Chinese joint serving traditional dishes like Hunan chicken plus an extensive selection of dim sum.
Went here for the all you can eat sushi lunch (Sept 4). This used to be a Chinese restaurant then turned into a sushi buffet, went back to Szechuan, and now back to a sushi buffet again.
Overall the food was great, got two orders of sashimi which tasted really good and fresh.
The only issue was the portion sizes!!! I believe they are still used to the Chinese restaurant side and giving out HUGE PORTIONS!
Each individual orders 5 items at a time and since this is a buffet they need to portion the items to individual sizes!!
My wife ordered 5 items and was overwhelmed on how much food they gave her. She ordered the vegetable chow mein and it was legitimately a FAMILY SIZED PORTION! An individual will get full easily or not even able to finish the portion size of the chow mein and not even be able to eat any other items on the menu..
A buffet should be small portions of each item so you can try multiple items and if you like something then you could always order the same item again.
We understand that they are very new to this sushi buffet change and we politely gave the waitress advice on the portion sizes.
She was very receptive to our suggestions and assured us we would not get charged extra if we weren’t able to finish the huge portion sizes they gave to each individual.
Overall I really enjoyed the food and believe they are still working out the kinks and would be more careful on the portion sizes given for a buffet style restaurant.
I would definitely go back and eat here again. Hopefully they fix the portion issues, it’s a buffet you can always ask for more!

Sad to see Pearl Garden go, but this new place is a solid gem. Visited twice in a week speaks for itself. The map tofu is legit spicy and very flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp is perfectly crispy and almost tempura like. The cold noodle is refreshing and addicting.
But the star of the day is the sizzling platter of veggie... The umami is out of this world. We literally went back for that dish.
The twice cooked pork is pretty good, just that the meat was a bit tough and the green onion was a bit overwhelming. The fried rice is acceptable, with the rice grains a bit too dry/hard for our taste.
The only down side is how pricy the dishes are. Definitely 10 to 25 percent more expensive than Chinese food around the area, but the quality does make up for it. What doesn't make up for it is the $1.50 they do charge for the take out containers/bag.... Just a bit steep in my opinion on top of the already expensive prices.
Overall we will be back, eager to try other dishes. But will save it for more special occasions as it can get to 30/40 per person easily if not careful.

Came here for the first time for Sunday lunch and we enjoyed the food very much.
The Boiled Fish with Hot Chili Oil was good. The fish had good texture and was "smooth". The Princess Chicken Wings was my favorite, very tasty and came out just like the picture. Honey Walnut Prawns were crispy and juicy. Overall, great experience.

Just tried out Kigawa Sushi, the new all-you-can-eat sushi spot in San Ramon, and it was a delightful experience! I was in Dublin for business when a friend recommended this place, mentioning they had tried the older location in San Leandro and found it decent. So, we decided to give the new spot a shot.
The AYCE menu offers two options: the regular at $29.99 per person and the special at $36.99 per person. Opting for the special menu gives you access to a variety of belly cuts of sashimi, which is definitely worth trying if you’re looking to get your money’s worth!
The special menu has a limit of three items per person per round, with a choice of six items per round. My friend and I, being two females, went for four rounds. While there was a slight delay in serving during the fourth round, overall, the experience was pleasant. The sashimi was fresh, and the oysters were large and flavorful. They also offer some appetizers at the counter, which you can help yourself to while waiting for your order.
The special appetizers, especially the oysters, were a highlight – plump and without any fishy taste, plus no stomach issues afterward! The salmon and hamachi carpaccio were also delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors.
For sashimi, I particularly enjoyed the salmon belly and sweet shrimp. The toro was exceptional, melting in your mouth. If you’re worried about too much fat, try the hamachi and madai; the madai has a lovely sear, enhancing its aroma.
In terms of nigiri, both the seared squid and squid ink gunkan were tasty, but I preferred the crunchy texture of the squid ink gunkan.
Finally, the handrolls were filling, and my favorite was the Rock-N-Roll – eel and avocado, a fail-safe choice!
Overall, Kigawa Sushi offers a great dining experience with fresh sushi and a variety of options. Highly recommended

Food is ok. The waitress asked for more tip when 4 person ordered $160 food and added $23 tip. Had a argument and even escalated to her boss. It’s definitely not a pleasant experience.
The close time is marked 2:30 but if you come at 2:00, they expect 20% tip.

