Packed and waited a while to get seating. Menu was confusing and wasn’t really all you can eat like promised. Servers were understandably stressed but were very passive aggressive and overall disrespectful when it came to ordering food… as customers do. Food wasn’t amazing enough to make me come back.

Was pleasantly surprised on New Year's Eve by the selection and quality of the AYCE menu and the ambience of Sho Sushi & Izakaya , right by Arapahoe and Parker in Centennial. They have three levels of AYCE menu, regular, blue and orange. I highly recommend choosing the orange AYCE as it includes 3 types of traditional sashimi, 9 types of specialty sashimi, 4 types of specialty nigiri as well as sashimi salad, fresh oyster, lobster dynamite, and refreshing zaru udon. Ordering three or four of these a la carte probably already cost more than the $42.99 AYCE price, not taking into account of many other tasty appetizers, nigiri, rolls and Korean entrees on the blue and regular menu. The service was also prompt and attentive. Certainly one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in town.

Foods are good. However, the tips are not with the mandatory tips. I walked in and saw the place with couple empty desks yet to wait for 30 mins for seating. Not mention the desert is not a part of the AYCE when they are not even handmade. Im sorry, but mandatory tips is applied I will not come back again only tips as appreciated and desert MUST include on All-You-Can-Eat

Sat at the sushi bar, and we lucked out, best service, custom chefs creations, we did all you can eat, oysters were delish, service was perfect, food was mouth watering, probably ordered 7 rolls, 6 other appetizers, miso, chefs creations etc.
would highly recommend and will be back.

My boyfriend and I didn’t know when they opened, so we went inside because the store was unlocked. We came in and the employees were sleeping in the booths. If you don’t want customers to see you sleeping, keep the door locked when you’re not open.

Sho is our go-to for sushi. I actually think it’s better than Sushi Den. The food is incredible, the restaurant is clean, and service is out of this world: specifically Lay. She enhances each experience. She takes care of each customer with a genuine smile and magnetic energy. She (and the food) are the reason we keep coming back.

Made reservation here for 8 for my wife birthday at 5:30 pm last night. Left with a bad taste.

The food was good. Service was slow and unfriendly. We all got the AYCE 42 per person and some drinks. Bill add up to 474 they charge 94 in tips on top of that because we are a big group. So you charge us tips already for service so you can give us bad service? Still, I left an extra 20 on top of that, which I shouldn't have.

Ordered was taken at 5:45. The last call to order was 6:45. Thought we have 90 minutes window to order, but it was only 60 minutes. The last order came missing some items as well. Food didn't come until 45 minutes later. Also ordered a soju that never came and got charged for it. Really? Then, the food came with the waitress having an attitude and slamming plate on the table. You getting mad us for reminding you our oder? Unreal

The reason why I left an extra tip was because I used to be a waiter myself when I was younger. Here's another tip, be friendlier, and you will get more tip.

My favorite AYCE spot in the greater Denver area! Tried several after moving from Los Angeles and was happy we finally found Sho. AYCE nigiri and rolls is one thing, but adding at least 28 pieces of sashimi included as well is icing on the cake.

The wait staff is the most friendly we've found in the state and always makes us feel welcome. Thank you Lay and Anna!
I've seen a few reviews saying the wait for food can be bad, but we've never had an issue for 2 years. If you go during peak times, you'll understandably wait longer. We go right when they open.

We've never had any issues with the quality of fish, and I already have a sensitive stomach, so add a 6th star for the food.

They charged an incorrect amount to my credit card (with a different amount than I signed on the bill), I called couple times and they said they’d pass my message to their manager but didn’t. Days later, I could finally reach the manager and had him corrected after calling multiple times.

I've been a loyal customer of Sho Sushi and Izakaya since it first opened, dining here every two weeks, always supporting the restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience with one server, Ley, has consistently been negative. From our first interaction, her attitude was rude, and despite giving her the benefit of the doubt multiple times, nothing has improved.

Over the course of seven visits, she has displayed the same behavior: throwing food on the table, giving short and dismissive responses, and failing to accommodate simple requests. It often feels like she treats us as if we’re begging for food, while we notice her being friendly with other customers. It’s disheartening and feels like she has a prejudice against us. Honestly, there have been times I’ve wanted to walk out when I see her working.

Last Sunday, we were thrilled to have Hilary as our server instead, and the experience was a breath of fresh air. I truly don’t believe Ley should be working in the restaurant business—she lacks basic customer service and communication skills. As someone who owns multiple restaurants, I would never tolerate an employee with such poor behavior.

