Had a very nice dinner at a very nice restaurant. The highlight of my dinner was the tuna taco. The tuna was so fresh. It was very delicious. We also had the shrimp tempura roll, which was kind of on the bland side for me. We had the chicken dinner and the salmon dinner. They were very accommodating when it came to my food allergies. we also had the lava cake for dessert which was very very good.
The service was very good. We had a very nice dinner and it’s a very nice restaurant.

I was invited to a friend celebration and he decided he wanted to go to Feng chophouse. It really looked great walking in look like a five star restaurant. The waiter was a bit rude at the beginning. He did however explain each dish properly, but I wasn’t really excited over the meal. I love fine dining and you will always see me doing honest reviews for places so that my viewers can get ahonest opinion and enjoy themselves. I mean the food was OK but it’s definitely not a Michelin star restaurant.

Parking is located across the street and required payment so just be aware. Our dishes were pretty tasty and filling, loved the rice! Service was pretty good, but the lighting here is incredibly dim so if you’re someone who needs bright lighting or bringing an older guest I’d suggest bringing them elsewhere. Was honestly surprised that the $12 shrimp add on for the steak only comes with THREE pieces!!! Besides that the steak has zero sides, and honestly the flavor is comparable to steakhouses/ restaurants that are much cheaper and provide sides.

If you can't find something tasty in the three menu's that are handed to you then your not hungry. We sample there spicy Calamari and yellowtail tuna sushi followed by the chicken Udon noodle and washed it down with a variety of what they call "mocktails". Everything was tasty and well presented. If you have a special event for two or many, I would recommend giving this establishment a serious consideration but ready your taste buds and your wallet-well worth it!

Our evening out in Hartford ended with a truly fabulous dining experience at Feng. The atmosphere had such a welcoming vibe. We started with a sushi roll that was simply delicious. We both chose the porterhouse steak for our entree and they were cooked to perfection. Although, the highlight of my visit was when I expressed to the bartender, April that I was looking for something different and fun to drink. She asked me some key questions and presented me with a masterpiece. We will certainly be back.

Being from CT but having spent 10 years in little Tokyo in Los Angeles, I’d assumed really good sushi was impossible to come by in my home state. Feng has proven that theory wrong. WOW, visiting from Portsmouth, NH we came across Feng Chophouse in Downtown Hartford. Myself and my partner were both not only impressed with our delicious meal (we both got the filet) it was cooked to perfection, but the service was top tier!

Who knew Hartford had a food scene? Stopped on the way through with my partner and had an amazing over the top dining experience that wasn’t expected. My family and I went here for my sister’s birthday last night. The food was excellent, and the hostess was very warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Erin, was not as positive. When my boyfriend asked if the steak and cheese sandwich was good, Erin responded with, “I mean, it’s a sandwich.” I found this response rude and unprofessional; as a server, you’d expect him to be able to speak positively about the menu. He seemed like he was having a rough night and made my family uncomfortable with his responses. For a bill over $700, we expected much better service.

Food is good atmosphere is good. But I’ll probably never go here again because the waiter was extremely rude to my family. The food took an hour, the dessert took half hour. Overall not a great experience. I would’ve given the food and atmosphere a 5 if the service wasn’t so terrible. Also you have to give a $100 deposit for a reservation and a gift card is given when they bring the bill instead of adding the deposit to your bill.

Ordered two steaks and sushi as an appetizer. Sushi took 45 mins to arrive. Our roll was great top notch sushi. The steaks on the other hand left a lot to be desired. I ordered a porterhouse and its flavor was completely overpowered by the amount of butter they used. What is the point of having a high end aged steak if you’re going to completely drown out its flavor. Server was good and apologetic about the wait. stopped in to get some food from a long day of schooling and wanted to treat myself to a good meal. The manager showed no interest in taking my order . he was very rude . i finally got my food it was in a to go bag which i never implied that I wanted it to go . i then open my food the order was messed up. Sat down and continued the food even though it wasn’t what asked for . i asked for a glass of water , the waiter came in and said “ummmm” then walked away and never came back. I told the manager who came out and asked what was the problem i let him know my order was messed up and the lady never came back with my water he then continues to take the next customers order in my face and then proceeds to the back to the kitchen letting me know that he will remake my order which i didn’t want because I didn’t have time and he dismissed us by again not coming back to the front counter to fix the issue. I wanted 10 minutes and he just left me there hanging . VERY POOR SERVICE , MANNERS, AND STAFF.

