First time dining here it was a decent experience. They had experienced sushi chefs that knew what they were doing and I was excited to go back. That said, I’ve tried it two more times since and each time has declined more and more.
This last visit was not a pleasant dining experience at all. The place smelled like sewage bad customers were leaving. That may not have been the restaurant’s fault entirely. The veteran Chefs were gone. We ordered a simple bento box to go and waited right about an hour to get it and several people coming in after us were being served their full meals and sushi plates first like our order didn’t matter. I had to literally remind them of the order they “misplaced” our food ticket. The California rolls got thrown in with all the teriyaki sauce and everything was thrown together in a horrible way the chicken and spring rolls were burned crisp. It was a terrible way to spend $40.

“A Sushi Experience to Remember (For All the Wrong Reasons)”
I ordered takeout—a couple of sushi rolls, including the Colorado roll and some others. Let me just say, they were as bland and uninspired as a PowerPoint presentation on tax law. The rolls were visually unappealing, like they were assembled by someone who’s mad at sushi.
But the real star of this review? The smell of the restaurant. My five minutes waiting for my order felt like an eternity in a sensory hell. Imagine a potpourri of stale cigarettes, greasy fryer fumes, and a dash of body odor for good measure. It was like stepping into a “Worst Smells of the Year” competition, and this place was aiming for gold.
I told my wife afterward, “Thank goodness I tested this place with takeout first.” If I had brought her there for date night, I’m pretty sure I’d be sleeping on the couch indefinitely. The pictures online are lovely, but this is a cautionary tale of not judging a sushi roll by its Instagram filter.
Consider yourself warned—unless you’ve lost your sense of smell and taste, in which case, this might just be your dream spot.

This place was a major disappointment for sushi. I was so excited to try all their rolls and each one was more disappointing than the next. We paid about $85 for what felt like gas station quality sushi. We also had two garden salads that were inedible, the dressing was awful, and the lettuce was wilted. The only good thing was the miso soup and it came in a tiny tiny little cup.
I had this place for hibachi and it was better but still not great. Overall…I would not recommend.

This place is my favorite to go to! They have a wide selection of rolls and their prices are pretty fair for what you're getting. I think for the atmosphere, good food, and pricing, this place should be more busy in my opinion! Brooke is also very sweet and gave us great service.

I stopped in for lunch and the service was great but the food was bland and the portions of steak in my hibachi steak meal was probably equivalent to less than a quarter of a steak and that tasted like it had been.. boiled? Idk. Overall for $65 bucks I’m not happy.. Wasn’t the worst food I’ve had but it was far from the best. Sushi was “fresh” but came looking dull.. and tasting not as fresh. Won’t be back.

This is one of the best spots for Sushi if you live in the fountain/south colorado springs area and don't want to go out of your way. Every time I've gone in I'm greeted by the staff and service is promptly given. They have a large menu for sushi rolls and there are many options for pretty much any palette. As far as price, compared to most sushi places in the springs this place is affordable as well. They do a nice job with presentation of the dish when you dine in. I like the bento boxes as far as value, but I also find myself ordering a few sushi rolls every time too. Very helpful staff when it comes to info about the dishes. Overall great local spot, I work nearby and enjoy stopping in here as a treat when I can.

I give a 1 star if I could no stars for the food because it was terrible. I got the habachi chicken and it tasted raw. No flavor whats so ever and most of my chicken pieces has bone. Rice was okay. Noodles were cold and stale. The vegetables tasted like the smell of sewer water. Overall food was honestly so bad. I took one bite of each and threw it out.
The service was great, the people working there were great.

I ordered to go as soon as they opened, had a 30 minute wait time for 3 normal rolls. Pickup was smooth. I was, however, disappointed I'm the actual size of the rolls. For almost $40 for 3 rolls, they were very small, not in length, but width. And the comments I had read earlier about the quality of the rice were correct. It's definitely not sticky rice, because the rolls were crumbling as soon as I picked them up. It hit the spot, but 30 pieces of sushi should fill up a to-go container, possibly 2, not half of one.