Aside from her, the food has always been great, which is why we’ve continued to make the one-hour drive. But if Ley doesn’t change, we won’t be coming back. It’s a shame because we enjoy the food, but the service is just as important to the dining experience. Despite everything, we still tipped her 20%, hoping things would improve. Unfortunately, they haven't.

Not an Okay place for consistency and honesty. They cross contaminate with laziness and care for consumers with allergies. One night they’ll say certain items are good with certain allergies then the next they say no.ended up leaving the establishment and other people did too. (Possibly due to three hours before closing) rather go to bamboo sushi. By the way vegetarian options are cross contaminated too(for those who are vegetarian)

AYCE but they would not serve any more food until we finish what we ordered so far. And the food we wanted was a Miso soup? The excuse we got is that they would not serve a small bowl of Miso soup since they have to charge the left over food Thanks for worrying about extra charges we have to pay for the left over soup. The AYCE we had was their top line $42.99 for each and for 3 people with one bottle soju, coke & hot tea totaled $161. And 87 years old my mom is one of the three. I wonder how much worth she ate. I suggest you do not say AYCE if you do not let people eat as much as they want. I will never go back to that place and people who want the real AYCE should avoid this place. We stop eating right there and left. Ruined my hubby's birthday. What a day they made for me.

My husband and I came to dinner here and asked to do the AYCE. We placed our first round of rolls, after an hour of waiting we still did not have any food at our table but drinks. When we asked our serve how much longer it would be she said the food would be out soon and apologized for the delay. She mentioned the kitchen was behind. We understood and continued to wait. After two hours of waiting we only received one roll and two appetizers. We were then informed the kitchen was closing soon, yet we were still waiting on our other rolls. We asked to speak to the manger and he bluntly said “there is nothing I can do, you can continue to wait” at this point we simply asked for our check. The experience was unpleasant. I would suggest spending your money elsewhere unless you enjoying waiting hours for your food

I really enjoyed this restaurant initially. However, when I returned with some family members a different time. The customer service experience was incredibly bad. The workers did not greet my family in any kind of way. Also, when we finally were approached about a table, the lady was incredibly rude. She basically threw down the menus and dish ware and left. She also ignored us when we tried to say thank you for bringing the menus. Additionally, my brother during this visit, saw one of the workers sneeze right into the crab before constructing sushi rolls. So, we then decided to leave after just getting something to drink. Additionally, when we told the waitress that one of the workers had sneezed into, approximately a pound of crab that was most likely used for multiple rolls that day. She laughed it off and ignored us. This was a very horrible experience. I am unsure why the service was so bad in comparison to when I had visited before.

Disappointed with a Saturday lunch experience. No where on the physical menu or website, does it say that lunch AYCE isn't available on the weekends. $25 vs $35 is a big difference when you come in expecting lunch prices. A couple miles down Arapahoe road you can go to Sushi Katsu for AYCE lunch price; same quality and menu choices. The menu is already code accordingly, so it's not as if certain items aren't available on the weekend/for lunch. The spicy edamame isn't anything special; it's barely steamed pods with a dash of spicy seasoning sprinkle. Not worth it and not what I expect for "spicy" edamame

Sho Sushi & Izakaya isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that every foodie must embark on. Nestled in the heart of Centennial, Colorado, this hidden gem boasts an All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) menu that will make your taste buds dance with joy.

Let's talk about variety. From specialty sushi rolls that redefine creativity to delicate sashimi slices that melt in your mouth, Sho Sushi & Izakaya has it all. But what sets it apart is the AYCE menu offered in three tiers: black, blue, and orange. And let me tell you, orange is where the magic happens. As a die-hard sashimi aficionado, the orange tier offers the best bang for your buck, allowing me to indulge in my favorite delicacy without breaking the bank.

But it's not just about the food; it's the entire experience. The service at Sho Sushi & Izakaya is nothing short of exceptional. The staff treats you like family, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of perfection. And freshness? Oh, it's guaranteed. Every bite bursts with the vibrant flavors of ingredients sourced with care.

Now, let's address the elephant in the room: the distance. Yes, I drive almost 50 miles one way every other week just to satisfy my cravings at Sho Sushi & Izakaya. That's how much I love it. If only I lived closer, I'd be a regular here, probably making an appearance almost every day.

In conclusion, Sho Sushi & Izakaya isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary sanctuary for foodies like myself. With its tantalizing menu, impeccable service, and unbeatable value, it's a place worth traveling for, time and time again.