Sat down and just knew the place seemed familiar. As I sat there, I began to recall setting up my sound system to spin a night here in the early 2000s! New ownership since then and I find this more than amenable! We sat at a hightop for 4 and our server, Sarah, was awesome! She was friendly, witty, patient and informative, but most importantly, she made one hell of a Lychee nut Martini!

She came to table last moment with dessert menu and bill together. I was going to order the dessert but when I saw bill in her hand I just paid her. She needs to be professional. First of all, the PRICE was outrageous for food that overall does not deliver. Also, there is NO valet parking. You must walk down the block to park in a lot that you pay for parking in an area that isn't great. The filet mignon was great, BUT the ribeye was awful for $65!! Ordered medium rare which was cooked correctly. However, the meat itself was very tough and chewy and seriously underseasoned. When I'm paying prices like this, I expect a much higher grade of steak. I'm very disappointed and won't go back. Capital Grill steak much much better. On a positive note, the ambience was great. Service was good.

Ruth Chris’s steakhouse in newington and J.Gilberts can both kick rocks! Those spots are for old white people that don’t know how to season there steaks. The dry aged ribeye here is insanely tender, well cooked and full of flavor. The sushi was also extremely fresh and tasty! I don’t base a restaurant on service typically cause I care about quality of food more…but even the waitress was amazing with that being said

This is now my favorite sushi restaurant. I can't comment on the chophouse menu, although it looked amazing. Will definitely try the steaks someday, but it is so hard to get away from the sushi menu! My only negative comment is not a fan of the location, but it's worth going downtown. As for some of the reviews from vegetarians. I don't understand why you would go to a sushi / chophouse for dinner, then have the nerve to leave a low review regarding menu options. Go to a vegetarian restaurant or eat tofu at home.

Been coming here for 4+ years, always loved it. Maki rolls were removed from the menu but server got visibly upset when I politely asked about them. Server also laughed about my sister-in-law’s allergy. Always spend $200+ here so you can’t be losing that much money by having some maki rolls on the menu. Never had this server before but he completely ruined the night for us. He was inattentive and, to put it bluntly, a true d-bag that shouldn’t be in the restaurant industry. Still tipped him well. So sad to say goodbye to a place I once loved. Won’t be returning ever again, sadly.

We had a reservation for 7pm that they accommodated our change in plans and moved it to 6:15pm. We got there early, and they made a table ready for us anyway. Any place else would have made us wait.
The food was thoughtfully presented and perfectly cooked, The portions were just enough to fill you without inducing sleep. I loved that in an Asian place, there was a no rice option as I cannot eat rice. My date did have the kimchi fried rice, and he raved about it. The chicken entree was seasoned, juicy, tender, and filling. The lamb rack was 👌🏾.
We ordered the spider roll and the lobster roll. They were tasty but did not do justice to the flavors of crab and lobster. Could not tell the difference without remembering what the other ingredients in the rolls were. They did taste good though.

As a vegetarian diner navigating the menu at Feng Chophouse, I found myself faced with limited options, with tofu emerging as the sole vegetarian offering amidst a sea of meat-centric dishes. While the presence of tofu provides a semblance of vegetarian representation, the overall lack of variety leaves much to be desired in terms of a satisfying dining experience.

While Feng Chophouse prides itself on offering a diverse selection of dishes, predominantly focused on meat-centric offerings, the absence of substantial vegetarian options was glaringly evident. With only a few token vegetarian dishes and sides tucked away in the corner of the menu, it felt as though vegetarians were an afterthought rather than a valued demographic.

The limited vegetarian offerings consisted mainly of uninspired salads and basic vegetable sides, leaving much to be desired in terms of creativity and flavor. As someone who appreciates the artistry and complexity of vegetarian cuisine, I was left feeling underwhelmed by the lack of thought and effort put into crafting vegetarian dishes that would rival their meat counterparts.
BTW their Brussel spouts was very tasty.

