money's worth, but is a great place for a date night. Very clean!

Haven't been back since before COVID. Happy the place survives it. The food is still good. Sushi quality is a lot better than other Chinese buffet places. Hibachi and noodle bars are great, too. You can totally get your money's worth for lunch.

Broken water feature walking in should have tipped me off this place is not well maintained. Plates were dirty. All the rolls i tried were terrible. Crab legs were water logged in tepid near room temperature water. Rice dishes were also near room temp (definitely can cause food illnesses). Smell coming from back room near ice cream machine was awful. The short ribs were alright and waitress was ok. Would never come back if you paid me.

Pleasant experience...good food, good service and nice atmosphere. I would have given them a 5 except it didn't feel kid friendly and the food would get cold really fast... it felt like I had to eat it really fast.

This establishment was a complete disaster for what was supposed to be a joyous celebration for my brother's 26th birthday. Let me paint you a picture of the debacle that unfolded. We arrived excitedly, a party of 13, ready to indulge in good food and great company. However, from the moment we walked in, it was clear that our expectations were about to be shattered.
Firstly, let's talk about the service—or lack thereof. Our waitress seemed to have mastered the art of neglecting her duties. While we sat there with empty glasses and cluttered plates, she was too busy having a jolly time up front, chitchatting with her colleagues. When she eventually sauntered over to our table, it was not with an apology or a polite request to clear our plates but with a blatant disregard for our dining experience, reaching over my food multiple times as if it were an inconvenience to her.
Now, onto the food. For the hefty price tag of $32 per person, one would expect a decent variety. Alas, this was not the case. With disappointment written all over my face, I felt the only redeeming quality was the sushi. Everything else fell short, leaving me feeling cheated and unsatisfied.
But wait, there's more. When the time came to settle the bill, chaos ensued. Despite my repeated attempts to clarify that our party consisted of only five people, our waitress seemed to have a selective hearing problem. She charged us for an additional person and drinks that no one at the tables had. When confronted, she had the audacity to argue with me as if I were the one in the wrong.
As if that weren't enough, the staff's incompetence reached new heights when, after we had left the premises, a staff member came outside, accusing us of not paying our bill. Only 9 out of the 13 left, four people were still inside eating. The staff stated we had to pay, and I told her they were still in the establishment dining. She said no, they left when another staff member came outside. One went inside to check, while one stayed outside watching us. When I finally went inside, someone was cleaning our table, and the people she accused of “not paying” three had gone to the restroom, and one was sitting down eating cake. It was a humiliating experience, made worse by the fact that it was entirely the result of their incompetence and
For the $160 that my party of 5 alone paid, the entire experience was nothing short of a disaster. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this establishment. I would have instead preferred to dine at Amura’s or Ichigo Ichie Buffet, where your patronage is appreciated and valued.

Went to this location 2/21/24. The service was horrible. The food was sub par, not worth the charge. Also, they have a very weird way of charging customers by height in inches. They charged my 10 year old daughter that is 52” tall/ 65lbs as an adult. They charged my 5 year old son as an adult. Apparently I’m not the only one that this has happened to. Apparently this establishment is earning a bad reputation. Hope the owners/ management take’s action and make necessary changes for the sake of their business