First time coming here and I'm very impressed by everything. The quality of the fish, portioning sizes, and customer service was top tier for an AYCE sushi restaurant. Definitely just little pricier for the AYCE portion but it was worth because you get the whole menu. Anything that is blue/orange colored a limited to 1 - 2 orders but otherwise everything else is as much as you want! I loved everything I had tried there. We go the baked lobster roll, flame roll, and a couple rounds of nigiri. Their appetizers were good too! My husband loved the Lobster Dynamite and their Oyster tempura. Portion sizes were great. It was enough to get you full and you're able to pace yourself. The service was amazing. All the servers worked together to get orders out to everyone in a timely manner and was super nice and constantly filled our waters and pre-bussed tables consistently. That is A1 customer service that makes me want to come back. The quality of the fishes too were good for an AYCE sushi restaurant, it tasted fresh. Definitely will be coming back again soon!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sho Sushi, an all-you-can-eat sushi haven that left me thoroughly impressed.

From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The extensive selection of all you can eat options showcased the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and creativity. Everything we order was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to high-quality ingredients.

What truly elevated my dining experience, however, was the outstanding service provided by Lay, our server. Her attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch to the evening. Lay's recommendations were spot-on, and her knowledge of the menu reflected a passion for the culinary delights the restaurant has to offer.

The food is appealing to the eyes and makes your mouth water. You even have the option to eat off the whole menu by paying a bit higher price. Which I say is a great offer. I always do the whole menu buffet price. Great for date night or just a night out with friends. They also have a variety of Japanese Sake and Korean Soju! If your into that. 😄

The all you can eat pays for itself! I highly recommend starting with all the sashimi at once! Then move onto to Nigri then a roll or two. The baked rolls will fill you up quick so leave that till the end. The gyozas are bomb! Pair your food with a glass or 2 of Chardonnay... amazing!! Price is worth the 90 minutes you have to order. Will be going again!!

The food here is great for the price. For all you can eat sushi do know most of the premium are usually limit to 1 order per a person but you get sashimi which is a great deal. The customer service and atmosphere is good. Overall great place if you are hungry for sushi

Very disappointing. Maybe it’s only the takeout that is like this but the $15 dynamite shrimp is just 5 very small shrimp on lettuce and carrots. The sashimi was good but also very small. The lady that worked there was very friendly.

The food is awesome, I go here quite often but the reason for the three stars is their disorganization to the all you can eat rules from the staff.

I always get the orange color all you can eat option and had three diff waitress do three diff things.

The first waitress says you can only get one of each item but when I went to order tuna shashimi she let me get it twice and said that was the one thing I could order double.

The second waitress let me order whatever I want multiple times (she was awesome and wish I had her every time.)

The third waitress says no you can only order one item regardless what it is.

It’s ridiculous that when I come the rules change each time depending on staff I get. I don’t even understand how you can market all you can eat but limit how many times I can order any one items.

It should be called all you can eat one item only.

I wish the staff would get on the same page or just simplify the rules. Hence the 3 stars. Not going to stop me from coming but maybe this review will get the managers to get this figured out.

I had the all you can eat lunch on a weekday. Since there are very few people, my orders came fast enough. Sushi and roll were fresh and delicious, but the rice could have been better. I will visit again with my family to enjoy the "orange" menu, which provides sashimi too.

Not impressed. The seaweed wrap used in the roll was chewy and inedible. The taste of the roll itself was bland. The salmon in a different dish was way overcooked.

Sushi quality was not good. Very less slices of fish on sushi. Sushi rise was also not good. California crunch had a bread like feel. Rainbow roll lacked fish and especially fresh fish Chicken skewer was way small
Disappointed.Spent $50 4 rolls plus chicken screwer
Customer service good

My family had dinner at Sho Sushi & Izakaya the other night and we all loved it. Everything we ordered was good, from the appetizers to the rolls to the a la carte menu items including the Korean BBQ ribs. Service was excellent. Our server, Lucas, was the best. He was attentive and checked up on us several times to make sure that we had everything we need. The food also came quickly so we did not really have to wait long. We all had a good experience and were even talking about it the following day. We highly recommend this restaurant.

For sushi in Centennial- this is my go to. I love trying new things and there all you can menu is super fun to order off of. The portions are reasonable to be able to try everything you want!

Overall food quality I'd give it a 4 but it's a 5 for convenience of location. No fighting for parking like downtown.

Also great sake selection!

This is my fav sushi in Denver… i’ve been to SO many sushi places in Denver including Matsuhisa and Sushi Den and so far this is the most affordable at its best quality. Their special sashimi is so amazing. Their nigiris are legit and not like those cheap ones with too much rice just to make you full. Their fried oyster is amazing too. I’ll be their regular for sure

It's too complicated to order unless you have good waiters or waitresses. Also, all the sushi they cut so thin it feels like I am eating at a Chinese buffet. But sashimi was okay. Would I go back paying $40.00 per person? I don't think so.