Had an amazing experience! So amazing I’m still sitting in the restaurant while writing this review to make sure I do not forget to give the recognition this place deserves!!!! Two individuals from Boston strolling in on Valentine’s Day with no reservation, found seating at the bar ( started with just one seat but a lovely waiter found a chair in the back!) Cassie was our server and our lovely mixologist!! ( huge difference between a bartender and mixologist!) I legit tried to try every drink I seen that was made! The other mixologist were absolutely amazing! Details, perfect pour and wonderful presentation!!! ( everything I appreciate as a mixologist my self for over 10 years) these ladies killed it!!! Atmosphere was A+, met some cool people (Paul!) at the bar! Food was amazing , I order my very first Tomahawk it was amazing!! Also had the surf and turf dumpling and OMG! I will be coming again ! And already shared photos and address of this beautiful gem! could not find a thing to be disappointed by! I will be back!!

The atmosphere and the food are incredible. I recommend the ribeye or the braised short ribs. The oysters, sushi, and fried rice are also amazing! The drinks and dessert could be better, but overall, it's a great steakhouse.

Great ambiance, dimly lit with a light for each table. Great food. For apps, the foe gras duck dumplings were good, the surf and turf dumplings even better. For entrees, the spare ribs are sublime, the surf and turf roll yummy, the chicken katsu is standard, kinda similar to the one at another place for $10 less. The udon noodles were good and so was the bacon fat fried rice. We had some green tea ice cream for my birthday, and it came with a little birthday sign and a candle--also delicious.
Second visit, sat at the Sushi Counter and it was amazing. We were able to watch the chefs make sushi, nigiri and sashimi. We tried to nori tacos and they were delicious!! I highly recommended this place if you're in the Hartford area.

I have to share my favorite place in town. Both chefs truly elevated the dining experience to a whole new level and since then I visit them for good sushi after long day at work or on a relaxing weekend.

Their skill, creativity, and attention to detail led me to eat two dozens of large-size sushi and sometimes even more without any exaggeration. Both chefs as well as the server remember me by name as Ive become a regular.

Plates are always so beautifully displayed, showcasing the chefs' commitment to quality and freshness. Fish arrives from Japan the same day and I have to share that despite me going to many expensive omakase in NYCfrequently, feng chop house in Hartford is never less.

Both chefs are so talented, quick, and observant. Since the one visit where they saw that I love garlic, both chef prepared me separate dish of grilled garlic on the side even without me having to request. As I always sit at the sushi bar, I witness many customers compliment both chefs as they walk out. Servers are so professional, caring and most importantly motivated to provide good customer service :)

Overall, my experience at Feng chophouse is always a true delight, thanks to the incredible chefs who elevated the art of sushi-making to new heights and such welcoming and professional servers. I really wish they could get good recognition for all of their work ethics and hard work 🙏🏻

If this was a review on the food alone it would be 5 stars. I’m 7months pregnant so I had to only get cooked sushi and a mocktail which were both delicious.

The night was thrown off by one of the bus boys (skinny, possibly Hispanic male) who accidentally dropped a whole cup of cold water on both me and my partner. When he stood the drink menu next to the cup he had just filled, the menu fell and made the cup fall. I understand mistakes happen, but it’s the way it was handled (or not handled at all) that was frustrating. He nonchalantly said “I saw that coming” while my partner was drenched in ice cold water. He awkwardly left the table without wiping it down or offering to get us a towel or napkin and never came back. At the very least an apology would’ve been nice. We sat there for about 10 minutes trying to get other waiter’s attention and drying ourselves with the silverware napkin…which didn’t do much since it’s really thin. Finally, another busboy (white young male, longer hair) came and helped wipe it down and got us towels. He said something along the lines of “wow he left the table like that”? The rest of the night no one really acknowledged that my partner was completely soaked and uncomfortable or offered anything or even an apology. The original bus boy ignored us the whole night when I was trying to get a refill and tried to get his attention….maybe he was embarrassed… either way just common sense. I would expect a fine dining establishment to train staff better on addressing issues like this. Again, mistakes happen but at least know how to address them. Anyways the food was good.

Really juicy and thick burger. The fish was also surprisingly fresh. Hard to find a spot that does both sea and land well but was impressed with both quality.

