Atmosphere - Love the vibe! It feels like an upscale club at night. It also feels cozy with the dim lighting! I've chosen this place to celebrate my birthday the last 2 years & I love how they bring out a sparkler for the table :) It's a fun spot to go with a group of friends or on a date!
Food - We ordered a bunch of sushi for the table and I had sashimi as well. All was good! I loved the sea bass too! Highly recommend that dish. The king crab legs & mussels are pictured below & were tasty too!
I would recommend this place for a fun night out with friends or date night!

We were given this recommendation from a friend who lives in Denver. The food was INCREDIBLE, the drinks were delightful, the food came out quickly, despite them being busy on NYE. The music was loud, the laughter along with the people having a great time, made the perfect downtown Denver experience. The ambience is beautiful, the lighting and decor really set the vibe. We would definitely go back on our next visit.

Parking is found around all the streets. Very nice location and splendid interior. Had a reservation, that sat me immediately. Server was nice and helpful. It was busy, I didn’t mind at all. Great place for a dinner date. The sushi tasted great and fresh. Spicy edamame was good as well.

Ordered nigiri, 3 rolls, shishito peppers, edamame, two lemonades and somehow the bill was $250.00… quality is meh. late night service not on point. felt like i gave a high tip because of the dollar amount spent. wouldn’t recommend, there are other options that are better for this price range (temaki den, or even uchi for a little more) i had a private chef showing at sushi den for less than this. consider elsewhere for the lack of service and quality. i understand you’re in the heart of denver but not worth the price

One of the best Happy Hours in town! Plenty of options for all under $10!
I got two rolls (Philadelphia & Spicy Tuna), Kobe Beef Buns, Hamachi Jalapeno Sashimi, & a small hot sake for all for under $40!
Jose was a fantastic server and I'll definitely be returning to try more on the Happy Hour menu!

Probably the best sushi I've ever had! Somehow they have combined traditional Japanese style with a bit of a rave atmosphere, creating a unique and fun setting! The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. But most importantly, the food was outstanding! Fresh, high quality ingredients put together with skill and creativity. Loved everything about this place!

Food was great and service is great! We had edamame, Hamachi nigiri, pork belly bao buns, short ribs, and from the specials dinner menu, the Bass. Everything was SO good. We also had a sushi roll but I can't remember the name. There was a DJ playing upbeat music and our server Omar provided for a wonderful paced meal.

What a terrific lunch! It was a pleasure to pop in and sample a few hot apps. The octopus cakes with bonito flakes was wildly good! The chicken and pork gyoza are so crispy and rich. Loved the fried Brussels sprouts with candied pecans. Our server was real friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to return for happier hour!

From the menu, prices, and photos it looks like you’re getting an upscale Japanese restaurant. I was disappointed. Loud rap music, sports bar TV and packed with ghetto clientele that skipped people with reservations at the hostess line and just took whatever table they wanted. The food was good but nothing special. Bare minimum service.

Ordered takeout. Became jealous we didn't eat in the restaurant.
You can't go wrong with Mizu's Nigiri, fresh meat and the rice is delightfully seasoned. Each type of Nigiri has a unique topping or finish, a nice touch. The Umi Masu was quality, buttery on my pallet. The Eel was also quite nice.
Wasn't a fan of the pickled ginger, thought it had a potpourri/perfumed aftertaste.

This restaurant has consistently had low class service across the board from hostess to bar tender. I live in the building above Mizu so I have been here more than once trying to give it a chance but yet the keep giving poor service whether I dine in or take out. Staff not attending the table or staff acting as if I am invisible. I know this is not just a thing happening to only me so that’s how I know having poor service is just how this place operates.

Mizu Izakaya is a delight. It has taken a number of visits to work through the expansive menu, but every single dish has been top quality and delicious. The new style sashimi, especially the dry miso, is amazing. The honey miso eggplant is a favorite every single time. The spam fried rice is delicious. And the green tea tiramisu was a perfect end to the meal.
The sake selection is vast and sophisticated.
Even more than the food, which is beautiful and delicious, the service is amazing and timed at a casual pace, never rushed, but never lagging. The environment is cool, sort of Colorado rustic meets Japanese contemporary.
This is a favorite place for special outings and post-theatre dinner.