Our food came out cold. When we asked the server to have it remade she brought it to the kitchen and you could hear her pop it in the microwave. When she brought food back out I asked her if she just placed that in the microwave and she said yes that’s what the kitchen told me to do.

We've been multiple times, including today, and the food has never once disappointed, between me and my family we all love it. Today was incredibly understaffed and we could tell the staff that was there were trying their best, and were really nice the whole time despite how stressful things looked. Despite the long wait, food still came out incredible, and we'll be happy to go back again.

Let me start by saying the sushi was great. The food absolutely not. Fried rice didn’t appear fried at all. No seasoning no flavor. They put some oil on it, tossed it a few times and served it. The hibachi was basic. Served with plain stiff white rice. Again no seasoning just cooked up in sauce. The server was kind and attentive. She greeted everyone hello and said goodbye. Drinks were refilled in a timely manner. The meal was very overpriced for something so basic. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately was let down. I’ll return for the sushi but definitely will pass on the entrees

Foods not cooked in front of you which I should have checked but I assumed that like majority of hibachi restaurants that meant you can watch it being cooked. Food came out like warm at best and at all different times. Two meals came out 10 minutes before the last two meals came out. We also placed our sushi order with the drink order and somehow it came out after the table was finished with their main meal. Along with that the sushi was falling apart. Quality of food was not worth the price. I also understand that we came In on a busy night but our waitress hardly came by our table. We asked for kids waters twice before finally asking another waitress to get them. Our drinks were never refilled at any point despite our waitress walking by the table multiple times. We just won’t be back and don’t recommend

It wasn't busy when we arrived and we were able to be seated immediately. The menu is extensive. I have never seen such a complex menu. If you want to eat here and you have two people bring $100 bill and prepare for more. The roll are half the size of anyone else in the spring, and a lot of their specialty rolls are just a plain California roll of something thrown on top of it. It’s a huge disappointment means that near my home and I’d love to have a good sushi place relatively close.

The food may be tasty enough, but more appalling is that they take 40% of the tip you give your waitress for THEIR service and it goes to the Sous chef and the owner ... who both make much more than they pay their waitresses to begin with.
FYI: I do not, never have, never will work here ... just know people who have. Thought customers should be informed.

I was clueless that this place was there, and I live in Fountain! The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night; as there was a large family celebrating a birthday. Bryanna, our server, was friendly and helpful. We were told there was a minimum 30-minute wait for sushi. The food seemed to take forever to arrive, but it was fresh and tasty. Portion was decent, and the presentation was close to perfect. I ordered Hibachi Chicken. It was served with grilled vegetables and fried rice. I was expecting chicken breast, but it was a thigh portion. As for the atmosphere, they've done what they can with the little space they have, and it's nice. It was a little on the warmer side, with all the people. Employees did a good job clearing the tables as patrons left. Seating could be an issue, as it is a fairly small venue. I am grateful to have a Japanese restaurant in town.

Such a hidden gem! One of the better sushi places I have eaten at in the springs. Always quiet inside, servers are always friendly. The sashimi is always fresh. Prices are a little higher than some other spots around town, but I believe you do get what you pay for. Plus it’s a small business. The rolls are a good size and the hibachi is delicious. We come back almost every week!

Really wanted to like this place but both times (lunch and dinner) that me and my wife decided to eat here we were never greeted a “welcome” walking in the doors but everyone that came after us who were “white” and not “brown” were immediately greeted. As a minority, we didn’t feel very welcomed at all dining here on both occasions. The chefs at the sushi bar are also not very welcoming or friendly as they don’t greet customers.
As far as the food, for what you pay (way over price) the portions they give you is ridiculously small. They are VERY stingy with their portions. On one of the two times we ate here I ordered a shrimp yakisoba for dinner and I thought it was a kids meal. They don’t give you anything extra like complimentary miso soup, house salad or tea like most Japanese restaurants. Especially for dinner! Don’t even get me started on the vegetable tempura appetizer on how STINGY the portion for that was.
The food and service is definitely not worth it. Overall the food was average tasting at best especially for the expensive price they charge. Good luck ordering sushi! Way over priced for the portion you get.
Please save your money and go elsewhere if you want “real Japanese food”. You’re better off going to Safeway for sushi where the quality is better and you will spend way less. Highly don’t recommend this place.