We came for an anniversary dinner. When the server came over for our orders, I gave him our drink and app orders and said I would decide on the main after the apps. I wanted to try the apps to decide if I wanted more sushi or a steak for the main. The server was upset and said we needed to order all together to “help” the kitchen. He rushed us so much throughout the meal. We were done in an hour because they just kept stacking more food on our table even though we weren’t finished with our courses. Come to find out a 12 top came in his section while we were on our mains and he was just hurrying us along so he could spend his time with them. I was so excited for this meal and I had a disappointing experience. I won’t be back, I’ll just drive to Tao for a better experience and similar food.

Very unassuming place from the outside. Across the street from a open surface parking lot. Inside, the decor was very nice, some cross between asian and modern contemporary. I was immediately seated after giving my reservation info and promptly served a glass of water, which never passed half empty. I originally was going to order the Sashimi Omakase, but the server informed be of a more authentic Omakase course that wasn't on the menu for around $120 p/p. I was interested to see what they could do so I went with their suggestion as well as a cocktail and a appetizer.
I could probably write another paragraph describing each course but I'll summarize instead. Overall, the freshness is perfect. Taste was pure and let the fish/shellfish take center stage while the few that had a sauce accompanied perfectly. Portion size was just right for me, where this was going to be my only meal of the day. The only issue I had was the order in which the dishes came out, unless it was on purpose. I felt that mixing the Unagi Tacos and the A5 Wagyu in the middle took a bit away from the more delicate flavors of the dish that followed. Also the photos are in the order the dishes came out. I personally would have ended the course with the first dish that came out, but that might because it was my favorite dish and nothing after that could top it.
All in all, fantastic place, great service, and even better food. Will come back if I ever get the chance and try some of their other menu items like their steaks.

We spent well over $300 on a dinner for 2 here, but it took us over 2 hours to have dinner based on how long the food took to come out.

I'd say stick with sushi here and skip steak. We ordered a wagyu NY strip to share, and it was completely raw on the inside after ordering medium rare. Only alternative we were offered was to throw the steak back on the grill. Really? A $90 steak, ruined. Ordered 2 sushi rolls, took 45 minutes for them to come, one was incorrect. Crispy rice was something we specifically came for as well, that was served to us last instead of with the other 2 apps we chose (surf and turf dumplings and shashito peppers, both pretty good)
Duck fat potatoes and Brussel sprouts were pretty underwhelming.

Overall, this place just disappointed us between the extremely slow service and the raw steak. Server and managers reaction to this seemed as if they'd seen it before.

The service was absolutely terrible it was No room for accommodations. Waiter Taylor had a rude tone and attitude towards our party. The food was really good but poor quality drinks and wouldn’t allow any changes. Her attitude and rudeness ruined my birthday night.
****** And as I WAS LEAVING THE MANAGER PULLED ME TO CHECK ME ABOUT THIS REVIEW I WROTE WHILE IN THE RESTAURANT. Exact words were “i was listening in the other room and Taylor was not rude. Just because you don’t hear what you want does not mean she was rude”. I replied and stated this was MY EXPERIENCE and I am very valid in my experience. I was very shocked this was happening and he was willing to argue back and forth with me on my experience. It was Very unprofessional and uncalled for instead of apologizing he insisted on checking me on my post. Our party still treated Taylor with respect and thanked her countless times while she served us. They were not accommodating, I had booked a reservation for 6 people and forgot to include myself (dumb on my part) and Taylor was not willing to accommodate at first asked manager for permission and he allowed it. Then I ordered a coconut drink that was very heavy on the coconut and I asked to get it replace with something else and was told no due to the drink description stating it had Coconut. Which is understandable but people don’t always like their food and drinks and many restaurants are very accommodating and make sure you leave satisfied.

We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday where we were clearly discriminated against. For starters it took almost 15 minutes for us to be greeted once we sat down at our reserved table. The dark haired bartender/ waitress was talking amongst another blonde bartender instead of greeting us. Tables around us with were attended to several times during this wait. Once we asked for the special cocktail of the day it was clearly made up on the spot as the waitress hesitated before saying “watermelon punch” I couldn’t help but laugh at this. Once she placed our order to her friend whom she was speaking with for 15 minutes before greeting us she insisted the drink be “light like really really light” I wasn’t sure what this meant but once I got my drink I realized the lack of liquor in the drink. Our food was brought out by gentlemen bus boys whom I pray receive tips. Once I placed another drink order with the blond bartender I told her “not light this time” once I received my second drink it clearly had more alcohol.

