Colorado Sake Co.

Colorado Sake Co is truly a gem somewhat hidden and unknown in Denver. Although it may be unassuming from the outside, once inside, it is clear that a lot of thought was put into the layout and decorations. There is the room that is seen once entering the restaurant but there is also a back room. I'm not sure if the back room is used for private events only or also for extra seating but it looked cool and moody back in there.

The food is decently priced for small dishes and tastes pretty great. However, if you have quite a large stomach like I do, it may be a good idea to either head there with a snack prior or expect to eat something else afterwards or you'll likely end up with a hefty bill.

Now for the sake! They have a wide range of different kinds of sake from sweet to dry to different kind of infusions that are harder to find elsewhere. We tried all three and I enjoyed them all. They definitely know what they are doing regarding their sake.

I highly recommend heading to Colorado Sake Co for a small plate or two and to enjoy sake with good company!

Oh how I wish I knew about Drag Beetlejuice before we showed up and tickets were already sold out!

That said, we had a great experience sampling a large array of the menu (forgive my pictures, my lighting wasn't great and I'd been drinking that great sake). The wait staff was highly attentive, made great recommendations, and made sure our sake was never empty.

Definitely do a sake flight, but the unfiltered original is my fave!

Incredible place with staff who care and treated us like friends! Especially shouting out to Tori, her recs completely on point, tropical roll special and the green machine sake, both delicious and refreshing! TOP tier food, a welcome surprise, everything very fresh and texture/flavor-wise 😚👌 every single thing seemed thoroughly thought-over and perfected... We'll be back!!!

This place is so good for dim sum brunch!! We got a sake flight and about 10 different items that were all phenomenal. The Wasabi mint sauce was killer on the sushi and we were seriously contemplating drinking it straight from the bottle. Tori was delightful. She was super attentive and sweet. Definitely going back!

My friends and I had such a great time! Tori hosted us, and we were lucky to have them as our server. I also enjoyed the vibe: good music and everyone who worked there and came in for a table was kind. I don’t write many reviews, but I’m glad we found this place (word of mouth) a great way to relax and have good sake, tasty treats, and a chill environment.

Just okay. Solid sushi, other food was just okay - but very very small servings considering the price. I don’t feel it was good enough to make the price worth it.
The cocktails - terrible. We tried several different cocktails and genuinely wondered if anyone had actually tested these recipes out because they were undrinkable. Not great service. The pounding club music while eating dinner was a bit strange too. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back.

We come to Denver a few times a year at a minimum. Always on the hunt for yummy places to eat. I won’t name names… but my favorite place has been dethroned after 5+ years. Colorado Sake Co is amazing and the new Queen 👑. Excellent service by every human we encountered. So many sake options (the cranberry chai is THE BEST!). The food! So dang good. We came on Friday for dinner. Then returned today for dim sum brunch. I’m in love with this place. Can’t wait to come back.

First and foremost Tori was our server and was very informative on the menu which made choosing everything a breeze. Service was fast but even waiting for dishes was well worth it because the flavors were each very particular but interesting.

The food we had were little samples but surprisingly very filling. We had chosen 4 options off the menu and we were stuffed after. We had the Teriyaki dumplings, gochujang shumai, duck confi buns and crab wontons. I also think the price was also very worth the amount of food as well. The sake options they had as well were delicious and offered many options from dry to smooth.

The atmosphere was gorgeous and modern with a personal touch of origami hanging from the ceiling. The origami is made by guests that you can learn at your table. They also host brunch and comedy nights. The vibe is also chill with good music. Makes it a perfect first date spot with the ability to keep a conversation going with some ice breakers.

Highly recommend this place and I will definitely be coming back to experience this fantastic food again.

Staff was disengaged, unfriendly and disorganized. Food was mediocre and drinks were subpar - the pickle shot is an abomination tbh.
We had reservations for 8:15 but it took until almost 9:30 to get our food and then we were abruptly told a few minutes after that they were closing at 10 for a private party. We have had other experiences here that were great, but this was not it.
On a bright note though, Tori was fantastic!!

