Simple venue serves Japanese classics, plus all-you-can-eat sushi, appetizers, teriyaki & more.
Great fish quality, all the fish tasted fresh and were very tasty. I love the appetizers, the miso soup was great! We also had the seaweed salad and kani salad which were good too. The edamame was a great snack as well. Very good food for a great price!

I absolutely love this place! I was so full after like 4 rolls, but it's nice that you can try all sorts for one all you can eat price. Everything is fresh, and it comes out in one plate. If you want, you can ask for 2 menus so you can each get your own plate, but it's really a fresh (not buffet style) place to eat! Highly reccomend their shrimp tempura and the risky hill roll!

This used to be our go-to spot. My friends and I have never had a bad experience here. The dining area and bathrooms are always clean. Parking has always been sufficient.
Yes, if you come on a Friday or Saturday night, you can expect long wait times for your food as it’s a full house. The booth seating can be uncomfortable if the people behind you are rocking back and forth as the barrier between you is not stable.
Takeout orders have consistently been ready on time or shortly afterwards. In our experience, whether you order AYCE for dine in, or if you order a-la-carte for takeout, the value is the same.
My favorite rolls are the Rocky Hill roll and the Pink Lady roll. A couple fried Oreos for dessert are a tradition for us. The Kani salad is a nice appetizer, but unfortunately a hit-or-miss freshness-wise.
If I lived closer, I’d definitely visit and order takeout more often.

Came here on a weekday night for all you can eat dinner. Price was decent/fair, about $26-27 pre-tax for Friday/weekend dinners. We were seated quickly while the restaurant was about half occupancy. Cozy vibes but a bit dark interior. We put our food in and the sushi camd out very quickly, although they forgot one roll. Other items started rolling out a bit more slowly. Miso soup and seaweed salad were standard. Edamame was so overcooked that the shell was falling apart as we tried to eat it. Pork katsu also was severely overdone. Meat was tough and chewy. The teriyaki red snapper and chicken were also a bit overcooked. The gyoza was just okay. Some of the sushi rolls were very good, specifically the eel sashimi, the salmon skin roll, avocado cucumber, and mango rolls. The salmon, spicy salmon, and spicy tuna lacked depth and tasted the same - could have used a lot more seasoning. The staff were very attentive when we told them about missing items and even though the hot food items took a while, we give them the benefit of the doubt since it was dinnertime. We had two rounds of food but were given the check before being able to order dessert (we opted not to anyway, but sometimes can feel like rushing customers when there are still open tables). I would try them again when it's less busy since I did truly enjoy some of their rolls. However, overall needs a bit better quality control with overcooking their meats. Staff were professional and tried their best to deal with the dinner peak.

One of the last few standing “All you can eat” Sushi spots around. Considering the rising cost of food and goods in general, it’s a good bang for your buck! We moved to the area about 2 years ago and have been regulars since. Sushi House has good quality fish at great price.
The all you can eat menu consists of a generous variety of options. This isn’t to be mistaken or compared to your traditional/ artisan sushi restaurant, so please understand that due to the heavy volume this establishment sees, especially during peak dining hours quality can and will be sacrificed when trying to push out as much as they possibly can the the hungry guests.
Service has been good for the most part, we have had times where it was a bit “soulless”for lack of a better term but not all the time. For the majority of our visits, we leave happy and stuffed! Be specific on the quantities you want and they will deliver, out of respect please don’t over order or they will charge you. The atmosphere and seats are a bit outdated and worn ,we all hope they get updated eventually but it’s not to a point where it’s a deterrent to visit.
In summary, we enjoy sushi house very much! There’s quality fish and an extensive “all you can eat” menu for a discount price! Fun place to casual eat and drink with friends, family, dates and kids. Expect waits during peak dining hours and please don’t forget to tip your servers and sushi maker’s generously. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

4.5/5
Lots of variety on the menu and the pricing is very fair. Fish quality is not too bad but it’s all you can eat sushi so what do you really expect. My only complaint is that the service is considerably slow. So I would recommend to not go when you’re starving because you can’t expect a quick service. (Understandable because everyone is ordering huge portions as it’s all you can eat). The staff usually group together by the sushi bar and talk which makes it hard to get their attention if you’re sitting in the back or in a tucked away corner. I’ll definitely be a regular here.

Sushi house will always hold a special place in my heart from my college days going here and feasting on all you can eat sushi. Having been to more AYCE places now, I still will occasionally come back to this one solely for the peppered salmon sashimi which I can't get enough of. As for their other food I tend to view their sushi as generally at the level of most other sushi places although the quality of fish is sometimes questionable as it is typically not that cold. One other issue is that sometimes rolls can be forgotten/missed (although sometimes this works in our favor if we overestimated our appetite) which can be frustrating if it happens to be your first order. Other than that the only real complaint is when ordering the peppered salmon I have to write in plates after my number as the pieces are very small and if you try to ask for say 40+ you will always be given one plate regardless of the number you write. Overall this remains a great meal deal assuming you can eat at least 2 specialty rolls or their equivalent.