My point of this message is the restaurant needs sensitivity training on unconscious biases. It felt from the moment we walked in they expected us to not be familiar with fine dining. From the waiting to the waitresses all around standoffish behavior I won’t be coming back to this establishment. This treatment is quite familiar in the area of downtown Hartford.

We are two college educated, Diversity & Inclusion certified professionals who work with the state and the top insurance company in Hartford in finance. Us nor anybody of any background should have to feel unwanted in an establishment, do better.

I went for my wife birthday and the manager never greet us even though I saw him walked and asked other customers if everything was ok. Not sure if it was a race issue or kids are not allowed? However the food was delicious even though they imposed me to pay 20% tips came about 65 usd. Please tell me no racial issue with the night manager? If I was the manager I would consider all customers unless you are not the owner. I paid 400 usd and was willing to do it again but I want to understand if it happens to anyone else. Thanks

Excellent sushi, sub par steaks. Rib eye was like a steak bought from a local grocery store and fried in a skillet. Nice atmosphere and nice service.

Feng responded to my comment above. In my response this has nothing to do with being a dry aged steak. I am very familiar with dry aged steaks and this simply didn’t have any of that flavor nor any flavor. To be specific it was as if barely wet aged and from a grocery store and fried in a pan with vegetable oil. Also we ordered two for the table both medium rare so it wasn’t a problem with one steak. And I wasn’t the only one who commented on it. We are just not the type to send back food as it was edible. We did send back the 2015 wine as it was spoiled or something and the waitress graciously exchanged.

I’ve eaten here several times and find the sushi/atmosphere/service to be excellent. Steak not so much and it’s nothing to do with dry aged.

I was able to reserve a last-minute birthday with my family. The atmosphere was very cozy, and the waitress was friendly. The Food was delicious. We ordered different kinds of sushi, steak NY, lamb rack, lobster tail, and meatballs with fried rice for the kids. The portions were significant and well-seasoned. However, I think their price is expensive compared to other places. Also, the tips are automatically included in your bill. They take 20% of your total bill, which is unfair. They should allow you to choose the amount you want to tip based on your satisfaction with their services.

What a GREAT Spot! It’s been a (whole lot more than) a minute since I checked out restaurants in the Springfield, MA/Hartford, CT “corridor.”

I worked in downtown Hartford over 20 yrs ago. When the city (like every city in CT) was well overdue for any kind of investment. Feng Chophouse is a beautiful spot. Really just a gorgeous, welcoming interior. Lovely finishes from the light fixtures to the tables and chairs to the bar. I sat at the bar, two nights in a row. Truthfully I showed up right at opening, 4pm and then camped at that bar. The bar has two big TVs showing news or sports. I LOVE a nice bar with a great vibe, TVs and good food. Feng Chophouse knocks it directly out of the park on all counts.

I MUST mention the service. I think this was, honestly, The Best Service I’ve ever experienced dining out and we all know that I dine OUT! The waitstaff is fantastic. They know what they’re doing, they are professionals, they’ve been there, done that and somehow were keeping all 3 of my beverages filled and with fresh ice in my water. For. Hours. Amazing!! (I actually order water and then I DRINK water, lots of it. That can be a real challenge for a lot of places…)

The “fusion” of sushi/Asian food and Steakhouse seems genius to me. I don’t eat beef, but the menu is impressive. I DID attempt to eat my way through the sushi/nonmeat offerings! There is not a bad Sake list and I had a bottle both nights. There is a Happy Hour menu 4pm to 5:30pm (might be only weeknights??) And the quality of the food offered for the prices is CRAZY!! I had 4 excellent, large, inside out sushi rolls from the Happy Hour menu. They were $5 each. Craziness. Such an amazing value.

I made a plan before showing up on Day 1. There are actually two appetizer menus, plus are Sushi rolls and Nigiri and salads and side orders. I could graze my way through many items, which is always my goal. I don’t want to commit to one, giant entree.