Wow and wow! I must say I was extremely excited to come here because sake is life. The service was on point we had Tori, and she was informative, sweet, and attentive. The food was tasty with options for meat eaters and vegans alike. Theres a venue in the back where they do comedy shows and such of you have an interest in fun after dinner. If you come early you can get a spot but make a reservation if you want to lock in a spot cause it seams like people know it’s good and it fills up. All saki is brewed in house and they have flavors from original sake to flavored and infused.
You must try this place.

The Denver food scene is kind of meh. BUT, this place is anything but mid. I wish I found out sooner. They make their sake in house and the vegan options were delicious. Our server Tori was cool af. Added plus is the Comedy club in the back that had a Burlesque drag show.

Great place, great service, great food. Tori did us right, we made her pick all our dinners and drinks for the night, and made her split the bill 5 ways but she handled it like a professional. We won’t be back, but that’s because we don’t live near. Otherwise I would go back. But it was a vacation. All of the food was good, fantastic, even though I probably would have picked anything else on the menu over what I got. That’s how you know it’s good. Peace and love, east coast johnnie ✌️

Way overpriced for small plates. We went for a show and you could hear the kitchen staff over the performers. Then, their employee walked through the stage area with a mop bucket during the performance! They felt rude to their performers, drinks were super overpriced, and the food was decent but not on par with an actual Japanese place. Overall I didn't love it.

Went here with my friend and we each got a half pour sake flight to try all of their flavors. I have to say I typically stay away from flavored especially sweet sake but these were all phenomenal. Well balanced and could actually taste the essence in it. I’m very impressed. The unfiltered nigori sake is unbelievable.

Fantastic spot, an excellent example of USA sake done right. Their rotating sake menu features a good balance of traditional style sake and nigori to more modern flavor infusions and blends. Positive atmosphere. Would definitely return.

It’s hard to find a good sushi place in Colorado but this place takes the cake. The Red Devil roll was amazing, and the miso soup was the best we ever had! Tori was a fantastic server, helped guide us through the menu, and overall made it a great dining experience! We will definitely be coming back and recommending to anyone who will listen.

Really good food and vibe. The house-made cucumber sunamono was so fresh and tasty. The roast beef gyoza were the bomb. Expert tip: ask for the house-made mint wasabi sauce to go along with it. The edamame gyoza were a pleasant surprise and the added scallion gave them a nice pop! And let's not forget their namesake... Sake! Delicious selection of flavors. And, the service was friendly and fun. A really nice Sunday lunch!

I can't say enough good things about this place! My husband and I have been there several times and the food is consistently amazing. There are plenty of fantastic vegetarian options, and they're flexible about tweaking their other dishes to be vegetarian. The sake selection is top-notch, our go-to is the Green Dragon— it's so unique, yet reminiscent of flavors from India.
We also love that they have a dog-friendly patio, even in the winter. The service is exceptional, especially from Tori, who's always warm and welcoming. And if you're into sake, Mel is great at recommending the perfect combo (Green Dragon + Mango, yum!)

Worth the wait. Mango spritzer mocktail was divine, yet paled in comparison to the yellowtail sashimi (and literally their entire menu looked appetizing). We interacted with 4 different staff (had over an hour wait on their heated patio as we were a large group without a reservation) and everyone was uniquely awesome. I had a great time, Tori took such good care of us! It was my birthday, and honestly this is some of the best sushi in town. The fish isn’t fancy, but it’s super fresh. We were visiting Denver on vacation and this was one of our favorite spots! The food was immaculate, followed by the vibe and Saki. We were lucky enough to join on their jazz night, which added another layer to the fun! This is a must stop anytime in Denver! I went in solo and sat at the counter. The bartender was one of the friendliest guys I’ve ever met, it seemed. He quickly poured me a sake martini while I ordered the devil roll and spicy tuna roll. Both were delicious and the fun, casual atmosphere is very comfortable. Strong recommend.

I've been here twice now. Once for comedy on the weekend, and once for a date/trivia night. Both were fun. l cannot recommend this place enough. Went here with my friends and we had the best time. The vibes are unmatched. Great sushi, sake, and cool music. And shoutout to the sweetest server Tory. My wife and I were in town for our anniversary and this place came highly recommended by our daughter. I can now personally highly recommend Colorado Sake now as well! We went there to try the sake… it was a new experience and opened a whole new world for us. Aside from the sake… the food was amazing which we would have gone just for that. Aside from the sake and food… the service was next level. Our server Shelby made the experience unforgettable. She gave great recommendations and was checking on us to make sure we always had everything we needed. I think everyone I saw that worked there stopped by to check on us… and not in an intrusive way. They were genuinely just wanting to make sure we had a good experience. Next time in Denver we will definitely visit Colorado Sake Co!