This restaurant is definitely one of my go-to places for Asian food, the flavors are truly delicious. Everything I have tried has definitely hit the spot from all their vegetarian dishes to the twice-cooked pork, definitely will be back for a couple more rounds because I cannot get enough of this restaurant. I definitely recommend this place, for yourself and or bring friends cause you won't regret trying this restaurant.

This place is like Fuji Sushi in Concord. I rather drive all the way to Concord from San Ramon than go here.
The service is extremely slow. Most of the time, there was only 1 server and there weren’t enough Sushi chefs to make any new rolls for the common area unless you like eating oranges and edamame. I don’t know whether the owner is cheap or is having a hard time finding help, but one thing for sure is don’t come here hungry.

The food choice is limited considering this is a buffet. The service is horrible. After I ordered, waited 10-15 min, I was told I can only order 5 item per round, and only have 3 round. The menu rule did not mention 3 rounds only though. This is not a buffet, it's a 15 item you-can-chose-resturant. The employee was very impatient and act like I'm eating too much, I felt very upset eating the whole time. The employees themself were also in a tensive atmosphere, and kept discussing the rules with the boss in the back. Looks like they are changing rules randomly. Avoid.

This all you can eat sushi is a scam!!!! You can only order 5 items per round and only 3 rounds maximum. It took forever to bring out some very thin pieces and frozen sashimi and every round is missing 3-4 items. There were 3 of us so we could order max 15 items per round. They skipped the more expensive nicer items on purpose! We questioned them and they showed us the menu that we order but they erased our orders!!! We took pictures of the order menu and showed to them and then they said they already gave us the dishes!! I took pictures of every item that came to table. I had to prove to them that they were missing dishes! After all that the waitress is extremely rude saying why it took us so long to order 2nd round and time is running out. We were there for an hour and it took that long to just do the first round and they only allow 90 minutes! We didn’t even bother with the 3rd round and left! We will never return again!

The flavor of the food is masked by too much chili. Unless you prefer spicy hot over flavor.

My wife and I ate here on Saturday and came to their dinner at 4:30p. We both had the all you can eat menu A&B. When they sat us down, nobody told us how to order. There was just a menu and a washable marker. I walked up to the server and she seemed annoyed I tried asking how to order, and she told me "Next time I'll come to you."
Another group came in and they spoke the same language as the people working (Mandarin?). They immediately got service, and their food came out almost immediately while my wife and I and a Caucasian couple who got there earlier are still waiting to get our orders taken.
When we were finally able to start ordering I got oysters, sashimi, and one of their baked rolls. The baked rolls were good. Some of the oysters tasted...weird even with lemon, but they charge you for food left uneaten $1/item. The sashimi tasted like they were previously frozen and bland.
Fast forward to Monday, I came down with stomach flu and after consulting with my doctor the only deviation from my diet was eating out for all you can eat sushi here at Kigawa. I love good sushi, and this is not it. I'm giving two stars to the food because the cooked food seemed ok to eat. Beware if you order anything raw.

If you're a sushi lover, this all-you-can-eat spot is a must-visit. At $36.99 per person, it's a steal. The oysters are incredibly fresh, and the sashimi is simply delicious. With a wide array of options, you'll never get bored. Plus, the separate menu for individual orders adds an extra layer of variety. Highly recommended for a sushi feast! Definitely coming back!

Honestly can’t believe the absolute morons and disgusting people who gave this place a 1 star.
Girlfriend and me absolutely loved this place as die hard sushi people. It’s better than Blue Ginkos(Sakana) by far. It’ll be awkward at first but as soon as you understand how they operate then you’ll enjoy it more.
All the food tastes fresh and phenomenal. The price if I recall is $35 per person but well worth it. You can also get the other menu for even less which is still amazing food.

My partner and myself came to get some dinner, "all you can eat" for myself. A single sushi roll is what my partner decided on. Upon telling our "waitress" what we would like to order she said ok and walks to the back. She returned with no shame in telling us (after ordering) that "her boss" says we both have to order all you can eat or we can't order anything at all. (As if they didn't know this when we placed the order and had a private meeting to decide)
I was suprised, to say the least. My partner is 5ft tall and 110 lbs..... Well, whoever the boss is, is apparently a coward and a crook, if not at least prejudice. Or all in one. They don't honor their deal. I asked the waitress: What if I were to come in by myself, if they would then honor the deal and she did not respond. We immediately left.
The way we were treated felt extremely slimy. I would avoid this place, their practices behind the scenes must be appalling if this is how they treat people to their face (or hide behind sending a waitress out to deny and dishonor their customers, in this case)

Heard that there's now all-you-can-eat sushi in the East Bay, come and give it a try! Only $24.99 during weekdays at lunchtime, and they even have sashimi. Not crowdeo around noon; they have ready-made specialty rolls and appertizer like hamachi, and tuna rolls that you can grab yourself. If you want larger special rolls, you need to order separately. Everything is freshly made, especially the sashimi, and it's surprising that you have sashimi all you can eat. They also offer various hot dishes for lunch, such as ramen and fried rice, with plenty of choices. It's really great value, and they even have Hamachi kama. Not much difference between lunch and dinner, except for more types of fish sashimi and grilled mussels at dinner, which is $36.99. This buffet is really worth it-there's nothing like it in the South Bay.