The fact that I love unlimited sashimi and they offered it made the idea quite enticing.
I gave up rice so this was absolutely a great restaurant for non carbs eater like me!
Service was a little slow for water and napkins but I did enjoyed the sashimi (quality wasn’t bad either no fishy taste). The water though had a strong tap taste.

My recent visit here was highly disappointing. The service was abysmal, with an excessively long wait time and the staff's lack of honesty and professionalism.

Despite being told that the wait would be 15-20 minutes, my party ended up waiting for an hour and a half. To make matters worse, the staff prioritized other customers who arrived later and seated them at a larger table. This disregard for reservations and the miscommunication regarding wait times was unacceptable.

The waitress's behavior was also disappointing. She made a customer take all the hot bowls directly from the tray, disregarding basic service standards! Not to mention, they also don’t even respond to anything at table for even one request with no acknowledgement.

Based on this experience, I don't think I'll be returning here. The poor service, dishonesty about wait times, and dismissive attitude left a lasting negative impression.

Food was good, but the servers need to understand allergies better. Didn't understand gluten free, said no sauce at all including mayo and spicy tuna. Maybe they have something in theirs, but of all the places that's the first one to say those are unsafe and teriyaki shrimp is okay. Would go back, hopefully will get better. They did eventually just start bringing out gluten safe rolls for my wife who is celiac so it worked out, but was questionable and confusing for some time.

We went in for a double date for dinner. We decided to get the all you can eat premium sushi meal. Although they do have tamari for gluten free, the menu is not marked for sushi or items that are gluten free. The waiter had to go back and forth asking a lot of questions. Basically I could not have any of the premium items so not sure it was worth paying for the premium all you can eat. They did keep all the gluten free rolls separate from the gluten containing rolls. The hot sake was good and the rolls and sashimi I could eat were good.

Yuck.

-Way too expensive. ($45 plus tax per person. Plus the All You Can Eat is NOT all you can eat )
- The sushi quality was poor. They make it seem like there are generous portions of fish. There are not. They use alot of fake crab meat
-Servers were nice, but forgot 5 different items I ordered. They really need to allow the guests to write things down.
- don't eat here. It's just not good for what you pay.

I recently tried their ayce sushi and I must say it was the worst sushi experience I have ever had. The overall quality was incredibly subpar, and I left feeling extremely disappointed.

I understand that an all-you-can-eat place might not have the highest quality sushi, but this was just unacceptable.

The biggest letdown was the rice. It was mushy and overcooked, ruining the entire sushi experience. It seemed like they had no idea how to prepare sushi rice properly.

Came here last night in hopes to do their all you can eat sushi option for 40 bucks. When we showed up we was told the wait time would be 15-30 minutes wait for a party of 6. Was totally fine for the waiting time, however we really did not get sat until 45 minutes.

When we got sat, servers took about 15 minutes to finally take our orders and our orders were starting to come. When it was coming, about half our order showed up, while the other half was missing and never showed up (no big deal since that’s kind of normal for most restaurant). When we decided to reorder for our second round, we order other new rolls and also reorder Eder the missing roll. However. I would not expect that about MOST of that second order to not showed up. When we finished what was brought to us, we was patiently waiting for the REST of the order in hopes that it’ll come but it never did. The server then came by our table ask us if there’s anything we need; I then ask if we have other rolls and order will be coming, and he went and checked and said there’s nothing coming. We then decided to proceed to not reorder anymore rolls because keep in mind from the time they took our FIRST order till that moment, it has been 2 hours. We then decided to pay and we saw on the receipts of our recent order we made that never showed up so where did that rolls and order went?

Overall, sushi and apps are good but this is the WORST AYCE sushi spot in Denver. I had never left an AYCE sushi feeling VERY hungry still and literally have to go to an In n Out just to fill myself up afterwards. For the same price that we paid, we would just stick with sushi katsu.

The sushi is great, I haven't gone here before but was reccomened it by a coworker. And the food itself was great, everything I ate was delicious. The sushi was super fresh I think some of the freshest I've had in town.
I just had two issues during my visit, the first was the wait times between orders. It would be about 20 to 30 minutes, mind the restaurant was busy all the tables besides 3 were taken. But I've been to other all you can eat places where I get my orders extremely quickly even when they are jam packed full of people.
The second issue I had was how often my items I ordered would get left out. I got the all you can eat option but they forgot half of the things I ordered, so I would order them again but it would be forgotten again. I wouldn't know if my order was coming or not so i would be afraid to order again, since it is all you can eat if you cant finish your food you're charged for the left overs. When I would ask my server the status of my order they wouldn't know themselves either. So I didn't have the opportunity to try some of the items on the menu because of the order mix ups.
The servers were very respectful and nice, im not sure if it was the kitchen that was messing up the orders or if it was them, but they did their best.
So besides those two issues I would reccomend this place to eat because the food itself is delicious and there are endless options to choose from the menu especially for the very reasonable price for all you can eat sushi and sashimi.