I don’t generally right bad reviews but my recent visit to Mizu in the Denver International Airport, on the morning of Saturday, October 26, 2024, was a huge letdown. I ordered a breakfast platter, expecting the same quality I’ve enjoyed in the past, but this time was a completely different story.
First, my eggs came out scrabbled when I’d requested them over easy. The bacon was barely warm, and the potatoes were still cold in the center. The food quality was surprising, especially since I was the only one in line, yet I waited over 20 minutes. This kind of wait might be understandable if the food came out hot and well-prepared, but that was far from the case.
To make matters worse, I ended up experiencing stomach cramps during my flight later that day. I can't be certain whether it was food poisoning or not, but it certainly left me with concerns.
When I asked who had prepared my food, since I was shocked at how it turned out, I was told someone named Tovee or Povee made it. Whatever the reason for this drastic decline in quality, I hope it’s addressed soon, as this was far from the experience I’d come to expect here.
Very disappointed.

Good place, but I wish they wouldn't put a fresh sashimi in the same delivery bag as hot cooked items - fish quickly becomes boiled, texture degrades, this isn't good for expensive sashimi orders. Price/quality this place is below the Denver's average.

Delicious! Large portions, I encourage sharing. The wait staff was lovely and very helpful with splitting the check. Def recommend the furikake fries and crispy gyoza. They also have a great matcha tea brewed with toasted rice, it has a much nuttier flavor that even people who dislike green tea might enjoy.

Just ate at their B terminal location at DIA where the hostess was too busy flirting to get us a table, so we grabbed food and sat at a table where a very rude waitress told us that we had to move since we were to go order food. I explained we didn't want to go food we wanted to relax and order more food but were being ignored by the hostess so she could flirt.

I've been coming here for years. This place is just the best - really! Our servers generally remember me and my friends because we come at least once a month. I'm originally from a coastal state, so I'm a bit picky when it comes to seafood. Their sushi is incredible! My go to meal here is ramen and a roll, topped off with one of their seasonal sauv blancs or a seasonal cocktail. The vibe can go from super fun on the weekend nights to beautiful, open, and calm during the day. No matter how busy they are, we rarely end up waiting for a table for more than 10 minutes. I'll always recommend Mizu's to anybody looking for good sushi and ramen! Have fun exploring their other menu items as well - they're all fantastic (especially the short ribs).

Tried to order for delivery, turns out they only deliver to the apartments above the restaurant. A notice on the website would be helpful. Went to pick up and order was not ready on time - normally, no biggie, it was busy. What I didn't love was that they asked my name twice and then I waited an extra 15 minutes. Turns out my order was sitting behind the counter for a good 10 of those minutes.
That aside, because I understand service industry is a challenge and underpaid and all of that - but my vegetarian sushi was place right next to my friend's fish option and that's just some oversight. Food not that great. Very expensive.
Dang.

Very sad because I really like this place for awhile.

Was really looking forward to a date here with my partner since the ramen is some of the best in Denver! Unfortunately, when we arrived they had a DJ playing at 2:00pm on a Sunday and we could not hear each other, our waiter, or anyone else inside. We left before ordering and our waiter just shrugged like “yeah, I know” when we told him why. Basically, call ahead to avoid Club Ramen - otherwise this place is great.

My boyfriend and I planned a lunch time date here for a quiet celebratory meal together. We were both really looking forward to it. When we get there, they have a DJ blasting music so loud you can’t hear the person talking right next to you. We decided to leave before eating there because of the noise. Very disappointing as the food here is fantastic. Would have loved some warning on their website about this event. Hopefully the next time we go the music will be a better volume.

As a frequent traveler, this is the best service I have ever received at an airport restaurant. This is the cutest place with delicious food, and both our waitress as well as the gal making sushi behind the counter were genuinely so friendly and attentive, delivering A+ service, fresh and delicious food, and meaningful conversation with guests. You can tell this place is well run and the staff enjoys working here. Thank you to the staff for a memorable experience—we will be back next time we’re in Denver!