Day 1: I ordered 3 appetizers off the “Feng Signature” menu; Hirame Maki, Otoro Caviar and Crispy Rice Sushi. VERY GOOD. All of them. Honestly, the type of menu items I’ve only had in NYC. Really, really good. High quality ingredients, well made, well presented. Each piece was the proper size for a sushi piece.

Each piece of sushi maki or nigiri should be one bite. And not the kind of bite that almost cuts off your air supply. The sushi chef needs to know what they are doing to execute proper sushi. The chefs here at Feng know what they’re doing. Their sushi technique is very good. And they are creating pieces and rolls to appeal to a pretty wide audience (i.e., steakhouse eaters, Happy Hour folks, the neighborhood locals, business peeps etc etc.). Which is pretty impressive.

Caesar Salad. Very good. Especially the croutons and croutons are, honestly, usually terrible. I actually picked these out to eat! LOL

Kimchi Fried Rice: DO NOT skip this side. DELICIOUS, also huge. They are not holding back with the portions here. Altho maybe skip the poached egg. Something went wrong with that (maybe a microwave??); the white was runny and the yolk was solid. The reverse of what you’re looking for…

For dessert I had two pieces of Faroe Islands Salmon Nigiri. Perfect.

Day 2: started with 4 Happy Hour Rolls. Once again; I can’t believe the quality for the price! SO GOOD.

The Chophouse Salad (minus bacon). WOW!! GREAT SALAD. Best Salad I’ve had in a long time. GET THIS SALAD!

Then I had 2 rounds of Nigiri: Otoro, Hamachi, Kinmedi, Hirame; Foie Gras (!), Kanpachi, Madai, Shima Aji. You do NOT need soy sauce with this Nigiri. Each piece is what I would expect at one of my great Omakase spots in NYC: complex, fresh flavors with each piece of fish. Lovely. Delightful. Fresh pieces beautifully presented.

Then! Shishito Peppers app. Uhhhhh…this was A LOT of super delicious peppers. Really, really good.

Dessert: Truffle Fries. I couldn’t finish. These bad boys are actually Steak Fries and the portion, again, is enormous. Also! Hot food comes out PIPING hot. You need to pace yourself.

Went to Feng with my daughter and a friend. The service was excellent, I ordered the salmon with roasted corn salad and it was delicious. The ambiance was amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back soon.

Really loved this place! Good sushi, fish was very fresh and high quality. Not sure about the meat though, didn't order it. The atmosphere is similar to Tao at the casino but I loved that this restaurant gives people enough room and privacy, not 50 tables cramped together. Everything was great, I'll definitely come back!

This was our first time here. As a family of four we were seated the bar under a loud speaker… we asked to move and were seated in the back where we should have been, but on the aisle to the restroom, better than before and the chairs are not comfy… that said the food was wonderful! And the service was excellent, really liked our waiter. The lamb was very rich and savory.

I had a bad experience tonight in this restaurant. My husband and I went to dinner to celebrate Mother's Day and the situation was horrible. We took my little daughter and everything was fine until my daughter cried for 2 seconds and from that moment I had the Waitress on top of us every minute, the food arrived and we had to put it away so uncomfortable that it set the atmosphere, a very good restaurant but apparently they are not tolerant of children. I thought it was because it was a little late and they were going to close but the place was full and only we were being attacked every second, not even if the account was going to be free

We came in to eat for our anniversary. The food was good we got the surf and turf dumplings and two miso soups for an appetizer although not traditional I was pretty surprised by the flavor of the soup it is highly recommended. For entrees we had the Australian Wagyu steak and two signature rolls along with the fingerling potatoes. The steak and the rolls were amazing although the potatoes were left barley touched as they were not good. Although we expressed this with our bartender it was never addressed again and left on the bill. We do have have to say the reason I’m scoring them so low was the service. When we sat down we were the only ones in the restaurant and all you could hear was the workers talking. Our bartender came to the table and took our orders long after we were ready because she was sitting at the bar on Instagram talking with her friends. She didn’t check on our appetizer until we were done with them and once we got our food we did not see her until we were well done. She never refilled our waters and although I did want another drink I had to wait a while until a different bartender took over for a while. She really saved the day. We didn’t catch her name but she was blonde and very attentive she cleared our plates and made us fresh drinks. After we already had everything the original bartender came over and cashed us out. Overall, although I feel as the food is worth it, unfortunately the service was not. I feel as though if I spent 290 dollars on 2 people we should have had a better experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful. The lights are dim - with glowing lights - and the music is upbeat (jazz / house music, etc.). Plus there is a bar area 🍸 and a lot of open space. I had tried the shirmp/ beef dumpling as an appetizer, the beet salad, 24 oz porterhouse steak, and the duck fat potatoes. Plus, I had the good fortune and the pink pineapple margarita for my drinks. The food was good, but my steak was kind of dry. As for my drink, I enjoyed the good fortune better than the pink pineapple margarita 🍹. I would definitely recommend it.