Arashi is a cozy Japanese cuisine restaurant. Five of our party of six tried foods new to us. There were mixed reactions. What someone enjoyed, perhaps, another wasn't a fan. Different bites for different likes. Everything was well prepared. The presentation was quite appealing.

Sushi was good. But the hibachi was WAY OVER PRICED. I barely got food. Especially any chicken and shrimp & they didn’t even give me sauce even though they asked me when I called in what kind I wanted. Just not super impressed in the quantity I got for the amount I paid.

This was my first time I did a to go order cost for food before tip 95.00 I have never been so disappointed I got the shrimp and scallops(scallops where not cooked I had to microwave them after the first bite) there food was bland no seasoning at all my husband salmon teriyaki on the other hand was still bland zero seasoning but so over cooked it was chewy..... The calamari was not bad actually the only thing that was editable... Servings are very small with no seasoning I will not be back this was a complete waste of $111 after tip for take out. I did not purchase sushi so they maybe good for that but decently not for hibachi

Ordered takeout 5 times. First was delicious when it first opened. (I always order the seaweed salad. Sushi. Seafood tempura… etc..)
Delicious first time. Second time good. Third… fourth and fifth time completely flat. The food isn’t good anymore and way overpriced. Nice atmosphere but we don’t eat in bc we have a 6 person family with young kids. I’d rather drive to Ai Sushi for the money spent & consistently delicious Japanese food.

Good lunch deals, got the 3 roll sushi. All were good. Ambiance was nice, staff was welcoming and attentive. Only drawback is the fumes from the nail salon next door permeate the place, and that's the only reason I won't be back for dine in. Had a headache from the smell after just a quick lunch. Fantastic food in Fountain! I took my son and his friend for lunch and we sampled a variety of dishes. The miso soup was perfectly salty and briny, yum! We also enjoyed appetizers of gyoza and soft-shell crab which were both delectable. The boys enjoyed a round of California rolls which were adorably rolled in-house during our service. The lunch portions of pork and chicken katsu, as well as the udon noodles all hit the spot in the best way possible. Couple an amazing meal with pleasant, quick, and responsive service leaves me saying-

My family got takeout and the portion is way too small compared to the price you're paying. We got 2 orders of the chicken and shrimp hibachi but either they didn't cook the food on a hibachi grill or they cooked it just enough for it to be done. The redeeming factor was that the person on the phone was nice. They said soy sauce/extra sauce was in the bag but it was only one container. Food was bland, portion small and not at all what you would expect for 2 hibachi takeout orders for $60. Dining in may be better so try that instead and skip the takeout.

To completely honest I threw my food in the trash . I ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki, for starters I had 3 shrimp in my meal the chicken was boiled chicken thighs not cooked on a grill oh lol I forgot to mention the food had no seasoning . #flavorless This food was a complete slap in the face to the Asian culture you have to do better and also get the nail salon smell out of your restaurant

7 months later, service has not improved and food has gotten worst. Only went here cause its the closest sushi place to me and every time so far, they've gotten our orders wrong, left out some items, or we've gotten sick.
They once gave us Mongolian beef and insisted that it was chicken teriyaki until the table beside us said that they ordered it and after we showed them a photo of the difference between beef and chicken.
Food came out cold often.
Second time within a couple of months that we've gotten sick from the sushi and appetizers from here within an hour of eating.
Have been overcharged and gotten the wrong items on our receipts a few times as well.
I've brought these issues up to the restaurant but have had radio silence from them and nothing has changed since their opening. We live so close by and would have loved to have them as our usual go to spot for sushi and Asian food but be careful coming here cause on 2 separate occasions with multiple people, we've all gotten food poisoning from here.
------
Got Togo and they said it would take about 15 minutes to get my order of 2 rolls and an appetizer.
Waited over an hour and half and my appetizer was cold by the time I had gotten it🥴 will update the review again if service improves.