Fantastic happy hour! You get some awesome items for $5 each, including Sake bombs, and a California roll. The Chicken Karaage at $7 is also a great deal as they offer a generous portion. The Karaage was dry and overcooked however, so perhaps this was an off day. Nobody likes dry chicken.

The place turns into Night Club on Thursday - Sunday. We were there at 1:30p on a Sunday and it was crazy loud. We moved to the inside to try to get a quieter place. We went as a big group. The food was good but long wait and our server was disrespectful and rushing us. It was our first and only time coming here. We understand that people can have bad days but it was not a pleasant experience, especially for the price that we are paying and the automatic 25% gratuity added.

Big group of us went out for a birthday dinner. We made reservations and ended up at a kinda fun large table in the bar area. The issue was it was so large, that conversing was an issue. Even if we were at a smaller, more intimate table the music was SO loud, we could not really have a conversation. We asked the waiter to see if it could be turned down and she was told no by the owner. The food was pretty good but nothing any more spectacular than the other sushi places in Denver. So if you are into techno nightclub music from the early 2000’s playing REALLY loudly, this might be the place for you. If you want to have sushi while at a rave, Mizu is the place for you 😬

The food was good overall but uneven - the skewers were excellent but the fried rice was very bland. Cocktails were very good.
Unfortunately, the music was way too loud, to the point that it was impossible to hear one another speak. Felt more appropriate for a club than a restaurant.

We’ve been coming here for a long time and always had such a good experience with whoever our servers were. We especially loved having Brandon as our server but sadly found out he left. Came back after a while because we missed the uni carbonara. Our server was a tall lady with a bun, kinda emotionless. She didn’t ask how our food was once. Finished our bowl of uni carbonara and filled out the sheet for two orders of salmon and added a miso soup and the hand roll. She took a long time to even ask us if we wanted anything else. We said thank you to her for dropping off the food then thank you again after signing the machine to leave. Nothing. She didn’t say anything back didn’t really care. We always tip 20% or more no matter where we go because we are servers too. But not this time, this was really disappointing. Love the food and will always recommend people to come here but would probably warn them about this lady.

Ok, so this was not a good experience. Don’t let the cool mist on my plate entice you to come in on their dinner rush. But if you do decide to, beware. Service was non existent. She gave us water, took the sushi menu and came for the check. I get it. The place was slammed. It wasn’t all her fault.
Hey management- Where’s the logic in having 1 waitress work the dinner rush on the outside section?? We had no plate, chop sticks, soy sauce. Had to ask for a fork for the salad. My sashimi was mediocre at best. The other person I was with ordered the 16pc chefs choice sashimi. She only got 14 pieces. It’s $64….
I gave a 10% tip for 10% service and missing fish. We won’t be back.

We made a reservation for 6:30 and arrived early. They fit us in which was very nice on a Friday! Apps were decent. Service was good at first, with a steep drop off. Sushi rolls were mid, I noticed inconsistency in cuts of fish and sloppy cuts. Our Waygu short ribs never arrived but we were full enough. Our server didn’t show but another staff member was notified and we were ready for our check. She apologized, and after 10 mins she brought a complimentary cheesecake which was appreciated. Our server came around after we were done, spoons on the plate, with another sparkler and cheesecake! Kinda made it clear the weren’t communicating. Overall, I probably wouldn’t come back and we left a bit disappointed.

I’ll be brutally honest: this place almost ruined my night. I’m from NYC so I’m no stranger to expensive food. But this was objectively unworthy of the price tag. Service was perfectly fine, so this review is regarding solely food.
I had a few decent pieces of sashimi, but what killed me was an 8oz ny strip, overcooked, under-seasoned, with just a strip of king mushroom accoutrement for $40. In no universe is this a fair value. I suppose it’s expensive because it’s served on a hot stone? With a performative little fire (which overcooked the steak, from medium to medium well) that some people might want to Instagram? And if you’re going to be so presumptuous that you don’t provide salt at the table, the least you can do is properly season your food!
I was so disappointed that I was in a sad, sulky mood for the next 3 hours. It’s the type of sadness one feels when they got ripped off and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s been months since I’ve been disappointed like this by a restaurant. I’m just so sad! So unimpressed it hurts.