Possibly the best sushi place in the county! I have gone to many, but this place stands out. First of all, it's well known by everybody in the town. It's a favorite! Once you come in, your greeted with a staff member with candies and mints offered. Keep in mind that this is a family-owned business. It's a very lively atmosphere, yet busy. And I mean BUSY! Coming here on a Friday is like going to the Eras Tour. It is busy and almost everything is full. The wait is usually 10-30 minutes on average, but sometimes it could be longer. Once, I waited 2 hours for a table! You'd be lucky to get a table right away on Friday-Sunday. Although, it's for a reason. The food is drop-dead amazing! Beautiful presentation with it being fresh and delicious. My honest recommendations are the Rocky Hill Roll, Eel nigiri, and the fried oreo w/ vanilla bean ice cream. I truly recommend this place if your having a party or just a Friday night dinner. Truly amazing, deserves 5 stars!

Very affordable lunch, I just wish they’d update their current menu prices to their online ordering. They add on the difference at register. Also the cucumbers have a weird taste, brings down quality of California roll (which is the default add on to their bentos)

Went here for the all-you-can eat sushi at lunch time. The service was unfriendly. The menu was confusing; although it specified that sushi was per-piece, even the age tofu and takoyaki came out as single cubes which was frustrating because the menu did not state that and it added time to our meal when the kitchen was already producing food slowly.
The food overall was mediocre and it will not draw us to return, but even worse was the watery diarrhea I experienced all that evening. Just respect yourself enough to visit a proper sushi restaurant and enjoy high-quality, clean food.

All you can eat sushi used to be good. This place has ruined sushi for me. Poor service, lots of waiting, usually packed with teenagers. On your first order (which takes forever and an hour to get to your table) they give you decent fish, but on your second order they give you cheap nasty fish, and if you dare to place a third round order they give you old smelly, nearly rotten fish. steer clear of this place and keep enjoying sushi.

I have gone to Sushi House for years but will not return after my last visit. A man in a wheelchair was not allowed to sit at a six person table because he only had a party of 4. Sushi House refused to seat him at any other table than a 4 top that his wheelchair could not fit at. This customer polity requested to please be sat at the 6 person table since it was the only table to fit with his wheelchair. Sushi House did not help to accommodate this customer and it was incredibly disgusting to watch. This was also on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was not busy at all. I will not be returning to this restaurant if you can’t have equal access to all customers.

I came in with my husband last week and I was disappointed. Our waiter a young short man with glasses and reddish black hair was picking his nose.He did it twice infront of everyone. I watched to see if he wanted his hands and he just kept serving and giving out manus. Now we picked lots of stuff out the menu but they only bring you what they want at a time. We picked teriyaki chicken 3 times from the menu and got it has we were leaving the restaurant. We picked ice-cream and never got it. The waiters sometimes just pass you buy has you already have your menu ready. They also take a bit to serve your food even when it's not busy.

This place really, REALLY edges on five star for me. Let's start with the basics.
The place is clean, and comfortable enough, with very good staff. Definitely high marks there.
The food is good. The price is actually one of the best I've seen for all you can eat sushi. There's good variety, and the rolls are all well made.
So why not five stars? The food is good, but not great. The flavors don't quite pop like my personal favorite down in Southington. But man, four stars is not bad, and the place is really good. Definitely about 6-7 bucks cheaper too. All around a very solid all you can eat option. I would definitely recommend.

I come here all the time, at least twice a month, but last night was my last straw with this place. I got there at 9, one hour before closing and the server told us that there were a lot of people waiting for their food so they wouldn't seat us. There was at least one open table that I saw. She then proceeded to say that we could order food to go. How are you going to deny us service because you are behind on making people food and then ask us if we want to order food to go?

We were greeted nicely at the door, once we sat down it was like we no longer existed. Servers were not polite, our order was cut short by the staff. We filled out an appropriate amount of sushi and was given what they felt we could eat. Sushi was good, after waiting 45 min we were given straws for our water. The staff was not happy we were there and was seen by how they interacted with other customers. Will not be going back to dine in but possibly open to ordering Togo.

Food was very bland. The servers wasn’t helpful. Order a meal that was supposed to come with rice and salad. That’s was never served. I had the smallest chicken cutlet I had on this planet. My child size fit was bigger than the chicken cutlet. Paid 140 for 3 sushi rolls and 2 baby chicken cutlets. This did not include any drinks. Oh and let’s not forget the mandatory tip that was included in the meal. Crazy how the server made $15 in tips and we saw her for no more than 1 minute the whole hour I was there. Never again will I come back!