Had a great dinner with my wife and sister this past Saturday! The Service and Food were both very good and I will be going back! I have just two complaints, both of which would have been a simple e-mail to the staff if there had been an e-mail address anywhere on the website. Instead, I will post them here.
1) My sister ordered the Udon Noodles with Katsu Chicken which arrived minus the poached egg. It was still delicious but the egg would have added much more depth.
2) My espresso arrived in a Right Handed cup. As a lefty, it was both surprising to see and slightly comical to use with my left hand. Maybe less stylish but more functional cups could be swapped in for the sake of the 12 % of the population that are left handed?
Just a thought.
We will be back to give it another try.

PROS: I had Taylor as my server and she was excellent. Offered great recommendations and was very attentive. The sushi was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the nigiri and the rolls we ordered. Very clean place and nice spot.

CONS: Ordered the 10oz center cut filet and I have to say it was quite underwhelming. This was the only negative of our meal but otherwise a great place to eat! Will return and try another steak later for comparison.

Atmosphere was very modern, dark, and intimate.
We ordered the dry aged porterhouse and dry aged ribeye and they were phenomenal. Our sides were the garlic mashed potatoes and the duck fat potatoes. The sides were good but slightly low on salt, which is fine. You can see how massive the portions are in the pictures.
The bone butter didnt taste much different than standard unsalted butter.

Went here for dinner. The food was super delicious, the service was bad. We went as a group and wanted to split the check into separate checks with itemized items. Our waitress said she cannot do that. How come a super fancy restaurant cannot split the checks based on what that person ordered? This is my first time encountered something like this. She said they can only split the check evenly or we have to tel her specifically how much amount to charge on our credit cards. We told her that we need the checks to be itemized so we can each have receipt for the expense report for our business travel. She insisted she cannot do that. She then told her manager to come out and explains it to us. The manager came out and said the same thing. She said they are on “Asian” system and doesn’t do the checks separate. I don’t even know what “Asian” system she meant. It is still bizarre how a restaurant could charge a plate more than $40 cannot afford to a “system” to split checks. This should not be this complicated. I will never go back here. Service is terrible, and they need to invest in a better paying “system”

Perfect place for a night out; it is intimate, clean, and modern. The staff is friendly, food is fresh and absolutely delicious. It has become on of our favorite places in downtown Hartford. They have some of the best sushi around, the Wagyu is perfectly cooked and well worth it, and they have many drinks to choose from that always pair well with the main course or dessert if you still have room for it.

Went here for my husbands birthday dinner. The ambiance of the place was absolutely beautiful and a really nice setting. My husband said the sushi was absolutely amazing, my shrimp appetizer was great! My meal was great, I got the filet and two sides of mash potatoes and asparagus. I will say they should have added some butter or something to the steak as when it came out it was a bit dry but I ordered some on the side and added it and it was great. I was also caught off guard because the steak (which was over $50) came with no sides so I ordered some but the sides were well over 2 servings. If I would have know that I would have split the sides with my husband versus ordering separate sides! Also the waiter could have been a little more attentive. I had to wait to find her to ask for soy sauce when the app came out, then wait to find her to ask for the salt and pepper and then wait to find her to ask for butter for the steak before I could eat it. She didn’t come check on us and ask how our food was at all. Overall though it was a great experience with great food. Definitely will be back and now that we know a few dos/donts it will be even better for next time!

If you love sushi or you are trying it for the first time this is the place you need to be. Happy hour at Feng is out of this world. Fresh, lots of options and quick! Also, the wagu slider is to die for, no need to pay capital grille prices. The staff is so knowledgeable and genuinely proud of their top notch ingredients and food... ask them about the sushi rice!!!!