This place is a total scam! They said they are all you can eat but they only allow 4-6 dishes every round. And it took ages for the order to come out. I spent 90 mins sitting in the restaurant and I only had 5 dishes of small option of sushi. Sashimi tasted like frozen fish. But my lunch time was over and I had to buy myself a burger next door. Total waste of time and money. I will never go again.

They have plenty of choices and it is ordered to make. They have many kinds of sashimi which is awesome!
Fish are fresh and a lot of appetizers and they also have ramen.
$24.99 is a good deal for this kind of sushi all you can eat.

They offer plenty of choices, and everything is made to order. The variety of sashimi is impressive!

If you're looking to have the WORST 'All You Can Eat' experience ever, feel free to pay this place a visit. But i GUARANTEE you... you WILL feel scammed and regret it. By far the worst AYCE restaurant I've ever had. Ordered 4 rounds of sushi/sashimi, total of only 2 rounds came. Then they gave us the check and told us to leave once we questioned them about the remaining rounds of sushi ordered. Listen to me and save yourself the money & time. ????Absolutely lost for words....

We have been to many szechuan cuisine, Spices in SF, is our fave, and so when we were driving from Portland on a cold, rainy evening, we searched for a szechuan place along our route. We chanced upon this gem of a place, and Boy were we glad we found it.
First, the portions are ginormous, so order carefully as long as you are ok with leftovers tomorrow.
We ordered our usual go to dishes. Explosive chilli chicken, spicy garlic green beans, veg chow mein, and finally the boiled fish with chilli oil. Ordered some white rice with it. The food was awesoooommmmmee. Spicy as expected and we all demolished the food. Minus one point for the fish dish. The boiled fish did not have a flavour, bean sprouts and just liquid oil, I have eaten better fish in spicy oil and other Schezwan places. But rest of the dishes were so good. We packed it all ordered extra green beans to take home and will probably eat it for lunch tomorrow. Look at the pics, the quantity is huge, but the taste is excellent. Highly recommended!!!!

We are party of six and had dinner here. Food quality, cleanliness and taste are ok. Prices are a little high. But when I checked the bill and found they already automatically added 20% service charge to the bill without notify us, then I showed it to my wife and told my son, this is really unreasonable and ridiculous, glad we had checked the details of the bill since we had many bad experiences before, then I asked the waitress why 20% service charges automatically added to the bill, she just not responded and ignored my question, but said you could mark at least 18% to the bill, only three choices, 18%, 25% and ?%, which means she still want me to add at least 18% to the bill, and totally they will receive 38% on service charge. This is so tricky and ridiculous. But the receipt they give to you won't show the 20%,service charge. So be careful, when you are eating at this place or any other place, make sure to check your bill carefully. BTW: if you eat like $200 in foods, when you get out of the restaurant, you probably end up paying $300 if you do check your bill carefully

Atmosphere is ok, service same. Food was bad. Not make you sick bad, just no flavor, vegetables were old and bitter, noodles cheap and oily. If you're looking for a dish without a puddle of some boxed-sauce you'll be disappointed! On the up side there was plenty on the plate. Might explain why there was only one other table with people at the height of lunch hour.

We had a terrible experience.
We wanted to try there since it is a new management.
We went in asked for combo chow mein .
One lady came and said “we don’t do that “ ok . We asked do you have chicken chow mein . She said yes . We ordered that and we asked for extra vegetables.. She said we will add $ 3 to $ 18 the price of chowemein .
She brought the food with gloves on . She was cleaning the place with a broom . Brought food with the same gloves ..! Then we asked for some bigger plates. She refused and said there are small tiny saucers on the table to eat chowemein ..!!!
Then we told her we can’t eat chowemein in that tiny little saucers..!!! Then she went back took her broom 🧹.started moping the floor again ….!! Then we asked for two bigger plates with much reluctance she came back gave the plates with the same gloves 🧤..!! … …. Hope some one e will teach the basic manners, cleanliness to these people….
Oh my God it was horrible….we will NEVER 👎🏽 go there again ….. There are so many nice places in town if anyone wants to try Chinese cuisine….
Very mean and rude place .
Paid $21 for one plate of chowemein..
This is what happened. I will never recommend this place unless you want to go through all these …..!!!!