They need to get their reservation issues sorted out. The automatic answer to how long is the wait, is always 10-15 minutes. And that ends up being like an hour or longer wait. It's fine if you have nowhere to be afterwards, but the last time I was trying to eat there, we had plans to go to Bushnell afterwards for a show. So, we factored in just enough time for their supposed '10-15 min wait', and about 1.5 hrs for dinner. We waited for about 45 minutes, and there were still about 4 parties ahead of us. At that point, we had to leave otherwise we were going to be late for our show. Ended up getting a call from the restaurant an additional 30 minutes later telling us our table was ready. So a 10-15 minute wait, was in reality 1hr and 15 min.

Do not waste your money or time. This was the worst meal we have ever had. Not to mention FOOD POISONING! All six people in our party love to go out for sushi! But we do not love to leave with food poisoning… The food all came out at the wrong temperatures and at the wrong timing. They didn’t even bring half of our food to the table until we had to ask for it and then they played stupid like we never ordered it. The servers are extremely rude and not helpful. They do not explain the process of the restaurant and expect the patrons to know what todo. Some of our sushi was frozen with ice rocks in the middle and some was hot. And to top it off, there is nowhere stated that there’s an automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill. We found out when the bill came. The only person that hurt was our server… Long story short we do not recommend this restaurant, and I think they need a huge health code inspection.

Update: I am removing a star today. I cannot believe they charge $11.75 for a 3-year-old. That doesn't even make sense. I really used to love this place and honestly I am less likely to go back. Under 5 should be free or even $6. Just wow.
The food is so good but the service is the exact opposite. The food is the only thing that keeps us coming back. Only complaint aside from the service is that they charge for 2-year-olds. No reason for that. He likes to be with us at dinner, but won't eat more than a couple of bites and then he eats his own snacks.

Sushi House of Rocky Hill NEVER disappoints! For an all-you-can-eat kind of place, the quality of their sushi and sashimi is great! I've noticed that they're willing to seat groups of 2 - 8 people, but they may be able to work with more people per party as well. They're great at keeping track of which rolls and sushi were ordered and normally pretty quick with their delivery (depending on time of day and how busy). Only downside I've noticed is that there's only two bathrooms (1M, 1F) for customers; but otherwise, parking has been easy, seating is handled quickly and the food has been fantastic!

Came in for dinner for the first time and the service was great! We of course got the all you can eat and after we finished our first order we were given menus again to place new orders. I was also able to get a side of the eel sauce and the wait staff was kind and would check in everyone frequently. The sushi was ok and one of our rolls was missed during our first order. For the price you pay the quality of the food definitely matches so if you’re looking for great or high quality sushi I’d recommend going elsewhere. The restaurant could definitely use some renovations to make it more welcoming. I would NOT recommend the fried Oreos, they use the same batter that’s used for entire menu which definitely not be used on a dessert item and honestly was the worst fried Oreo I’ve had in my life. Besides this everyone was super friendly and if you’re looking for a cheap dinner this is definitely your go to!

This place is famous for its Sushi. I couldn’t agree more!
FOOD: The food to get here is the Sushi. They hands down have the most variety in this entire area and offer the best roll in my opinion “Rocky Hill Roll”. Carb meat, shrimp tempura, cucumber! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
ATMOSPHERE: I really only this restaurant as a Lunch Place.
SERVICE: I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant with their customary service.
DRINKS: Sure Grab a Scorpion Bowl but not me at lunchtime.
OVERALL: All-You-Can-Eat Sushi lunch is by far the best of any similar restaurant within in 50 miles! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Looking at the bad reviews saying the wait time for food to come out is baffling considering what some of these people order, of course it’s going to be a while especially if you order several different things. I believe the wait time is very reasonable. I have come several times on weekdays and weekends. On weekends only once I had to wait to get seated for a while but again it was reasonable wait time considering how busy it was. The staff are very very attentive to when you’re almost done eating your plate so they bring you another order sheet before you’re done so by the time you’re done the next plate is already coming. The staff is also very friendly and I never had any issues.
I would recommend the Godzilla roll (it has a hint of spicy) if you like California roll.

Packed into this place like sardines in a can, be prepared to experience incredibly lengthy wait times for subpar sushi and food. More than 20 minutes to get water. Almost a hour to get our first order of kitchen and sushi and then over 30 minutes after that to get our second order. We placed 3 orders and were there for over 2 hours. The menu can be confusing too: at other places, certain things mean 1 order but here if you write in 1, you literally only get one. We thought we ordered 1 order of crispy calamari. Literally, 1 calamari ring came to the table. I understand why it’s popular seeing as there’s really nothing else like it around this area but take it from me, if you’re looking for good/great all you can eat sushi in CT, check out Sushi X in West Haven.