I only got their ramen for takeout so can’t speak on the service or other food items. I highly recommend the roast duck ramen! It’s so good! The meat was cooked in a way that didn’t feel flaky or had that “ducky” flavor. It was not a huge portion but left me full and satisfied. The broth was on the moderate side without it being too oily or overwhelming.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! idk if the lady we encountered was the owner, hostess or a server but she is RACIST!!! had a group of black men she did not want to seat or serve. Came from winter park resort and got stuck on the train due to an accident. We were hungry and tired. Upon entering and asking for a table for 7 she told to “just go to McDonald’s”. Then Instead of seating us on the main floor at a table big enough to accommodate she seats us at a smaller table and says “we have to be able to afford enough food to sit at a bigger table”. A member of our group needed to use the bathroom and found the toilet to be blocked and asked her to address and told
Him to “just go outside”. That’s when we decided to get up and walk out.

It’s a beautiful restaurant, but I was seriously disappointed by their omakase. Maybe I am biased but I am used to being served separately plated, uniquely prepared sashimi/nigiri when ordering omakase. But at this restaurant, you just get an assortment of plain sashimi all on the same bed of cellophane noodles/rice with a lemon wedge and light sprinkle of sesame seed. It was also at room temperature and lacked overall flavor :( Service was fine and they have a good selection of sake.

When you order salmon, is it supposed to be bones, scales, and skin? I would have expected at least a few bites of salmon. Seems like this is all something that should have gone in the trash but actually ended up on a plate and served to a customer. I vote with my feet.

For the price, I would expect better service and attention to detail. QR code menus? Round-back chairs that you can't put your coat on, but no alternative coat storage? The booth seats much higher than the chairs so you're peering down at your dinner partner?
The food and drink aspires to be great, but the experience doesn't support the asking price right now.

Many of us had food allergies and when we asked our server to make sure to attend to this, she didn’t, and we ended up with food that was cross-contaminated and plated with allergens. I want to start off by saying that the service here was wonderful. Our server was attentive and both food and drinks were served very quickly! However, that’s the only positive I can give Mizu. We started with the seafood dynamite(?) appetizer. It was a mix of octopus and mushrooms, I believe. We were served this as hot dip covered in separating, warm spicy mayo atop what I can only describe as a pool of oily seafood sludge. It was incredibly salty and the texture was unappetizing. Next, we ordered the spider roll and the negi toro roll. The spider was average, but the negi toro was strangely soggy and had a strong fishy flavor to it. Last, we had ordered the nigiri omakase. The nigiri were served all at once, and a server placed the dish on the table without telling us what each bite of fish was. Even the cheapest of strip mall sushi restaurants will take a moment to tell you what each fish is. The sushi rice was tough, and the fish wasn’t anything special. I honestly expected more from a place at this price point. I would have been understanding if this came from a mall sushi restaurant, but the fact that they’re charging $58 for a plate of below average nigiri was upsetting. I cannot recommend this place and surely will never be back.

The best sushi in LOHI!

My girlfriend and I stopped in to try some of their ramen. While it's clear they are primarily a sushi restaurant and bar with a decent collection of booze available, they didn't hesitate in the slightest when we diverted from their norm. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen, and my girlfriend had the Miso Ramen. We also had Edemame, Pork Belly Buns and Duck Buns. I was particularly excited about the Pork Belly Buns, and I definitely enjoyed them, however the Duck Buns took it a step above and I genuinely was not expecting the Pork Belly Buns to come in second. Not that the Pork Belly Buns weren't good, too!
Overall, the food was fantastic and the service was friendly, quick and attentive. Next time I'm here, I'll definitely try their sushi.

This was not it. I don’t know if the expectations were just high, but we were extremely underwhelmed. Service was eh, food was eh, drinks were eh. A disappointing experience for $200.

I think the decision to have an insanely loud DJ really ruined the atmosphere, we were looking for a nice formal and quiet dinner. Food was great and service was too

Food was great, quality fish and it came out fast.