After hearing about the great quality sushi here, it was only right to get a group together for top tier AYCE sushi. We ordered almost everything on the menu and some items, we ordered triple. Service was not all that great and as much as it hurts me to write that, the 20% gratuity for five people or more, did not meet our expectations. Although the food was the best you can get in Colorado, for AYCE, we will definitely be back for that. Bring a jacket, it can get cold inside the restaurant. Also, check your bank statement, as you may be charged twice.

Update: April 2023
I just recently tried them again. I was happily surprised to see strong improvements across the board. They also now have an All You Can Eat option. What really made our night was the quality of the food. Everything we tried was great. We were excited to try everything we could. It's not the cheapest place around, but it may have just risen to my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area!

Original:
I love Japanese food. It's light, refreshing, and doesn't leave you struggling in a food coma after eating a good meal. An izakaya, or informal japanese bar/pub, specializes in appetizers and finger foods. Which is exactly what I was looking for on a Saturday at lunchtime. Sho Sushi and Izakaya is very conveniently located on the intersection of two main roads, Arapahoe and Parker. So it is easy to see as you get off parker and turn onto 88. I have wanted to stop by for some time. The first time I tried was a Sunday at noon, but they were closed. I should have checked their hours first. So this time I actually went during their business hours. I went at noon, so I was a bit surprised to find the place empty. The restaurant was clean and the decor modern. My family of four sat down and began looking at their menu. We ordered a handful of appetizers, bento boxes and sushi. I haven't had Tako yaki for years, so I was excited to see it on the menu. It is also rare to find potato korokke in the US. Both were fresh and delicious. They were out of okonomiyaki and had crossed chicken karaage off the menu, but I get that there are supply issues right now in many industries. The sushi was well prepared and delicious. Out of the teriyaki chicken and the bulgogi bento boxes I preferred the bulgogi, as the teriyaki chicken was just a bit on the dry side. The tempura was good, the miso soup was good. The service was good. Everything was good.

In the end...I give them 4 stars, because while everything was good, there were only a few items that were great. For a 5 star rating I should be humming while I eat and looking forward to my next visit to try more things. So, go ahead and give them a try, you will definitely get some good food.

Got sushi for an early dinner on Saturday pretty much at opening. It was fairly empty, so seating was immediate. Service was great and quick. And it's really beautiful inside.

The food was both Amazing and inedible from item to item. So even though the rolls were 5 star amazing, I can't give this more than a 4 for now. But I'll give it another try in a couple months and decide again.

Rolls, squid legs, potato croquette, tempura, and Ramen were top tier delightful. And most of the nigiri was pretty fair.

The worst items
Takoyaki - genuinely raw inside
Salmon - in both the nigiri and the carpaccio the texture was mushy
Grilled mackerel - insanely rubbery, but good flavor
Bulgogi - rubbery and tiny pieces
Fried oysters - fisher than usual, batter was delightful though

My wife and I went to check this sushi place out and found it to be very pleasant. We sat at the bar so we could also watch how they made their sushi rolls. I was very fascinated to say the least. The chefs were so fast, clean, polite, and professional. I would highly recommend the spicy babe roll, the crunch tiger roll, and the lobster bake roll. Honestly, any sushi roll there is going to be worth it, because we ordered 6 different rolls, and they were all so delicious. But, don't take my word for it. I suggest you check it out for yourself!

The food here is good and for AYCE it’s great. The problem I have is that it’s not a true AYCE. Instead of “all you can eat”, it’s more like “all we’ll let you eat”. Maybe it’s because I’m spoiled by other AYCE restaurants, but I didn’t love that paying for the premium AYCE option only allowed me to order one of the premium menu dishes per person… not really all I can eat. Also, they limit your time to 90 minutes. That’s all fine and well, except when I want to order as much as I can eat, I’m stopped from doing so because “the kitchen staff will be mad at [the wait staff] for putting in too big of an order and they can’t keep up”. Slow service and a time limit really puts a damper on my AYCE experience. There are too many limitations. With the premium menu cost, drinks, tax, and tip, it’s a little pricey. While it’s worth going to try, idk when I’ll be back.