Great food, great service. We had hibachi, and felt the menu description sold the meal a little short. We had the combination plate of steak and chicken, which the menu said came with noodles and fried rice. It also came with a surprise salad, miso soup, veggies, and sauce. The meat was tender and delicious, the sauce was flavorful, and the noodles were fantastic. Definitely recommend and would absolutely return!

The food was great and the service was alright.
It wasn't very busy, but it did seem like the staff was overwhelmed - there were a few people picking up orders so that could be the reason.
They forgot about us several times and asked us for our drink order twice. When I finally got my drink, it wasn't correct. I ordered sweet tea but received water. It wasn't really a big deal and we didn't correct it because it seemed like they were already distracted. That being said, the waitress was very friendly and courteous (I didn't catch her name but she was a young girl). The atmosphere was nice - it wasn't too loud even though there were a few other small groups of people there. I would give this place another try for sure.

Man, what happened? This place was amazing but has gone down hill hard. The last three times I've order from here the tempura rolls have been way over fried to the point of the fish being ruinedand the tempura batter being burnt. On top of that rolls are getting smaller and falling apart. The BMW roll still tasted good but was about half the size it used to be and the same went for the spicy red dragon roll.

This my second and hopefully but it’s still garbage!! Paid way too much for this food to receive small portions and I was missing rice with my order! And the yum yum sauce shouldn’t be spicy and you only get a little bit.

I placed a pickup order and when arriving you can tell they had a lot of customers come through. They were short staff and still provided great service. When I got home my food was delicious!

First review I was not impressed had several reservations due to cost and quality of the food. But was convinced to give them a second try and I have to say it was much better than before. Although the smell of acrylic is still in the air the sushi and sashimi was honestly much better that before. All in all maybe it was an off night. In any case it's not the best but it does the job for that sushi fix if you can't get farther north into town.

I can confidently say that after trying pretty much all the sushi restaurants this city has to offer, it's definitely one of the best overall: the quality and price was outstanding. The rolls were amazing and were served promptly. Definitely bringing my family back for dining out!

The sushi was really good, I’ve been to restaurants with poor service but this tops it. We didn’t get checked on once. We didn’t get any of the entree we ordered. Only 4 rolls of sushi and our appetizer

The food was amazing! A little pricey but considering this is the only sushi place in Fountain, it’ll do!
The service was good but the server came over every 5 minutes. I counted no less than 6 times I was checked on and it was frustrating considering I was trying to read a book. While some might appreciate that, it was a bit much.
Also there was an extremely strong odor of chemicals. Like multiple cleaners mixed and not in a good way. It was definitely not a food related smell and started giving me a headache 20 minutes into my visit.
If not for those items, this would be a 5 star review.
I’m absolutely willing to give it another shot though when I need my next sushi fix. Hoping to a better experience next time!

Love going to this place but today did not the day i guess. I did take out when i picked up i was missing a roll they told me it will take 5 min. The waitress was rushing them and was kind and gave me a miso soup and tried to get me taking care of but the cooks did not really care decided it was more important to have me waiting more than 30 min for 1 role while they push out new orders. Can be a 3 star if they show there cooks what customer service means.

This restaurant is fairly new so I'd like to be fair in my review of this establishment. Living in fountain, I was very excited to have a sushi restaurant so close to home and now I finally have one. I've only picked up take out orders so I can not speak on the dinning experience. The sushi is top notch for the most part. I've had a few issues that are concerning. Burnt tempura rolls, a surprisingly small order of calamari and missing items such as miso soup. All that taken in consideration, I truly enjoy this new addition to the fountain area. They have a clean restaurant, friendly staff and the cutlery package that comes with a pick order is pretty cool. I'll definitely continue to support this business.

Newly opened....so, for now, it's clean.
Considering the $$$ the following fall short:
1. The atmosphere is NOT what you'd expect at a Japanese
Hibachi Grill.
2. The service/wait staff is VERY casual. (Comparable to a fast
food hamburger joint).
3. No grill seating.
4. While the Sushi menu is adequate, the rest of the menu is
wanting. They don't offer any hot beverages. The only
tea offered is a bulk green tea served cold.
5. The food itself, at best, is edible/mediocre. Certainly not
deserving of the menu value assigned.
I doubt I will ever go back.