First few times, it was impressive. Now they charge for doggie bags and boxes to take home leftovers. Prices seemed higher on food, too last time. Place was deserted at 6.20pm on a Friday. Sad, as they had something good until they got greedy, Nickle, and diming. We won't go back now.

This restaurant changed ownership in 2022-11 and then slightly renamed by appending "喜川". The new restaurant food and staff are excellent. The flavors are bold, spicy, and excellent. We greatly enjoyed their mapo tofu, pancake with beef, sliced beef with pickled vegetables broth, and their seasonal pea sprouts stir fried with garlic. There's so much of the menu we haven't tried yet, looking forward to returning here.
We got their mapo tofu "less spicy" and I found it still have a serious spice level that burned so good. Take care what you order here if you don't tolerate spiciness or mala very well.

Well new restaurant ownership nearby Danville Costco. Always passed by to and from, and will keep passing by after having eaten there with my family of 5 (3 children).
Ordered various food types, had two near misses with wrong dishes being delivered to our table. Everything was orange hue in color (what were the odds of that?)
Small portions (except for the basil eggplant). Order of xiaolongbao is $2.50 a piece! 🤯 for one small dumpling.
So-so in flavor for the other dishes mostly overpowered by tongue numbing spicy chili oil 🥵not enjoyable). Ended up drinking 3large carafes of table water amongst us.😰
Automatically charged 20% gratuity for my wife and 3childrenDid not disclose that anywhere before ordering, and not typical for a Chinese restaurant… not cool to auto charge 20% gratuity for a party of 5 that has mostly children. Lastly to top it off - charged me 50cents to box my leftovers and 10cents for the bag. Lesson here: bring your own Tupperware in case you have leftovers and grab your shopping bag too. 😜No thanks.

Good restaurant serving up your favorite dishes. I was craving some sweet and sour pork so decided to order the lunch special. If you dine in, you get soup, salad and egg roll. I did take out so just got two egg rolls. They were delicious! The sweet and sour pork hit the spot and didn't disappoint too much. The sauce was just the right thickness. I don't like the red gloppy sauces of other restaurants. The fry coating could be a little lighter as it looked a little too over done, however the meat was tender. There was some pineapple chunks but would have loved to see some green bell pepper too. Very generous on the rice 👍 Price for a plate lunch is around $11+

Came here for dumplings for Lunar New Year. Disappointed in the wait time as the server kept saying just a few minutes, but it took 45 mins to actually get my order.
Once I tasted the dumplings, I was disappointed again. They were terrible in flavor and quality. I couldn’t make out the type of meat used as they all tasted very strange. I would order something other than dumplings if I ever came back.

We just ordered some food from them, luckily we were super hungry and stared to it with big appetite 🤤🤤but was disappointed a lot with sesame beef it was so sweet, after this even coda doesn't taste sweet. Mongolian beef was not spicy at all.

This is my go to standard Chinese fair spot. It’s nothing that’ll change your life but always does a great job of hitting the spot. Big portions, more then fair prices. I take everyone here when they want Chinese food.

I placed an order online and when I went to pick up my order the girl wasn't wearing a mask. I asked her where her mask was and she said I'm eating my lunch, I can't wear a mask when i'm eating. I told her she should wear it when customers come in. She didn't like it. Also, none of the kitchen staff had a mask on or gloves. I could see them when the door was open. I threw the food away and will report them to the health dept.

I set my expectations accordingly when it comes to Chinese restaurants. If I'm eating at Koi Palace I expect a certain standard since it's a mainstay of premium Chinese food. At Panda Express, I know what I'm getting and it doesn't prevent me from enjoying their food, which incidentally always have fresh ingredients. You cannot do that with the food they serve at Pearl Garden. They have managed to eff up my expectation meter with their bad food and dumpster grade ingredients. Sad part is I'm actually being made to pay more for it. Mushy, raw tasting wonton, month old crispy duck, bastardized twice cook pork made with overnight Char Siew. WORST FOOD EVER. Never coming back.

Great food and excellent service! We had a party of 9, lots of appetizers and main dishes that were delicious! Our server was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed and refilling our drinks. The manager also came by and was so sweet with our little girl. Highly recommend. They’ve now got some new regulars :)

I would give this place 4.5 stars for being very friendly and preparing food very fast. Dinning area is a little cramped and outdated.