The absolute worst dining experience I’ve had in my life. Music was so loud that you had to whisper in the ear of anyone to hear them talk. Fish quality is embarrassing and disgusting, and service was despicable. Our girl made it clear from the beginning she knew there was a “large party” automatic tip, and she showed it… she knew she didn’t have to be good, or even nice, to get it. Worst experience I’ve had in Denver, period.

I didn’t eat here, but my DoorDash driver got mixed up and somehow tried to deliver my food from another restaurant to Mizu Izakaya. The driver did not speak English, and someone from Mizu was kind enough to call me and help coordinate instructions in Spanish. I thought this was incredibly kind (both to the driver and to me) and it spoke volumes about the kind of people who work here that they took time out of a busy Friday night to help with an order that wasn’t even from their restaurant. I’ll definitely try to make my way over here sometime soon! Thank you Mizu team!

The food was bland and very overpriced. I've had better sushi at some grocery stores. The rolls and nigiri had very little flavor. The service was bad too. I've never had sushi brought and left on the table with no indication or communication from the wait staff as to what each piece was. Multiple orders and no communication. Drinks weren't refilled. Our server ignored us and several other tables. They were average busy, nothing crazy. Yes I had a reservation and yes I've eaten sushi all over the planet so I'm not unfamiliar with any of the fish or how it is normally done. The place felt like it was designed for Instagram than for food. Very pretty, no substance. Avoid.

Food was excellent! Lemonade was awful. And unfortunately we were forgotten about so there was no time to remake it. The atmosphere was okay. Where we were forgot about, had to flag someone down about the check. Would definitely try again!

The host Johnny is so nice! Food is really good, service is good, and the vibe is fun. Definitely louder music so if you are looking for a quieter vibe this is not it. Had the best time! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Cool atmosphere. Good presentation on the food. Ok service. Apps, cocktails/sake, steak items, and desserts were pretty solid. I would not recommend going here for sushi, though. Everyone at our table commented on how “fishy” it tasted which was a big turn off. It’s the first time I’ve ever had sushi with a group where every piece on the table did not get eaten. The sushi was prepared/presented well and flavor composition was there, but the fish quality was not what you’d expect for the price. If sushi is your target cuisine I’d choose a different spot.

Super tasty food and fun atmosphere, albeit about half way through our dinner it seemed like they cranked the music up like double, and it was already loud to begin with. We were basically almost yelling at each other and still struggled to hear our convo. Our dinner seating was around 6ish or so so it’s not like it was party time yet.

Came here with my beautiful husband on a Sunday night. The Sushi was amazing. We had the Tokyo roll, hotate roll, Negi toro and chicken Karagke… all were at the recommendation of our incredibly warm and kind server, Jet. The tiramisu was to die for. Will come back again and again. Thanks to Jet for making the night magical for us.

Mid afternoon lunch - Ambiance was very pretty. Service was good. Food was mediocre at best. Tonkotsu Ramen was fresh but lacked any depth of flavor. We also had the Hotate Roll, which I was not a fan of. The shrimp tempura inside the roll was so hard! The “seared” scallop on top was hardly seared at all and was bland and slightly slimy. Sushi pieces were inconsistent as some were very think in size and others were tiny.
Only redeeming quality was the chicken fried rice which was yummy! But I can’t give them too much credit for that because I’ve had good fried rice at plenty of places.
$77 - I’ve spent less and have been much more satisfied.

Great spot to check out if you like sampling a lot of different plates and dishes coupled with good drinks. For the quality and price it’s a good spot for dinner anytime. It can get pretty loud inside, so maybe try the patio if possible, especially since DJ’s may play on weekends later in the night making dinner talk a little hard. Overall love coming here!

So reliable and can always guarantee wonderful sushi and service. Best sushi in Denver by far, incredible cocktails.

Loved the sushi. The place is in great area, surrounded by some of our favorite casual and tasty spots.
The waitress was a delight, the sushi was very, very, very tasty, the cocktails were on a weaker side but still ok. The birthday shot, though- absolutely delicious!
We tried three different specialty rolls: rainbow, lohi, and Tokyo. We enjoyed them all but ended up ordering a second round of the Tokyo. It was so good.
The gluten free options were clearly marked on the menu.
Will come back again for sure!