I was on hold forever and they never came back to the phone, when I hung up and called back the lady who answered the phone said "I'm sorry we are to busy to take to go orders." Why couldn't they just say that before they had me on hold forever. I ate here when it first open and thought the service would be better. I had to give a star to post but really it's no stars!

Prices are average, BUT... of the 5 rolls we could not finish, all fresh, new names, news ingredients, and thick! They have a great niche here, and I'm hopeful they will endure, def coming back!!!

I had the chicken yakisoba and it tasted like something out of a box. I will give it to them that service was great and the food was hot when we received it but it just wasn't something I would order again. My husband was very happy with his dragon roll though.

If you're looking for quality Japanese food, then this is the place to dine! Speedy service and outstanding workers, Arashi is truly one of the greatest dining experiences of my entire life! Will definitely be dining again, and do yourself a favor and give Arashi a try!

I love sushi. The food here is amazing and the service was impeccable. Thank you for a good date night spot.

Starting off the server was very friendly, and kept up on refills throughout the meal. We started off with Calamari, which was nicely presented but pretty bland and slightly over cooked. We ordered the Arashi roll which was pretty good. My son ordered the beef yakisoba. Which was excellent. My other son ordered the steak hibachi dinner, the steak was nicely cooked. I had the shrimp and scallops hibachi, both the scallops and shrimp were pretty bland and definitely over cooked. My wife had the chicken hibachi. Which was over cooked as well. The noodles and the rice on all 3 plates were pretty mediocre. The noodles specifically were very bland and were only decent when combined with the sauce which I assume was oyster sauce. We had mochi and fried ice cream which were both very basic. Our dinner after tip was right at $200 which I would expect a better experience for that price. I would return for the yakisoba. But unless the hibachi improves I would definitely not have that again.

Amazing food and service! Its never busy during lunch on the weekdays.

Ok food. Masked servers expressionless eyes and lassez faire attitude. Waste of $34 plus tip for a mediocre overpriced meal and uninvolved servers. Won't return.

We love eating here. Football on the TV on Sunday night.

The sushi and beer are really good. BUT this isn't a real hibachi place. We tried 3 different things from the menu besides the sushi and it was literally all flavorless, cold, and dry.
We ended up spending $130 on food that mostly got thrown away.
I'm actually really upset writing this because I was so freaking excited about this place opening. I felt super upset after eating there especially since my kids wouldn't even touch the food.

Pretty good sushi spot. The food was really good, but there were a few hiccups with the service/kitchen. Nothing bad though, other than working the kinks out from being a new restaurant I think. I'll definitely be visiting it again. There were plenty of sushi and hibachi options with several Japanese and domestic beers, sake, and wines to choose from.

Food was ok. Service was not. First waitress passed us over to others. Coordination was poor, attendance took too long, had to ask for napkins at a restaurant where we pay over $15 a plate (mine cost over $30). Steak was ok, not worth $30. Calamari was too small, sushi was also ok. Idk, not sure I would go again. Let's see what time tells, it is a new business but off to a rocky start.

This is the best sushi/hibachi in town hands down. Beautiful interior, everything is nice, clean, hygienic, and well taken care of. Staff is friendly, bathrooms are very clean. Some of the best sushi and hibachi I have ever had.

Sushi was really good, server seemed annoyed for some reason....might have been the mask she was wearing so we couldn't see her facial reactions. Just for clarification for those that are confusing the hibachi experience vs food cooked on a hibachi grill. There is no experience here, the food is cooked on a hibachi style grill in the back not at your table.

Went to try the new restaurant, but couldn't stay long enough to order my food due to the overwhelming smell from the nail salon next door. Giving 3 stars because the people were polite and understanding and the food looked good.

Tried different types of sushi, all tasted great and fresh. A little too pricey even for lunch specials, the waitress was very grumpy for some reason