$25 for all you can eat sushi, kitchen items( chicken, salmon teriyaki) and appetizers. Dine in only. You get a lot for the price. The sushi was actually good. Sashimi was excellent. Wide variety of options. Be sure to get there at least one hour before they close or they won't let you in. It does get really busy around dinner time and for good reason. The food quality is excellent. Service could be a bit better. It does take a while to get your sushi sometimes, be sure to get apps and kitchen food while waiting for sushi. Overall would recommend if you are a sushi lover.

The smallest pieces of sashimi I have ever seen. You pay 25.00 for what?

I’m giving 2 stars because the food was good but the service was inadequate. I was very excited for the AYCE experience. There was only one other table here when we were seated. We received our appetizers fairly quickly. However, we waited 40 mins to receive 3 rolls and a few pieces of sashimi. There were two table that came in while we were eating our appetizers and somehow, they received their rolls before we did. When I asked the server how much longer for our food, her response was “I don’t know” and never went to follow up to check the status of our order. I did notice that the servers asked all the other tables how their food was after they began to eat and if they needed anything. But they never asked us. The rolls were great, everything tasted fresh. But the service was mediocre. Although I enjoyed the food, I would not come back here based on the service.

I really enjoy this place, the food is good and the staff is nice. Sometimes it gets crowded and wait times are a bit long but I think its totally worth the money and wait <3

The sushi is very poor quality. It is pretty obvious that all of the fish used in the sushi is the cheapest quality fish and filler that the owners can buy. All of the sushi tastes almost exactly the same. The tempura rolls have little to no taste at all, and a very limited amount of actual shrimp.
On top of poor quality food, the service is bad. The servers are slow, unhelpful, and generally just not pleasant to speak with. They have an “I just can’t wait to get out of here” type of attitude. The place is also falling apart, with broken booths and dusty and crusty decor.
Even for all you can eat sushi, this place is absolutely not worth it.

Great food and a variety of menu choices

Best all you can eat sushi I have been to. The selection and variety for the price cannot be beat. As expected with all you can eat, the service is a little slow.

If I can rate zero star I would immediately do… worst stuff I have ever put in my mouth. Everything tastes awful, not even getting real salmon. Fish and shrimps were not fresh. Literally disgusting food and it’s all slimy. Terrible experience .This place is a big NO ! Don’t waste your money.

Sushi house is one of my favorite places to go out and eat sushi, the price is good for the food you get. Not going to lie the wait is questionable (sometimes it feels like forever before food comes out), but at the end of the day the food and overall experience is amazing it’s an all you can eat sushi buffet less than $30 what can get better than that?

As always, the food was great and the service was good. We (party of 3) visited when it was busy (7 pm, Monday evening), so the service was a little on the slow side. Overall, always a good place to curb that sushi craving.

They say they are open until 10. I walk in at 9 and they say they are not seating anymore. You aren’t open until 10 then.

The price for all you can eat is unbeatable and the sushi is excellent! Great Sashimi and deserts too!
There have been a few times when the servers were inattentive and less than friendly.

The food here is alright but the service SUCKS. waited an hour for our food, all cooked food was mixed in with the raw food and we were missing half our order. The people here speak no English to the point where we couldn't ask for a drink menu because they just didn't understand us. They never came to take away dirty dishes or our menus, instead I had to place them on the railing next to the table to signify they can take them away. Avoid this place as much as you can. There are other local places with all you can eat. Their food is also mediocre. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was hoping to return home and rate five stars… My husband and I love sushi so we decided to try Sushi House based upon the reviews and it was all you can eat. The staff wasn’t very welcoming nor friendly, the menu is vague and quite confusing - even though I asked the waitress for clarification I received little. The miso soup was delicious however we ordered two orders fried calamari and they brought us two, not orders but two pieces of fried calamari. The sushi was mediocre, there was more rice than fish. They aren’t attentive to their customers, they didn’t ask if we were ready to order, we had to inform them, never offering more water or if there was anything else we wanted or needed. It was sufficiently clean although not immaculate, there was no wait to be seated perhaps due to the holiday weekend. Pity I had such high expectations.

I go here often. I love it here. I’ve dined in before but I typically order to go and the sushi is always so tasty. Definitely recommend this place.

The servers are rude and looks like they hate you . I asked for my food bc I was waiting more than 45min and she said that it’s in the line . The food is good but it’s not worth it.

Went on a Monday night, kitchen food came out at decent speed but place was packed and sushi took over an hour wait to get after ordering, so was just sitting there starving. They only gave us two cards and then cut it off (we had 5 people) and the only reason we were there for 2 hours was the incredibly slow service. I asked for one refill on my soda and was told I couldn’t get a refill at all instead of just being charged for it lol. What place doesn’t just charge you for a refill? The food was good which is why I give 2 stars but the service was really awful.