Brush up on your chopsticks or they even have silverware to enjoy their food with. Dishes I've had have always been tasty and reasonablepricrd.

It's not the worst Chinese place, but it's close. The problem is that their food is incredibly bland. I have trouble believing they use spices at all. I was especially disappointed in their Mongolian beef. Not even the fried rice is good. You're better off with Panda frankly.

If you are a fan of Chinese food, this is the place to visit. Not too busy place, people are great. They suggest many options to try which are new for customers. Quantity in good measure. Do try this place this weekend.

I placed an order through Grubhub at 6pm with an estimated delivery of 6:50-7pm. 7:25 comes adding and the online tracking still says that my food is being prepared me I try to call the restaurant several times only to get a busy signal. GrubHub tries to call them and daysf as well. What a terrible first experience.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years. In all of that time you would expect a bad meal once. Happy to say that it's never happened. If you're looking for good Chinese in San Ramon this is the only place to go.

Wonderful for a get together especially if you are a slow food revolutionary. If you want instant stuff go to panda Express.. if you want a really good fresh cooked meal come to Pearl Garden.
Im a huge fan of the egg foo yung and the wok veggies.
Can't beat the dimsum or prawns too...
Nice wine list for your pleasure as well

We just love Pearl Garden. The food is delicious & the service is outstanding. We order & the delivery is always prompt, food is hot & accurate. I always tell myself I want to eat there as the food is so good delivered it goes without saying eating there would be even better on site.
I have to say their staff is wonderful & the Owner is so nice. She truly genuinely cares that our food is exactly as we like it.
This review comes from a VERY PICKY lady.

Most American style Chineese restaurants have a standout dish, and in my opinion Pearl Garden's dish Is eggplant in garlic sauce. I'm not even a fan of eggplant either. It is very good, especially when piping hot right out of the kitchen.

I have been a loyal customer of Pearl Garden for years - they know my address.. They will no longer be delivering to me! Ordered the large "war" wonton soup. How do you not put a wonton in wonton soup? Well, people make mistakes because we're all human. However, business owners make a bigger mistake when they don't believe a customer and try to put the problem on the consumer. When they question it over and over again and describe how to dig for it at the bottom. I've had a lot of experience digging for wontons....no wonton in that soup! Other top issue the beef in the beef and mushroom. Spit it out because it was so tough. Kept questioning me on that too...Done! Spent $60 dollars and threw it down the drain. Told them to come pick it up and credit. Kept telling me she wanted to bring me some wontons. No, it's after 9pm and you don't believe me. Not the way to do business. I've ordered dozens and dozens of times. Just removed your number from my phone.

Service is very slow and they got my order wrong and as a result I had to wait an extra half hour (1hr in total). And by the time I got my order I had to take it to go instead. Food was horrible as well so I ended up throwing it away. I would not recommend this place. You get what you pay for 👍

Don't let the star fool you, this place can keep it's own against the competition. However, in this particular genra of food style there is a ton of competition and you need to stand out above the rest to be memorable. The food is good and fairly priced and I used to go there often. However, that said, the service staff seem far less dedicated to your satisfaction than I see in other resteraunts. I constantly need to get someone's attention for water or anything really after ordering. You may struggle with paying the tip for more than the very minimal base percentage. Even if your a generous tipper like I am you may find yourself looking at the bill and figuring a minimal percent you need to pay, and not really wanting to pay it. The second issue I have is I really struggle to understand what is being said, epecially when ordering take out. More often that not I have to repeat my order several times. One rare occasion I spent 5 minutes giving my order and when it was repeated back it was so wrong I just said thank you but I'm cancelling my order. Then the manager actually called me back at work, and persisted to explain I was ordering off there website wrong and how I should say things in way so they can understand me. ?! I ended up ordering the meal finally but I was honestly a bit drained and frustrated. I will not call in an order there again. I am not a fan of repeating myself over and over especially to order food then be told I need to learn how to order from thier menu. Trust me when I say this, I know how to order food. The scary thing here was she would not take no for an answer, she literally called my work back and kept the order going until I actually felt committed to this lunch order. This is honestly the only time ever I think I had felt pressured to order take out. For me the food is no where near special enough to deal with thier service.

We love the food here. The place is nothing special to look at, but when you get to know the owner and staff, and the amazing quality of food, you will be hooked. There are larger, fancier places in the area we have tried, but we keep coming back here.