Sushi was ok. Did not come with wasabi or ginger… we asked for wasabi not realizing ginger wasn’t there either. When we asked for ginger the server became very annoyed and asked if there was anything else we needed. And then asked again with attitude if we we were sure there wasn’t anything else because she did not want to have to go back and forth a third and forth time. So, we needed to be sure.

We then asked about 2 rolls we had been waiting on for over 20min… another 15 went by before we were told they ran out.

Definitely need to train staff better on customer service and dropping the attitude.

This place is so good for dim sum brunch!! We got a sake flight and about 10 different items that were all phenomenal. The Wasabi mint sauce was killer on the sushi and we were seriously contemplating drinking it straight from the bottle. Tori was delightful. She was super attentive and sweet. Definitely going back!

Oh how I wish I knew about Drag Beetlejuice before we showed up and tickets were already sold out!

That said, we had a great experience sampling a large array of the menu (forgive my pictures, my lighting wasn't great and I'd been drinking that great sake). The wait staff was highly attentive, made great recommendations, and made sure our sake was never empty.

Definitely do a sake flight, but the unfiltered original is my fave!

This place was AMAZING. We did the sake flight and tried 8 different kinds. They were all amazing, and their nigori was one of the best I've ever had. All the food was delicious. I have serious anaphylatic nut and shellfish allergies, and they were extremely careful with the preparation, so I was still able to enjoy their food. Our waitress Torri was also INCREDIBLE. She took excellent care of us, had great energy and was very kind and knowledgeable. Even the atmosphere was perfect. The inside was super unique without being insane. I can not recommend this place enough! We enjoyed it so much so that we're going back to do one of their cooking classes. Thank you to everyone there who made it a great experience, especially Torri!

My folks took me here for my birthday the other day and we had an absolute blast! Our server, Tori, was fantastic and brought the energy to the party, food was delicious and easily shareable. I will be back soon, especially for their large variety of home brewed Sake!

Incredible place with staff who care and treated us like friends! Especially shouting out to Tori, her recs completely on point, tropical roll special and the green machine sake, both delicious and refreshing! Tori was AMAZING!!! She made our day 🤩 We were staying nearby to attend a show at Mission Ballroom and this was just a short walk from our hotel, so convenient! The food was ALL delicious & well plated, the menu extensive and we really enjoyed the mango mocktail🍹 Highly recommend even if you don't go for sake!

This place is amazing, especially their server Tori! She was absolutely phenomenal to have serve us for the evening. This is one of my favorite spots! Delicious food with a great atmosphere. I would recommend ordering a bunch of the small plates and sharing everything! The spicy tuna roll is particularly great. This is also a great place for events: the comedy shows, drag shows, and sushi rolling class are awesome!

Sushi was fresh and the sake was great. I definitely need to comeback for a second round of sushi and a flight of sake. The service was great but a bit busy. They had live jazz music on the evening I visited this locale in the Rino District of Denver.

Victoria was a super friendly and real server who made our experience at Colorado Sake Co. enjoyable! The food was yummy - especially the salmon sashimi!! The sakes were good, but not as yummy as the horchata one I tried last year and made me fall in love with the place. Hopefully that one is back soon!

Best restaurant in Denver! We came here after a long hike in the Rocky Mountains and we devoured the food 11/10. The miso soup was the best I’ve ever had there was a creamy texture to it which I loved! The devil roll was amazinggg. Dumplings and kimchi fries also fantastic! The ambience was hella cute too origami in the ceiling? Hell YESSS All of this coming from a New Yorker so that’s how you know this place is good!

I worked with Colorado Sake Co to host a private sushi rolling class for a group of 20 and it was perfect! I believe it was the same format as their weekly classes, which I would absolutely attend again with friends. Plenty of food and drink for the price and such a fun activity. I've also been here for the comedy shows and sake flights and had great experiences.
